I'm Not a Dragonslayer [Kai/Invite]

There was something to be said about 'taking a break'.
To be fair, it was something that Ami felt she had to do. After several months in the Digital World, the once-stellar classmate, Ami Toruga, felt the severe strain of responsibility in the human world. Fitting this alternative life, cram classes, helping at her mom's bakery, and trying to have any iota of a normal social life had put a severe toll on the young woman's free time and sanity. At some point, enough was enough: for these last few months of class, Ami put away her Digivice, knuckled down, and got back to her studies. Reluctantly, her bunny-partner, Valeria, agreed to play the part of a stuffed animal for this time... a sort of vacation from all of the explosions and the like happening in the other world.
But with her classes back in place, she once more felt the call to the Digital World. And at least for a few hours, she was glad to be back, even taking a job to help an older Witchmon find a rare herb in the woods. Little did she know, however, that this herb stood in the territory of a powerful, feral Digimon. And to it, this girl and her fairy Digimon looked like little more than defenseless prey.
BOOM.
"Gah!"
Tearing through the woods, a loud blast swept the tamer off her feet. She had been running for some time, a Digivice tightly clutched in her hand and against her chest as she skidded a few feet across the ground. Gritting her teeth, Ami quickly got back up to a foot and a knee, looking over her shoulder: just behind, the culprit of the blast made itself known with a roar:
Wingdramon. Settling itself on the ground, it took a step forward, crushing the bush underneath, reaching out a hand out to scoop the girl into its claws-
"I said back off!" Cutting out from the Wingdramon's side, the tamer's partner, a champion-level plant-fairy called a 'Chisiomon', broke through, aiming its palm right at the Wingdramon's face. A flurry of sharp petals tore forward, scratching at the dragon's face... just enough for it to roar out, and retreat its claws to its eyes.
"V... Val-" The human was cut off, as she was pulled up to her feet by her partner.
"C'mon... any luck with the Digivice?"
"Tch..." Shaking her head, and seeing the dragon start to right itself again, Ami turned, the pair moving deeper into the woods. And the dragon, sensing their movement, gave one more proud roar, tearing its way after them.
If this kept going the way it was... well...

A roar tore through the forest, snapping Kai out of his own thoughts. "Wha... What was that?" The boy stammered, startled. Whatever it was... It sounded big. And dangerous. He should get out of there. And he would, if it weren't for his Digimon partner having other ideas. The white creature, which, if not for the pure white eyes, could be mistaken for a cat, was named Shiro. And when he heard that roar, Kai could just imagine his eyes lighting up with excitement. "Ha! Last one there's a rotten Digi-egg!" The Digimon yelped, before bounding off into the underbrush.
A pair of groans emanated from the ones left behind. Kai, the human, and Shiro's sister Kuro. Kuro was as black as Shiro was white, but unlike Shiro, her form was more akin to a ferret, weasel, or mink. "I suppose we had better find him before something eats him," Kuro said from her accustomed perch curled around Kai's neck. A completely unnecessary statement, of course, as Kai had already begun to tear through after his rambunctious partner.
Kai was, as Shiro put it, a rotten Digi-egg.
"Pick on someone your own size!" Shiro was shouting at a rather large draconic digimon. Considering Shiro's... Relatively diminutive stature, it was unsurprising that he was ignored completely. Much to Kai's relief... Until he saw what was in front of the Digimon. A human girl, and a Digimon. Crap. Kai didn't know if it was a Tamer and her partner, or what. To be fair, it didn't really matter. What did matter was that she was clearly in trouble.
Kai fumbled for his digivice. He needed to do something. Anything. Fortunately... He had recently managed to evolve his partners further, to reach the Ultimate stage. He had no way of knowing how strong this dragon was... But he had to hope that that was enough. It should, at the very least, distract the Digimon for long enough that the two it was chasing could escape. He hoped. "Twin... Digivolution!" He called, Kuro leaping from his shoulder so her evolved weight would not crush the frail human.
Like the last time Kuro and Shiro had evolved to Ultimate, the two were enveloped in orbs of energy, matching their colors. The orbs began to meld... But like before, the fusion stopped suddenly, snapping back, and carrying some of the other with them as they did so. It was... Odd. Kai almost felt like the sequence seemed to be a failure... But clearly that wasn't the case... Right? After all, After this strange happening, the orbs retreated to reveal forms that were clearly not Kuro and Shiro's champion forms. Large, bipedal creatures, similar to Wingdramon in size. Shiro, who was declaring his new form ("Yangmon!") even had a pair of massive wings like Wingdramon! Kuro ("Yinmon."), on the other hand, did not. And as a result of the odd fusion/defusion, each had a set of line-and-dot markings in the opposite color, trailing off from their eyes, which had taken on the color of their counterpart.
Shiro wasted no time in blatantly body slamming the other Digimon. "Don't... Ignore... Me!" he yelled. Shiro does not like being ignored. Even if it is for very obvious and sensible reasons. In any case, his new form... Was quite a bit harder to ignore. Hopefully that should take some heat off the other human, and the Digimon that was with her. Kai took a step back. He had a feeling this was going to get messy, and had no interest in being in the middle of a three-Digimon clash. Kuro, on the other hand, took a step forward. She was, as in previous forms, not built as sturdily as her brother- And of course, she had a dislike of getting her paws dirty. But that didn't stop her from providing cover for her brother, declaring "Yin Blast!" as she fired a black orb from her mouth, at the Digimon Shiro was currently locked in close combat with.

