And then there where dragons [open/questing]

Right when the chick insulted Ankh as a "stupid bird brain", the veins of anger appeared beneath his mask. Seriously, calling someone a "bird brain"? It 's offending to the very least. COnsidering he had unintentionally insulted them too, and he was a bird Digimon.
"Who are you calling bird brain, ditz girl?! I'm warning you to be careful and you insult me for that?! Come on!" Ankh snapped.
And then he saw Whisker went on riding Beverly again. Looks like that lion kid needed some convincing. If he didn't understand what Beverly and Garm said, he had to say it himself. "Hey, lion brat! She told you she's not steed! She's not even a dragon to begin with!" Ankh shouted. The last time he met Beverly, she had been a witch, and demon. So, the BlackImperialdramon was only her side form, it seemed.
Ankh then rolled his eyes to AJ and patch that they grown stronger. So they had some strength to survive in this cruel Digital World after all. He meant, he could be the threat she would worry if he wanted to. But of course, it was least of his concern, as he was concerned towards his settlement against a person.
Ryoko Satsuma.
"But I think you won't be close as strong as my rival. She's way stronger than you are." Ankh warned. "That boobhead and space lizard... They're very strong that they managed to defeat me once..."

”He’s not that stupid, just a little too….ambitious.” Takara was fairly unwilling to call anything she had to stay with stupid. The damn device wasn’t too keen on letting them separate, and so she had to at the very least make some kind of attempt to defend the fairly daft actions of her pet. He was just pathetically energetic about a lot of fairly stupid things, and seemed to greatly over-estimate pretty much every one of his fundamental abilities. And of course he’d heard everything.
”Dense, I’ll show you dense missus dragon. Why I am General Whisker, the soon to be master of dragons. Heh, I’ll show you eventually, once the lady would be so kind as to PUT ME DOWN.” Now he was getting agitated. Whisker much preferred to be on his feet, not hindered by anything, and prevented from having certain motions. He was the finest general in the digital world, and it simply would not do for him to be carried around like this. Takara however, was still not budging, and so his legs flailed around a little bit hopelessly, padding across air pointlessly. Takara still didn’t trust him not to make another beeline straight for the dragon, and try to climb onto it. Which was a good idea, because that’s exactly what he’d do!
”Yeah, it’s kinda pretty dangerous I guess, how long have you been here?” Takara asked AJ. Having only been in this world for a shorter duration, she was a little concerned she might end up being here quite a while. People would notice.
And then there was the bird brain.
”Yeah? Well maybe you shouldn’t be so rude about it!” The giant bird was agitating her, it was just so stupid.

The BlackImperialdramon turned her head to the side and chuckled a bit. Partially because Ankh and Takara's bickering, partially because of Whisker's insistence. In any case, Ankh had called her out on the fact that she was not originally a dragon.
"Well, General Whisker, such enthusiasm can be good, if handled properly. The last dragon I met around here, though... he tried to kill me. I admit, I had a friend with me, not Garm here but someone else, to help me, shall we say... slay the dragon. It is this data that grants me the form you are seeing right now.
Now that Ankh had spoiled the mysticism of my identity, though..."
Beverly's body seemed to turn into purple smoke, settling down and quickly clearing up. From the smoke walked out a humanoid digimon, whom was still clearly part dragon, but smaller.
"I am Lady Beverly, owner of Caritas in Whitewater..." From her sleeve she pulled out two business cards, providing information on her Whitewater City night club, and handing it to AJ and... well... Takara was busy holding Whisker so she stuck it in the Spadamon's helmet gently. "...take no offense, your partner has her hands full, heh heh. Anyway, not to brag... mostly, but I am stronger than most digimon out there. You've got a long way to go before you can even reasonably consider going up against me and, by extension, Ghost and Garm.
Oh, and before I forget... hey, Ankh, since when did you have beef with Ryoko? Not gonna kill her, are ya? I kinda had a gig for her. It's a musician thing."

