Job Name: lost Civilization
Payment: Bits
Dust. All that Elson could see as he moved ahead. This was a terrible idea, they had no good reason to be here. Okay, fine, they could use the payment, but still...it didn't seem right. The storm, the violent sandstorm that was hitting them ever since they passed through that sign that spelled "... City", the word before "city" having been anhialated by some kind of burning. Elson was curious about it at that point, so he kept moving on, especially since they had just been offered a job, they would be payed to search some dusty ruins. The buyer, an injured Mummymon, moved ahead, while Elson and his team would go behind behind and assist in any way possible. But then...this sandstorm, that seemed to be there just to stop them, so violent and one directional it was. Elson had joked about it, the Mummymon replied that if a sandstorm was trying to stop them, then they were on to something important.
After a couple hours (at least) of wandering lost, they aribed at a place made from some kind of rock. Maybe it was the city the mummymon spoke of, an ancient place that guarded countless misteries and whose parasimon-made falga could resist even the wildest storms, as proven by some of those who could be seen above the wall now that the storm was calming down.
"We're in the city!" the mummymon claimed. "Now we just have to find that crypt. Let's move. You feeling alright kid, those storms can really shake someone."
"Nah, I'm fine. That storm was a kid blowing sand in the beach for me." Elson lied, to conceal his true worryness about the possibility of them getting lost when turning back. Fighting, that was something Elson and his partners were actually getting pretty good at. But struggling against the elemnts? That could take way more than just his tactics and his digimon's skills.
The Mummymon smiled at him in a creepy way and then moved on to find the crypt it seeked to explore, whistling along the way.

They eventually arrived at the so-called "ancient grave with hidden treasures and misteries beyond imagination". That was how the mummymon had described it. Yet all Elson could see was a bunch of piled rocks ahead of him, which was even more disappointing than what he had expected it to be.
"First things first. Can you help me get past the door?" The mummy requested. "Just pull up the rock."
"Which one? Why can't we just break through it?" Elson asked before coughing due to the snad that entered his throat when he spoke. This was really annoying.
"Insulent child! How dare you?..." The mummymon complained upset, leaving Elson to stare confused at him. "The one right in front of us. This is a grave they're ornamented. A single lost word and we may never find the meaning. We have to be carefull."
Elson nodded and re-loaded Silversteamdramon and Drimogemon, by raising his fusion loader.
"Ok guys, you heard him. That rock right there up, I'll give you a hand if you need." Elson ordered the digimon as the two converted into their own beings after coming out of his fusion loader as flashes of green light.
Elson and his partners walked towards the door and with some enormous effort they pulled up the rock slowly, between the three of them. The Mummymon bowed and with a single hand effortlessly pushed up the rock beyond the reach of Elson and his partner's arms, this way proving the mummy was little more than lazy. Yet he was paying them, which ment it didn't matter all that much. Elson, Silversteamdramon and Drimogemon had to run inside to avoid getting smashed by the rock, yet they managed.
The mummymon opened a candle he had stored and moved along looking at the carved walls of this grave. Elson and Silversteamdramon were bored, but Drimogemon engaged the mummymon on a can't about graves, archeiology and underground architecture.
On a turn, however, things began to get interesting.
"Hello." A deep voice said behind the group. Drimogemon and the mummymon screamed their kings out at the shadowy figure, Silversteamdramon drew out his sword and Elson his fusion loader.

The digimon ahead of them gigled a bit, the sound echoing in the walls of the grave in a creepy way.
"There's no need for alarm my friends." The digimon said.
"And you are?" Elson asked, angried by the digimon's attitude.
"My name's wizardmon. I am a researcher, just like you..." The misterious digimon began.
"Hey, I'm the only researcher here, well, except for you. They're my assistants." The Mummymon interrupted. Elson and Silversteamdramonboth felt the need to kick the mummymon for that comment, but they refrained themselves. Afterall, they were here for the payment and they wouldn't have come this far and loose it because the payer was an idiot.
"Hm...Then you have excellent assitants, may I say. A xros team! Maybe I can accompany you?" The wizardmon requested.
"But of course! It's nice to have intelligent company fir once..." The mummymon replied as Elson and Silversteamdramon were about to protest.
And so they continued exploring. The wizardmon kept staring at them for some weird reason, causing Elson to hold on tight to his fusion loader and Silversteamdramon to his sword. Of course, the wizard digimon still answered some of the mummymon's questions, quickly and precisely, yet still with a misterious tone to those answers, like if wanted to spread information but not too much of it. One thing was for certain: tensions were high.
Then they arrived at this weird gate door, carved in stone and decorated with gold and iron. The ornaments had all kinds of weird shapes, some kind of ancient language in Elson's opinion.
The first to try to open it was Silversteamdramon. Then him with Drimogemon's help. They were still unable to force the door to open. Elson tried to aid and even pulled out Tinkermon to help, with no success. The mummymon also attempted to aid, but even with all of them trying their best, the door wouldn't budge.
"Myabe, I can try to help." The Wizardmon, who had been watching them with curiosity proposed. He approvhed the door and got one hand on it "Magical Game!"
The wizard disappeared with a burst of light and moments later, the door began to open on it's own. Silversteamdramon and Elson would have questioned how he did that, but they knew some digimon had pretty especiallized moves.
The Mummymon, on the other hand, didn't seem to care all that much. It stared at a long wooden coffin, decorated like the door (in gold and iron) with a large greedy smile.
"Finnaly!" the mummy said "Let's open this one!".