Alright, focus, Ami... once you get Valeria to ultimate-
"Pick on someone your own size!"
What was that? As a foreign sound rang through the woods, Ami chanced a glance over her shoulder, seeing some sort of rookie-cat Digimon trying to... intimidate the dragon? She gave a mental swear, almost glad that the dragon decided to ignore the feline entirely. Valeria, however, took a more direct shout: "Get out of h- tch!" Roughly grabbing her partner's arm, she pulled her away, deeper in the woods, the dragon's fangs dripping with flame. After all, the Wingdramon didn't have to worry about...
...
Two glowing rookie-level animals. With a curious growl, the dragon turned to acknowledge the previously insignificant feline, only to find something entirely different charging right at it! "Graugh!" It wasn't defenseless at this range, however! Instead of trying to get out of the way of the charging cat, the wild dragon planted its feet into the ground, and moved to meet his claws with the incoming feline's front shoulders! Should it manage, it would skid a little, but then hold Yangmon in a tight grapple.
With a powerful attack already built up in his lungs. A sonic breath would tear forth a moment later, a hot stream of flaming breath tearing out at incredible speed! And at point-blank range, it would be quite difficult to dodge-
"Grawl!"
With its shoulder struck by some sort of black ball, the dragon would wince, the breath halting as it tried to hold its position. For the fighters, even two-on-one, Yinmon and Yangmon would have their hands full...
... But this whole development just unfolded before the spectators' eyes. And Ami had a decision: should she just run, and let these two handle it? Clutching her Digivice, she gave a step forward, before her partner reached out, and grabbed Ami's arm.
"No. If we can't get stronger, we'll just hold them back... c'mon." After a moment, Ami relented, moving in the background with her partner. Not away from the fight, no, but behind Yinmon, closer to Kai.
"Hey, thanks for giving us a hand here!" Keeping her voice positive, Valeria gave a smile, accompanied by Ami's pained grunt. "Ah, are you-"
"Fine enough." Clutching her shoulder, apparently shrugging it off for the moment, she turned to Kai. "Sorry for just... dropping this on you. Think these two can handle it?"

