The ride to the station nearest Yayogi Library was nerve wracking to say the least. While Natane was never fully comfortable crammed into public transportation, she was doubly so when her bag was hiding two very strange creatures that could cause a serious commotion if they were seen. Still, the Yayogi Library was one of her favourites in the area, and so the trip was in her mind still worth it to reach the wonderful, quiet sanctuary of that place. Pulling into the station and disembarking prompted a sigh of immense relief to leave her as she exited the cramped confines of the rail car for the slightly less cramped station and then, the slightly less cramped streets as she briskly made her way to the library. If she had time after Natane would likely spend time in the park across the street as well, being surrounded by greenery of any kind always did wonders for her nerves. But for now her mission was to see what if anything she may be able to learn about what had happened to her in the last 24 hours.
Her hopes were not high as she entered the building, Lanata and Lutea peeking carefully out of her bag to survey their surroundings with wide eyes. Only those who were used to keeping an eye out for odd things were likely to notice them, and even so it would be hard as Natane made her way to a computer directory to start her search.

Hmmm, library, the place where she could read as she please... actually, Karin just want to check if there are any new books out here. One that related to fantasy or whatever... One that can let her relax. She would love to buy some in shops later if she feel the story is good enough. By the way, this time around Freya did not stay inside the D-Nexus, her Digivice, but instead holosuited right beside her.
"...I still wonder if you have to wear dress every single time though..."
"Ara~? Dresses suits me better than anything else, so it can't be helped that I want to dress with normal looking dresses at times, you know?"
"...Well, yeah, but..."
...How to say, it's distracting. Freya's holosuit, like many choices of holosuits, is based on very attractive oneesan in her mid twenties after all. Her hair is flowing and brown, with rose on her chest and all that... Yeah it's honestly a bit distracting. But either way, she immediately goes to the gardening section.
"...Ah, over there, that's a Digimon, no... two?" Freya commented offhandedly "Sounds like someone new."
"...Could you not casually talk about new people like that? Or actually, I wonder if her Digivice would beep, telling her that we're here..."
Thankfully, Karin's did not beep because she put it on silence, but she reckon there are no other Digivice that can kept itself in silence when there are other approaching chosen... Well, she guess she'll just play it safe and... let's see, read something new? A good fantasy book would be enjoyable after all. Meanwhile, Freya took her "rose gardening for advanced breeder" and sat right beside her partner. Time to jot notes, for her roses!

Natane was perusing the library catalog, digging through saerch results for anything that may be promising and coming up empty with each search. She'd been at it for about half an hour or so when a beep from her pocket interrupted her train of thought, She paused before pulling out the odd... What has Lanata called it? A Digivice? She pulled the Digivice from her pocket to figure out why it had suddenly made a noise, finding on the screen a directional arrow with a small icon underneath that she didn't understand. Frowning under her mask, she shrugged and began scanning the library in the direction the arrow was pointing, trying to figure out what the heck was happening now. As she was looking around, she felt something inside her bag tap against her side.
"There's another Digimon near!" Lanata hissed up at her, quiet enough that Natane barely heard her herself. "They're really close,we wouldn't feel them otherwise."
"They have to know we're here too." Lutea's voice was even quieter than Lanata's. "They might be dangerous."
"If they wanted to hurt us they'd do it already since they know we're here. Let's go say hi!"
Natane meanwhile had been waling through the stacks in the direction her Digivice was pointing, curious in spite of herself. While the idea of approaching and talking to a total stranger was... daunting to say the least, if they had a better grasp of the situation she should at least try to ask. Besides, she had her mask on, and if she needed them her goggles were in her bag, so she should be able to manage a bit of social interaction.
At last an odd looking pair came into view that seemed to be exactly who her Digivice and her new partners were detecting. Honestly Natane felt pretty intimidated by them, but then again social stuff never was her forte. One of the girls looks almost like an odd take on a cat and flower based punk theme, while the other was just.... A bit too much? Like she wasn't quite real, she was too something to seem quite normal. Nervous, Natane approached the pair.
"Um. Hello."

