My Sister's World - [OPEN]
|

The moment Avery mentioned Aria's sister, the latter's eyes showed pain, with made the teen question himself why would she react that way. However, the girl then made her way towards the piano, and started playing a song that was clearly adapted to her current mood, since it was sad as well. When she spoke, Tatsuya's mouth opened slightly, as he felt the pain in her words.
-...I don't get along with her... I... I love her, but you see... there's a clear gap between us... My parents are... really strict. They think they must have the greatest, most talented child around... I don't know why, but there's seem something about it stemming from family stuff... I'm not clear about it myself... Since our birth, my big sister, a year older than me, and me... we're always forced to satisfy their demand. We have to be the number one of everything... My sister is... jack of all trades, even more than me, but... she's also master of none. Our parents treated her like a failure... and they began to pay more attention to me. I... to be honest, I got many kind of achievement, more than my sister, but... I'm still a normal girl... -she said. At that point, her voice became much more erratic as her eyes became wet. She was just about to cry, but continued speaking, nonetheless. It made Tatsuya pity the poor girl, to be honest, since he had a brother as well.
-...I don't want her to hate me, but... she's been really cold since that day... she used to be caring sister... she's used to be very kind and hardworking, but... my parents... they already broke her. The scoffed away at any kind of stuffs she did and she doesn't even get a single bat of eye from them for anything she done... I can't stand it... I want to rebel, but where I can go? I'm still a little kid! I want... I... I want my sister back... but I... I can't... I cannot rebel against my parents... I don't want them to treat me that coldly, too... I'm... I'm such a coward, aren't I? -she then confessed, making the indigo coloured ocean in his eyes turn into a quiet, but raging maelstrom. The right side of his chest started glowing in a faint black hue, a sign that his Crest of Freedom wasn't taking her speech happily. For parents to just force their children to accept their wills, without even considering their feelings, only to feel better... It sickened him to death.
How could those people even be allowed to be parents? It was unfair, too unfair. A person was shaped by their education, yes, but also by their own life and experiences. You can't just expect someone to turn into a perfect being just because that selfish desire appeared on their minds.
Thinking that he ought to do something about it, he stood up from his chair and went next to the girl, who was still sitting and playing the piano. As he got to the spot, he crouched, and kneeled on his left leg to be at her height. His arms grabbed her shoulders from the sides in a tender way.
-Aria... of course you aren't a coward... Stop thinking that way. In fact I think you are very brave, telling us how you feel. You aer right, your parents are being very unfair, not only to your sister, but also to yourself. You are you, not their reflection or some kind of robot they can program and expect to oblige with their every whim... and you shouldn't accept their desires without telling them about this. I still can't believe what you said... They might be your parents, but that doesn't give them the right to do what they please with your life. It's yours, not theirs, for fuck's sake! -in the end, he cursed, because the thought infuriated him.
-Now... I'm sure your sister doesn't hate you. The bond between siblings is deeper than you might think... I don't think I could ever hate my little brother. Yes, he can be a brat at times, and we might argue, but... Man, I miss him. And I'm sure she misses her little sister as well, Aria, so stop thinking that way, or you'll end up turning sadder...
Also... it's okay to cry, and let it all go at times. Many people say that I'm strong, not caring about what other might think of me, but I've also had my fair share of sadness when I was younger, and I know it's no good to bury it. So if you need a shoulder to cry... I'm all yours -he offered the thirteen-year-old in a soft way, his eyes having a warm look in them. At times he might speak without taking other's feelings in consideration, but it was never the case when another person was broken, like that girl. He didn't know if she'd cry on his shoulder or not, but he waited, regardless.

As soon as she saw the look on the younger girl's face, she knew she had said something wrong. She frowned, her blue orbs following Aria as she moved towards the piano. Where her playing had been bright and beautiful earlier, it was forlorn and almost off-tone. That was when the girl began to pour out her heart to the other two teens.
AJ was fairly surprised by Tatsuya's reaction, even going as far as to curse, but she couldn't really blame him. The situation was very upsetting. How could these parents act like this towards their daughter? Sure, her parents pushed her too as well to do good in school and continue reaching to go farther in life, but they never told her what she had to be.
At times, there had been a clash over her choice of music and even playing the guitar, but eventually they had seen how happy it had made her. Every now and then they did make her go to a fancy party, but most of the time, they would leave early. Thankfully her mother's artistic spirit balanced out her father's more political personality.
AJ remained fairly silent until Tatsuya finished talking to Aria. She stood up as well and moved closer to the girl. Placing a hand on her shoulder just as Tatsuya was doing, she said softly, "I understand pressure from parents. My father is an ambassador for Italy. We have traveled a lot and I've been expected to put on a certain...face I guess you could say, but they have still allowed me to be myself, like playing the guitar. Maybe you need to just talk to your parents? And maybe since you both have DIgimon now, you can repair your relationship with your sister. Like Tatsuya said, I'm sure she doesn't hate you. She's probably just frustrated with how your parents are acting. Just do the best you can with school work and other stuff you like to do, and if you're not good at something, that's okay. I'm pretty good at school and...I guess I'm okay with music, but I suck at sports." She flashed a tentative smile at the younger girl.

