A Fistful of Bits [Hunt] ("Forever 13") [COMPLETE]

This is not a story for the faint of heart. It’s not for those folks that are weak of stomach or of the faintin’ disposition. This here’s a land for them that’s got ice water in their veins and can work their way ‘round a six shooter. These lands are where you find out what a man’s really made of; a place of honest people and hard work, where the land is soaked in the sweat and blood of the people just trying to get by. Unfortunately, Hideki and Troopmon had none of the above qualifications yet still found themselves in the midst of one of the hottest days in the digital year, in one of the hottest places in the whole digital world, the File Desert. Our two protagonists found themselves lost in the vast expanse of these badlands, canteen dry as the Dust Bowl. The whirling sands whipped at the pair, course winds tearing wherever it could find exposed flesh. The two wore goggles, protecting their eyes, but otherwise were woefully unprepared for their current environment. Somewhere far away, a whistle from a Trailmon echoed despite the whirling winds as a disembodied guitar played. Where the music came from, the tamer and digimon didn’t know, but it was pleasant enough and distracted them from the blisters forming on their feet. The two had heard trains, horses, and even what sounded like a motorcycle at various points over the last few days, but they hadn't seen a single soul in the desolate land. Maybe the desert was playing with them, messing with their heads, or maybe they were just the least lucky souls in the whole of the Digital World. As the long day wore on, hours felt like days, which in turn felt like years. The duo felt like they had been walking for an eternity before their legs grew wobbly and life seemed at its end. They dropped to the ground and Saberdramon circled in the sky above as the sun crested the horizon, bathing the sky in a deep crimson. Through cracked lips, Hideki Tanaka spoke his first words since entering the inhospitable land, the words that he feared would be his last.
"This is it, buddy. This is how we die."The rookie’s reply wasn’t audible above the caws of carrion-eaters circling above. Neither the tamer nor digimon knew how their frail bodies were supposed to feed so many large, angry looking birds but supposed it wasn’t really their problem. Their morbid thoughts and skyward eyes were drawn elsewhere, however as they heard what sounded like.. hooves? Just another phantom sound to play with our heads, the tamer reckoned as he stared back towards the path they had just passed through, a narrow valley between two stark cliff walls. However, the cloud of rapidly billowing dust spoke otherwise as it wasn't long before a covered wagon appeared being pulled by what appeared to be zebras in cyclopean helmets. The driver was unlike any creature Hideki had ever seen, a vaguely anthropomorphic, cactus-like creature wearing a sombrero, poncho, and boxing gloves. "Now I know I'm hallucinating. Just put me out of my misery, you cruel jerks!" he shouted skyward to his ebon-feathered tormentors. “What are two kids like you doing out here in the middle of the desert? asked the Ponchomon. Tiny motes of light danced in its eye-holes. "Qué hacen dos chamacos en medio del desierto? No se ven nada bien... vamos, súbanse al carro. Los voy a llevar hacia mi casa, mi esposa ama tener visitas." The digimon leapt from atop the wagon and helped Troopmon carry the dehydrated Hideki. They carefully placed him atop some strangely crunchy blankets before the rookie lay beside his friend. The Spanish-speaking plant returned to the driver’s bench and reached for a well-worn guitar, plucking at the strings in an oddly familiar tune. "De todas maneras, siempre hace mucha comida, asi que va a estar muy contenta de tener más bocas que alimentar."Hideki's world faded to black as the two digimon spoke in their unknown languages. "Is that cactus.. speaking spanish?" He wondered aloud before he blacked out into the deepest sleep of his life.

