Off the Train [open/xros questing]

’Final Stop’
The train drifted to a half, doors opening and Takara emerging before it decided to do something along the lines of manual eviction and she was throw out again. It wouldn’t surprise her, but nothing in this weird world would at this point. It was a fairly strange world, with the mini dinosaurs and such. She looked around her surroundings, the first thing that was obvious was the sun, falling fairly intensely onto her sandy surroundings. It was quite a pretty place, or seemed to be. The sort of place you’d like to go on holiday to, and the sort of place Takara would love to sunbathe at. She turned around, suddenly aware of being alone. The Trailmon had managed to vanish almost immediately, leaving her pretty isolated.
She took a couple more steps towards the oasis, looking around at the desert surrounding her. At least there was water, and shade around where she was now. That was good, better than many other possible places that the train could have decided to stop at. She was sure at least one of the stops had been in the middle of jungle, and she’d pretty much just stayed on the train until it had thrown her off. She moved to the palm tree, and sat under it, lying in the shade. Probably better not to get some kind of magic sunburn immediately upon arrival.

"Ok...I am definitely lost. Where am I?!"
Kiramon looked around in confusion at rolling dunes of sand. The forest had disappeared some time ago, and she had completely lost track of where she was supposed to be going. The Digimon had been in her Fresh form for some time now. Apparently it was easy to go unnoticed when you were such a little thing that didn't bother anyone. Or maybe it was just so bright here that none of the inhabitants saw her. Kiramon was not burdened by such matters; being a Digimon of the light had such privileges.
After an hour of aimless wandering, she happened upon the sight of greenery in the distance. "Oh please, oh please, do not be a mirage again!" Thirst had begun to take its toll. Having been in her Fresh form for so long was useful in many ways. She was small enough to travel largely unimpeded by obstacle or person, her ability was useful for navigating in the dark, and her form was low level enough to conserve the bulk of her energy. Even with all of that working in her favor, even Kiramon had limits.
As soon as she was close enough to distinguish that the oasis was most definitely not an illusion, the young angel zoomed at full throttle into the water, making a decent splash. "Water! Yay! Water! Oh sweet water!" She gulped down as much as she could, completely missing the human that was here already.

Takara had been sitting down, enjoying the shade for a couple of minutes before things began to happen again. A small digimon appeared at the oasis, landing in the water and seemingly drinking from it. It was a little bit surprising to see given how isolated she had previously felt. It apparently hadn’t noticed her, and seemed to be more interested in the water than it was with her. That wouldn’t do. She needed to know things from this small creature. Like how it had managed to get here when it looked like it was only desert surrounding her on all directions. She looked at her digivice, still annoyed by the fact that it had smashed up her phone in it’s creation, expecting it to react for some weird reason. Nope, still blank. Just like it had been since she’d got it. The useless brick of plastic.
”Hey! She yelled, trying to get the attention of the digimon, but not bothering to move for the time being.
”What are you doing here, it’s like surrounded entirely by sand. How’d you get here!” She wanted some kind of explanation, compared with what she’d seen previous with digimon this one didn’t look particularly impressive. It was just a blob with some wings and a halo.
Stupid world.

Blessed water, oh sweet, wonderful amazing water. Kiramon had never been so thankful to be re-hydrated in her life. Then she heard a voice amid the splashing of the savory water. The Fresh Digimon looked up, greeted by the sight of another human. Oh, she did love humans! Happy to meet another one, Kiramon gleefully floated out of the water and zoomed towards Takara.
"Huh? Oh, I flew of course! Though, I'm not really sure how I got here. I never pay attention to that kind of stuff!" Just then she noticed the device the girl was holding. "Hey, hey, is that a Digivice? I think I've seen one like that before. I thought it was eating Digimon, but I guess it wasn't." A thought occurred to her. "Hey, wait a minute, how did I get here? How did you get here?" Kiramon never saw the Trailmon pull up to the oasis.
This human reminded her of her pet, the Hug-Machine, better known as Mana. Were there two kinds of humans? Were they all the same size? Kiramon stared quizzically at Takara as if expecting her to answer these unspoken questions. She was such a curious little mon.

