A portal opened on another of the desolate islands of the Everfalls. Majin and Shadow walked out, scanning the area for anything of interest... But there was nothing. Which was perfect, this would be the area for Mana and Karin to be trained in.
"Shadow, keep them busy." the white haired tamer said, as the BlackWizardmon manifested his staff and nodded. A champion digimon would be enough, for now. He didn't want to overwhelm the pair just yet. Besides, Shadow had just the right technique in this form to train them.
He would show them how battles usually carried out. This was an unfair world, and they would be witness to this. So hopefully, they would not fall for such traps in real combat.
Social interaction would he left for later. The magician manifested three seals and threw them up in the air - the seals shot over to three different areas on the battlefield, sticking to the ground firmly. As soon as they did, the magician started chanting.
"Great fire of genesis - one of the five great elements from which the world is constructed. Light of blessing which nurtures life, and light of judgement which punishes the wicked. It overflows with calm blessings and with fiery misfortune destroys the cold darkness.
It's name; fire. It's meaning; kill thy enemy.
It's role; the sword!
Show yourself, prove me your might! Ignis!"
The area could be felt turning increasingly hotter. Suddenly, flames erupted from within the sealed area, rising violently up and taking form. A behemot of flames stood in front of Mana and Karin. The construct roared viciously, clenching his fists.
Shadow stepped back. It would be their opponent for the time being. "Mana, Karin. You both ready?" asked the wizard.

As Mana exited the portal, she was now in another deserted island of the Everfalls. As she (and most likely, Karin) got acquainted with this place, she saw both Majin and shadow sone distance in front of them. Seemingly, he was conjuring something, due to all the seals and chant thing. It was really showy, and it seemingly lived up to the show, as an enormous construct of flames rised from the sealed area, clenching its fists while roaring at them.
So, a mere summoned creature was their opponent? Not even Shadow himself? Even if it was flame-based, the girl seemed to be quite dissapointed at the prospect of two digimons versus a summon, but smiled anyway. She'd prove herself that even if she looked young, she had the wits to beat this thing, and maybe then, the truest trial will begin. She gripped her D-3 as a faint green light produced from it and a word appeared on its screen <EVOLUTION>.
The light enveloped Ayaka's Kodamon form, transforming and maturing it until she reached her adult form; Cherrimmon. Going up to perfect would just be overkill, and also... she wouldn't steal the spotlight from Karin, that was for sure.
"I'm ready" the girl nodded as she regarded the flame construct with a calm expression "Bring it on when you feel like it, Shadow-san".

The first time she did when she stepped out is to look at the surrounding area... which turned out to be nothing special. Jeanne has turned off her holosuit beforehand, and now standing in her full height of being a minor angel Digimon. Looks like that Majin aren't going to fight this time... but what chances that he won't strike and appear with his portal to strike them to teach them they're wrong? Karin stared right on the man, but also stared on his partner which has summoned a familiar made of flame.
"...Jeanne..."
"Yes... O Lord, I entrust my fate to you..."
A sword on her left hand, a staff on her right hand. The angel juggled it once, reversing the position of both weapon on her hands. She wielded her weapon dual armed style, her staff above her sword, ready to strike. Jeanne smiled at Ayaka, nodding at her, readying herself to whatever the other Digimon herself wanted to do.
The chants... Karin tried to grasp the meaning behind it. Maybe there's some hidden tricks to it. As they said, knight's role is not for underhanded method. Knight's role is to duel directly. The role 'the sword' can mean that it's simply there to attack, which would be fitting... But, can Shadow change the role so suddenly? She only can guess...

