Megan and Kami watched as everyone was chatting among one another. It was good to see that everyone seemed to be getting along. She was kind of afraid that things would get so tense here with all the new people that a fight would break out. Yet fortunately that seems to be quite the opposite of whats going on right now.
Megan then felt Kami tug on her jacket as he pointed at someone. She followed his finger to see two familiar figures. "Well isn't that interesting." She said as she looked at Josh and Guilix talking to someone.
"What do you think the boss is doing here?" Kami asked in sign.
"I'm not sure. Perhaps the same we are?" Megan replied with a small shrug. "Still is weird to see him here again of all places. We've been so busy that I don't think we've seen him at all since orientation."
Kami nodded as he watched their boss closely. Both were actually quite skilled opponents, so he wondered which one of them were actually participating. It would be nice if it were Josh. He wanted a rematch after the fight they had back when they first met.

Pop brushed off Shiro's comment. He wasn't terribly worried anyhow. He had confidence in himself and his skills. But he didn't know most of these digimon, so he was excited to see what they had. "Ooh I just can't wait! I wish it would start already!" he said as Yui chuckled and patted his head. "It will start soon enough Pop. No need to rush it." she said. Loli tended to be the one who thought things through better, but it did feel nice when she made a good point. Though she was used to correcting her brother. That was nothing new. "Yah yah. We will see." he said as she just sighed and shook her head. Yui was listening to HOgo explain the loader to Kai, before turning to Xavier and nodding. "Okay, well see you in the competion maybe. Good luck." she said as he walked off. Yui was indeed glad that this wasn't a life or death battle,a nd jus ta friendly match. Even if her parters would be reborn, she wasn't so sure she wanted to go through that at all...she would like to avoid them being defeated and having to reform if she could.

Amsel looked around with stars in her eyes, there were so many digimon of different colors sizes and types, She put her sketch book under her arm and jumped off the bench feeling pumped "come on doru lets go meet some of the competition!" she shouted in glee pumping her fist before running off into the crowd. Dorumon gasped and scrambled off the bench and ran after his tamer wishing that she would at lest wait for him.
Amsel looked around trying to decide with who she would talk to first, she scanned the crowd before stopping at josh, she grinned and ran over to the tamer and digimon. Dorumon had barely caught up to his tamer before she took off once again, doru sighed and followed after her he wondered where his tamer got her large reserves of energy from.

"I can understand that. If I were a Digimon, I'd want to stay in my strongest form all the time," Xavior replied as the girl with the hybrid looking Digimon, a Dorumon according to his Xros Loader, came walking over. Now that he was closer, the lizard Digimon looked like a smaller, red version of the Guilmon he helped before. "I got curious since you were the only person with a Dragon type Digimon in the competition," he explained, assuming the mini Guilmon was a Dragon Type.
He had a vague idea of how Digivolution worked, but Hogo never got into much detail about it with him. Meanwhile, Hogo was looking at the lone human. "...I wonder if that guy is a Spirit User, or a more experienced Xros General. I don't see any Digimon with him," he noted.

Zeki had ignored mostly everything as he watched the others. He had his notebook out and was writing down various details about the digimon there. He was slightly annoyed there were so many similair bunny digimon but atleast they had different colors. Zeki didn't have a clue about the child so he wrote little about him incase it was an actual child. He began muttering something about the two different insects something along the lines about the difference in sizes. He stopped his writing when he noticed that a digimon was staring at him. He hadn't seen a digimon like it before it was small, black and was wearing headphones. "Well aren't you an odd digimon..." He said looking at the digimon was writing observations about it.

As everyone was scoping out their competition, the image of King Etemon appeared on the monitor. "Hello everyone, and welcome to the Beginner's Tournament!" King Etemon greeted. The audience exploaded into cheers of excitement. "Remember, this tournament isn't elimination based, and everyone is limited to using their Rookie forms," King Etemon reminded. "Without further adieu, here are the pairings for the first round!"
The screen was filled by pictures of participating Digimon or their human partners. "Remember, it's only the first round, so our competitors won't have to worry much about winning until the next round. With that out of the way, will our competitors please make their way to the arena?"

Still lingering on the edges of the crowd, Lopmon watched the garish digimon's announcement with interest. This must be the emcee for the tournament. It was... Appropriate, at the very least. It seemed the tournament would be starting soon and the contestants were due to enter the arena. Tucking his ears a little closer around himself, he moved towards the indicated exit. It was time.

