"Well we're kinda pressed for time in order to come rescue someone, so we haven't had much time to just have fun like I would've wanted, though I think I spotted a group of Digimon making a parody to the Twilight movies while we were going through Server Woods. I wasn't really interested, so I didn't stay long enough to see much of it," Nova explained. "I did come up with a few ideas of how I can get Sparks to Digivolve though, but I'm a little hesitant to try any of them. I hope my acting is good enough for any of them, but even if I don't get him to Digivolve, he should still get good work out," he mentioned.
Lucy did have some good theories on the topic. It might happen if they push Sparks to his absolute limit, he might remember how if they happen to reenact the right scenario, or it might happen if he truly believed Nova was in danger. Any of those could possibly set him off. There was also the small possibility that he would be able to bypass his forgotten forms and obtain a new form, but that was highly unlikely. Of course Nova wasn't repeating any of this back to Sparks in Japanese so he could understand any of it so he could keep the ideas for speeding up the process of Sparks being able to Digivolve again.
After all, he couldn't just wait for Sparks to remember. "We'll be headed over to the Ancient Ruins. We should be able to make it there by this afternoon if you want to tag along," Spike told them.

"Ancient ruins... why does that sound familiar?" Duffer asked himself as Kotemon nodded.
"Yes, I'm sure Duffer would LOVE to learn about the Digital World's culture and history. I know it's a whole lot better than just sitting in a stuff old classroom and flicking pencils at one another."
"YOU started it." Duffer countered, shaking his head. "But ancient ruins... aren't those types of places dangerous, cursed, really well hidden, or some combination of the three?"
"Duffer, you're in the Digital World. If you die you'll just come back as an egg, and live your sad pathetic life over again. Anyways, if the whole "machine army" didn't dissuade you, I don't see why some pile of rocks should. Come on, it'll be fun!"
"Kotemon, my grades are in the toilet anyways, if I don't show up to class today they'll know something's up and come looking for me!"
"Duffer, I don't care." Kotemon said as bluntly as possible.

"Woah. You two must be fun in party." Jimmy said as he listened to Kotemon and Duffer argue back and forth. While he and Shin do argue from time to time, it never seemed so... What's the word? Not hateful. More... Uncaring.
They don't seem to fully trust and care for each other and have two different opinions on things. In fact they almost seemed opposites. It made Jimmy wonder why they decided to team up in the first place. They were so dysfunctional that he couldn't figure out how they would operate in a fight. Though he guessed the saying "opposites attract" exist for a reason.
"Anyways. Yes. We are heading to ruins that may prove to be dangerous, cursed, well hidden, and/or all of the above. If you don't want to come, you don't have to. In fact I say you should probably go back home." Jimmy pointed out, "Yet if you want to go on an adventure. Go explore places you never gone before, and fight off evil. Then go ahead and come with us. It's your choice after all.
"Just telling you now though. It's not as grand as it may first seem."

"Yeah, I'm really not looking forward to going back to school myself. Everyone must know I'm missing or think I'm dead by now anyway," Nova admitted. "Even if I did go back, someone might try opening a portal to drag me back here, and I don't even want to think about what'll happen the next time I fall through a portal after the first time. Anyway, Sparks actually lived in the ruins at one time, so once we get in, he'll lead the way and help us avoid any traps," he explained. If he went back, he can forget trying to hide seven Digimon in his house.
Between his mother and sister, they'd find out sooner or later, and he can't very well leave Sparks alone. Besides, if he left Sparks, he'd be going back on his word. "I won't stop you from coming to the ruins with us, but if you don't want to come, there's a restaurant in Server Woods I know that we can meet up at later," Nova told them.

"Well hopefully you'll be better off then me. When I finally was able to return to the Human World, I was more or less forgotten about. Even my father, the only family I have in Japan, had disappeared. Probably off on some business trip and hasn't even notice I'm gone even though it's been more then a year." Jimmy said with frustration as he stared at his breakfast. He then looked up as he notice he just said that out loud. "Sorry. Just... Had to let out steam."
Jimmy then went quiet once more as he picked at his food. His thoughts now on the life he could have lived. Why was he dragged into the Digital World in the first place?

