One Does Not Simply Walk... [For Glory]

After her last involuntary trip to the Sea of Blood, Yuko had told herself that she would never, under any circumstances visit the Dark Area again. So, naturally her absolute madman (mad-mon?) of a partner talked her into visiting the Dark Area again! At least this time she had come better prepared to travel through one of the wickedest and more treacherous sectors of the Digital World; Wearing a warm hoodie, a pair of cargo pants and hiking boots, and carrying a backpack filled with enough food and bottled water for two days, the teenage Tamer climbed the rocky trail leading up to the Cliffs of Chaos. A fitting name for what was essentially a blood-red mountain range of doom.
Accompanying her on this trip were of course Jokermon, as well as at least one of his two recently hired mercenaries and longtime allies, IceDevimon. Being the only one in the group blessed with wings, he was essentially cheating his way up the mountain by flying throughout the whole trip. MarineDevimon was being kept inside his Digi-Memory chip for the time being, on account of him being too freaking massive to traverse such a narrow trail with the rest of them. As for the mad clown himself, he stayed the closest to his Tamer, providing the live commentary for their trip. Needless to say, his incessant rambling was quite a pain for Yuko to cope with…
“Ahh, the Cliffs of Chaos, the Alps of Agony, the Himalayas of Horror! I prefer the title ‘The Edge of Madness’ myself, but that’s just little old-fashioned me talking.” The flamboyant jester took in the macabre scenery surrounding them and chewed on it for good measure, waving his arms around like an overly passionate stage actor. “To your left, you will see a beautiful panoramic view of the Sea of Blood. To your right, you will see the endless darkness of the Forsaken Wasteland. Pay no attention to the giant orb of primordial evil hanging above your heads~” “You don’t have to tell me twice. This thing basically has a big ‘Don’t mess with it’ sign on it…” The Japanese delinquent said, looking up at the aforementioned giant orb floating in the sky, suspended by black chains. Yeah… she’d rather not think about what that thing potentially was or what it was doing there.
“WOW! To see your former evil lair again. Jokah-sama, I can hardly. Believe this. It’s exciting!” IceDevimon - who as always was apparently voiced by award-winning actor Christopher Walken - howled in his informed excitement. “I wonder if my COWBELL collection. Will be intact.” “I don’t think cowbell of all things can get stale. Maybe it’ll be rusty, I dunno.” Yuko shrugged, almost losing her balance in the process thanks to the heavy backpack she was carrying on her shoulders. After securing her footing, the multicolor-haired teen groaned. “Ugh! I hate hiking! How much more of this stupid mountain do we have to climb to get to the… what did you call it again? Dark Fortress? Very creative!” She scoffed at the name. “We’re almost there, my foul-mooded partner. Aaaaalmost there~” Jokah reassured her with a wide smile.

