Semifinals! Let's go a little more traditional, and directly put you out there!
The Scout wasn't kidding, in this case! After all of the volcanic wastelands, exploding skyscrapers, and underground caverns, it would perhaps be a breath of fresh air for the combatants to actually see themselves standing inside Infinity Colosseum - even if it was just a digital representation of the space! All around them, the crowds were packed, roaring and ready to see the fight about to unfold in front of them. A powerful barrier prevented shots from landing in the crowd, a circular 'dome' surrounding the area, even creating a maximum height which couldn't be passed for flight.
The battlefield itself? Well, it was a wide, concrete circle, about a hundred meters in diameter - and surrounding that, there was an additional twenty meters with a grass ring, before they'd reach the sheer wall of the barrier. The arena was only elevated about a half foot off the ground, but there was no rule against going out of bounds or even using the barrier as footing.
Nope: so long as they started with their foot on a chalk line, putting the two fighters about thirty-five meters apart from the start, there was no rules to the fight once the whistle was blown... other than a clock counting down on the north side of the arena! Amelie vs Cion

Semifinals! Amelie herself could barely believe it. After what had been three exciting, yet close fights, here she was; one of the grand prizes had been safely secured, even though she had no excuse to stop right there, right? The way she saw it, the hardest part was over; this tournament had five fights at most, and she had found her way through three. Only two remained. Didn't mean she was going to take it easy; if anything, right now the stakes were higher than ever. Second—or even first, if everything went well, sounded way more enticing than third-fourth, didn't it? She shook her head after those thoughts passed her mind. Focusing on the future when the present was a more pressing matter would be a fatal mistake if she let it get to her. One round at a time had worked thus far, and changing such a strategy would probably end up being a fatal mistake. For now, her eyes concentrated on Cion. Her next opponent, even if not somebody she was unfamiliar with. They had stumbled in the past, hadn't they? The digimon had displayed a great amount of strength for what had been a very brief meeting, and that had left lasting impressions in the young woman's psyche. Back then, the difference between their strength was obvious, and had played a vital role in how the two interacted. Now... however? How would things carry out? "Glad to see you're doing well, Cion!" The girl greeted with a measure of cheerfulness. The brunette didn't bear any ill will towards her, and what amounted to a friendly competition wouldn't change that. "Let's have a good match!" Prolonging such a greeting for longer wasn't fitting for the ambiance. She had to first move, so seizing it was the most logical thing to do. A composite ring of fractal code was already swirling around her left hand. Less than a second afterward, the girl was replaced by the imposing visage of Enigmon H. The aberration lost no time; it advanced through the battlefield, its intent being more than clear. It would try to close the gap that separated it from Cion as much as it could, energy already beginning to form in between the various tendrils that conformed its body. Once striking distance had been attained, the vulpine would find herself in the receiving end of Crawling Chaos. Let's see what she would do about that.
Turn recap! —Amelie evolves to Enigmon H.
—Enigmon H tries to close the distance that separates it from Cion, then uses Crawling Chaos.
*Crawling Chaos: A crude, yet arguably effective ability. A combination of energy from this digimon's tendrils combined with the residual goo from its body amass into a bombardment of foreign matter divided across a large area, or concentrated into a smaller one. This attack deals a significantly higher amount of damage to any good-aligned enemies. Cooldown: 2 posts.
Relevant passive abilities: *Eldritch Might: The damage and effectiveness of all the abilities this digimon may perform are increased by 30%. *Warped Feedback: Despite its usual and relatively harmless constitution, this digimon's body has the ability to temporarily alter the data makeshift of anything it touches. Upon striking or being struck by an attack and for one post afterward, if the digimon who came in contact with Enigmon H would be healed or regain health in any way, they lose that much health instead. Attacks that would leech or drain vitality off Enigmon suffer the same consequences.
Keeping track of Ability stuff. —Cryptic Reclamation becomes replaced by Reprocess. *Cryptic Reclamation [Passive Ability]: This ability can be replaced by any passive ability this digimon has learned about. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Reprocess [Passive Ability]: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal its wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when it's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness.
—Stolen Memento becomes replaced by Unstable Manifestation. *Stolen Memento [Passive Ability]: This ability can be replaced by any passive ability this digimon has learned about. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Unstable Manifestation [Passive Ability]: Most digimons find out this digimon's data makeup is highly unstable, prolonged contact or even interacting with its form being a dangerous endeavor at best. Each time this digimon is struck by an attack, it can choose to increment the duration of an ongoing effect the attacking digimon has by one post. This is accompanied by a measure of psychical grief and physical pain for flavor purposes, mostly; this ability deals no significant damage.
