"To be honest, I'm not much of a hunter-gatherer either," Nova chuckled as he erased the message he just wrote with his foot. It was probably a bad idea. Then Jimmy mentioned seeing someone. Squinting, Nova followed Jimmy's gaze and spotted two shapes that looked vaguely familiar. "No way..." he murmured, his eyes widening. He walked over to Sparks, and nudged awake him with his foot. The Star Dragon sat up groggily, his eyes half open. "Are they who I think they are?" Nova asked him as he turned Sparks head in the direction of the Tamer and Digimon duo.
The electrical Digimon's eyes shot the rest of the way open when he noticed their EM field signatures. "No doubt. They're one of the Tamers that we tried to help back in Server Woods, the one with the Kotemon," Sparks answered. "But what is someone newer than you doing here in a place more dangerous than the woods?" he questioned. "I don't know, but if they're lucky, then they're close to reaching Ultimate," Nova replied, waving at them. "Just so you know, they don't speak Japanese, but they do speak English," he informed Jimmy. "So that's the other language you speak," Sparks said.

Soon, Kotemon and Duffer were within hearing distance of the others. Well, Kotemon was, Duffer lagged behind due to the whole "overweight guy in the middle of a desert with no water" thing. Kotemon offered a claw as he approached Nova. "Ah, yes, another of my student's companions! He'll be very glad to see you when he arrives." The digimon shouted back to Duffer. "DUFFER, HURRY UP! WE HAVE COMPANY!" "I'M DYING, YOU TIN CAN!" The boy responded, unhappily. "He'll be here soon. So, how's it been with you guys? Me and Duffer have been training since we last met you guys in the woods..."

Jimmy scratched his head a bit as Nova identify the two newcomers. It appeared that they were friends of his. Well that was good. The last thing Jimmy honestly wanted to do right now was fight.
"Well I'll go and... Uhh... Fix up some grub. Allow you four to catch up on stuff." Jimmy said as he walked away from the small group and begin preparations for breakfast.
It was around this time Shin woke up from all the yelling. Not exactly the most happiest camper in the world. "Can you all just quiet down for a second? You two already kept us up half night because of your shenanigans. Now your shouting at the top of your lungs." He said half-tired, obviously not fully aware of the two newcomers that had appeared.

Nova took Kotemon's claw and shook it. It was about that time that the others were waking up from all of the yelling. "We're not the ones who were yelling. It was the Kotemon and his Tamer," Nova told Shin in annoyance. He was about to turn around to tell Kotemon what had happened since then, but stopped. "Oh, and before you try complaining to them, I should probably point out that they only speak English," he added as an afterthought. He then turned around to face Kotemon. "Well if you've been training for that long, I imagine you must be close to reaching Ultimate," Nova told him, switching to English.
"Anyway, since I've been fighting a group of machine Digimon called the Machinedra Army since I first came to this world, it's been pretty hectic. It only got crazier right after we went our separate ways in the woods. Sparks got impaled by a Devimon, who took some of his data and replaced it with a virus. He almost died because of that. Fortunately, I managed to get him to the Springs of Life in time," he explained.

"Interesting!" Kotemon said, taking its claw back just as Duffer arrived. Duffer was panting and nearly collapsed on the sand. "H-hey..." The boy sputtered as he leaned onto Kotemon. "I'm... just kinda... do you have any water? Kotemon kept telling me it would just slow me down to carry it with me." He glared at his partner as its glowing red eyes looked away, innocently. "I hate phys ed days, Kotemon always does this to me, no matter what the planned schedule is... I was supposed to play japanese baseball but noooooo." He shook his head. "Pah." Kotemon said. "You'll learn more about accuracy, precision, and pitching from fighting digimon than you ever will on that stupid field. I bet you'd have preferred to play tennis than Trick or Treating in the Digital World too." "...I never said that..." Duffer mumbled.

"Uhh... Sure..." Shin said as he woke up a bit more and walked over to Jimmy, "Who are those two?"
"Friends of Nova apparently." Jimmy answered as he focused on cooking breakfast. He even had a little thing with some tin foil wrapped in a way to use the sun's heat as an oven. Just one of the tricks he has found useful during his stay in the digital world.
"So did Nova call them in for some extra help or what?"
"I think they just happen upon us at random."
"Huh... What are the odds? Especially out here in the middle of the desert."
Jimmy just shrugged it off, "Small world I guess." He then looked up as he overheard Duffer mention something. "And how exactly is Japanese Baseball different from Baseball anywhere else. Last I check, it was all the same sport and doesn't need such distinction." He added before returning back to cooking.

Nova pulled a canteen full of water out of his backpack. "Here, don't drink too much at once or you'll make yourself sick," he said as he handed it to Duffer. "Yeah, the Digital World seems pretty big at first, but times like these make it seem so much smaller," Nova agreed. "Anyway, I don't think the Machinedra Army hasn't shown us what they're fully capable of yet. I need backup before they decide to go all out. Right now, Sparks is only capable of matching an Ultimate level and last time lead to a showdown between two Ultimates against Sparks and Jimmy last time," he explained.
"That's true. If we want to survive, we need strong allies. Are you game?" Spike asked. So he speaks English too... I wonder what else he's been hiding, Nova thought.