For a time being, the only sounds that filled the air about this small congregation was their own chatter, the sounds of their footsteps, as well as the howling wind about them. In such a desolate and treacherous place, only the roughest and toughest of digimon dwelled here; and more often than not, they were winged beasts that were taking to the skies as IceDevimon was - not land-bound individuals like Jokermon or Yuko. As far as the bestial and wild digimon of this part of the Dark Area cared, if you couldn't fly, and if you couldn't fight... ... Then you were an easy lunch. And that seemed to quickly become apparent, as a large shadow briefly passed over the trio; longbodied, with multiple wings. Were they to glance upwards, they would see a fearsome sight; a Dex DoruGreymon. It was circling above; having clearly noticed their presence, and thinking them easy pickings to hunt down - but that was not all. Ahead on the path, a second digimon would come into sight - a Dark Tyranomon-X, its metallic right claw dug into the rocky cliff side to maintain its balance on the narrow path. Finally, a low snarl from above would make one last beast known... ... A Raiodramon; and a rather fearsome looking specimen of one, at that; perched on a ridge above, with a certain undeniable feline grace. A trio of beasts were gazing down upon the three; all of them seeming especially keen on picking a fight, in one way or another. The DexDoruGreymon circling above would begin to dive downwards, the Dark Tyranomon-X would take in a deep breath to prepare its fiery breath, and the Raiodramon above would crouch down as though it was prepared to pounce, but then-- "DOWN."Seemingly out of nowhere, three chains would shoot out at each beast; hooking onto their necks. Energy like red lightning would travel up these chains; shocking each of the three beasts, and seemingly interrupting their attempts to attack. The Dark Tyrannomon-X let out a cough of green flames on the rocks below it, the DexDorugreymon would waver in flight, and the Raiodramon would briefly stumble; the three beasts beginning to back off. It was now that something would become apparent; the links of the chains were shaped and colored to resemble the four card symbols - hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades. The collars, too, bore these markings on them; and if Jokermon were to notice this... ... Then, perhaps, he would be able to recognize their owner; a strange, harlequin-esque digimon that was now sitting on the edge of the ridge above. The three collared beasts would perch up on the ridge above as well, laying down at the digimon's side in a rather calm and obedient fashion; though they still had a certain hungry gaze to them, as they watched Yuko and her group from above. "Ohhhohohoho~" The Arlecchimon would briefly chuckle, though; reaching over with an oversized hand to stroke the muzzle of one of the beasts. " Do forgive my pets, won't you, darling? They tend to get to be a little... Territorial, when I let them loose on their hunts. This is certainly no way to greet an old 'friend', though, is it?"Though the mask made it difficult to read where Arlecchimon was looking, let alone read her mood, Jokermon would likely be able to tell that she was staring straight at him; briefly waving with one of her larger arms. "It's been far too long, Jokermon. Though, perhaps, you should've known better than to return to such a place that's no longer yours, darling. People here do not remember you as who you once were."Was that a threat? A simple warning? It was hard to say; despite the words she uses, despite the unspoken airquotes, there was a constant certain cheeriness to her tone - and she had since turned her gaze away from Jokermon, to stroke the Raiodramon's head; the beast having rested its head in her lap. "It seems you've found some pets of your own as well, though; quite the interesting choices, I'd say - but I'm not one to judge." It seemed that she was referring to Yuko and IceDevimon as Joker's pets; barely even acknowledging them beyond that. No, her attention was either on petting and pampering her own pets, or upon Joker; but never either of Joker's companions.

As what little light shined down at the Dark Area was blotted out by the massive shadow cast by the Dex DoruGreymon flying overhead, Yuko instinctively took a step back, pointing up at the flying monstrosity. “I don’t suppose giant Cthulhu-ass dragons are part of the tour, are they?” She nervously joked, looking towards her partner. “A DORU Series? Oh, please! I can take down those zombie rejects in my sleep!” Jokermon waved this formidable threat off, being prideful and cocky as usual.
Then the Dark Tyrannomon-X appeared, causing the flamboyant clown to get slightly less cocky. “Get out of the way, small-minded reptile! Out with you, out I say! Shoo, shoo!” “I don’t think you can shoo a bigass T-Rex off like you would a cat.” His Tamer pointed out, beginning to sweat.
Finally, a third reptilian Digimon made its presence known with its menacing snarling. Jokah had to squint his eye hard, evidently having a harder time recognizing that one. “Hello there, hmmmmm… Ah yes, Raiodramon!” “Okay, THAT is not a lion!” Yuko objected. “But it is… a Dramon.” IceDevimon interjected, landing next to them, so as to avoid getting in the Dex Dorugreymon’s way.
Just as it looked like the three beasts were about to jump them, they were stopped in their tracks by their tamer (lowercase t). The feminine laughter coming from the ridge above belonged to none other than a harlequin-like Digimon, who held the metaphorical and literal leashes of those bloodthirsty beasts. “These are your pets?! Well, you’re doing a really shitty job keeping them in check!” Yuko yelled at the Arlecchimon, but something they said made her momentarily blink in surprise. “Wait… Old friend? Jokah, do you know this other clown?”
Jokermon’s red lips peeled to reveal a big, toothy smile, as he spread his lanky arms far and wide. “If it isn’t Arlecchimon, my former sister-in-pranks! What a marvelous reunion! You look radiant as always, darling! Although… did you put on some weight, or is it me?” The Clown Prince did momentarily lose his smile at the mention of this place no longer being his, staring confusedly at his former acquaintance. “Hmmm? What do you mean this is no longer mine? People would never forget the Demon King of the Digital World. Is this one of your oh-so-famous pranks? Bahahahahaha! Oh, darling, you’re a RIOT!” He broke into laughter.
At the mention of ‘pets’, the demonic jester nodded with pride. “Indeed, aren’t they splendid? I assume you remember old IceDevimon here. Don’t mind his weird New Yorker accent, that’s a relatively new addition to his coding.” “Where’s the cowbell? I’ve gotta have more cowbell!” The icy demon exclaimed, raising his clawed hand to wave at Arlecchimon. “And Yuko here is my Tamer!” Jokermon added, patting the human girl’s head to her slight annoyance. “Who would have thought, right? The Demon King getting a human partner of his own! Doesn’t she look absolutely fabulous?”

