Sanoske chuckled a bit as Crystal gave her explanation as to what Pure would do when he would tell him that he was dating Crystal. He was also once more reminded about how little he really knew about him. Last they saw each other Pure was still sort of distrusting of the Gazimon. And with that bit of friction between them they never got to know each other beyond the fact that Sanoske tried to steal food and was relatively prone to have seizures.
Relaxing on the beach or in the nightclub sounded like neat ideas. He'd be more than happy to spend some nice alone time with her to relax.
Unfortunately, Crystal was starting to worry again. But Sanoske was still confident.
^As far as we know, that Hylden is still keeping Pure relatively safe, if captive. Whatever source Ghost had gotten her info from, there was nothing that would suggest otherwise.
As for when we do meet that Hylden... I trust that Ghost would be able to aid us greatly. Whatever happens, we will just have to plan as we go and hope Ghost can return Pure to you.
And... to be honest I do not want to think about failing. I could not live with myself if I was certain I could not get Pure back for you.^

"Just... If by some chance we aren't able to succeed, please don't beat yourself about it Sanoske. I don't know what I will do if you were not by my side either anymore." Crystal told Sanoske when he told her that he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he was certain they wouldn't be able to get Pure back. The last thing she wanted was to end up losing Sanoske as well.
There was then a brief moment of pause as she gathered her thoughts before speaking once again. "I'm sorry. I'm just... Worried what could happen is all. There are so many things that could end up happening during these next few days, and we still have no idea who this Hylden actually is or why he even kidnapped Pure in the first place. I dunno. Just how little we may actually know about what's going on scares me."

^I... I am sorry for being selfish. If you do lose your brother... not saying it will happen, but if it happens, I will remain by your side.
I know you are worried, but really, we should concentrate on getting Pure back, not if we fail. No one needs reason to give up unless we are certain he can't be saved. As for information... I will have to talk to Ghost. I want her to tell us more about this 'source' of hers. Maybe it will ease your mind a bit.^
They returned to the campsite, where Ghost had gotten the fire set up for them.
"Hey, welcome back. With plenty of fish too! Oh this breakfast is gonna be pretty good, huh?!
^Uh... Ghost... I have something to ask you... ^

"Yeah. Your right." She agreed. She should focus on getting Pure back, and not what would happen if they fail. Yet the fact that they could fail remain there in the back of her mind. Constantly reminding her what she could end up losing if she doesn't save her brother.
They soon make it back to the campsite where Ghost has a fire already set up for them. Crystal jumped down from Sanoske's back as he told Ghost that he had something to ask her. In all honesty, Crystal wanted to know about Ghost's source as well, yet she could never bring the subject up herself. It just felt wrong asking Ghost about something like that since she's been helping them so much. Here's hoping that Sanoske may be able to get a straight answer from their third ally.

"What did you want to ask? Judging by the looks of things, it seems pretty important."
^What is the source of the information you had received. I have been curious for a while.^
The Shoutmon looked at them, seemingly unfazed for a moment. But she looked down.
"I can't tell you. I'm not allowed to."
^This is not the time for games, Ghost.^
"I'm not playing around. I was told not to reveal who my source was to you. If it's a trust issue, believe me, my source is reliable."
^Ghost, why are you withholding information from us?^
"While I do trust my source, I had info withheld from me as well. Look, Mistress talked to the source, but Mistress knew she didn't get everything. I was told not to tell you because neither I or Mistress had all the info ourselves. If I told you, it would complicate matters.
We're so close, guys, I can feel it...
...
Ghost stood up suddenly and looked at a direction. She had relaxed herself beforehand, enough to sense out if any Hylden were nearby. Her ability to sense them wasn't as good as Mel's or Vetina's, but she certainly felt something... "I can feel it!
^What's going on!?^
"I can feel a Hylden off in the distance! Come on!"
Abruptly, Ghost transformed into her Arukenimon form and headed off, followed by Sanoske and, hopefully, Crystal who should still be on his back.