Ignis towered twenty feet above the duo. It remained perfectly still after it's initial show, awaiting Shadow's command. To tell the truth, Shadow hadn't really thought about using any underhanded tactics so far. That would be a lesson learned at another time. He intended to measure their strength first, a wise combatant knew to first test the waters before beginning any sort of real endeavor in battle.
"Mindless, spiritless, scorch with immutable heat!" the magician shouted, as the fiery titan inhaled, then unleashed a stream of napalm-like flames from side to side in front of him.
After issuing the command, Shadow had him and Majin placed a decent distance away from the titan and it's combatants. Ignis was confined to a fifty feet circumference, but he could still manage despite the limited mobility. More so because of his other properties, which the duo was obviously ignorant of so far.
"So what's the plan?" Majin questioned his digimon. Shadow remained focused on the battle, but responded back mentally. "Just seeing what they're capable of. After this, things will get more interesting. Remember when that Snimon attacked us?" Shadow looked at his tamer, receiving a silent nod from the human. They had a couple of past experiences that they could emulate, and hopefully teach the new recruits how most battles flowed.

As shadow began to chant, Ayaka took the cue and separated as fast as she could from Jeanne. Ignis' attacks seemed to be quite slow in comparison to the one of your average digimon, given that they needed to be chanted by its summoner before executed, but after beholding the power of that flamethrower, she couldn't but shudder. Barely escaping the attack's range with a timely jump, the fairy decided to stop understimating the construct's powers.
But she wouldn't be intimidated so easily; she had exactly the move that would make this fight a lot more easier. She quickly stood again and did two quick steps as if she were dancing, finishing it by a quick spin a gesture of her arms; immediately after, thick and grayish rainclouds hovered on the battlefield, dropping and endless stream of thick water droplets in the battlefield. Maybe it'd weaken the construct, or maybe not, who knew. As of now, damage being dished out depended on Jeanne.
Mana, along with Karin, could only watch as the battle unfolded from afar. Ignis' power had rendered her speechless, and he was but a construct made by shadow. She could only wonder what kind of powers the digital magician had at his disposal if this was just one of them.
OOC: Ayaka is using Rain Dance (Calls forth a magical downpour for 3 posts in a 300 mt radius. If it's used during Hailstorm, the weather will change to Snowstorm until the first weather duration finishes. 2-post cooldown after the effect expires). Active Weather: Downpour [Purifies nearby allies, instantly reducing the duration of all Sleep, Paralysis, Confusion and poison effects they would suffer from champion-level or lower digimon by 1 post (Doesn't affect effects already applied) and increases water-based attacks effectiveness. Nature's Call now also heals the target for a Champion-level attack] (3 posts remaining).

Right when the chant started, when Ayaka ran away from her, Jeanne ascended as fast as she can before the attack hits. The heat is terrifying, but there's something more than that. So what's the tactic? She would at first play it safe, but still, the source is from Shadow. She know the most logical thing to do is to aim for the magician, but at the same time, she have no idea what Shadow is capable of. It might be a test, but play along she will do. She'll just attack this summoned beast and scan the situation.
Jeanne tossed her sword to the beast's head. Hit or not, she'll call it back afterward the moment the attack connected, either to the body or to the ground... it's after the reaction from the other party. To immediately goes head on when the enemy could sear her would be dangerous. She's doomed if her wings are burned, afterall...
And right then, Ayaka has casted a huge downpour on the field. She just hoped it can change the situation, even if just for a bit.

Napalm is a difficult substance to control. Despite the rain, the flames kept burning were they fell. Good thing they hadn't allowed themselves to be reached by them.
The rains also fell into Ignis. The construct's regeneration kept him in place; perhaps it had weakened it's function, but not enough. Instead, it caused the area around him to be filled with steam, slightly worsening view. The construct followed Jeanne as she flew away from the flames. Immediately, the Angel digimon threw her sword at the construct's head. The sword impaled on Ignis' face, but... No visible effect could be seen.
"You may think Ignis to be unreliable and not very interesting. That which stands before you has no concept of damage. Go right ahead and attack it and crush it as much as you want. It will fight until it's life cycle is over, or until a force strong enough extinguishes it." said Shadow, smirking under his cloak.
The sword was recalled, and the beast gave out another roar.
"Ash to ash... Dust to dust... Flaming Whip!" the magician chanted, while a whip of flames manifested from within the fiery construct.
Ignis cracked the whip from within the small cloud of steam, aimed straight at it's worst attacker; Ayaka.