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. "But I think you won't be close as strong as my rival. She's way stronger than you are."
The teen frowned at his comment, but she quirked an eyebrow when he mentioned a "boobhead and space lizard." Then Beverly confirmed her questions of the identity of Ankh's rival. AJ cracked a smile. "Of course Ryoko and Ryusei are way stronger than us. And I"m sure they are definitely way stronger than you," she said.
She turned back to the other teen when asked how lon she had been here. AJ gave a dismissive shrug. It wasn't really a question of "how long" more rather "how often." "Well, we've been here a few times. The longest time was for several days, but back in the human world it was just a few hours. How about you?"

That annoying chick lashed out on him again, calling him rude. Well, rude was understatement. However, he didn't take it well when someone insulted him. He could be threat if he wanted to, but he didn't want to hurt the girl just yet. Again, being nice was out of his capacity.
"So, ditzy girl, would you like to stop lashing out at me and behave like a good girl? Princess?" Ankh asked Takara to stop arguing, with sarcastic remark.
Beverly then digivolved into her true form, a demon-like Digimon. She then introduced herself as the owner of Caritas. Looks like he had heard the name somewhere... And then she asked him how did he know his rivals. "We met at the plains for the first time. That space lizard beat me into it. We then had a fight but then he managed to defeat me while I just got my Ultimate form. You know, it was before I get to know about this Vexus." Ankh answered Beverly's question. "No, I don't wanna kill her. I just wanna defeat her space lizard, that's all. That's why I need power to defeat them... And take the space lizard's power as my own. To change the world in better way..."
Ankh then clenched his fist, and then looked at the sky. He then took one of the feathers in his wings, and wrote something on it. He then flapped his wings to blow the feather letter away, letting the wind carry its message.

Perhaps it was not safer to let Whisker loose, the dragon having vanished hopefully being enough to prevent the digimon from decided to make any other instinctual moves of attack. Takara released her grip on the small digimon, and he toppled down a couple of feet to the ground, bouncing off it rather quickly, new card in hand. He certainly still had some energy in him, and his ambitions hadn’t been hampered by the rather undignified way in which he had been handled for the last while. However, now he was aware that his comrade was under a verbal barrage from the birdy thingymajig. And given that he was somehow connected to Takara, it was natural for him to have to protect her. She was all squishy and stuff, and still not wearing chainmail.
”I’ll have you know that’s she’s certainly not a princess! She’s a lady, and a fine one at that.” Ha, that was him put straight. No-one got away with referring to Takara as a princess, she wasn’t royalty at all.
Takara didn’t bother with that feud any longer. If Whisker was willing to pick up the disagreement, she’s let him, but honestly the giant bird brain was just so infuriating she didn’t want to even look at it anymore. And there where more informative people to be talking to anyway, both Beverly and AJ hadn’t managed to upset her just yet.
”I’ve been here for a like a day or so. I kinda got tricked onto some train, and it just literally kicked me off in the middle of the desert.”

Take in Ryusei's power...
"Hm... I see..."
That was her only reply to Ankh's feud. This was concerning, to say the least. Ryoko was talent she wanted for her club, and Ryusei was... something of an ally of hers. And if Ryusei goes, Ryoko is affected. The feud can go on for all she cared, but she would allow neither Space Lizard or Rude Bird meet their ends. Garm had noted her concern, but remained silent, both seeing Ankh send his challenge out to the wind. How it will reach them, who knows.
"Anyway, Ghost also told me about Blitz and Joey, two others we were already acquainted with. Still, I kind of didn't expect Joey to do what he did, especially for the reasoning he gave Ghost.
That boy is such a strange fellow.
Anyways, you three should stop bickering. It's getting you nowhere.
Now, unless you four need anything, me and my mate here will get back to our business." Beverly had rubbed Garm's head. Despite the slight glance up, his expression did not change. But his tail was, indeed, wagging with enjoyment.