((Just a note. Crystal had gotten off of Sanoske's back in my last post))
Crystal was afraid Ghost would say something like this. Not only was Ghost actually keeping something from them, but she refused to share the information with them. How could that information possibly complicate matters? Wouldn't just knowing that fact alone complicate things even more then it already has?
Well Crystal didn't have much time to really think about it as Ghost feels a Hylden in the distant and ran off in her Arukenimon form. Crystal, who had already climbed off Sanoske to help prepare breakfast, quickly moved to grab onto some of Sanoske's fur as he began to run off so she wouldn't be left behind. She hated to do that to Sanoske, for it would probably hurt, but she had no idea they would suddenly be running off like this. If she did, she wouldn't have gotten off of him in the first place.
Mel looked up from his work as he noticed the blips on the monitor showing that someone was coming straight this way. It seemed he was going to have to buy himself some time after all. Very well then.
The Terriermon picked up some type of gun-like device as he left his lab. He never was able to test it before, but now it didn't seem like he had a choice. It should work though. He was the one that made it after all. And if it didn't, then that will be the end of all his hard work.

Sanoske didn't mind the tugged fur. It was hardly a pinch, but in the grand scheme of things it was made more irrelevant considering that Ghost had sensed out a Hylden. This could be the one that took Pure! If so, there was no time to waste.
Ghost did regret having to be vague about her source. Saying it was Vetina would bring up more questions, she felt, than answers. And said questions weren't anything she was prepared to answer. But hopefully she could reveal what she knew once they caught up to that Hylden.
They quickly came up to a small town. It seemed quite dead, as no one was around, and the few buildings there were were small and seemingly unused. But there was one particular building Ghost went to. A smallish brown one furthest away from the rest of the town.
Ghost stopped about 30 feet from the building, followed by Sanoske. She could feel him nearby... and chances are he could as well... was he waiting for them?

While Sanoske might have not mind the tugged fur, Crystal didn't exactly have fun on this ride. It proved to be quite the difficult experience hanging on to Sanoske's side when he ran at full speed. There were a few times that Crystal felt like her grip was slipping, and she feared what would happen if she did let go. Fortunately she didn't as they finally stopped in a small ghost town.
"Note to self. Never try that again." She said as she let go to hug the ground for a second, catching her breath in the process. She wasn't even running like her two companions were and she felt like she was completely out of breath, that was how hard it was to hang onto Sanoske during all this.
The door to the brown building opened to reveal a familiar Terriermon. He left the building with a smug look on his face as he looked at the small group that had came to stop. "I was wondering when you two would finally show up. You definitely took your time, didn't you?" Mel said as his gaze then met with the Hylden, "I guess your the one they decided to grab in order to stop me. I must admit, your not as powerful I expected you to be."
Crystal looked up as she heard the familiar voice. "Pure..." She said in a soft voice as she picked herself off the ground. After all this time, she was face to face with her brother once more.

Mel finally revealed himself. As Ghost figured, he was waiting for them to come. Sanoske shot him a glare, but the both of them probably already knew that Sanoske couldn't do anything to Mel at the moment. But he was ready to do anything he needed to do if it meant saving Pure.
Ghost rolled her eyes at Mel at his remark over her power. At this point, since she was already here, and that her Hylden abilities work best in this form, she reverted to her Super Mega form, HyldenImpmon. Her demeanor was serious; she wasn't going to let another Hylden have his way with a host.
"I just didn't want to scare you off before I got too close. You're not exactly in my class, so how about you get out, or I'll pull you out. And don't think you can run. I'll catch up to you no problem..."
A smokey sphere formed in one of her gloved hands. Of course, most of her moves like this won't directly hurt either Mel or Pure, but disorient.
"I know how long it'll take for a strong Hylden to mutate a host. You aren't nearly as strong as the last one I saw, so no games."

A smirk grew on the Terriermon's face as Ghost made her claim. "Yes. We should get down to business, shouldn't we?" He said to the Hylden as he revealed a ray gun like object that he's been hiding behind his body. He then quickly fired a beam straight towards Ghost, that, if it hit, would start to greatly weaken her.
Crystal had no idea what to do as she saw her brother's body pull a gun and fired it at Ghost. Could this possibly be the end of what they worked so hard to achieve?

