A Garudamon X flew in the ske of Everfalls, looking around for his opponent he invited. There were no signs of them anywhere, but he still expected them to come. Those opponents were not the type of cowards, he knew them well. His rivals, and and opponent he must defeat in his quest of ultimate power. He had waited this day to come.
"They'll come soon..." Ankh muttered as he landed on an island, largest one at that.
Ankh took out a banana-flavored popsicle and ate it whole, before leaving the wooden stick and threw ti at the water. Even at time like this he still littered. Eww. While waiting for his sworn rivals to come, he still had a time. To show his true strength, and to settle their rivalry, probably for once and for all.

Ryusei, in his MagnetGreymon form carried Ryoko on his protective hood and her bike in his hands while flying straight to Everfalls. They had a challenge to be accomplished from someone they considered a rival. Not really powerful one, but still, his desire to seek the power was strong. He wanted to be stronger than everyone else, but why?
Ryoko wore her usual attire consisted of blue-and-orange sports bra (which exposed her six-packed abs) under black leather jacket, dark blue jeans, black leather sneakers, and black fingerless leather gloves. The wind blew her hair as MagnetGreymon flew to the destination. Soon, Ryusei landed on an island not far from where Ankh was. It was time to greet that power-hungry bird with attitude. So, here they were.
"Alrite. So where is dat guy?" Ryoko asked.
Ryusei sensed his presence. At the larger island, where the one who sent him the invitation of the challenge. Their rival.
"Yo, Ankh! I know y're thar!" Ryusei greeted the birdman.

Ankh took another popsicle, this time with grape flavor. He ate the edible part of popsicle whole and tossed away the remainings. The Garudamon X was about to doze off, but then he sensed something. His supposed opponent, had come. So they finally heeded his invitation after all. What a coincidence.
The birdman then turned to the MagnetGreymon and his tamer. He let out a devious smirk, glad that the moment he had waited for a while had come. Now to give them good greetings of them, after they greeted him first.
"I've been expecting you, Ryoko and Ryusei Satsuma." Ankh replied to Ryusei's greetings. "So, you know why I invited you, right?"
Ankh already knew they would answer the reason of his invitation, more than just a fight. It was a fight of belief, fight for power, and most importantly, fight of life and death. He wanted to take Ryusei's power as his own, but he needed some time before he do so. He saw Ryusei as potential powerful foe for his strength, and the interest of power.
"You see, I've been waiting for this moment! To see your true power! To see your potential limit! To see what your strength hold, and what you see about strength! Don't you think so?" Ankh asked the duo.

Just after Ankh greeted the duo, he asked them what the purpose of invitation. They of course, figured that the birdman wanted to settle some scores with him. It was obvious, since they just set their rivalry months ago, and they need to explore each others' powers. To test their limits. Although, they need to understand each other's point of views as well, as they differ about how to get stronger and their view about power as well.
"So I 'gez, ya wanna have sum spar with me?" Ryoko guessed. "It's been a while since we dun spar. So, let's-"
"I think we're here not juz for sparrin', Onee-chan." Ryusei interrupted.
"Huh?"
"From his looks, he's DEAD serious to fite us."
After hearing Ryusei's guess, Ryoko looked at Ankh again. Yeah, from his looks, he was indeed dead serious to defeat them. Who knows if he was after Ryusei's data? And this was further reinforced by his confession of eagerness to fight Ryusei. And then he asked them if they agreed on it, about what they hold with their power and their point of view of it.
"Well, y'know, I see power as means to protect wut's important to us. Like famz, friends, place where we belong, 'n da world. I know ya disagree with me, but at least I can put da power into good use, rite?" Ryoko answered Ankh's question.

