Tomomi smiles to Takahiro, "That would be pretty interesting. I'd like that." That's pretty neat news. Half American, living in the city...No suprise why there was a difference in family life. American's seem to have a closer relationship with their children. If the situation was different...maybe I wouldn't feel so wrong. But that doesn't soothe Tomomi's heart. Not by a long shot. That was just an excuse.
Tomomi just looks blankly at Scout while he speaks. "Well, I had the assumption you're the expert in this group, Scout," Tomomi says as he rubs the back of his head. Then he catches Scout's wording, and looks at blackagumon, "You mean, he's not your partner Digimon? I mean...according to Demimeramon, I'm his partner." Did Scout not have a partner Digimon? How does that even work?

"Maybe, um. M-Maybe we could listen to some after we eat?" Yay! Someone wasn't immediately making fun of his musical preferences! That's a big deal, seemingly. Takahiro seems happy enough, anyway. He puts the finishing touches on the meal and starts serving up. Four plates (One significantly larger than the others), with some leftovers for Tomi's partner when he wakes up.
As BlackAgumon starts eating his oversized meal, Scout gives a little laugh, "No, we're just friends. I, uh. Don't have a partner..." That seems to be as far as he's going to go, but fortunately Takahiro takes over. "Scout, uh. He, um. He can change into Digimon by using ancient totems from the Digital World, stored in his D-Scanner. So he doesn't need a partner like we do,"
More concepts! Clearly Tomi wasn't being overloaded enough with so much nonsense in one day.

Tomomi's eyes emit a warm glow, "I'd like that a lot." Tomomi takes a seat and starts to dig into the noodles as if he's never eaten in his life, as politely as he can. Thankfully, slurping is generally accepted as gratitude and a signal to the chef of a job well done...as least in the country. "This is delicious, Taka-kun! Thank you so much!"
Hearing the words delicious stirred Kami out of his slumber, as he flew over to the left overs and went at them way more intense than Tomomi could ever...then again this is the first meal of his life. The sounds of slurping, yums and overall bliss can be heard coming from the tiny fireball.
While eating, Takahiro drops the bomb that Scout can become Digimon. Tomomi freezes mid chew. A single noodle hangs out of his mouth and he stares at Scout. He slowly slurps it up. I'm sorry, did I hear that right?? That's so cool!! It was hard for Tomomi to contain his excitement at this. He leaned to Scout and trying to hold back asks, "That's really amazing, Scout! What kind of Digimon have you become?" Wow, become ancient fighters yourself. That would be truly something.
Post by Takahiro Evans on Jan 18, 2016 21:20:38 GMT
Takahiro is delighted! A friend he can share interests with! That's so cool. Not that he doesn't appreciate BlackAgumon, Scout and Petermon...but BlackAgumon doesn't understand music very well, Scout has different tastes, and Petermon thinks modern music is the worst thing ever. He starts eating as well, although with less gusto than his seemingly starved new friend.
"Oh, um. Th-thankyou, Tomi-Sama. San. ...Uh..." He falls silent again, his cheeks returning to their bright red coloration. They're gonna stick like that, at this rate. Scout chuckles in response to his brother's...awkwardness.
"What...? Oh, uh," Erk, sensitive subject, maybe? "Something kinda like BlackAgumon, just, uh...bigger. And orange. A fire wizard. And a fire warrior in metal armor. He has pretty...nice hair, actually," He snorts, and quirks a brow. Well, it's true. It's the first thing people notice about Agunimon. No surprise he didn't mention the other one.
"So, um. What...what do you do besides...all of this, and listening to music, Tomi-S...Tomi?" Way to save it, Taka.
Post by Nakamura Tomomi on Jan 18, 2016 21:39:14 GMT
Tomomi can't even react to the level of cute awkwardness Takahiro threw out at him. San? There's no need for him to use that....Oh wow, he's blushing. He blushes really...Stop it Tomomi. Throw out the notion. He just nods at Takahiro.
