Facing a New World [Sinn/Request]

"... I guess that just about brings you up to speed."
This definitely wasn't the most pleasant way to be coming into the Digital World, that was for sure. Honestly, it had been quite a long time since Ami had last set foot in this plane, and for good reason. After the incident with Adamon, and with a damning storm covering the lands when she finally managed to reunite with her Digimon partner, Valeria, she was definitely not eager to come back. So, with her partner, they had a rather peaceful few months... a whole quarter, completely devoid of anything supernatural! Even Valeria, held so far away from her home, could appreciate the change of pace!
It wasn't to last, however. Receiving an urgent message from a rather rare source, and given a set of coordinates in the Digital World to follow, Ami felt a bit hesitant. They were free, weren't they? That world was over there, and it had caused them so much distraught. What of value was left there? Valeria, however, managed to convince her, if for nothing else than that Koneka was a dear friend to them. And so, they made a portal: given explicit instructions to avoid major Digital transport, the two found themselves next to a dim fire in a completely desolate part of the Digital World.
The cave itself was actually broken in a bit. This wasn't the first night that Koneka had stayed out here: six thin bedspreads were prepared, a stock of food and scant cooking supplies were apparent, next to a small amount of medicine. Scratches in the wall marked the days that she had been 'stranded' here. Such a distraught sight... just what brought her to this state?
Of course, that was the point of being called here. Koneka spoke of what was going on, of the army attacking Snowpoint (wasn't that a bit too close for comfort?) and the terror besieging Whitewater. Specifics of the situation were far and few between, but the culprits seemed to be the familiar 'Zodiac' Digimon. Past that, well...
"..."
With her story told, Koneka broke eye contact, simply staring coldly off in the fire. At the center of the 'last' conflict before the Devas, she was understandably hesitant, but worried about quite a number of things. Not detached from this world, she worried for her comrades in science and medicine, for Vika, for Red...
The other two in the room, however, simply looked at her in shock.
"I... I don't believe this..." Her voice hollow, Ami fell back, expression aghast, the rabbit next to her looking up to her tamer in worry.
"Ami..." Unlike her tamer, the rabbit's voice didn't have the same hopelessness in it, but rather one of concern. Looking towards Koneka, she gave a sigh. "Ami, what are we going to do? We... we have to do something, right?"
Those words rattled around in Ami's head, the teenager looking blankly over at her rabbit. Just... why her. Why did it have to be her, granted this Digivice, and thrust down here? She didn't want any of this, but-
"... Maybe I shouldn't have bothered..."

Viktor had been so caught up with catching that rat Fringe that he lost his foresight, the Devas were wreaking havoc in the digital world, and from what Viktor heard around the 'water cooler' it was getting worse. Koneka, the cat doctor that saved his life contacted him, telling him of the threat. And that his 'friend' was involved. Viktor's investigations led him to a dead end, he seemingly vanished, so it made sense if he came back here.
Viktor started a fire as Koneka laid out bedrolls,
"What a mess. Guess the vultures waited to see what was rotting. But it seems like all we can do is be defensive."
He spit as he sighed as Genesis stepped in, placing a hand on her hip;
"Snowflake village is in flames. It's the dog with an Army beyond counting. It's definitely Fringe's work."
With another sigh Viktor sat down and placed his hands on his knees. He knew Snowflake village well, but this wasn't the first time he'd seen a liked place go up in flames. And he knew it wouldn't be the last. With a cigar placed firmly in his lips, he pulled the flavor from the tobacco filled stick, blowing smoke into the fire as he walked deeper into the cave, cursing as he placed a hand on the wall and guided it down. Genesis thought he was shocked, scared even. It was natural to assume so, that was a normal reaction.
But she was wrong. In fact, Viktor's mind was working a thousand miles an hour, his eyes darting back and forth as he continued deeper into the cave, Genesis was right behind him. He stopped and chuckled, then did an about face and walked back to the entrance, hearing Ami and her understandable shock at the situation.
"It gets worse...but I think I have an idea."
Genesis filed behind him, standing ready just in case Valeria was...not ok. That form of trust never really came back, and Genesis doubted it ever would. She always kept an eye open against Valeria. But Viktor didn't seem to mind her, it was as if he knew exactly what her situation was, and sort of sympathizes with it. But this wasn't the time or place.
They had to deal with the threat, or the thread would deal with them.