"Why do we have to keep walking again?" Cosmodramon asked Prophetmon, as they wandered in the sands.
"Hm... We are ill." Prophetmon replied to his "student".
"What do you mean "ill"? It's hot and I'm starving, but I am NOT ill." Cosmodramon inquired.
"Well, we are. But not phisycal sickness. Do you know how sick digimon get better?"
"They sleep it off?"
"Yes, the can wait until it goes away on it's own. Or they can take medicin. And what do both those things share?"
"I don't know."
"Pain. As sad as it is, there is pain in the disgusting medicine some digimon come up with and it's painfull to wait for the desease to go away in time. So...what does it take to get better from illness?"
"Pain?"
"Exatcly. Walking this desert is one of the ways the stars have charged me to do to cure your illness. Ignorance."
"But I am smart!"
"Yes you are. Still, you still have much to learn and so do I. nobody should ever stop learning."
"Even the stars?"
"Even they learn. Oh look we arrived at the oasis. You see? After the pain comes joy. You'll learn to truly appreciate what you were given, Cosmodramon. If you did before you'll do it better now after our trials. Go and drink and see what you NOW think of water. Is it wastefull to drink water if there is juice in the world? Drink the water and then come and tell me the answer."
The young dragon rushed to the lake of the oasis, seeking a long refreshing drink. Prophetmon sat down looking into the sky, wondering about Cosmodramon's question. Do the stars learn? Was Cosmodramon's previous incarnation's sacrifice worth to make them understand something new of the digital world beyond Prophetmon's grasp?
Cosmodramon arrived at the lake and drank a large portion of water with her eyes closed. When she was dome, she raised her head and saw a human and a fresh digimon there. She turned to Prophetmon.
"Prophetmon! There are more people here! A digimon and a human!" Then she turned to the other two " Hi there! What are your names?"

The small digimon answered, and seemed itself to be fairly inquisitive. So far in Takara’s very limited experiences in this world that was par for the course, most of these creatures seemed to have personalities directly ripped from toddlers, and where more akin to babies than anything much more sophisticated. It had asked her questions too, and given that so far this one hadn’t upset her considerably, she would do the polite thing of answering.
”I got here on the train, the train which came from over there.” She gestured over to where she had wandered down from previously with her hand, knowing that there wasn’t anything to see anymore. The train was long gone, having somehow mastered the art of turning invisible.
She didn’t completely pick up on other things the Kiramon spoke about, not really bothering with the thing about the digivice eating digimon. It was just a piece of useless plastic as far as she’d seen, but if it wanted to do something, she certainly would appreciate it. She blindly hit a couple of the buttons, vaguely hoping that something would happen, but aside from the clicks the device made from the button compressing it didn’t do anything.
”So, in that case, where exactly is here? I’m kinda lost and the like.” Maybe she’d get some relevant information. Maybe.
Her attention was then turned by the arrival of more digimon. Apparently this oasis was some kind of hotspot for digimon to turn up at. Wait, one of the digimon looked a little similar to something she’d see before. A little bit at least, this one was bigger and stuff. She was prepared to talk to it, entertain it for now. But if it was that stupid thing from the train station she was going to give it a good kicking.
”My name’s Takara.”

Kiramon attempted to look for the train which Takara indicated, but alas, she could not see hide nor hair of one. Rather confused, she asked another question. "What's a train?" Of course, she knew what a Trailmon was, but not a train.
"You know? I'm not entirely sure where here is either! I'm only familiar with the forests!" Entirely unhelpful, but honest. Kiramon was native to a different part of the Digital World, and this was her first adventure out of the Eastern Timberlands. "Maybe we can get lost together! Though, we might want to bring some water with us. I don't much like being thirsty after that last trip." The Digimon floated over to the pond, looking for a way to get the water out and bring it with them. Sadly, she had no containers. Maybe Takara had some?
As the other Digimon showed up, Kiramon looked on in curiosity. She had never seen either of them before, but meeting new Digimon was always nice. "My name is Kiramon!" She bounced around, proud of her announcement, before attempting to land softly on Takara's head. Humans made such good chairs. Mana didn't seem to mind; would Takara?