Scout's amazing ability leaves Tomomi confounded. A big version of Blackagumon? Wizards? Warriors in armor? Does he want to fight the forces of evil with this guy? The answer is an overwhelming yes! "Nice hair, huh? Well, it'd be pretty cool to see." He leans in a little more, as to give Scout a promise, "When I'm as strong as you and Taka-kun, I want to fight the bad guys with you. That's my goal."
Tomomi heard Takahiro's question, and as much as he'd love to keep talking Digital Monsters, Takahiro was giving him a very polite hint. So Tomomi scooted his chair closer to Takahiro, "Honestly, nothing as fancy as you or your brother I bet. My grandfather is a priest at the local temple, and I'd like to learn to be one as well." He has a warm glow on his face, "My grandfather is the greatest. He is also very skilled with a sword. He promised to teach me on my 16th birthday." Tomomi is not by any means comfortable with a weapon, but has practiced a little bit with a wooden sword. His grandfather taught him basic strike patterns. He turned solemn for a minute, "My father has raised me to be a farmer...I don't want anything to do with though..." He looked off. This was a sensitive subject for Tomomi. He, unlike the boys, had a life chosen for him. He didn't want to talk about this by any means, but he can trust Takahiro with a little information. As a friend, he's earned it.

"Maybe...I'll show you some time," And seemingly, that's all Scout has to say on the matter. It's not like Agunimon was even the one who hurt him. He just doesn't want anything to do with his D-Scanner while that other...that other thing is still inside of it. He's vaguely aware that he's starting to think of them as separate individuals, maybe because they have minor effects on his personality. Well. Some of them are minor.
Takahiro cuts in to save the day again! Good boy. “Oh, um. A priest? Th-that's cool, Tomi,” Of course he seems genuinely interested in this. He seems to be interested in everything. “I...uh. I'm sorry, I don't know what else to ask. I don't know much about...know much about temples, or supernatural...stuff. We aren't...”
Scout takes over, as his brother looks to him for help, “Mom and dad wanted us to find our own belief systems, so we weren't really exposed to stuff like that as kids. I guess whatever we believe hasn't taken us to temples yet!”
Takahiro nods, “But, um. I'd...I'd love to hear about it, if you're willing to tell me,” He gives a smile that is...nothing like Scout's. There's no sense of bubbly energy or anything like that, it's just cute. Ugh. “A sword? Wow. That's...that's amazing! Maybe you can practice with Petermon sometime. He's pretty good with his sword, as you, uh. You saw he was decent with his sword in the Digital World,”
“A farmer? Oh. Well, that could be fun! But I'm sure your dad's just happy that you've worked out you definitely want to take a different direction in life. And besides, you know what you want to do! That's way more than I've got worked out!” A little more energy bleeds into Scout, hands moving a lot more as he talks.
BlackAgumon snorts, “Kid, you can't even figure out the oven timer, let alone life plans,”
Scout gently bops him on the head, “Hey, quiet down, you, or it'll be fried lizard for breakfast!” The two laugh, and...for a brief moment it seems just like old times. BlackAgumon and Scout ribbing each other at the dinner table, no doubt embarrassing their family to no end.
Post by Nakamura Tomomi on Jan 18, 2016 23:14:42 GMT
Tomomi responded to Scout's words with a bright smile. This really intrigued him. On the other hand, talking about home did not. He knew Takahiro meant well, so he wouldn't go so far as to react harshly. It's actually nice that Takahiro was so interested in Tomomi's life so far. And he was never upset about choosing to be Shinto. He loved to go to the temple.
"Well, guys. I can tell you the core concept, and it's not like most religions that are out there. The gods are in everything. Everything we see, everything we eat..."Everything we eat...oh no, I forgot to give thanks for the food! This must be the darkness pushing me away. What was Tomomi to think? Being raised the way he was, he can't even remember not thanking the powers that be for the meal...not to forget allowing him to continue living today. But there's no way that Takahiro and Scout are evil...are they? What if all of this is a test to bring him back to Kyoto...back to the light? You could leave now. Go to your brothers. Go home in the morning. Face your consequences, and your destiny. He kept looking around, starting to sweat. Takahiro's compliment about swordplay was more or less not heard due to all the tension rising in him.