Duffer drank the water carefully, wanting to feel every drop go through his body. Kotemon shook its head and turned back to Nova. "Anyways, yeah, I'd love to follow you along in the... machine army?" Kotemon thinks briefly. "I suppose that it would make sense you'd be in the desert then, Machines have an advantage over living creatures, considering they don't need as much oil as we would water. Anyways, who're your friends there?" Kotemon asked. An attentive man would spot Kotemon was dodging the "Are you an Ultimate yet?" question, but it could also be that Kotemon was legitimately curious... except no, Kotemon was deliberately avoiding the question.
Duffer dug out his Japanese book, looking over what it had available for this situation. <Hello.> He tried, waving to the others. <My name is Duffer. Who are you?>

"No offence, but have you ever needed to use that book in this world before? I mean maybe it's just me, but most digimon I know seemed to understand and speak English as well as Japanese. Though then again that could just be me." Jimmy mentioned with a small shrug still focused on preparing food, "Nice Japanese by the way. It was almost hard to tell that you were reading from a book." He then added in Japanese.
Shin just looked kind of confused as he looked back and forth between the everyone. "I don't understand why you humans have so many languages."
"Trust me. I don't quite understand it either."

"The other human is Jimmy, a Spirit user. The Falcomon is his friend, Shin," Nova told Duffer and Kotemon. "I'm Stingmon, but my friends call me Spike. I was the Digimon partner of Nova's father a long time ago," Spike added. "I'm Angie, and these are my brothers and sisters, Pit, Icarus, Lucy and Hope," Angie told them in Japanese, not really knowing any English. Lucy adjusted her glasses, causing the sunlight to glint off them. "I should probably help with the cooking since we don't really know when or if they'll strike today," Nova said before walking over to Jimmy.
"Oh, and Sparks, I want you and Spike to do some sparring," he said, switching back to Japanese as he looked back at Sparks. Both Digimon gave a nod.

Duffer dug around his Japanese handbook so he could figure out what Angie had told him. <Ah, thank you. It is nice to be of meeting you!> Although he'd still not mastered the Japanese language, he was far better off than his companion, who had to ask for a translation. "Anyways, maybe Kotemon could join? He's been telling me how training is the best thing since sliced bread, but I never get to see him do any of his own." The boy smiled as Kotemon's large glowing eyes gave him an unhappy glare.
"Fine Duffer, I will join them in their spar, to show you that I have spent more time training than you have." Kotemon went to the group of digimon to defend its honor while Duffer stayed with the other humans. "Have you guys ever had problems with your partner? Because sometimes it feels like I got the wrong one... I mean, that pumpkinmon one looked neat. Why couldn't I have gotten one of them?"

Jimmy gave a small sigh. It seemed his questioned went unheard. Oh well... It wasn't like he wasn't use to it by now. He always seem to disappear in the background at times like these. Probably for the best to seeing how some of the other digimon with them don't seem to be able to understand both languages like he thought.
"Well foods ready." He announced in Japanese and then in English so that everyone could understand. He really hoped he didn't have to keep doing that just so everyone understands what he says. It didn't seem all that practical, and he didn't like the idea of having to repeat himself constantly. Who would?
At least the meal looked pretty good. It wasn't anything fancy. Just some cooked beans with a bit of dried meat mixed in it. It should be enough to last them til lunch though. Hopefully...

"I'll admit it does feel that way sometimes given how often Sparks and I butt heads, even if we don't do it as openly as we used to. Plus sometimes it would've been cool to end up as a Tamer with an Aero Veedramon or a Spirit User compared to being a Xros General," Nova admitted. "Of course if I didn't run into Sparks within the first six minutes of ending up in the Digital World, then neither of us would be here right now seeing how often we're saving each other's necks."
He didn't particularly like eating beans, but he knew that he couldn't really afford to be picky. "I guess we'll have to hold off our sparring match until after breakfast," Sparks stated. "I wouldn't mind having Kotemon join us at all. After all, my time with Rei taught me that a Digimon can hold him or herself back just as easily as the Tamer in a Tamer Digimon relationship," Spike pointed out.

Duffer blinked at the mention of Breakfast. "Isn't it like, ten thirty in the real world?" He looked at his digivice and tried to find the clock feature. "Man this place is all screwy... anyways, you guys can eat without me, I already had breakfast." Kotemon shook its head as it sat down beside Duffer, both of them waiting patiently as their friends ate.
"...So, what do you do for fun in the Digital World?" Kotemon asked. "I mean, I know what you CAN do, it would just be interesting to learn what you've found compared to us."

"Who knows? Different world, different laws. It's dawn where we're at now, so we're are eating here now." Jimmy answered with a small shrug as he spooned himself a serving of food, "And something you have to remember is that this is it's own world, which means it has it's own time-zones. So expecting it to always be in sync with Tokyo is kind of ridiculous."
Shin looked at his bowl of beans as he had a thought. "To bad we don't have any of the right spices, or we could have made this into chili."
Jimmy just shrugged once again as he ate. In truth he wasn't really one for chili, or beans and jerky as he just fixed. He would prefer something a bit more traditional. Maybe some pancakes, some sausages, and some scrambled eggs. How he wished they could get the supplies to make something like that? Unfortunately most of the ingredients required is easily perishable and not exactly the best to travel through the desert with.