"Hi! I'm Cosmodramon!" Cosmodramon greeted smilling. "Boy, you look cute Kiramon!"
"Greetings,Takara and Kiramon, my name is Prophetmon." Prophetmon said, bowing to the human and the digimon. "Hm...I have the impression I have seen you somewhere before, Takara. Shuibuya Terminal was it? Yes, I think so. I had some code spilled on me then got dragged by that DATS agent."
Prophetmon began to laugth to himself, a short laugther of an old man remembering his days of youth.
"Anyways, maybe you will recognise me better if...I...hiw was it I did it again? HM... Oh, right! Devolve!" Prophetmon continued and a light bursted out of his body before he returned to his rookie form, Collectdramon.
"Wow! That's your rookie form?" Cosmodramon asked excited. " You look funny!"
"Calm, down little one, I have simply changed to my previous level temporarily. I see you have an Xros loader now, Takara. Is that in-training your partner?" Collectdramon asked.

It was! It was that stupid thing from the train station. The one that had done- well actually she couldn’t remember exactly what it had done, but something about seeing it made her blood boil. Maybe that was Joey’s fault though, he’d been the one to trap her on that train, and send her out here. Now she was just angry again, and wanted to give someone a good kicking. That someone was Joey, but he wasn’t here at the minute, so the damn station digimon would have to do.
This whole tirade was interrupted around one second in, with the sudden landing on her head of one particularly happy Kiramon. Her hair, her beautiful, pristine, carefully brushed hair. She wasn’t about to let some digimon ruin it, she’d have to spend literally hours getting it right in the mirror again. Panic set in, as both hands started waving around her head, whole body wobbling around in a panicked attempt to clear the Kiramon off her head.
”Argh, get-off, get-off.” She screamed. She was surrounded by idiots! All of a sudden she didn’t know where to direct her current anger. The jolly, slightly cute Kiramon who had decided to try and sit on her. Or that damn other thingymabob which she was fairly certain she disliked. Her face had reddened up again as she breathed in and out, getting clean air into her lungs. Calm, she would try and stay calm amidst this insanity.

Kiramon was quite happy to be complimented once again, vain as she was. She could only nod in delightful agreement, liking Cosmodramon already. "Thank you for noticing!" The conversation's tone took a different turn as Prophetmon addressed Takara. It sounded as if they had met before. The Digimon spoke words she did not understand, but her attention was more focused on the sudden hostility of the girl she had landed on.
"Aaaah, the human is shaking!" Then the hands started in, one of them clocking Kiramon right in the face. "The human is attacking!" Getting the message, Kiramon quickly flew off of Takara's head, clearly not as welcoming as Mana. Humans were very strange. Fleeing with panic, the Fresh Digimon dove behind the other two that had joined them.
"I don't like this place very much. Where can I find a real adventure?" Pouting at her denial, Kiramon directed the question to no one in particular. Wait a minute. This situation was familiar. Not all of the Digimon at the Village of Beginnings wanted to play with her either. And she remembered how to handle them.
"Kiramon Digivolve to..."
Kiramon's halo grew brighter and large enough to surround her body. It spun around at high speed until it looked like she was encased in an orb of light. Just as quick as it began, it ended when the Halo stopped and found its place above her head once more. In Kiramon's place was a Digimon of similar size, now In-Training form. Her wings doubled in number to a total of four and gained a far more realistic appearance. Her eyes were now much larger and were framed by a gold tiara that also held up her new blonde hair.
"DemiArcmon!"

"You're welcome." Cosmodramon replied to the fresh digimon.
The scene where Takara and the Kiramon struggled was strange. The human seemed...aggressive towards the small digimon. Collectdramon wondered why, and grew a bit worries that she didn't reply on wether or not the puttit-Mon like creature was her partner. Collectdramon digivolved back to Prophetmon and approached the girl.
"Are you ok?" He asked her. Cosmodramon asked the same to Kiramon.
Then the kiramon asked about adventure.
"Oh, I know... Wait, what kind of adevnture, Kiramon?" Cosmodramon asked the angelic digimon before it digivolved. "Wow! Your hair is really pretty! Why don't you just stay like this all time instead of just wandering in a desert...wait why are you here, Kiramon? I mean, DemiArcmon?"
"I can ask you the same as Cosmodramon asked Demiarcmon. Why are you here, in the desert? You have an xros loader which means none of your partners could go to in-training or below, I remember that much now. So...where's your partner? Don't you have one?" Prophetmon asked the xros general.