"No, wait!" the Wizardmon yelled , raising his hand towards the group who was attempting to open the coffin.
"Why should we wait?" The mummymon asked "I need to see what's inside quickly."
"You don't understand..." The Wizardmon began. This was the drop of water for Elson.
"You're right. We don't understand. Who are you, really? You're not some random guy we encounter, this was a sealed grave and you just HAPPENED to be around that corner? I don't buy it, not one bit of it, especially not after seeing that little trick of your's at the door." Elson told the Wizardmon with a clearly angry tone, frowning his head "So what is it? You're trying to protect what's inside that coffin? You better explain fast, because I'm really loosing patience here."
"The only thing I'm trying to protect are YOUR ungrateful lifes!" The Wizardmon shouted. "If I had the shots, you could open the grave, you'd have my full support...but my order doesn't think that way, unfortunatly. They'll kill you if you open that."
The group was shocked. They looked upon the coffin, worried. Maybe they really shouldn't open...bang! The coffin wqas burst open by the mummymon, who hadn't even been paying attention to what was going on or being said Silversteamdramon got really pissed. This ifiot of a mummy digimon might have just killed them all by opening the coffin. The contents better be good.
The mummymon pushed the opened part aside and it fell to the ground, echoing in the grave as it fell into the rocky ground.
"What is this?" The Mummymon complained in horror when he saw the contents of the coffin: books. Tons of them. He grabbed some a lifted them up and down, as if trying to judge their value by their weight. "Well, I think I'll still be able to sell them for a good price."
"No, you can't sell them!" the Wizardmon complained, again shouting. At that point the cave shook, as if there was bring a tremendous earthquake.

It was madness. As soon as the tomb began shaking, little bits of dust and sand falling fron the craks on the walls, the Mummymon took off, screaming like a scared child, even bursting the entrance in his way out. Elson facepalmed as Tinkermon and Drimoegmon began to panic and scream too, while Silversteamdramon and Wizardmon complained and argued between themselves.
"Whi do you think you are to..." Was one if Silversteamdramon's questions.
"You are an ignorant! You fail to understand!" Was about what Wizardmon answered to every question posed. It was starting to angry Silversteamdramon and Elson. This was no time to act "misterious". This was the time to tell them once and for all, what on earth was going...
A cloud of white dust speared from thin air with a loud noise, followed by three new digimon, each reassembling wizardmon but with white cloaks and a different staff.
"We finnaly found you, Wizardmon" The middle one said. "What were you doing this time? Robbing tombs? How appropriate to see a heretic steal from a dead, desrespecting a grave. We shall end you today. And all scum that tries to help you or be helped by you." The would-be-Wiazardmons raised their staffs together each pointing in a single direction. "Crystal Barrage!"
A wave of ice crystals surged and began flying in all directions, or at least, all directions ahead of the white wizardmons. That was, including the direction Elson and his "army" were at too.
"My general!" Silversteamdramon shouted, getting between Elson and the crystals with a jump, several of them hitting him. The machine landed on Elson's arms. His other partners and the wizardmon were also hit by the crystals, all hitting the walls with the impact's strengh. They needed to run.
"Tinkermon! Use your powder!" Elson commanded. The fairy got up and quickly flied to the digimon.
"Fairy Powder!" She yelled, catching the white wizards by suprise. They clearly didn't expect such a feeble-liking digimon to be the one that would actually attack them. With this, they were hit by the powder, two of them beggining to crawl around before regressing into their in-training forms.
"Time, to run people!" Elson ordered. The rest of the team and Wizardmon nodded, starting to run. Yet, there was still one of those who attacked them left.
"No, you'll not escape again, Wizardmon. We'll get you today, or may I never be worthy of my name, Sorcermon! Crystal Barrage!"
Anither Wave of crystals flew towards them and hit the Wizardmon on the back. He fell down, clearly having been wweakened by something previous to this encounter, as it seemed the misterious digimon was now unable to stand on his own. A stare from Elson was all it took for Tinkermon to place Wizardmon on the back of Drimogemon, making him the second digimon to take a lift on that runaway, as Silversteamdramon was being carried by Elson.