That naive buffed-up boobhead, she still thought his invitation as a mere sparring invitation. No, he wanted more than that. A fight hat puts life on stake, to prove their worth and striving to be the best. He wanted their power, even if he had to delete that space dino. Such naiveté was detriment to his ears, eyes, and head.
And it added to his pain, words from that redheaded fool about her view of power. She thought it was means to protect. How naive. Power is only good to rule, influence, and destroy. So, protecting is not in his dictionary, especially when everyone were safe, and the power's role was done for.
"Fufufu... Ha-HAHAHAHA!" Ankh let out a mad laughter, amused to her view of power. However, he was a bit... disappointed.
"NAIVE! You think power is only good to protect, huh?! What happen if you use the power to protect, to destroy everyone you protect from, and they're gone, and everyone are safe? The power is done for! You don't have a right to be stronger if you just throw away your strength after you don't need them? Then what are you protecting for, huh?
Power is only good to destroy, rule, and to influence! When you need the power to protect, it means you have to destroy something threatens people you're trying to protect, right? Even if you don't destroy, you can still put them into submission, and to make them do as you say!"
Power was originally meant to destroy and influence. Or it can be used to change things. But what and how it change, it depends totally on the user. Ankh wanted to change the world... to release the world from the very rule of the nature: Strong always rule over the weak. But such rule of nature already binded with the world, and in order to release it, he must bleach it out and dye it with his own image... No, not only his own, but...
With someone he loved as well.

The busty tomboy had to admit, she was the naive girl at that. A power was indeed could be used to destroy and rule, but by protecting those she held dear, she could put the power into good use. Regardless of what she had to protect, what she had to destroy, and what she had to rule, she would use even the greatest power for good of all. So, no one would get oppressed, no one would get hurt, and no one would be in danger. Her naivete was actually, her strength.
"Maybe I'm da naive, stupid chick as ya said. But I can put da power into good use like I said rite? If I've to destroy, I'll destroy evrythin' threatenin' people I protect. N if I've to rule, I'll make da world a better place, so people can be happy n cherished on their own." Ryoko responded to Ankh's rant about power.
"N wut I'm protectin' for? To make 'em happy, of curz! I know y've dark 'n troubled past, but I know ya can use da power for greater good! Dun just give into da cynic POV of yo's, n be open to sum hope! Y'know dat we can still save da world from such cruel law of nature, rite?"
Ryusei could only watch his "Onee-chan" ranting about her point of view about power. She had more noble, virtuous approach of how a power should be used. Maybe Cosmic Empress was against it, just like Ankh. But she knew how to deal with their cynicism: to bring her idealism to lighten up, and to protect everyone and everything, and Ankh and Cosmic Empress weren't excluded.
"Honestleh, I'm agree with Onee-chan. She maybe naive, so count me as one as well. Y'know? I dun need to make bad guy do as wut we say n to kill 'em. We juz need to teach 'em a lesson dat power can't be misused." Ryusei added.

Ankh perplexed when he heard Ryoko's answers of his question. But then, he could understand why. She could grasp the meaning of "Destroy" and "Rule". But still, she retained her naive point of view of them. To destroy things threatening people she protected, and to set the rules to make world better living place so they can rule themselves. Naive, at its best. She never knew such things can't be done easily, right?
"I see. So that's how you use the power. But still, you're naive. You do know the law of nature is already becoming one with the very earth itself, right? So, the only way to release it, is to destroy it, and to rebuild the new world on its surface! Why? Because this world is stained by the strong ones who abuse their powers! The weaklings have to seek for power to oppose them or to protect what they hold dear, but some of them lose their compassion, and become the same tyrant they fight against! Those who retains their compassion, won't achieve their true strength!
I'll attain the greater power to make my own law, where nobody gets oppressed, where the strong and the weak can be equals, and to cast aside the differences! Together with Hanahime, We'll create the world where everybody don't have to seek for power, and no one can misuse their power! To protect the weaklings as you said... By putting the strong ones into submission, or to destroy them! And as the old saying says, "Death is not punishment, but rather a release". Do you think so? Especially with the stuffs you've experienced?" Ankh said.
Yeah. He wanted to take Ayaka to be his partner of creating the new world. To create the ideal world where there weren't Social Darwinists anymore. To put aside the obligation to seek for power, so people can live happily... by destroying the old world and creating the new one.
"Enough talk! I'll bleach out this rotten world and dye it in our image!" Ankh snapped as the flames emanated from his wings, before he flapped them hard to propel a flaming bird-shaped projectile, flying to Ryusei.
"SHADOW WING!" Ankh shouted as he fired the flaming bird bullet.

