Forest.
That was the easy part to understand. The fact that it was made entirely of data, or whatever? No, Aydn was still struggling with that bit. Then again, it had been a weird day, to say the least. Recieving his 'Xros Loader' mysteriously in the mail, and being guided into this 'Digital World'. Needless to say, he was outside of his comfort zone.
There were...differences, such as the inhabitants of the area, but the fact that forests were still forests, digital or not, gave the teen at least some comfort. Aydn had considered stopping to sketch some of the surrounding 'foliage', or perhaps asking one of the locals to pose for him, but so far he hadn't even worked up the nerve to talk to one of them...
What was he even doing here? Endless walking. It must've been a couple of hours since he'd arrived, surely. Sightseeing? Was that it? No, couldn't be. Why bother with this Xros Loader device, if there's no purpose to his being here?
Even as he inspected the device, he knew it'd be blank. Silly thing. Maybe he could ask one of the locals for help. They didn't seem too freaked out by him, as they carried on their lives around him. Maybe there were other humans, somewhere? Hrm...

Scout really has no idea how or why he ended up in the forest, either. Funny how that works out! One minute you're exploring near the Terminus Mall, and the next you're wandering into a forest filled with foliage so dense that most of the sunlight isn't even reaching you anymore.
Still, that only adds to his excitement. Butterflies dance in his stomach, as he moves between the trees, occasionally stopping to wave, smile, and exchange a friendly greeting with the Digimon he encounters. It doesn't matter whether they return them or not!
Naturally, after a few minutes, the agile acrobat climbs into the trees and starts to move from branch to branch. His parents would kill him if they could see him now!
Scout stops to take a sip of water, when he spots the other boy coming. An uncertain looking one, to boot! Well, maybe Scout can help!
He drops down from his branch, beaming, and smiles, “Hi! I'm Scout. Are you lost?”

The Xros Loader almost ended up on the floor, as another teenaged boy dropped down out of a nearby tree! Aydn leaped back in surprise, although managed to contain what would've almost certainly been a somewhat embarassing shriek.
As he felt his heartrate slowly return to normal, Aydn took a deep breath and looked the boy over. Well, he certainly seemed friendly enough. Although...what kind of name is 'Scout'?
“I'm...Aydn. Lost is one word for it. I just sort of...wound up here,” Aydn began to fiddle with the dial on his Xros Loader as he spoke. It scrolled through several, identical blank screens. Curious, “I'm not...really sure why I'm here. Or where I am, even. Digital Forest, sure, but beyond that,”
Immediately he started to feel foolish, simply because of what he'd said. Practically exploded with his request for help. An excellent way to make friends.

Scout taps his chin with a finger in thought. Hey, is that a D-Scanner the guy has? No, hm. Maybe a different model though!
"Okay, well, I can help you get back to one of the cities if you like, and you can make the way back to the human world from there,"
Well, it's the closest thing to a plan he really has, at the moment. Hey, something's missing!
"Wait, you're a human in the Digital World, right? So where's your partner?" the hyperactive, overly-happy teen comes to a screeching halt, and tilts his head in confusion.
Sure, he could be a Spirit Wielder, but most of the humans he's seen have had Digimon Partners of some kind. Maybe this guy was separated from his? But not from the way he's talking...wait, maybe they haven't...
"Wait, do you have a partner? Pretty much everyone who comes through here has one,"
Y'know. As far as he knows.

The kid sure did like to...talk a lot.
Aydn shook his head, trying to keep track of everything that was being said by the teenager. Some of it might've been important, after all.
“What, exactly, do you mean by a partner?” he frowns, no longer sure if Scout is concerned, or just plain hitting on him. Super weird, “I'm here alone, if you must know,” And he's very aware of that fact, surrounded by creatures that could kill him with little more than a thought, if they so desired, “maybe heading back would be best,”
After all, Aydn had no idea why he was there in the first place. It had just seemed like the thing to do, at the time, leading to the current situation, where he just felt...foolish, more than anything. Still, Scout seemed like he was much more at ease in these surroundings. Maybe he comes here a lot. Makes sense, then, that he'd be able to guide him back. No reason to distrust him, so far.
No reason to really trust him, either, though.
