While walking, it's clear that Dracomon is happy that he got to bring Tatsuya and his partner along. The multieyed Digimon that currently with them also bothering him, but he decided to not care that much. Ryouta already said that it's fine. If he said that it's fine, then it's fine. However, he's not sure if Inori-chan nor Kizuna-chan would appreciate looking Ryouta's clothes like this... Like usual, Ryouta gestured him to be quiet. However, this time, at least it's not just him who have to be quiet. The fifteen years old boy sneakily climbed the tree near his window.
Slowly, he opened the window, sneakily and carefully, slowly trying to open the window, but...
"Onii-tan," "you're" "late". Two identical looking girl glared at Ryouta. Both have the same black hair like his. The first girl sports long enough of hair that reach her hip while the second girl sports short bob cut. The former looks girlish while the latter looks more tomboyish. Yet for some reason, the two seem talk like they shared obvious twin link.
"It's clear that Onii-tan..." "...is fighting again, so..." "...Ren-nii told us to..." "...watch over the window while he stay on the door."
"...Dammit, busted," Ryouta lamented. The door opened, revealing a boy that probably just a year younger than Ryouta is. He doesn't look anywhere as muscular as Ryouta... in fact, he's probably as normal as he can be. "Yeah, busted, now get in. The food gonna get cold... huh? You brought friends, Aniki?"
Following Ryouta to his home discretly was far more dificult than UFADO would ever have imagined. Between the constant flow of humans below on the concrete path to the house which Ryouta, Tatsuya and their partners had taken, and the large presence of cats and birds everywhere else, UFADO had to be additionally carefull to prevent the living things of this human world from making noise at the sight of him. Most of the times he succeeded, thought an eldery human drying her clothes did faint at the sight him looking around from a tree in her garden.
As they arrived at Ryouta's house, the boy decided to sneak in by a window. But as Ryouta carefully and painfully slowly opened the window, UFADO heard voices from the inside. The voices were highly similar, thought not completly undestinguisable, and UFADO was curious about not the words of the human pair, but about how they were able to have such a strangely used, deep connection. Humans were indeed fascinating beings. He would have asked about it to Dracomin or Tatsuya, but then the girls asked if he brought friends.
The thought about introducing himself there, stating himself as a friend of Ryouta right there and avoid future complications crossed UFADO's mind, thought he discarded the idea due to the problems it might generate Immediatly.
UFADO stayed silent, waiting for the events to guide his next actions.
Tatsuya and Dorumon, who didn't need to degenerate into Dorimon for an easier and sneaky transport for it was late already, followed Ryouta all the way to the latter's home. It was in the Residential District, so they actually didn't live far away from each other. Still, it would be nice to have a sleepover, though it could sound childish. It seemed that the other teen's plan was to sneak in without his family noticing... wrong move. They were already expecting him. As the Noguchi climbed the tree and attempted to open the window, he was surprised by his twin sisters.
As he muttered "Busted", Tatsuya chuckled, but was surprised by the door immediately opening by his friend's younger brother's doing. Before he even had time to be startled and ask who he was, or if he was the one that had been fighting his brother that day, the eighteen-year-old put his index finger on his lips, as if asking him to be quiet, at least for that time. Whispering, he introduced himself.
-Hello there. I'm Tatsuya Kazan... though here in Japan guess it would be Kazan, Tatsuya. I'm one of your old brother's friends -he said, crouching slightly to look at him straight on the face without any of them having to lift or lower their necks. That way it would help create a little familiarity between them and lighten the mood.
Waiting for Ryouta to head in first, he tilted his head towards UFADO's position. That night, they would be the ones that should take care of him and make sure that he didn't do anything he could regret. In fact, he was pretty sure that was the reason behind Ryouta's invitation. -"I wonder what goes inside your mind, UFADO. You are a wierd guy" -he thought, scrathing his right ear as a mosquito stung him there.
Ryouta slinked down from the tree. It's funny how different him and Ren could be... but beside each other, they definitely looks like brothers, down to their spiky hair, at least. Ren kind of gave a confused look when Tatsuya gestured him to be silent. Why? Something related to his brother? The boy who yet really grow to his full height tilted his head when the older boy introduced himself.
"Ah, errr... would calling you Tatsuya-san do? And I don't recall Aniki having some college student friend..."
