Nova and Sparkmon were flying on the back of Aeroveedramon to the Village of Beginnings. "Nova, I sense something big approaching from behind," Sparks warned. At this, Nova and Aeroveedramon glance behind them to see orange cyborg dragon Digimon with mark tattooed on his chest. The mark looked like half of a gear sticking out the back of a dragon's head. Nova used his Loader, which he learned earlier that it was given to him by Alphamon, to scan the Digimon. "Orange Wargrowlmon, an Ultimate level?" Nova gasped. "Not three in one day..." he groaned.
Great, first the guy with the oversized teddy, then Devimon, and now THIS? "Atomic Blaster!" the Orange Wargrowlmon roared. He fired two red beams from his chest. Aeroveedramon avoided it with a barrel roll, but it caused Nova and Sparkmon to fall. "Aeroveedramon, rendezvous with us at the Village of Beginnings!" Nova shouted. "This is gonna hurt!" Sparkmon warned. They fell through several trees, Sparks using two lightning whips to slow their fall, and either landed on or came close to landing on a familiar individual. "Ow," Nova groaned "Nova, look who's here," Sparks said as he got up.
Nova got up too, hoping they wouldn't need another healing session.

Yuu ran as fast as he could through the forest seeking his newly found digivice's signal. He had ran for what he thought was an almost an hour, yet he still felt the adrenaline pumping in his veins. Nothing would stop him from reaching his destination, even though he didn't know what it was. Even though his legs burned, he kept going because of sheer determination.
All he transversed the forest, all his memories related to his short partnership with Kyo played through his head on a neverending fashion, from the meeting in the forest with Duffer and Kotemon to the few battles he had alongside her, Kumbhiramon, their detention time with Ryouta and then their travel to the Digital World alongside Duffer, Karin and Yuuki to the most recent battle with Porcupamon. He thought of himself as a stupid, foolish person. Why on Earth he had believed that he could trust Kyo's safety on other people? That seemed just dumb on his head. He felt as guilty as everybody he had blamed along his way to the place where was right now. Yet, he could only hope that his new partner was indeed his old one as he kept racing.
It would definitely take a good amount of convincing to make him stop for whatever reason.

He watched as the boy from Duffer's group ran past him, not even noticing him. "What am I, chopped liver?" he asked. "And what happened to his Digimon anyway?" At this, Sparkmon began trembling, causing Nova to feel an array of negative emotions off of him. "I think I know exactly what happened," Sparkmon said as a particularly painful memory resurfaced. A memory he tried to hold back earlier. "I'm going to go talk to him," he decided "And I'll wait here," Nova sighed.
Sparkmon chased after the Tamer, eventually stepping in front of him and stopping him short from a small clearing. "I don't know what you're doing running away from your group, but we need to talk," Sparks told him. He glanced behind himself at the clearing. It was completely empty, plus he wasn't picking up anything other than Orange Wargrowlmon that was flying somewhere overhead, Aeroveedramon, who was supposed to be flying away, Nova, and the tamer before him. "At least stay away from the clearings until the danger has passed. I don't want you getting mistaken for my General."
Sparkmon looked back to the Tamer. "And don't sign language me, just write in the dirt with a twig or something so I can understand you."

As Yuu continued to run through the seemingly endless expanse of grass and trees, he halted when a guy he knew somewhat well appeared in front of him. That yellowish dragonlike digimon that he knew was Nova's digimon. And he stood up in front of him, blocking his passage. He spoke of the reason because he had left his "group" and wanted a minute to talk to him. He also refered to some danger that could only be evaded by staying outside of the forest's clearings. Apparently, an orange WarGrowlmon was hunting his "general" and because of that reason, the Sparkmon said that he'd better stay here.
Of course that he wouldn't comply to his request, and that was even worsened by how Yuu percieved Sparkmon's words towards his now only method of comunication, and he didn't like them one bit... but, how did he know that his cellphone's speaker didn't work? He had exited the battle a lot earlier than when the fateful fall happened, yet, maybe it was because he was distressed. At the end of the day, it was all the same, though, he just didn't give a damn about what they wanted of him right now, so he just huffed and tried to round Sparkmon and keep his way. He felt that right now, time was a luxury, and he didn't feel like losing it.