As Jokermon broke into laughter, Arlecchimon would laugh alongside him; her laughter high and strong, with a hint of prim and proper pride to it. "Ooohohohoho!" She'd chortle; though she sounded less like she was laughing with Joker... And more at him.
Though, she wouldn't elaborate upon why she was laughing like this immediately; instead allowing her attention to be turned towards the subject of Joker and his 'pets', nodding gently. It was only now that she would properly regard and acknowledge Yuko and IceDevimon - though she didn't address or talk directly to either of them; instead only addressing Joker in regards to them.
"I can see that your IceDevimon is still as attached to his bells as always," She would comment with an amused hue; waving back to IceDevimon as she added "I presume that he hasn't cluttered whatever place you've been calling home before your trek up here with his obsessions, yes? Is his brother well? It's be a shame if your pets had to be without a sibling; I certainly know my beasts would get depressed, if one of their own went missing." She'd gently pet the Dark Tyrannomon-X as she mentioned this; gently cooing to it briefly before Joker turned her attention towards Yuko.
"A human 'Tamer', hmm...?" She'd briefly hum as she looked the human over; an amused hue creeping back into her voice once more. "You haven't been going soft on us, have you Joker? Or do you only happen to call her your Tamer to placate her? Heavens knows that the two of us are strong enough to not need rely on such soft creatures." It seemed that Arlecchimon's opinions on humans was quite clear; seeing them the lesser compared to Digimon. "She's quite the eye-catcher however, I have to agree; certainly much more unique compared to the tamers that I've seen around here these days. A shame for her temper and tongue, though; you should teach her better than to snap at her superiors like this. At least my pets are able to walk the walk, when they talk the talk."
"Ah, but I shouldn't be getting too sidetracked.." Arlecchimon briefly shook her head, turning her attentions fully back to Joker, now.
"I do not joke, when I say that this place is no longer yours. Have you truly forgotten how long it's been, since you last reigned here? Your reversions have not been kind to your memory, if that is indeed the case..." Arlecchimon would begin, humming gently. "The Mazoku of yore rule here now, and there have been a good handful of rulers who have cycled in and out of that throneroom between when we last ruled and now; we are no longer the Laughing King and Tarot Queen, to them. We are but another couple of fallen rulers, amongst the many who claim and usurp, and then are ultimately usurped, in the endless cycle of the Dark Fortress' pecking order."
"But that's how life is, out here." She'd hum in a casual fashion, shrugging her shoulders; the four card-arms seeming to mirror her shrug. "Perhaps I'll take another shot at being the next Queen, once I reach my former glory; but for the time being, I don't mind playing beastmaster. Having pets makes any endeavor a little less lonely~"

Arlecchimon’s noblewoman laughter was quickly grading on one’s ears, but more importantly Yuko couldn’t bring herself to trust a lick of what the long-armed harlequin said. It went without saying that clowns were the most evil beings in existence after dogs, but even more so than Jokermon, she felt like this clown in particular had an ulterior motive. And even if she didn’t, the constant presence of her loyal ‘pets’ was unnerving, to say the least.
All of those factors seemingly went over Jokermon’s head, who just carried on the conversation unperturbed, as if he was merely having some casual chit-chat with an old friend. “Oh, MarineDevimon is splendidly well… or as he would say, totally radical, dude!” The demonic jester replied, borrowing MarineDevimon’s surfer dialect, and laughing to himself afterwards. “Ohohoho! I used to think that those goggle-wearing, Digivice-wielding monkeys were useless too, but even I can be proven wrong. I doesn’t happen too often, mind you, but it’s possible.” “For the record, I’ll snap at whoever I want! You’re not the boss of me!” Yuko defiantly said, huffing, and crossing her arms in front of her chest. The Clown Prince clapped his hands excitedly at that. “See? That kind of rowdy attitude is exactly why she’s the perfect partner for me! You tell ‘em, Yuko! Rise up! Stick it to the mon!”
Clowns did live in a society, but apparently they were not allowed to live in the Dark Fortress anymore. Jokah-sama curiously raised a hairless brow at the mentioning of the castle’s new occupants. “The Mazoku? What a droll-sounding name! And people called MY naming conventions bad!” He frowned and stomped his pointy shoe against the ground, clearly annoyed by the fact that contemporary society regarded him as little more than a washed out former celebrity. A malevolent idea formed in his head, causing him to smile anew. He stepped forward, cleared his throat and raised his hand in front of him, as if holding an invisible skull for his audition for the role of Hamlet. “What say you we band together like old times? With our combined power, those Mazoku usurpers should be easy pickings. And then, the Laughing King and Tarot Queen shall spread delicious chaos and hilarious mayhem once more!”