"Ara, they approaching us, I think~" Freya commented at Karin, who looked up and found... slightly older person with quite quirky looking appearance... mask and goggles? It does looked kind of suspicious. Not that she's not quirky herself with her cat earphone and punk-looking clothes and Freya with... dress that probably sells the "elegance" too much with the random roses... But eh, she guess today is a talk of the quirky one. Freya simply smiled at the human and politely nodded at her as a greeting. Karin meanwhile... "Hello, it's alright, please join us." ...If anyone asked if there is any problem, she guess it's better if she said that this lady is her friend or something. "Am I correct to assume that you came because of..." Karin pulled out her Digivice from her pocket. The D-Nexus, it's definitely different looking than most other Digivice. It looked as if the girl is just taking some look at her messages, but honestly, she's just making sure that the lady in front of her knows that she's doing the steps right. "Why don't we begin with a little introduction? My name is Takamiya Karin, over here is my partner, Freya." "Very nice to meet you... three I'm guessing?" Freya added. There are two Digital signature after all.

Oh my god they were talking. They were talking, calm down this was going to be fine. The girl took an object from her pocket that looked almost like an especially fancy cell phone, although Natane got the sense that it wasn't what it looked like. She pulled her own Digivice from her pocket briefly to show it before slipping it back out of sight, something told her it might be best not to just wander around with it in full view of everyone. And as the introductions began and the other girl noted that Natane wasn't alone despite neither Lanata nor Lutea being in view, she squared her shoulders and shored up her resolve to have this interaction. This was not going to be a mistake. Natane wouldn't let it.
"Yes, there's three of us. My name is Hirayama Natane. They're Lanata and Lutea." Her voice was soft, a bit hesitant, and slightly muffled by the mask she wore, but the fact that she was able to speak as normally as this was a win in Natane's book. "I'm unsure about how this is supposed to go? I only met them.... maybe ten hours ago?"
Her bag rustled and Lanata and Lutea popped their heads up under the flap, still mostly covered but now visible to the other two across from them. "Hi! I'm Lanata, You're a Digimon right?" The Tanemon's eyes were fixed on Freya. "You're not going to try to hurt Natane are you? You seem like you might be nice so I hope you won't. I'm not very strong yet but I'd still fight you."
"I'm Lutea. Nice to meet you." A direct contrast with her talkative sister, the Yokomon's voice was even softer than her Tamers.

"Ufu, I don't think you'll get any sort of information about this by going to library, but... I must admit that as long as you go out, you usually will encounter a chosen one way or another," Freya quipped. "Yes, I think that means us. Congratulations, we're actually sort of experienced, kind of!"
"Experienced, sure, but why must you dress so gaudily?"
"Oh why, I'm simply at home with these clothes more, albeit..." She looked around and made sure no one saw. Freya's figure glitched for a second and a plainer looking blouse and long skirt appeared in place of her dress. "Would this looks better?"
"I guess so...? Either way... No, we're not here to hurt you or anything. Frankly, we're just here... to kill some time before going to the other side again."
"But we'll gladly help you if anything! First, in this ten hours, does any of your partner explained what's up and all?" Freya asked.
She could be wrong, but sometimes Digimons are equipped with more information about partnership. She have no idea if these two in front of her, the Tanemon and Pyocomon have such information equipped in them, so just in case, she'll ask.

"I knew it was a... long shot. But I had to try just to be sure." Natane was shifting from foot to foot, clearly a bit uncomfortable, although the reason behind it wouldn't be obvious to most people. "Is that what we're called? Chosen ones? They said I was a Tamer or something like that."
"Tamer."
The brief bit of banter between Karin and Freya, and the resultant change in Freya's attire, caught her entirely off guard. While her eyes were visible and thus their widening in shock could be seen, the rest of her face was hidden by her mask. Natane was forever grateful for her mask making it harder to read her face, it disguised a lot and made things so much easier for her in the long run.Lanata and Lutea were equally surprised by the shift, though only Lanata voiced it.
"Whoa that was really cool, how'd you do that?" If the Tanemon hadn't been hidden in a bag at the moment, she probably would be bouncing around in excitement.
In response to their question about what Natane knew, she made a vague gesture with her hand at the library around them. "I know apparently they're my partners, I'm something called a Tamer, and I have a Digivice. That's all. I was hoping to find clues about what was going on or at least confirm that I wasn't going crazy here." Her shoulders were rounded and hunched forward a bit as she looked around, still keeping her voice down both out of reverence for being in a library and due to the nature of the discussion. It was shocking to her that her anxiety hadn't already begun to rise by now, this was the longest conversation she had had in a long time. Maybe the surreal nature of what they were talking about helped? God knows she was awful at small talk and niceties.

