In-Jokes Gone Too Far: Night of the Bota! (Open, Mana)

Horrible creatures from beyond the veil of time and space! Witness the thrills of fear never before dared to be placed in the form of RP before this very moment! Gasp in horror as you watch survivors fight for their very lives against a force so powerful it cannot be contained! See the creatures that send the most powerful of Digimon into tears of horror! More monstrous than Dracula, more deadly than Frankenstein's Monster, more furious than the Wolfman! Night of the Bota, a fearful and menacing event to end fearful and menacing events...
It was a bright, sunny day in the fields of Mainframe Hills as a Veemon and his family enjoyed breakfast in their cottage. "Please pass the fruit salad." The Mon asked his wife, a lovely Gatomon. As she reached past her infant son, an egg just laid a few weeks ago, a thumping noise became apparent. As they continued to eat, blissfully unaware of their fate, the Veemon pointed this out. "Dear, is the washing machine on the fritz again?" "I don't think so honey." The Gatomon replied, pouring herself some juice to start her meal of generic cereal and milk with. "I'll go check after breakfast though... Honey, is it me or does everything seem awfully... black and white today?" "What do you mean honey? You're still the same lovely shade o- oh wow, you're right!" The Veemon laughed. "It's probably nothing." He reassured, the thumping growing louder and louder as he continued his meal. "Grey or not, this food's still good!" The Veemon commented to his wife as FINALLY the thumping culminated in a pair of large eyes staring in through the home's window, much to the horror of the family.
An hour passed as Duffer and Kotemon walked through the fields, Duffer reading another comic book as Kotemon tried to keep him from running into things. As a panicky and terrified Gatomon ran up to them, carrying and egg, crying and screaming, the plot finally began as Kotemon valiantly leaped to assist her find her husband.Giving them directions, she ran to the nearest town to get more help. Duffer, who'd been focused on his comic, was dragged along with the mon to explore the damage of the house.

It was official. Elson hated children's song. His mother kept talking about how people had to keep clean to meet the love of their lives and have children, and Elson was increasingly tempted to throw himself in a pile of mud to avoid that. His partners just kept singing that hellish song, out loud. Maybe if there was just one, Elson would be able to take it easily, but there three. It started with Drimogemon and Tinkermon and when Silversteamdramon tried to stop them by attacking them, Tinkermon used her "fairy poder" attack and reverted Silversteamdramon to a baby. Elson didn`t particullary enjoy that (or what followed), but he kept quiet to avoid the same fate, now that his most loyal, fight-willing partner had joining, the childish singing.
Of course, the screaming from a nearby Hill, caused all of them to stop and run to see what was going on. A kotemon and his partner (which Elson deduced due to the kotemon dragging the human) following a Gatomon with a digi-egg. the human seemed focused on his comic book for some weird reason, like he screaming had had no effect on him.
"Hey! You people need help?" Elson asked. behind him he heard a weird sound and turned, seeing Silversteamdramon return to normal.
"We better find that assassin you told me of soon, my general, cause if she does that to me again, I`ll have him murder her painfully." Silversteamdramon said.
"You`re such a killjoy when you`re not a baby, Silversteamdramon." Tinkermon commented.
"Shut up, Wasp." Silversteamdramon replied.

As Mana and his ever trusty plant-forest sprite, Ayaka made their way through Mainframe Hills, things started to get really weird. They were nearing a village, when suddenly, things began to... lose color until they were just black, white and an endless amount of shades of gray.
"Eep!" Mana said as her clothes began to lost her favorite pinkish hue, only to be replaced by boring gray "What's thi..." Her question was interrupted by a piercing scream, and she saw not far away from here a Tailmon (Or it was a BlackTailmon? Or a Mikemon? she could only guess). Anyway, the thing was that a cat-like mon was running away from the village, and from said spot, she saw... two boys? Oh, and they were with digimons! Maybe they knew something about this odd happenings.
As she drew closer, she recognized Elson and Silversteamdramon, and a guy who had another digimon that was like a children with kendo gear. "Hi Elson-san, Silversteamdramon-san!" she said as Ayaka bowed to the boys "And hi stranger-san, stranger-san's partner-san! Pleased to meet you, my name's Tsumura Mana, and her's Ayaka!" she then made a pause, as if trying to figure out what was actually happening "So... What's the deal in here? I mean, with the monochromatic theme and the mons running for their lives"