Shiro had a very simple policy when it came to attacks. He was the strongest, so obviously there was no need to dodge. Or defend. And he would be quite upset if it was suggested otherwise. After all, that would mean that you thought Shiro was actually weaker than someone! So it didn't really matter to him that he was being struck at point blank range- Even as he was hit by his foe's attack. As the heat wave washed over him, the Digimon's mouth curled upward in a grin- Or a grimace. Knowing Shiro, almost certainly the former. "You... Call... That... Fire!?" Shiro roared, moving to mirror the Wingdramon's grapple.
It appeared neither of the pair were willing to give ground. Only time would tell if that was the right choice- As one would fall. Shiro had a distinct advantage, though- Kuro had his back, and while she lacked the brute strength of her brother, the fact that she was actually willing to think before acting made her just as dangerous. Meanwhile, Wingdramon was right in Shiro's sweet spot: Up close and personal. Where his less than stellar speed was made up for by proximity.
Shiro opened his mouth wide, a ball of energy forming in it, similar to the one Kuro had just launched, only white in color. "Yang... Fire... Blast!" The orb, a compilation of Shiro's internal energy and pure, elemental fire, flew forth from the white Digimon. Let's see how Wingdramon likes a taste of his own medicine.
Kuro, meanwhile, was caught in the slightly awkward position of having to both make sure that the humans were safe, while also supporting her brother. "Mist Veil." she declared, a sudden and thick fog gathering to obscure her, as well as the two humans and the weaker Digimon. With any luck, that would keep their foe from attacking the humans, leaving her free to help Shiro.
"It's no problem, really... Well, I hope it isn't." Kai hoped he didn't sound quite as nervous as he felt. This was Kuro and Shiro's first proper fight in this form... He just really didn't know what to expect. He knew Shiro well enough to know... That while the white Digimon was strong, and could easily take several hits from his opponent... That wouldn't matter unless he managed to land a few back in return. And Shiro didn't have the best track record with landing blows. It would... Almost certainly be up to Kuro to make up for that.
I... Think so. But we should get you out of here- This fog won't last forever. How bad is it?" The boy asked, referring to her wound. He himself had only recently recovered from his own injury- A BlackGarurumon bite that had gone right through his arm, ribs, and a few organs. He was lucky to be alive after that... Fortunately, this girl didn't seem that injured. "I'm Kai, by the way. Those two are Kuro and Shiro." It should be obvious which was which- Kai hadn't exactly given them the most imaginative names.

To Wingdramon, Shiro's taunts were nothing more than some sort of intelligible growling. However, he did recognize this new opponent's power, the Wingdramon's claws gripping to keep the opponent close. Though he was much better in the sky, this feral beast was still no slouch for power. As long as he could keep the opponent near like this, it would be very simple just to continue peppering him with sonic breath.
Of course, the dragon had no knowledge of Shiro's abilities. But it could guess, and could see everything that the opponent would try to do at this range. And when a giant ball of light started building up in Shiro's fangs, the Wingdramon didn't hesitate himself. Power built up in his own chest, and without hesitation, he aimed right towards Yangmon's open mouth. While Yangmon would be a slow, powerful Digimon, Wingdramon had the speed closer to his sister. And instead of trying to push away, dodge, or even break the grapple, he just held on tighter. Right when Yangmon would let forth his blast, the Wingdramon would counter at point-blank with his own Sonic Breath, a beam of flame aiming right for the ball in Shiro's mouth, and its direct flight path.
Should it hit? Well, it would detonate between them. And if this attack was as strong as Shiro boasted it to be, Wingdramon wouldn't be the only one with singed skin. Heck, it would likely blast them apart!
Elsewhere, cooler heads prevailed. As Shiro occupied the Wingdramon, Valeria and Ami would soon find a thick fog encompassing the remaining four of them. Briefly, Valeria gave an appreciative nod towards Kuro. Though Kai sounded nervous, he did seem to have a good head about him... perhaps they could rely on him?
"I'll... see if we can help. Sorry, just been a bit out of the loop lately." Ami's words weren't that of a beginner, and her tone, not exactly that of someone caught unaware. No, she seemed more frustrated than anything, staring through the mist... until Kai brought up the topic of retreating, and her injury. "It's fine. Bruised, probably, but can't worry about that too much."
"... Isn't it kind of dangerous to keep out of sight of your partner, though?" Hearing some sort of detonation in the fight, the fairy winced. "... After all. Sounds absolutely lively out there."
"Sorry. I'm Ami, and she's Valeria." Giving just a quick nod, and keeping in pace with Kai, Ami turned towards the noise of the fight. The fairy, however, moved nearer Kuro, biting her lip.
"... Actually. If Shiro already has him that close? Why don't we all just jump in at once?" Risky, but perhaps there was something to be said about numbers here!

