Kai and Tera were crossing the Mainframe Hills after they had a chance to rest up and let both the human and Digimon gain their energy back. She was sitting in a large mesh crate that was attached to Tera's body. It was just quicker for the Digimon to carry the human through her crate as while it would be a bit draining on Tera, they'd make great time towards Terminus, however suddenly the area around started to have strange flashes of light before suddenly there was a bunch of glitches in space as tears in space unfolded from several of them scattering the territory. Out of a large one came what appeared to be a wisemon with a glitching face and colors were randomizing. The face often had the normal dark one with yellow eyes, sometimes changing to another color or glitch pattern, and in some cases turning into a photorealistic red eye. There was screeching in the air as his voice was modulated strangely, the tense air only made the air of danger worse. Tera stopped mid flight, panicking as she was trying to find the best way out, all the while remembering to keep an eye out on the Wisemon. However what scared her was when he disappeared, before suddenly reappearing right in front of her as his hand warped into a three pronged demonic claw that he slashed down hard on Tera, sending her crashing to the ground. Kai was bounced around in the cargo pod, before it was knocked loose on impact. "What the hell is going on? What is that?" She said her heart full of fear as she reached her right hand for the Fusion loader on her left wrist, she discovered this one had a wrist mount build in that once attached, extends wraps that reach around her wrists, meeting in the middle and tighten like a rather bulky watch. "It's a Wisemon, but something's wrong. These tears, we gotta stop him before something bad happens!" She said as she would stand after being on the ground before falling over again in intense agony at the scars as they were leaking data. "You're too injured to fight, that thing nearly cleaved you into thirds." She said as she left the pod, it automatically rank and returned to Tera as Kai ran over, trying to drag Tera away. "And that guy wasn't even trying... he's not all there." She said as she watched The Wisemon walk towards her. Both Tamer and Digimon scared before he would fall onto his knees screaming clutching his head as his body was decomposing and rebuilding as glitches appeared all over his body, not before he could get some last words in. The resulting shockwave send Kai and Tera back through one of the glitched portals, that closed shortly after the death of the Wisemon. Kai and Tera blacked out afterwards, seeing the Mainframe hills through the portal as they fell to the ground. Kai and Tera were unconscious for a short while, before Kai would be the first one to regain Consciousness. Kai was dizzy, off balanced, and in a dark environment as she would see Tera in the distance, still bleeding out code, eyes closed. Kai felt her heart skip a beat as she was stunned for the moment before she would crawl over towards Tera as she felt her senses get back, making her way over to the Digimon. She felt The Dinosaur like Digimon's neck as she would feel something like a pulse. She sighed relief before she looked about, seeing practically nothing. Tera groggily looked about as she opened her eyes. "We're alive? What happened? Last I remember was something about velocity, light, and shadow..." She said before looking up at Kai, seeing her start to cry relief. "Good, you're okay, we both are. You took the worse end of it... Do you know where we are?" She asked the former Courier who looked about the devoid place weakly. "No... not here... anywhere but here..." She said coughing, in utter disbelief which confirmed Kai's worse fears. "The Dark Area." She whispered only to be met with a barely audible grunt of agreement by Tera. Kai felt her heart pounding in her chest, but she knew there was no time to panic. Taking two minutes to compose herself, she would start to carefully adjust Tera, careful to avoid unnecessary harm as she carefully lifted Tera, piggy backing the Digimon with Tera's head resting on her shoulder. She was definitely sluggish moving through the wasteland but she started moving in a direction and stuck with it, hoping to find someone soon. "Leave me... You need to be able to move, I'm dying, save yourself." Tera said weakly as Kai was not having it. "I'm supposed to be a General right? I ought to court martial you for just saying that. You're all I got since I got here, and especially right now. We go down, we go down together. You didn't abandon me when i needed you and you'd be better off. Just.. hold on. Please. Save your strength, there's gotta be something... gotta be someone, somewhere." She said huffing as she was wounded herself and struggling with carrying Tera, but she refused to abandon her partner. However the two were still wandering the dark lifeless place, on the verge of total collapse. Outfit:

Sometimes, a bit of fresh air was the order of the day. It was rarity—considering the Forsaken Wasteland fresh air, that is, but the truth was that Amelie had grown to appreciate the desolated landscape that constituted the majority of the Dark Area, and when comparing it to the borderline suffocating responsibility that Deeplane could be at times… this place wasn’t bad at all.
