"Leaving the combat to a single individual would be foolhardy, at best. It would make more sense to combine our power," Magnamon comments. He doesn't seem to be discouraging Shi as such, just...amending his idea, perhaps. Because that's something he does now.
Or always.
He nods to Ren, and then takes a few steps away from the group. He's still within earshot, but is staring out at the ocean, over the railling. He's still not used to being surrounded by so much water. But he'll cope with it. He'll have to, if he and Ren are somehow going to be pirates.
Again, the good kind of pirates. The kind who help people, ideally.
Or else lasers.

"Shiny is right. Thanks to him I have to look like a jackass wearing sunglasses belowdecks because he'll blind me otherwise. Neither one of of us is exactly defenseless either, though. We appreciate the company, but we have done pretty well for ourselves so far." Liar. Ren would probably have got himself killed already without the big golden dinosaur. Hookmon was cool, but like he'd been saying- something was missing. He was about to go on, when once again Ren's D-tector scanned and provided the information without ever being asked. 'Agumon. Rookie Level. Powerful Reptile types, watch out for their bfiery breath.'
"Yuudai and Yasuo. Nice to meet you guys. I'm Ren, that's Magnamon. Sometimes. Mostly's he's Lucemon. It's confusing for me. We've got about a day until we get to the coordinates we decrypted from the cipher, so we all have plenty of time to get to know each other. Speaking of..." He nodded in Dianne's direction.
"Who's that?"

Ahh... the sea. The huge, clean, apparently infinity and beautiful sea. It wasn't like she imagined it, it was even better. She could feel her gentle breeze, and with eyes wide open, she "devoured" with the sight everything she could see ranging from the pretty sky, its clear waters and the odd fish swimming nearby. Fortunately (or unfortunately) enough, there was no marine digimon at sight, so at the very least, there was no need to worry about territorial mons for now.
And so there she was, acting like a total tourist who never saw anything like that before, smiling and jumping out of excitement ... or at least that's what she was doing until she tripped and fell on her butt. Good thing the railings were there, or else she could've fell out of the ship!
"Who's that?"
She heard coming near her and directed towards her. In her excitement, she completely forgot that there were people other than her in the deck, and it was quite the diverse group if she ever saw one. A pair of humanoid males, most likely actual humans, Yuudai and Yasuo (who apparently had enough of sharing jokes), and a lizard in golden armor. That's the kind of people who were next to her and she felt compelled to stand up and answer to the question of one of the humanoid males asked.
"Sorry, where are my manners? I'm Dianne and I came to see the sea, it's even more beautiful than I thought. Were you all hired as guards like Yasuo and Yuudai were?"

[[Shi skipped due to timing; Lucemon has chosen to skip his post as well feeling it would be trivial. Normal post order resumes with Ren. I'd like to get the ship to our location soon, so will be steering things in that direction.]]
"Dianne, it's nice to meet you." He glanced over to Magnamon subtly, his expression just a little inquiring. Digimon? He carried the conversation on easily, reaching out to shake her hand. "Ren Campbell. This is Magnamon. We actually chartered the ship. I guess you could say we're treasure hunters. I might as well give you all some background, since we'll be sailing together." He explained how he and Magnamon were working together to follow clues left behind in a series of digicode-scrawled notebooks left behind by his grandfather they were translating with help from a cypher hidden in a journal of his old bedtime stories. Which seemed to maybe correspond with places and figures within the digital world.
"So we're not exactly sure what we're going to find out here. None of the maps Captain Datamon had access to showed any landmasses near there, so we're probably going underwater. That will mean the diving bell. How do you all feel about some swimming?"

"Nice to meet you too."
She smiled and accepted to handshake with the now confirmed human male. His hand was callused and the man himself had a strong grip, like if he were used to heavy work. She guessed that he had his fair share of adventures in boats given how well adapted he was to traveling by boat and due the status of his hands, which made her soft skin and hands look like the hands of a slacker.
The seaman then proceeded to explain that he and his partner magnamon (she assumed they were a human and digimon pair) were on a mission to find treasures, specifically a treasure they pursued following the intructions left in coded notebooks. It looked like this man wasn't the first one in his family to have visited the digital world, as his grandfather had information about the digital seas no common man would have.
"Treasure hunters? That sounds like a very interesting career. And that's soo romantic, to pursue the footsteps of your grampa. I want to follow the footsteps of my mother as well, so I can understand a bit how you feel"
When the human asked if she was up to do some swimming, the sistermon looked at the vast sea and wondered if they would really be able to do find anything in the vastness of the sea. It wouldn't be that hard if it were a huge sunken ship, but if somebody purposely left underwater something as small as a treasure chest, even with the coordinates it would be something hard to pull.
"Hmm ... I guess I could, I was a decent swimmer back in home. Good thing I still have this cute sailor uniform, I wouldn't want my actual clothes to get wet"
It was then that she realized she didn't really tell them just what kind of digimon she was. Without her sistermon clothes and with her very human-like figure, it would be easy to mistake her for a human, although those with a keen mind would've noticed that her eyes had pupils unlike those of a human, cross shaped.
"By the way, i'm a sistermon blanc. I'm just borrowing those clothes to not stain mine while I worked for the captain"