The ensuing explosion rocked the forest, knocking the two combatants apart. Kai winced at the sight of his partner being blown away, but as the dust settled, the white Digimon did not seem the worse for wear. If anything... He seemed to be enjoying himself. Of course he was- Kai was finally letting him try out his new power! He was ready to see just how far he could go with it! And of course, the idea that he might lose was nowhere near his mind. No matter how big he got... Shiro just didn't change.
Shiro launched himself at the dragon. With its speed, it could easily get out of the way if it so chose... But it would have to choose carefully which way it dodged in, for Kuro had made full use of her own speed to cover the Digimon's left side, cutting off escape in the direction. "Yin Earth Blast" the black Digimon declared, firing a ball of charged energy. But not directly at their opponent, but rather towards his legs. Her attack was faster than her brothers, so Wingdramon would have to react to it first... And doing so would give Shiro plenty of time to redirect his course to the dragon's new location. In theory, at least.
Meanwhile, hidden in the trees, Kai was having a... Less than casual, but probably less stressed than it could be, conversation. Wish we could have met under better circumstances... We can talk after we deal with this guy!" He turned to the digimon. "Err... I'll be the first to admit, I'm not an experienced or skilled fighter. If you think we could get him with a combined attack, then..." Kai peeked out from behind a tree to scope out the situation. "Well, first we have to get him to stand still. He escaped from Shiro, and I suspect he'll be in no hurry to wrestle again. Just... If you're going to join in... Be careful."
He had no idea how strong Valeria was... But judging by what he'd seen before he'd interfered, she was barely a match for the dragon. But if she thought that a combined attack would take it down... Well, which one of them was the Digimon here? If Ami was willing to follow through on that plan... It was about all they had. "At the very least... We should try to drive it away. It's already outnumbered, so if we can put some more pressure on it... We might be able to convince it to flee, not being worth the trouble to stay."

Kai had a point: the tricky bit was going to be trying to get this Wingdramon to stay still again. The early boon of Shiro's grapple, and the resulting explosion that singed its' scales, was at least a good start... but the moment that the dragon gained distance, Wingdramon would take the advantage. With one powerful beat of its wings, the feet left the ground, Wingdramon threatening to take this fight into the sky. The below earth blast would soar beneath its feet: the only annoyance left was Shiro, standing in its flight path.
Without distance, the dragon couldn't use its sonic moves. So instead, it moved to fly off to its right and forward, trying to slip past Shiro. Another stream of flame would be shot forth, aiming for the white Digimon's chest. If Shiro wanted to get at him, it looked like he was going to have to thrust himself into the center of the flame!
"Graugh!"
"Believe me, I wish we could have met somewhere safe as well." Ami wasted no further time: as Valeria started to talk about strategy, Ami pulled open her Digivice, a holographic screen projecting outwards. Aiming the tracker towards the Wingdramon, an image of the dragon was displayed, suspended before them.
"What's the scoop?"
"Wingdramon. Vaccine Ultimate, able to breath fire and use its claws... and fly near the speed of sound. Rare that it would be in such a thick forest then... maybe its in our favor?"
"Maybe." Giving a nod, the fairy looked over to Kai, giving a small smirk. "Don't worry, we all started somewhere. If speed's what we need, maybe I can hitch a ride on her back?" She glanced towards Kuro, as if presenting the idea to her. "I might be a level down, but there's one 'punch' I can give it that'll spook it... even like this."

How quaint. It was almost as if Wingdramon expected Shiro to not make the stupidest and simplest move possible. That is to say, Shiro veered to the right, diving headfirst into the oncoming flames. Perhaps, if Wingdramon had intended to slow him down, this would be enough to catch the dragon off guard. Not that Shiro thought that far ahead, of course. He just wasn't about to get a few flames get between him and his foe- And refused to acknowledge the cost on his body. His inner Yang element may have an affinity for the heat and flame, but that didn't mean his flesh and blood did! The white Digimon's wings unfurled as he plowed through the flames- If Wingdramon wanted a sky battle, he'd get one.
Either way, the white Digimon was picking up some serious momentum from his headlong dash. Whatever he collided with was definitely going to feel it. Kuro, meanwhile, fired a "Yin Blast!" to Wingdramon's upper right- He could either keep going in that direction and take the hit, or try to dodge both it and Shiro. Neither was exactly recommended. She hadn't fought very much, but it was clear she was learning how to work with and around the idiotic simplicity of her brother.
"You have got to teach me how to do that." Kai stated, looking at the holographic display on Ami's digivice. No matter where he went, he just saw more and more proof that he knew practically nothing about being a Tamer. How long had Ami been a tamer anyways? He'd have to ask... After they dealt with this situation! "Err.... Yeah. Kuro won't like it... But I think she'll be able to handle it. And I know she can pull it off." Hey, just because Kai didn't feel very close to his partners, didn't mean he didn't have faith in their abilities. "I just hope it works."