"Or he could've gotten a Digivice and come here looking for you. This world isn't exactly just for kids," Nova pointed out. "Heck, for all I know, my mom could've become a tamer and came here looking for me. If there's anything I've learned, it's easy to bump into people you know here, or even people that someone you know has also met."
"Tell me about it," Spike said, speaking up. "I never expected to run into my Tamer's son and see that he's turned out so much like his father. I'm starting to think that those that are directly related to someone with a Digivice eventually gets one too," he said. Lucy adjusted her glasses. "It is actually a plausible theory. Those who know someone who knows about Digimon or knows about them themselves are more likely to get a Digivice then someone who has no connections to Digimon," she said. Nova sighed.
"Well I guess that means I could go back to worrying about my sister sooner rather than later... Unless of course her Digimon is already pretty strong," he said.

"I doubt it. You don't know him like I do. Can we now just change the subject?" Jimmy asked, not wanting to talk about his dad anymore. He wondered why he even brought up the subject in the first place.
Shin gave a small cough to get everyone's attention. "So anyways. Once we finish with our business at the desert, I suggest we head to Rustport real quick and take the train from there. It'll be easier then trekking all the way back through the desert plus I know a few digimon there who'll be able to help us rest and resupply. Especially with our current meager funds. Sounds like a plan to all of you?" He asked. In all honesty, this whole talk about parents and family made him want to visit his own family. And he couldn't see a better opportunity then now.

"I did hear a rumor about an underground lab during one of my visits before it was attacked. I wouldn't mind investigating it to see if it's intact if it's even there to begin with," Sparks mentioned. Needless to say, this caught Lucy's attention. "I don't know about that. Even if there is a lab, we wouldn't know who owns it, and we can't very well just go barging in without asking," Nova pointed out. "Anyway, it also wouldn't hurt to check out that cave Sparks mentioned on the way at least to see if it leads into the Spyware Caverns. It would be nice to have a few shortcuts up our sleeve for traveling on foot," Spike put in. "Sounds like a game plan to me," Nova agreed.
He then appeared to be thinking about something briefly. He still hadn't told Sparks about Robin yet, nor has he been able to find the perfect time. May as well get it over with already. "Oh, and Sparks, you have a bodysnatcher living inside you," Nova said to him. "Right, and I'll bet that Impmon ghost is done haunting Server Woods and decided to come haunt Folder Desert," Sparks replied. "Welp, I tried to tell him," Nova said, clearly not concerned with how little Sparks believed in such things.

"Wait, wait, wait. Back up a second." Duffer interjected. "Body Snatchers? Possessions? Why on EARTH didn't you say so?" He took his backpack out and dug around, pulling out a few comic books and skimming through them, taking out an LC Comic and giving it to Nova.
"Oh boy, here we go..." Kotemon moaned, annoyed. "You guys had to mention something like that..."
"I happen to be an expert on the paranormal, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, mummies, I know more about how to survive in a paranormal scenario than the kids from "Scream" ...You guys HAVE seen Scream, right?" Duffer asked, unsure how horror films in the states did in Japan. You guys also mentioned about how your family are more likely to get digimon? Remind me to call my older brother, he might need some explanation if he gets a giant egg like I did..."
"You never told me you had a brother, Duffer." Kotemon said, a bit shocked.

"Can't say I ever watched scream. I'm not a bit horror guy though." Jimmy said with a shrug. "Anyways seeing how we all have come to a decision. Let's start heading out. I rather not stay directly in the sun for to long."
Shin, meanwhile, looked at Sparks weirdly. "Wait. Are you kidding? Have you not taken notice of those long points in time when someone else is in control of your body? Or are you just that unaware of your own body?" Shin asked concerned. How could Sparks have not noticed that he has a hitchhiker in his body.

"Well to be fair, I only remember Robin being at the wheel twice. When Sparks was out cold after one of his freak outs, and then I caught Robin controlling him while he was asleep one night. It doesn't surprise me that Sparks hasn't noticed," Nova pointed out, flipping through the comic he was handed. "Anyway, the Hylden aren't exactly ghosts or paranormal. They only need to inhabit someone's body when they're outside their area of the Digital World," he explained.
"That's true," Robin cut in, usurping control over Sparks mouth, the owner covering his mouth afterward. Sorry, but I think it's best if I explain things, Robin told Sparks, who only glared at Nova. "Don't say I didn't warn you," Nova said in response. Sparks opened his mouth to say something, but stopped. "Incoming," he warned. Soon, the sound of jet engines began to fill the air as a Mail Birdramon and a pair of Guardromon flew toward them in the distance. "If any of them are sentient, I call dibs."

