Charles entered his apartment, carefull to avoid any sort of trap the police might have set for him. Around him the room was dark and silent, only a few last rays of sunshine passing through the closed curtains, allowing a feble light to reveal a small TV. Charles had licked the idea of his apartment coming with a TV included, but he barely used it, afraid he'd see something he didn't want related to digimon. Still, this fear was passing him now, especially after he made his first lasting friend since he had gone to the digital world for the first time.
He moved slowly and opened the lights revealing a rather empty place. A in fact the couch, the TV and the bed were almost the only things in sight. After a short inspection to the apartment, Charles sat down on his bed thinking about the last few days.
First he had met Mana, a persistant girl with a rather likeable nature and her partner, Ayaka. They became his first lasting friends in a long time and together they went to the digital world to find his spirits. They didn't find those spirits, but they find someone who worked for the one who created all his spirits and he told them about how his spirits came to be AND gave Charles a cloak that belonged to his next spirit, Nightspellmon, along with a few blueprints that could be read by using his digivice on it. The cloak was said to conatin clues to find his spirits, though the datamon did not explain how.
After that they came back to the human world, tired, and Charles almost got himself arrested, but he managed to escape only to find he had a message from Mana telling him to meet with her at Myashita Park. And then it got even weirder.

To even think about what happened that very afternoon, Charles needed a glass of water. It was all very blured in his mind, due to the kind of event it was. So tense.
The first thing that happened was Mana making her first awkward question of the day. she asked about how to know if a guy had feelings for her. This of curse, had stunned Charles as it was a theme he wasn`t used to at all, and the question itself was entirely unexpected. He tried to explain that to her, and to give the little advice he had to give, but it only got into na even awkwarder situation with Mana`s second question, which was about what Charles thought about her appearance. That of course reduced Charles to banbling. Mana took it as a negative answer and began to cry. When Charles`s and Mana`s combined efforts managed to have her stop, Charles`s mistaken reference to his nigthmares caused her to go mad and reveal that he was one of her two crushes. Then she passed out, and a enormous guilt invaded Charles for risking the life of someone who might love him...and who he might love back. That guilt was not yet gone.
Charles wondered seriously about what he was doing. The fight that happened afterwards, where a Lynxmon (or NegaLynxmon) tried to go for Mana directly, and Charles had only been barely able to save her life, almost losing his in the process. He wasn`t sure he would be able to keep with the pace his little adventure was taking so... Maybe he should just go by himself, leave Mana and Ayaka behind to prevent them from getting hurt when trying to help him. Or worse...
Charles took another glass of water. The part BEFORE the fight took more thought into him than the fight itself. Just one moment so confusing, so disturbing for him... he felt guilty AND happy something he hated. Mana had kissed him. On the cheek, of course.

Charles found himself wandering off to thinking about his spirits. There was much more to them than what Datamon had told him, since he was merely a underdog and a safekeeper. He needed to know what was he was getting into. And the illness of the Lynxmon which turned him into NegaLynxmon with the unexplainable sense of familiarity, it was just... he needed clues. And he knew where he migth find him.
As quickly as he could he got the blueprints out. He also took out the D-Tecto, as Dtamon had told him that the only way to read the blueprints was with a digivice. Of course, Charles had no idea why Splintermon would do such a thing, afterall, he couldn`t have a digivice could he? Besides, Charles didn`t know what fucntion in the digivice could read the blueprints.
Then it occurred to him... what function do all digivices share? Scanning.
"Scan." Charles said as he pressed a couple of buttons and pointed the digivice at the blueprints. screen appeared above the D-Tector with image of a digimon named Kimeramon. It was a freak of nature, none of the parts seemed to be consistent. He was afraid to turn to the next blueprint, but he did. This time it was a Deltamon. The next one was a Datamon. Charles stopped for a second.
So Splintermon had created the digimon they had talked to, and it seemed like that digimon had always been there. What was Splintermon working on? To make stuff like Kimeramon, Deltamon and Datamon.
As Charles picked his device he noticed something: the device was scanning his cloak. That was strange but Charles noticed something important: It had a map.

Charles was amazed. His cloak`s clues were in fact a full map. However, Charles had the feeling that there might be something more to it, however. With his spirits there always was. He studied the data his digivice was giving him. He needed to memorize the best he could, thought he hadn`t such a great memory.
Searching for any clue he might have missed, Charles almost stayed up til morning. He decided to sleep his worries out at least for a bit.
When Charles finnaly woke up, he was decided to make his next trip to the digital world worth it. He would go with Mana if she wanted to do, but he would get the job done. he would find his spirits. He would confront them. He would learn to control them, how to control them. And he would get finnaly get rid of them. He had to do this, he would not risk the life of his loved ones by wasting time.
But first, he needed supplies. He walked out the door, hoping this day would be productive, that his needs would be forfilled, that he would finnaly be able to see his parents soon enought.