"Is... is it true? Will she come back to me? Will she... will she eventually accepted me? Does she actually really loves me like she does in the past? She... still love me despite the fact that she always ignored me at home? Can I believe that? I... I really want to believe, but..."
Yet now, it mattered so little when the much older boy offered his shoulder for her to cry on. Unable to dam all the feelings that already leaked, the girl roughly tossed herself to the eighteen years old, crying her heart out pitifully. In between her hysteric cries, she repeated her sister's name, over and over again, calling at her desperately as if she thinks she's at fault for everything that has happened until now. Between her sobbing, she apologized over and over again for something she obviously not in fault for.
"...I-it's useless... It's really useless... They won't listen to me... If... if I try to interfere, I might made my sister hate me more... I don't want that... I just want her back... I don't mind leaving out of that house as long as she's with me..."
Human nature is such a complex thing... Little did Aria know, her sister is in the same predicament, despite not exactly the very same.
After good fifteen minutes of crying her heart out, the girl finally calmed down.

Just as he thought, it was too difficult to hold those feelings without letting them go for a long time. That was the reason why he wasn't surprised when the young japanese girl tossed herself all of a sudden against his torso, her head resting on his right shoulder as she cried out for her sister's name and all of her feelings. Tatsuya embraced her with his arms, telling her to let everything out.
-It's okay... it will be okay, Aria... -was the only thing he felt appropiate to say to the thirteen-year-old. In the meantime, he shot a significative gaze to Avery, as if asking her to say something to comfort her kouhai as well. She was in need of someone understanding what she was going through, and Tatsuya was a great listener for those kinds of things, since his brotherly side always kicked in at those times.
-I'm sure you won't even need to leave the house, because she won't want you to... Just give her some time. Older siblings can become quite jealous when the little one is taking attention, although that wasn't my case. Either way, everything will turn out just fine, so don't worry -he said in a low, warm voice, trying to comfort Aria.
What was happening to her was completely out of order... those parents were idiots, but he wanted to think that her sister (who was apparently named Koharu, judging by Aria's screams and sobs) was not. Dorimon watched her cry, and to Tatsuya's surprise, went to the girl's side and nuzzled her leg with his white, flat snout, as a sign of solace.

AJ stood there a little uneasily as Aria threw herself into Tatsuya's arms. It was not the fact that she had thrown herself at the older boy that was disconcerting to the older teen, but it was that she was in such an outburst. She was not used to so much emotion, being a more closed off person herself, which was strange because her culture allowed a lot of expressitivity and both of her parents expressed themselves very much. Maybe it was just her disposition.
When Tatsuya gave her a glance, she nodded solemnly. She placed her hand on the girl's back, which was facing her, and rubbing in soothing circles, whispering it was going to be okay. As Dorimon also nuzzled Aria's leg, Patch also wrapped his tail around her other leg and nuzzle the best he could since he really was only a face on a green fluffy ball.
"It's like Tatsuya said. I really think everything will be okay. You having a Digimon now might just be the connection you guys need to get back on track." Although the girl couldn't see it, the Italian tamer offered a small, yet warm smile. She glanced up at Tatsuya, not exactly sure what else to do. Then it clicked. "Aria, you're playing is beautiful. Would you like to do a song with me? We can play for Tatsuya and all our Digimon. Then maybe after that, we can go to the cafeteria and see if there is anymore food. Feeding your new partner might be what it needs to digivolve to the next level, that is if you're ready for it to."

After calming down visibly, Aria's back to her usual cool, deattached self, yet somehow, despite all of those, the girl gave the four acquaintances a small, sincere smile from the bottom of her heart. It's really an embarrassing moment, yet somehow, they still here beside her. The thirteen years old wiped the leftover tears on her face as she start playing some more tones idly before commenting something.
"I... showed you two something really unsightly, huh...?"
More pressing, but this time, the tone she plays is quite calming.
"...Thank you very much to listen to my silly heart speak... I... I guess I'm really at that age!" she tries to joke.
This time, she start playing much more gentle, uplifting song.
"Of course I'll play. Shall we?"
Finally, the girl is back to her own self as she played with her beloved instrument. She need to cheer up, and feed a waiting stomach. Now with her path a little bit clearer, she should ask the two of her new acquaintance something about this new world... She wanted a place where she and her sister can call home.