"Sistermon Blanc. I don't think I've encountered a Digimon with that name before," Magnamon takes a step back over to Ren, resisting the urge to sigh. He'd been hoping for some time to quietly contemplate his existence, or something equally monotonous, but no. Time to talk apparently. "I'm sure there's data, but,"
He eyes the Digimon. Another human-like one, then. Interesting. He offers a small nod of greeting to Dianne. It's certainly a good thing that she's fine with water, and the diving bell, if they're going underwater. He's not exactly thrilled about that himself, but...well. Better to do it when you're made of sleek metal than covered in feathers. Sigh.
She seems...talkative, too. Wonderful. More talkative people. "So what...brings you out this way? Just looking for work, or adventure, or...?"

"Sistermon, huh? That's new. I probably wouldn't even have realized you were a digimon at first. It'll be good to have you guys with us," he commented, looking over Dianne, Shi, Yuudai and Yasuo. "We don't know exactly what to expect out here. First time I've been been sailing the ocean... in this world. I'm kind of learning as I go along, but so far I've learned this place is pretty damn dangerous. It tries to kill you, like, a lot." He glanced out towards the bow of the ship, noting when he did the sun was creeping even closer to the horizon. They had made very good time; he wondered how much further they had to go.
"Either way I'm glad to have the company. I'm going to go check in with the Captain, see how much longer until we're close. We should probably- what?" A brief electronic squawking shrilled from the D-tector in Ren's pocket along with a burst of light, prompting him to retrieve the device curiously. He was surprised to find the screen had activated, revealing an arrow icon pointing a little off the bow of the ship, a few degrees towards the side. His lip up with excitement, and he held it out for Magnamon to see. "Luce', look. Just like when I got into the Digital World, remember? This has got to mean we're approaching another spirit."
"I've got to go check with the Captain!"

" Me? I'm looking for adventure, to discover how the world outside home is, help people if I can, and maybe find a love interest <3 "
While she had some success with most of her goals, finding a love interest was something that was kind of a lost cause. Oh well, its not like it really mattered that much, there was still a lot of fishes to fish in the huge ocean that is life and she was still young. And speaking about that, the magnamon wasn't exactly her type, too ... lizard-like and that armor would get in the way of getting lovey dovey. Ditto with the agumons, they were lizards too. Now the humans, they were quite good looking now that she noticed it, but she didn't come to get a boyfriend this time, she came for adventures and adventures were what she was going to get.
"Oh, I get that all the time. Even other digimon sometimes mistakes me for a human. I sometimes wonder why so many of us digimon imitates human life through evolution."
Indeed, it a complete enigma why so many digimon evolved into very human-like shapes. It was as if the digital world itself recognized the human form as the best or most versatile of them and thus granted many digimon, even those who started like blobs, lizards or beasts, the ability to become more and more human-like the farther they evolved.
Nevermind, something he said caught her attention, the whole "Ocean tries to kill you". So far it was almost like a leisure travel, but according to him it was a dangerous journey. Oh well, fortunately they were in the company of magnamon, Yuudai and Yasuo, and she herself wasn't bad at fighting as well. Then something happened, the human called Ren detected something and went to talk with the captain.
"Hey" she told to the magnamon.
"What did he detect? He found the treasure he was looking for?"

Magnamon shrugs. How is he supposed to know, after all? He gives a polite nod to excuse himself, and goes back to the edge of the ship, staring out at the infinite blue abyss beyond. Yeah, clearly this whole thing was a good idea. Dammit, there'd better be some good treasure found after this nonsense...

Captain Datamon stood at his map table with Ren, peering down at some charts and the D-tector. Ren had picked up enough to be able to help the Captain alter their course a few degrees off from the one they'd been on. It would take them into a region of water that sounded to Ren like the Sargasso Sea on Earth- with a higher concentration seaweed floating near the surface, the water was too much of a hassle to fish. Datamon told him in some cases the kelp would foul a ship's propeller, or rudder. The Rusty Salvager however was far too hardy for such things. He claimed. They found the modification in their course seemed to correspond with another set of notes in the journal; there was an indicator for something that might have been depth. They looked over these for an hour or two before Datamon's voice crackled out from a public address system: "Human and Digimon passengers, please assemble on the aft deck near the diving bell."
The sun had begun to set, casting a warm glow over the calm ocean. As promised the water carried a great deal of seaweed floating just below the surface like a legion of dark serpents. The Muchomon crew had been bustling around on deck for almost the entire time, making the ship ready, checking gear, going over the diving bell. They passed around the travelers with quiet ease, efficient at their duties with the ease of long practice. Ren emerged from the cabin into this chaos, D-tector in hand, and made his way back towards the aft deck. He'd left his pack and jacket behind, unwilling to risk losing them to the Ocean. Once he got to the diving bell he turned to watch towards the bow for his comrades. Datamon ambled up shortly after, moving over to the crane controls for the diving bell and poking at them in a few last minute checks.