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. Avery frowned when she Ankh roll his eyes, but ignored him nonetheless. They had definitely gotten stronger and were getting stronger by the day. but this wasn't the only point of their friendship. They were a team. And that was what mattered.
The Italian tamer smiled slightly when Takara let her partner down. He was definitely quite the lively little guy, and tenacious too.
”I’ve been here for a like a day or so. I kinda got tricked onto some train, and it just literally kicked me off in the middle of the desert.”
"Right, the train. You mean Shibuya? Yeah, that's how we usually arrive here. You can reach it by going back to Terminus, but it's strange how it just kicked you off here," she said, lips pursing thoughtfully.
Her gray-blue orbs danced over to Beverly who announced she would be leaving unless they needed her anymore. AJ just shrugged and waved. "Well see ya."

So this was it. Looks like Beverly was about to leave, and so about Ankh. He couldn't stand with that idiot girl to bicker with him anymore. And there's her annoying Spadamon. Both of them just made his day perfect, in sarcastic sense. Besides, he had something to take care with.
"I don't care any fuck you say, but I need to calm down a bit, so you better not interfere." Ankh said to that annoying brat.
And then the girl started chatting to that annoying girl. He couldn't do anything, but at least he could enjoy the last popsicle. He ate the orange flavor and threw away the package and the sticks into the cliff after he ate it whole. He then noticed that AJ knew Ryoko and Ryusei, and he told her,
"So, if you know them, send my regards to them. I'm gonna have the fight with them soon. A fight until the last mon stands." Ankh said.

Communications seemed to be ending around about now, Beverly expressing an intent to go off and leave the current group, hopefully the bird brain following suit. He was just so rude, and Takara was quite happy that Whisker had decided to take up the verbal barrage for her, even if he was sort of insulting her a little in the process. She could be a princess if she really wanted to. She’d just need to seduce some royalty or something. That was how it worked, wasn’t it? Meh, not important.
”Apologise immediately! You shall not call the lady a brat and get away with it!”
Whisker drew his sword, pointing the blade at the significantly larger digimon, completely fearless/oblivious to the fact that this quite easily could be his last action. God he was stupid, and Takara watched a little bit concerned by the whole thing. Surely he wasn’t this stupid.
”I would reconsider your stance if I was you little one.” Takara and Whiskers heads spun in unison to see the new arrivial, a six foot tall humanoid digimon, all dressed in red, with various cuffs on fire.
”You see, your actions, while admittedly honourable, are also rather unfortunately also quite foolish. You would be evaporated in an instant if your foe so chose, and I doubt very much that your tamer would appreciate that.” The digimon finished talking at this point, Whiskers sword hand growing tied and lowering the blade. His brain was still running at a million miles an hour, but now it was concentrating on something completely different. Wizards!

More bickering. Well, they would be leaving, all things considered. No one needed Bev, and she took a knee, shining brightly as she devolved to her BlackImperialdramon form. At this time, though, a newcomer had came, a FlaWizardmon.
"Where were you when he wanted to tame me?" Beverly jokingly said as Garm took a large leap onto her back. Once mounted, she walked away a bit from them before unfurling her wings, flapping and taking off.
"I speak for me and Garm when I say it's been fairly fun. Well, Garm's not much of a talker anyway. So... maybe I'll see you guys in the future... as patrons to my lovely night club. Garm here makes an excellent DJ too. Anyway, see you guys later!"
And she took off with Garm. Maybe they should go to a fancy restaurant... or maybe to the human world...

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. Avery could sense that this little gathering was slowly wrapping it up. While she did enjoy meeting people, especially more since she had become a tamer, she supposed it was getting close to time for them to return.
Whisker continued his banter and this brought a smile to her face. He reminded her a lot of Patch, who she knew would take on some one ten times bigger just to defend her. That seemed to be the role of a Digimon partner. Maybe it wasn't always just about fighting, but also just about the verbal aspect of defense.
"So, if you know them, send my regards to them. I'm gonna have the fight with them soon. A fight until the last mon stands."
When she turned away from Takara, her eyes narrowed, dark brows furrowing. While she did not look menacing at all, Patch could sense the teen's anger and growled deeply in his chest. "Yeah right. They'll totally take you down. I've seen them fight plenty of times."
She twisted away from Ankh, no longer caring if he disappeared like Beverly did. Now she was more focused on the FlaWizardmon who had just appeared on the scene.