Arlecchimon didn't seem to pay much attention to Yuko's defiance; simply shrugging and sighing at Jokermon's response. "I can't say that I agree on tying oneself to such fragile creatures, but I won't question it further. Do forgive me if I can't help but imagine a small yapping Plotmon, when she gets 'rowdy' and worked up, though." She'd respond simply, chuckling low at equating Yuko to a yappy Plotmon. "It's a lot more interesting and fearsome when my pets get rowdy, after all; isn't that right, Raiodramon?" Her tone would trail off to a cooing purr as she reached over to scratch the aforementioned beast under the chin; briefly commanding "Speak!"
And indeed, on command, the Raiodramon would 'speak' - the beast turning its gaze down towards Yuko, and letting out a snarl that woud quickly rise into a ferocious roar at the Tamer..! "Good boy!" Arlecchimon praised with a brief light applause; giggling happily and petting the Raiodramon's head with one of her oversized hands all the while.
As far as the Mazoku went though, Arlecchimon couldn't help yet another giggle at Jokermon's comment on them being droll; seeming to agree with him, if the slight nod was anything to imply. As he mentioned the possibility of the two of them banding together, to usurp the Mazoku once more, though...
... Arlecchimon, for how chatty she had been before, fell quiet.
An almost awkward silence, that drew on for a few moments; and Arlecchimon's grip on her pets' chains briefly tightened, the metal clinking together being the only sound to break up the monotony of the howling winds about them. When she finally spoke though, her tone was unusually dry.
"... Still clinging to the same plays as always, aren't you, Joker? You haven't even reached a glimmer of the potential we once held, you know; and yet you already want to grasp that potential. Your lack in patience is showing, dear."
The harlequin sighed, as she stood; her beasts briefly backing up, as though to make way for her. "I'll have to decline that offer, my darling Joker; I'm still a far ways away from the glory I once held, and you're even further away than I am. I can see it all with just a glance at you; and it'd take a lot more than the two of us, to turn that fortress upside-down all over again. Even with our pets, it wouldn't be enough, I'd argue. And even all that aside..."
"... While I would love to return to the role of the Queen and her King, I can't cling to the past like you are trying to do, either. There are so, so, many other roles for us to play in this world. But something tells me that won't stop you from trying, anyways."

“She just called me a Plotmon. Is that a good or a bad thing?” Yuko asked her partner in slight confusion. The Clown Prince waved his hand dismissively. “I’ve never heard of a Plotmon before. Salamon, on the other hand, is a cute little puppy Digimon.” “I see, so she called me cute… Thaaaaanks!” The girl yelled back at Arlecchimon, cupping her hands around her mouth. In these mountains, her voice left a nice echo to boot.
Of course, it wasn’t as noteworthy as the echo left by Raiodramon’s ferocious roar! The young Tamer let out a sharp squeal of fear, especially since that roar was clearly directed at her. Still, she had a reputation as a loudmouth to live up to, but how did one even respond to a roar? Why, she mustered all of her courage, took a step forward and flipped the bird at the amphibian beast! “WOW! Someone needs to censor. This awful hand gesture.” Even IceDevimon was shocked.
A rather awkward pause followed the jester’s half-baked offer for an alliance, an offer that Arlecchimon ultimately refused. The haughty Demon King was none too happy about that, his big smile melting into an exaggerated frown. “I beg your pardon! I am THIS close to reaching my former glory, and thanks to Yuko, it all happened in just a couple of months… granted, it might have been more if you factor in human world time, but it doesn’t matter! I’d like to see YOU recover that fast after being blasted to oblivion by one of Yggdrasil’s royal dogs!” He practically barked at the beast-mistress, dropping all civility out the metaphorical window. “You forgot to tell her one thing…” Yuko added, standing right next to Jokermon as his equal. “It’s not Joker. It’s Jokah-sama!” She declared with gusto.