"I'm just glad to have a cool head here. Thanks for letting me drag you two out here." Honestly, Koneka was surprised to receive such a turnout from her calls thus far: this was two-for-two so far, and she had a third number in mind, one who was quite familiar with the previous 'incident'. Unlike Valeria or Ami, these two were immediately on the same page, though a bit more behind the game than she would have preferred.
"Don't go too deep, now; we'll need the smoke to air out." Calmer than before, Koneka gave a glance down the cave, before giving a look towards Genesis, followed by a small nod. It was about then that Ami and Valeria appeared before them... and, once they were brought up to speed, Viktor once more appeared from the depths of the cave. As he mentioned that he had an idea, the cat shot a glance over at the other two: Valeria's ear perked up immediately, looking intently over at Viktor.
"Let's hear it, then... don't leave us hanging!" Even in this perilous time, Valeria was still the same explosive, impatient rabbit that she always was. And, in her eagerness, she was completely oblivious to what Koneka immediately caught onto, looking right towards the teenager resting on one of the cots. After hearing this news, Ami hadn't even given a response: just blankly staring at the fire, oblivious to Viktor, Genesis, and even her partner at this point. A moment later, Valeria gave a glance over, her ears drooping. Padding to her partner's side, she shook Ami's foot:
"Ami..."
"Huh?" Blinking, she looked down at her foot, and sat up, looking down and away from Viktor. Though everyone had it rough, Ami just... well, couldn't, right now. And to that, Koneka finally gave a sigh.
"Go ahead with the idea, Viktor. Maybe a bit of clarity will help us sort our heads. And... for the love of Sovereign, get her out of that. She's useless like that."

The Ice gave a sobering reminder how real the digital world was, the sharp sting of wings and the white headaches reminded Viktor how much he hated the snow and everything about it. But as a whole, it almost always worked as a cover, snow was thick, kicking it up in the air caused a smoke effect. Viktor didn't just carry a pack full of grenades with him, even though he often wish he did.
He spoke as he took an another hit from his cigar:
"When I was a younger man I had this mission in Siberia. Some Serbian separatist still loyal to an old leader blah blah blah. But they had hostages, and our job was to get them out. We used snow to conceal ourselves. Perhaps we could do the same here. Set up an ambush site and pull out anyone alive. I got close to that dog deva, he has troops that I've seen before... clones made by an imperfect mind. Easy to kill but they self replicate. Don't ask me how. If we ca-"
And explosion shook the cave causing Viktor to brace his free arm against the rock, then a second one that was much louder. As if trained to know Viktor spoke;
"That was a bomb. One of them went off in the air."
Genesis quickly jumped atop a tree as she scouted out. Cursing as she watched the dog deva jump to mountain very close to them. Genesis ducked down as he passed, luckily he veered off just before their camp. He wouldn't smell the fire due to the fact of that the entire forest smelt like that. Genesis held her breath as she heard the Dog deva stop and turn, speak of the battle and then vanish. She breathed a sigh of relief as she hopped down, running back the few hundred meters and breathing a second sigh of relief;
"The village is wiped out. It's just a crater now. But people are leaving. We should count ourselves lucky an avalanche didn't start."
Viktor was using a scope from a rifle to get a better view as he spoke to Ami;
"What do you think? We could take down the remaining forces and pull people out or leave. It is your choice."