"A lady's secret," Freya answered while putting her index finger on her lips then winked teasingly "just kidding, we should probably pick a better venue though... I wonder if there is a private learning room or something in this library that we can possibly borrow, or go to a karaoke venue or something.... Digimons are supposed to be rather a secret you see, But don't worry, you're not going crazy."
"Well, that's right... um... let's see... ah right, do you have this thing then?" Karin showed a picture of D-Terminal on her Digivice. "I'll send you a message, that way we can... talk without people knowing much. You should have one of them by default, but there are some people who does not have them... If you don't, well... I guess we can just send those to your phone... but uh... please keep it at silence.
...At any rate, please calm down. For the meantime, let's see... Try adding blackrosecat_karin@xxx and see if it responds."

"I think they have study rooms for use." Natane wasn't sure of course, but it couldn't hurt to check. A karaoke joint wouldn't do anything for her nerves. "I had a feeling they were supposed to be secret when there was nothing about them online." When Karin pulled up the image of the D-Terminal however, Natane recognized it immediately and reached into the side pouch of her bag, careful not to disturb her partners in the main pocket.
"This? It was in my bag this morning." She fiddled with it for a moment before managing to turn it on, quickly searching for the volume controls to silence the machine. Lanata and Lutea had retreated back into the depths of her bag, whispering from the pair barely audible as they discussed... something. There were a few functions on it, but the only one that stood out as a possible conversation app was something called Tamer Net. "Is this it?" She opened it and went through setting up her own ID and adding Karin's.
"Can we go somewhere with food? We're getting hungry Nane!"
"Please Nane."
"Nane?"
"It's a nickname!"
Natane turned a slightly helpless look to Freya and Karin. "They eat so much."

Good, so she does have one. First and foremost, Karin immediately write something there.
Please stay silent for the meantime until we got a study room. Based on your looks I felt you have some anxiety? I'm not a social person either, so you're not alone on that. Now, if it's possible, please take off some of that... whichever makes you less conflicted. I'll begin the explanation soon.
Fast typer huh? Karin practically sent her message in seconds.
Somewhere with food?
Technically Tanemon and Pyocomons only need soil and water. Good soil and water are great for them, especially one high in compost. Just look for way to grow up plants, and usually that's enough unless they want something more...solid. I do have some packs of soil with me, but I don't think it's a good idea to do that in library like this.
Freya soon returned. "They said we can use one in thirty minutes."
"Right. Thank you."
At any rate, where should she begin? Right, so... tell me what do you know other than what you told me already. Have they told you about Digital World? Or about... what they want out of you or something? Just let me tell you though. Being chosen are simply like winning a lottery. No one telling you what you should do other than to raise those two with you, and... I guess go on an adventure.

Natane watched as Karin typed away and watched the chat room opened between them light up with messages. So they weren't gonna talk out loud without privacy huh? Fine by her, communicating over text was so much easier than actually speaking aloud. She could already feel herself relaxing a bit and reached up to pull off her goggles, tucking them away in her bag. The mask stayed though, she needed it still. With one hand still lingering in her bag and idly patting Lutea and Lanata to quiet them, she took a seat nearby and began to compose her reply.
If what they need most is good soil and water and sunlight, I can handle that easily. My whole apartment is basically a garden. The do seem to like eating actual food however, I shared most of my breakfast wit them this morning. After they ate it they turned into how they look now and started talking. Can all Digimon do that? Before they were smaller and looked like little seeds with faces, it was very cute.
She jumped a little and then smiled, feeling her two little companions nuzzle into her hand on either side. It was odd how close she already felt with them, but maybe that was a side effect of this whole 'being chosen' thing.
I don't know anything aside from what I already told you. They don't remember a lot either, not even how they knew what they told me. They just... don't want to be alone. Even when I was just going to another room they insisted on following and not letting me out of their sight.

