While, yes, the orange initially threw off Maia, somehow it was less than surprising. Of course there had to be some sort of benefit to devouring the Citrusmon. Elliot hadn't seen the Digimon get consumed, though, had he? Regardless, it looked like the crazy doll had gotten a perfect opening against the spirit user. "Are you alright?" How much could Elliot actually handle? He was just a kid. There had to be some sort of flaw in giving Digimon bodies to someone young and completely untrained in the subject. Then again, how many teens actually knew how to fight, anyway?
With another orange in the air, Maia shielded her face with an arm. The lack of need to move became apparent, as a paw swiped the orange from the air. The Champion moved to shield his tamer, as the explosion went off in his face. As the smoke cleared from the citrus-y blast, Maia was unscathed, albeit coughing. Kuu's tail was hanging low, while his mask's white mane seemed to have been burned unevenly. "I don't think I like oranges," he mumbled, uneasily. Delicately, the monster shook his body, as if trying to remove the burns from his coat. Instead, he just shivered. This was getting bad.
Kuu looked around the room, noticing the thawing of the Troopmon, finally. Things were going downhill fast, weren't they? If only they could move the furnace. But, the partially frozen monsters didn't seem half as threatening as the one that had already destroyed Citrusmon. But, Porcupamon seemed pretty much like a doll, right? Dolls were very flammable. This was too much thought for the Champion, as he debated on if he wanted to weigh the pros and cons of his next suggestion. Nope. Time to risk it? "Do you think we can throw creepy-stuffy into the furnace?"
On top of being a doll, even Citrusmon had made comment of being incredibly flammable. Would that up the chances of this actually being a plausible suggestion from a usually stupid fox? "Even if it worked, it'll heat up the room too much," Maia tried to coax down, despite the idea possibly working. "Are we really considering even killing it?" While this thought wouldn't have affected her previously, after their trip with Alicia, she had found that death wasn't always an option to have on the table.
It didn't sound much like something a hero would do, though. This made the Reppamon pause, looking to Elliot. "We gotta do something."
Crossing her arms again, there was a sigh. "Do want you need to. As long as neither of you die." After all, she couldn't really tell them not to hurt the monster that looked pretty set on murdering them all. That was just ridiculous!

"W-we can't kill anyone, can we?" Elliot's small, meek voice didn't fit his heroically built body in the slightest. Elliot's mind and heart alike raced as he looked at the fallen doll. What was even with this doll? Were those pained, straining noises it made cries of triumph, or howls of agony? Was it even alive? Would they have to kill it? It seemed like it would chase them through the entire facility if they didn't disable it in some way, as its climb through the elevator shaft indicated. Maybe it would refuse to leave them alone even when they left, chasing them to the ends of the earth like BlackWarGreymon did to Shi. Would this be their only option?
No. There had to be another option. Maybe escape, maybe chasing it off. Elliot was not about to have blood on his hands. As the Porcupamon once more lurched onto its feet, Elliot aimed his tail at it like some kind of fire hose. "S-stay back! Tailblazer!" he shouted, focusing hard and shooting a small jet of flames at the Porcupamon. At first it had the ideal reaction, sending the doll scrambling away and making fearful braying noises. For a second, Elliot thought this plan would actually work. He motioned for Kuu and Maia to make their way to the elevator, hoping they'd be able to descend before the Porcupamon ended up catching up to them. It was perfect! Then, however, the Porcupamon stopped running.
Instead it shambled over to the furnace, looking at it pensively before jamming both of its arms right into the furnace. Pained, moaning screams filled the air, Elliot fearfully demanding "What the heck is wrong with this thing?" It looked at its arms thoughtfully, the serene look on its face completely betraying the odd screaming noises it was making. Then it hefted them high like a berserker and charged Elliot, bringing both flaming hands right down onto his left shoulder. Several painful slams left the stunned boy down on the floor, attempts at blocking simply being smashed aside by the powerful plush.
It then turned toward Maia and Kuu. Was it pointing at them, or was that just Elliot's imagination? Regardless, it rushed furiously at the duo, both hands drawn back for a powerful clapping strike. Would it be able to smash both of them at the same time, or would Kuu be able to think of something quickly? Ideally, quickly would come soon, because the Troopmon were halfway to thawing out now. They pushed down impotently at the melting gel, trying to shove the slush away and force their way out of their prisons soon. How much more would have to melt before they were freed?