Well, this situation was getting more pleasant by the second. Koneka's attention was completely taken away from her surroundings, listening intently to Viktor's story, as well as his plan. It was sound enough, but it had obvious risks. Should they be detected by Caturamon as well, there wasn't much stopping them from becoming part of the casualty list, especially in this state. It got the Gatomon thinking...
And that 'thinking' was enough for her to cover her ears as a large explosion echoed its way throughout the valley! "Fff-"
"Ow!" Deafened for a moment, the rabbit winced and reached up to cover her ears. It was in this moment, however, that Ami seemed to snap out of it: this wasn't a hopeless story that she was on the fringe of, no. It was happening right around them! Shaking her head, still with a bit of unease in her frame, Ami sat up, her Digivice at the ready in her hands, a light on the screen-
"Hold!" Shaking her head towards Ami, Koneka shot a glare outside, a silent prayer passing her mind for Genesis' safety. "Don't draw them to us with a signal. Don't fire unless you have to."
"Tch..." Relenting, the light dissipating from the Digivice, Ami held a similar stance to the cat, just waiting for some impossibly strong Digimon to appear at the entrance to the cave. Thankfully, the moment never came, Genesis quickly returning to the base. In that one brief moment, Koneka, Ami, and Valeria gave a simultaneous breath of relief.
It wasn't one of happiness, though, as Genesis' report quickly affirmed the worst. Perhaps out of adrenaline, as Viktor gave his suggestion, Ami nodded: "If Caturamon is gone, Valeria will wipe out the rest of it as Adamon. We won't leave a single stone unturned-"
"No." Koneka shook her head, a grin on her face as Ami finally came to terms with the situation. To Koneka's answer, Valeria seemed dumbfounded:
"We're going to leave them-"
"Listen carefully. Snowpoint was just attacked by a Digimon targeting humans. If we come in at full force, our 'full force' will be presented by any machine-type sentinel left by Caturamon. Any cards we play, so to speak, will be open book to the enemy. Besides, Snowpoint will be hesitant to allow outsiders..."
Koneka smirked: "But that doesn't mean we won't help them. Viktor, what targets do you see?"
"So, what's the-" A confused Valeria was cut off one more time, by Koneka:
"We're going to have an 'act of god' save them. Valeria, your ultimate form is a golem, which can change its shape and markings?" She was onto something, but Valeria, a bit confused, only gave a nod:
"Yeah, but... how does that matter?" Valeria seemed a bit impatient, until Ami finally put the brakes on it:
"Just listen for a moment, Valeria..."
"We'll have you put markings on yourself based on the ruins of this area, and have you approach on the old mining entrance. Its probably collapsed, but that's nothing for you to break through. Viktor, do you have a radio receiver we can use?"
She had a plan:
"Let's save them with an 'act of god'."

The plan was crazy, the idea to mimic a god, to play the idea that they were a force they weren't was...so insane it just might work.
Viktor relayed the targets as Koneka asked:
"A lot of movers. Looks like...at least a hundred. But they have no support from above. It's just ground troops."
Then she asked for his radio, which still had Genesis on the other line. He shook his and and spoke:
"Not until Genesis gets back, then it's all yours."
The russian waited for Genesis to return as he continued to watch the army move about, attempting to follow some survivors, who did a good job of hiding. But they were on a schedule, and their window was closing. It was time to act. Viktor looked around for any more signs of survivors when an idea of his own popped in his head.
"Look how we're on a hill that slopes to Snowpoint...And all the downed logs...With Adamon and Taomon we could stack them and roll them down the hill."
Genesis landed and spoke as she emerged from the settling dust and snow;
"So, soften the target?"
"Exactly! Then, once the logs have settled we attack from two sides. But not at the same time. Valeria, I need you to do your playing God and just get everyone to focus on you, Genesis will then come behind them as the aggression is turned toward you. I count maybe a dozen larger foes, check that as it is rough sightings. But they shouldn't be a problem. We thin their numbers and push to the center, grab any survivors and move from there."
Genesis sighed, crossing her arms as she watched Viktor begin to draw the village in the snow, giving an idea of how he planned this. She had her doubts, but she had seen him do things like this. He wasn't just spouting ideas, these were likely things he had done before, but whether they worked or not was beyond her. Maybe he had done this so many times it was wired in him, or maybe it was just a hairbrained idea, regardless. It was something.
Viktor stood up as he tossed the stick:
"Okay. Let us show them the wrath of a 'God'."

"I hate to pressure you two, but it will just have to be Genesis on the logs." As the Renamon returned, Koneka quickly took the radio in paw, hopefully acquiring the speaker from Viktor a moment later. To the other two in the room, however, this seemed to be going just a bit too fast:
"Okay, so, wait. We're dropping trees from above, and... and..."
"Hurry up and get to ultimate." Koneka cut off the rabbit, and then looked towards Ami: "Set up a portal about three degrees east of here: find a mine-shaft clearance. You won't be going through, but Valeria will. If she doesn't come out from the mine shaft in eight minutes, get a portal back there and pull her out; it will mean the rock was too hard to move." Already, the cat was moving a mile a minute. With a sigh, Valeria shrugged and relented. Sitting in the corner of the cavern, a golden glow of warp-digivolution surrounded her, the rabbit replaced with an opulent golden golem.
"I understand the basics here, but why are you rushing it this much? If we attack too soon, Caturamon will be close enough for them to signal back, and then we'll be stuck in a bind!"
"If he cared, he would have stayed. There's no advantage to him protecting the area anymore. Besides, if we drag too long, there will be less survivors to pull up." At this point, she was already marking Koganemon's armor with a rough stone, directing Valeria to make grooves or patterns with her nail, to match more ancient markings located around the frozen plain. "Besides, Taomon can spot. If he comes back around, we bail before it gets too bad. Locate back here in two hours, regardless of progress. Got it?"
"Still seems sudden." Valeria's metallic voice ran through the cave, to which Koneka smirked, and pushed the radio into the golem's torso, letting it sink in: "Put a thin film over that. Alright, Ami?"
"Um, right, portal's set!" With that, a blue glowing vortex appeared before the tamer.
"Alright, Valeria. We'll put you down there, you begin pulling through the rubble, and Viktor will attack from above. Your goal is to terrorize and get rid off the occupying force. Stay quiet; I'll be speaking through the radio on your chest. For ambiance."
"Great, I'm a sideshow."
"So you should be used to it. Okay, Viktor!" Koneka called out: "We're good on this end. Let's get this show rolling!"