—Willful Desire becomes replaced by Warped Feedback. *Willful Desire [Passive Ability - RAM Upgrade Giga]: This ability can be replaced by any passive ability this digimon has learned about. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Warped Feedback [Passive Ability]: Despite its usual and relatively harmless constitution, this digimon's body has the ability to temporarily alter the data makeshift of anything it touches. Upon striking or being struck by an attack and for one post afterward, if the digimon who came in contact with Enigmon H would be healed or regain health in any way, they lose that much health instead. Attacks that would leech or drain vitality off Enigmon suffer the same consequences.
—Eldritch Harvest becomes replaced by Crawling Chaos. *Eldritch Harvest: This ability can be replaced by any active ability this digimon has learned about. This ability is subject to the cooldown of the last ability that it mimicked. When this ability changes, it must remain as it is for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Reprocess has been active for 1 post. *Unstable Manifestation has been active for 1 post. *Warped Feedback has been active for 1 post. *Crawling Chaos has been active for 1 post. *Crawling Chaos's remaining cooldown: 0/2 posts. Enigmon H's 'known ability' list for the purposes of this battle. —Passive Abilities ——Reprocess: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal its wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when it's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness. ——Unstable Manifestation: Most digimons find out this digimon's data makeup is highly unstable, prolonged contact or even interacting with its form being a dangerous endeavor at best. Each time this digimon is struck by an attack, it can choose to increment the duration of an ongoing effect the attacking digimon has by one post. This is accompanied by a measure of psychical grief and physical pain for flavor purposes, mostly; this ability deals no significant damage. ——Warped Feedback: Despite its usual and relatively harmless constitution, this digimon's body has the ability to temporarily alter the data makeshift of anything it touches. Upon striking or being struck by an attack and for one post afterward, if the digimon who came in contact with Enigmon H would be healed or regain health in any way, they lose that much health instead. Attacks that would leech or drain vitality off Enigmon suffer the same consequences. ——New Perspectives: Once every three posts, this digimon can vanish briefly, then reappear at a nearby location, almost as if space itself had folded to its whims. This can be used to set up attacks or get out of harm's way more efficiently. —Active Abilities ——Adverse Conditions: This ability can only target an ongoing or persisting effect in an area or the environment. Enigmon can manipulate that ongoing effect by subtracting any of its effects or changing who are supposed to be affected by any of the ability's components. The changed ability can't be canceled until its full duration has run its course. Cooldown: 3 posts. ——Crawling Chaos: A crude, yet arguably effective ability. ——Rend and Tear: At plain sight, this attack looks senseless, yet powerful trashing with the digimon's tendrils, but there's much more to it than that. While a terrifying attack on its own right due to its sheer brutality, the main purpose isn't to damage. Whoever gets hit by it has their data makeup temporarily corrupted; for its duration, subjects take a moderate amount of damage per post, and become insensitive to any kind of ally-based abilities (shields, healing, temporary boosts and pretty much any kind of ability whose intent is to benefit themselves or allies, rather than to bring the pain to enemies. None of these abilities has any effect on the target for this attack's duration). Due to its nature, this attack gets through shields and other defensive measures with next to no effort. Duration: 3 posts. Cooldown: 3 posts. ——Warp and Bend: Eldritch energy accumulates within the digimon's tendrils, concentrating into a wave directed at an enemy. Deals a significant amount of damage if hits, then deals a moderate amount of damage per post, and nullifies any and all flight and/or swim-related abilities of the target (in other words, the target is not able to move through the air and/or water in any way while this effect lasts). Overland abilities are unaffected. Duration: 3 posts. Cooldown: 2 posts.