Apparently the magnamon didn't know if the human found his treasure, so he wandered away to another side of the ship. Not like she minded it, having a new perspective of the beautiful sea was a cool thing to do.
Nevermind, things got quiet and peaceful after everybody greeted each other. The human and his agumon friends were trapped in their own world doing their own thing, the magnamon was doing the same thing, and the human of the callused mands hadn't appeared since what felt like hours after he rushed into the inside of the ship. As for Dianne, she spend around half a hour to a hour gazing at the sea and then helped for the rest of the time the muchomon in their duties, as that was the price she paid for becoming a passenger of this shit.
Eventually the sunset arrived, the sky become a faint orange-esque color and a voice sounded all over the ship saying "Human and Digimon passengers, please assemble on the aft deck near the diving bell."
Given that technically she was a passenger and not an actual staff member, she moved to the indicated location and quietly waited for more news, gazing at the sky and daydreaming about the adventures to come

Magnamon hovers over from the back end of the ship, setting down with a dull metallic 'thunk' and giving the diving bell a dubious look. Too small. Sure, he might be able to just about squeeze in, with those ridiculous shoulder pads of his, but it'll be uncomfortable. Ugh.
Better than feathers and water though. He's learned from experience that those are a bad combination. And frankly, he isn't even sure Magnamon has lungs, so. Doubly awesome. Ugh. Small spaces don't mix well with people accustomed to flight, though...
"This'd better be worth it, kid," he grumbles.

"It will be, I know it." Ren assured his blue and gold friend as he solidly landed on the deck. Glancing around at the small assembled party, Ren looked over to the Captain. Datamon simply nodded to him and went back to his work on the console; clearly he figured this was Ren's show. He had a job to do. "We've reached the area our coordinates directed us to. When we neared my D-Tector... well, detected something that has led us to this particular spot. There's something below us, and I believe it's what we're looking for. Whatever that is."
He grinned, looking back and forth to the two of them. "I'm going down in the diving bell to see what I can find. Captain Datamon has asked Shi, Yuudai and Yasuo to stay behind as guards here. Luce', it's up to you if you want to accompany me down or keep escort up here. Dianne, Captain's given permission for you to go down if you want. The diving bell has an air supply and lamps on the outer rim to give us some way to see the immediate area. We're going to drop the bell directly down on the coordinates my D-tector is indicating, so there shouldn't be much need to search far. I plan to do initial scouting with Crabmon."
Turning, Ren walked to stand under the thick metal diving bell. It looked big enough to hold three or four, but with one of those being Magnamon- it would be a tight fit. The inside featured a small ledge for divers to pull themselves up on, and the upper portion was draped with a rope net for storage and handholds. A number of dense glass viewports circled the bell, below which were the lamps he'd mentioned.
"So who wants to dive for treasure?"

"That's great, I've never been in a SERIOUS treasure hunt before!"
The human brought great news indeed for the treasure they were looking for might be just there, right below the ship ... or somewhere nearby. Maybe gold? Maybe a clue to an even bigger treasure? The idea of being part of something BIG was exciting for the sistermon, and given that they were going to dive with the diving bell, she brought her weapon with her. It would take extra space in the moderately sized diving bell, but would enable her to fight if things were to get tough and needed to get out to fight a marine digimon. She had never fought underwater exactly, but she was confident that with her trident, she could poke anything underwater hard enough to make them run away.
It was just a shame that the other human and the agumons couldn't go with them, but well, somebody HAD to stay onboard in case something like a gesomon appearead and attacked the ship.
The only thing she wondered was what he was talking about when he mentioned crabmon, because sure as hell that there was no crabmon within them, and she was totally sure that his partner were the magnamon, who looked like he would feel a bit cramped inside the diving bell.
"Count me in in the diving team, I can't wait to see what we can find there." She said, imagining things like a ship with a treasure room and jewels and crowns and stuff pirates would dig underwater.

Magnamon certainly wouldn't say 'no' to a bit of pirate treasure. Maybe a few more Holy Rings for him to wear in his Rookie form. Or a crown! Or a badass sword... But...no, those were just musings. He didn't really care either way if they found anything. This was almost entirely for Ren's benefit, anyway. His trinket had led them here for some reason. Time to see what that reason is.
He steps under the diving bell, drawing his shoulders in to try and give himself a smaller profile as he prepares to board the diving bell with the rest of the...'diving team'. "I suppose I'm ready to try this...water nonsense, kid," He grumbles, ever the bitter old warrior.
Wait, does his body rust...? That seems like something to have looked into before now. No, no...surely it'll be fine...