When Scout guessed that Tomomi had his life figured out, Tomomi couldn't take it anymore. "You think I know what I'm doing?" His hands clenched into fists, the tears started to fall from his face. Blackagumon and Scout bicker as he contemplates the darkness inside. He was losing control, but why? He let his guard down. If he isn't careful, he's going to scare them. Possibly hurt Takahiro. "There is nothing I want more than to just be myself, but my entire life I was told it was wrong. I was wrong." The tears become a flash flood, as he lowered his head, trying to stop himself. Calm down, he doesn't know what he's talking about."My father...doesn't know a single thing about me, aside from what he wants me to be, no questions asked." He slams his hands on the table and stands up, "HOW IS THAT EVEN CLOSE TO GOOD?!" He starts to breathe heavily, the tears turned into open sobbing. All of this was directed at Scout, who had the nerve to even assume he knew what was going on in his life.
All Demimeramon wanted to do right now is give Tomomi some comfort. "Tomi, I don't think that Taka or Scout really mind that you're...."
It was a surprise that Tomomi would even let Demimeramon get so far as the word that. "DON'T YOU DARE DEMIMERAMON. DON'T YOU EVEN DARE." This was solemn yelling. The type of yells that Tomi's father said when Tomomi refused to conform to his ideal life. He looked at Demimeramon with a fierce intensity. He didn't ever call Demimeramon by his type. This shook Kami up. He realized that wasn't the right thing to say, and just looked down.
And then he looked at Takahiro. Sweet, innocent, Takahiro. How did Tomomi allow himself to be this rude, this angry in front of him. He stared at Takahiro's eyes, and feared that all ties they created today were destroyed in one burst of foolish words. He'll never speak to me again. I'll never be able to rest my eyes on his warm, grey eyes...Nor should I be able to.
And with that, dinner was over for Tomomi. He ran to the door as fast as he could, and sat outside sobbing into his arms as his body fell to the floor. This will always be a part of me, there's no killing it. How do I make this go away? "I'm...such a failure..." Tomomi says to himself.
Post by Takahiro Evans on Jan 18, 2016 23:39:17 GMT
“Oh, okay. That's...um. That's actually very interesting,” And Takahiro seems to really mean that! “I'd love to hear, um. Hear more about it when you have the time, and, uh. Well, if you have the time and the...y'know. Inclination,”
Scout and BlackAgumon stop their friendly bickering, both turning their attention back to Tomomi as he...is he crying? This is usually the point where Scout would get up and hug him, but he's...glued to his seat, it seems. They just sit and listen, as he gets louder, and louder.
Takahiro stares as well, eyes going wide as the volume increases. What...is going on here? Petermon is probably the least confused out of all of them, but he's ready to intervene if something physical starts. Obviously.
As Tomomi leaves, there's a pause of a few moments before Takahiro walks after him, closing the door as he exits the apartment. Scout groans, “What...why the hell did I open my mouth...” He pushes his dish away, and stands to leave. He jumps, suddenly, causing BlackAgumon to inquire if he was alright. “Uh, fine. Static shock,” It was a lie, of course. He'd seen those hollow eyes peering from inside boney eye sockets in a reflection cast on the worktop. SkullGreymon was never going away...
He is, however. He heads to his room.
Takahiro sits down against the wall next to Tomomi, and wraps his arms around his own knees as he draws them up to his chest. “...Tomi. I. I don't know what it was that...my brother said, but he wouldn't try to upset you,” He knows that much for certain, “...If this is whatever it was before, I think it's, um. It might be something you need to deal with. I'm not saying, uh, that you should tell me. If you need to talk, I'm happy to listen, but...” He sighs. He's thirteen. He can't deal with two broken older boys, “I know we're just new friends, but. I don't like seeing you unhappy, Tomi-Sama,”
Post by Nakamura Tomomi on Jan 19, 2016 0:05:33 GMT
Tomi-Sama. How Takahiro could even use an honorific after blowing up like that confuses Tomomi.
