Today was a pretty good day to be outside. Although it looked as though it might have rained earlier, most of the clouds have departed and the sun was now shining. It wasn't that hot or cold either, in fact the weather could be said as just right. So why not take a trip to the park?
Deciding to go out for some fresh air, Hugo had taken his board in order to clear his mind. He'd recently failed a test at school despite having stayed up all night studying. Maybe a quick wink wouldn't have hurt, but it was so late by the time he'd finished, he was afraid he'd never wake up. So he decided to just endure the few leftover hours and drink a ton of coffee before going to school. Obviously, he had made the wrong choice.
"Man, screw this." Hugo mumbled to himself as he made his way to the park. The music coming from his mp3 player played loudly as he walked, but even that couldn't take his mind off his failure. He repeatedly changed the song playing, something he almost never did. He took out his cellphone and checked the time repeatedly, not really knowing why. "This is stupid."
Arriving at Miyashita Park, Hugo hopped onto his board and started to move along the designated path. As he moved, his mind became blank, only feeling the euphoria of the movement of his board on the ground. He moved swiftly along the path, skating around others as he passed them. He began to relax, so maybe he'd just skate around here for a while until he felt better.
"Yeah, this is better."

How long had it been? A month? Two? Three? How had it been since that kid turned into a colorfull egg, since he had sold everything to the first buyer, since he began having nightmares of regret? And yet he woke up once more with one of them, breathing hardly in bed.
The rest of the day hadn't been to perfect either. Over the last couple weeks, the exhaustion had led him into a plentira of stupid mistakes, even though the girl he taught was only a second grader. Not to mention he lived in the same house as her.
Today was no exception. He arrived with his underpants over his pants and only noticed that when his best friend's daugther explained why she was gigling. Later he attempted to teach her that four times four equaled eight and in the end of the class made a bow against the wall. Needless to say, it hurt a lot and so he thought a little trip to the park by himself wouldn't hurt.
The walking was relaxing, so sweet. But suddenly he started hearing music. That would be normal, as people tended to get their music loud, but this one was...approaching?
Sidney turned and saw a boy in a skateboard coming right at him. |

Hugo had a tendency to block out the outside world when he was enjoying himself. Usually he'd just start to go through the motions. It was as if his mind wasn't there but present at the same time. Sound was blank, and only a silent moving picture remained.
Buzz Buzz
"Huh?" Feeling the vibration of his phone in his pocket, he reached one of his hands in order to retrieve it. He struggled to get his fingers in there. Unfortunately, his pocket tightly restricted the device to his body. Hugo grunted as tried to slightly move his thigh to free up some room but was unsuccessful. He couldn't get it now so he decided he'd just check who it was after a stop.
Coming to his senses, Hugo realized that he'd forgotten to keep his eye on the path ahead of him. The music from his headphones also seemed to return from nowhere. Hugo looked forward to see someone in front of him. If he hadn't been distracted he could usually just go around, but it was too late. He threw his back foot onto the ground, stomping the pavement. He was then launched off his board, stumbling forward as he crashed into the person.
"Aw, jeez, for the love of..." Hugo said as he picked himself up. "People seriously need to...ugh..." He had slight pains around his body, but nothing he wasn't already used to. He saw his beanie lying in front of him and quickly snatched it off the ground, putting on his head. His headphones which ran under his shirt had fallen out his ears and over his chest. As he tried to get up, he looked at the person he'd crashed into. "Yo, are you okay man?"

One thing was for sure: Sidney should get out of the way. Yet, he didn't. His body just froze as he saw the skatboarder come to fast to stop and they just hit each other. The man got thrown into the ground as one would expect, hitting with his head again. He was pretty sure that at this rate, his head would explode into a million pieces before the day was over.
The kid gathered his belongings and asked if he was okay, as Sidney sat down and looked upon the his open suit case. He grabbed the papers quickly and shoved back into the suitcase which he shut twice as fast, hoping the kid had not seen the many photos of the mistakes of Sidney's own youth, now lost to the passage of time.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Are you?" Sideny said, standing up. Sidney offered a hand to the kid "So, what's your name? Don't you have school today to attend to?" |

