Antylamon didn’t mind it so much.
She didn’t mind that she couldn’t make a sound, didn’t mind that she couldn’t interact with people in a very natural manner. Every moment was a blessing to her. Something that she enjoyed in every fiber of her being. She loved taking the time to ‘chat’ with people, loved their reactions to her gentle nature. To her innocence as she asked them question after question that they would stumble over like telling a newborn its name.
Asking where a good fishing spot for the river was also one that yielded quite a surprising amount of information from her fisher buddies. Or what she presumed to be buddies, they had only spent a few days in the same spots and she felt her presence probably was scaring the fish a little bit! So she asked for a new spot, one that would have less people and hopefully a few more fish.
One of them pointed her to a river out in the woods, suggesting it to her as nothing would really bother her since it was a mostly rookie area anyways. It was funny to them that they thought that she had peaked. Most of them thought she was ultimate, only to be baffled when she told them that she was just a champion. Her ultimate wasn’t exactly for fishing. It’s burly body would be much more suited to carrying things!
So here she was, in the early morning. A fishing rod held tightly in her hands, butt firmly planted on the ground with her legs crossed kind of like how a monk would have them. Her attention was mostly drawn forward to where her lure was bobbing up and down.
This was certainly the sort of life she was okay with living; she knew that other mons wanted to make it better. Make their lives something that needed to mean them getting more and more bits. For her?
She just wanted to fish, make friends and enjoy herself. She felt like she didn’t need to do much else. Maybe if someone drew her into something she’d go along with them, she wasn’t very resilient in that way. She wasn’t ashamed of that fact, she thought that it was fine. It’s not like anyone would use her for their own dastardly purposes either. What could someone want with a mon like her anyways?
The question sort of rolled through her head and she struggled to think of an answer that wasn’t something along the lines of a giant pillow. She thought to herself about getting some for her boat; a pillow room? That would be nice wouldn’t it? Just a place to snooze or chill with the few friends she had made thus far…
Yeah that sounded nice. But how much would it be? She still didn’t fully grasp the concept of money very well. She knew that bits were money and that there was a certain amount needed for certain things but… She couldn’t just guess something’s worth off the top of her head! It would be so much easier if you could just trade things to people but how would she even do that if she had nothing to start with?
She’d bite the inside of her cheek and look up through the canopy. It was about… Ten now? Not so early in the morning and judging by the few fish hanging around her neck she hadn’t been terribly unlucky. They weren’t as big as in the ocean but they were far more numerous...

It was logical to assume that many wouldn't be around in the early morning, right? Well, that was subjective based on who you asked, but Shizu wasn't about to go around asking that of any of the weird creatures she had gotten the chance to witness. Of course, though, the attempt at familiarizing herself with Whitewater and the area around it had led Shizu along a river. A single, solitary river that didn't seem to have much to it apart from a single entity with a fishing rod, and fish around their neck.
...Fish around their neck? That sounded about as wild as it was to notice. Still, fishing was a rather intensive hobby to be concentrating on, and it'd probably be ill-advised to interrupt someone fishing, given how that could easily scare away the fish. So, Shizu took a careful approach towards the fisherabbit,
"Hey, what's got you sitting here by yourself?" Shizu inquired, quietly.

Another nibble, another bite. Another drawn out fish.
The antylamon would inspect her catch quietly, a river fish of decent size. One that she could…. The digimon flicked her ear as she could hear something approach. It was the calm collected steps and she felt no danger, no threat from whatever was coming her way so she deigned to ignore it for the moment. She’d add this still wiggling fish to those around her neck. She really should of brought a rack or something but these would make for an excellent meal later on!
The antylamon blinked as she was addressed and turned her head to what was now… a human. Technically the second human that she had come across but… it was the first one that she didn’t have others around her and she felt her shyness well up a bit. She’d flatten her ears a bit and nervously fidget.
Book. Right. Her writing book.
The antylamon set her fishing pole aside, digging it into the ground so that it stood up tall on it’s own. She’d reach into her bag to draw out her writing book, the only thing that made it so that she could talk to others. It was her means of communication and was now something that she relied on heavily when just about anywhere. She’d quickly write down her explanation and hold it up to the human.
I’m trying out a new fishing spot, catching some fish for bits and a meal later. What has you out here so far from… well anything I guess? Are you lost?
The antylamon wouldn’t put it past someone to be lost if they made their way out this far into the forest really. But if they intentionally came out here she had to admit she wanted to know why. She didn’t sense any ill will in their question so… she figured that they were nice enough!

