Owen was impressed at Steyr’s initiative to prepare bamboo water bottles. Standard bottles more suited human mouths, not digimon like them with long muzzles. But bamboo containers were ideal.
“Ahh, excellent idea!” Owen said, cheerfully. “We could keep the normal bottles for storage, then pour the water into the bamboo ones for us to drink when we’re ready. Nice idea, son.”
It seemed Steyr was a bit taken aback by where ‘home’ was in Rosewood. “Ah, well, more of a working-home.” Owen clarified. “Of course I think of Ys as our true home, but given it’s a three-hour flight, not really a place to commute each day.” he chuckled. “Nah, I have a little 2-bedroom house near the park where I stay when I’m teaching. Your brothers and sisters stay over there as well when they’re in the area.” then he remembered just how much their family was increasing these days. “Ah, your nephews and nieces as well.” Hasenya and Bezil had since had children of their own.
Steyr then asked if they could cook dinner together. Owen could tell from his expression that it would mean a lot to him. The Gaomon smiled and patted his arm. “Of course we can, mate. We’ll cook up a real treat together.”
With that, he led Steyr back to his Rosewood house. It was half built into the hollow of a large tree, with the first floor consisting of the entrance room, living room and kitchen, with stairs leading up to the bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor.
“Now then, mate, we can make a meal out of any fresh food we have here that we’re not taking with us.” Owen said when they were all settled in, leading Steyr to the kitchen. “Anything left over we can send over to Skye and Max, since it’ll just go rotten otherwise by the time we get back. So, anything take your fancy?” he’d be happy to help make a meal out of whatever Steyr wanted out of whatever they had here.