Kotemon blinked and turned to look at the two who'd joined them. "Oh, hello..." It frowned and grabbed the Japanese handbook from Duffer's backpack. <Hello, little girl and...Street punk.> Kotemon said, unaware the identity of a Greaser is different in Japan than it is in Duffer's old horror movies. <I am Kotemon. This is stupid Duffer. He is my partner and I am his teacher.> The mon said, bowing slightly. <Gatomon has taught us of a monster attacking her husband and wishes us to find it.> The mon knocked the comic out of Duffer's hands. "Duffer! We have company! Introduce yourself!" The mon gave Duffer the book.
"Hey! I was reading tha- oh..." He looked at the group before him. <Uh... hi. Am Duffer. Is Kotemon... Monochro-Holy shit it's like I'm in the 1930's!" Duffer cut himself off to observe the unusual effect on the group. "Kotemon, are you seeing this?" The mon nodded slightly.
Taking the book back, Kotemon motioned for the rest of them to follow. <The Gatomon was telling us about how it happened before the attack... try not to use the term attack in front of Duffer, he will jump to many stupid conclusions. I was on the way to see where the beast had struck when you and your companions appeared.>

Elson and Silversteamdramon turned as they heard a familiar voice coming from behind them.
"Oh hi Mana. Ayaka. How are you two..." Elson stopped when he noticed something rather weird. Everyone`s colors were kinda...missing. In fact the entire world was black and white now, and Elson was suprised that he only realised it now. "WOW. When deed the entire world turn as colorfull as the first movie ever made?"
"Wait so the place really is balck and white and gray now?" Silversteamdramon asked.
"First the expression is "black and white", no "gray" in it. Second, yeah that did happen, and if you knew why didn`t you teld me before?" Elson inquired.
"I thought I just turned color-blind with Tinkermon`s attack." Silversteamdramon defended himself. "Why didn`t YOU notice, my general?"
Yet they were interrupted when the Kotemon began trying to introduce himself and his partner.
"Wait, did this guy just call me "street punk"?" Elson asked the people around him. After that, the Kotemon alerted his partner in English, before they continued to try to speak in Japanese. Elson decided he`d try to speak in english, maybe to avoid slowing things with a dictionary or whatever that book was. "Hum...I actually can speak English, if you want I might translate. This is..." Elson turned to Mana "If you don`t speak english too, Mana."
Meaningwhile, Tinkermon and Drimogemon moved next to Mana.
"I heard you have a boyfriend, is he cute? Like does he like you really, really, really, really, really..." Tinkermon began
"Tinkermon you might not repeat. yourself if you want." Drimogemon interrupted
"Really, really... oh right. Hum...oh I know, really in love with you? And cute, like my little mole here?" Tinkermon said as she hugged the much bigger than her Drimogemon.

Mana looked how Duffer and Kotemon were struggling with a Japanese phrasebook and not much after, Elson's translating request. "Huh, don't worry! Me and Ayaka can speak English just fine, Elson-san! A Tailmon and a monster, you say? That's weird, you know, mostly because digimon are already monsters... It's kinda on their name, actually, otherwise they would just be called 'digi' instead of 'digimon'. Anyways, we'll help you! That thing must be really terrifying to actually scare an entire village! What do you say, Ayaka?"
Ayaka looked pensive for some seconds. "Well, this monochromatic thing is maybe cause by whatever is terrorizing the entire village, so it can be either a really powerful digimon with sense-affecting abilities, or maybe... a fantasy because some over used and probably unfun meme about something that is not really serious or threaning in no situation at all but now, by chance is more than likely to put everyone's lives in danger"
Mana, of course, looked at her partner, perplexed. "Ayaka, I think Scramble Crossing's affecting you too" she said as checked if she had a fever "Most likely there's a really giant scary and possibly dark monster lurking on the city. We have to help them! So, guys. Any plan?"

Well, this was interesting. Kiramon's foray into the unexplored wonders of the Digital World lead her to what she had thought was supposed to be Mainframe Hills. Kiramon was never very good at following directions. Or listening. Had she gotten lost? Or was that just how this place looked?
Puzzling over the mysterious grayscale sight that unfolded before her eyes, Kiramon floated cautiously through the air, a confused expression on her face. The Fresh Digimon had regressed to her lowest form to minimize the attention she drew to herself. She may have also thought it was just cute. Both reasons were equally plausible.
Further ahead, she heard a commotion before she saw it. Just over a hill, three bipedal figures and a number of Digimon seemed to be engaged in conversation. Or was it battle? Kiramon was not always sure of the difference. Better judgement reasoned that steering clear of the group would be the wisest course of action, but better judgement had never been her specialty.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
The white poof ball cautiously approached the gathering of Digimon and Unidentified Bipedal Monsters (Ubimon), hoping they were friendly. If not, it was a good thing she knew a thing or two about evading authorities.