"Oh no." "Oh yes!" Kai and Shiro had diametrically opposite opinions of their first round matchup. The leader of D.A.T.S., Joshua Sparks, and his partner, Guilix. The Digimon were limited to Rookie... So theoretically they were on even ground. But Kai knew better. This was the leader of D.A.T.S., after all! Even if they were technically equals in level, for the moment, they were still far outclassed in terms of experience! Kai couldn't imagine how many battles the man had been through. And what had Kai been through? Just a handful! It wasn't even close!
Fortunately, it was a Swiss tournament. A round one loss was not the end of the world. Not that Kai honestly expected to win a single round. What was he even doing here? Shiro, on the other hand, had every intention to win every single round. The white Digimon was sure that he was the strongest here, and would do whatever it took to prove it. Facing what may be the strongest contender first... Was just a bonus.

"Heheh , well of course, you gotta understand there's more to strength than power or level. It's really about experience. Anyone can out level their opponent, or have a stronger attack, or type advantage, but a great fighter is one who focuses on skill!", Josh explained, Guilix distracted as they began to announce the matchups.
The dino raised an eyeridge as their first opponents were revealed. "Oh great", he mumbled to himself, standing a bit away from the others. "not only rookies but rookie rookies... How are they gunna be a challe- wait.. HEY! Are you talking about me!", he suddenly shouted running back toward his tamer and the other human.
"Yup indeed we were, hehe calm down, and did you see! We're up against those two we met in the alleyway!", he added sounding excited. The digimon was quite the opposite.
"Come on Boss this just keeps getting worse and worse! How is this supposed to teach me anything!?", he was quite whiny in this form it seemed.

Dante continued to stand off to the side, waiting for the tournament to begin. Finally there's an announcement from King Etemon. It looks like the first round is going to start soon. A large crowd of people make their way towards the arena. Dante pulls Wormmon in the wagon around a corner. He takes out a small device and places it underneath a counter. Wormmon notices Dante acting strange. "What are you doing, Dante?" "Shush, don't worry about it." Wormmon is suspicious. What was Dante up to? And why wouldn't he tell Wormmon?
With the first round about to begin, it wouldn't be much longer until Dante and Wormmon get their chance to battle. Dante was eager to see what the other combatants were capable of. He plans on getting a great view of the other battles to better understand what he is up against. Even though some of the entrants were still relatively new to being Tamers, there were a few who would pose a great challenge. Only time would tell, and Dante was looking forward to seeing what transpires. |

Amsel was surprised she was going to fight someone named lucamon, her surprise soon turned to excitement. She couldn't wait for it to be thier turn, but for now there were a lot more people who were going to fight first this was the time for her to observe the others strategies and come up with her own.
Dorumon sighed in relief when he saw that they were not going to fight first, he blinked observing the first two that were going to fight. He wondered who would win this fight.

Huh, so we're facing the guy that was sitting by himself, Xavior noted as he saw the pairings. "That's true, and I haven't gotten to see my Digimon in action yet. Since he was created before I actually got started, he might be a lot more experienced than me when it comes to battle," he replied. Now that he thought about it, it would be interesting just to see how Hogo fought. "My first match will be even more interesting since I hadn't seen my opponent's Digimon, so I don't even know what I'm up against yet."
Meanwhile, Hogo had looked away as the pairings were displayed, overhearing mixed reactions from KoShiromon and Kai. Looks like I'll find out soon enough, he thought. "Good luck, Kai," he told the male tamer.

Some kind of weird...fox-dog thing. Nothing particularly impressive, and certainly no match for Lucemon. Yeah, this one's in the bag.

Lopmon eyed the pairings curiously. His own match was against a Kamemon. That shell could prove... bothersome. Still, he might be able to find a way through. It wouldn't do to defeat himself before he ever made it into the ring. He stayed on the fringes, observing the other competitors, one eye open for his opponent. He wondered to himself when the tournament would begin.

The tamers and Digmon all stood around, waiting for the tournament to begin. Dante looked around at all the entrants. He could only wonder if they were getting as impatient as he was. Wormmon starts to get really bored. "Dante! Make the tournament start already! I'm so friggin hungry!" Dante grabs some candy bars from his jacket and hands them to Wormmon. "Oh that's right! I forgot you were wearing your magic candy jacket." "It's not a magic jacket. I just had some candy in my pocket. It's probably all melted by now." Wormmon munches down on the candy bars, without taking off the wrappers first.
Dante leans against the wall and takes out his phone. He browses around on the web for a bit to pass the time. Still no sign of when the combatants would begin battling. Dante was looking forward to facing off against Big Blue in the first round. Just how powerful were they? It would take all of Wormmon's speed and abilities to defeat such a strong opponent. Dante plays around on his phone for a while, but gets bored and puts his phone away. (Thinking) "What am I doing here? Standing around for a tournament that never starts. I'm gonna run out of cigarettes to smoke." Wormmon finishes eating the candy bars. "All right! I'm all jacked up, baby! Let's kick some digi behind! Hoo! Hah!" |