Hugo tried to pull himself together, his mind readjusting as his vision slowly regained focus. Breathe. Just take deep breaths and everything will be okay. Everything will be okay.
Hearing a shuffling of papers, Hugo looked up but saw nothing. Still on his hands and knees he pondered what that could've been. Maybe it was the wind? Maybe the sound was all in his head or something. Maybe he was just losing it. But apparently he still had a solid grasp on reality as he saw a hand reach out towards him.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Are you? So, what's your name? Don't you have school today to attend to?"
Who was this guy? He looked a little shifty, but he acted nice so Hugo grabbed his hand. He shook his foot as a short stream of "ows" came from his mouth. He studied the guy who looked a little old. Older than him at least. He also had a suitcase on him which probably he was some businessman or some other important guy. Maybe a CEO or some sort of...teacher?
"Yeah, I'm okay. Don't worry about it." Hugo kneeled over to pick up his board which had flipped over. "School? Uh, not today...I uh...got sick?" Hugo was obviously lying through his teeth. "You don't work for any of the schools around here, do you?"
Hopefully, he wasn't going to be in trouble, but he had to make sure. It was still school hours and if this guy was a teacher, he could be in trouble. Worse, what if this guy was a cop? He could actually do something then. He'd have to stay alert around this guy.
"Ohm, I'm Hugo by the way. Nice to meet you sir." Hugo bowed down to show his respect for this man. "And if I may ask who you are?"

Sidney helped the boy up and laugthed loudly when he asked if he was a teacher after he rather obviously fake excuse for not being in school.
"Don`t worry, I have no intention of reporting you to anyone. Yes, I am a teacher, but a private teacher, so no affliation to any school other than the one I studied in myself. I do have a few friends who do work in a school here in Shibuya, so maybe you should get back, whatever is the real reason you`re not there. I won`t force you, however, just pay a bit more attention when you`re skateboarding, otherwise nobody will ever let you drive a car. Think about that." Sidney told the boy with a smile on his face. The boy then introduced himself as Hugo "Well, then nice to meet you Hugo. My name`s Sidney, but just call me professor, that`s what most people do."
Sidney bowed to the boy as well and then offered his hand to shake.
"Anyway, tell me, what was it you were listening to? The music kinda seemed to have the right beat." Sidney stated.
(OOC: Just to make this clear, Sidney won`t get his partner until there is this whole freak-out scene with somebody else`s digimon. So, if you intente to make this the thread where your guy get`s his digimon, go ahead and you can do it now.) |

This guy was alright, at least as okay as a person of his standing could be. The pain of the initial fall for the most part had subsided, Hugo was now free to take in what was happening without being annoyed by it. The guy had introduced himself as Sidney and apparently he was a teacher, but the way he described himself calmed Hugo down as he didn't work at his school.
I do have a few friends who do work in a school here in Shibuya, so maybe you should get back...however, just pay a bit more attention when you`re skateboarding, otherwise nobody will ever let you drive a car. Think about that.
Man this guy sure could give a lecture even when he wasn't teaching. Even though he introduced himself as Sidney, he still preferred to be called Professor. Would he teach Hugo that green means go? Probably not. He did sound like he was trying to help, so he'd get the benefit of the doubt.
"Thanks for the advice, Professor..." Calling someone that out here was uncomforting. After saying that Hugo paused, looked at the Professor's hand and shook it. "You see though, with this board, I wont need a car!" A sumg grin took his face. "There's more freedom with it." Hugo thought about the inquiry about what he was listening to, pulling out his mp3. "Oh, it's just one of my beats. I made it when I was at home. It's okay I guess, but it still needs some work."
He put his music player away. He'd examined it and it looked okay. "You know with that briefcase. Were you heading somewhere?