(Cue BGM: Sengoku Ransei)So that's how Ankh see about power. He wanted a power to reshape the world, it seems. All those speeches made Ryoko sick, but at same time, saddened. She knew how much Ankh despised the strong, and how much he hate the rule of Social Darwinism. If only those Darwinists didn't take Charles Darwin's theory into social level, those kinds of oppression and such wouldn't happen. Survival to the fittest, right. Everybody can do anything to survive, okay. But to have the power by themselves? That was out of question. "I see yo' point, Ankh. Ya hate da strong people so much, I understand. But dat's no reason to destroy 'tis whole world b'cuz of da most such people roamin' around, rite?! We still have people who care so much of others, helpin' each other, n stay true to their compassion n strength. We're fitin' for 'em. Those 'r da people we hold dear!" Ryoko responded. "Yeah! I know y're bearin' da sorrow 'n anger of 'tis ctrong n weak crap, but in ma honest opinion, y' juz give into despair so dat ya can't see da better way to save da world from 'tis cursed fate without destroyin' it! Think clear, Ankh! I know ya can be stronger, n ya can be da different person than ya hate! N gez wut? Y're becomin' da guys ya hate most! Ironic, rite?"Just after Ryusei finished his speech, he was greeted by a flaming bird projectile, which he evaded. The magnetic cyborg Digimon glared at the birdman, with some determination and conviction. "If dat's wutcha want, then so be it! Magnet Cannon!" Ryusei shouted as he grabbed the joysticks on his chest, controlling the cannons with them and to have them fire beams towards Ankh. Ryoko felt so uneasy about this. Could this fight turn into life and death fight? Who knows...

He had to admit, that beefcake redhead had a point to agree his point of view about the corrupted world ad such. They both shared a goal, to make world a better living place, and to release the world from the rule of sacrifice. However, they differed in methods. She still stayed true to her naive conviction of keeping the worlds safe without destroying it, to erase the rule of strong-weak difference.
And Ryusei evaded his Shadow Wing attack before returning it with beam blasts from the magnet bar-like cannons. What a strange weapons, indeed, but they seemed have more firepower from their looks. Ankh evaded the first blast, but he got hit at the shoulder by the second one. It hurt him a bit, but he could still fly.
"Not bad. But not good enough!" Ankh exclaimed as he summoned a pair of totem pole-like javelins in his hands. He then aimed at Ryusei, finding precise spots.
"Great Spirit!" Ankh shouted as he threw the first javelin at Ryusei. If he managed to evade, the Garudamon X would throw the second one to intercept him.

Ankh got hit, and he threw two javelins at the MagnetGreymon. He managed to evade the first one, and he stopped when the second javelin descended, so it missed him. That was so close, ain't it? Ryusei then kept firing the Magnet Cannons. It looked as if he wanted to hit Ankh, but if the birdman managed to evade the cannons, he could draw him closer. When it comes...
"Giant Foot!" Ryusei exclaimed.
GIANT FOOT, ON.
After an announcement from Ryoko's Digivice, the spectral parts appeared around Ryusei's right leg, before they assembled at its Cross Port, materializing as an oversized boot. Ryusei then lifted his right leg to summon an energized, gigantic version of the boot in front of him. He then stomped, so he could have the energy boot to descend, attempting to stomp on Ankh.
Unbeknownst to Ryoko, a Digimemory with "R" label dropped onto the ground, materializing as Yuuki the Renamon, in her usual school outfit.
"Eh?" Yuuki gawked when she suddenly summoned out of the memory. She then looked at the intense battle between Ryusei and Ankh, and she could see something serious was about to happen. She then went to Ryoko and asked, "Ryo-nee, Would you lend me your D-Terminal?"
"Eh? Wut for?" Ryoko asked back.
"Umm... I 'gez I'm kinda worried about Ryu-nii. Maybe I can call some help in case things get outta hand?"
"Okay then. I'm worried 'bout him too." Ryoko said as she handed the D-Terminal to Yuuki.
"Thanks!"
Yuuki then turned away from the battle and texted the message to Ryoko's friends.
Hey there. It's me, Yuuki the Renamon. I borrowed Ryo-nee's D-Terminal to tell you this big news. Ryu-nii and Ankh-san are fighting each other in Everfalls, and I'm afraid if it's gonna be fighting between life and death. D: See the fight to see how it ends. If the fight is outta hand, please help us.