But how does Tomomi even start this conversation? After being absolutely dreadful to Scout, Takahiro still came after Tomomi, to make him feel better. His body shifts to lean towards Takahiro, slightly touching arms. His light might be the one thing that brings him out of this darkness.
"Taka-kun..." He says, still choking on tears, but trying desperately to compose himself. "You're too good to me. Truly, the gods must have been especially kind when they created you." He looks down, his eyes full of pain, the redness only makes the crystal blue eyes shine an unnatural bright color.
"I am...I have a darkness growing inside me. Or, at least, my father says it is. With you, it feels more of a light. Whatever the case, I'm not sure how to think about it...or feel. I'm just helpless to its call." He looks up at Takahiro. The glow in his chest feels brighter. "I don't know what's right and what's wrong. And I don't want to hurt you."
Tomomi sighs deeply, "I ran away from home to confront this conflict, or remove it from me completely. I want to make my family proud...but I'm not sure I can. They are so different from yours...at least I think they are." This release of information made Tomomi feel really good. But he couldn't go that much further with it.
He reaches his arm out to Takahiro, and places his hand on the back of his head, almost on his neck, "I want to tell you everything...I just don't think I can. I'm...I'm afraid to. So much. Because I don't know if it's me...and if I say it out loud, it becomes real..."
Post by Takahiro Evans on Jan 19, 2016 0:15:39 GMT
Takahiro frowns, and reaches out, putting a hand on Tomi's knee, hesitantly. He's not very good at comforting people, but he's seen Scout do it often enough. And his dad! “Tomi-Sama. I promise that whatever it is, it...whatever it is won't change how I see you. I don't see a darkness inside you,” He takes a deep breath, “I don't like to speak ill of people, but...your father is wrong. I don't care...I don't care what it is, it can't be as bad as you're making it out to be,”
He shakes his head, “You don't have to tell me anything. But you can. I won't think less of you either way. Neither will...Scout, or anyone here. If your family hate it that much, stay with us. For now. My mom...mom always says there's always a solution people don't see, without help. I want to help you, however I can,” Take the boy you just met today into your home? Creepy! Although to be fair, his family have a history of going to silly lengths to help people. And it usually worked out well for them. Heck, they've taken in two friends of Scout now, over the last couple of years, and it all worked out.
“You...I...mm. Look, I've only known you a day, but your family should be proud of you, Tomi-Sama,” He nods, sagely, “You're intelligent, you're funny, you're kind and caring. What else could...what else could anyone w-want from someone?”
He gives the boy's knee a very gentle squeeze, trying to re-assure him, “If you tell me, we can face whatever it is together, okay? That's...well, that's what friends are for. And if you don't? Then I've still got your back, okay?” Cobbled together from things he's heard his dad say over the years, but he means every single word of it.

Liking other boys is bad, Thought Tomomi as the words fell out of Takahiro's mouth. Still, Takahiro would be there for Tomomi. This is...this feels right. Takahiro could be the answer to all of Tomomi's questions. He lets his body react from here. Which is to wrap his arms around Takahiro and cry. He shouldn't be crying in the arms of someone a year younger than him. But his feelings are his, and for one moment in his life, he allows it to be okay. His mouth is next to Takahiro's ear, and he gently whispers, "One day, I'll be able to. When I can face myself. Just be patient with me until then."
The thought of staying with Takahiro overwhelmed him, but in a good way. He's starting to feel as if running away was the best idea he ever had. He felt Takahiro shaking. And he couldn't blame him, it was getting cold at night. "If...if you don't mind, I would be eternally grateful. In fact, I already am. Let's get you inside." Tomomi stood up and held his hand out to help Takahiro up.
Post by Takahiro Evans on Jan 19, 2016 0:38:48 GMT
“I'll be as patient as you need me to be,” Takahiro wraps his arms around the boy, and gives him a squeeze. He's not very good at hugs, either, but...well. He's always wanted more, so. As selfish as it is, he isn't minding this too much...