That fire was indeed powerful, and Mana was thankful that the flames hadn't touched Ayaka or she'd be in severe problems. Yet the steam provoked by the sudden rain was limiting her vision of Ignis. It affected him somewhat, but still remained strong. Seemingly, the thing was near undestructible, at least according to Shadow's words; so their best bet was to... outlast it? She could totally do that. She just had to wonder how long that guy will stand on its place before crumbling into ash.
That statement seemed to have its quota of truthfulness, now that she had seen how Jeanne's attack hadn't affected him in the slightiest. She heard another of Shadow's chants, but she hadn't interpreted it clearly and began to make the same move than before, as if trying to evade another wave of flames, but realizing too late that it was actually... a whip that was coming for her. It hit her in the chest directly, prompting the fairy to grit her teeth to not to scream. Her vision blacked out for a second due to the pain, but she stood up again nonetheless. The pain was still there, but she wouldn't be defeated by one hit. Concentrating herself again, she made two more steps and spinned, but time time it was backwards. If this rain wasn't bad enough for Ignis... she'd have to up it a notch.
And so, the clouds cooled off, and the rain began to cool along with them too. Now the droplets froze as soon as they made contact with anything, and while for some reason Ayaka and Jeanne to not to be affected by this, Mana knew very well that Karin and her would not, and for that very same reason she grabbed the other girl's wrist and distanced from the battlefield a little more.
Ayaka began to feel the pain of her wounds being less and less bothersome as this freezing rain fell downwards, but she knew that it'd be a temporary thing. Nonetheless, that didn't matter as of now.
OOC: Ayaka is using Hailstorm (Calls forth a magical hailstorm for 3 posts in a 300 mt radius. If it's used during Downpour, the weather will change to Freezing rain until the first weather duration finishes. 2-post cooldown after the effect expires.). Active Weather: Freezing Rain (Same effect as Downpour, but this weather also deadens nearby allies' nerves, supressing all the pain they're feeling while it lasts. Nature's Call will now absorb the next champion or lower-level attack the target would recieve in addition to healing for a champion-level attack) (2 posts remaining).

As she thought, it's not a good idea to just like that slash it without knowing its property. This would mean that she's basically useless in this kind of situation, right? Their situation has turned into reverse. Ayaka is leading with her rain calling skill. However, apparently this is a great mistake. The behemoth attacked her instead. Jeanne gritted her teeth, feeling frustrated that she cannot help... no, wait, she can!
"Ayaka, I'll protect you! Keep doing what you think is right!"
The angel landed right in front of Ayaka before she knocked the ground once with her staff. Golden aura coated her body. The female angel raised her sword, readying herself to block any incoming projectile... or maybe flee with the plant fairy should the familiar tried something funny like bombing them. Her wings are ready afterall. Still... she lacked power... she want more... more than this...