Kotemon glared as the few of the group began discussing monsters as if Kotemon hadn't said a thing. "Thank you for this..." The mon mumbled As Duffer began turning around and trying to leave the area, Kotemon holding him in place by his backpack. "Or you can just talk his ear off and try and scare him away. What would I ever do without you two?" Clearly, the mon was unhappy as it began leading the group closer to the village, eventually finding the home of the panicked Gato/Tailmon. To say the house was in shambles would be an understatement. Two large holes had been smashed through the kitchen window and the front door, each in a unique oval-like shape. Indentations littered the ground, showing that the creature had bounced rather than walked and was likely to lead the way to wherever this creature had come from and gone... if they dared throw caution into wind, of course.
As Duffer tried to scramble away, Kotemon having picked up his comic book on the way over, and he was the only one to notice Kiramon. "Huh?" Leaning down to try and touch Kiramon, Kotemon's grip kept him from getting close enough to pet her.

"So if Mana can speak english too, we`ll just keep doing it and we`ll all understand each other with no need for some phrasebook." Elson said, before noticing what Tinkermon and Drimogemon were saying right next to Mana and Ayaka. "Load Tinkermon, Drimogemon." the two digimon were pulled back to the fuson loader in rays of (now) gray light.
Still, the Kotemon seemed upset at Mana`s and Ayaka`s speaking of monsters and all that, before he began to wander back to the village, where they found this more than ruined house, clearly victim of na assault of some kind.
Suddenly a new digimon approached. Small...some other adjective? Elson didn`t know, the thing was.
"Hi there. You saw what happened here?" Elson asked.
Silversteamdramon, searched the house, looking for clues which could have been lefted behind the attacker. So far nothing.

Everything seemed to return into color for just a split second as Mana saw the little angelic-looking ball that flew towards them, with its intent seemingly being curiosity. She immediately went to where she was, smiling all along the way.
"Hi!" she said with a giddy voice "My name's Mana. What's yours?" after she responded, on in a really short amount of time, she added. "Can I hug you? You're so adorable! Pretty pleaase?" Even if the answer was a not, she would still try to do it, obviously not with her full force because she knew that fresh digimon were somewhat fragile, but the ensuing hug would be relatively strong nonetheless.
Ayaka, who had been to one that payed attention to the conversation, just sighed at her partner's antics before finally answering. "Well, I guess that the trip to the village's downtown will have to wait a little, after all. Miss Mana seems to be a little... busy at the moment with her new acquaintance. But maybe we have gained yet another ally, even if I do not know what is the purpose of this. The house just seems to have been attacked by your everyday random evil digimon. I really cannot comprenhend why this would instill fear into the mind of anybody".

Kiramon considered reevaluating her curious nature when she witnessed two of the Digimon being absorbed by one of the Ubimon. Unfortunately, before she could take the "quietly-fly-away" option, one of them noticed her and tied to grab her, his advance only thwarted by a Kotemon. The one who appeared to have eaten the two Digimon then interrogated her.
"I didn't see anything! I swear! Please don't eat me!"
Kiramon broke out in a panicked fit, scared that whatever happened to those Digimon might happen to her. It was too late to try Digivolving; if big guys like those couldn't survive, what chance would she have? Her Flashlight could blind them, but was she fast enough to escape?
Desperately looking for an exit, her only salvation seemed to be the cute one trying to coax her in for a hug. Lucky! Kiramon's amazing cuteness saves her again! Shooting into the arms of the girl, the Fresh tried to snuggle close and put on her best puppy eyes. "I'm Kiramon! Don't let them eat me!" She then buried her face in Mana's chest in a show of helplessness. Whatever these strange, Digimon-eating creatures were, at least one was susceptible to her charm.

