Nightspellmon was excited to see his attack being successfull. Oh, how he missed his days of slaying countless corrupt digimon such as this Devidramon. The hit, however, wasn't all that enjoyed by the ghost. However, it had learned to accept that sometimes one must take some hits to achieve victory. Many hits, most of the times.
Getting back by the dragon's claws, Nightspellmon was still able to get up in time to see the end of it's dissolution into raw data. Raising his arms, Nightspellmo began to pull the data towards himself, absorbing it.
"This may turn out to be useful to my creator someday." The ghostly digimon commented. "Aaaaah, freedoom. How we enjoy it, yet it brings you pain in it's inevitable ending...Well, Charles, you kept your word and I'll keep mine. Just don't expect this turn out fine: your society can never accept you now. I'll prove it. Have fun trying to explain."
With this words, Nightspellmon reverted to Charles again. The boy fell on his knees, his red cape still being worn as if he still was Nightspellmon. He stood and turned to the other guy.
"We should get out of here, I promise I'll explain. Just help me up, will you?" Charles asked, concerned on his would actually turn out. He was starting to se Nightspellmon ina new light in last few days: a posinkt mire than a mad lier.
Stopping in place after a quick dash towards the man, Hugo found himself in front of him, though a good distance away just to be safe. Though the fight had ended and the fog had cleared, the demonic man had still not finished. Hugo could hear him speaking though not clearly as he attracted what looked like coding from the dragon into himself. What was happening now?
And then as if things couldn't get any weirder, the kid from earlier reappeared. With the kid on the ground, Hugo questioned whether he should do anything. This kid was obviously bad news, but he did help him out so maybe he wasn't all evil. As the kid rose to his feet, Hugo nervously took a couple steps back.
"Dude...dude, what the h-heck are you, man?" This kid had destroyed the devil dragon from earlier and continued to destroy it after it was dead. Hugo could be stupid sometimes, but he wasn't brain dead. "Am I gonna have to call someone?"
"We should get out of here, I promise I'll explain. Just help me up, will you?"
Hugo stared at the kid in silence trying to weigh on his next action. Maybe he should extend a hand, this was just a kid after all. And he did say he'd explain. And it wasn't the kid who was vicious, it was that other guy. But that kid was that other guy. He needed to say something. He moved closer and extended his hand.
"You owe me an explanation. This whole thing is weird." Hugo examined the school around him and the damage that had been done. "I think school's gonna be done for the day, do you have a place to go?"
At first, Charles wasn't sure how the other guy would respond. Given the boy had just asked him WHAT he was. Not "who", but "WHAT". Not to mention he also asked if he should call anyone.
This caused Charles to look down, seeing his own hands trembling at the memory of something that happened not to long ago.He lost control to Chaoskimeramon, turned wild, a policeman tried to step in and Charles...Charles murdered him. It was bad enough to have runaway from home and having stolen clothes, but now his spirits had made him a murderer too, and not just towards digimon!
Yet the boy offer him a hand, and Charles grabbed it to finish standing up. He then looked at the boy as if examining him. This was clearly a stundent, he was wearing the school uniform.
"I'm just as human as you, hum...what is your name again?" Charles told the boy "Anyway, we'd better not call anyone. The less people know about this things, the better. As for a safe place, I can't think of any just now. Can you?"
Hugo tried to keep his eyes centered at the boys face and to not look down. Sure he was wearing some sort of cloak, but if Hugo learned anything from watching TV, people who transform back into human form usually lacked clothing to some amount. As he rose from the ground, Hugo noticed his face fall, almost as if he was lost in thought.
"I'm just as human as you, hum...what is your name again?" Hugo studied the kid as he spoke. "Anyway, we'd better not call anyone. The less people know about this things, the better. As for a safe place, I can't think of any just now. Can you?"
"My name's Hugo..." He said cautiously. He was trying to do the good thing and help, but giving him more information about himself might come back and bite him in the butt later. And trying to keep his head up against his own human curiosity was starting to become tiring as well. "Are you sure we shouldn't call for help? Like from the government or something? They might know how to help."
Hugo sighed again and wiped his face with his hands. What was going to happen now? News spreads quickly in this day and age and staying here would be a bad idea. His eyes slowly slipped down and he chuckled as he realized the kid was clothed. Oh how this would make talking to him easier.
"I guess I could take you to my place...but my mom might have some serious questions." Hugo said as a few other students were beginning to peak their heads from the aftermath. "I could say school was let out early of something. I guess."
"Nice to meet you then, Hugo. I'm Charles." Charles replied yo Hugo's presentation, offering his hand to shake. "And, apart from a certain organisation, the only thing you'd get by calling the goverment would be one less government running around. Trust me when I say this, this things are beyond the control of normal people."
Looking around, people were starting to rise. Charles covered his face with the claim, trying not to be recognised. Afterall, he used to frequent that very school before his first trip to the digital world. Thinking of that day and all it made him and so many others lose still hurt, and a lot. Charles looked at Hugo as the boy offered to go to his place. The spirit wielder considered the situation. He needed rest, he was in his final days on the human world afterall, yet he might hurt the boy if he lost control again. But what would he do if he refused?