Sparkmon quickly stepped in the Tamer's way again. "Wherever you're going, you can get there without going through a clearing," Sparkmon pointed out. "Do I have to spell it out to you or even show you, or would rather possibly get shot at by the mercenary flying overhead over one little screw up?" he asked. "I already know that you can't talk since I never saw your lips move while you were talking earlier, so shrug if you want me to show you, nod if you want to go ahead and risk being shot, and shake your head if you don't want either," he told him. After a brief moment, he spoke again.
"The reason why you're in such a hurry is because of your Digimon, isn't it?" Sparks was sure that if anything got the tamer to stop, it was that question. In hindsight, the reason was pretty obvious though. "Even so, it isn't safe to run off by yourself, especially with something that could easily confuse one human for another so close by," to emphasize his point, he punched a nearby tree without even looking at it. Hard. This caused both his and Nova's hands to ache, but force the punch was enough to shatter the tree's trunk, causing it to slowly sway and fall to the side.
"And just think that Digimon flying above us is capable of much, much more destruction than one of my punches, meaning death from above, which is why I say to go around the clearing," he warned as he shook the pain away from his hand. You're not going to really let him go through the clearing, are you? Nova asked as he waited for the right moment to enter the conversation.

Yuu looked at the digimon with a slight tinge of anger as he blocked his path again. His patience was wearing thin as he began to grow tired of the digimon trying to stop him, yet, his mind listened to reason and found a certain quota of wisdom on Sparkmon's word. Although from the sky it'd be a dead giveaway that he wasn't Nova because their vastly different hair colors, he felt as if it was better to be safe than sorry. He didn't need a reminder from the mon about what a stronger one could do, as he had witnessed that a more evolved mone could do pretty readily, and felt and he couldn't but feel increasingly angered at the digimon who was butting into his affairs and guessing what was his current situations without even knowing, especially when he could have seen that firsthand if he had stayed in there.
So he shrugged at the Sparkmon's request and began to walk bordering the clearing, having fully realized that throwing his life away would accomplish nothing. Of course, he didn't wait nor want for the mon to lead the way. He felt pretty confident that he could actually figure his way out around this place all by himself

Satisfied that the tamer chose to go around, Sparks followed close behind. Nova also followed quietly, keeping the same distance as before. "I know you're probably still mad at Nova for leaving, and he does too, but the only reason he interfered at all is because he knew that I would do so with or without his consent," Sparks told him. "To be honest, something extremely similar happened to me years before I met Nova. In fact the guy trying to play hero in my had the same hair color and clothes with a few main differences.
He didn't have a scar, he had brown eyes, and he was a Tamer instead of a General with a Wormmon for a partner. My group consisted of myself, a Gatomon who was supposed to be taking us to the Southern Tropics, my best friend who was a Biyomon, and a Tamer with a Black Gabumon. We were being bugged by a lady with a Demidevimon just before the guy playing hero showed up. What had happened was we got on the wrong Trailmon, which left us in Server Woods." Sparkmon had begun describing his memory to the Tamer.
Of course, he wouldn't be able to tell if the Tamer was ignoring him or not, but he would be able to read body language. He allowed himself a brief glance into the sky. He caught a glimpse of Orange Wargrowlmon circling overhead not unlike a bird of prey. Same hair and outfit? Could he have been my father as a kid? Nova wondered.

Yuu listened to Sparkmon's anecdote about a happening that occured that sounded pretty similar to what had happened to Yuu's group. Yet, that pissed him off even further, because in his mind, he did commit the same mistake yet again. Remembering that he still had his D-Terminal with him, he brought it out and began writing using that lame virtual keyboard it had. He felt so pissed that he really wanted to say something to the spark, no really thinking about the contents of the message.
<Well then, you should really, really, stop interfering in places where aren't requiered, especially if you won't be there to see the end result of your actions. What would you answer if I told you that the guy in the suit actually killed the rest of my group, humans included and I was the only one who could escape because I left them behind, just as you and your 'general' did mere moments before? Would weigh in your mind that because a mistake you made a group of people who barely have an idea of this place were to slaughtered in cold blood? What would their families think about it? To be honest, would you even care? Because back there, you didn't seem to>.