Indeed, Shiro's move was reckless, to say the least. Diving right through an obvious stream of flame, just to keep a forward charge at the enemy? At the way he was coming, this was going to do more than singe a little fur... some might have just called it outright stupid! But a certain fairy, watching from a short distance, only gave a smirk.
"He's got a knack for this, don't he?"
Yes: although Shiro was going to get burned, it put him right on the closest flight-path to Wingdramon. As the blue dragon passed, he was eventually forced to turn his neck away, and face forward, to try and put some distance between himself and the white dragon, turning further right than it had initially planned. And although he would skirt Shiro's push, Kuro's blast hit the dragon square in the back, making it stagger, wings giving an extra beat to stay afloat. At least, for this moment, both the Wingdramon's back would be turned on them and it would move a bit slower than Shiro!
"Hey, if we're already rolling this well, we should get a move-on!" With Kai's permission (much less Kuro's), Valeria had already torn away, approaching the black Digimon nearby. Unlike her partner, Kuro didn't have wings... but here in the forest, that wouldn't matter unless their target could break the canopy.
"Sorry about this. But if you can drop me off close, I've got an idea..." Presuming she would be allowed, Valeria would get on Kuro's back, and call out to Ami: "Keep trying on the Digivice!"
"Understood!" Well, this plan was moving quickly. At Kai's comment about the Digivice, Ami gave a chuckle: "Its a plug-in. I've been at this for quite a while... I wouldn't be overly concerned." If the fight was already going this well?
"They'll get roughed up. But they'll be fine."

Slightly singed, but reveling in it at the same time, Shiro was not one to pass up this opportunity. "Just... Stand... Still! Yang... Fire... Claw!" Shiro's entire forearm began to glow, similar to the energy ball he had fired earlier. Five sharp claws, charged with pure energy, raking towards Wingdramon's exposed back. A powerful blow if it lands, to be sure... And between Kuro and Valeria, landing it was the goal.
Just hold on tight." Kuro snarled, understanding that now was not the time to complain about having a rider muss up her hair. Giving the much smaller Digimon a few seconds to clamber on... And Kuro was off. She was... Remarkably fast for a Digimon her size, closing the gap between them and the Wingdramon in moments. No... Not just closing, the black Digimon had circled full around it, and was staring it in the face. Very in the face. "This close enough?" she growled, staring down the dragon.
"I just hope this works." muttered Kai.

"W... will do." Sheesh, what was her issue? Pushing that unpleased snarl to the back of her head, Valeria carefully wrapped her arms around Kuro's sides. And indeed, she was fast, definitely fast enough to keep up with a Wingdramon this close to the ground! At first gripping a bit harder due to the lurch, the fairy kept herself low against Kuro's back, like a proper rider.
Before them, Shiro's attack would land its mark: with the temporarily stunned Wingdramon, the claws would tear its way across its scales, roughly across its wings. The slash would push it right back against the ground, skidding several feet across mud and stone. With a grimace on its face, it would stagger back up to its feet...
... Right when Kuro and Valeria reached the front. "Keep moving!" Seeing the Wingdramon's eyes focus on them, Valeria pushed herself away from Kuro's back. The dragon would track the faster creature... until it would notice Valeria moving right towards its chest!
"Explosive palm!" Shoving both of her hands forward, a red and blue blast would radiate from her left and right hands, respectively, enough to make it skid backwards, legs buckling. Right there, Valeria floated, right in front: though she was a champion, it would have been enough to make the dragon have to work to get through her.
Which it would try to do: parting its fangs, preparing another fiery blast towards the fairy, the dragon would look on as Valeria stood her ground.
"... Trusting them this much already?"

Shiro wasn't quite high enough to properly divebomb Wingdramon... But he didn't let that stop him, as he dropped roughly onto Wingdramon's back. "Nuh-uh. You lose. Give up." the white Digimon stated, before stomping down harshly on the other Digimon's head. So much for the last ditch attack. With a foot on his lance and another on his head, the full weight of Shiro on his back... Wingdramon was not going anywhere for the moment. "Really." remarked Kuro, looking at the dragon disapprovingly. "Don't you have anything better to do? Like, not get beaten up? Seems like a much better use of time."
Kai looked on, slightly relieved. "Err... What now? Somehow, I don't think it will just get up and leave quietly when Shiro gets off..." But he also didn't really feel comfortable just coldly declaring, "Kill it." It seemed... Way too cold. Hopefully Ami had a better idea. And he wasn't sure what exactly she meant about trust... Trusting Kai and his partners to keep Wingdramon from attacking? He hoped that was it.