Oh dear... what kind of bizarre mess had she gotten herself into? First the fight with the delightful duo had been, in hindsight, extremely one-sided in her favor. The second clash was a disaster of rules being disobeyed, intentionally or not so, mixed with unpleasant mannerisms of a cheeky fighter she looked forward to never encounter again. And now the time for the third bout had arrived, and it really was not much better. With Owen out of the picture, there was truly nothing left that gave her reason to push onward. She neither cared for the bits, nor the material rewards. If anything, Cion would have loved to unleash and savor the true might she wielded against a magnificent foe of similar prowess. She remembered the glory in the last tournament where she and Silence, back then known as K, had contented as ascendants - inexperienced but inconceivably mighty. Years had passed since then, allowing the vulpine sentinel to fully attune to and master her potential through uncountable challenges, emotional and physical ordeals. But as this gratification was denied by a fiendish overlord with a MacGuffin at his disposal, so was this competition unfortunately no different. This crowd, its people goggling and exulting, would merely know a seventh of the power she was capable of mustering. Still they cheered as if her capabilities as a CyberSagitamon HM were something utterly outstanding. It was... certainly frustrating, which was a sentiment likely shared by other competitors who were inhibited by the regulations. Of course they were perfectly reasonable and understandable, but to someone who had endured countless trials to achieve their peak, it was aggravating to say the least. However, this was not her opponent's fault, hence the silver fennec saw no point in rudely antagonizing her temporary adversary. Even if she felt so, her ladylike grace and poise forbid her to lower herself to this level of infantile grousing. Acting like a petulant child - perish the thought! Shaking her head, she immediately cast aside these sentiments and turned to face her opponent for this round. Though barely familiar, the young madam was indeed an individual she recalled meeting. Something about working as a referee, although the details were lost to the seasons. "The pleasure is all mine, Ms Saboro." Cion responded kindly, respectfully bowing to the spirit-wielder as it was becoming to her concinnity. Nodding in agreement, the Mega braced her futuristic rifle and focused her aureate eyes on Amelie. "Indeed - let us." She continued, hiding her doubt that this battle was going to be worth eternizing in the anals of history... not that this world's inhabitants heeded the past. Regardless, she did not wish to disappoint her rival, nor the spectators. If this was bound to be a relatively tame squabble, then why not enjoy it for what it was? Permitting the transformation to occur, the bipedal, armored fox took in a deep breath and narrowed her gaze. Knowing that any other stipulations for this struggle were purposefully rendered invalid, a thousand ideas already came to her mind as how to properly approach the undertaking at hand. There was not anything for her to rely on except her own adaptability. Regrettably, against the strange entity that was appropriately named Enigmon, this was undoubtedly not easy. As the blue, transparent cape swayed in the gentle breez, adorning her chromatic armaments, the cyborg watched as her opposer dashed towards her, evidently craving to rend her. Her facial expression now hidden behind a mask of digizoid and holographic screens, she remained standing with absolute calm. Noticing the accumulating energies, it was simple to conclude that the upcoming attack was ranged, but required close proximity to the target nonetheless to be effective. Perfect... Observant of the eldritch creature's movements, it was in the moment that Amy launched her blasts that she would seek to counterattack this reckless attempt. With a snap of her gloved fingers, space-time around the Enigmon rapidly degraded and contorted itself. It was a gravitational snare of sufficient size, hazardous yet radiant in its translucent beauty. Heavy force tore at the paved floor beneath, rupturing the plates under the prey's feet, who was pulled downwards. This ought to make aiming, not to mention moving, unfeasible for a handful of valuable seconds. "Such plain directness I advise against! A victory I might not care for, but a quarter I will not grant either, dear." Cion chummily, but with the firmness of a mentor, counseled the wielder of spirits. In the same instance, the jet engines on her suit and boots flared up, propelling her backwards and high into the sky. It was obvious that she utilized the permission to ignore bounds to its fullest. Ultimately, what better position was there for a marksman than a floorless dome she could press herself against utilizing aforementioned engines? With her railgun resting on her arms and shoulder, she took careful aim at the hopefully immobilized target and pulled the secondary trigger to fire a beam of agitated particles. Fast, weak, effective for her setup. If nothing else, practicing patience and attrition were her greatest tools in this suboptimal shape. Eagerly she watched to see if the first headstone was destined to solidify itself on the dark warrior's frame. Well, so much for that. It seemed like Cion had managed to avoid the first attack of the match, and had counterattacked with her own own technique. Not an unexpected result, given that the first strike was meant more to test the waters than to be a real attempt at attacking. That was neither here nor there, however. What had been the retort issued to Enigmon H? A colorful display that aimed to restrain and immobilize her. An utter pity that the sightless aberration couldn't witness the show, even though she had no time for such a thing. Its pull was extremely strong, and although the digimon's movements were hindered, they weren't halted; not in the slightest. Understandably behind movement-wise, the monstrosity began to feast on the environments data as it prepared to take to the skies; it was a good thing that the first attack it had withstood wasn't very damaging. Healing back up was something fairly easy to accomplish in the face of that. What would happen then? While both Cion's energy singularity and subsequent shot had hit their mark, Enigmon's unstable data would begin to spread out, using the vulpine's energy as a medium to reach her and lay the groundwork of what would be a rather prolonged fight; a sudden jolt, not unlike an electrical surge, accompanied by relatively tame, yet noxious thoughts would invade her mind not a second after the abomination was struck. Nothing more than an annoyance, at least for now. Given how its foe had taken to the skies, it was only logical for Enigmon to follow, even if its current speed wasn't quite apt at keeping up with an unhindered foe; at the very least, the aberration would make sure that Cion didn't get too far away. Considering the abilities she had thus far, trying to remain at close quarters seemed like the most logical choice in this battle. Would that pay off? That was hard to know at the moment. For now, Enigmon would focus on giving chase to its foe. Reaching her seemed like an impossible proposition, at least until the various shackles it had been subjected to wore off. But... it wasn't like that mattered a whole lot at the moment. Once again, the digimon's body began to crackle with energy. It looked like the eldritch being was readying to launch another barrage of energy towards Cion, even though... the attack was actually never released. What could it be doing? That'd be found... soon enough.