The wind blew a sharp sting into Viktor's bare face as he sat atop the hill, crouching down and smoking. The bitter taste of tobacco dulling his taste buds with each passing draw of the cigar. He watched the Troopmon move about. And the two MadLeomon that pushed the mindless husks around. Unlike the Troopmon, the MadLeomon seemed somewhat sentient. And Viktor was watching for the sake of learning how his enemy operated. After all, the worst enemy anyone had was the unknown.
Genesis spoke as she stacked the final log on the pile, her voice much more imposing in her Taomon form:
"Okay Pops, the logs are all set up. Are you ready?"
He sighed as he finished his cigar as flicked it into the snow;
"Ready as I will ever be. Let us start the party."
Genesis hoisted Viktor onto her shoulder as he wrapped his arm around her neck, or at least as far as he could manage. Genesis flew in, dropping Viktor off nearby as he pulled a laser from his bag and flicked it on his hand to test it. He looked to Genesis, who nodded that she saw it and began moving back to the logs, waiting for Viktor to signal her. With he laser, he shined it at her, and with a grunt she kicked the first log. As if a truck smashed into the first one, the group of them came barreling down the hill at high rates of speeds. Some got caught on trees, some went of course, but the majority came straight down and began crushing the Troopmon that were unfortunate (or fortunate) enough to stand in their way.
Being the mindless animals they were, they didn't even both to dodge or move. In fact, some tried to attack the logs to no avail. The MadLeomon were unaffected and simply dodged or punched through them. Much to Viktor's frustration. He then shined the laser on the MadLeomon, there was no way anyone could miss this. And he was hoping Valeria acted soon. Real soon. They hadn't noticed his laser yet, but he was sure that they were going to eventually. And as tough as Viktor was, he wouldn't stand a chance against a MadLeomon.
What made it even worse is that the logs kicked up a lot of residual snow and ash, fogging the area as Viktor shut the laser off. It would lead a straight beam toward him, and give away his position. To add to that, Genesis couldn't see the battle field, so flying now was useless and dangerous. She watched carefully, and listened even more so. While flying was out of the picture, she could still get in the zone quick and do what she had to. But for now, they'd wait for Koneka to do her thing. After all, they already had something attack, maybe this would deter them.

"What's it look like down there?"
"A bunch of rabble, really." Koneka, looking through her lent scope, gave a sigh as Viktor and Genesis gave their assault. The fact that attacks from such an extreme range had any effect at all spoke a lot as to the lack of the intelligence of those gas-mask wearing Digimon. Well, at least things were going alright so far. "Nothing to be concerned of as of yet."
"I see... see Valeria, yet?"
"Any moment now..."
________________________________
Dig through the collapsed mine, they said. It would be easy, they said.
Well, great. It was as Koneka expected, but it didn't make it any less annoying: before the golem seemed to be several feet of packed stone, from Caturamon's army trying to break apart the mine. For several moments now, Valeria had been hoisting boulders aside, or punching through, or otherwise trying to get through this barricade. As a golem, there wasn't a lot of concern for fatigue... still, why did there have to be so much of it? Jeez!
C'mon alread- ah! With a solid punch through, the golem finally saw the light at the other end of the tunnel. Ripping another large rock out of the way, a sizable rock from above glanced off of her helmet. Such a haphazard way of digging would have been suicidal... well, if Valeria was still of flesh and blood, anyway.
Taking a few steps back, and grasping a large boulder in her hand, Valeria gave an internal smirk, as she made the faceless golem charge forward. With a few steps, the momentum carried through, moving her shoulder forward to take the brunt of the damage...
________________________________
... And then, behind the distracted crowd, an explosion of stone and snow kicked up, blasting a nearby Troopmon off of her feet! Still charging forward, the golem threw the rock forth, aiming right for the nearest crony, before pulling a steel sign straight from a street corner! There, she stood, squared off against a MadLeomon.
Finally, the radio hidden in her chest burst to life, with static, and a hiss:
"You have violated this land. Prepare to be destroyed.
Man, you stink at this, Koneka...

