Jimmy's eyes shot open as he woke up from a bad dream. He took a second to recollect himself as he looked around at the endless expanse of sands around him. "That's right. We were travelling through the desert." He reminded himself as he wiped some sweat from his forehead.
Fortunately it was still the dead of night and everyone else seemed like they were asleep. He took a second to try to remember what exactly it was that woke him up, but the dream he just had slipped away from his mental grasp. Sighing, he stood up and stretched. Whatever it was that scared him so much, it had him wide awake now.
Perhaps I should have a little walk. See if I can't calm myself down. He decided as he began to walk around. As he did so, he began to appreciate the cold night air. It was far more comforting then the scorching heat he had to normally deal with. It also allowed him some time to think about what he gotten himself into. I mean. He's now helping someone who was only a stranger to him a few weeks back with some kind of war against some time of machine army. Was it really worth risking his life for?
Before his train of thought could carry him any further, he could hear a beeping noise from his pocket. He pulled out his D-Tector to see a familiar map with a red dot on it.
"Another Spirit Totem?" He said under his voice as he looked in the direction the red dot was pointing at. With some hesitation, he began heading towards it.

Jimmy wasn't the only one up in the slightest. It was Nova's watch right now. It wasn't like he could sleep very well with the nightmares he suffered from everynight, which only seemed to get worse no matter what he did. Naturally, he wouldn't tell Sparks since they involved him turning into some sort of monster with him sometimes attacking Nova. During one occasion, he caught Robin up controlling Sparks. So far, Robin was the first to learn of Nova's odd sleep disorder. He didn't notice Jimmy wake up, for his mind was elsewhere. He was looking at the pendant he got after they were linked and couldn't help but wonder if the link had something to do with it. Then he caught sight of Jimmy walking off in its reflection.
He then nudged Spike awake. "I'm going to see what Jimmy's up to. You mind keeping watch?" Nova asked quietly, trying not wake up the others. "Nope. Just be careful," Spike replied. With a nod, Nova sat off in Jimmy's direction, curious to see what the Spirit Wielder was up to. Perhaps being a Spirit Wielder required some sort of ritual? Out of curiosity, he also checked the Radar of his Fusion Loader. It appeared there was someone a ways back the way they came, but it didn't look like that person was moving. Were they being followed by someone else? Deciding to check it out later, he continued after Jimmy.

Jimmy continued walking for several minutes until he saw something that looked like a stone pillar up ahead. "Could that be where my D-Tector is leading me?" He wonder aloud as he looked down on his digivice. Sure enough, the red dot seems to be right on top of the stone pillar.
He quickly made his way over to the pillar to see that it was more then just some random stone pillar in the dessert. Instead it appeared to be a monument of some kind as it had text all over it. Jimmy skimmed over it, not paying much attention to what it was really saying until he found the part he was expecting to find.
"To the one that wishes to have my power. You must prove yourself worthy." Jimmy read aloud before giving a sigh, "Of course I must prove myself worthy. When do I not." He then looked around for a little bit before taking notice of something. "How exactly am I suppose to do that?"
The Spirit Wielder walked around the stone pillar trying to find some hit of what he's suppose to do. With nothing appearing out of nowhere to try to kill Jimmy, he suspected that there may be more to this then comes to the eye. At least he hoped so, or else he had no idea on what exactly he's suppose to do.

Nova rubbed his eyes. "What I would give for a good night's rest,"he grumbled. Eventually, he could make out Jimmy examining a stone pillar. Deciding a little jogging wouldn't hurt, so he jogged up to Jimmy. "Jimmy, what did you find?" he asked.

"Huh?" Jimmy was slightly surprised when he heard Nova's voice. Did he notice Jimmy's disappearance and followed him all the way here?
"Nova what are you doing here? Don't you know how dangerous it is to... Nevermind." Jimmy said as he shook his head, "This. I'm not quite sure yet. It appears to be some type of monument. Apparently my D-tector thinks there is some kind of Spirit Totem around here." He said with a sigh.
Starting to get a little frustrated by this, he shook his D-tector a bit and hitting it to make sure it was working. With no change to the map, he looked back over at the monument as he noticed something about the monument that gave him an idea. The letters on the monument were pretty deeply inscribed into the stone. Perhaps he could...
"Nova. Could you wait here for second? I'm going to check something out." He told Nova before placing his hand into one of the letters. A quick test showed that sure enough, it could hold his weight. He then began to climb his way up the monument.

"Just be careful," Nova warned. He then began skimming the text himself for the one line he would expect anything at all like this to say. Yep, must prove himself worthy. Go figure, he thought. He then decided to reread it carefully for clues. Just because it was Jimmy's next Spirit didn't mean he couldn't help, right? Plus if he needed to, he could wake Sparks, and Robin by extension, with a thought. It wouldn't take long for them to arrive.

"Yeah yeah. Don't worry. I got this." Jimmy called back down as he scaled his way up the monument. It was kind of hard for him to believe how easily he's been able to do this. While he always had a knack for climbing, he would of probably never been able to scale this thing so easily if not for all the physical activity the digital world required from him. In fact, despite how much he hated to admit it, the digital world has helped him have the best health of his life.
The climb itself proved to be fairly easy. Other then a brief moment when he nearly slipped (which scared Jimmy half to death), he made his way to the top just fine.
From the top of the monument, he began looking around for any clues he could find. As he did so, he felt his foot sink, and hear a strange noise below him. Suddenly a strange contraption with four raised metal pillars appear. On the top of each pillar is a symbol that can be seen only from Jimmy's perspective. It took him a second, but he recognized what the symbols meant. They were the symbols depicting which element a spirit totem belonged to. One was the elemental symbol of light, the other steel, the third nature, and the forth he believed was darkness.
Meanwhile, as Nova read through the passage, he may begin to notice that there seemed to be acrostic messages in the memorial. Each one stating the name of each of the symbols from the top of the pillars. Also if he were to try to move the pillars in any way, he'll find that they go around the monument like a merry-go-round with little effort, with something stopping it from moving every quarter way around.
"Hey Nova. There are symbols representing the elements up here. Do you see anything down there that could give us a clue for what we need to do next?" Jimmy asked, calling down. It was kind of hard to see Nova having only the stars and full moon as a light source.

