Young Shino had only been in the care of her uncle for about a month and was already a curious girl despite the tragedies she had endured. Her parents' death and then the brief time in foster care. Though she was still 10 years old, she was unnaturally smart and clever. For the time during her stay with her uncle, he took a few weeks off to take care of her. For the time she was quiet and kept to things like books and other items of interest. Most girls would want to play with dolls or play as a princess. However, Shino was not like such girls. Her interest was more into computers and machines. Her uncle would find her fiddling with gadgets around his house, looking at robots and other stuff especially when they went into places like Akihabara. In that first week, he knew the young girl was extremely talented.
One such day after, he thought it was a good idea to give the girl some fresh air. The uncle sat at a nearby bench as he also had his phone on hand, to keep in touch if a client needed him. He allowed Shino to roam a bit around the park-- seeing the playground and surrounding area as free places to play.
"Don't wander too far from the benches okay, Shino?" Sojiro said, giving the girl a kind pat on the head.
"Don't worry," she said, her voice pleasant but a bit passive. "I won't." She said as she made her way into the playground.
Though at that time of day, no other families or kids were around. They were in school and the day was for them to get more acquainted with one another. But even a child-like Shino needed some time for herself to run around and blow off steam. That of course was brief. She had gone down the slide twice and already felt a bit bored by it.
Looking up to the sky, she soon saw a passing-by plane in the sky, leaving a trail of smoke behind it-- as most jets did when they flew. The metal of the cityscape also beyond the trees of the park interested her. Her keen mind was already working on ideas she had, as she already seen robots and people who built them. If she could, she would have to talk to Sojiro about maybe getting parts to build one.
It was at that moment something strange happening. The sky flickered for a brief moment as if something tore through the sky. A rift of some kind of pixilated pattern formed just a few meters overhead, off to the right. From it-- something hard dropped out of the tear, crashing into the bushes off the side of the park.
Having saw the whole thing, Shino looked on in awe and interest, as the seam swiftly closed as well. She paused as she sat at the edge of the slide. Slowly, she turned to her uncle. For the moment, he had received a text on his phone and was answering it. Despite his warning to not go too far, Shino was curious.
Sliding down the plastic slide swiftly, she quickly moved towards the bushes to see what fell. She pushed past it, trying to get close. "Hello? Is someone there?" she asked, concerned what would be there.
After a moment, she found it, sticking half out of one of the bushes. Her eyes widened with confusion at what she found. An egg-- a large one of some kind, marked with odd little lightning-bolt shapes on it like stripes. The oddest egg she ever saw and the biggest.
She slowly approached it, curious at to what it was. The thought of not to touch it didn't even enter her mind as she reached over... only to have the egg jump. "EEEK!" She cried, falling back onto her bottom as she saw the egg shake a bit, clearly something inside. In a matter of seconds, it shook-- and cracked to reveal an object inside. The object had an eye!
With a final crack, the eggshells shattered around it, revealing an oddly round shape object that tumbled out and fell right near Shino's feet-- with an odd string attached to it. She blinked as she saw it and sat up. The object was a strange black ball, with the same string attached to its bottom and with two metallic protrusions sticking from its form like ears or horns. What made her gasp a bit, was the 'eye' was not just one, but three-- with three different colored limbs.
"Mrrrk..." it beeped, like some kind of robotic sound. Its eyes blinked at different times, as if adjusting its sight as it soon rolled over-- catching Shino in her sight.
"Um... hello?" Shino asked, her voice soft and nervous.
On closer look, she recognized the shape. THe odd machine was shaped like a bomb-- like one from the cartoons, and that made her a bit nervous. But bombs didn't move around like this, or come from strange eggs. The little bomb-shaped robot didn't seem to talk in words, but gave soft 'beeps and boops' like a robot in those science fiction movies that were actual characters.
The little bomb gave some soft hops upright, now in a position where the 'face' looked towards Shino as she slowly stood up. It made a 'whooo' sound as it regarded how tall she was by comparison to itself.
"Are you... a robot? I hope you're not a bomb like you look. " Shino asked.
The little bomb-creature cocked its head to Shino, but as it did that-- the fuse on its 'tail' suddenly ignited right before her. Her eyes widened as the fuse traveled up towards it.
"GHAAAAAA!!" She screamed, afraid that it would go off. It reached thte end then...
POOF!! No bang went off, and the smoke was white. She panicked for a moment, but realize that nothing had happened. As the smoke cleared, the little Bommon was still there, in one piece. It shook and gave little 'beep-beep-beep' sounds, which she could only assume was laughter from the creature.
"HEY!" she scolded, standing up with hands on her hips. "That isn't funny!"