"..." Duffer blinked and turned back to Kotemon scratching his head as the little digimon continued to be adorable in a language they didn't understand. Frowning, Duffer looked at the smashed up house and sighed. "Dammit, now we're in too deep..." He sighed. The boy went beside SilverSteamDramon to look at the wreckage of the household, unlikely to spot anything the dragon monster couldn't. One of the things he didn't spot was a series of black fur along the ground. One of the things he DID spot was signs of a struggle, such as knocked over appliances and scratch marks on the floor, denoting that someone had to have been dragged away. "Wow... what the hell happened here? It's like we walked into a murder scene." Duffer asked, approaching the tipped over fridge and opening it. Frowning as it lacked clues, he took a can of energy drink and began chugging. "...So, rough estimate, when's the monster going to come back and start hunting us down one by one?" Duffer asked between sips of the oddly commercial product.
Kotemon, meanwhile, approached the little digimon that Mana held. "Interesting... I don't think I've seen such a digimon before..." Kotemon, one of very few to be able to stare at such a height without moving its head, reached a (still clothed) hand to the creature, poking it gently to see the reaction.

The small digimon seemed to be afraid of them for some reason, except for Mana, due to her immediate need to hug the said digimon.
"Ugh?... Why would we eat you? How would we even do that, even if we wanted to? We're just humans." Elson inquired Kiramon.
Meaningwhile, Silversteamdramon continued his investigation alogside Duffer. The black fur and scratch marks were clear and widely spread, and given the gatomon or mikemon or whatever being affected by the black and white zone thingy effect, the mechanical dragon didn't pay much attention to it at first. Still, he began to notice something weird about it.
"The amount of fur on this pile and the borders of the house is far more dense than the rest of it. Whatever broke in must have left a bigger amount due to the impact on the house and attacking." Silversteamdramon commented to himself before turning to Elson. "My general! I think I got something here!"
"What is it?" Elson asked as he walked towards Silversteamdramon.
"This fur was likely led behind the attacker." Silversteamdramon replied.
"Not the...cat digimon?"
"That's what I thought at first too, but..."
What do you think we should do about it."
"You're my general, you decide."
"Is there a trail?"
"There kinda is, but it's a bit faded and the wind might take from place. Or have taken from the original place."
"Well, we got no better clue. Hey, people! We should follow this black fur!"

Mana was pretty happy at how readily Kiramon had accepted her hug, and even returned it (or the most similar thing a fresh could do). She giggled a little, as the digimon's feathery body tickled her a little, and couldn't but wonder. It was somewhat suspicious that any being accepted her hugs that readily, but she lost that line of thought as soon as the little angelic 'mon told the girl her plight.
"Who's trying to eat you?" she asked, not getting who were 'them' "Don't worry, Kiramon-chan, I'll protect you from the baddies!" she then eyed Kotemon with suspicion as he tried to touch the little digimon. He and Duffer were the first ones on approaching her, so maybe... "You won't eat her, Kotemon-san!" she said as she tried to slap the armor-covered hand away "How can you be that rude?! She's just a scared baby!"
Yup, Mana's mother insticts were kicking in full strength. As she 'defended' Kiramon from Kotemon's attempts on her, Ayaka began to focus on Elson and his findings. "Fur, let me see..." she crouched and picked some of it, examining it throughly "This cannot be..." she said as she felt the fur with her makeshift hands "This is... baby hair, I am totally sure of it. But, how is this possible? Only a giant baby or something like that could have left behind such a big parchment of fur"

Snug in Mana's warm grasp, and evidently not in danger of being eaten, Kiramon began to lighten up. They seemed to talk in a different language than the local Digimon, but it was one Kiramon apparently understood. Maybe she had learned it in a previous configuration? Kiramon decided she would switch to that one and see if it would help her communicate.
Now speaking in English, the Fresh Digimon introduced herself properly after one of the apparent humans pointed out what they were. "Oh! You're humans!? I've always wanted to meet humans! I guess that explains why those Digimon from before disappeared... I really should have paid more attention in class." Kiramon's face lit up with a pink blush, clearly embarassed at her behavior. She supposed it was safe enough to not need to work her charms on this human girl, but this spot was comfortable and she had no intention of leaving it just yet. At Kotemon's question, the Fresh Digimon introduced herself properly. "Like i said, I'm Kiramon! The caretakers at the village said my Rookie form's code was similar to a Lucemon. Does that help?" Naturally vain and proud of her Angelic lineage, Kiramon had no issues telling new people all about herself.
Then the others pointed out the fur left behind from whatever monster it was they were looking for. Having only recently left the Village of Beginnings and spent most of her life there, Kiramon easily recognized it at a distance. "The only babies I know with fur like that are the Botamon. There are lots of them at the Village of Beginnings! They make these really cool bubbles!"