"Yeah, the text here mentions something about them," Nova answered, squinting as he tried to read. Then an idea occurred to him. He got out his laptop and turned it on, using the screen as a light source to help him read. "There we go. It mentions Light, Steel, Nature, and Darkness," he told him. He read a little further, then moved on to the new pillars to look for clues as to what they did. The contraption looked like it spun. That much Nova could tell. "Anything up there?" he asked.

"Yeah. Those are the exact same as the symbols up here." Jimmy said before thinking a moment. It seemed to be a pretty easy puzzle actually. It was also fortunate that both of them were there.
"Do you know if we can move those pillars? Perhaps we're suppose to match the symbols to the text." Jimmy called down before adding what symbol each pillar had. He had no idea what exactly this was going to do, but it sure was going to prove to be interesting.

Nova yawned. "It looks like it," he replied before pushing one of the pillars, causing them all to move counterclockwise, but they stopped after going a fourth of the way around. Now was not the best time to be sleep deprived. Fortunately, the puzzle didn't seem difficult especially with the two of them there.

Jimmy watched as Nova moved the metal pillars 90 degrees around the monument. So it appears his hunch was correct and they were suppose to move the pillars in order to solve the puzzle. Now it's just time to align the pillars to where they belong.
"Hey Nova. See if you can't move this one over to the side of the monument that says Light." Jimmy called out as he pointed towards said pillar. All they needed to do is match the pillar to the word and this part of the puzzle should be done. Yet the question is now, what is to follow?

Nova pushed the pillars counter Clockwise, but harder this time so they moved a little faster. He pushed them again once they stopped so they went another fourht of the way. "That should do it," he stated.

Nova would hear a click once he had all the pillars in place. Then suddenly they would begin to glow in different colors. Light would glow light blue, Nature green, Steel silver, and Darkness black. The pillars then dissolve into nothingness to reveal four digimon that resembled Lobomon, bur themed to their respective element. Then with a gleam in their eye, they all looked over at Nova and began to head his way with their blades drawn.
"Of course it was a trap. Nova watch out." Jimmy warned as he pulled out his D-tector.
Jimmy grew worried as he looked down. Time was of the essence and he needed to make this quick. Holding up a closed left fist in front of his face, he gave his D-tector a small toss with his right as he opened the fist to reveal a halo of his own fractal code surrounding it. He then swiftly caught his D-tector and brought it's scanner in front of his fractal code sample announcing, "Execute! Spirit Evolution!" Jimmy's entire body was then engulfed by a cocoon of data as his form began to change. The data then dispersed as quickly as it came to reveal Jimmy's new form. "Lobomon."
The Lobomon quickly jumped down from the top of the monument and landed with little effort. That didn't mean it didn't hurt. He just was able to stay on his feet. He then quickly delivered a kicked to one of the elemental Lobomon, forcing him to back off. With the campsite several minutes away, he's going to have to make due before help will be able to arrive.
"Nova. Do me a favor and start heading back to the camp now. I'm going to have a hard enough time dealing with these suckers without having to also worry about you." Jimmy said as he took a defensive stance.
Unfortunately for them, none of them were aware of the force field that now surrounded the area around the monument. It was a test for Jimmy after all, and it would be uncouth for him to just run away from it or for help to receive any outside help. Though perhaps Nova may still have some form of ace up his sleeve to lend Jimmy some assistance after all.

Four Lobomon came out of the pillars. "How typical," Nova muttered as he returned his laptop to his backpack. The only Digimon in his Fusion Loader were the Kyupimons, and sending them up against these four would be cruel, but he couldn't very well leave Jimmy after the last time he walked away from a fight. He took off his jacket and tossed it aside before cracking his neck. "Sorry Jimmy, but I can't let you face them alone, Digimon or none. Not after the last fight I walked away from," he told the Spirit Wielder as he took a fighting stance. The only way right now was to do this with his bare hands.
Back at the camp, Sparks enjoying his sleep until... Sparks, wake up! Sparks jolted upright. He looked around, noticing Jimmy and Nova were missing and found Spike was awake. What's going on? Sparks asked. Jimmy and I need backup. Get Shin and Spike over here ASAP. We'll give you the whole story in the morning, Nova replied. "Shin, wake up!" Sparks told the bird Digimon. "Nova and Jimmy need our help."

"Why do you have to make my job harder?" Jimmy complained as he blocked one of the opposing Lobomon's slashes against him. "What do you expect to do to them? Really? They are Champion level digimon, and your a mere human with, as far as I'm aware, no fighting skill. Do you honestly think your going to be an asset to me right here, right now." He continued, trying to convince Nova as his swords cut the steel Lobomon.
Unfortunately for Nova, the Dark Lobomon began firing a dark beam of energy in his direction. One that he better be able to get out of the way quickly.
Shin groaned as he began to wake up. "What's that about Jimmy?" He said as he stood up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. A quick examination of his surroundings revealed that neither Jimmy, nor Nova were at the campsite.
"What type of trouble did those idiots get themselves into now?" He said angrily. Preparing himself to give Jimmy the beating of his life time for this stunt he just tried to pull.