Despite the backfires, plan "A" was still on track. Genesis waited as Valera trudged into the village and the Troopmon turned to her, shambling in a mass at the Golem while the Larger MadLeomon started to growl at her presence, warning that they were about to attack. Viktor pulled the range finders from his drop pouch and watched the crowd shuffle to their target. Viktor pulled a laser out and pointed it at a MadLeomon, who he deemed the biggest threat as two more began sprinting at full speed toward Adamon, knocking over the smaller units with leaps that would make even the most agile digimon sweat. The last one started toward Viktor's position, roaring as it too leapt in the air. He rolled to his feet and started for the edge, ready to leap off as the lion digimon grew closer.
But he had no need to leap, Genesis quickly jumped in the air, twisted, and broke a log over it's head. Sending it crashing into a nearby cabin and knocking over several Troopmon. She smiled under the mask as she spoke:
"What would you do without me?"
"Continue the objective. Go, stick with the plan."
She nodded and jumped into the air, keeping low enough to see the crowd of Troopmon and to get an accurate sighting of where the hostages were. With a few simple strokes of her giant brush, she sent ancient symbols into the bulk of them, which exploded on impact. She kept her flight as she continued to do this in different areas, keeping the larger digimon distracted so Viktor could make his way to the hostages and give a signal, after all it would be tough to teleport into somewhere you couldn't see, or at least Viktor assumed.
Genesis dropped down and spun the brush, swiping it across several mob as she spun in the air, doing the same thing as before but with slightly more...showmanship. Viktor continued to the location. With a light step, he crossed the open area where Troopmon were too busy focused on Genesis and likely the now attacking Adamon. All was going well, except for one thing that Viktor made the mistake of forgetting about, and now was staring him in the face. Literally.
The Madleomon.
He thought maybe the Log was enough to kill the damn thing, but it was emerging, and staring at the tamer with fire in it's eyes. Viktor was maybe fifty meters from it, easy jumping range for the monster. And it was gearing up to do just that. Unarmed, and severely out classed, there was little he could do here. Even running wasn't an option, given how close he was. Viktor took everything in, the debris at his feet, the slight dip in the land and the distance. He was going to do something very risky, but he had little choice. It would either work, or make him look like a fool before he died.
Almost as soon as he acted on his plan, the Madleomon jumped out of the smoldering Cabin; smoke and ash dusting off the beast's fur as Viktor dropped to his back and knocked a rotted board into the air with the weight of his fall, which broke on impact upon meeting with the Beast's face. Viktor covered his head with his forearms as he cringed, waiting to be mauled. But to his surprise the plan worked, and the Madleomon was left with a splintered face and confused look. Wondering what just happened. Viktor jumped to his feet and made a break for the Cabin as the Madleomon took notice, and started his jump again. There was no dodging this time, as the beast may be slow, but it isn't a husk. It was going to purposefully jump low, so if he did drop, he'd still end up in the beast's maw. With a tree as support, it pushed off, leaping toward the human with the force of a Mac Truck.
But yet again, Viktor did not meet this force. Instead, Genesis shoulder checked the beast just before it made it to the crosswalk. Sending it flying into yet another Cabin as she looked at Viktor, who was bent over, catching his breath;
"Go. Make sure it is dead this time?"
"Like I said: What would you do without me?"
She pulled a lamp post from the street at dragged it behind her as she did a small hop, then slammed the object into the Madleomon's head. She tried to pull it back, but something was...holding it. The beast caught it in his mouth, and at the price of a few lost teeth, was holding it firmly it it's jaw. Genesis didn't even bother trying to fight it as she simply bent it around and got close to the Digimon. It wouldn't let the pole go for any reason, and that's exactly what Genesis wanted. She pulled it into her and kneed it the jaw, crushing every tooth it's mouth as she then grabbed it by the straps on it's chest and threw it into the crosswalk. She followed it by twsting then leaping in the air, slamming her paintbrush over it's head as the beast burst into data.
Genesis chuckled as she spun the brush and tucked it under her arm; "Fancy enough for you, pops?"
With a roll of his eyes, Viktor continued to the survivors, "You need to stop watching so many movies."
Genesis smiled as she started back to Valeria, clearing out waves of Troopmon like a machete to foliage. Holding a MadLeomon and prompting Valeria to punch it, standing back a little to make sure a fist doesn't punch through here either.
Viktor cursed as his arm refused to work, sighing as that was the price of pile-driving into concrete. He was no doctor or corpsman, but he could guess the injury. With a sigh and a grunt, he pushed open a door, then dropped a road flare and waited for Ami to arrive, hopefully with the doctor. But as the saying goes;
Pile-drive concrete, get a broke acromion. Or something like that.