She strolled the seemingly endless empty expanse leisurely, completely disregarding any potential dangers that could present themselves; you could call it arrogance, as she had lost her fear for the place she called home in the Digital World a long time ago. Certainly a weird outlook to have, but it worked for her.
Amelie being Amelie, however, meant that even this small form of relaxation couldn’t really last for long. From her position, it was a fairly distant sight, but she could already tell that whatever was happening wasn’t good at all. She advanced slowly at first, her steps progressively quickening into a sprint before she could properly visualize the scene; two beings, a human and a digimon, apparently grievously injured tried to trek through the inhospitable terrain. They probably wouldn’t get very far without help.
“Hey~!” She called to see if she got any response from the duo. She didn’t discard that there might be some foul play involved and in the not-so unlikely nature of this whole deal being a trap of some sort, but that’d only make things more interesting, wouldn’t they? In either case, she kept on approaching until the distance between them was closed. “Do you need help? You don’t look like you’re doing very well.”
At the very least, the answer to the question was obvious. Sure, Amy’s queries might’ve sounded a tad insensitive on the surface, but at least she had gone straight to the point. It was time for the strangers to show their intentions, and to act accordingly depending on what they were.

Kai was feeling sick, in intense pain, and was barely handing herself let alone carrying the dinosaur jet fusion of a Digimon on her back. She knew that with no one to know she was missing in this area, her best bet would be to try to keep moving till she found someone or something capable of helping her and Tera. She didn't know what else she could do, she considered prayer but she wondered if there was even a God that would show her mercy if she somehow landed in this situation. The irony is the place she was in did fit the concept of Hell when she would think about it.
Her breathing was heavy but she would continue to trek forward, until she would be able to start to notice someone approaching. She panicked as she couldn't make out if it was a human or Digimon, or the more pressing question for this place, friend or foe? She didn't see any buildup for violence so she would stand still as a young woman would find her and ask a very direct question that Kai was pretty sure didn't need any answer at this point.
Tera was fading in and out of consciousness and tried to warn Kai to keep her distance but didn't have the energy to speak at the moment. Kai would look at Amelie quite desperate. "Please, help her. She got hit really bad before the explosion sent us through the portal, no it was more like a spacial tear, glitch in reality? I don't know and it's not important." She said unaware she was bleeding herself as she had a few cuts on her side that carrying Tera opened a bit wider, she would practically beg Amelie for help as she would turn slightly so the woman could see the Pteranomon X bleeding out data from three deep wounds from the demented claw attack earlier. "It was an unstable Wisemon who's hand morphed into some sort of demonic claw that was black ooze with glitch around it that couldn't maintain it's own form. Ambushed us in the Eastern Province's hills." She said trying to explain the nature and origins of the wound in case that may be relevant. She didn't know if this woman could even help her but the fact that the normally rambunctious Digimon was falling silent was honestly scaring Kai right now.

Well, it didn’t take Amy enough to realize that these two having a bad time was beyond any sort of act. She had listened intently to the short tale and seemed thoughtful for several seconds. Despite the obvious choice being to help them, the girl was thinking about the more complex step to it. How?
“A glitchy Wisemon, you say? That’s a new one for me.” For a veteran who had seen a fair share of the Digital World and its strange happenings, the place sure had its way to surprise her on every turn. “It’d probably be risky to take her through a portal, given the potentially nasty side effects that could have.” That ruled the easy way out, for sure. It was only then that the young woman had an idea. “My own healing abilities are fairly underdeveloped, and while I could tend to you right here, I fear your friend’s condition might worsen. My daughter could tend to her, but for that we’d have to move to Deeplane. I’d ask you if you’re okay with that, but you don’t really have the luxury of choice if you want to save them. You might want to take a couple steps back.”
