"Because they are people, kid. That's what they do! That's how they survive! It's called the pursuit of happiness, kid. It's survival of the fittest and crap like that. I do what I have to do and you do what you have to. Nobody gets hurt until someone goes running their mouth off and telling people things they don't need to hear."
Lars noticed that the girl covered her ears over. Was she trying to ignore him? This frustrated him greatly. She didn't have the right to ignore him at this point. Was she also still complaining about lying and cheating? Lars found this to be both adorable and pitiful. On the one hand, she was just so niave and sweet that the thought of bursting her tiny little bubble was too cruel for even him. On the other hand, the fact that she still believed in putting others before herself was utterly pathetic.
"Take your hands off of your ears and listen. No one gets hurt unless someone tells them the truth! Notice how people only get sad when you tell them their family dies? If you tell them that they just got tired of being around them then no one feels bad. Those are two different types of pain, kid. One hurts more than the other."
Lars took a good long look at the girl. She was hunched over, acting as if she were a raving lunatic. She kept shouting over and over again. All of a sudden things seemed to get darker. Lars soon turned his attention to her partner. He was increasing in size to the point where he was starting to intimidate Lars.
As a shockwave rushed towards his silent partner and him, Lars was nearly speechless. He wanted to rant and rave, but no words would come out of his mouth. He sat there as the shock went through his entire body. As bad as it seemed, however, maybe getting the girl to kill at least one of them was a good thing. She might need this. She might even thank them in the end. Besides, he wouldn't be the one to die first if anything.