Turn recap! —Enigmon H find itself on the receiving end of both Translucent Singularity and Particle Beam Storm. The non-damaging components of those attacks get drastically reduced thanks to Unnatural Endurance. Both have been added to Enigmon's H temporary ability list thanks to Assimilate.
—Given Cion damaged Enigmon H, she becomes afflicted both by Unstable Manifestation and Warped Feedback. The former extends the latter by 1 post.
—Enigmon H heals some of the damage it has sustained this turn thanks to Reprocess.
—Enigmon H begins to give chase to Cion. Midflight, it uses Warping Surge.
*Warping Surge: This ability is only usable after one of this digimon's attacks has been dodged/blocked/avoided. Beginning on the next post, and while this effect lasts Enigmon H's power and speed double and can't be reduced by outside sources, including abilities that would render it unable to move. Duration: 3 posts. Cooldown: 3 posts.
Relevant passive abilities: *Unnatural Endurance: Non-self-inflicted negative status effects are only half as effective on Enigmon H. If the status' effect can't be quantified, it lasts half as long (rounded down) instead.
*Assimilate: This digimon gains perfect understanding of the effects of any attack that it would be subject of. It can use this knowledge to fuel some of its other abilities.
*Reprocess: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal its wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when it's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness.
*Unstable Manifestation: Most digimons find out this digimon's data makeup is highly unstable, prolonged contact or even interacting with its form being a dangerous endeavor at best. Each time this digimon is struck by an attack, it can choose to increment the duration of an ongoing effect the attacking digimon has by one post. This is accompanied by a measure of psychical grief and physical pain for flavor purposes, mostly; this ability deals no significant damage. Keeping track of Ability stuff. *Reprocess has been active for 2 posts. *Unstable Manifestation has been active 2 posts. *Warped Feedback has been active for 2 posts. *Crawling Chaos has been active for 2 posts. *Crawling Chaos's remaining cooldown: 1/2 posts. *Warped Feedback's remaining duration: 0/2 posts. *Warping Surge's remaining duration: begins next post.
*Translucent Singularity: slowed by 50% for 0/1 posts. *Particle Bean Storm [1/3]: slowed slightly for 0/2 posts.

Post by Cion on Dec 8, 2019 15:22:17 GMT
Just as she had started to initiate her setup to give her opponent the challenge she and the crowd desired, Cion noticed the large screen of the arena revealing astoundingly delightful news. It appeared that Owen's previous foe had intentionally forfeited its victory, enabling the blue lap dog to advance to the semifinal of this tournament. This meant that the chance of clashing with him remained, which was the sole motivation and reason that made her change her current attitude. Although indeed indifferent towards the rewards one was granted for emerging as the winner, the opportunity to battle with him fueled her with unyielding fervor. Turning her attention back to the bizarre Enigmon, she raised an eyebrow behind her helmet upon witnessing the reality at hand, which unfortunately was her adversary ignoring the gravitational distortion of her singularity - at least to a noticeable extent. "Oh?" She let out under her breath, evidently surprised and curious how this was possible. Not even the mightiest foes she had encountered had been able to simply pull themselves out of her trap. The eldritch digimon in front of her was likely specialized in doing so. Gosh... this was bound to make things annoyingly complicated. Frowning, it was with sudden shock that the CyberSagitamon HM perceived the dark bolt that struck her armored frame. Groaning faintly, she felt no significant pain within her system. Instead, it was if she briefly lost her focus. Baring her teeth, it was easy to conclude that the spirit-wielder possessed an ability that was remarkably similar to her weak barrage of shots. So she was a tactician as well? It certainly was a quaint deviation from the uncountable warriors she had fight against before. Was this a struggle of wits rather than might then? Intriguing... Feeling fresh, autumnal air rushing through her nose and maw, the cyborg chose for a defensive approach to assure that her scheme would work in due time. Nodding, she braced herself and covered herself in a bluish, transparent barrier - in case her next move did not pan out as intended. Remaining still, she allowed her rival's airborne advancement. Ultimately, if she did nothing but run away, then the monstrous combatant would quickly realize that CQC was not the vulpine sentinel's forte - especially with her status effects being rendered suboptimal. She had to maintain a balance. Thankfully, this equilibrium included the secondary barrel of her trusted, futuristic rifle. Wondering if the lady enshrouded in darkness was fast enough to dodge the equivalent of railgun projectiles, she decided to aim straight for the chest. Usually, she focused on hamstringing limbs and joints, but with this... entity she fought, there was no point in doing so. Letting the low yet stacking electricity and minor slow do their deed sufficed in her eyes. Nonetheless - dealing with the apparently ridiculous amount of passive talents at the hybrid's disposal was going to be... an involved endeavor to put it kindly. Battle Log: Move: - Cion utilizes 'Data Recreation' , altering it with Combat-Passive Ability 'Adaptive Overheal' to shield herself against the equivalent of extreme wounds. - Cion utilizes Combat-Passive Ability 'Particle Beam Storm'