Having said that, various rings of fractal code began to form around her left hand; she brought her D-Tector with her right, and after joining the two, a deep magenta glow would take over her body as its form blurred, distorted and expanded greatly. Once the process was finished, Enigmon stood next to the human and digimon. No doubt a dreadful sight for anyone not used to it, and she wouldn’t fault the girl for wanting to run away at its presence in the slightest. Yet… she probably didn’t have many options considering her situation.
In a flash, two seemingly vestigial limbs that resembled arms extended in their direction, their intent obvious for them to draw closer so they could be picked up. The question was, if they would, however. The ball was on their court now.

Kai did as she was told and would step back. She didn't want to waste time asking the woman questions as she was at her mercy. However when she saw the strange Digivice interact with a form of energy ring she generated in the other hand, she instinctively looked away at the flash before opening her eyes seeing that the woman had transformed into a Digimon. In truth had Kai seen a human change into a Digimon, or a Digimon as strange as the one right before her in general she might react by flinching or going into panic. However mostly as a result of her immediate previous encounter, and partially a result of her stress levels being already high, she looked at the Enigmon with a rather nonchalant reaction.
She barely even flinched at the sight of the monstrous Digimon. She would accept that she needs the help to be able to save Tera, and even if it was a trap, it wasn't like she had anywhere else to go. She knew that there was probably no alternative but to accept the help of the Spirit User.
"Give me a burst of muse and a writing tool and I couldn't describe the thing in any way that gives the horror justice. It was rapidly changing colors and it's face kept phasing and being replaced by what I can only guess was a very tortured eyeball, it's abilities too seemed to also destabilize it, I can't explain For the life of me. This is somehow easier to tolerate." She replied to the woman who seemed to be rather adapted to the Dark Area, and even she wasn't accustomed to that which retroactively amplified the nature of the threat it posed to the two. She would walk forward towards the woman's vestigial limbs she extended out for her.
"However you're right. I can't afford to be picky, especially right now." She would willingly comply with whatever Amelie said as she was still the best hope to save the jet Digimon's life.

As fancy as the girl’s words had been, they had inadvertently fallen into deaf ears. Not like Amelie didn’t want to listen, mind you, but because she was unable to. In hindsight, she should’ve explained that most of her evolutions were stone-deaf; but, at least, that wasn’t important at the moment. Quickly, the limbs took hold of both human and digimon, wrapping themselves around both tightly, yet gently enough to not inflict any damage. Gingerly, the digimon placed one at each side of itself and began to take off.
Don’t think a lot about it. Just hold tight.
As Enigmon began to advance in a brisk pace in towards an unspecified direction, the girl would feel a voice that could barely be associated with the brunette’s intruding directly into her mind. It wasn’t the most pleasant of sensations, but not something harmful, either.
It’s been some time, but I can’t really hear what you’re saying. If you want to communicate with me, just hold the tendril that’s grabbing you and think really hard about what you want to tell me. It’s a bit hard at first but you get used to it.
The mega level advanced rapidly, yet making sure her passengers weren’t negatively affected by the speed of the trip. Five minutes or so, the vague outline of a massive city began to become apparent in the distance.
Why don’t you tell me a bit about yourselves? Like your names, for example! I can figure out that this is the first time you’ve been in the Dark Area, since you were certainly hopelessly lost, but not much more than that. How did you get tangled up with the glitchy Wisemon? While unprovoked attacks aren’t exactly a rare occurrence in the Digital World, one of that magnitude strikes me as strange.
Was smalltalk with an aberration something either being would be willing to partake on? Considering the dire circumstances, it could go either way, but it wasn’t like neither of them had anything better to do while they closed the distance towards their destination.