They kept running, praying to remember where they had turned before, doing their beat to follow the right path back. They took some time, and between that and the angry complains and curses that the Sorcermon was shouting behind them, the group was beggining to loose hope. Tinkermon remembered her choice of coming with Elson and his team, instead of stayin with the Swannmon in the village of begginings to take care of all those cute little babies, and she was really starting to regret it. Silversteamdramon was angered for this feeling of uselessness that invaded him for having to be carried by xros general due to his injuries. Drimogemon was simply tired, tired of running and tired of having to carry the wizardmon. Elson was worried. Did his need for money drag the whole group to their deaths?
Yet, they spotted something they all thought they might as well forget about: light. The sun's light. They picked up the pace running towards it, only to stop when they saw what was guarding the precious exit: another Sorcermon.
"You shall not pass!" the white wizard shouted at them.
"ThunderBall!" Wizardmon shouted back, lifting his hand with some effort as a ball of eletricity was formed in it and shot at the Sorcermon, hitting the white wizard. The digimon was knocked back and Elson took the oppurtunity to order his team to move out of that tomb, which could soon become theirs. The order was folowed without question, as the Sorcermon tried to feel the world around him with his hands, blinded.
They ran a bit more until they were no longer capable of it. Exhausted, they all tried to catch their breath, thinking it was over. However, they were proven wrong by a mocking laughter, which set them on alert. Three of the Soccermon revealed themselves from widin the ruins of a nearby house, the middle one clapping his hands.
"You know what, my general?" Silversteamdramon began, standing and drawing his sword "This idiots have taken one step too far. I'm tired of running. Let us show them who their messing with."
Elson liked at his partner, determination shining even through Silversteamdramon's laser eyes. It was time to put the wizards in their place.
"Yeah." He simply stated, unpocketing his fusion loader and raising it onto the air "Silversteamdramon, Drimogemon, Dig-fusion!"
The device shined, and so did the two named partners before they melded into one, Silversteamdramon-D.
"Circle of Steam!" The xros yelled, before digging into the ground.
"What? Running away again? How much of a coward are you. This isn't even..." The middle Sorcermon began, being interrupted by a geiser erupting between him and Elson. Then another one and then another one, and so on, circling the three Sorcermon's completly "What is this trickery? I..."
The Sorvermon was interrupted once more by the exploding ground benath them, raising all the thre white wizards up into the air. They were clearly angered, hatred showing in their eyed as they pointed their staff at Elson's digimons and the Wizardmon.
"Ice Lock!" All three Sorcermon shouted together, a blue beam being shit from the staff of each one and freezing one of the digimon on Elson's side. The Sorcermon slowly floated down, pointing their staff at the frozen digimon once more "Crystal Barrage!"