The tall Digimon didn't seem to make much of a sound when Shizu addressed her, but it was clear that she had heard her words. Perhaps she wasn't much of a people person, which was something that the Spirit Wielder could not really blame her for, truly. The Antylamon then procured a tome (which, well, it was probably pretty damn huge compared to Shizu given it was probably made for Antylamon herself) and began to write in it.
It was then that it dawned upon the fledgeling would-be spirit wielder that this Digimon either did not or could not talk. Huh. After taking a moment to read, Shizu shook her head. "Not lost. More wandering, I'd suppose. Or is it exploring? I guess the two can be interchanged." She admitted.
A fisherman...That probably explains the abundance of fish. "Is this really that far from Whitewater...?"

The tome was fairly large in comparison to what humans would use, at least four times the size and width of one. Then again considering the sheer size of an antylamon that wouldn’t be a surprise. That also meant that there was a lot of room for her to write seeing as she had to make as much use as she could of the object to speak with others. The antylamon smiled a little bit at the human, her shyness and nervousness abating a bit as the human continued to interact with her. Giving her those answers and allowing for the other to write up on that.
”Exploring is just wandering but with purpose. You’ve certainly happened on a peaceful spot though. A lot of the predators don’t come this way.”
The antylamon smiled a bit and tilted her head as the other inquired if this place was far from whitewater. She had figured it to be far seeing as it had taken her a good bit to get here. Then again the giant rabbit didn’t know what she was looking for exactly so she had spent a good chunk of her early morning finding this place.
”In a roundabout sense I’d say so. It took me a few hours to get out here, then again I was actually looking for the spot eheh…”
The antylamon shifted a bit and looked to her fishing rod. Maybe the human would join her in fishing? It would be nice to have some company and she did have a spare rod in her bag; albeit much smaller for when she was in her keramon form! The antylamon dug about in her bag a bit and pulled the rod out, offering it to the human.
”Would you like to join me?”
The antylamon smiled softly and tilted her head to one side; if the human didn’t want to join her that was fine. It was nice to meet someone that didn’t just… well explode on her. She had a few whitewater folks do that because she couldn’t talk and the large rabbit had to leave the area quickly. It was kind of odd really…
”You don’t have to if you don’t want, but if you’re just wandering or exploring why not take some time to relax? Could cook some of these fish up later too.”

Yep. That was a mighty huge book. Which was probably good since it meant this rabbit could write about as much as she so wished. The much smaller human awaited for the Antylamon to finish writing. "Is that so..." She murmured. That explained the general lack of others here, funnily enough. Which was pretty good for herself, really.
Meant less people giving her weird looks for being a human, after all. There was a brief period of silence from Shizu as she read over what Antylamon had to 'say,' but she didn't have anything better to do for the moment. Not that she wanted to go fishing in the first place, either. So, the human took a seat next to the Antylamon. "I suppose you do have a point...Do...you have a name? I've seen Digimon like you around, but none really...er. Speak much. If at all. And some don't even have scarves."
This was less awkward than she had anticipated it to be, really. Even if it was just her talking a lot.

The antylamon tilted her head slightly as the other seemed to be ‘thrown off’ by the fact they were so far out. Well maybe thrown off was a little much. The rabbit would shrugged a bit and set her rod down next to the human. They’d do their own thing when they wanted to. The antylamon seemed rather content putting bait on the hook and casting it out. The antylamon blinked again and tilted her head.
Did she have a name? The antylamon slowly shook her head, writing down in the book her answers and observations before holding the book up to the human. The rabbit was quite the patient sort and didn’t mind this exchange, in fact this was probably one of the ore friendly ones she had met as of late. That wasn’t excitable or huggy.
”I don’t have a name. Most people just call me by what form I’m in. So it’s either Keramon or Antylamon most of the time. Ah! Those types, They’re a different variety of Antylamon I think. We’re quiet by nature I’ve been told. But I guess I’m even more quiet since I can’t talk.”
The antylamon seemed to chuckle and there was a small smile on her face, she’d flick an ear and note how her lure was bobbing up and down. Though it was just a testing nibble the rabbit knew soon she’d have another catch. Fish had a short term memory and generally didn’t get too upset when one of their school was suddenly gone.
”What about your names? I know humans have two. Or sometimes even three. One of the ones I met had four, two middles I think. He had a strange but cute accent.”
The antylamon seemed somewhat amused and confused at this idea. How did people sound so different in the digital world? She had asked that human why he had so many and he said something about it being common from his village off in some far off place. She wondered if she’d ever get to go there!
”I also don’t see a partner with you, did they get lost? Or are you still trying to find yours?”
Honestly if she was that could explain a little bit. Whitewater was very safe and the area around it was regularly patrolled. Even these more remote places had patrol mons going through. Heck she had run into a few of them earlier that were going through the forest. Andromon patrols were so efficient. The antylamon couldn’t help but respect her mechanical brethren a bit!