Arlecchimon would sigh, and shake her head; almost as though she were looking down upon a misguided child. She seemed to have heard Yuko, but otherwise paid her minimal mind, instead focusing on Jokermon still. Even with his harsh words and tone, she maintained an air of composure, of calm. "Don't you think that's what I've been doing, darling? I've been recovering just as you are; and I'm so close, yet so far, from reaching that peak that I covet. So far, from the good old days." Was that a hue of sadness to her tone? It was hard to say; the mask made reading things quite difficult, after all.
"The only reason why I've survived like this, though, is because I accepted the role that fate has given me; and I will not leave this role, until the time is right. I know better, than to chase after my own tail to reclaim a past that has long-since passed. To say that I moved on from it completely would be a lie, of course; but I know better than to lust for it as obsessively as you are."
The harlequin shook her head once more. "To let you keep going as you are now; you'd only be running to your own death, you'd only be asking to be loaded by the Mazoku within - and that'd be the end of not only your story, but the story of your pets." She'd sigh, stepping closer to the edge of the ridge. "I am happy to see you once more, my old friend, my brother-in-pranks, my King. I am more than happy to simply sit here with you, and prattle on about whatever subject comes to mind."
"... But I cannot allow you to ascend this ridge any further, unless it's to pledge your allegiance to the Mazoku in the fortress, as I have. The role of the King has already been taken by someone else; and I won't let you end your own story, trying to chase and reclaim it before you're even ready. Find other roles to act out, in your plays; I do not care if it is here, or elsewhere - but don't waste your life here, is all I ask."

“Pledging his allegiance to the Mazoku… like you have?” The Japanese delinquent muttered in surprise. Now the puzzle pieces were finally coming together; This wasn’t just a chance meeting between old friends. Arlecchimon was literally the gatekeeper there, keeping any trespassers out of the Mazoku’s territory. Those trained beasts of hers must have made her perfect for that job - or ‘role’ as she called it - considering how quickly they had spotted them on their way up these chaotic cliffs.
Despite his archetype being that of ‘The Fool’, Jokah was smarter than he looked, as he quickly figured out the same thing that Yuko had: That Arlecchimon hadn’t appeared to them as an ally, but as an obstacle. “Waste my life? Waste my life?! Hah… Hahahahaha! Bahahahahahahahaha!!” The mad jester shook with laughter, barely able to restrain himself. “Have you forgotten who I am? I’m the Demon King of the Digital World, the Clown Prince of the Dark Area! I’m the one who painted Lord Barbamon’s entire palace in fool’s gold! I’m the one who woke up Ornismon from its ancient slumber by conjuring up a gigantic bird whistle! I’m the one who shaved Azulongmon’s whole beard… twice! In all of those cases, I died - very painfully, I might add - yet here I still am! Honey, I didn’t waste my life. I LIVED IT!”
With a click of his fingers, Jokermon beckoned one of his own ‘pets’ closer. “IceDevimon, I hereby put you in charge of protecting my Tamer. Abundant wealth and cowbell awaits you if you do your job well.” He ordered his demonic mercenary. The icy devil nodded, flashing a fanged smile. “Consider it done, Jokah-sama. Ms. Yuko. This way, if you please.” He gestured for Yuko to move closer to him, which she did. “You’re gonna be alright?” She asked her partner, a hint of worry in her tone.
Jokah gave no answer, his smile instead widening. “I’m afraid it’s you who’s wasting her life, Arlecchi-chan. Laying low, playing it safe, acquiescing in being the Mazoku’s guard dog? Whatever happened to gambling our lives away for the sake of a good laugh?” There was an unusual amount of passion and resolve to the jester’s words, which amounted to him acting more hyped up than usual, eagerly stretching his long, skinny legs. “So! Which one of your pets wants a piece of me first?”