When Hideki was awakened, it was in an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar place. The floor was wood, much like the ceiling and walls.. it appeared that he was in some kind of log cabin. It was a sparsely furnished, cozy room with little furniture aside from the bed the human found himself in. Hand-knitted quilts were draped over his freshly cleaned clothes. It was the kind of place he pictured everyone's folksy grandma living in, a scene straight from a greeting card or an episode of Little House on the Prairie.
There rose a grand commotion from another room outside his door, down the hallway, down some stairs, and into a crowded corner of the cabin. Hideki followed the noise with a makeshift blanket poncho as he saw his partner dining with what appeared to be a living garden. A pair of Cacti and a flower sat at a large, round table with the rubbery creature, having a ball as they casually threw bowls and plates around the room.
"What in tarnation? That's all y'all got for all them crops? Y'all done got swindled, that's what I'm thinkin." The smallest flower spoke with the loudest voice in its heavily accented English. "Shoo wee, I wouldn'ta taken any less than fiddy bits a piece."
The smaller, blue flowered digimon was flanked on one side by Troopmon and the poncho-wearing digimon from before. There appeared to be an even larger, apron-cloaked one across the table that finally noticed the groggy looking human. "Oh, yer up! Rise an' shine short-stuff! We was afraid that you weren't ever gonna wake up, what with ya sleepin' for three days and all. Troopmon's been worried sick about ya. Oh shoot, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Mama Togemon, but you can just call me Mama. That little vision over there.." she pointed to the smaller, blue flowered digimon, "..is my daughter, Aruraumon. You met my hubby earlier, Papa Ponchomon. We're all glad to see y'er alive and kicking."
"H̕҉̕i̛D̸҉e̡̨͠Ķ̡͜i̡-҉̢C̵̷̴Ha̛N̴!̵͡ ̶͞ ̶͞͠Y͏̴҉o̶̕U͏͘ ̡͏̡L̸̴͝i͡V̨͘͠E̸̛҉!̢̛̛!͢͞!" Troopmon leapt from its place at the table and embraced Hideki in a strangely sticky grip. It held his barely-stable body in a tight embrace as it jiggled like a water balloon.
"And back to you, little missy, it don't matter how much I charge fer 'em, it won't make any of them banditos any more cordial towards us. They take what they want and don't give no thoughts about us humble folks." The motherly cactus digimon had returned to the conversation she had been holding with her family, as a young child returning from the brink of death was an everyday occurrence in the household.
"But Ma, if we don't get more bits, we gonna lose da ranch!" Aruraumon looked on the verge of tears. She looked scared or perhaps hungry, Hideki thought.. but then again she was a plant so maybe their emotions worked differently. These creatures are complex beings.. and it's not like I've never been scared and hungry at the same time.
"I know, baby girl. I know. But it's not like it matters nothin' even if we get tha bits. The taxman works for tha gang too. If we don' think of somethin.." the Togemon looked up from her darling daughter and looked across the room at the gaudiest lamp that Hideki had ever seen. It looked as if it had been hastily constructed from gun pieces and it may have actually been a paperweight, not a lamp. "...then we might have to sell Grandpappy Cherrimon's precious thingamajig." Now that I think about it, it doesn't even really look like anything.. who knows? Digimon are weird.
"Well, you know, maybe Troopmon and I could help out?" Hideki offered, interjecting for the first time into their conversation. "I may not know how to fight or much about field work, but I know that an extra pair of hands around here couldn't hurt. Plus, it'll be nice to pay you back for all you've done for us."
This here's a story about hardship, about struggle in downright hostile places that could scare the fur right off a Prairiemon. It's a story about family, about friends, and about the struggles that come with both. It's about not bowing to the bad guys, about fighting fer what's right and not givin' a damn about what happens afterwards.. but most of all it's about looking forward, grittin' them teeth and taking fate right by the cojones and givin' it a squeeze.
But the best part hasn't even showed up yet, so take yer spurs off and kick off yer boots. This is gonna be a doozie.