Shadow smirked. Despite the construct's near-invulnerability, it could not sustain itself for too long.
He had hoped to see more from the duo, but it seemed they were taking a tactical approach to the battle. That was excellent, regardless of what he expected. The magician looked at Majin; had it been the white haired human in their place, he would've probably tried to overpower the creature - an ultimate would've probably done the job fairly quickly. He had a more on-hands approach to battle, but he also needed some much needed patience, that these two seemed to have.
"Cast down to hell with your fingers!" the magician commanded. The whip on Ignis' hand died out, but the fiery construct kept on going - he slammed both hands down on the ground towards the pair, releasing 'lines' of rising magma at them before fading itself.
"Despite it's power, Ignis only lasts so long." the wizard said, floating up and getting a bit closer. He held his staff firmly.
"You did good. If you had noticed, however, you could've probably ended the battle faster by attacking the seals." he stated. He was revealing one of Ignis' weaknesses, but perhaps it was fairly obvious that the seals allowed the creature to manifest. Or not. They were Vexus members anyway, and he wanted to let them know that he had placed his trust in them both.
He spun his staff a bit and looked up at the sky. It was pouring. Now that he was in 'battle', Majin would get wet behind him. The tamer crossed his arms. It was a bit cold and annoying, but he would be fine. Nevertheless, Shadow raised a barrier around him, to keep him dry.
He suddenly stopped spinning his staff and clicked the fingers of his free hand - several canisters popped into existence, falling near Ayaka and Jeanne. They released copious amounts of smoke around them, perhaps threatening to choke them, at the very least, obscuring their sight.
Oh, but Shadow had no problem with that. His cloak covered his face, helping him breathe a bit. But his Aura Sense virtually nullified the obscuring of vision. With it, he was able to pinpoint their exact location, with or without his eyesight. Some other digimon had something similar, yet more natural; perhaps by scent or sound. His was mystical in nature, not too common, but it meant that opponents were rarely geared against it.
"Another lesson; perhaps a tasteless one. We once came across a Snimon. The bug wasn't too bright, but it seemed that in some sort of epiphany, it chose to target Majin first." Shadow said, floating around the duo. Around them, above them, behind them.
"If a digimon has a tamer, a fight becomes simpler. Take out the digimon's 'powercell', and the digimon will lose most of it's power. Believe it or not, digimon often neglect to properly defend their tamers. They become too focused in battle, leaving their human partner practically defenseless. This is a vulnerability that not all evils in this world choose to exploit, for whatever reason it may be; some type of twisted honor, or perhaps a lack of wit."
He stopped behind where their own tamers stood. "I know where your tamers are at. Do you?" he added.

This was her current's form's limit. It was the routine, but they'd weather Ignis' attacks anyway. Replicating the steps of her most powerful ability, a faint deep blue aura sorrounded the bodies of both digimons and humans, protecting them partially of any oncoming attacks while also fully healing Ayaka's wounds.
And so, after that last-ditch attack, Ignis dissapeared. With Shadow explaining about the glaring weakness the construct had and shortly after creating several canisters that rained to then. Running again, she tried to get away from their radius, and she had achieved it with mixed results. The smoked undoubtedly blinded her, and she was coughing a little, but the area was small enough that she could exit them without that much of a problem. The problem was that she didn't see Jeanne anywhere close, but she was somewhat protected now, so it didn't worry her too much. Feeling a little dizzy because of the gas inhaled. She looked at Shadow, somewhat puzzled by his question, yet, the answer was simple. Even at that great distance, she could feel the steps of her partner and Karin. She was attunned to her natural surroundings, and while that connection could weakened or severed altogether if the natural forces were nonexistant in the area, that wasn't the case right here, at least.
"Of course I do. I am not a front-line battler, Shadow-san, and as such, I have to have a good view of how things change while a fight progresses. While my observational skills may need some further training due to not noticing how Ignis was powered but my partner's welfare is above anything else at all times. You've noticed it already, haven't you? No further words are needed, then. We had... similar experience ourselves, actually, when we fought against one of those Deva digimon. The thing just went straight to any human it saw, completely disregarding the digimons that tried to fight against him, but I digress; we are supposed to fight against you now?".

"Tsk!"
The moment Ignis summoned lava and then followed with the canister with strange tricks, Jeanne quickly flapped her wings rapidly to shoo off the smoke while at the same time escaping. Certainly it did hurt her eyes a bit, but not enough to blind her more than several seconds. Now that the smoke is coming, she totally understand where this would go to. Magicians have sort of tricks where they'll try to outsmart the physical ones like her (and she understood that this is the very basic thing.)
Shadow apparently can teleport around, and for her, this is not good, which means that he might be able to do surprise attack, no matter where. She quickly come to her partner's side after a quick whistle on her part, which quickly replied by her tamer's own whistle. She quickly goes to where the sound came from, right when Shadow teleported behind her. Karin was about to kick the sneaky magician Digimon if not for Jeanne who quickly stopped it and slashed where Shadow is.
She expected him to teleport away, but if he doesn't... well, most probably it'll only graze him.
"...One thing which is wrong in this case is that you're about to kick a Digimon, Mistress... it might risk you to lose a leg. Only do that when you're properly armored."