Arlecchimon would be quiet as Jokermon retorted her words; boasting in the many deeds that he had done over his many lives. Indeed, she knew already, the many things that he had done; for she was a partner in crime for a handful of them. And yet...
... Such great beings, such great beasts; the two of them only ever survived, because they both were otherwise beneath the notice of such digimon, in normal cases. What did a Demon Lord have to gain, after all, in loading from a much weaker digimon? No; the Digimon who lurked in that fortress now, they would eat and devour Jokermon whole, if she didn't stop him here.
But still, even as she sighed, there was a slight fondness - and a sadness, all the same - to her tone. "You never change, do you Joker?" She'd muse in rhetoric, glancing to her beasts. Raiodramon, DexDorugreymon, Dark Tyrannomon-X... With a snap of her fingers, Raiodramon's chain would shatter and dissolve into data; freeing the draconic beast.
And as soon as it was freed, the Raiodramon would - quite literally - spring into action. It leapt down from the ridge it stood upon, down onto the rocky path that Jokermon stood upon, and would turn to face him with a low snarl; its tail slowly flicking. The spines that covered its body would begin to rise up into an almost readied position - touching them looked as though they would hurt - and the glow of the spines along its legs and hindquarters would begin to shine a bright red as the Raiodramon roared at him; challenging the clown, and readying itself for the fight at hand by using Thrill of the Hunt.
"Do play nice now, darlings~! Oohohohoho!" Arlecchimon called from her perch, seeming to be falling back into her usual casual air. This was her role, that she'd make the most of; and Raiodramon was the most prized of her beasts. If anyone could stop Joker here, it would be the one.
- Raiodramon leaps down from the ridge, and stands before Joker! - Roaring a challenge, Raiodramon uses Thrill of the Hunt, and waits for Joker to make his first move..!
Move Used: [ABILITY] Thrill of the Hunt: Raiodramon gains a burst of adrenaline in the middle of the fight that drives it to hunt harder; increasing its attack and speed by 30% for 2 turns. [2 Turn Cooldown]

“Fufufufu! Raiodramon, the one I’m the least familiar with. This should be fun~” Jokah-sama claimed with a chortle, watching bemusedly as the amphibian beast sprung to action, showing off its spiked, venomous hide, not unlike a big cat getting ready to pounce on its prey. Its excited roar was a clear sign that it was ready to do battle, and so was the clown… right after a quick wardrobe change, of course. “Yuko, it’s time to tango!”“Time to tango!” The young Tamer affirmed, holding up her now glowing Digivice: A purple and red D-Arc model with a strap decorated in playing card suits. “Jokermon, Digivolve to… Matadormon!” The Demon Man-type Digimon spun on his heel, his form growing taller and even slimmer, draped in the bright, exotic fabrics worn by the Undead-type Matadormon. “Saludos. I am Matadormon, master of the Bulldog! Olé~!” Kicking his now bladed-shaped feet against the ground, the vampiric bullfighter jumped several feet upwards. As the evolved Demon King briefly floated in midair, he looked down at the quadruped beast, which suddenly held the lower ground in this confrontation. “Can this gato grande keep up with my beautiful, deadly dance? Let us find out. Asalto de Flechas!” His pointy, purple shades shined menacingly, as did the countless of flying rapiers that suddenly shot out of his long sleeves, raining down on Raiodramon and the area surrounding it. Its skin might have been poisonous, but it didn’t look stab-proof. OOC Notes: - Joker Digivolves into Matadormon. - Jumps upwards and uses Asalto de Flechas while in midair, raining an onslaught of rapiers down on Raiodramon. Passives: Old Timer's Knowledge [Passive]: Upon meeting a new Digimon - except those of the "Unknown" family and beings that aren't really Digimon - he can figure out its Species, Attribute, Family and Type. Furthermore, if that Digimon belongs in the Nightmare Soldiers or Dark Area families, he can also figure out its weaknesses, if any. Demon King's Charisma [Passive]: If the user was not hit by any attacks in the previous turn, reduce all of his cooldowns by 1. This ability itself is not affected by this, having a natural cooldown of 3 turns. Data Vampire [Passive]: Recovers a little health at the end of each turn by absorbing the data leaking from an enemy's open wounds. The amount of healing increases the more data the enemy is "bleeding". Speed Demon [Passive]: Matadormon is among the fastest of Digimon. This makes it harder for slower or bulkier Digimon to land a hit on him, as long as he keeps moving. Effects: None. Move used: Asalto de Flechas [Attack]: Fires the countless rapiers hidden in its sleeves. Each rapier that gets lodged into the enemy causes a tiny amount of data to leak out, adding damage over time and slowly sapping their strength. Has a 3 turn cooldown.
Cooldowns: Asalto de Flechas: 3 turns