"Hsssss..."
Oh, who was the cat kidding? From her distance with the scope, Koneka shut off the radio, and gave a sigh. "Now that I see the fight... huh. There's not a single enemy there with an ounce of sense."
"Um... I don't follow?"
Koneka sighed. "The Troopmon are incessant drones that simply walk at their enemy, while the MadLeomon, though dangerous, don't have an ounce of sense to them. Without thought, there's very little way for Valeria to actually be hurt in this sort of fight." Shaking her head, she gave one more glance at the battlefield: "I just hope Viktor doesn't bite off more than he can chew..."
"Hssss..."
Oh, shut up, Koneka! Let me fight! As the Koganemon stared down two Madleomon, both making a straight beeline towards her position, the golem held her position. Squaring her stance, holding the sign like a baseball bat, Valeria gave a powerful swing as the first one tried to leap down on her. It snapped in the follow-through, data leaking fiercely from the beast's nose as it was forced head-first into the dirt next to her.
The second one, though... well, that was going to be more interesting. Hell, this first one wasn't even out of commission yet! Raising an arm, the second beast's fangs locked around her thick hand. In fact, Valeria forced it through, keeping the teeth locked on the metal wrist. The following moment, golden spikes could briefly be seen protruding from its neck. With a second punch to shove it off, the brainless Digimon fell forward like a sack of bricks.
This was... well...
"... Screw the disguise." Turning to face the first target, she grappled once more with the first MadLeomon, who, well... attempted to throw her. This was met with Valeria plucking the struggling Madleomon off the ground, before throwing him back-first to the ground. A simple stomp landed squarely on the chest.
Ah, but the second one was up again. Gripping his neck, for the last few moments of his berserker life, he charged Valeria's back, a powerful shoulder causing her to fall forward. And, once more, she got up, seeing Genesis just a few yards away.
Okay, fine. Yanking a spear out of her left arm, the projectile was thrown at the third-presented MadLeomon, in an attempt to pierce him right through the chest. With that, the golem shook her head:
"This feels like cheating in one of Ami's games. Seriously... unless they get more fancy," Valeria elbowed another Troopmon, collapsing a few feet from them: "I mean, just get Viktor out of here. It'll take ten billion hours, but I can clear this out."