Around them the park was continuing it's own busy life. Some people walked their dogs as they clashed on each other. Not to far a baby was crying for his pacifier, a sound that clearly disturbed everyone around. A pair of lovers kissed behind a tree, trying not to be seen. All this around Sidney's conversation with the teenager.
Hugo made a comment on not needing a car due to having his skateboard. Sidney chuckled at this. The conversation with this kid was bring amusing, even managing to get him yo feel a little better. Sidney recalled his own youth, his past joys and mistakes. He too a quick glance at his briefcase, recalling his first girlfriend...and the way they broke up. Suddenly he wasn't all that amused, yet he should provide Hugo an answer.
"Well I'll leave that for you to decide. I will insist, however on the name of that music." Sidney told Hugo. Then the kid asked about where he was going. "Oh, I was just getting a rest from a tiresome day of work." |

The park was tranquil and despite what had happened between Hugo and Sidney, not many people took notice. Sure there were a couple quick glances at the two, but nothing more than that. If someone broke an arm or was decapitated things would surely be different.
The conversation between the two continued as it did and Sidney once again inquired about Hugo's music. This guy was sure pressing for the name of the song. Hugo once again pulled his player from his pocket to check the listing.
"Well, it doesn't really have a name. It's called 'Flow,' but I might do something with that later." Sidney did sound like he was interested though. Maybe he was going to look the track up later; he'd be unfortunate though as the song was original and couldn't be found on the net or in stores. "If you want I can put it and a bunch of other stuff I've made on your MP3 player. It wont take long." The request was a long shot, but why not ask.
Apparently, this guy was just getting off work too. And by the way he was describing it, his back must've been killing him. This dude was old looking, balding and everything, of course he was probably ancient!
"Again, I'm sorry about what happened earlier. Is there was someway I could make it up to you?"

Sidney smiled at Hugo's offer raising his hand and waving while he shook his head.
"No, thank you. That name will suffice, I think. I'll just "google it", or isn't that what you kids say anymore? I swear I keep loosing track of trends by the day." Sidney explained. He was glad this teen was being so polite, but then again, maybe that was given Sidney's status as a professor. It didn't fit well in his mind that this guy's personality was being entirely faked to avoid a possible detention or something like that.
The kid asked if there was anything he coudl to make it up to Sidney, and the man once more shook his head "no".
"Don't worry about it. You were distracted and so was I. Nobody got really injured, I think. Just pay more attention the next time, ok?" Sideny replied. He smiled at then kid again...until he heard a scream.
Instinctively, Sindey ran towards the loaction of the scream. On the ground, a man was holding on to what Sidney hoped was his wife, whose blond hair was partially burned. The man was soaking wet, possibly from trying to put out the fires with whatever water scourge hr could find. But from this scene what shocked Sidney the most was the other side of that little incident.
A mischievious looking, small imp-like purple thing with a red scarf thing was looking at the two lovers, a smile on it's face. It turned to Sidney, paralizing the man with shock. A small fire erupted from one of hs fingers and was thrown at the professor, missing by inches.

Everything seemed to be just fine it seemed. This guy, Sidney apparently had no problem with leaving the skateboard incident alone. Bygones, Hugo assumed. He should have told Sidney that looking online would be futile, but he'd probably find out himself.
"Hey, thanks look-" Hugo stopped talking as a scream echoed from nearby. It was obvious that Sidney had heard it too as he bolted off. This guy was gone. Hugo decided to follow the man because the source of the scream sounded as if it was in peril. "Hey, hold on, Sidney!"
Hugo stopped after catching up to Sidney to find a couple on the ground. It didn't look to good. Things had obviously heated up around here. Hugo looked up at Sidney to find him staring at...something. It was short sure, but it had a gaze that even put the professor in shock.
"So, man. What is that thing?" Hugo pointed towards the creature. He didn't know what it was, but as soon as it created a fireball as if it was holding a lighter, he was sure it was trouble. He threw his fist into the air as he spoke to the monster. "Yo man, you better stop and get out of here! If you keep burning stuff, you're gonna be in big trouble, bruh!"
A bluff obviously. He was so dead. So very dead...