"You wouldn't do well to underestimate Raiodramon, darling." Arlecchimon would call to Jokermon - now Matadormon - in a playful tone, leaning back. "I chose that one for a reason, after all."
Just as he knew her, she knew him, after all.
Between Raiodramon's almost feline grace - as well as the boost it gained from Thrill of the Hunt - it seemed to be able to dance and weave its way between the rain of rapiers that descended upon it for the most part. The brunt of the attack was avoided, but so many projectiles couldn't be dodged forever; and the occasional blades would slice into its shoulders and side in glancing blows, drawing small traces of that liquid data that the vampiric Matadormon likely craved.
If he were to attempt to consume that data though, he would find it to be near-inedible; a sickly feeling welling up in attempting to drink it. It seemed that Raiodramon's poisonous nature did not extend to just its spines and skin, but its very liquid data as well!
Raiodramon would let out a soft snarl from its wounds, but pressed on regardless; moving clear of the rain of swords before its spines would begin to rise further; pointing at Matadormon, before firing off in a retaliatory fire of quills in a Decillion Arrow attack..! Were the fired-off spines to hit their mark, they themselves didn't hurt an awful lot... But Matadormon might find his muscles beginning to lock up and feel stiff; making it difficult to move properly..!
- Raiodramon is hit in a glancing blow by Asalto de Flechas; though its Venomous Beast passive makes its liquid data practically inedible! - In retaliation, the beast attempts to use Decillion Arrow at him, firing off its spines!
Move Used: [ATTACK] Decillion Arrow: Raiodramon fires off the spines on its body at the enemy; the spines themselves dealing only a small amount of damage, but also injecting the enemy with a venom that reduces their speed by 30% for 2 turns as it locks up their muscles. [2 Turn Cooldown]
Passives Known: [PASSIVE] Spined Hide: Raiodramon's body is covered in sharp spines tipped with poison, making it difficult to attack up close without being hurt. Enemies who use melee-range abilities on Raiodramon take a small amount of damage, as they are poked or scraped by these venomous spines!
[PASSIVE] Venomous Beast: Raiodramon is poisonous, down to the very liquid data it bleeds. If struck with a bleed effect, Raiodramon's melee attack is boosted by the same amount that it is bleeding for the duration; and effects that involve draining its liquid data do not heal the user.
Effects: Thrill of the Hunt - 1/2 Turns; 30%+ Attack and Speed
Cooldowns: Thrill of the Hunt - Waiting Decillion Arrow - Waiting

“Huh? What do you mean?” Yuko puzzledly looked up at the all too confident Arlecchimon. Indeed, what could she mean? Had she specifically handpicked Joker’s opponent? There was no way! Yet, that soon turned out to be the case. As Matadormon gracefully landed after a mostly successful attack, he took some time of his own to gloat, not knowing what was coming next. “Mmmmm, yes~ Bleed! Bleed your bloody, delicious data!” His beak-shaped muzzle opened up to reveal his actual, vampiric teeth, siphoning the floating data that leaked out of Raiodramon’s open wounds… only to quickly reel back and close his beak in disgust. “Esto sabe horrible! Where has your data been before!”While he was busy recovering from the awful taste, Raiodramon’s projectile attack hit him, doing… not that much damage, actually. “Hah! You’ll need more than that to overcome my deadly dancing style! Qué está pasando?!” The flamboyant vampire exclaimed in shock, as his body started becoming number and more sluggish - a result of the venom hidden in the seemingly ‘weak’ projectiles. So, that was what Arlecchimon had meant; Not only did Raiodramon’s poisonous trait make it impossible for its data to be cannibalized on, its special venom also handicapped one of Matadormon’s best traits, namely his amazing speed! On paper, it was essentially the perfect counter to him! “Shit, how do I do this again…” Yuko muttered to herself, frantically shifting through a bunch of Cards held in her hands. She picked one at random, slided it through her D-Arc’s side-scanner, and hoped for the best. “Digi-Modify! Evasion Protocol, activate!”The power of the Card was absorbed into Matadormon’s body, enveloping him in a blueish aura. “Ahahaha, yes! I feel much faster and nimbler now. This should even things out. Gracias, Yuko!”“It worked! It actually worked!” The young Tamer celebrated her first official use of a Card. Hopefully such a celebration wouldn’t be short-lived, as the newly enhanced Matadormon sprung back into action. He wasn’t quite up to his full speed, but thanks to the Evasion Protocol he had a much better chance at keeping up with his opponent speed-wise. “As I was saying, you’ll need more than that to overcome the master of the Bulldog! Patada Trompeta de Mariposa!” The vampiric bullfighter exclaimed, aiming a powerful flying kick at Raiodramon. The power would be lessened somewhat thanks to the Evasion Protocol, but Matadormon’s ultimate attack was still a force to be reckoned with, not to mention it was a technique that worked best on already wounded opponents. Only problem was that he had to get close and personal with those protruding spikes, but he wouldn’t be much of a Demon King if he let a detail like that scare him off! OOC Notes: - Yuko uses the Evasion Protocol on Matadormon, alleviating the speed debuff from Decillion Arrow. - Recovering most of his speed, Matadormon uses Patada Trompeta de Mariposa on a moderately wounded Raiodramon. Effects: Decillion Arrow: -30% speed (2 turns left). Evasion Protocol: Boosted speed, reduced attack power (3 turns left) Card used: Card Name: Evasion Protocol Type: Modify Rank: Starter Duration: 3 Posts The target Digimon gains a boost to speed at the cost of its attack power. Move used: Patada Trompeta de Mariposa [Attack]: Attacks with a mighty kick from the sky, drawn from his unique martial art, the "Bulldog". The power scales from Ultimate-level to higher than Ultimate-level, but lower than the average Mega-level, the more data the enemy is "bleeding". Has a 5 turn cooldown.
Cooldowns: Asalto de Flechas: 2 turns Patada Trompeta de Mariposa: 5 turns Cards: 1/5

