"Blazing Ice" Crystal's voice echoed through out the forest as she unleashed her icy breath upon a tree. The tree's bark became slightly frosted as small holes emerged upon it, yet the attack proved to not do much else besides that.
Crystal, on the other hand, was out of breath and exhausted. Despite the sun just beginning to rise, she has been practicing by herself for a few hours now and it shows. All around her several trees possess similar damage that she just dealt to her more recent test dummy. Sure she should of probably have gotten Sanoske to come help her, but she didn't want to wake him. Besides she needed a good scope where she's currently at before she can figure out what she needs to do to get better. And that is...
"Absolutely nowhere." She said to herself as she fell on her back, "My shots are too weak and they are not getting any stronger. Not to mention I don't feel any stronger. I need to have decent mastery over my Champion level if I want to help Pure, and I can't risk turning into..." Crystal shook her head in hopes to remove the thought of Wendigomon from her mind, "No. I can't think about it. I just need to keep working at it. If I do, then surely I'll be able to reach my true champion form."
A scary thought then came to her head, "What if Wendigomon is my true Champion form? Should I embrace the madness that creates it? Maybe it's the only way I can truly help Pure." Crystal then shook her head once again, saying, "No no no no no. I already said I can't think about it. We'll cross that bridge when it comes. I just have to have hope that... I don't know."
The lopmon just continued to lie there, arguing with herself on what exactly she should do. She just couldn't figure anything out, her mind lacking the clarity it usually had from both a combination of exhaustion and self-doubt. She knew full well that she needed to get better if she's to help Pure, and the encounter with Catch the other day proved that she was far from ready. Yet what if she couldn't? What would they do then?

Sanoske awoke, and imminently noticed that Crystal wasn't around. Giving a low sigh, he figured that Crystal went off without him to train. He did wish she had got him along.
Getting up, he started to look for her. He managed to hear the end of her training, shooting ice pellets at trees before falling onto the ground, exhausted. While he heard her mutter something, he didn't quite hear what it was she was saying to herself. But she didn't seem too happy with her progress.
Crystal would have heard Sanoske walk, although he made no attempt to remain silent. But for a few moments, he stopped... and then he continued walking. He went over to sit down by him, looking slightly cheery, mostly to try to get Crystal's spirits up
^From the looks of it, training seems to be going... okay.
But, my lovely Lopmon, I do have have an idea. A special training exercise I just came up, for you. I will not tell you what it is, though, until after you rest up. But if you complete it before the day is up, I will give you something special. What do you say, honey?^

The lopmon perked up when she noticed Sanoske's presence. She wonder how long he was watching her for? She didn't notice her near mental breakdown, did he?
"But Sano, I already wasted more then enough time procrastinating. I can't afford to rest any longer then I already have. If I do then I'll never be able to reach a controllable Champion form, so I can actually help Pure." Crystal said as her head fell back onto the ground.
Attaining a new form was always something she heard was difficult to achieve. Even Digimon partnered with humans seem to have a tough time accomplishing it, and they have it easy. How was she suppose to attain that same type of power without falling into the dark void she can feel deep inside herself?

Sanoske remembered the last time Crystal went into her champion form. It was still a bit of a blur considering he was, at the time, injured from a previous fight, but he remembered her almost killing him before snapping back to her senses.
But he wasn't worried. Sanoske was strong enough to subdue her should she lose control again, and he wouldn't have to harm her. He was certain his plan would work.
He took a claw and lovingly stroked one of her ears, still smiling.
^Trust me, Crystal... you will probably need your rest for what I have planned. But if you insist...^
Sanoske got up and looked to another area of the forest. ^There is a somewhat steep hill nearby. I will be at the base of it. I would rather you rest first, though, if even for a little bit. But the day is still young, and you have plenty of time to try to win your prize, honey.^
He began to walk off. He was purposely trying to pique her curiosity and leading her on. He wanted to see some determination from her.

Crystal lied there as she listened to Sanoske mention that they'll start her mission at the base of the hill. She thought about it for awhile as her curiosity about what exactly he was going to give began to creep into her mind. What exactly could it be? Could it be something of the romantic nature? Or perhaps he just said that to get her intrigued, with no actually gift planned?
Well whatever the case was, her curiosity definitely lit a fire in her. She stood up and began to follow after Sanoske. Oh sure she was still exhausted, but she wanted to know at least what the task was first before she rest anymore. She wouldn't be able to relax properly anyways until she knew.

