Lilly's smile widened as it seemed Katsumi seemed to be opening up and Lilly said "I think games are a great way to relieve stress by having fun and are a healthy hobby as long as one doesn't ignore the important things they have to do. Though I've never played those other games I have also grown a soft spot for magical girl anime as some of the characters are adorable and remind me of my little sister Circe. She also seems to dress kinda like a magical girl but she looks cute in her outfit so she doesn't get many strange looks. Maybe it is because she is just a little kid of about five but I don't know."
Lilly quietly watched Katsumi catching notice of a barrette she was wearing. Curiosity perked the young disguised digimon politely asked "Hey Katsumi-san, that's a cute barratte. Where did you get it?" Lilly herself had some stuff to wear in her hair that her parents got her that looked like lilies of various kinds so she also appreciated pretty things.
"It's okay you never noticed my brothers. LJ and Kshin may stand out but they still are underclassmen so I doubt many high school students know them anyway. As for Circe due to her current social issues she is being home schooled. I was too so not such a big deal I guess." Lilly said with a slight shrug.
Then when the borders of Society Hill came into view Lilly looked amazed as she asked "Wow, Katsumi-san, is this where you live? It's quite the sight."

The more that Lilly continued to speak her guts out, the less Katsumi was able to make sense of what she was actually trying to say. Every single reply she gave to the oddly-dressed girl seemed to remind her of her family in some regard or another, and at this particular point in their walk, it was starting to grate on Katsumi's nerves, yet she dared not speak out of turn, else she would ruin this so-called "bonding experience". " I don't really watch anime, so I wouldn't know," Katsumi informed Lilly, unable to do much with this information apart from simply nod and pretend like everything made sense. Hearing Lilly refer to her as "Katsumi-san" also didn't sit well with her, again owing to her upbringing and the fact that Japanese people usually referred to acquaintances by their last name. Not that Lilly gave her a surname to go off of, but Katsumi hadn't thought to simply ask her for one. The barrette went noticed by her, though, and she wanted to pry into that part of her past. This time, Katsumi wouldn't allow it. " It's a memento," she answered bluntly, hoping the girl was smart enough to understand what the word implied. She hadn't earned enough trust to be given access to this part of her yet, and there would be no compromises this time. There were just some things that Katsumi Hirata wasn't ready to talk about. Instead, she went on about her family some more, dropping some rather anachronistic sounding names with reference to her siblings. Were they foreigners, also? What kind of a name was "Kshin"? Something wasn't adding up here... Of course, by the time they reached Society Hill's outer borders, Lilly thought it necessary to pay her a compliment on the choice of neighborhood. as if Katsumi had any say in where she lived. " My house is just up the street, Lilly-san," she informed her, turning to face her properly before offering a polite bow of her head. " If you don't mind, I'd like to walk the rest of the way by myself." She paused for a short moment, thinking of her parents and their reactions, before continuing on, " ...Thank you for talking with me..." She couldn't anticipate how they would respond if she brought home a complete stranger, much less one that had so bizarre of a fashion sense, but it would have been just as rude to leave the girl hanging without so much as a morsel of gratitude, however forced.

"Oh I didn't know you didn't watch anime. That's fine. So basically to explain Circe's clothes to someone who has never seen anime is to think of someone dressed as a wizard. Now picture the wizard garb complete with a cape on a young child." Lilly explained not the least bit annoyed at doing so.
"Don't take this wrong but you seem unsettled. Is it because I have been addressing you on a first name basis? If it makes you more comfortable I can use your surname until we are maybe better friends. So if you like I can refer to you as Hirata-san for now to make you feel more comfortable. If you wanna know my surname I probably should of mentioned it when I introduced myself but I got carried away in my excitement. My surname is Anderson so going by how the Japanese introduce themselves surname first that means I am Anderson, Lilly. However you can still continue calling me Lilly if you want as I don't mind." Lilly said as she then took in what Katsumi said next before she then said "Your barrette is very nice as momentos go Hirata-san."
Lilly smiled as Katsumi said she would rather walk the rest of the way by herself and even thanked the young magician for talking with her. Nodding her head Lilly said "I understand fully, Hirata-san. I hope we can maybe get to know each other better one day. Maybe even sometime after I look into studying Tarot. Who knows I might also become a decent fortune teller as well as magician." Turning around Lilly waved goodbye to the teen and as she walked away said "Goodbye and hope to see you again one day, Hirata-san."

For every single instance that Katsumi expressed discomfort towards some aspect of Lilly's mannerisms, it was as if she responded in kind, almost like she were trying to hand tailor her personality in accordance with the student's. She even corrected herself with regards to her name and started calling her "Hirata-san", only to reveal her own surname to be "Anderson", which only confirmed that she and the rest of her family were, indeed, foreigners or expatriates. Katsumi couldn't help but let off a delicate sigh. It should have been obvious to her that Lilly was unaccustomed to the mores of Japanese living, so for her to become upset with her battery of questions and statements only served to reflect just how maladjusted she was in the face of peculiarity, much less unfamiliar social territory. Still, the girl finally relented with her verbal assault, still hopeful that the two of them could be friends at a later point in time, even after all was said and done. " M-Maybe some day..." Katsumi agreed, still unsure as to whether or not her parents would approve of her having such cohorts. Katsumi wanted to be hopeful, as well, especially considering that Lilly had offered to read her fortune at a later point. If she was as good as a magician ought to be, then it should come as no challenge for her to learn the secrets of divination. One could only hope, anyway. " Please, take care of yourself, Lilly-san," Katsumi said to her in kind, offering a gentle hand in acknowledgement of her departure before taking a moment to collect her bearings. Whew, that was a lot to contend with in one afternoon. But the fight wasn't over just yet. She still had Mom and Dad to deal with now. Once her house came squarely into view, Katsumi paused before the gated metal fence that kept it cloistered from the rest of Society Hill, furrowing her eyebrows in anticipation of an argument over how late she had been. It was better that Lilly didn't see this part of her life, lest she run the risk of further interference from her. Some people were just too virtuous for their own good, and Katsumi simply didn't like being the center of a problem. Once she felt ready to enter, Katsumi opened the gate, stepped inside, and closed it before making her way to the front doorstep. She had a key to get inside on her own. She turned the doorknob and took another step forward. " I'm home," Katsumi announced.