Sparks glanced over and read the first part of what was on the screen and scoffed before continuing reading.. "FYI, both fights were inevitable, so really, neither the stranger nor Nova were at fault, even if they poorly executed similar plans. Also, I woke up eight years ago with absolutely no memories, especially not that one, and that one didn't even start coming back until it was too late," Sparks shot back, annoyed. "The more I look back on that memory, more I remember that I used to see that sort of thing all the time whether I was a witness or directly involved, so I would know.
Also, don't with the guilt card; Nova and I caught a glimpse of the battle on our way over to the Village of Beginnings, and the Kotemon and Chessmon are both missing with a Gladimon and Darcmon in their places," Sparkmon said crossly. "Anyway, I tried to play it safe and walk away, just like you. And of course, the Demidevimon attacked, and we wound fighting anyway. Things got worse when he Digivolved to Devimon. Wormmon Digivolved to Stingmon, but wasn't able to hold his own considering his weakened state.
Eventually the Stingmon, or rather Wormmon as he has forcibly Dedigivolved by the Devimon, and his Tamer left. Then Biyomon was deleted right in front of me shortly after. All because I had tried to play it safe instead of waiting for an actual fight to start before leaving. If I had waited, then Devimon would be too preoccupied to attack us as well. I then left the group, taking nearly the exact same path we are now, so I wouldn't know what happened to the others afterward.
Really if you're going to blame Nova, you should just blame me, because it was my recklessness that caused me to be weakened beforehand, and I would've rushed in on my own if he didn't waltz in, making it exponentially worse."

If the Sparkmon was trying to calm Yuu, he was in for a serious dissapointment. To the boy, he was trying to appear to be smart, but he found it somewhat arrogant the all-knowingly way he had made the first bit of his speech. <What do you know about inevitable? You intervened in the middle of the conversation, what do you knew about what was happening in first place?> was the first thing that actually came across Yuu's mind,
Yet, that wasn't what angered Yuu more. While it somewhat relieved him that now Chessmon had evolved, tears began to descend from his cheeks. Tears of pure anger, as he couldn't believe what he had just heard. He really wanted to punch the digimon, but refrained from that ordeal just because he know that he had no chance against an electrical battery. Yet, he would give the yellow mon a piece of his mind, that was for sure.
<SO YOU ACTUALLY CAME BACK TO TAKE A PEEK AND WENT AWAY ANYWAY WITH EVEN TRYING TO HELP? Pardon the word, but you disgust me, and even then, what about the Dorumon, what about my partner? Their blood is as much on you and on your so-called general's hands as it is in that suit-guy's and in Kotemon's; it's not a guilt-work, is the truth. I can't believe that I'm actually talking with you. Just... stop, I don't want to hear about your anecdotes nor anything you have to say, I just want to reunite with my partner and be on my way>.
Yuu quickened his pace as he wiped those bitter tears. He really couldn't believe how indifferent a person could be.

"What, do you think you're innocent? Well you're not. YOU have the most blood on your hands! The Bearmon would never have attacked you and the others if you had waited for me to engage him, but instead you tried to play it safe and got the other boy, Nova, and yourself hurt! They had two Champions against one. They. Were. Winning! We had our own job to do, which was take you and the others to the Spring of Life and wait for you at the Village of Beginnings! I have more than enough experience to know the inevitable.
Nova didn't have any experience, and even he knew it was inevitable! Argue all with it all you want, but it's a waste of time! Did you even leave the map and compass in the possession of one of the others!?" Sparks snapped. "Sparkmon, that was uncalled for!" Nova snapped. Sparks was too busy yelling at the Tamer to notice Nova was now on the other side of him. "You should be sympathetic of him, NOT angry at him," he chided. Sparks fell silent a few moments. "...No matter how much I despise you right now, no matter how much you don't like it, I'm going to help you anyway," Sparks finally told the Tamer.