Meanwhile, back in Whitewater
Jimmy stopped walking as he heard his D-terminal beeping, informing him that he has a message. So he pulled it out and began reading it. His expression not changing much as he did.
"What is it Jimmy?" Shin asked as he looked over at the teen.
"It's Yuuki. She's saying that Ryoko's partner Ryusei and someone called Ankh is fighting. And it seems that it's going to be a fight between life and death." Jimmy informed Shin.
"They can handle themselves, can't they?" Shin asked.
"I don't know. It sounds like Yuuki wants us there in case the fight gets out of hand."
"And your gonna go, aren't you?" Shin said with a sigh, "So where are we heading?"
"I don't know there's no..." Jimmy was then interrupted by the beeping of his D-terminal. He opened the message and looked at what was there. "Nevermind. It looks like she sent coordinates."
"So. Where are they?" Shin asked again, slowly losing his patience. Jimmy then handed him the D-terminal where Shin looked at the coordinates, "Wait... This can't be right? By these coordinates, they would be around the Everfalls."
"The Everfalls?" Jimmy asked curiously as this is the first he's heard of this place.
"An endless waterfall that's say to be edge of the digital world."
"So I'm guessing were going to need a boat or something then."
"No. It would be to dangerous. Our best course of action is flying over there." Shin told Jimmy as he handed the D-terminal back to the teen, "I hope your Bucchiemon form is up to snuff."[/i][/i]

Both Mana and Ayaka were doing their usual stuff in Whitewater; which was usually just seize the absurd time difference between the two worlds to get work done faster and relax, among other things, during their spare time. She had finished her last bit of homework some time ago and now was lying down on the bed of the hostel where she currently was. At least until she recieved a message, seemingly from... Yuuki, but not Yuuki Yuuki; it was Yuuki the Renamon, one of Ryoko's 'mercenenaries'.
Apparently Ryusei and Ankh have finally decided to settle their quarrel, and that couldn't worry the pair more. In Mana's case, because Ryusei was her idol's digimon, and she considered him a good friend. She had some kind of appreciation towards Ankh, and she didn't want for him to get hurt, but her idol's safety was her primary concern on her mind. Ayaka's mind, on the other end of the spectrum, was a lot more troubled than her partner's; while she considered both Ryoko and Ryusei to be extremely important people to Mana, and to her by extension, she was also quite 'fond', for the lack of a better word, of Ankh, due to the help he had given her in that weird shadow dimension. In her mind, the fight could only end in a disaster if the two decided to fight to death, and she was determined to stop that, should worst come to worst.
Penny, on her spot, just contemplated at the pair with a thoughtful expression. She had no idea of what was exactly happening, but it seemed to be quite important.
"The Everfalls... the last time, the travel took us half an hour from Terminus. How fast can you fly, Penny-chan? We need to get there as soon as possible".
The Ryudamon smiled at Mana, opening the window of the room and jumping outside of it. Not a moment after, she had transformed into her Ginryumon form.
"Get on".
And so, the trio began to fly towards an unknown destination in the everfalls. Both Mana and Ayaka just hoped that they'd make it in time to stop the fight.