The battle raged on, even if right now, Amelie was satisfied with the outcome of the last couple of exchanged between Enigmon H and Cybersagitamon HM. Until now, its opponent had tried to restrain the aberration; to subdue it, to some extent. The plan hadn't been very successful, but that didn't mean the brunette could rest on her laurels. The fight was far from over. For now, the ability that Enigmon H had prepared moments ago finally began to manifest; for a split second, the tendrils that conformed the monster's body spasmed as its figure became blurry. After that idle moment, the abomination's movements became blisteringly fast, and completely unburdened by Cion's previous attempts to it down. To say the least, that power high nothing short of completely exhilarating; an ability that Amy hadn't been able to use in the past, and, that to say the least, felt really good. Enigmon H raced forward, a slight blur of decomposed data being the only indicator of where the digimon had been moments ago. It was a matter of a couple of seconds until the distance that separated itself and its opponent became non-existent, and not only that; it seemed like the sentinel had attempted what, in hindsight had been a pretty poor decision. The healing energies she had summoned would backfire badly, damaging her instead of their intended purpose; it would be on her whether to stop that action or not before the damage became too great, however. What about the aberration, then? It would find itself on the receiving end of the bullet that followed that attempt at healing, even if not deterred by it. Being so close, Enigmon attempted to mercilessly trash the Cybersagitamon in a messy display of both power and brutality. Would Cion be able to defend herself from the attack? How would she fare? Time to find out.
Turn recap! —Warping Surge takes effect in this post. Enigmon H becomes unaffected by any attack or ability that would lower her speed during its duration, and gains a considerable boost to both her speed and power.
—Given Cion damaged Enigmon H, she becomes afflicted by Unstable Manifestation, extending Warped Feedback's duration by 1 post.
—Enigmon H heals some of the damage it has sustained this turn thanks to Reprocess.
—Using its newfound speed, Enigmon closes the gap that separates her from Cion and uses Rend and Tear on her.
*Rend and Tear: At plain sight, this attack looks senseless, yet powerful trashing with the digimon's tendrils, but there's much more to it than that. Upon striking or being struck by an attack and for one post afterward, if the digimon who came in contact with Enigmon H would be healed or regain health in any way, they lose that much health instead. Attacks that would leech or drain vitality off Enigmon suffer the same consequences.
This ability is subject to the cooldown of the last ability that it mimicked. When this ability changes, it must remain as it is for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.

It appeared that her unorthodox yet evidently mighty opponent was somewhat mistaken in her judgement. While it was true that Cion utilized energies meant to heal those who were injured, she twisted and altered them so such an extent that they had manifested themselves into a barrier that covered her powered armor. Nothing had touched her flesh, much less the data that circulated through her fibers of code and raw information, that could be corrupted. It was a stroke of fortune that she had not yet suffered damage for neither combatant knew a lot about the other. However, this bliss was likely bound to run out in due time, for the challenge she faced was unlike anything else she had encountered before. Amelie's spirit was not a tactician nor a brute... it was like a malady that had assumed the identity of a digimon. Amorphous, tainted and noxious - characteristics that were an extreme contrast to its wielder. The Enigmon's H sudden and enormous burst of speed made the vulpine cyborg gasp quietly, as was it simply ignoring the weak yet crucial beam of solidified energy that was now stuck in its tendriled body. Nonetheless, its relentless onslaught was something to be dreaded, and given the utter incomprehensibility of what it was capable of, the assault proceeded as intended. Although soaring along the vast, transparent dome of the Colosseum, completely dodging the hasty abomination was unfeasible. Groaning, the CyberSagitamon HM felt its scoria affecting her system anew - expected from a putrid foe such as her adversary, but highly unpleasant regardless. Detesting this dreadful tournament more with every passing second, she contemplated if a chance to clash with Owen was worth this horrendous affair. Inwardly, she hoped that the blue puppy lost too, so that for once, she would have a proper engagement at full strength - if there was a match for the third place that was. If not... then she had to settle things under different circumstances. Abruptly slowing down, Cion pushed herself off the cupola and dashed with all the velocity her gadgets were able to muster towards the actual battleground of the arena. Aiming for its center, she unleashed a stream of binary at it. Transforming the plateau rapidly, a large part of it started to resemble something straight from a third-class Sci-Fi rip-off. With azure particles and polygons replacing the stony texture of the floor, she crash-landed with her back into the zone. Sliding over it for several seconds as her armaments emitted uncountable sparks, the tenacious sentinel nevertheless aimed her futuristic railgun at the probably approaching opposer. As she had done before, she only pulled the secondary trigger for her derivative attack. Buying herself precious moments was the sole thing left at her disposal, even if it she had to insufficiently utilize abilities that were invaluable in real battles, particularly when both sides consisted of multiple participants. She of course was not a superb duelist in her current form, far from it, but this was getting ridiculous. An ancient protector of the digital world who had prevailed over innumerable enemies and trials bestrode by a child with an eldritch totem. No... this fiddle-faddle would not end with her complete humiliation, even if the powers that be once again craved her throes, ... "But how?" The existence of such a mistake was indeed something questionable, yet not very pertinent to the matter at hand. The bottom line was that, regardless of that action's result, the battle had to go on. After its attack collided with the vulpine sentinel, Amelie felt that she was firmly in the driver's seat when it came to this challenge. I didn't mean she could lie on her laurels, though; one attack was far from the totality of the fight, and while the damage that Cion had sustained seemed to be quite sizable, it was far from being a permanent victory. As the air around the aberration withered, such a moment was savored for a fraction of a second as the before diving down behind its opponent. The Hulking monstrosity's body began to rush in Cion's direction, chasing after her. Direct contact wasn't needed this time, and even it amounted to an old tactic being used for the second time, it might prove more effective than the first time around, considering the circumstances. Thus, rushing head-on towards its opponent without caring about the oncoming attack coming its way or the fancy new battlefield, Enigmon H advanced towards Cion's current location, seizing its speed to advance while giving her the least amount of chances to react. For the second time, energy and matter began to converge into a foul projectile that was lobbed at an amazing speed towards the guardian. Crude as a tactic? For sure, but the Enigmon variant knew that it was supposed to be the attacker in this situation, and every second given up in refining its attacking methods was a second being given to its opponent to set up. Giving her no quarter seemed like the best approach, at least for now.
Turn recap! —Given Cion damaged Enigmon H, she becomes afflicted by Unstable Manifestation, extending both Warped Feedback's and Rend and Tear's duration by 1 post.
—After getting the hit from Cion's railgun, Enigmon H heals some of the damage it has sustained this turn thanks to Reprocess.
—Once again, Enigmon closes the gap that separates her from Cion, but this time, it uses Crawling Chaos on her.
*Unnatural Endurance: Non-self-inflicted negative status effects are only half as effective on Enigmon H. If the status' effect can't be quantified, it lasts half as long (rounded down) instead.
*Reprocess: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal its wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when it's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness.
*Rend and Tear has been active for 2 posts. *Crawling Chaos's remaining cooldown: 0/2 posts. *Warped Feedback's remaining duration: 3/4 posts. *Warping Surge's remaining duration: 2/3 posts. *Rend and Tear's remaining duration: 1/4 posts.
*Particle Bean Storm [3/3]: slowed slightly for 0/2 posts.

Gasping as she lay on her back, the terrain beneath her cold and hard in spite of the layer of safety that it was covered in, her aureate eyes widened upon beholding the carpet bombing of dark matter that was headed her way. Quickly tumbling backwards and leaping into a stand, the vulpine sentinel braced herself for the impact by covering her front with her armored arms. Nonetheless, as the booming noises and violent forces of oily explosions tore at her body and essence, she was filled with uncanny pangs she had seldom experienced before. The attacks of the entity that named itself Enigmon were truly an enigma. They felt parasitic in nature, yet equally as destructive - not unlike the crimson abomination most called the D-Reaper. Hence, even with the area under her feet that provided a substantial amount of heightened protection, the air strike left her staggering and coughing once it subsided. Taking several, slow steps forward, a maelstrom of contradictory emotions clashed within her mind. Fury, desperation and