As Kai was being wrapped in the tentacles for the Spirit User's ease, she made a mental note that if she ever needed to be carried by this form again to bring up Tera's cargo cube. Kai silently braced as she felt the Enigmon fly at a speed that surpassed that of a Pteranomons. However what bothered her was the fact that this Digimon was telepathic. It wasn't a major problem as truth was she was more excited, but her mind was used to seven lines of thought at once as she spoke and loved that there was the filter of requiring to have to vocalize words. However at the time since there was no other way of communication she decided to try her best to restrain her thoughts, especially when she had some information to offer that she had no idea if it was significant or not
She would heed the words carefully as she would reach her fingers towards the tendril, rubbing her fingers along it as she was trying to get a feel for it, before softly tensing a grip as she would carefully direct her thoughts through an imaginary mouth so she could keep a pseudo gap between the thoughts she wanted to keep internal and the ones she wanted to keep outbound. "I am Kai Aizawa, she's Tera. And yeah, neither of us wanted to get here, we were in the Mainframes Hills bound towards Terminus before we were, intercepted by the Wisemon..." She thought as she was trying to recall the how it happened, unaware that the Enigmon would have a copy of the memory transmitted as she would explain the events from her perspective.
"Tera used to be a courier till her company went under so I was riding in the compressible cargo crate she has to save time, we were flying through the Hills at a nice pace, before suddenly there was a series of glitches that appeared all around. A number of them expanded into portals to strange places, and he or it came out of one of them, he didn't look all there to be honest, like his mind was undergoing multiple crises at once." She recalled how the Wisemon acted, while she had no frame of reference to know it, the Digimon was definitely far too uncomposed for the norm. "It wasn't a targeted attack, more like it was out of control and lashed out at the first thing it could find. What was really scary was the fact that it was growing stronger as it was growing unstable. It moved at least forty feet in under a second. I was on the underside of so I couldn't see the full claw but the sheer force behind it was real. It dug into Tera with one hit and nearly killed her with it, I suspect if that attack actually had any real conscious intent and wasn't a pure chaotic outburst, Tera wouldn't be alive." She thought as she recalled the fear vividly of falling down to the ground and hitting hard as the Tera's connection to the cage was shattered, how beaten down Tera looked unable to escape, before the strange buildup of light and darkness in the Wisemon before the explosion.
"It destabilized into a mess of glitch, shadow, and light after claiming it wanted something about mastering infinite velocity by slamming the chaotic good against the Shadowed Kingdom come. The explosion sent Tera and me flying through a glitch portal but it seems it and possibly the rest closed after launching us here. We blacked out for maybe a minute so I do have something I can't account for." She thought wrapping it up, completely unaware the traumatic experience involving a multicolored glitching Wisemon who's facial transmogrification into a tortured eye was just unsettling. "Tera can't reach Champion, we were screwed from the beginning weren't we?"
She thought as she tried to find some way out of the fight as she wanted to learn if there was any way out of that situation, there was no warning, Tera was a Digimon that was outclassed in speed and agility and power, both sets had everything against her, and the Wisemon's opening move crippled her mobility. "I can't even explain it well, you'd have to see it to believe it."

The aberration remained ‘silent’ while Kai recounted her story in a very vivid way. Amelie herself saw the confrontation as it went through, and how hopelessly unmatched the two girls were in the face of something that could barely be called a digimon. How something like that could plunge somebody from near Terminus to the Dark Area was extremely befuddling as well. Many questions sprung in the young woman’s mind, but she figured that Kai probably had as many answers as she had.
Seems like you had a rough time. It’s a good thing you found me; otherwise, I don’t know what would’ve happened. It was a close call, but it seems like you lucked out in the end.
Slowly, the outline of the city began to grow as they got near it; by now, their arrival was pretty much imminent. Enigmon itself could already see that they had a small welcoming committee waiting for them.
In all honesty, Amy didn’t know what to make out of the Wisemon’s ramblings; they seemed like the ravings of a lunatic, but they were a tad too specific to be dismissed as such. Maybe something worthy of attention? She’d have to look into that later.
Pretty much. Wisemons are usually around perfect level, so you were at an nigh-inmensurable disadvantage. All things considered, it’s a miracle that you two are still in one piece. I wouldn’t mind perusing that memory in a more in-depth way, but first we should take care of you both.
Enigmon landed a little ahead from the city’s entrance. A small group of digimons and humans gathered around it, in which a small girl with brown hair loosely tied on a ponytail was at the front. After depositing both beings in the ground gingerly, the digimon shone in the same light that had manifested it before, shrinking progressively until she was back to being a human. “The digimon is in critical condition and needs attention as soon as possible. The human has a few injuries on them, but I think they aren’t life-threatening. I can take care of her myself.”