Sanoske reached the hill he mentioned before and examined it...
^Yes... this will do nicely.^
Using the energy blades on his gauntlets, he carved out a line in the ground. He then flew to the top of the hill and sat down This hill itself wasn't particularly large, but as said before, it was fairly steep, and merely climbing up it would offer some difficulty to any digimon Crystal's size.
^Here is my challenge. You simply have to reach me and give me a hug while I sit up here.
Of course, for the purposes of this training I will not make it easy for you. I will set up obstacles for you to get past. And if you are touched even once, you have to walk back down and try again.
Oh, and you get three Blazing Shots to defend yourself for every attempt.
Do not wear yourself out, though. As I said, we have plenty of time today^

Crystal looked up the hill as she listened to Sanoske speak. The hill didn't seem all that bad. Sure it seemed like it was going to be a bit of a challenge for her to climb, but nothing beyond her current capabilities. Though with the added fact that Sanoske will be putting obstacles in her way may make this pretty interesting test.
"Alright then. I think I understand the challenge. Climb the hill. Avoid obstacles. Three uses of Blazing Ice. Hug you. Right?" She asked to make sure she understands everything correctly. She didn't want to start something like this if there happens to be something she's unclear about.

Sanoske nodded in confirmation. "Yes. Now, as you may have figured out, my illusions will not harm you, and you can destroy them. There might be some force behind them should they strike you, but they should not do much more than a strong gust of wind.
Perhaps you should at least rest for a few minutes. If you do manage to get up to me but wear yourself out, you might not have the strength to hug me. And then you will lose the challenge. Or you can start right now if you want. And I so would like a hug from you."
The last bit was said with a teasing tone to it... as teasing as a growl can be. He hoped this would help her. He also fully intended to, at the very least, want her to try for a few hours at least. It certainly won't be easy.
"If you want, you can have Pure tag along too."

"No. I think I have this. Let Pure sleep. He's probably gonna need it in the few days." Crystal stated as she looked at the hill. While she was still exhausted from her earlier training, she really wanted to get this done, if just to give Sanoske a hug and be able to sleep on him.
So she took a deep breath and began to climb. Knowing full well in the back of her mind that she probably should take Sanoske's advice and rest up for a bit longer.

And so Crystal started her climb. Without rest Crystal would more than likely not get too far if he went all out, so he decided to go a wee bit easier on her. As long as it takes her a while and this acts as good training it didn't matter what he threw out. Her climb went uncontested for a few moments, before a 4 foot high wall sprouted in front of her. Said wall would begin to fall towards her.
Would she jump over the wall? Shoot it? In either case she would see blackened Lopmon spinning towards her like killer tops, heading right to her.

Crystal's legs stung as she climbed up the hill. Fortunately, so far, nothing seemed to happen. It appeared that Sanoske was going to start off easy on her. At least that's what she thought until a four foot wall began falling down towards her.
She tried her best to avoid it by jumping to the side. Yet her tired legs wouldn't let her, and she found herself not only being tagged by the wall, but also rolling down the hill. To make matters even worse, all of the Lopclones manage to land their hits on her as well.
"Owch..." She said in a low groan as she found herself laying down right where she began. While the tumble she took ended up not really hurting her for all that much, it still brought pain to both her body and her pride. Perhaps she should have rested up real quick. Not to mention that her stomach decided to remind her that she hasn't eaten anything at all today.

Sanoske cringed a bit seeing Crystal take such a tumble. But it was for the best. Still, this wouldn't do at all. Just watching her shown that she barely had the strength to move, let alone get too far into his challenge.
^Do you wish to take a half hour to rest up? Or did you want to try again? Once more, you have the full day to do this, so please pace yourself. I understand you want to train hard, honey, but a bit of rest ensures you can keep on going in the long run.^[/b[

Crystal just laid there silent as she listened to Sanoske speak. Despite him having said it a few times now, she had to admit that his point still stand. She barely managed to get a few feet before that disastrous failure. It was probably best if she rested here for a bit before trying again.
"In that case, can you climb down here and rest with me Sano." She asked just wanting to spend some time close to him. It wasn't fun having to raise her voice just so he could hear her down her after all, and it isn't as comfy.

Sanoske trotted down the steep hill before coming to a stop next to Crystal, sitting down once he got to the bottom.
Normally he would cuddle by her but... he wanted that hug she would have to earn to have real meaning. He wanted her well rested, but determined. Of course, he would remain close to her, he wasn't going to avoid her as if she had some contagious disease.
^Hm, perhaps I should gather up a quick breakfast soon. It does not seem like either of us have eaten yet.
I probably should have thought out the pacing of my idea a bit more, too. I kind of just came up with the idea and acted on it as soon as it came to mind.^
He would then gently reposition Crystal to be leaning against the hill, sitting up. Seeing as they had time to kill, Sanoske attempted to strike up a conversation.
^So, if you could be any other digimon for a day, what would it be?^

Crystal gave a small, depressed sigh when Sanoske wouldn't cuddle her. She understood that he wanted it to be an award for her to aspire towards, but she also really wanted to just be close to him right now. Yet she guessed it wasn't going to happen right now.
"I don't know. I never really thought about it before." She admitted as she started thinking about it, "Maybe some larger and stronger version of a lopmon, so I could hug you properly and defend those I care about." She then answered with a shrug.
In all honesty, it was the first answer that came to her mind, but she also couldn't really think about anyone else she would want to be. She liked being herself after all. It can be annoying how weak and small she actually is at times, but she still didn't want to be someone completely different. Especially not after her experience with Wendigomon.