"Met him days ago," Ryouta explained. "He's a good friend, and I kinda asked him if he want to have some sleepover here... By the way, Dorumon, it's fine. siblings know what Digimons are, so rest easy, you can interact with them."
"Is that so... well, I don't think I..."
"Ren, lemme cook for them. You got test tomorrow right? Go, go, no need to worry over me!" Ryouta slapped his brother's back in a brotherly gesture.
"Ouch! Hey, not everyone as strong as you! Geez... fine... but we're eating together on the table this time, and that's final, got it?"
"What are you, Mom?" Ryouta joked, but immediately shut up when his little brother gave him threatening glare. "Alright alright, I got it. Let's eat together... how about Okaa-san and Otou-san?"
"They're not going home tonight, they'll be back at dawn, maybe."
Ryouta gone inside with Dracomon, who gave Ren a high-five, which his partner's little brother returned cheerfully. "Good job today, too, Dracomon! Well, then, why don't you guys go in? If Aniki said he's cooking, then it'll be done in fifteen minutes usually..."
Tatsuya greeted Ryouta`s family, an action that confused UFADO. Maybe because Tatsuya was human there was no problem.
From the tree, UFADO could see Tatsuya looking at him. What could the human be thinking? Maybe he needed help clombing the tree?
"Do you require assistance, climbing Tatsuya? If you do, I can provide it."
Later at the mention that Ryouta`s family knew about digimon, UFADO decided it would be ok if he came in too. The open window proved to be still annoying and to still have the capacity to harden the way in, due to UFADO`s stature and especially when his upper eye hit part of the "entrance", which kinda hurt. In his former body UFADO had a helemt which prevented such situations, but now that he was incomplete, such things could happen.
Looking around the room, UFADO once more found himself thinking about how weird humans were, this time due to their home decorations. Where those papers that were spread amongst walls and floor given any fuction. Or was it another strange, questionable human habit, one of which made it so troubling for UFADO to compreend humans and find what he wanted from them: the perfect heart?
At the glance of Ryouta`s brother´s UFADO bowed, a gesture he heard was a sign of respect, something that might help him become an aqquaitance of this humans more easily.
"Greetings." UFADO said as he bowed, none of his eyes closing in the process , allowing him to scan the situation around him at any given moment "My name is UFADO. I have just met your..." UFADO wasn`t remembering the word "checking vocabulary...brother today, but I must say I found him to...Well, I`ll say friendly."
UFADO would have said "interesting" rather than "friendly" but humans tended to intrepet it wrongly.
Tatsuya chuckled at Ryouta's brother politely asking him if calling him Tatsuya-san would do as a proper name. Despite being his younger sibling, he didn't seem to be like Ryouta... with this thought in mind, the teen smiled to the boy, and spoke again. -Well, you can just call me Tatsuya -he told him, as Ryouta explained that he had met his friend a few days ago, and that he was a good friend... which was wierd for Japanese people to admit, but Tatsuya always had that friendly aura around him.
As Dorumon was told that he was able to interact with the humans without any trouble, the Digimon approached, but didn't say a word. If they were Ryouta's brothers, he'd behave for the time being, but they would have to prove themselves as well in order to gain the Rookie Digimon's trust. Tatsuya watched their conversation, as the younger one said that they would eat on the table that time, to which the eighteen-year-old nodded.
Afterwards, Dracomon approached the human and highed five. In the meantime, Ren also addressed them again, asking them to come in and wait until Ryouta finished cooking dinner. Taking off his shoes and leaving them at the entrance, as per Japanese ettiquete (he never did it at home, since his life-style was way more westernized), he muttered a "thank you" as he stepped into Ryouta's house.
Dorumon followed suit, without cleaning off the little dirt on his feet. Tatsuya sighed. It would be pointless to tell him, because he wouldn't even listen to him, so he decided to let it be for the time being. The fox-like Digimon looked at Ren with a long, serious look. Noticing that, his Tamer quickly tried to prevent the other human from fearing his partner. -Don't worry, he tends to get aggresive with new people, but he won't harm you, I promise -the older teen said, as he petted the furry head of his partner, the latter sneezing as a speck of dust landed onto his nose.