"Ok, let's go to your place, I agree that staying here. Tell your mom there was a focused earthquake or something, those things tend to happen here in Japan, right?" Charles said, nodding. "I'll explain as much as I can as soon as were in somewhere with some privacy, people are not supposed to know about digimon. It's dangerous to be involved in this. For now, I'll leave you with a sfaety rule: I must never, EVER loose this cloak. If I do something terrible may happen. No questions, yet,I'll explain it with the rest."
The young man introduced himself as Charles. It was a name so normal for what he was capable of. It sounded trustworthy despite what came with the person wielding it. He was polite as he introduced himself. He definitely had some manners of his own.
The thought that maybe this boy didn't need his his help popped into Hugo's mind. If he didn't need it, whatever, but don't say that help was never offered to you. Still, the kid was pretty nice so offering to make a call seemed right, but the kid denied again.
But when he offered him a chance to stay at his home and not this school, Charles accepted. And as soon as he did, he offered him some explanations he could give to his mom. A concentrated earthquake sounded believable, and if the government officials who would be handling this situation were smart, they bull this excuse to explain the destruction of the school.
"Sounds good enough to me, I guess." Hugo said. Hugo's eyes wandered to Charles's cloak. Would losing that really be hazardous. Digimon obviously would, but this cloak could probably be bought on the internet. "Okay, yeah, that cloak is as good as safe. And was thing. That dragon. Was that a 'Digimon' then."
No one is supposed to know about digimon, Hugo thought. Whatever they were, they had more power than he did or could ever have by himself. They had strength. But thinking about that here for much longer probably wasn't the best idea.
"So, what do you say we get going, then? My place isn't too far."
Charles wondered once more about what boy was thinking. Charles feared that his denial of calling anyone would trigger a response of suspicion from the boy, but it didn't. Or at least it didn't seem to as the boy spoke up, stating Charles's cloak was as good as safe. Maybe curiosity had the upper hand here?
"Thank you. When I explain it to you, you will understand the importance of this better. For now, however, I can't yet. But despite being an evil, destructive digimon, saying that that dragon, that Devidramon was an ant compared to some of the things I saw, that felt..." Charles grabbed his chest as he said this, recalling the pain he felt as Chaoskimeramon tried to take over "...would be overstating the Devidramon. But I agree, we should get going."
And with this words, Charles shut. He wasted enough time, he needed to go to the digital world. He needed to rest before that, and so he would need to Hugo to bring him to his place quickly. Charles wouldn't say another word till they got there. Maybe the bpy's curiosity would get them there faster. Charles hoped that Hugo's mom would believe their excuse...
(OOC: Sorry about the short post. Also, please jump the way to Hugo's, as Charles really won't say anything on the way there.)
It wasn't long but the two eventually made it back to Hugo's place. It wasn't too far from the school but it was far enough that Hugo was given time to think on way home. With Charles quiet, Hugo pondered about what Charles might explain to him later. Before they left the school, sometimes seemed to have been eating him.
Now at home, Hugo pulled out a key and turned opened the doorknob. He pushed it open and went inside. After a short amount of time he went back outside to Charles. He then showed him that it was okay to come inside.
"My mom said it was okay for you to come in." Hugo showed the young man into the house and to his room. Inside his walls were filled with posters as well as the other expected items from a teenager's room. A few minutes later, Hugo's mother brought some food and a glass of water in for the two. And then she left with a short goodbye. "My mom likes to give food to guests. You don't have to eat it if you don't want to. Just don't let her know, she might get hurt."
By now, the school premises was probably being investigated by officials. Who knows how long it would be before they'd feel content with their search, but Charles was welcome to stay for a few hours if he needed to. As interesting as he was, Hugo didn't know enough about him to let him stay longer.
At first, Charles wasn`t sure if his excuse would have worked in Hugo`s mom and he was worried that at any moment she could just come out with a broom and push him away or something. Charles, was proven wrong, however, when Hugo came out telling him to come in. Hugo`s mom was even nice enough to give him food, despite having no clue who he was. Charles could do nothing but nod in thanking. If any of them knew what was inside him, truly, it would be food they be giving him, but some kind of fatal wound.
"Oh, no. You don`t mind if I take some with me, do you? I`m gonna go on a long journey, and I could some supplies beyond...well, best if you don´t know that. Trust me when I tell you it isn`t relevant for you or annyone beyond me." Charles said, packing some of the food in his pockets. And now, for the tough part "I guess, I own you na explanation, don`t I? Where to even begin? Maybe about myself and that Devidramon. Well...the devidramon was something called a digimon. They`re creatures from a different world. I don`t mean it`s like from space or something like that, it`s from a dimension created by humanitie`s use of technology or something. That part I haven`t quite grasped myself yet. anyway, at the light of this, three ways of human beings to relate to digimon were created. The first, tamers, are a single human with a single digimon partner. The human uses his emotions to make energy that the digimon utilizes to digivolvem a process in which a digimon changes shape and becomes stronger. That Devidramon was at champion stage, the fourth stage of evolution, even though he did without a human parter. Then, we have spirit wielders, such as myself,. We`re humans that wield the spirit totems of digimon to turn into digimon ourselves, Finnaly, we have xros generals, a single human with multiple digimon partners that can be combined into a stronger one. Any questions so far? Tell me if I`m going to fast."