What were Mana, Ayaka and the newest member of the team, Penny doing in the middle of Folder Desert? That was a really good question, considering that Mana didn't like heat and Ayaka was a plant made for way more cooler climates. It had begun this way.
"Penny-chan, do you know any places where people speak Spanish like you? I'd like to find some native speakers myself! Maybe I could even learn a little about them!".
And so, with a Smile (and not before warning that it'd be so hot that digi-chickens laid hard-boiled eggs), Penny evolved into her Ginryumon form and began flying to the midst of Folder Desert. Her destiny? A small Village in there, where she had met her linguistically-speaking peers.
Yet, the dragon hadn't taken into account that maybe... her current riders weren't all that apt to heat, and that now the both of them were sweating like if they were to melt in any moment from now on. Noticing this, she landed at the first house she saw, a rather woody and flowery-looking place. It seemed comfy, yet a bit... rustic.
"¿Hola?" she called from the door as she knocked it "¿Hay alguien aquí?". Hopefully someone would answer her call, otherwise the poor girl and plant ran the risk of being dehydrated, and dehydration in the middle of a desert wasn't good.
OOC: ("¿Hola? = Hello?"; "¿Hay alguien aquí?" = Is Anyone here?)

OK, so... following sister to the Terminus and got separated midway thanks to heavy wave? Not good... Taking random Trailmon in hope that it's the right one? Not good either. Thinking that it'll be the first picnic when you basically taking this journey like a kid who told her big sister she's not a kid? Well, double shat. You're in great trouble. And that's exactly what happened to Aria. Her D-Terminal beeped soon after.
To: Nakano Aria <Aria-chan> From: Nakano Koharu <Haru-nee> Subject: WHERE ARE YOU!?
DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE LOST!? GIVE ME YOUR COORDINATE TO ME, PRONTO!! DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE STILL ANGRY AT ME!? ARIAAAAA, DON'T DO THIS TO NEECHAN ;w;
...Honestly, she'd do that on the first go if it's not for her sorry state of being dehydrated, along with Noir in her Kyaromon form beside her. Aria handed her second water bottle to the Digimon. Honestly, this is much hotter compared to her time in summer comiket. Now to think of it... she's rather a closet otaku, aren't she? Wait, let's not talk about that. She still have to get up, walk to the nearest town and return back to her sister. Still, her stamina is really weak, and Noir isn't any better either.
Honestly, the raven haired girl truly lamented how her hair is black. It's absorbing heat much faster... not helping that it's so long...
"Aria-chan! Look!" Noir pointed at a small desert village happily. Looking at that direction, Aria smiled slightly. She took out her third water bottle, and poured it to her head, before pouring some on the Kyaromon. It might be useless, but at this point, any attempt to re-hydrate themselves will be very appreciated. Aria broke into sprint, trying to get as fast as she can to the town, but not before tumbling down.
Heatstroke. She got a really bad heatstroke. She curses herself... and she's so close to the village, too!
"...Haru...nee..." the girl moaned, as if reaching for something...
...Fate sure hate her... just when she thought she can have fun in somewhere nice with her sister... now this...