"Anyways, my Brother's great. You guys should meet him. He owns all sorts of movies and since his video store went out of business you don't even have to pay for 'em. I can send you a copy of Scream once I get back to the states. You'll love it, it's th-What on Earth...?" Duffer cut himself off, staring at the large shadows in the sky. Kotemon drew its training sword and braced for battle, its red eyes glaring at the forms becoming apparent. "Are they part of the army?"
"Considering the rest of the group aren't reacting with happiness, I doubt it." Kotemon readied for battle while Duffer motioned for his comic book back whilst taking out his baseball bat.

"What the..?" Jimmy said as he heard the warning and the jets soon after. He looked to the sky to see the small group of digimon flying their way. It was hard to tell for him to tell exactly what they were though thanks to the sun.
"Everyone get behind me, and take defensive positions just in case." He then called out to the others as his hand reached into his pocket for his D-Tector. "I really hope these guys are friendly." He then said under his breathe, knowing full well that it was just wishful thinking. There was a very good chance that these were not friendlies that happened to be passing by. Instead most likely they were here to kill them.
Yet Jimmy was not going to let anyone else die on him. Not again. The moment any hostility is shown, he's making his move.

(I think this song fits somewhat)Nova handed Duffer his comic as he slipped his backpack off. He held up his Xros Loader as he scanned the incoming Digimon. "Guardromon and Mailbirdramon. No doubt they're hostiles. If they are, target the Guardromon with extreme prejudice. The Machinedra Army likes to use data they take from other Digimon to manufacture their soldiers. To save them, lethal force is the only option. They convert stronger Digimon into mindless slaves, in which case lethal force should only be used when there is no other means of purifying their data," Nova explained. "In either case, I'll handle the Mailbirdramon. Oh, and Duffer, you can't expect to do much to any of them with that bat," Sparks stated, Nova translating to Duffer and Kotemon for Sparks. When the Guardromon were in firing range, they landed, aiming their rocket launchers at Jimmy and Kotemon. The Mailbirdramon hovered overhead. Looks like the other side had similar thoughts. "Hello, Gold General," the Mailbirdramon greeted. "Oh look, it's Skynet!" Nova said nonchalantly. His sister would've loved to crack that joke if she were in his position. Naturally, since Sparks never saw any of the Terminator movies, the joke flew over his head. "Seriously? Loader Leomon only sends his lackey and a couple of drones to deal with us? Are we not worth his time?" Sparks asked as he slowly removed his left glove, letting it drop onto the sand. "I would think he would at least send more than just you 3 to give us a fair fight," he said smugly as he repeated this with his right glove. "I didn't come for him. I came for myself," Mailbirdramon huffed in reply. Sparks and Nova then got into a fighting stance simultaneously, their breathing slowing until it was in perfect sync. "Fire at will!" Mailbirdramon ordered. On command the Guardromon, fired their rockets at their respective targets while Mailbirdramon fired a blast of plasma from his mouth directly at Sparks. Meanwhile, a dim green glow had found its way into Nova's and Sparkmon's eyes as 1's and 0's could be seen scrolling across their eyes. Full Synchro had been achieved.

"I've can do quite a bit more with this bat than you'd ever anticipate." Duffer said, setting his bag aside and entering a battle stance. Kotemon moved swiftly and solemnly, taking out his training blade and swinging it at one of the missiles, revealing its hidden sharpness as the rocket fell in half. Duffer dashed to the side of the rockets, swiftly dodging the initial explosion but still being hit by the resulting shockwave. Barely keeping his stance when it hit him, it left him vulnerable for attack. Duffer's digivice emitted a high-pitched wailing noise as Kotemon rushed towards one of the guardromons, and in a flash of light, the comical-looking Gladimon took its place, charging with both fencing foils pointed towards the robotic digimon.
"SWORD-" Gladimon began, jamming its swords towards one of the Guardromon's feet. "DANCER!"