Nobody argued those words, with the small girl nodding and beginning to organize the rest of the digimons around Tera. Slowly, they lifted her into a stretcher-esque tool and transported her into a nearby building that had all the trappings of a medical center. “They’ll take good care of Tera. She’ll recover in no time.” Amelie said, without a hint of hesitation. “I know what I said, but you can go with her if you’re worried. Or you can accompany me to my private quarters, whatever you prefer. I feel like I’ve earned a rest after that.”
Having said that, she extended a hand in Kai’s direction and smiled. “My name is Amelie Saboro, by the way. And this is Deeplane City. Please make yourself at home.”

Kai listened to the woman's telepathic words, only seeming to be confirming and affirming her fears. The fact that what she faced wasn't even remotely close to what a Wisemon should be only heightened the danger. However given the fact that Tera hasn't been making much noise for a few minutes, the fear of the encounter was rising as her heart was pounding. She needed to take her mind off the traumatic experience repeating itself in her mind as she would look at the city that she was approaching.
Kai was greatly confused at first as there was a fully established city in the midst of a place that was supposed to be the Digital World Equivalent to a literal living hell. However the fact that a human was able to survive here acting like it was a stroll through the park alone was plausible, which in turn did help Kai rationalize the notion of a city.
As Kai and Tera were gently put down, Kai would once again look at her Digimon partner, seeing the heavily wounded Digimon on the verge of death, barely alive by threads and fumes at this point. Kai was trembling a bit as she would see others help the limp body of Tera up onto the stretcher filled her with a sense of dread she never thought she was capable of feeling. "It's too quiet she could never shut up before but now..." She muttered as she knew Tera's cocky and rambunctious nature would have her in arms or in awe of her surroundings, but seeing the closed eyes of the Pteranomon-X was just a horror show even if she heard anyone around talk about signs of life.
Kai didn't notice as Amelie would return to normal right behind her, and was almost startled when thee eldritch horror like Digimon was replaced with a human woman again. Kai would pay attention to the offer and start to think that it may be for the best. She wouldn't know what to do with herself waiting while others were treating Tera, and she was barely experienced with the world let alone the area, so sticking around another seemed a bit more preferable for the moment. "Nice to formally meet you as well. I, think I'll stick around you. No sense in me getting in the the way of doctors. She said after returning Amelie's handshake.

“That’s a surprisingly logical decision. Color me impressed.” The young woman said, her tone evidently entertained. “Having that degree of trust in complete strangers is surprising. You’ll see it won’t be misplaced, though! I don’t know if Tera will be back to her old self right away, but I hold no doubts on their ability to get her out of critical condition.” At least that much was a given; the Pteranomon only had to hold up a little more before her condition was stabilized. “Follow me. Deephold isn’t very far away.”
‘Not very far’ meant, of course, that a portal whirred into existence before Amy pretty much immediately. After gesturing to Kai to follow along, she entered.
What was inside was pretty much indistinguishable from the living room of your average apartment, albeit a well-furnished one in an Art Deco style. Lights weren’t the brightest, but not much could be expected from the perennially dim city. “My house is your house.” Amelie added confidently, motioning at the many couches that littered the area. “Just get comfortable. Anything I could offer you in the meantime? I’ll be right back.”
The brunette didn’t take a lot, and soon enough, she was back with a small briefcase that she opened, revealing plenty amount of gauze, disinfectant, and other items necessary to apply first aid. “Now, show me where you got injured. Don’t want any of that stuff to get infected, do we?” Funnily enough, there was an almost playful quality to her voice. “You can ask me any questions you want in the meantime. This whole situation was probably a bit on the sudden side, no doubt you probably need some time to digest it all.”
Hard to deny that truth, that’s for sure.

"I just, never came close to losing anyone, abandoned by family is one thing but watching someone nearly go out is another." She said as she tried to refute the logical comment. She was extremely logical but she did have a heart. It was definitely hard for her to see someone she spent even a short while bonded with on the verge of death. She would start to get home. However she was a little surprised when there was a portal opening, but at this point she knew she should just simply roll with whatever happens in this world. She followed Amelie from what could easily be described as a post apocalyptic barren wasteland to one of the most modern chic apartments she would ever see.