Hideki was working in the fields alongside Ponchomon when he heard a voice coming from just outside of the house. It couldn't have been the sombrero'd cactus digimon.. he was right here? But who else would speak Spanish around here? He'd been living with the Cactus family for more than a week now, and to the best of his knowledge, they appeared to be the only residents of the small town. Everyone else had been chased out by the bandits raids long ago..
"Sí, estamos en el campo haciendo un trabajo!" the tamer had picked up some of the digimon's language while he was staying there. It's surprising how much you can pick up when you're stuck outside alone with a talkative wannabe-mariachi for most of the day. "Um.. cómo se dice 'how can I help you' en español, señor Ponchomon?"
"¿Puedo hacer algo por ti?" the smallish, poncho-wearing champion answered casually. 'He's a nice guy', Hideki thought, 'hard working and always friendly, even if he is a terrible guitar player.' But then again he and his family had been treating Hideki and Troopmon like their own blood since they'd saved them, so maybe the boy's views were a bit skewed.
Troopmon and Aruraumon were supposed to be working, but why in the Digital World would you waste a great day like this one? The two walked alone along the outskirts of the town, or in surrounding valleys.. really anywhere the plant-based digimon's parents wouldn't see them. The adults would never understand the two's love. They wandered along hand-in-hand along the winding trail that had brought the Undead rookie and its tamer into the village oh so long ago.. Troopmon hadn't changed much since then and its mind barely grasped the concept of the emotions it felt towards this blue-petaled creature, but they were good emotions nonetheless. It made the digimon think about lunch, and sunshine, and other good things that distracted it from how it felt.
"Oh Troopy, darlin'! Y'all be makin' this little flower feel like tha only one in tha meadow." Aruraumon wasn't one for complicated metaphors, and tended to use flower imagery a lot, especially considering that sometimes it was quite literal.
"Ỳ̛́͞o̸̢̡͏̶Ų̶̛҉ ͝͝M͜҉̷͘͠a̵̢͏̢͘K͘͜͡͠E͏̴͝͞ ̶̷̧́͜T̴̢̨͏R̸̛͟͝҉o̸͘͢͝O҉͡͠͞͞P҉҉̴̸͝M̶͢o̡͏̧͡͏N͜͝ ̢̕͟Ņ̸͘o̸̴̢͘̕T҉͞ ̷̀Ḩ̡͢͡u̢͏͢N̶̛͏Ģ͢͡R̵̕Y̵̴̸͢͝.́́́͟͠ ̷̡̡́͡ ̴͝M̨͠e̶̸͝͡͏ ̵̸̵̡́L͘͏ǫ͢͠V̸̨͜͞Ȩ͟͠͡S̀̕͜͟ ̷̢̕͟Y̵͘o̴͢U҉͠͠҉ ̴̡̢͡ ̶̧̢͡M̀̕͟u̵̵͠Ç̶̸̶̡H҉̸Ĺ̴̶͞Y҉͏.̀́͟͝͝:" Troopmon wasn't a deep thinker, okay? But it had picked up a few words from the excitable Southern belle, one of which it would soon learn to regret.
"You LOVE me, Troopy? I do declare, I'm feeling faint! I love you too, Darlin'! I can't wait to tell Pa that we're gonna get hitched and have little freshlin's and.." the ranting flower was interrupted however by a sound not far from where they had been standing.. a noise not unlike a human dying of dehydration, something that 'Troopy' had heard one too many times in its short life.
The undead-digimon, as scary as it was, ran to the raven-haired girl laying face-first in the desert sand.
"oH No!̛͢͠ ҉͝͝ ̛͟͝T҉R͞ǫO̵͜P҉̧M̕ǫ̵̨Ǹ́ ̵͜͝W͢͢i̴L͢L̀ ͠Ḩ͜e̵͢L̢͞͠P͏͞ ͞S̸̨̛Le͝E͘P̴Y̸̢̛ ̨͏Ļ̷a̢͟DỲ͡!̵ ̷H̡͞i̧D̛e̴K̷̴i̕͡!̀́ ͠͝H͘iD̛́èK̸̴i͠ H̵è̴͠Ĺ̢P̸̴͜!͡" the creature lifted the girl to her feet and tried to support her as it half-dragged the weakened girl to the small town. Aruraumon followed behind, upset that their moment had been spoiled by something as petty as a dying homo sapien.
(OOC: Sorry if my spanish isn't great.. I used my old english-spanish dictionary and a web translator. Please correct me if I need to fix anything)