"Raiodramon is quite good at turning predators into prey, I would argue." Arlecchimon mused to Yuko; her tone wry. "You haven't even seen the last of his tricks, darlings."
Indeed; it seemed that Raiodramon was quite the fearsome digimon to fight, with its wild nature. It was more than willing to face Matadormon's attack head-on; the bladed kick sinking into the beast's shoulder, and dealing a decent bit of damage. However, in meeting this attack head-on, Raiodramon also pounced forward to meet Matadormon in the middle - willing to tank this damage, in an attempt to give itself the opportunity it needed to attack vampiric digimon!
Assuming that this pounce were to succeed, Raiodramon's horns would be the first to meet Matadormon; the draconic digimon swinging its head in an attempt to gore him with them. Next, though, would be its fangs and claws; both equally ripping and tearing into Matadormon with ferocity, in its signature Aslan Brigade, on top of its enhanced attack..! Even if this pounce failed, it wasn't very likely that Matadormon would be able to avoid some scrapes from the spines, considering the proximity required to kick at it.
"Hmhmhmhmhmm~" Arlecchimon, though, would giggle briefly as she continued to watch the fight at hand.
- Raiodramon tanks the Patada Trompeta de Mariposa attack; taking a decent (though manageable, due to the attack reduction) amount of damage from it..! - In tanking the attack, Raiodramon attempts to counter with Aslan Brigade..! - Thrill of the Hunt wears off
Move Used: [ATTACK] Aslan Brigade: Raiodramon charges at the enemy; goring them with its horns, and tearing at them with its claws and fangs..! [3 Turn Cooldown]

Raiodramon was a feisty one, not afraid to take the flying kick head on, and dish out plenty of punishment while being at it, thrusting its horns against Matadormon. Now, any experienced bullfighter would tell you that grabbing a bull by the horns was actually a terrible idea, so he quickly raised his arms above his head to avoid them. Thanks to his torso being as thin as it was, the horns wound up hitting the empty space under his armpits. At the same time, he would use his free foot to kick against the rampaging beast, gaining enough distance to avoid being gored completely. “So, his trick is just attacking like a wild animal? What kind of trick is that?!” Yuko retorted, as she clutched her Digivice worriedly, wondering how her partner would get out of this. “I’ll show you a real animal! El Bulldog!” Matadormon exclaimed, using his flexible limbs and unique martial art moves to try and block the gnawing and clawing that followed. The way he moved resembled a fast-paced, passion-filled dance, allowing him to outmaneuver the wild beast… to an extent. He still got kinda roughed up by the furious assault, his beautiful garments damaged by claw marks and acidic venom that scorched the fabric. Even when cornered like this, the Demon King was able to fight gracefully, and even throw some quick, surprise kicks at his opponent, hoping for some cheap damage. “Ahahaha! Uno, dos, tres, cuatro!” OOC Notes: - Matadormon avoids being gored by the horns, then employs El Bulldog to partially block Aslan Brigade and counterattack with a few kicks for some cheap damage. Passives: Old Timer's Knowledge [Passive]: Upon meeting a new Digimon - except those of the "Unknown" family and beings that aren't really Digimon - he can figure out its Species, Attribute, Family and Type. Covers a variety of kicks and martial arts maneuvers used in close-combat situations without counting as special moves. Due to its unique nature, it is harder to predict against.