"That's a bit... too casual, isn't it?" Ren asked, seem rather perplexed at the other guy's really relaxed attitude. However at the appearance of the multi eyed Digimon, Ren's eye twitched, like he have no idea what to do with this guy. Dracomon poked him and whispered 'relax'. "...Uh... yeah, nice to meet you... too, UFADO...san? And... Dorumon, was it? Yuuki-nii got one, too, last time Aniki told me.."
"Sorry about that," Ryouta called out from the kitchen. "Ren's kinda stiff in some way... you can say he's really a proper Japanese kid, brought up to be polite and respectful to his elders... my sisters the same, and as for me... I'm too casual and hates too much of those so called 'stiff ethics'." On the last sentence, despite the fact that he's mostly obscured from everyone's vision, it's like obvious that he's smirking so easygoingly.
"What? I'm just stating the fact! Loosen up a bit, lil' bro."
By now, faint smell of curry has wafted around even to the entrance, two girls on Ryouta's room just now has descended down to the first floor. They looks about elementary school level, aging about ten.
"Oh?" they said at the same time. The two girls bowed to the guest at the same time.
"How curious, Ino," the short haired girl commented.
"Yes, Kizu... Onii-tan bought friends today," the long haired girl replied.
"So... are you perhaps..." "...a senpai at his school or..." "...his martial artist sensei or..." "...a tamer friend?"
Only then that they noticed Dorumon.
"...Ufu," suddenly Kizuna let out a cute sound while her cheek blushing. "How really cute... he looks strong, too... aw, I want to hug him."
"What are you saying Kizu? Obviously Dracomon is cuter!" Inori commented.
"But don't you feel the urge to hug him? Or probably feed him?"
"Now that you said it..."
"Kizu, Ino, no hugging Dorumon without his permission," Ryouta interjected. His sister just gave him a resounding 'boo'.
UFADO was soon to realise his presence seemed strange, even stranger than a regular digimon's, at least to these humans. Maybe his diplomatic techniques were failing him?
With nothing more urgent to do, UFADO followed Ryouta's voice to the kitchen. Maybe now he'd get some answers, before it was to late to get them. Dinner, would be a time of chaos in which it would be virtually impossible to not get interrupted. Even UFADO realised the abstraction of his questions.
As he arrived, the smell of the food boiling into him, with no effec however, as UFADO wasn't much given to eating.
"That seems to be quite a meal, I'm sure they'll all enjoy it. I shame I don't tend to eat. Still, tell me something...what is it that makes me so different from any other digimon, in the human perspective, I mean. I seem to obtain a reaction that is rather differentiating from the one's the other digimon do." UFADO asked Ryouta, with his arms crossed and an attentive look (well it is a bit hard to NOT seem to be paying attention when you have an eye for every direction open, but still...).
Tatsuya frowned slightly at Ryouta's brother insisting on treating him without much familiarity. Before he could even ask why, the older brother interrupted their conversation from inside the kitchen. -Ren's kinda stiff in some way... you can say he's really a proper Japanese kid, brought up to be polite and respectful to his elders... my sisters the same, and as for me... I'm too casual and hates too much of those so called 'stiff ethics'.
The eighteen-year-old half smiled and addressed his friend. -Hey! I hope you are not calling me old, Ryouta! -he said, although he knew he was referring to him just being older than his brother. As the two siblings started a friendly argument with each other, the smell of curry seemed to attract yet two more people of the Noguchi household. They seem to be two eleven year olds, give or take. As the girls bowed to him, they started to complete each other's speech, which was kind of cool.
As he saw them treating him in a very polite way, Tatsuya raised his hands in a conciliative manner -Relax! You don't have to treat me like your brother's sempai, or anything like it. I'm a friend of his... and I guess that I'll start being his martial arts sensei as well, but that doesn't count! I'm still just another guy, no need to be courteous around me -he told them, for he had never liked people acting different because of his presence.
As they attempted to hug Dorumon, the Rookie Digimon started growling, the sound increasing as the distance between them diminished. Luckily for him, the older sibling disuaded them from even trying to hug him. So far, Mana was the only one that had managed to do it, only because she just caught him by surprise when he wasn't conscious of his actions: in his Dorimon form.
-Well, you'll have to forgive me. I haven't even introduced myself yet. My name is Tatsuya Kazan, and this over here is Dorumon, my partner. So, you've met Yuuki, huh...? He is a really nice guy. Also, please don't mind him growling or not wanting to talk to you. My partner tends to get very aggressive with strangers, specially in his Rookie form -he explained to the younger sisters.