Hmmm, time for more explanation. Karin typed more away, while looking at the clock. So approximately 29 minutes from now. She hope she could give enough reply for the meantime, at least until she can sneak in some food or something for the two. At any rate...
Right, so what you have on hand are Digimons, short for Digital Monsters. What you encounter previously are called Baby I stage, the lowest stage of Digimon, minus the egg stage. The egg stage, well, they're in egg form. Regardless of how they looked, like human, like mammalian, insects, flower, fishes, or even machine or alien, all Digimons are born from eggs. Normally, after eating a bit, Baby Digimon evolved to next stage... In this case, the Baby II stage, yes, the second baby stage. It's where they can talk and demands more from you. If you think this is a lot then I guess you'll be in for surprise one you saw what they're able to eat at later stages.
...It can be easily triple to five times of that meal. Digimon needs their food because they're growing, and they use that energy to function more than what human can. Technically, I guess they're like animals, except far more active with humans level of sleep schedule?
Also, you can treat being partnered as being with someone who will share life with you forever, I guess... I don't know if there are any closer analogy... but you can say they exist for you, and they... well, they're here to protect you, and in return, you need to love them, like they're part of yourself, I guess, except one with their own mind, needs, and goal. They're nothing like lovers, though. More like soulmates I guess?

Well that was.... rather a lot of information in one go. Natane found herself needing to take a moment to process it all. The fact that Digimon needed a lot of food wasn't an issue, she could certainly afford to keep Lanata and Lutea well fed. No the fact that gave her pause was that apparently she now had people she would be sharing her life with into the foreseeable future. After she had left home, she hadn't really thought that she would ever have anyone who would be by her side for a very long time, and yet now according to Karin she had two partners who would stick with her for life. It was.... well to call it a lot would be an understatement.
Well feeding them shouldn't be a problem, so that's good. I'll need to draft up a budget for later as they grow I suppose. So they'll definitely get bigger then? How many stages are there? If they get bigger how do I hide them from other people? Actually, how does Freya look like a human? She said she was a Digimon too right?
You mentioned the Digital World, what is that? I assume that's where they're from but... I mean how does that even work? They came out of my computer, are all electronics connected to it or something?

Karin looked up slightly from the screen. She flipped the page of her book before continuing to type again. She's... pretty much multitasking isn't she? But either way, this time around the reply seem to come a bit slower, perhaps because the content of the information.
Seven stages in total, six is special, five is common, the seventh is practically rather mythological. First, I ask you to please do not freak out, but... after Baby II, comes the Child stage. They're cute, they're like kids, they're pretty much where you can get more logical side from them... then come the... ahem, semi-kaijuu state.
Adult stage.
We're talking about human size, to three meters or five meters tall monsters. This state are not usually immediately available for your Digimon to stay in indefinitely. The next one is Perfect. You're talking about power that can level a building immediately, and easily... It's not suggested to even fight in this form in real world. Most Digimon only evolves up to Perfect... but there are two more stages. The next stage is Ultimate, which is like a super prestigious for Digimon to be in..You're talking about destroying a block in a second level of strength... and the final one is Super Ultimate. It's practically a mythological state, not anyone can get to that level. It requires very strong bond to reach, or countless of requirements.
...The power? Well, probably something like one man army.
You hide them from people by using disguises... I guess you can also pretend that they're toys or something until you get to Digital World where you can hide them with holosuit. Freya is wearing one... It's basically what makes her able to change clothes in that glitchy fashion. She usually prefers to wear actual clothes though. But see, the thing is holosuit is like a hologram, or more like they change the 'outer shell' of your Digimon to those of a human. They can't use their technique in that form.
Digital World is a parallel world. Are you aware of the concept of "Isekai"? It's pretty much the same, except Digital World is like our world's shadow. It's connected to our internet... and the quantum sea. Which means... multiverse theory! I'm not a scientist though so I'm not sure how it worked, but you can say that there are a portal that leads to Digital World. Two actually. One in Shibuya River and another in Shibuya Terminal."

Once again quite a lot of information was coming at Natane at once. The idea of Lutea and Lanata eventually possessing the strength to level a city block was.... NAtane wasn't sure how exactly to think of it aside from as surreal. There was some stuff in there that was difficult to unpack in totality, but that was fine for now, she'd get there eventually. The news of the existence of these holo-suits was interesting though, she'd need to get her hands on them soon enough she was sure. If Lutea and Lanata kept growing they'd eventually be too large to hide in her bag and who knew what they'd look like then. Yes, better safe than sorry.
So how does this change happen? Do they just have to hit a certain age or do they build up power or...?
There's a portal to another world in the river? Why am I not surprised. How do you get to the one in the terminal? Is there just a door you go through or what? What's the Digital World like? Also, do holo-suits only work on Digimon or can humans use them too?
If humans could use them, that might open up a whole new avenue of options for avoiding her family.