Had she really been walking that far? It certainly didn't feel as though that much time had elapsed since she had started walking, which struck the human as strange. Heck, it was something that even Antylamon had seemed to catch on to as well. Speaking of, Antylamon didn't seem to have any sort of name of her own, just going by Keramon or Antylamon. Keramon was...the squid-looking one.
...
Odd how one of those can turn into a bunny with the largest hands outside of trashy manga that Shizu had ever seen before, really. "Amaya Shizuka. I don't...have a partner, no. Just a piece of technology that doesn't even work. Technically I have a Sistermon that swore she owed me a debt living at my house...But I've seen what partnered digivices look like."
Hers didn't match that at all. It was a onyx color, primarily. Black, white, and red. It was a pretty striking-looking D-Tector that hung from her waist but there was no glow to the screen at all. No spirit within the machine. Why?

The antylamon shifted a bit, flicking her ears a few more times. She could feel the rod in her hands shift a bit, it wasn’t quite time yet. This fish was being patient, being crafty. Trying to get as much of the bait before going for the juiciest part! She liked this sort of challenge…
The rabbit blinked a bit at the other’s name. Amaya Shizuka. It wasn’t strange per say, just that she felt that maybe they looked like a robin or maybe even a Lavender? She hadn’t met any humans by other name just that this one looked like those! The large rabbit tilted her head as the other explained how their Digivice didn’t seem to work. The antylamon shifted a bit and wrote down something in her book, turning it so that the other could see it.
So no partner and no real reaction to you as a holder? That’s sort of strange.
The antylamon mulled this over, she had heard whispers from some of the dock workers that there were humans that didn’t have partners. That they turned into digimon. That they were directly tied to the past in some venue or another. She looked thoughtful but...
The large rabbit yanked on her rod the moment the lure went down. Even with one hand she was very strong, much stronger than the large fish she just pulled out of the water in one fell swoop. It was about the size of a human forearm and must of been one of the older ones in this batch. She’d grin to the other and set the fish aside for the moment.
I’ve heard of humans that could turn into digimon, maybe you’re one of them? But if you don’t have these… I think they’re called statues? I’m not really sure. I only overhear conversations or rumours. Spirit users I think they’re called? Maybe you could ask around on the net to see if anyone might have advice for you? Or maybe I could help you find your statue?
The rabbit tilted her head, she didn’t mind the idea. Traveling around with a human didn’t seem so bad and it’d keep the other safe wouldn’t it? That and people weren’t likely to attack the rabbit; in fact a lot of people seemed to be scared of her at first so… Something to consider!
Though I think it’s around lunch time. Would you like some fish?

It had briefly slipped Shizu's mind that Antylamon had been fishing before she showed up, and generally that was a silent affair more than anything, was it not? Either way, the rabbit's body language hadn't gone unnoticed by the girl. Did her name seem off or anything? No way to really tell.
What was more important at present was that Antylamon had seemed to catch something. Something strong took the bait, evidently, before the giant rabbit yanked out...one really chunky fish. Humans that could turn into Digimon? Yes, she was familiar with those. "I've...heard a thing or two about totems. Don't know the first thing about looking for them, though. I don't know where to look or anything. Plus, I wouldn't want to potentially waste your time or anything."
...She still had to figure out that Tamernet business too.
"...Some fish would be nice, Antylamon. Do you have anything to cook that with?"

The antylamon tilted her head slightly as the other eyed her catch, the big fish would be more than enough for both of them and the smaller fish would be good for something else entirely. She was happy that she had caught so many! They’d stay cozily in the cooler in her fishing boat up until she got back to the city.
The antylamon scratched her head, So the statues were really called Totems? That made sense to her, totems were objects of power weren’t they? She didn’t have a clue about how to even look for them, where to look or how to even get started. The antylamon rubbed at her chin thoughtfully and was about to write something down before the other asked her if she had anything to cook with.
The antylamon fumbled around in her bag and pulled out a small black bag. Inside of it? Well there were a few knives, a small set of them yes. A fold out pan and something she could cook on. All she needed was to make a pit and she could cook. The antylamon set it to one side and pulled her book back into her lap, writing something down before holding it up to the human.
I have these, I also have my boat that’s at the mouth of the river. So if you don’t mind a hike we could cook it there? If not here works too!
The antylamon tilted her head, if they went to her boat they could have a nice meal and it wouldn’t just be fish. She had a few other things in that boat that she could use to spice things up. But if the tamer didn’t? Well the fish would probably be tasty enough on it’s own!