OOC: Tats, I'm sure you meant sempai instead? /shot "Aw... that's really too bad... He looks really cute and cool at the same time..." Kizuna commented when the Dorumon growled. Dracomon poked Dorumon with his wing and whispered, 'It's alright, they're kind and won't hug you if you just tell them no'. The rookie dragon seem really close with the family, as both Inori and Kizuna greeted him really familiarly.
"Ah, I see, then... Will Tatsuya-niichan do?" Inori asked, before opening her mouth again, but this time, she's followed by her sister.
"It's very nice..." "to meet you!" "I'm Noguchi Inori..." "...and I'm Noguchi Kizuna. We're twins!" "We're eleven years old this year!"
"That much is obvious," Ren commented with a chuckle at his sister's antics. "Sorry for the late introduction, too, Tatsuya-san. I'm Noguchi Renya, but often shortened to Ren. Fourteen years old, second year middle school student at my brother's school, Shibuya Elevator School, nice to meet you." However, this time, instead of bowing, he offered a handshake, albeit rather hesitant about it. "Yuuki-nii often dropped by in the past, back when we're still in Hikarigaoka," he explained.
Meanwhile, while Ryouta still obviously cooking, UFADO approached him and asked him what he thought to be the most fundamental question why he has failed quite a lot in his interactions with human.
"...Well, where to start... first thing, Digimon is already uncommon in our world... public have no idea what they are or that they even exist... Human, however, have better affinity with something they perceive as 'closer to normal' if something weird happened. Let's say, let's assume I start talking to another human about a Gatomon... then I talk to them about a Platypus. talking cat with oversized paws to an odd mix of beaver and duck... assuming they never heard any of them before, which one will they tend to believe first?"
Ryouta fully turned to the Digimon now. It's seem he's waiting for the curry to boil.
"Generally, most people will believe more in existence of Platypus... and when you show the real species to them, people will most likely reacts better when presented with Platypus... So, what I'm telling you is... UFADO, for human, your appearance is far more perplexing and shocking than other more common Digimons... that's the gist of it."
UFADO heard Ryouta's explanation with care, but he couldn't help but have his sistema run some words and expression for him to he could keep up with what the cooking boy was saying.
"So you're telling me that you humans find me...too different? HM... It is true that I was always different from other digimon and now that my body is this incomplete... Still, I find it hard to believe that humans having so much power within emotion and they still take so much importance out of simple appearance. Well, I think we might be getting a little far from my intentions. If you agree, I'd like to ask you a few more questions. Just a couple of them, in fact." UFADO examined Ryouto, trying to make sure the response to his questions wouldn't be too negative. "First, I'd like to know howw one can judge the heart of human, this is, how can I measure it? Second, how can I obtain a human's heart? I have heard the answer of befriending, but that seems to be harder than I imagined, especially given what you just said about why I had trouble connection with humans."
As Dorumon growled, he saw the disappointment in the girls eyes at the same time Dracomon told him that they wouldn't do anything if he didn't give them permission. The Digimon then looked at the almost-identical sisters, and sighed. Maybe being Tatsuya's partner was making him a little soft. -Okay... -he muttered, as he went near the two Noguchi girls and nuzzeled them, still not very convinced about it. -Well look at that. I'd never though I'd see you doing that to a stranger -Tatsuya stated, amused by the display. -This is an exception! Yeah, that's it! Since I know Dracomon and Ryouta can be trusted, I will try to be nice with their family as well -he said, still by the young females' side.
As the sisters asked him if "Tatsuya-niichan" would do, he couldn't help but to let out a laugh. -Hehe! That brings back memories... My brother used to call me that as well -he stated, crouching a little and petting the two girl's heads. -So... what are your names? -he inquired, with a smile. The sisters then completed each other's lines as they told him that their names were Ino and Kizu.
Then, it was Ryouta's brother, Renya, or Ren for short, who was fourteen, in contrast with the girls who were only eleven. -Fourteen? That's a year older than Ryuu, my lil' bro. I think you'd get along just fine. He is a little like me, but much more polite... so boring! -he stated, remembering his white-haired sibling and how much he missed him. -"He might be a spoiled brat but... he was a great brother" -he thought, with a faint smile.