Everything seemed to be alright in the end. Aria finally calmed down, visibly happy after getting rid of those dark thoughts that filled her head, thanks to Tatsuya and Avery's words. It was funny how they had managed to make her open her heart to them in such a short amount of time. However, Tatsuya had something in his attitude and gaze that made one feel much calmer by his side. -Insighty? Not at all. I told you, Aria... crying isn't a bad thing. You just had to let go. Don't you feel much better now? -he said with a half-smile, as Avery also cheered the younger girl.
When she mentioned that they should play together, Tatsuya chuckled. -Wow, Ave. Every time we meet, you end up giving me a live performance... Is it going to be a routine? 'Cause I could get used to it -the older teen teased her, although he was being sincere. He loved the way she played the guitar, and her singing didn't fall short either. Also, Dorumon seemed to share his same opinion regarding that matter.
It was then when Avery told that afterwards, they could to to the cafeteria together. The male chuckled, remembering the disaster that the school cantine was now, since there had been a battle between his Dorumon and another Digimon a little earlier over there. The place was a complete mess, and he didn't want to return to the "crime scene"... just in case.
-Uh, yeah... pretty funny you mention that... Hey, why don't we go out the school to get a snack? The cafeteria should already be closed by now, and there is nobody around there, trust me. So, I think there was a nice café near this building... am I right? I guess you know better, though, since I've just come back after being away for a long time -he finally confessed, cracking them a wide grin as his partner watched the two girls in awe, awaiting for the music to begin filling his ears.

"...Thank you very much to listen to my silly heart speak... I... I guess I'm really at that age!"
AJ smiled softly at the younger girl. "Of course you're at that age. But really, it doesn't matter what age you are. Anyone should let their feelings be known. It's very unhealthy if you don't."
When Tats teased her about getting a "live performance" every time they met, she just stuck her tongue out at him, wrinkling her nose in the process. It was rather cute. She grinned broadly as she began tuning her guitar again. "You're just that special, aren't you Tatsuya?" she asked in a teasing tone.
Glancing down at Dorimon, she chuckled at his awe-struck reaction. Patch had settled down next to the little fox as well, a proud sharp-toothed grin on the in-training's face. "She's the best, isn't she?" he whispered to the other in-training.
AJ blinked at this compliment since she really hadn't ever heard Patch compliment her playing, but she smiled and began strumming a fast-paced ditty. She nodded at Tatsuya's suggestion that they go eat away from the school. It was fine with her. She was starting to get a little hungry and of course Patch was always hungry. Obviously the teen was getting lost in her music again.

Completely different from the usual classical musics she used to play, Aria now playing much more upbeat song. A wide grin etched on her face... she felt alive, really alive. Now, it doesn't matter anymore if she have to get kicked from this room. She just wanted to vent all this steam of frustration inside her heart. However, it's apparent that the school is about to close pretty soon, and that most likely they'll be scolded by the student council if they stayed way beyond the time allowed. After several minutes playing, the black haired girl stopped.
"...Hmmm, Tatsuya-niisan is right... I'm also a bit hungry... Why don't we go out to fetch something? But then again, I never actually gone to any nearest cafe at all... do you happened to know any, Avery-sempai? I just wondering if you know any good places..."
Right on cue, the door knocked.
"Nakano! We're going to close the room soon! Can you wrap up for today, please?"
It's seem to be a janitor.
"Yes! Please wait a moment!"

Tatsuya couldn't help but to smirk at Avery when she stuck her tongue at him once again in a very cute way and teased about him being that special to get live performances every time they met. Quirking an eyebrow with his best playful and mischievous half-grin on his face, the teen shrugged a little as he looked at her. -Heh, of course, and I'm telling you again: I could get used to it -he said, playfully. -Aaah, listening to the guitar sure brings memories... -he said, laying on the ground with his arms crossed behind his head in a lazy manner, enjoying the upcoming show.
As they started playing, Patch approached Dorimon, who was gawking in awe, and showed him a fanged smile. -She's the best, isn't she? -the little Digimon said, looking at Dorimon. The Prototype Digimon then looked at his friend and wagged his tail. -I lwike hew music because my eaws feel funny when she plways the guitaw! -Tatsuya's partner said, not wanting to give his friend the pleasure of hearing that coming from him.
As they finished, Aria spoke again to give his opinion on all of them going out to have a drink or something to eat. -...Hmmm, Tatsuya-niisan is right... I'm also a bit hungry... Why don't we go out to fetch something? But then again, I never actually gone to any nearest cafe at all... do you happened to know any, Avery-sempai? I just wondering if you know any good places... -she said.
The young man was surprised when Aria called him Tatsuya-niisan, as if he was his older brother. It did remind him a lot of his own sibling, so he gave her a full-fledged grin with his eyes closed for a second. Something like a janitor then called them out of the room, meaning they'd have to go at that time. Tatsuya got up, then looked at the two girls. -Well, Ave, looks like it's up to you. I know a good place, but since Aria's asked you... your choice! -he finished, awaiting for the answer.