Answers! Great, hopefully they would be kind enough to lend them help. She was so desperate that she'd resort to violence if it were necessary, but she honestly didn't want to get to that point any time soon. "¡Necesitamos ayuda! ¡Mis amigas se deshidrataron!" the Ginryumon called frantically. She began to circle the rusty house, searching for the 'field' the seemingly human voice had said that message.
It seemed like your normal, everyday farmland (albeit one that were somewhat adapted to survive this harsh climate). There, the dragon found a human boy who wore... weird clothes, oh, and a Ponchomon. As the boy had said, they were both working on the fields. The Ginryumon (henceforth refered as Penny) gently set her barely conscious friends on the ground and bowed deeply to the two beings "Siento molestarlos, pero... mis amigas necesitan agua. ¿Pueden ayudarnos, por favor?" her tone was supplicating, almost pleading.
In cue, the little girl shortly opened her eyes, widening them for an instant as she saw the boy's face. Even if he was a mirage, she was happy to see a familiar face again. "Hi, Hideki-san. It's good to see you again" she muttered weakly "Excuse me, I'm not in my best talking mood but... how've you been?".
Not an instant after, she had passed out again.
OOC: ¡Necesitamos ayuda! ¡Mis amigas se deshidrataron! = We need help! My friends dehydrated! Siento molestarlos, pero... necesitan agua. ¿Pueden ayudarnos, por favor? = Sorry to bother you, but my friends need water. Can you help us, please?

"Uh... huh...?" Aria half consciously looked at her savior... A Digimon? What... what just happened to her? She saw Noir beside her, trying her best to follow her. When the small in-training saw Aria's eyes opened slightly, she quickly grabbed the water bottle on Aria's hand, shoving it to her mouth. The tamer felt a little bit energized, but... the matter is, heatstroke is not something that can be gone as easy as after you drink something. Honestly, even the water felt like a warm water instead of the cold water she loves.... argh.
Still, the intense sun made her hallucinate slightly. She looked again at her savior... A black haired boy came to mind, someone who's much taller than her... She smiled slightly. Ryouta's been good at her, and honestly a great big brother-in-law candidate... that is, until she understood that he's dating Mana. That's not bad, actually... She thinks Mana also deserved him... and then... her sister told her she got a boyfriend, not Ryouta. She planned to start it slow, but surely... She's really happy at that... But to her surprise, he's Mana's big brother... complicated family much?
But then... she noticed that the guy would be too short to be Ryouta... and that's when she snapped and saw the true figure of the Digimon. Luckily, before she can scream, Noir quickly closed her mouth.
"...Um, I know he might doesn't look like your ordinary guy, but... he's a savior, you know? So..."
Aria nodded slowly at her partner. The Digimon released her tail from her mouth.
"...Sorry... thank you very much..."

Hideki wasn't the best spanish speaker in the world, but he knew the words for 'help', 'friends', and 'dehydration' when he heard them. They had been among the first that Ponchomon had taught him, if just so he didn't have a repeat of their meeting any time soon. It wasn't long before a long, quadrupedal, Spanish-speaking dragon entered the field with two creatures in tow.. a somewhat familiar leafy digimon and.. is that Mana?
"Um.. si! Agua? Agua!" the boy searched his pockets for his work canteen full of sun-warmed water. "No es.. frio, but esta agua." He hoped his Spanish was intelligible to the large, armored dragon. The boy rushed to his fellow tamer's side and gave her some water. "Señor Poncho, dar la digimon de.. con la cabeza de la hoja un.. um.. agua para beber. Por favor."
He was happy when his friend opened her eyes, but she was unconscious almost a split second afterwards. He hadn't even gotten to talk. Well, at least she's going to survive.
Troopmon's heroism went just as well. The girl it and Aruraumon (whom had finally started helping) carried into town was clearly delusional, mumbling in her sleep. Nothing intelligible came from the girl's half-conscious mumbles and Troopmon hoped that the girl's brain hadn't turned to goo! Then again, Hideki had said some really dumb stuff when he was dehydrated too, so maybe it's just something that happens to humans when their brains get all sweaty.
"Awh, looks like your new lady friend done got her brains scrambled." Aruraumon was a terrible person, but luckily for her, she just had to be a digimon. Well, she could have been worse. At least she shared her water with the dying human, not that the girl knew.. she was too busy fawning over Troopy! The human was just drooping all over him.. 'Ugh, when that girl wakes up, I'mma give her a piece of my mind!'
Neither of the rookies had even noticed the small, fluffy in-training riding on the back of the human until it spoke to its semi-conscious tamer. The girl thanked the rubber-skinned rookie and Troopmon made a "hudda" of acknowledgement towards the two, but it really didn't know what to say. What do humans mean when thanks are give? Me Troopmon no can use thanks, me just do good because is good thing to do good.
It wasn't long before the quartet reached the Cactus household and brought the girl and her digimon inside.
Needless to say, the two rookies were only slightly smarter than the rocks along the path.. Love amongst fools is still love, however, and thus they were made for each other.