Looks like the annoying girl stopped arguing with him. However, there was her partner, that knight-like cub berated him in place of his tamer. Sure he didn't get Ankh's sarcasm, but what he said still annoyed him. Calling that annoying loud chick a lady? Don't joke!
So, he scoffed at them, deciding to ignore them for the time being. They were both annoying to the very least. They were weaker than him, and a strong one like Ankh had no time to waste with those weakling. Bah, they were just bugs to be squatted, a prey for bird like him. He could trample them if he wanted, but he chose to spare them, for now.
That foreign chick then commented on how that boobie buffoon could defeat him. He scoffed at her and said back, "Hmph. Let's see. I've set Everfalls as the arena. So, if you wanna witness how it'll go there, be my guest. I won't lose to them, of course. One shall stand, one shall fall."
Ankh then spread his wings before jumping to the sky, and flew away from them, through the canyon...

Whisker was close to drooling.
”You’re a wizard!” He mouthed. Oh, it was sort of perfect. A wizard would make a fine addition to his guild, a being of a certain magical prowess. Summoning fireballs, moving objects with the flick of a staff, summoning dinner, all that awesome magical goodness which came with the ability wave your arms around correctly, and make up a couple of special words.
”Yes, and if you would be so kind as not to drool on my shoes, that would be much preferred. I would much rather not have to clean them.”
”But a wizard.” He shook his head for a second, composing himself temporarily. This would require finesse. Finesse he would suddenly produce!
”I bid you good day fine wizard. It is I, General Whisker, captain of the guild, hunter of treasures, deifier of dangers, second only to the lady in rank who greets you, who offers you this once in a lifetime chance to join arms. What our guild lacks in numbers, we make up for in heart, in determination, and in sheer persistence. So, waddya say?” A fine speech if he did say so himself, one of his finer. He should write it down at some point, so he could bring it back up again as many times as was possible.
”I must decline general, while your actions are admirable, you offer nothing I seek, nothing I require. I merely did not wish to see you incinerated by the now evaded threats to your wellbeing. It would not do for you to meet such an unfortunate end.”
Whisker’s brain ran frantic, trying to figure out the best way to fix this situation. Wait, Takara’s device did that thing, didn’t it, the thing which stopped him walking off. Ha, he’d just do that again, all he needed way the device.
”Hey! Stop!” Within a second the digimon was within Takara’s pocket, upsetting the girl considerably as she reached round to hit him. The really was so embarrassing. She looked to AJ, somehow trying to paint an expression which might excuse the behaviour, but came up blank. As her palm reached round completely to give the Spadamon a good slap, he fired backwards, digivice in hand, waving it dangerously towards the FlaWizarmon.
”Hyaaaaaaaaaa.” He yelled, throwing the device at the other digimon.
And predictably, it just fell to the ground, doing nothing.

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. When Ankh cleared out, Avery felt she could breathe a little easier. Sure, there wasn't really any danger in the situation, but it bothered her what he had said about Ryoko and Ryusei...but they were strong. Ryusei was at the highest level she had seen before, so hopefully everything would be okay.
She turned her attention from her thoughts back to the FlaWIzardmon who had joined them. She listened silently at the conversation between Spadamon and the fire wizard. It seemed Whiskers wanted them to join their team, but he politely declined.
AJ binked as the Spadamon dug in Takara's pocket and threw a device to the ground. The Italian teen's eyes narrowed and saw that it was indeed what she susepcted. It was a Digivice, however it was different from her own model.
When the other girl gave her a strange expression, she could tell that she was less than happy with her partner's actions. Her eyes flicked back to Whiskers, to FlaWizardmon, and then to the Digivice.