Ankh saw it coming. That MagnetGreymon shot the cannons at him, which he evaded. He then kept evading the beam barrage while flew closer. However, it turned to be a trap as a holographic giant boot suddenly appeared above him, stomping the birdman.
Not long after Ankh got stomped to the ground, he stood up and went into his fighting stance.
"Crimson Claw...!" Ankh growled as he clenched his fists, igniting them in fire. Ankh then rushed towards the MagnetGreymon with both vigor and anger.
"RYUSEI SATSUMAAAAAA!!!" Ankh roared as he tried to punch Ryusei at his face. If he succeeded, he would continue pummeling him all around with his flaming fist. The first would be at stomach twice, and then at face with hooks before finishing at chin with uppercut.
"Soon I'll attain the greater power to change the world! Right after I defeat you!" Ankh yelled at the magnetic dino when punching him continuously.

(Cue BGM: Ranbu Escalation) Just as planned. Ryusei managed to draw the birdman closer and hit him. However, it was unexpected that Ankh went melee. He sent several fiery punches at Ryusei, which hurt him and leaving charred dusts at the hit spot. Yup, that hurt. Ryoko was observing how the battle went. Ankh looked clearly angered and jealous at Ryusei, as the former was envious that the latter was stronger. Ryusei had achieved his Mega level, while Ankh was still at Ultimate the last time she saw him. No wonder why Ankh looked bitter towards her partner, and herself as well. Plus, his goal of obtaining power was somewhat noble, but his method is... heinous, yet twisted. "Ryusei!" Ryoko called out her partner in slight worry. Ryusei was flung upwards before fell few meters away after getting Ankh's uppercut. Despite getting those blows, Ryusei managed to stand up, albeit tad bit shaky. Ryusei began to breath heavily from the blow, and glared at him. "I won't give up! I'll keep fitin' to snap sum senses on ya! To snap ya outta sadness n despair plaguin' yo mind! AAAAAAAAANKH!!!" Ryusei responded to Ankh's taunt as he dashed towards Ankh with the backpack thrusters and firing Magnet Cannons continuously at Ankh while getting closer. Once he got closer, he would send the birdman some punches to Ankh's face and chest. |

They've all got the same heartbeat,
but her's is falling behind. AJ still wore the frown she had been sporting as they raced through the desert. A beeping alerted her to a message from her D-terminal. Given that they were currently in the Digital World and also the little silver device had a different sound from both her cell and her D3, she knew it was an incoming e-mail.
She pressed her heels into Patch's sides, as he was currently in his Jagerloweemon form, to signal to stop. She brought her backpack around to the front and pulled it out of the little flap at the front of the bag. Flipping open the D-terminal, gray-blue orbs raced over the message.
Hey there. It's me, Yuuki the Renamon. I borrowed Ryo-nee's D-Terminal to tell you this big news. Ryu-nii and Ankh-san are fighting each other in Everfalls, and I'm afraid if it's gonna be fighting between life and death. D: See the fight to see how it ends. If the fight is outta hand, please help us.

AJ sighed. "It looks like we're headed towards Everfalls after all. But I think we're gonna need to change."
She hopped down and replaced her D-terminal with the D3. Holding it out towards Patch, she said, "Dedigivolve." Once he was back in his Mikemon form, she held it out again. "Digi Armor Energize! Crest of Faith!" she called out.
The white light shot out again and enveloped Patch. His skin peeled away to reveal a net of data, but his form twisted and grew taller, six wings sprouting from his back. He now looked more human than ever, however he still seemed ethereal.
Hopping onto Patch's back and bracing herself, the armor-champion angel took off in a burst of speed and flew.
It didn't take long to reach the Everfalls and AJ realized it as her eyes widened, taking in the beautiful rise and fall of the water and the steam coming off the crashing waves as they descended off of rocks and over what appeared a bottomless area.
As they drew closer, she was well aware of the fight by the two darting figures who she could only assume was Ankh, in his Garudomon X form, and Ryusei, who had taken up his MagenetGreymon form.
They landed on one of the larger islands, her eyes narrowed as she took in the battle. If this got out of hand, there was only one thing they could do. They could take it to the next level. But would they really be of any help?