Mana almost automatically began drinking the water, coughing a bit every now and then because her throat was as a dry as the desert they've been traveling into. Even if it wasn't the coldest water around (quite the opposite, actually), the girl welcomed the liquid as an almost bankrupt jewelry shop would welcome a millionaire; consciousness slowly returned to her, but she wasn't in a talking state yet. If Ponchomon did the same, Ayaka would return to normalcy faster than her partner, due to the lack of water not affecting her plant self as badly as it affected a human, and she was in working condition much sooner than the girl.
"Gracias" the dragon said, thankful. Although she recognized the boy as a non-native Spanish speaker (and that Mana recognized her, apparently. She couldn't be sure if those had been ramblings of a dehydrated human). But as she was about to address the boy, Ayaka spoke immediately.
"Thank you two for the timely help, Ponchomon-san, Hideki-san. Only Yggdrassil knows what would have happened in Penny-chan had not brought us here" she then bowed to the pair "Excuse my manners. My name is Ayaka. I am miss Mana's partner" the fairy gestured to the girl who was still struggling to totally regain her capabilities "And the fine dragon lady that brought us here is Penélope, but she prefers to be addressed as Penny. We are very pleased to meet you. Or to meet you again, in Hideki-san's case. Speaking if which, where is Chikurimon? I have not seen him as of yet".
OOC: Gracias = Thank you.

If Noir could protest and these two aren't her partner's savior, she would probably smack the Aruraumon on the top of her head for commenting that her partner's head all scrambly now. Still, at least that now the two Digimons brought them to (presumably) their house, with Aria getting more and more better (Noir still have to compress her with the help of her soaked tail, though), she saw someone she know.
"Well, isn't this Mana-chan and her companions! What a pleasant surprise! What are you girls doing here?" she asked to the girls cheerfully. "As for me and Aria... well... Honestly it's nothing that great, really, it's just... bunch of lost girls, trying to travel together with Haru-gon, but failed miserably..." she explained.
However, soon, she noticed that she haven't introduce herself or Aria to everyone else.
"Aahh, I'm such a mannerless girl, nyahahahaha! Forgot to introduce myself, aren't I? My name's Noir, here's my partner Nakano Aria. Nice t'metcha' all!"

"Calm down, Mana.. you don't wanna drink it up too fast. You'll really regret it if you do." He remembered a time or two when he was dehydrated and he overindulged in the drink.. re-hydrating too quickly could end really, really messily. Like.. the girl puking her brains out messily. So, because of this and the situation she had been brought to him in, the boy was worried about his acquaintance. But at the same time, he was really relieved to see a familiar face around. If Mana and Ayaka could get lost out here, then maybe he wasn't as hopeless a tamer as he had thought. "De nada, señorita dragón."
The Ponchomon smiled when Ayaka finished speaking. "Estoy muy feliz de conocerte también, Sra. Ayaka . Tú también Sra. Penny, debe ser muy valiente para venir hasta aquí para sus amigas ." The champion's face twisted when it heard Chikurimon.. a name it didn't recognize but it was interrupted before he spoke.
"It's good to see you too, Ayaka. As for Chikurimon, actually it's Troopmon now. Digivolution changes a lot of things, and I'm starting to get why you chose to have a proper name. It makes things way easier to talk about in conversation. Oh, and I'm not really sure where it wandered off to..", the boy hadn't seen his partner all day.. but that had increasingly become the norm lately, as the digimon would slip out before sunrise with Aruraumon and spend most of the day doing whatever they did until nightfall..
But apparently not today, as the dynamic duo entered the rustic cabin with a young girl and an in-training digimon in tow. As the digimon was seemingly able to speak without assistance, she was in better condition than Mana or Ayaka, whom she immediately struck up conversation with. She soon realized that she was in a room full of strangers, though and introduced herself. Hideki knew that feeling.. he wasn't particularly good with the whole manners thing. He remembered a time when his brain would completely freeze when encountered with conversation.. granted, it was only around girls, but maybe Noir had a similar thing going on.
"Nice meeting you too, Noir and Aria. So, what brings so many ladies to our neck of the... desert?"