It probably wouldn't be called hubris that made Ghost not evade the beam as she walked over to Mel. She was a Super Mega. He was in a Rookie's body. For all intents and purposes his attack should not effect her. But that gun was another thing entirely.
Ghost reflected on this as the beam sapped her energy, collapsing onto her knees. She wasn't in pain... but she felt what could be best described as extreme discomfort.
Sanoske jumped in front of the beam to shield her, unsure of its properties but knowing that Ghost was their only shot at getting Pure back. The beam, however, was anti hylden in nature, and thus didn't effect Sanoske. Noticing this, and knowing that he would not attack Mel, he looked back to Ghost.
"N-not now! Can't... lose this now....

Mel smirk grew even wider as his beam seemed to actually work. Well at least until the giant Gazimon stood right in front of the beam. It was a little disappointing that he wouldn't be able to see the full extent of the beam, but at least he got to see the beam actually works.
"What do you think? It's a little experiment I cooked up just in case someone like you would come along to ruin my plan. You see, it's a device made to attack your Hylden DNA, weakening you in the process. This way, you can't do anything against me, without physically harming Pure as well. And I'm guessing that's something you want to avoid." Mel taunted the the group in Pure's voice.
Crystal just couldn't believe what she is hearing. Despite knowing that it wasn't actually her brother, hearing him say such things just seemed unreal.
"Pure. Listen to me. Fight back against him. I know you can." Crystal called to her brother in hopes he would be able to respond to her. Sadly there was no such reply.
"Wow. I must admit I am impress that you even decided to try something like that. Sadly there is nothing your little brother can do to stop me. Not without damaging both his life and yours." Mel told her with a sly smile, "Now unless there is anything else, I got work to get back too."

There was no time to dwell on how Sanoske couldn't do anything at the moment but keep Ghost from getting hit by the beam. And based on what Mel said, the gun was specifically meant to weaken Hylden digimon similar to Ghost.
Crystal tried to get a raise out of Pure, but Mel knew that there was no way Pure could fight back. Ghost did as well. Even if Pure did fight back, Mel could simply reassert control. And Ghost did not want another Garm incident to occur.
The HyldenImpmon couldn't maintain this form, not with the effects of the gun having effected her so much. She reverted to her Champion form, lest she fades into her Ethereal form and be of no use to anyone for a while. But she had a look of frustration towards the possessed Terriermon.
"He's right... we can't... do anything for Pure now. I'm sorry... I screwed up big..."
The Shoutmon wearily got to her feet, barely able to remain upright. And as she took a few short breaths, she evaluated what she was able to do right now... She couldn't save Pure now, but they could retreat. But Crystal wouldn't just leave Pure, she thought. Sanoske probably wouldn't leave as well. She wasn't sure, but she had to take it upon herself to make the next move...
"Crystal... I'm sorry..."
She jumped towards the Lopmon and grabbed her before jumping away, hoping that she wouldn't get hit with the gun again. They needed to retreat, and to think up a strategy. She heard Sanoske call out to the both of them as she quickly retreated, the large Gazimon following suit.

"Ghost? Ghost! What are you doing? We have to save Pure? We can't leave him like this?" Crystal protested as Ghost suddenly grabbed her before beginning to jump away. With no chance that Ghost would change her mind, she shifted herself to face towards Pure one last time, shouting out, "Pure don't worry. We'll come back to save you. Even if it's the last thing I do, I'll make sure you get full control of your body back."
Mel just chuckled as he listened to Crystal's voice fade into the distance. "I'm counting on it." He said before entering his lab again. Now it's time to get back to work. No doubt they'll come back soon.

Ghost would not heed to Crystal's pleas for her to stop, and went until she could not clearly sense out Mel before stopping. Once they did, Ghost set Crystal down before leaning against a tree, nearly missing it as she tried to fall back onto it. She looked winded, worn, and altogether defeated as she looked down at the ground.
Sanoske was more confused than anything, and wanted answers from their ally. At least something...
^I thought we were going to save Pure. Why did we run away?^
"I'd love to... really. But I'm too weakened to... get that Hylden out. I need to be in my HyldenImpmon form... to do so, and I don't want to risk Pure mutating. And with that weapon of his we... we need to rethink our approach.
I can still help... I can still get that Hylden out... but we need a plan."