As Amelie left to get her medkit, Kai would walk about, starting to notice her stagger a bit more as once more she was feeling the wounds she endured before after getting into a place where she could safely let down her efforts to keep strong and together. She felt a great deal of pain in her back, her left shoulder, and both her feet as she tried to mentally sum up her injuries to herself. She would notice her feet were mostly twisted and bruised as her boots were scuffed but not pierced.
She slowly made her way over to a back ottoman and would sit down on it, before she would run a finger along a few of the wounds and see that she was in fact bleeding. "Nine cuts of various lengths and depths along my back, three on my left arm. Bruising all over my body. Nothing that a bunch of painkillers and some disinfectant can't handle." She thought as she would try to calm her breathing. She didn't even want to think about if she had a concussion at the moment.
When Amelia came back less then two minutes later, with a warm and inviting tone, Kai agreed and nodded, before she slowly removed her red halterneck revealing the eleven cuts on her back, bruises of various sizes and color, and even in some areas redness of a grate like pattern from the crate. "Thinking there might be about eight or nine cuts on my back from neck to lower middle." She said as she pulled her pony tail down in front as she would try to not leave her back covered as much as possible. "It wasn't exactly a ten point landing both times. I honestly have no idea where to begin with questions. Where does one start when they were assaulted by a Digital Eldritch horror?" She said as she would try to begin opening up as for once she was struggling to question everything.
"Though I must ask, where are we? I was told the Dark Area was supposed to be an uncivilized living hellscape where the only rule was survival of the strongest. How is there a settlement beyond a village or township thriving?" She asked as that was in truth the one thing that was on her mind. She was grateful to be alive, but she did want to know how it was possible.

Despite being about to open a portal, Amy listened to what Kai had to say nonetheless. She seemed to be logical almost to the point of coldness, yet not quite. An interesting individual to stumble upon, no doubt! Chances were that the brunette herself would have queries once everything was said and done. Of course, that could wait!
Once ready, the young woman began to examine her patient’s back. Good thing she wasn’t facing her, or else she’d have seen Amelie’s expression at it. “Those are some injuries alright. It’s a good thing you were wearing red. This might sting a bit.” Slowly, she began to clean every wound thoroughly before sealing them with gauze and taping them appropriately. “If you need to remove your boots or something else, feel free. Doubt they’re doing you any favors at the moment.”
Amy had to grant Kai a point though. The past several hours of her life were definitely on the weird side. The fact that she was remaining composed through them meant her mental fortitude was fairly high. A commendable trait, no doubt. “Fair enough. If you need a breather to get your bearings back, I don’t mind working in silence either.”
Even so, it seemed like the fact that the whole situation had been outside of her grasp for quite a while prompted her to seek answers. That made sense; of course, being asked about Deeplane filled the brunette with pride. And maybe a hint of smugness. “This is Deeplane City, the Dark Area’s first and only major city.” She said, an airy quality to her voice. “What you’ve been told used to be completely accurate, and now it’s still partly true, but that’s the very reason why I decided to build a city in this place. Most of the time, and just like people, digimons are victims of their circumstances; you probably know this more than well, but it’s notably harder to live an honest life when anarchy prevails and nobody is held accountable for their actions, no matter how gruesome they might be. It was a bit of a gamble, but I thought that a good deal of the denizens of this place were no different than from the rest of the Digital World, and had just been denied the opportunity to choose between leading a ‘normal’ life and being no better than a feral. Lo and behold, it seems I was correct and this place grew from an idea to full-fledged city in two years or so. Of course, the Dark Area is still very far from being a safe place, but having a major city and a visible authority figure that happens to be a rational person instead of a rabble of bloodthirsty warlords has helped a lot overall.”
Quite the long-winded speech, wasn’t it? If there was an evident quality regarding the brunette, it was that she was just a little fond of the sound of her voice. Hopefully Kai wouldn’t mind! “We still have to wrestle every now and then with the people who obviously lost power due to the change of the status quo, but I’d say we’re handling ourselves very well. Anything else you might want to ask?”