Why this digimon talked as if he were a know-it-all. That condescending tone was really starting to piss off Yuu. He was the one who was the less time in the fight, yet talked as if he had analyzed every move from everyone involved in there. It was just... infuriating.
<Newsflash: Thanks to your general's ingenuity, I didn't even knew that you were there in first place! How can you expect me to act on something that I didn't know was there? I'm no genie, yellow dude, and if he had a plan, he should at least give an indication>
Yeah, he had said that he wouldn't direct more words towards the Sparkmon, but he felt so angry in this moment that he just couldn't stop <Yeah, right. Keep dreaming, dude. They won't win because that battle was unwinnable, and you better not to trust the outcome on your glimpses. If you recall, the first seconds of the fight were five rookies against one, and the bear dude still did a lot of damage to us. And in the rare case that an unexperienced champion and a plain dumb one ever gained the upper hand, Kotemon's most likely to make an arrogant mistake and throw everything to the trashcan, just like the last time. I only hope that he's the victim of his mistake instead of another being. And tell your general I don't need your sympathy, and tell yourself that your help is unneeded too. Do whatever you want, really. I don't care>
He didn't get why these people where following him, but at least they were rather nearby from the village now. He'd have to bear with them just a little more.

"Actually, you did know because your partner specifically said she could smell me, plus Nova had no way of letting you in on the plan or even hint at having one without the other guy knowing," Sparks pointed out. "It also seems like you have a second lesson to learn: anything is possible. For all you know, Gladimon could Digivolve to Ultimate and mop the floor with floor with Procupamon. Afterall, if I remember correctly, the girl's Digimon Digivolved into Chessmon, then Darcmon in the same fight," Nova told the Tamer without even looking at the screen.
Sparks was telling him what was currently on the screen. "That Digivice can only take you so far. Your Digimon's Digiegg could be mixed in with a pile of the hundreds of Digieggs in the VIllage of Beginnings. If you want to find her ASAP, you'll need my electroreception to pinpoint exactly which one's hers," Sparks stated. "I never did catch your name. I can't just go calling you 'kid' or 'boy' all the time," Nova told the Tamer. "Also, I know all too well how you feel. I lost someone I cared about a long time ago, and almost lost Sparks today. I had to watch as he was dying slowly."

There was so much things this digimon assumed, but who was he to argue about his partner? Nobody knew Kyo better than him, and trying to defend a statement by a claim made by her was just a mistake.
<Yeah, Kyo believed that your partner was out there. As you didn't say anything, maybe it was just another digimon and you were a spirit welder or that super sentai stuff. If you think about it deeply, she also wanted to be the bear's friend, and look at how that ended. And Gladimon... that tinbrain was one of the responsibles of my partners deletion. He ruined a perfect good opening to severely weaken the bear by having mercy on him. MERCY, OF ALL THINGS. Even if he evolved all the way up to Super Mega, he'd be defeated by his own stupidity. I would trust anything to it. If anything, the one that has chances to evolve up to ultimate is the bear, for all I know. And as I said, I don't really need your help. I really don't care if my search for my partner extends weeks or even months. nothing will make me desist on finding her. And the name's Yuu, but don't think that I'll forgive you just because I'm giving it out>.

Sparks scoffed yet again. "I wish the Digimon she smelled was our Champion level friend, or, better yet, our Ultimate level friend. I won't defend the Gladimon. In fact-" he conjured a lightning whip "-if I could go back in time, I would take this whip and wrap it around the Bearmon's throat before he even had a chance to Digivolve! The only reason I didn't is because I'm generally against deleting others," Sparks dismissed his whip. "In all honesty, I don't care if you ever forgive me, because I would never forgive a self-righteous jerk like you!" he told Yuu. "Sparks, that's enough!" Nova scolded.
"No, it's not!" Sparks shot back. "You want to hit me? GO AHEAD! Hit me as hard as you can! I'll even give you a free shot right to my face!" He wasn't just asking for it, he was begging for it. "If you don't, can I do it?" Nova asked Yuu, clearly annoyed. In truth, he was going to anyway. "But in all seriousness, you would prefer to find Kyo as quickly as you can, right? I mean, you don't want to take any longer than you have to, right?" he quizzed. "I don't care if you forgive me right after we help you. Seeing you reunited with her is its own reward.
However, I can't shake the feeling that we're not out of hot water yet."