There were really a number of names for the spirits that a specific couple of humans went hunting for. Totems. Spirits. Anything, really. Either way, Shizu wasn't kidding when she said that she had no idea where to begin looking, nor was she kidding when she said she didn't want to potentially waste Antylamon's time. Honestly, fishing seemed like it'd be more fun than a wild goose chase.
On fishing-related subjects however, Antylamon whipped out...a pan. And a thing she could cook on. Also knives, very important, yep. The lagomorph offered a hike back up to her boat for more cooking supplies, and you know what? If you're going to accept having lunch with some giant rabbit, it was probably for the best to allow them to do their damned best at cooking.
"I don't mind a further hike, no." ...What would a boat big enough to hold a Digimon like Antylamon even look like? Shoot. Shizu quickly stood up and waited for the rabbit to lead the way.

The antylamon wouldn’t really have any idea where to look either, where to go or how to even get started. She only offered because often more than not two people looking for something was better than one right? But she relented and would be down for some fishing or just hanging out in general. She didn’t do much other than that in her life and that was okay!
The antylamon brightened a bit at hearing that the other wouldn’t mind the hike, so that was decided without too much worry! The antylamon quickly started packing her things together, slinging the larger rod over her shoulder and putting the fold up one into her bag. Even going so far as to hoisting the fish into her bag. It’d weakly flop about and the antylamon frowned a bit. She didn’t like seeing them struggle but it was honestly the best way without getting violent.
She’d gesture for the human to follow her and with that the hike would get started. It’d take about an hour of pure walking before the two of them arrived at their destination. Thankfully with the antylamon around any wild digimon buggered off almost immediately into the foliage. A mon that wandered around in champion likely had higher forms available to them right?
The boat in question was actually one of those commercial fishing boats you’d see in larger harbors. It was older and seemed like it needed some work but there was love to it; there were bits and pieces that the antylamon obviously had been working on. Ranging from portions of cheerful blue paint on the hull to little ribbons tied here or there… The antylamon was trying to make this feel like a home to herself.
The antylamon would hop onto the boat and extend a board down for the human so they could come onto the boat. She’d give them a small smile and stoop near the door to the cabin, sliding the fish in with one hand… Before de-digivolving to a much smaller looking form. That of a keramon!
Sure the bag was fairly over-sized for the rookie and the fishing rod wobbled a bit before she set it against the wall with an irritated huff but… Now she could easily fit in the smaller cabin! The smaller mon pulled out a much smaller book to write on before holding it up to the human.
Any preference on how it’s cooked?

Perhaps it would show itself one day, perhaps it would not. It was about as uncertain as the answer to any hypothetical question in the world. Either way, the matter of totems wasn't necessarily important right now. Shizu instead decided to focus on the now, with Antylamon. Who seemed to be pretty happy that the totemless wielder was more than happy to make the hike.
She did need the exercise, after all. Of course, the hour of walking was rather silent, but notably? There...really weren't any Digimon trying to accost them in the first place. Shizu decided to attribute that to the fact there was an extraordinarily tall rabbit traveling with her for the moment. People tended to not screw with those.
And while the boat itself was decidedly average? One had to keep in mind that Shizu had never seen anything like that outside of TV. Naturally? This was pretty fascinating. "Thank you." Shizu stated at the extension of a board so she could board, before she witnessed the Antylamon dedigivolve to...
A squid. A weird looking squid. With funny hands. She was pretty sure she had seen one or two of these before, but she had never gotten a close look at one...The girl reached out to pat the Keramon on the head. She felt like they deserved one.
"No, not at all. How do you usually have your fish cooked? I want to see how you do it."

The antylamon seemed rather pleased to have the human along with her, there was a certain bounce to her step in comparison to her trudging to this place on her own. Of course the antylamon was happy about her own hike, she had made it before alone; which felt more like a bore than with someone else! She’d turn her head to the other as they approached the boat; giving the smaller human a smile. She was quick to write down something and show her what she had written!
Of course! At least this will be safe too!
She’d beam just as brightly in her keramon form as she did in her antylamon one; though at recieving a headpat the keramon felt her face turn a bright shade of red. She hadn’t gotten one of those before and the keramon had pushed up against that headpat unintentionally. As though she often more than not didn’t get enough physical affection.
Oh. I uh. I uh fry them sometimes, others I bake them. With the size of what I’ve caught however… Frying them is probably the best choice. Unless you want the bigger one! Could do a lot with it honestly.
The keramon quickly floated into the cabin, which was a sizable home for the keramon but would be somewhat cramped for the antylamon. So it’d make sense that the other had chosen to be this size! A kitchen, a restroom, a small living/dining room and a bedroom. It all seemed to speak about how this mon lived on her own. It wasn’t a mess and a lot of it had small comfort items.
Pillows. Blankets… a few gabu-bears.
An empty picture frame sat on the dinner table, like it was waiting for something. The keramon busied herself with getting the stove ready to go. She seemed to think that this time around it’d be better to fry them… Though she still had to cut the fish up and pull them apart!