By now, the young woman was more or less halfway there regarding Kai’s back injuries. She was going a little slowly, but had to make sure she was cleaning everything thoroughly. Else, she ran the risk of just making things worse.

Kai winced a bit, holding onto her knees as she felt Amelie disinfect the wounds on her back. She did not even want to think about what she could have picked up by having her wounds rubbed against the metal crate, and the ground of two completely different areas. She was just glad that at the very least there was another human who seemed to basic first and and properly equipped to handle the wounds she endured. Her breathing was steady but she did flinch or groan a bit as Amelie was treating her wounds, as composed as she could be, even she wasn't perfect.
Kai listened intently to the words as she was seeing that the information she was given before regarding the Dark Area was out of date. She mentally compiled the information as she slowly came to realize that the that she was having a living revolutionary handle the wounds on her back. In truth, Kai respected the depths of pride that Amelie had in her work as she would try to recognize the implication. "Victim of circumstance? So you do know what I did to my own father." she said softly as she assumed that was were Amelie was getting the comparison but in truth she did respect the origins of the city greatly.
She found something about the idea of something good stemming from a dark place to be a very powerful concept, mostly as she herself knew what that was like. She knew how hard it could be to fully stabilize after such an encounter. The philosophy of being held accountable also appealed to the inner lawyer within Kai as she was growing more and more intrigued with Deeplane. "I can imagine the amount of good has been done with a fair and just set of rules to help those who are trying to find some sort of stable life outside of wondering if they are going to be someone's next pray. But even for something like the Digital World, building a full city in two years? How far does the infrastructure even go? Is there trade routes with Rosewood or Terminus?" She said as she was starting to get curious as to how far things went in this city.
"I take it your in charge by your own authority and certain duties and positions are delegated, but are you the Empress by right of creation, or is there free election? I mean not like either system is inherently bad, especially since you did create this place but you're just the first. Also I probably should have led with this one as it's a bit different but... how often do the disgruntled Warlords who definitely have grudges against how you completely disrupted the local ecosystem and social hierarchy at the same time in one continuously and ever expanding gut punch to each of their power seek retaliation? She asked as she was curious about what dangers Deeplane had. She was in quite awe of the city and tempted to stick around a bit but she did have her own questions about the settlement.
"Sorry if I'm asking too much, before I fell into the Digital World yesterday I was studying to become a lawyer all my life. I trained myself to have the trained eyes of a hunter, silver tongue of a courtier, honed my inquisitive skills and composure to be able to get as much as I can out of a situation." She said as she was trying to not somehow overwhelm Amelie with questions. However after Kai confessed her apology she was starting to realize with how detailed Amelie was, there very well could be a cash prize to stump her with any question.

Quite the composed one, wasn’t she? Despite how tense the situation was, Amelie couldn’t avoid being entertained at Kai’s stoicism; the younger female was definitely made out of the sterner stuff, that much was fairly clear.
Entertainment gave way to befuddlement as the brunette’s ears registered Kai’s remark. “Huh?” She responded at first, puzzlement evident in her expression. It took her a couple seconds until she realized that, inadvertently, her point might’ve hit a little too close to home. “I’m not aware of what you did your father, but unless you meant that you murdered him or something equally heinous, I wouldn’t mind listening, either.”
That being said, she was quite satisfied regarding her little speech. Kai also seemed to have her fair share of queries regarding how the city was built, to which Amy smiled. Interest was appreciated. “Two years is kind of a lazy term, honestly.” She began, in truth, she didn’t exactly know how much time it had taken. Just that it had been a bit. “Two years in the Human World translate to fourteen years in the Digital World, but it’s hard to make an exact conversion since I wasn’t exclusively here nor there the whole time, and measuring the passage of time over here in the Dark Area tends to be quite difficult, since the perpetual darkness makes it so you can’t really distinguish between night and day. Kind of like an eternal polar night. The only thing that I had that’s more or less adequate at measuring time are Human World calendars, and those marked two years, give or take.” Hopefully, that one would be a more satisfying answer! What about the second question, then? That was notably easier to answer. “We have a functioning Trailmon station that connects with Terminus’ and other miscellaneous destinations. Got you covered for that one, even if the trip is a tad long.”