As the crystals flew towards his digimon, Elson knew they were screwed. Afterall, they just pissed a whole pack of champions, and he couldn't make more than one. Even with Wizardmon, they were still outgunned AND in numerical disadvantage. Nonetheless, however, Elson would have to do something...even if it was just for the sake of living a few more minutes.
"Xros Open! Silversteamdramon, Tinkermon, digi-fusion!" Elson shouted, riaisng his fusion loader up in the air. Immediatly Silversteamdramon-D escaped the ice by spliting into it's two components, while Tinkermon escaped it by fusing with Silversteamdramon, forming Silversteamdramon-T. But there was still one digimon trapped in the ice:Wizardmon. They couldn't just let the wizard get straight out hit by all those crystals or he'd die, and they wouldn't let that happen, despite all the trouble the misterious digimon had given them, he still did try to warn them.
"Eletrical Rain!" Silversteamdramon-T shouted as he got in front of the frozen statue that Wizardmon had become. Eletrified polen arised from the xros's wings, before shot in various directions to attempt to block off the Sorcermon's attacks, yet despite the champion's best efforts, several crystals still manged to pass, hitting Silversteamdramon-T, Wizardmon and almost Elson as well. The ice broke as it was hit by the crystals, and Elson caried wizardmon with him behind a rock. Angered and injured, Silversteamdramon-T jumped ahead into the air, flying towards the Sorcermon's. "Memory of Weakness!"
"Sorcery Barrier!" The Sorcermon yelled, ahuge blue barrier appeared in front of them, kicking back Silversteamdramon-T onto the dusty floor as he impacted it. The fusion split, leaving Tinkermon and Silversteamdramon lying ther, barely able to move. Silversteamdramon tried to stand with great effort, only to get kicked back by a Sorcermon. "I expected your allies to be able to do more than this. It suprises me that you've come this far alive, Wizardmon." He mocked.
Behind the rock, Elson was trying to figure what to do.
"Damm. We need more power. But...Silversteamdramon is not ready for ultimate xrossing yet. Wy are this Sorcermon after you, Wizardmon?"
"I musn't..." The wizard began
"No. No mistery now. I want answers. We're dying to protect you, we deserve at least the truth." Elson interrupted. This was too much. His team was in a suicidal battle and this digimon thought it was best to hide precious information? Oh no, no he wouldn't. Elson expected suprise, anger, an attempt to fight back...but suprisingky the wizardmon nodded.
"Very well. I am being hunted by my order, for I tried to learn the secrets of digivolution on all it's forms. In my seach, I stumbled upon hidden misteries and ancient secrets which my order had burried and now they intent to delete me to prevent me from sharing any more knowlege with the world, at least of the kind that they didn't want the world to know about." Wizardmon revealed. Elson looked above the rock. His partners were being kicked by this oppressors. Freedoom was something valuable for Elson. And they were not only taking it away, they were harming people to do so, his people. He felt so powerless, he just wished he could do something. "Elson, I normally wouldn't have done this, as it will strive of my champion power, make me weak as a rookie, but...I will go into your fusion loader. With my knowlege of digi-fusion, I will be able to help Silversteamdramon hold an ultimate xros."
For a moment Elson was amazed, considered the offer. But he knew this was no time to debate. His team needed him. He nodded and jumped from the rock with Wizardmon.
"You're ready Silversteamdramon?" Elson asked raising his fusion loader.
"My, my general,..." Silversteamdramon said, realising what was about to happen. He nodded back. The Sorcermon were laughing thinking Elson was about to try another champion xros.
"Ok. Silversteamdramon, Drimogemon, Wizardmon, Digi-fusion!" Elson cried out, a burst of light being emanated from his fusion loader. The mentioned partners turned to light to, mixing in the air ahead. A really tall figure began rising ahead, probably several times Elson's size. The light began to fade, revealing a robot-like digimon ahead of him. His shulders had Drimogemon's and Wizardmon's heads, and his chest Silversteamdramon's. One arm was holding a staff while the other had a drill. This xros had a cloak, a cool head and was really big. The Sorcermon took a few steps back, obviously suprised and a bit scared.
It was ShowTime.

It was on. From another white cloud, the Sorcermon that they had blinded appeared and joined the rest of his kind. Together obviously afraid, they pointed their staffs to the new xros in an act of defiance.
"We shall not allow this to continue!" One of the Sorcermon shouted "Crystal Barrage!" they yelled together. Crystals flee from their staffs once more and Silversteamdramon-WD was quick to act. Lifting the staff to his right, the xros swiped it through the crystals, knocking the Sorcermon into a nearby building with most if the cyrstals, despite part of the attack having hit, leaving some dents on the staff and legs ofsilversteamdramon-WD. Then he pointed his own staff at the white wizards.
"Sunflare Revenge!" the fusion shouted, a beam of sunlight flying to the Sorcermons and exploding on them, having themm cross the wall into the building by breaking it.
"Ice Lock!" Sorcermon shouted, shooting a freezing beam at Silversteamdramon-WD, who in response hurled his staff ahead of himself, having it be frozen in his place. Then the xros raised his left arm.
"D.I.N.A.M.I.T.E. Cannon!" He screamed, the drill changing into a hot orange before being launched at the building, exploding. Between the massive explosion that occured and the collapsing building, the Sorcermons were converted into raw data, which flew into the air with explosion's fires. Elson would have seen it, taken pleasure from it, if not for the fact that he was distracted.
During the fight, he had noticed something in the ground. A set of books, taken from the tomb. The Mummymon had obviously stolen them. It was time to get them back, they belonged to Wizardmon.
"Dilbersteamdramon-WD, can you take us to the Mumymon?" Elson ordered.
"Sure thing, my general." Silversteamdramon-WD agreed.
Some distance away was a happy mummymon. He had offered a kid and his partners some money tfor helping in the dig-site, but turns out a band of Sorcermon's wasn't too happy about the tomb being broken into. The Mummymon would let them have the xros general as a compensation, as they would kill him, but would also have a nasty suprise when they found their precious books were missing. They had to be worth something in the market, right? Besides, he just got away, alive and not having to pay that kid one bit...or so he thought.
All of the sudden, a giant machine and a human appeared right before his very eyes, out of thin air. By the looks on their faces, they were not happy, and mummymon guessed what they wanted. With a sad expression, he handed over the books and the money, before departing. The bad side? No money this day. The god one? He was still alive, not having been killed by the Sorcermons he angered or the does general he deserted.