The girl gulped on a slower fashion at Hideki's warning, not really wanting too push her almost-dehydrated body to the other end of the spectrum that fast, already imagining the consequences of her previously automatic actions.
Both Ayaka and Penny (now devolved into her Ryudamon form), noticing that the girl had seemingly recovered, immediately rushed at her side, but not without nodding and smiling at their interlocutors' praise and greetings.
They began to help her, as she began to recover from her sorry state. Just as that happened, Aria, Noir and two digimons that the trio hadn't seen before made their presences known. Apparently, Aria had incured into a similar fate that the one of their small party. Just as Noir finished her introduction, Mana finally seemed to snap out of the stupor she felt. "Hi, Hideki-san, Noir-chan! Wait... I think I've already greeted you, Hideki, didn't I? Anyway, thank you for saving us!".
Afer hearing their pieces, she began to speak again, in hopes to address both Noir and Hideki. "Well, to be honest, I wanted to learn a little bit more of Spanish, and because I've grown bored to the books I've asked Penny-chan if she could bring us to a place where the digimons spoke it, and so, we traveled here, but I didn't imagine than the heat would be so severe and... things happened. Luckily, Penny-chan is quite resistant to it, even if she uses all that heavy armor. I don't quite remember anything else, 'cept that we woke up here with you and Ponchomon-san! And that's why we're here! Hopefully we'll be able to repay you for getting us out of that trouble!" she blinked a bit, noticing Aria's state "Um, Noir-chan, is Aria-chan going to be alright? She looks a bit worse than how I looked previously. I don't think that Ayaka can rehydrate people, but otherwise I'd offer her help".

"Well, like I said before... oh, that's not clear enough? OK, let's try other approach... Basically, me and Aria here is going for some lil' adventure with Aria's beloved 'Haru-nee'... Koharu, or 'Harugon' like how I call her. Aria tried to act tough because she doesn't want her sister to think her as a little kid that doesn't know where to go and all, but actually social strength of a hikkikomori is... well, lacking..." Noir definitely said that so normally, completely face value. She really have an attitude problem, doesn't she?
"The thing is, acting tough, then got lost when she refused to hold hands, even refused to ask peoples for direction... and in return got aboard the wrong train and got kicked out because of refusing to go down at the last stop... Well, I can list all the things but I guess if I do that, Aria would cry... but still, I guess she learned her lesson alright... Sorry about that, I just want her to understand how crucial it is to not play around when the situation demands you to be serious..."
Aria on the other hand, looks like she's really regretting her actions.
"...Well, she got heatstroke, but I guess that's normal for a house person like her... She'll be OK eventually? Either way, just give her a little time and rest, and she'll be fine, don't worry!"