With a brash chuckle, Genesis continued to plow throw Troopmon, who were surprisingly tough resistance wise. She watched them hit walls that would kill most Digimon and take damage that would make even a champion sweat. But these husks...these shells of Digimon were nothing more than that. Without intelligence or anything to guide them, they simply wandered around. Some even attacked street signs and walls. Others walked into fire. But the sheer number of them made up for their lack of intelligence as Genesis finally replied to Valeria:
"And what? Let you have all the fun? Come on, bunny."
But it feel a little off. Why was this so easy? Why leave troops here but make them so blatantly stupid that even a human child could defeat them? This was too easy.
But as she spoke, something began rising from the ashes in the center of the town, something larger than here and...round in shape. It looked like a floating ball with armor around it and antennas sticking out of the sides, was it a Digimon? A machine?
It buzzed and gave a low hum, then focused a blinding light of Valeria, which turned the focus of all the seemingly witless Digimon into focused machines. Which started pouring toward Valeria in the hundreds. As no doubt she would have to deal with this somewhat new threat, the sphere lowered behind some cover and began spinning in place, faster and faster until it gave a small explosion, which created not four...but eight MadLeomon. It literally doubled the number of the beasts through means Genesis did not understand. They followed the leader and went after Valeria.
Genesis growled as she started attacking the sphere. Sending waves of explosive writing and powerful blows from her paintbrush. But to no avail. The sphere stopped the first few words with some sort of shield, but when she got close it didn't stop her. The first blow caused the machine to wail, the second did nothing but completely bounce her brush back, causing her to stumble backwards. She rolled to her feet as she watched the force turn on her, and the blinding light making it impossible to see anything past the source. She was holding her own, for now. But she was no golem, she could only take enough damage before she grew tired and revert forms. Unless, of course, Viktor permitted her to jump to Sakuyamon, which he was very much against, after the whole deal with Valeria.
Viktor cursed as he watched the sphere come up, picking up the flare and chucking it at Valeria to get her attention. If she came he would speak over the violence;
"Give me the radio!"
From there he would tell Ami that the plan changed and that he needed a portal here now. And that it was the only way to pull everyone at once, but they risked bringing an army to their mountain. But honestly, it was a risk he had to take. He watched the Sphere carefully, watching for anything it does and the quirks it had. It was fairly simple in design, but it's patterns were erratic and hard to predict. However, he noticed that when too many troops went down it went down. It had to use energy to create more, and the thing looked as if it was a bunch of other spheres hobbled into one. It's energy was definitely finite.
Viktor would speak to Valeria and Genesis, fairly clearly over the battle:
"It is weak when it recreates soldiers! Kill a few big ones and then close in for the kill!"
Genesis looked to Valeria, then to Viktor, yelling back to him;
"Don't you think it be easier if we were just mega-"
Viktor snapped back; "No! We have yet to try it and you just achieved the form! It could spell disaster!"
Genesis angrily sighed as she punched a MadLeomon into the ground, the stomped on its head.
They had their plan, now all they had to do was act.

"Hm... alright, so its slightly more interesting, anyway."
The sphere coming into existence definitely drew Valeria's attention. At its whim, it seemed, the horde of Troopmon and a new contingency of MadLeomon started to rush towards her position. It was definitely more dangerous, if only for the brute strength that each new infected Digimon brought to the table. However, ripping her spear out of a previous opponent, a quick golf-swing took out another few Troopmon, waiting for the stronger Digimon to approach.
"I can hold, just figure out that sphere!"
That much was true: Valeria's ultimate form, Koganemon, could take an unprecedented amount of physical damage to the main body, with no ill effect. Immediately grappling the first MadLeomon, her faceless helmet glanced over as a flare bounced off of her head. The radio?
"This is hardly the time! Ugh!" Fine! Giving a powerful thrust forward to buy a few feet, the metal hand dug into the golem's chest, ripping out the technology, flinging it towards the human. As a MadLeomon grappled from behind, another spike drove through its gut, the golem turning to face the crowd...
"Got it... jeez." Placing her headset down, Koneka shook her head. "Ami, listen carefully..."
It would probably be a bit further away than Viktor would have liked, but Ami and Koneka did move themselves closer to battle. Unseen and behind a fair bit of cover, they stood back, and kept in contact with Viktor via radio:
"Viktor, we're about fifty yards back, and we're teleporting if it gets too close-"
"They're husks! Load their data, don't give the sphere anything to remake!"
"Noisy cat... easier said then done, they don't disintegrate." Muttering under her breath, she did give a nod to Viktor's suggestion and, for the first time, let forth one of her powerful explosions right in the gut of another MadLeomon.
"Seven on two. Gen, hun... try and break the one in the back's chainsaw before it gets to the humans?"