-So you study there... I heard about that place when we moved here, but in the end I went to your brother's school, though that was almost ten years ago! Man, I just realized I'm old... -he stated in a joking way.
Two almost identical squeals erupted from the girls as they start stroking on the furry Digimon. They seem really fond of Dorumon's fur and all. Dracomon just laughed nervously and mouthed 'please bear it or tell them to stop gently. They're still kids' to the other dragon-like Digimon.
"I see, so you do have brother, too, Tatsuya-san... So you're an alumni from our school?" Ren asked after chuckling at Tatsuya's comment of him being old.
"I'm not the one sayin' it! Quit acting like that or you won't get popular with girls, ol' man!" Ryouta teased, purposely half yelled on it. However, as UFADO starting to ask question again, he start to ponder how to answer the Digimon.
"...I dunno, I don't think that anyone have answer to that, honestly. If you want to measure human's heart, you'd first have to be God. Human are complex creatures, they doesn't work on any kind of system, hence sometimes, logic fails you when dealing with human. Could you understand when a girl suddenly get angry for you for saying something you thought was harmless and innocent until they slapped you? People that doesn't really understand what the girl thinks would say 'no'. Therefore, all you can do to measure it... probably you can't, but you can guess. That's with feelings. To have human's heart, then... I think you Digimons don't need any of those. Some Digimons are as human as they can be in their heart."
UFADO heard Ryouta's explanations, taking mental notes on his following questions. As the boy finished, UFADO was just confused.
"Who's God? Some sort of digimon?...I have noticed your logic breakdowns. To me you are weird, you don't make any sense. And this feelings of yours...I don't "feel" but anger, but determination. How is it your feelings you and your digimon power, while my body was torn apart by..." UFADO was about to say "Yggdrasil", but hr thought better not to mention his desire for revenge against the king of the entire digital world. "Anyway, maybe your dinner is ready. I should go. If you need me, I'll be in tree outside. Don't forget to not leave without me Ryouta. I would be very disappoited to be unable to learn more from you."
With this, UFADO headed back to the room they came from and got out from the window. He climbed the tree and jumped to the next one. Staring at the moon he considered what Ryouta told him that night. He could hear cheerfull sounds inside the house as if their so called "friendship" was more than a simple convinient alliance. It hurt. It hurt to know he'd never understand this, he'd always be hated by humans as he wasn't really gonna get any pretier with his body back. It hurt to know he was alone in his quest.
Amd for the first time, UFADO truly felt loneliness.
As the girls petted and stroked Dorumon's fur, the little fox looked at them. After watching their happy faces, he sighed and resigned himself, letting them do as they pleased. Although he'd never admit it, a faint smile appeared on his face for a split second. He was turning softer, and that could be a bad thing, but he guessed that once in a while it wasn't that bad to make someone happy instead of just caring about his strength. -"Wait... did I just really think that just now?" -he himself was stranged of his attitude.
Since he had visited Hypnomon's show with Tatsuya and Antonio, something wierd was going on with his way of acting. It wasn't as self-centered as it was before... first, he thought it was due to Tatsuya's influence, but realized that it had all begun since that day in Whitewater City. He discarded those thoughts, and instead focused his attention on the twins, rubbing his snout on their belly, although he wasn't sure if they would like the gesture.
As Ryouta teased him about his attitude and that girls wouldn't like it, he chuckled. -You'd be surprised... Never had any problems with that! -he happily said, winking an eye to Ren as he awaited for Ryouta's reaction on his comment. Still, there was someone who wasn't adapting to the situation as well: UFADO. After stating that he'd be on top of a nearby tree until the following day, the Digimon left.
Tatsuya shrugged it off, but after a few minutes, he felt bad about it. That Digimon... maybe it was lonely, too? Before Ryouta brought the dinner to the table, Tatsuya also went out. Sighing, he climbed as fast as he could atop the tree UFADO was standing on. After half a minute, he was already at the top: his arms and legs were strong due to his traning.
-Hey! I've been watching you since we met at the park... and honestly, if you wanted to attack us, you would've had many chances already. So... Why don't you come with us...? I know Digimon eat, and you must be hungry as well... it's always good to be in company. Solitude is good at times, but not all the time... I learned it when I was very young -he told the strange acting Digimon, looking at him.