Patch's grin grew at the other in-training's comment about how his ears "felt funny." The little cat-like Digimon understood for the most part that that was a compliment.
Avery smiled as Aria's piano playing picked up the tempo to match her own. Their music twisted and flowed. It was strange, but whenever AJ played, she could almost see a visual represenation of the sound. Her eyelids fluttered closed as she continued to strum, until she heard the knock that was.
She opened one eye and listened as Aria conversed with the janitor through the door. So they really only had a few more moments before they were found. She stood up and placed the guitar back on it's stand before moving her chair back to it's original place. Next, she grabbed for Patch and held him against her chest.
-Well, Ave, looks like it's up to you. I know a good place, but since Aria's asked you... your choice!-
AJ sighed and shrugged. "I'm not good at making decisions," she whined half-heartedly, but grinned nonetheless. "I guess we could head over to that one cafe where we met, Tats. It's pretty good."

Now apparently, it's settled that they will go somewhere else. Tatsuya seem to toss the responsibility to AJ, making Aria smirking slightly. Still, despite rather not really keen on giving her input, the foreigner girl suggested to go to place where Tatsuya and her meet...
"I'd honestly say that you boys are way too used to those fake chivalry of 'Ladies First' or 'Ladies decides'... so I was about to say 'you should choose, Tatsuya-niisan', but now that the choice has already set... I'll follow you guys. There are still time for me, that's for sure. As long as I didn't exceed my curfew, then it'll be fine... Speaking of which..."
Aria eyed them suspiciously
"Are you two ABSOLUTELY sure that you're not dating? 'Place where we meet' sounds... so much romantic... it's like you're somehow destined or something...? It's as like butterflies in spring...? Oh wait, what am I talking about..."
Still, she'd follow them with Noir the Pafumon. The small Digimon looks very hungry anyway...

So, in the end, Avery had decided that they would go to the place that they had met in their first time together: that café in Cat Street where he and Dorimon had been driven closer by her music performance. He smirked, remembering all the events that had ensued that night, nodding to the fifteen year old. -Yeah, sure! It was a good place, wasn't it? -the young man spoke, with Aria then taking the word turn again.
-I'd honestly say that you boys are way too used to those fake chivalry of 'Ladies First' or 'Ladies decides'... so I was about to say 'you should choose, Tatsuya-niisan', but now that the choice has already set... I'll follow you guys. There are still time for me, that's for sure. As long as I didn't exceed my curfew, then it'll be fine... Speaking of which... Are you two ABSOLUTELY sure that you're not dating? 'Place where we meet' sounds... so much romantic... it's like you're somehow destined or something...? It's as like butterflies in spring...? Oh wait, what am I talking about... -Aria said, seeming a little flustered. The teen directed a smirk towards Avery, then tilted his head to the Nakano.
-Heh, not a chance! I'm waaay to easy-going and not serious enough! I doubt I'd be a good boyfriend even if we were, which is not the case. Plus, I've never had time to have a relationship, as I told you. Most of the time, I've been playing around with girls, though a few of them were really nice, ya know? Still, I managed to make it like a game, so me leaving the country at the next month wouldn't suppose a great deal of bad feelings. I know it sounds as if I'm a bastard, but what else could I do...?
Also, destiny. God how do I hate that word. Ave already knows it, but I believe it is I the one who controls my "fate"! Either way, that café is the place where we first met, so she didn't lie... Either way, Dorimon! Let's get you in the backpack already -the young man finished, his partner letting out a sigh, but letting itself being picked up and hidden by his Tamer.
Looking at the door, he pronounced a simple "Let's go!" and left the music room.

AJ laughed at Aria's comment about "fake chilvary." Even though she didn't have much dating experience, she still found the joke funny. She knew how relationships "were supposed to go" and she also knew how they really went now a days just from people watching.
When Aria asked about them dating again, she just shook her head with a smile. "No, no. We're not. We met at the cafe and we discovered we both had DIgimon so it just made us become friends. And we've had a few encounters since. So we are just friends."
As the other two rose, she smiled and hoisted her backpack to her shoulders. She exited the room and turned off the light and closed the door behind her.