"Huff... alright then. Don't know how much I was needed, but that'll do it..."
With the dragon successfully pinned by Shiro, and Kuro walking around, Valeria finally took a moment to catch her breath. All things considered, this had turned out quite well... perhaps the only thing that would have been better would be to not be in debt to these other two, but still! A slightly further distance away, Ami took a brief sigh of relief, until Kai's question hit her ears. And as she looked on at the dragon, it was true: it did look like it had a little bit of fight left in him, even trying to struggle underneath Shiro's feet even now.
"... Leave that one to her. You got something, Valeria?"
"I guess." With a shrug, and a crack of her neck, the fairy stepped closer. There didn't really seem to be any 'killing intent' about her, as she flourished her right hand, several-inch long green, glowing nails protruding from her fingers. With a lunge, they would be stabbed right into the Wingdramon's side, under the wing. A wince of pain, a growl... and a moment later, the dragon's eyes would grow heavy, as it would slump over itself. Weak as he was, this usually-disorienting poison would be enough to put it out of commission for a while.
And right as it would doze off into dreamland, the fairy would stand up, giving a smirk towards Kuro, then to Shiro. "Well, gotta thank you two for showing up when you did... my partner's been having trouble getting me past champion, lately..."
"... Sheesh. Does she have to put it that way?" Putting her digivice, she turned to face Kai, before staggering, once more reaching for her shoulder. "... Sorry to impose, but... think you could help us get back to town, somewhere? Even a Trailmon station will do."

Kai breathed a sigh of relief as Wingdramon slumped unconscious. It was over... At least so long as they were gone when Wingdramon came to. Shiro, on the other hand, was still gloating when Valeria thanked him and his sister. "Ha! No problem! Anytime! Didn't even break a sweat!" It was... Technically true. There was no sweating involved. He was, however, quite weak after the battle. Kai wouldn't be surprised if his digivolution broke any moment... And was right, as both Kuro and Shiro shrank rapidly. "Awww." The disappointment was obvious.
Kai was itching to ask what Valeria meant about not being able to get past champion, but first... "Well, I would offer to fly you back... But I suspect Shiro won't be ready for that for a while. Regardless of what he says." The second part cut off something Shiro was about to say, almost certainly a claim that he could easily digivolve again and fly them all back. "Let's at least get out of this forest." "Yes, and preferrably before big, violent, and ugly wakes up." Kuro cut in, trotting up in her Rookie form. She had devolved at the same time as her brother.
"Oh, I could take him." No, Shiro, you really couldn't. "Let's just focus on getting out of here." Kai said, agreeing with Kuro. "Once we're out, we can see about getting you to a station..." Fortunately, the girls arm was injured, not her leg. He turned around, trying to remember which way he had come from. It didn't take long to reorient, despite most of the forest being rather more ablaze than when he had arrived. He started leaving, Kuro quickly scampering back up to his shoulder, and Shiro following reluctantly. He presumed that Ami and Valeria would follow.

"Didn't break a sweat, huh... is that why your tail is smoking?" Looking at the rookie level Shiro, the fairy gave a small chuckle. She was thankful, to be sure, but Shiro's enthusiasm was more that of a brash child. If anything, it just made the now-smaller Digimon all the more adorable! "But it does look like you and your, um... 'sister', handled this well?" She was sort of guessing at that point, looking over her shoulder at the black Digimon.
But for now, it was just a good idea to get out of there. Giving a nod towards Kai and Kuro, Ami followed along, moving her hand away from her injured shoulder. Thankfully, the damage didn't seem severe, more like she just landed wrong or something. For at least a few minutes, Ami would follow along, helping where she could with figuring out where to go. Spotting their location with shadows, noting particular landmarks in the forest: it became clearer and clearer, the longer that Ami was there, that she wasn't someone new to these parts of the woods.
Well. If it wasn't obvious from before, anyway. The only other explanation for how she could stay so calm staring down a dragon was pure insanity.
"So," Ami spoke up, to break the relative silence between the group. "What brought you around these parts anyway?" Indeed, it was weird to be in this part of the forest alone. But as Ami asked the direct question, her partner only gave a laugh.
"Oh, come now. You'd put your knight in shining armor on the spot?"
"I didn't mean it like... jeez."