And now they where evolving. Well digivolving, everything in this place was digi-something. Digimon, digivice, digital world, digivolve, it was going to drive her up the wall. Takara continued to try and breath, and remain calm amidst what she translated in her head to be complete chaos and carnage. At least she’d successfully dislodged the Kiramon, or Demi-Arcmon as it was now from her head, and it had retreated away from her, hiding with the other two. The Prophetmon approached her at this point, asking about her digimon and stuff. She would be calm, she would reply appropriately.
”Course not, I’ve only just like, got here. And this place is kinda isolated, beats me how anything would actually be able to stay around here for too much time. Way too warm, and looks like there’s only one bit of water. How’d you get here?”
She was still a little bit in the inquisitive nature.
”And besides, it’s not like things just pop out of the ground.”
As it the universe was somehow aligning against her, in a determined manned to make her eat her own words, upon finishing the sentence the ground below her began to rumble. The tremors started lightly, before growing stronger. Something was certainly about to happen.

"I like to travel in my Fresh form! It's so easy to go around unnoticed, plus my flashlight makes it easy to travel at night! I am here because I am looking for an adventure, obviously!" Kiramon, or rather, DemiArcmon as she was now called, gravitated toward Cosmodramon, the only one seeming to give her positive attention. "Don't worry about me; humans don't seem to hit very hard. This one time, I was in a haunted mansion? Now that was dangerous!" Content to recount her tales of glory and wonder, DemiArcmon almost forgot why she digivolved in the first place.
Casually floating away and behind Takara, she took a big breath before shouting. "Flashbang!" A loud noise was accompanied by a bright flash of light, right behind the poor girl. "That was for hitting me in the face! Nyahahahaha~!" She quickly zoomed back to Cosmodramon in the event that her genius plan resulted in retaliation, where she was promptly distracted by the rumbling of the ground. The last time that happened... well, she did not want to think about that incident. Best to let sleeping Botamon lay. Floating down to the sand, DemiArcmon began poking at it with one of her wings.

Prophetmon now knew the truth, the girl did not have her partner yet. And she was clearly upset that she was in this part of the digital world. If she had been left here by a lazy trailmon then it would explain why she was in this particular spot without a having a partner and the train noises, Cosmodramon said she heard earlier.
"Takara, it's normal that it is hot, we're in the middle of a desert. The folder desert to be precise. I imagine you're not very familiar with the digital world? As for how I got here, if you refer to the digital world I arrived through a portal on the Shibuya river, but if you mean how I got to this oasis, then I have to say, I simply walked here. The stars have tasked me with teaching Cosmodramon, and what better way to teach the value of things such water, than having them lack?" Prophetmon explained. "Call me harsh, but I have found this to be an important lesson which cannot be be just overlooked, and yet, too many do, as they have not learned it properly."
The ground began shaking at that point, as if something wanted to pop out. Preparing himself fir a possible fight, Prophetmon wondered what it could be.
In the meantime, Cosmodramon continued her chat with Demiarcmon.
" If you just want to wander about, you could come with me and Prophetmon! It would be so fun! We could be best friends! Playing around, Prophetmon teaching us both about the digital world and the human world and the stars... It would be great!" Cosmodramon told the in-training "And I'm really glad you're fine. It..."
Cosmodramon was interrupted by Demiarcmon's revenge on Takara and she didn't like it one bit.
"Hey Demiarcmon, that was not nice. Prophetmon always says that you should hold back on revenge, always, to make a peacefull world. You want a peacefull world too, right? He also says it's rude to interrupt people." Cosmodramon stated.

”Eek!”Takara wasn’t a fan of the prank played by the DemiArcmon one bit. Between the rumbling ground, and the frights she was receiving, everything was going a little bit haywire. She wished the train would come back again, randomly spawn and let her take a trip back home. That would be nice. But tragically it was also highly improbable, chances where that she’d probably be stuck here for at least a little while longer. The rumbling grew heavier, before finally the source was revealed. The sight was something to behold, a large rocky turtle like creature, swinging it’s head around, while a smaller, white furred creature armed with a sword clung desperately to the creature, currently situated a little above the left eye. There was an assortment of roars, stamping, and various other actions, as the Spadamon did all it could not to be dislodged, and probably dinner for the Tortomon. Takara watched, a little confused as to the sight. It was generally difficult to know just quite where they’d come from, aside from the ground. She looked at the various digimon nearby her, expectantly assuming they’d do something. ”Go, on, do something.” She yelled, not willing to even wait for one of them to react before having another outburst.