"I have...no idea." Sidney replied to Hugo's question on the demon thing ahead of them, yet that "thing" began to laugh madly at the boy's comment about it being in trouble for burning stuff.
"You idiots don't even know how to recognise a digimon when you see one. I'm Impmon, and I'll rule you all!" The "digimon" yelled at them, before it unleashed another mad laughter. "Now kneel before me! Badaa Boom!"
The imp released another fireball and throwed it at Hugo, still laughing. The couple of lovers was still on ground shaking in fear. The so called "impmon" turned towards them angry.
"What are YOU looking at, huh? On your knees! Badaa Boom!" The impmon shouted, yet another small fireball flying from his fingertips, missing the couple by inches. Still filled with fear, they got on their knees, shaking nonetheless, giving the impmon more laughing. Whatever this thing was, it clearly liked to see people hurt and humiliated. "Good. From now on, I want you to call me "Great Impmon", got it? GOT IT?"
Sidney wasn't paying attention anymore. He had completly frozen, memories flooding through him about what might have been the greatest mistake of his life, one which seemed to haunt him in his dreams and now that he was getting better, out of them as well. The memory of the Portuguese teenager he met and convinced to come to Japan, the willingness with which his firens simply agreed to anything he was told...the way the boy git turned into that colorful egg.
It haunted Sidney, to the point of him failing to notice the burning tip of his jacket. |

In a moment of fear, Hugo narrowly sidestepped the fireball that the Impmon had thrown at him. He repeatedly patted his jacket down, hopefully putting out any flames that may have started on it. Hugo panted as he looked at Impmon, overcome with confidence as well as bootshaking fear.
"I'm not calling you great anything, dude!" Hugo yelled, pointing. "And I don't care if you're a digiwhat or a Stingymuk. You're not the boss of me, man!" Hugo took a deep breath, trying to regain the focus he'd lost after successfully avoiding getting burned. "You'll find we are so weak, isn't that right Sidney?"
Sidney was quiet and obviously lost in thought. Hugo couldn't tell what the guy was thinking, but it was probably important. Maybe he needed to pick up his dry cleaning? Or maybe he needed to pick up a pre ordered game? Who knows, but things needed to be dealt with right now.
"Um...Sidney?" Hugo asked as he waved his hand in front of him. He looked at Impmon who was enjoying himself and back at Sidney. "Snap out of it, dude."

Sidney kept staring blankly into the void, the situation being something away from his reality. However the same didn't happen with the impmon, who got really mad at Hugo's words.
"What?! You dare defy me? I'll get you for that!" The Imp told the boy before hurling a fire ball at him. Hugo then said something about being weak, which made the impmon laugh histerically at him. "Hah, you're so funny! Get your knees! No, wait! Come here, rebel, kiss my feet! That's an order!"
"You should not be picking on children like that. Have you no honor?" A lion-like figure with a deep voice said from not too far away. The impmon turned, stunned.
"Hey, you weren't supposed to have followed me here!" The impmon shouted. "Ultimate Evolution! Icedevimon!"
Before the gathering crowd's very eyes, the impmon digivolved into this white devil, which was likely two times Sidney's size. The lion thing also began glowing and turned white.
"Fist of the Beast King!" the digimon yelled, throwing a blue lion head-shaped aura at the devil, hitting it on the chest. The icy demon yelled as he got hit, finnaly snapping Sidney from his memories. The man, seeing the scene in front of him turned to Hugo.
"Sorry, I'm too tired to keep my focus under certain circumstances. What did I miss? Who are this two and what happened to that purple imp we saw before?" The professor inquired. |

Things were starting to heat up around Hugo it seemed. The small imp had thrown a fireball at him, and even though he had narrowly evaded the attack, he'd also mocked it. And now things were getting serious. This things had now somehow morphed into something shockingly terrifying. This frost white devil was now here and Hugo was starting to think that maybe he shouldn't be.
Before the evolution though, a bold voice emerged to nowhere. And as time passed a beastly figure made his appearance, throwing what seemed like a shot of aura in the shape of a lion's face at the devil. Good. A distraction. Maybe now he could shake Sidney loose and get out of here.
"Sorry, I'm too tired to keep my focus under certain circumstances. What did I miss? Who are this two and what happened to that purple imp we saw before?"
"Oh you know, he said he had to pick his kids up from school and everything and that this big white demon thing could take his place." Hugo sighed as he shook his head slightly. This wasn't the time for this. "I don't think this lion guy is here to kill us though."
These two had started a fight of their own, and it was obvious they probably had a prior confrontation. The impact of the beast's attack had seemed to do some damage, but the frost demon was getting an attack of his own ready.
"Frost Claw!" His claw shown a bright white as it moved through the air, seemingly ripping it as it did.