“But until then, if you need anything. A, uh. A place to sleep for the night, a meal, someone to...someone to t-talk to, or just a hug...you come here, okay? Day or night,” He pauses, “Unless I'm at school. D-dad might give you one if he's in, though,” It's true, his dad is worse than Scout. He'll hug basically anyone.
Takahiro takes the hand and accepts the help getting up with a small smile, “I think maybe you should, um. It might be best if you crash with us, tonight, Tomi. You can have my bed,” How kind! But also, to be fair, they're currently lacking a spare room. Storage issues. “Besides. I, um. I don't want to end our first day on a sad note,” Smiiiiiiile. How can you say no to that face, Tomi?!
Post by Nakamura Tomomi on Jan 19, 2016 0:56:37 GMT
Tomomi can't say no to that face. He couldn't after fifteen minutes of knowing him! And now, Takahiro's hand was in his. It felt...nice. He didn't want to burden Takahiro's family...but it was getting late. He could see his brother tomorrow. He would refuse the offer politely, on a normal occasion. But there was nothing normal about this day at all. "You're an amazing person Taka-kun. I'd love to stay over. That way we can listen to Bon Jovi." He wanted to lighten the mood a little, escape the pain he inflicted, even for a little bit.
Tomomi stopped for a second, "But first...I need to apologize to your brother, as well as Kami."
The door was left open, so Tomomi lead Takahiro in. He first went to Demimeramon and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry little guy. You know more about me than I know myself."
Demimeramon blinked a few times before he carefully chose his words, "Were you able to..." he leans in for a whisper, "tell him?"
Tomomi smiled a little, "I can't yet, Kami. But I think I will...when I have the right way to say it."
Tomomi walked up to Scout's door. If he was to stay in this house, he needed to apologize for what he said. He knocked twice, and swallowed.
Post by Takahiro Evans on Jan 19, 2016 1:06:08 GMT
Takahiro watches, and waits. There's no answer, and so he crosses the room and squeezes Tomi's shoulder, feeling a little more confident with this whole physical contact thing! “Give him some time. M-my brother...Scout's going through a rough patch. Some stuff happened to him,” He sighs, “He's...not himself. Please don't h-hold it against him,”
He nods to Petermon, who just sort of...hovers backwards and disappears into the shadows in the corner of the room. A pair of red eyes remain for a moment, before they vanish entirely. How creepy! Takahiro removes his hand, and turns to head into a room at the other end of the apartment.
Assuming Tomi follows, he'd find a fairly ordinary teenager's bedroom. A built-in closet, a one-man bed, thick carpeting and a computer desk in the corner. Nothing especially fancy. Takahiro turns on a desk lamp to provide some illumination to the room, without blinding them both using the main lights.
Takahiro puts his black plastic-framed glasses back on. There are a few scattered images here and there. Decent quality, mostly sketched out in pencil. One of his D3 next to an apple. One of Petermon moving around at high speed. One of an armored warrior with a mane of long hair. Etcetera. Next to those, on the desk, are a few books detailing various languages (Scout said Takahiro was a linguist, after all!). And finally a relatively high-end looking computer.
Post by Nakamura Tomomi on Jan 19, 2016 1:25:10 GMT
Well, my explosion didn't help him at all... Poor Scout. If there was any chance of bringing him out of his funk, Tomomi ensured it wouldn't be that night. He didn't know what to say to Takahiro, so he just let it be. Well, if you can't make one brother happy, why not make the other?
Tomomi followed Takahiro into his room. And was he impressed! Wow, look at all these neat things! As soon as Takahiro said make yourself at home, Tomomi took it quite literally. He immediately looked at the drawings.
"Taka-kun...you drew these?" Tomomi stared at the work, looking at every page in detail. "You're really an amazing artist!"
He sat on the bed and looked at Takahiro with an innocent smile, "So...is Bon Jovi a person or a band?"
Demimeramon waltzed in behind the boys, and watched Petermon dissipate into the shadows. Demimeramon tried to follow suite. His weak link was...he was a body of flame.