Next question? That one was fairly easy. Amelie couldn’t help but to smile a bit at it, even. “First assumption would be correct. Regarding the nature of this place’s political system, as nice as it is, I just can’t simply designate it as a democracy. As the person who brought this place from the ground up and the owner of the initiative, I consider this place mine and everyone who inhabits knows that; in that sense, I’m no different from your everyday warlord of this place. I just came in, took some land by force and decided to call it my own. A bit ironic, isn’t it? I’ve been called many names due the reported lack of freedoms my administration gives in that regard, and deemed as no better than the previous status quo.” Despite the plain and potentially truth, she wasn’t phased by her words in the slightest. “It’s just how things are though. Not much to be done about it!”
After a bit of a tangent, the young woman decided to address the actual question. “The answer to your question would be ‘frequently enough’. The enemy is both internal and external, but that comes with the package. Why do you ask?”
The answer came soon enough, something to which the brunette smiled placidly. “It’s not a big deal, don’t worry. You’re not the first nor will be the last person to come here with a multitude of questions regarding what is no doubt an anomaly. You’ve been one of the most injured ones thus far, though.” The girl couldn’t avoid chuckling at the comment, all while she finished patching Kai up. “I can kinda identify with that way of thinking, though. I’m studying to become an architect, and as you might be able to observe, the planification, layout and general disposition of this place was in part because this is a bit of a golden opportunity for anyone in my line of work, don’t you think?” The government part was something that came after that, but definitely not the first thing that had come to the young woman’s mind.
In any case, Amy sealed the last wound, and after smiling to herself, straightened up. “Your clothes are a disaster. I have a couple of friends that are more or less your height; I can probably procure some of their clothes for you to wear until we clean and fix yours. How does that sound?”
While waiting for an answer, the small girl that had taken responsibility for Tera’s health opened the door to the room, entering and seemingly not minding what was taking place. “She’s stable.” Her voice was firm, but a hint of joy was clear on it. “She’s currently sleeping, but she should be completely out of danger now. It’s a relief you arrived when you did; else, it’d have probably been too late for her. The girl can come visit her at any time. I’ll go back to keep tabs on the situation.”
After a nod from the young woman, she exited the room and closed the door, leaving the two humans on their own again. “Well, ain’t those good news? It seems like my daughter saved Tera, and now we can go visit her at any time… once you get into presentable clothes, that is.”
Once again, Amelie couldn’t avoid chuckling.

Kai listened intently to Amelie, for the most part the answers were as she could have predicted as she would be intrigued by the idea of a new city. As a little girl and for a while after her parents were removed from her life, she would find herself fantasizing about what it would be like to form a new settlement somewhere else. Someplace new, free of corruption of the past and where one could become anything they wanted. However she did feel a kinship with Amelie as she would ascribe her aspirations in architecture. Kai didn't have the artistic eye for such a trade, but she could respect the attention to detail and foresight the field had for building things to last to the future.
However Kai did have to give Amelie credit for one thing, the Digital World was a golden opportunity to grab hold of one's dreams for such a goal. She could effectively have the room and more likely the power and influence to build something as grand as a full city. Though the subject of clothes was a more, immediate concern. "I do got my uniform in my bag, just hasn't been washed since I trecked through the Bayou. But yeah, I could use more, intact clothes. Just no one ever told me to prepare for a literal digital eldritch horror."
However as Amelie's daughter came into the room, Kai was hit by a mix of emotions and feelings, relief, grief, joy, sadness, anger, and oddly enough hunger. She was honestly not sure if Tera was even going to make it. However she took a deep breath and let out a slight chuckle as she was trying to downplay it for her own sake as she did not want to visit the possibility of someone close to her in any regard dying. "I'm honestly not surprised, she's died seventeen times, at this point she's too stubborn to go out without it being in a blaze of glory or something." She said wiping a tear of relief that escaped her eye from her cheek.
She would start to look at Amelie as she was thinking about the offer to procure some less, damaged clothing. "If it isn't too much to ask, yes, I would love something to wear that hasn't been in an explosion yet please."