The snow continued to settle as Genesis panted, the enemies weren't tough, per-say. But the sheer amount of them did make things a little exhausting. Genesis turned to see the MadLeomon rushing Viktor, who was pulling Digimon and human alike into building with his good arm. Valeria called him out; which prompted Genesis to push off a building and into the beast, the sheer force of impact caused him to spin head over heals as she looked to Viktor and nodded, who started focusing on the sphere.
His shoulder throbbed, begged for rest as his body began pumping their endorphins, some might call this shock. But to a sniper I was an opportunity. Most people became delirious and unresponsive when in shock, often times they were surprised at the injury. But others had their body trained, shock was something if done right could be controlled as a pain killer and a little bit of a psychosis. The body reacting made his mind clear and his heart race, snipers called this the "moment of clarity" when your brain could receive information in such a way that you could react. Everyone acted differently, and each it took so much out of you that most people had to be rushed to the ER. But that wasn't an option. Not now.
Viktor's reaction made him feel detached in a mental sense. Like an out of body, he didn't focus on him but rather what was around him. The world seemed slow motion to him as he watched the orb create more, and for a brief second he watched it drop a shield to make more MadLeomon. That was their key. Their saving grace.
One of the Digimon heard something about absorbing the data and took it to heart, absorbing an easily defeated Troopmon and gave a smile.
"I got it! It's eas-"
Right before Viktor's eyes the Digimon exploded into data, which was absorbed into the sphere. Viktor, still shielding himself from the time bomb Digimon, he quickly retorted;
"Do not, I repeat, do NOT absorb them! Ami, we need you down here yesterday! Too many possible casualties, we are leaving! Four dead, ten injured, myself included."
Viktor waited as Genesis continued to plow through the waves of enemies;
"We can handle this, pops. Go get the to safety."
"I am not leaving you here, we will regain our strength and devise a plan. I'm not asking. Cover our asses and then get yours out! Do you understand, child?"
"I can handle this and Valeria isn't even-"
"I said do you understand?!"
Viktor's voice could be heard over the battle, and despite the ambiance of war, silence still fell between them.
Genesis gave a low growl;
"Yes."
Viktor sighed and radioed as Genesis grabbed a MadLeomon and slammed him right in front of Valeria, punching his face over and over with her large fist as she looked up, swinging it's decaying boy into two more MadLeomon and keeping them distracted.
"Go, Valeria, you're a walking shield. Keep close to the group. I can handle this."
As she spoke another wrapped it's arms around her midriff as she widened her stance and stopped his movement. With a slight snicker and turn of her head she kneed it in the stomach. Hard. Causing him to bounce in the air as she followed up with a heavy elbow that dropped him to the ground with an audible thump.
She then zig-zagged to the next two and swift kicked one while the other landed a claw on her arm. She reeled slightly as she grunted and jumped into the air, punching him square on top of the head. She continued to move to one Lemmon after another, backing off only when she got too close to the Sphere.
Viktor couldn't see anything in the blanket of snow, and could only assume that Ami knew where to send the portal.
For once, he hoped she was thinking ahead of him.

"So much for that." Another swing and a miss... but this time, Valeria couldn't put the blame on Koneka's shoulders. Seeing that Digimon simply evaporate was very chilling to the golem, as a matter of fact, but the ultimate couldn't lose focus yet. She 'grit her teeth', so to speak, and dug her heels into the ground to meet the grapple of another Madleomon.
"Gotsu..."
Are you kidding me?!
Right where she dug her heel, Valeria felt a noise echo through her metal frame. Her foot had managed to nick the stone of a buried Gotsumon, who, to this point, was just trying to stay out of the fight.
"I-" Valeria raised a fist, ramming it into the midriff of the MadLeomon, before pulling it back: "-am getting-" and again, the fist dug its way deep into the Digimon, even bringing a contorted face to the husk: "-tired of this!" With one last hook, the husk was blown back, Valeria quickly reaching a fist into the ground, un-rooting the survivor!
"Hey, what are you-"
"Can it."
Oh, Viktor's words were so good to hear for the Digimon. Ami, still from a safe distance with the cat, gave a nod, talking into her Digivice: "Escape will be straight backwards."
And with that, a response was shouted to Viktor, via radio: "Portal's open!"
Even through the blanket of snow, the blue, hanging portal several feet behind Viktor would be shockingly obvious. The first thing to note was the Gotsumon, thrown like an Olympian's hammer, rocketing straight for the hole, back to the shelter. It didn't take long for the cat and Ami to follow suit. As for the rest of them, well, they would have to fall back fast.
Immediately, Valeria stood fast in front of the portal, not intent on letting a single thing through. In fact, the golem wasn't going to be moving from this point, four glowing lights pulsing from the body's back. Valeria would hold for as long as needed, if possible... but, either at the portal's limit of about two minutes, or as soon as everyone else would be back, the four gems would shoot from the golem's back, through the open gate, and close soon after, abandoning the golem behind.
"Ugh..."
Back in their cover, assuming everything went well, a tired rabbit would be held in Ami's arms. Koneka, meanwhile, would immediately be on Viktor's wounded side, beckoning the man to sit: "Don't worry, I won't make our last mistake again. Let me see that arm."
"It felt like punching lead... ugh, I don't think Adamon can sustain that kind of fight..."
"We can complain later, Valeria. If we wait too long to get back, well-"
"We'll lose our only shot."