"Yeah, you did." Hideki smiled widely "But it's fine. It's not like I was gonna' let you guys die out there. There's no need to thank me for doin' the right thing.. that's its own reward." He'd been hanging out with Ma Togemon too much.. or maybe it was a little bit of Ryoko's influence had rubbed off on him.. but he wasn't having anywhere near as much issues talking with these girls he found himself surrounded by. He used to freeze up, stutter, and freak out when he was afraid of messing up.. now he just didn't think when he spoke.
"Well, if you want to learn Spanish, you came to the right place. Papa Poncho over here is a great teacher when he's not working ya' to the bone or playing his guitar." He was right, though. Ponchomon only spoke Spanish for some reason, despite clearly understanding English and his entire family speaking in it as their primary language. The boy's happy facial expression changed when he heard Mana say that she wanted to repay him and Ponchomon. "You might not wanna offer somethin' like that.. he'll make ya work in the fields like me." At this, the sombrero'd cactus digimon started laughing heartily before drifting off to another room.. probably to either grab something to celebrate with or his guitar.
"Oh, I'm sorry Noir. I wasn't really listening earlier.. I don't like to eavesdrop and I figured it was something just between you ladies." He spoke to Aria when her fluffy partner finished explaining their situation. "This Haru-nee must be really important to ya' for you to have traveled all this way.. even if it was on accident." He spoke the second part of the sentence quieter than the second. There was no reason to embarrass the poor girl any more than her digital friend had. He continued speaking softly and gently, full of empathy. "It's alright, I understand making mistakes like that.. you wouldn't even believe me if I told you how I got here." The boy's goofy smile showed that it wasn't a bad memory.. or maybe he had just learned to laugh at himself about it.
"Usted niñas humanos bebe tequila, ¿no?" Ponchomon shouted from the other room as the clinking of glass was heard.

Mana nodded at Noir's explanation. She was still happy that the sister had fixed up their relationship, and the fact that they had chosen to spend a day together in the Digital World filled her with joy; well, excluiding the fact that it hadn't ended all that well, but that could be fixed... right? "So, Haru-chan is here? That's so cool!" she cheered, but then gasped "But she's surely worried sick about Aria-chan! I've to fix that!".
After asking Penny where they exactly were, she began typing.
To: Nakano Koharu <Haru-chan> From: Tsumura Mana <Mana-chan> Subject: I'm with Aria-chan
Hi Haru-chan! Promise me that you won't get too worried, but I'm with Aria-chan! We're currently in Folder Desert, and poor her had a heatstroke, but she's recovering right now! Hopefully she'll be fine in no time! And don't worry, I'll bring her to you safe and sound! You can totally trust in me!
As if repeating herself, she went to were Aria was and hugged the smaller girl "Don't worry, Aria-chan! Everything'll be alright! When you feel better, we'll go and meet Haru-chan again and you'll be reunited!".
After comforting Aria, she began to address Hideki again. "Of course there's need to thank you! You helped us, and both Ayaka and me are grateful to you because of that. It's not as if we were giving you a gift or something, we're just thanking you!".
He heard the rest of the boy's speech towards her, smiling widely at him along the way. "Oh, that would be so good! Papa Poncho surely's really knowledgable mon! And don't worry, I think that we can handle working in the field just fine! I mean, those are plants, after all".
Right in cue, Ayaka placed her 'hands' on the ground in a nearby field, and after a little while, stems of digi-potato plants began to rise from the ground. "Nifty, huh?".
As they talked, the mere mention of tequila made Penny grow alarmed. "¡Son demasiado jóvenes para tomar!" she exclaimed with concern. Alcohol, to a thirteen year old? She didn't have to be the most knowledgable digimon about human customs, but she had had his bumps with other humans previously at the implications. Apparently, only human adults were allowed to drink alcohol, and she couldn't but relate that to the fact that if a Fresh or In-Training digimon drank, it'd be knocked unconscious really fast. Heck, even most rookies had low alcohol tolerance, but that was a matter for another moment. Mana wouldn't appreciate going from dehydrated to drunk any time soon, or at least that was what the dragon thought.
OOC: ¡Son demasiado jóvenes para tomar! = They are too young to drink!