confusion tainted her face, which fortunately was hidden behind a veil of alloys and glass. She was... atypically exasperated. "Fine! No more pretenses!" The humanoid fennec exclaimed, the rancor in her often soft and charming voice clear as day. Thankfully, in their utter recklessness and desire to dominate the offensive, Amelie and her spirit had seemingly neglected their defense completely. All three beams had struck their target, solidifying inside its limbs, apparently without it realizing that they had done so. Good... at least she had a single chance to emerge victoriously from this unpleasant endeavor. Pressing the primary trigger of her futuristic rifle, a sudden, massive energy surge manifested itself around its barrel and open reactor. Again, it resembled the most common clichés of Sci-fi fiction, but this instance was in fact quite real. "Accelerated Particle Storm!" She bellowed ferociously. Aiming her signature weapon towards the sky, a sound akin to thunder echoed throughout the arena. A titanic projectile of concentrated data was unleashed by the gun, which rapidly soared upwards. Reaching its peak, it collapsed in on itself. With an almost blinding flash of light, a literal downpour of uncountable beams was released. Like a rainstorm of hot, razor-sharp glass, they notched the floor and walls. Though leaving the person who let them loose unharmed, the intention was of course to lacerate the empowered girl, too. Which was why Cion stared at the eldritch digimon with ablaze fervor as the lodged projectiles stuck in her opponent started to glow. Emitting a golden web that was meant to extremely impede the prey's mobility, all the hunter could do was behold the spectacle and plead with fate to finally give her a sign that her struggles were not in vain. ... Soon, she would learn that it sadly was. Battle Log: Move: - Cion utilizes 'Accelerated Particle Storm' to deal high damage, severely impede mobility, and slightly impede vision. - Cion cannot utilize Combat-Passive Ability 'Particle Beam Storm'

As far as the aberration could feel, things were progressing at a pretty interesting pace; she knew that, as the battle progressed, that also meant Cion's plan would be put on in motion; what was the fennec up to? Once her previous attack hit, that'd become more than obvious, though. A single shot that exploded into a plethora of sharpened slivers; Enigmon itself could feel it in its consciousness that the following attack wouldn't be easy —if not outright impossible— to avoid even if it commited the obvious mistake that was trying to. Simple? Yes? Effective? At least thus far, it's been. Predictable? Probably, but it wasn't like Amelie had many options right now. Thus, the abomination found itself charging head on towards Cion in the wake of the Accelerated Particle Storm. One thing could be said for certain regarding the attack itself, however; it packed quite the punch. Enigmon H would've been in a lot of trouble if it weren't for the fact that its form was relatively undamaged and that its body was still functional besides a sudden attempt at snaring. Otherwise, weathering this attack would've been a more difficult, if not impossible ordeal. Yet, there was it. In a flash, the environment deteriorated slightly as the abomination recklessly rushed towards its opponent with intentions of causing as much damage as possible on its next move; which was what would happen... if the attack itself managed to hit, that is. As the distance between the two digimon was closed, one of the Aberration's hulking limbs briefly changed colors into an ominous black hue as it sharpened to a nigh impossible point. Once they were face to face, the tendril would shot ahead, its intent being to perforate the guardian's body in hopes of inflicting a critical wound. Would that be successful? Would Cion see through it? That was yet to be seen.
Turn recap! —Enigmon H gets hit by Accelerated Particle Storm, causing a fair bit of damage.
—Given Cion damaged Enigmon H, she becomes afflicted by Unstable Manifestation, extending both Warped Feedback's and Rend and Tear's duration by 1 post.
—After getting the hit, Enigmon H heals some of the damage it has sustained this turn thanks to Reprocess.
—Enigmon closes the gap that separates her from Cion, and then uses Slaughter on her.
*Slaughter: In an attempt at finishing an opponent off, Enigmon H tries to brutally impale them, dealing damage equal to twice the total amount of damage they've received since the fight began. Damage that was healed still counts for this ability's purposes. This move ignores any and all defensive measures that may be used against it, and, if successful at defeating an opponent, it negates any kind of ability that may bring them back to fighting shape. Cooldown: Once per thread. 5 posts if it fails to hit its intended target.
Relevant passive abilities: *Eldritch Might: The damage and effectiveness of all the abilities this digimon may perform are increased by 30%.
*Unnatural Endurance: Non-self-inflicted negative status effects are only half as effective on Enigmon H. If the status' effect can't be quantified, it lasts half as long (rounded down) instead.

Its effect ends at the beginning of next turn. *Rend and Tear's remaining duration: 2/5 posts.