Just to clear things up, not sure where you got the impression that Shadow was teleporting; he's just flying around you. Hmm. They seemed to be more prepared than he expected. The canisters fell in between them, releasing the smoke, but they were quick to come out of the cloud. If Shadow had wanted it to remain in place, he could've manipulated the air so the cloud would move with them, but that wasn't the point. The point was to distract them while he moved in closer to their tamers, something he did. Had he been an aggro, he had virtually an open line towards the more vulnerable humans. Karin looked like she was about to kick Shadow when he was just finishing explaining, earning her a raised eyebrow from the magician. He could do no further, however, as her digimon was quick to retaliate. Jeanne slashed at him, her blade meeting his barrier. The barrier expanded from being basically skintight, to extending out four feet around Shadow in almost an instant, surely bashing Jeanne and her blade away, akin to a shield bash. It would cause minimal damage, but still. He looked around him. Ayaka was nearby, so was Mana. Jeanne stood next to him, and so was Karin. Majin was on the other corner, staring silently. The BlackWizardmon floated up, pointing his staff down at the puddles of water in which they all stood. He could unleash an electrical spell and do away with them all, but he didn't mean to injure them like that. "Effortless water, break your silence! Ice!" he chanted, and freezing winds blasted off from his staff, pointing down at an area in between them. While not centered at either girl, the winds would flash freeze the water, possibly tethering them to the ground a bit. It wasn't like it rained a lot, though, so they could get out of it easily. But then, the floor would be very slippery. He deliberately chose not to unleash the ice spikes in the spell, for fear of impaling the humans. "I could've chosen to electrify the ground in which you all stand instead. But a slippery floor will work. The environment can be turned into a powerful weapon if you know how to properly manipulate it." the magician said.

They were supposed to fight against the magician now? Ayaka didn't know how powerful he was, as she had only seen Ignis fighting, but he had now seen the full extent of her current form's power, even if he seemed to not to be currently aware of them. She had to admit, too, that even Jeanne's enhanced attack had been quite uneffective, but this time, the magician would be up to a surprise, or at least Ayaka hoped so.
The freezing rain quickly devolved to its last and less powerful form, a hailstorm. Now thick and blunt shards of ice were falling from the sky. They'll probably be a nuisance to Shadow, impairing his vision and probably forcing him to make a barrier to not to let them encumber him.
"As I said, the humans are not umprotected, Shadow-san. And while I got to say that the electricity would have been effective, your current choice of attack was somewhat... poor". After all, Jeanne could fly, so the slipperiness wouldn't affect her and Ayaka... Ayaka was just prepared to all types of terrain. Adapting her 'feet', she formed two sharp growths just under them, resembling ice skates. Sliding gracefully on the battlefield, she made a couple of movements, and once again, Jeanne's body was enveloped in energy, but this time, instead of only raising her attack and precision, it'd also increase her speed dramatically due to the effect of the hailstorm.

"Kuu...!" being shieldbashed while she's only meaning to graze him is a different thing altogether. Jeanne's sword flies from her hand because of the sudden magical barrier acting. The Digimon too pushed backward, but she quickly backflipped midair and summoned her sword before it fell to the ground. The magician sure have a lot of tricks in his arsenal, doesn't he? However, the next thing that is happening is the water frozen solid. Karin seem to be planted in the ice slightly, something that she begrudgingly complies. If she get out of it, most likely that she'll have problem standing with her current shoes. Not to mention, if she run away, most likely it'll be the same, so... maybe being around is the best course of action.
Meanwhile, hearing Shadow talks about manipulating the environment, Jeanne smiled. "Yes, now that you said it, probably what I'll do next would amuse you... or maybe not? Let's just see. Now..."
Thanks to Ayaka's boost, Jeanne gained idea. She stood on the tip of her metal boot, flapping her wings. before long, she flaps it and use it like a booster for her ice-skating like movement. The combined effect of of the wings and the skating maybe would do good... and this is where she'll act...
Coating her greaves in flame, Jeanne could feel the burning sensation, but that'll be enough. The digimon launched a jet of flame from it and raises faster to Shadow before doing a horizontal sweeping kick with leg coated with holy flame that would definitely burn if not evaded or guarded against.