This thing... did it actually care for anything that was imposed on it? There were no emotions, no words, no reactions, no pain... nothing but blind frenzy and the desire to emerge victoriously. This amalgamation of matter and data she fought was bereft of either aspects. There was neither a human nor a digimon in this barely sentient infestation. The resemblance to the D-Reaper and its spawn was uncannily blood-curdling. This entity truly lived up to its name - it was an enigma. Unfortunately, this was definitely to her detriment. A mask of alloys shrouded the vulpine sentinel's panic as she made a single step backwards. Grasping the fiend's relentless onslaught and the danger it posed, while also recognizing that defensive and manipulative maneuvers were pointless, there was only one option left at her disposal. Nearly stock-still from trepidation, her thin fingers twitched, pressing a button that activated the futuristic rifle's secondary weapon systems. The idea she pursued was undoubtedly bold, if not reckless, but at this point she saw no alternative. This had to end - regardless of what it took. Biting her lower lip, the humanoid fox exploited the Enigmon H's impotent, imprudent rage - possibly for a final time. With the open reactor of her railgun emitting an aura of blue sparks and volatile hues, she waited for the second in which their faces almost touched. She was... scared; a sentiment she had not felt in an eternity. Even in this supposedly sportsmanlike competition, the creature that Amelie had become was frighteningly vicious. However... this was not the first instance in which she had put everything on the line to vanquish a feral beast. "Shock Blast..." Cion whispered, the area dead silent as the night as she pulled the trigger. With the barrel pointing at their feet, a literal thunderbolt dashed out of it. Impacting the ground within the span of a millisecond, both combatants were abruptly engulfed in a blinding flash of light. This gleam quickly changed to a burst of concentrated electricity that tore itself through the transformed battleground like a landslide. As loud as growling thunder, the released wave of force fissured stone and lacerated grass. It was a true fortune that the spectators were protected by a potent barrier. Yet as suddenly as the destruction bequeathed its marks upon the Colosseum, it ceased. Pushed away from the explosion's center towards the arena's edge was the bipedal fennec, trembling and gasping fiercely. Resting on a knee, her helmet broke into innumerable pieces, revealing the warrior's face and expression of agony beneath. Attempting to stand up properly, she let out a piercing yelp, failing to accomplish this minor deed. Jittery hands reached to the right side of her chest and clasped it. Shattered armor and lancinated flesh were witnesses of a strike that had narrowly missed her most vital areas. Nonetheless, the visible suffering she endured publicly was grave indeed - something which was attested to by the audience's unsettled silence. The rapid beating of her core, her blurry vision and a hair-raising tinnitus plagued her body and spirit alike. Her golden irises swayed, filled with sullenness and ordeal, as they fell onto the large screen. Her eyelids widened violently as her mind entered a state of emptiness. Her struggles had been in vain... Owen had resigned and exited the compound. She... was alone, and without purpose... again. Cion did not move. She did not blink. She did not breath. It was as if all life had absconded this embodiment of pointlessness and torment. Nothingness - this was the sole aspect of gratefulness she received for her endless, unyielding passion and sacrifices. A single request to fate, but that was already too much to plead for. So why did she fight? Why did she continue to endure this gruesome cycle? There was never going to be an ending. As Daemon had aptly described it, the world seemed as if it was merely there to eventually savor your fall. A gaze of absolute, hopeless tiredness shifted to scan her nebulous surroundings. It was not a search for her temporary rival of this meaningless struggle, but a reason to justify existence. Yet what she beheld were... supposed people... those who did not act, and those who relished the figurative bloodshed. "Digital monsters... indeed..." Quietly escaped her lips, which was soon followed by a hushed chuckle. It continued echoing perpetually. Had that attempt at relentlessly advancing towards its adversary been successful? With Cion, it had proven to be something hard to discern. But, in a sense, Amelie had liked that aspect of this battle; while her opponent's unique fighting style had put her on the defensive since the beginning, she had managed to be an astute combatant and had given no quarter. The brunette could respect that, even despite her obviously barbaric methods at trying to shatter such a defense. The plan had been to overwhelm the fennec's defense with as much power as possible, while giving her the least amount of chances to actually set up and counterattack. Had it been successful? She could say so, even though things were taking a bit of a dicey turn. Enigmon's own power boost wasn't effective anymore, and while Cion seemed to be worse for the wear, there was no way to truly evaluate the extent of her condition in detail. What could be observed, however, was that the guardian was attempting what looked like a devastating close-ranged attack. Deciding to cut its losses on that very instant and on a sudden change of plans, Enigmon H vanished from sight on that very instant, only to reappear some distance away, by the border of the arena. Sure, some damage was inflicted to the magnificent attack's radius, but at least the aberration had luckily escaped the brunt of it. In a flash, the nearby fauna withered while the digimon's senses locked on its enemy; the mammal seemed to be really worse from the wear, yet seemingly unwilling to give up. Was that some kind of deception, or was something as simple as a coup de grace needed to end this fight? In any case, that'd be found out very soon. The two main tendrils of the aberration began to amass energy for a brief moment, before releasing it in the form of a sharp, yet decidedly fast-moving and painful ray. It carried enough momentum and power to knock a weakened foe for good, so... that'll do the trick.
Turn Recap! —Enigmon uses New Perspectives to avoid the brunt of Shock Blast.
—From its place, Enigmon fires off Warp and Bend in Cion's direction.
*Warp and Bend: Eldritch energy accumulates within the digimon's tendrils, concentrating into a wave directed at an enemy.
*Reprocess: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal its wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when it's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness.

This is accompanied by a measure of psychical grief and physical pain for flavor purposes, mostly; this ability deals no significant damage.