It took a desperate drop of Isaac's sword to avoid the android's laser eye. In the attack's wake, the boy was forced to watch as his sword was reduced to mere ash. One down, one to go. He tossed his still-existing sword to his still-functioning arm, then hunched down and waited for another chance to push his offensive luck. The ProtoAndromon was sparking and twitching from the earlier beatdown, and Isaac knew just one more good hit would be able to bring this mess to an end. That's why it seemed the machine's priority had shifted from fighting off Isaac to preventing him from getting that last, fatal hit in.
With a smirk, the android's wires began to pull apart the maze of concrete and steel walls that made up the majority of the room. Before Isaac could even have a chance at interrupting, the android had completely boxed itself in. Atop the cage of concrete sat the rocket launcher that the ProtoAndromon earlier looted, swiveling back and forth like an automated turret. Isaac sighed as he realized the machine's plan of taking potshots at him from complete safety, and did the only thing he could in this situation; run. It proved to be a wise one when the rocket launcher fired at the ground beneath his feet, only a quick hop to the side stopping him from ending up like Kouhei.
From here, it was a deadly dance where one wrong step meant Isaac's end. All he could do was circle around the ProtoAndromon's bunker, searching for weak spots in the foundation and taking futile swings before the next rocket descended. Yasyamon's nimbleness allowed him to flip circles around the projectiles as they arrived, but how long could he keep up this dodge for? Isaac really, really didn't want to risk finding out. However, as he ran, he realized that perhaps Andromon's greatest weapon would also prove to be its greatest weakness. He gave up on his previous futile endeavor and instead stood as still as a statue, waiting for the android to even dare shooting at him.
It did, and this time Isaac was prepared for it. "Cross Slash!" With only one sword, the move barely had half of its power. Fortunately, that was just enough to detonate the incoming rocket. Smoke filled the air and rubble shot across the room, Isaac straining his eyes to see if his plan would end up succeeding. If it didn't, he was officially out of options. If it did, it might finally be time to bring this battle to a close.

Oh, it looked like the topic struck a nerve with Elliot. Maybe Maia shouldn't have used that word so openly. The fox and his tamer exchanged uneasy glances. Heroes couldn't also be killers, right? But, it didn't really seem like there was a way to imprison the stuffed monster. "Well, they... they reincarnate. Except... maybe the orange he ate." How did that work? There was no way Citrusmon could come back if another creature was using his attacks, right? Digimon were hard to figure out. But, maybe that wouldn't matter if Porcupamon had to come back, too?
Seeing the motioning, Maia and Kuu began to inch toward the elevator. Of course, they wouldn't go anywhere without Elliot, so the tamer was making sure not to step too far ahead. They didn't have much time to figure out if this would work, however, as Porcupamon decided that the idea about the furnace was just great. "I think he's got some issues," the blonde breathed, eyes wide. Was the monster just trying to prove his flammability? Because, it was really working. The screaming it was doing was just a perfect touch to the insanity.
"Maybe he's cold," Kuu suggested, shakily. This was fine, right? Totally fine. Perfect, in fact. Then, the plush started his charge at Elliot. "I think he just wants a hug?" This sounded far less convincing than the fox would prefer, especially as his tamer cringed, seeing the monster wailing away on the poor spirit user. But, now the doll was charging. "Okay, doesn't want a hug! Back up!" The champion didn't need to tell his tamer twice, as she was already hurrying to be a safe distance behind them. Except, with the Troopmon coming more and more to life, safe was going to be a pretty difficult term soon.
The Digimon's tail began to shift, a strange breeze forming in the room, "Vaccum Razor!" There was an almost metallic sound, as something brushed past the monster's tail. Kuu began to back up, an invisible blade working it's way through the closing gap between him and the Porcupamon that was mid-charge. If the attack didn't stop the crazed doll, or at least push him back, Kuu would be too close to avoid the crazy puppet's arms. Maybe, this was a bad idea.

One second, the Porcupamon was charging toward Maia and Kuu like a Digimon on a mission. However, after Kuu used his invisible strike, it seemed to be reclining back a bit. How completely strange. It wasn't until the plush monster's torso rolled off of its hips that the group would be able to notice that it wasn't leaning back at all. Instead it was completely bisected at the midsection, its disembodied legs still charging at Maia and Kuu before the exclusion was realized. They slumped to the ground at Maia's feet, as if their defeated foe was kneeling down in submission. With that, it seemed like the fight was finally over.
Or, at least half of it was. The torso of the Porcupamon stilled crawled forward, ghoulish coughing noises bouncing between the walls of the cold storage. However, by this point it was practically harmless. Stuffing leaked behind it as it advanced toward the group, moving at a pace that could only be described as glacial. Occasionally it viciously swiped the air in front of it, as if trying to strike Kuu and Maia down from afar. Whether the Porcupamon still had any energy left in it or not was a moot point, though, because unless Kuu wanted to get right in its face there was no way it could harm a fly in its current state.
Elliot, finally seeing an opportunity to escape, sprinted over and scooped up the Porcupamon's legs. It whistled to get the plush's attention, and then flung them into the hallway that once housed the Citrusmon. Immediately Porcupamon broke its focus on Maia, picking up the pace somewhat as it began chasing after its lower half. Elliot then returned to his friend's side, shuddering a little in disgust at what just happened. "That was so morbid," he squeaked, looking around as if hoping there would be a sink he could clean his hands in. "But at least we're all okay, right? Now all we need to do is hop on the elevator and get out of here!"
It seemed the Troopmon had heard him. Gel and water gushed to the floor as the closest to the furnace finally sloughed free of its prison. It let out a primal howl from its gas-masked maw, dragging the furnace closer to the other pillars in order to expedite freeing its brothers. "A-and we should probably do it now, too. I don't like the look of these guys at all," he added, weariness in his voice at relief cut short all too soon. They didn't seem to be paying Elliot and Maia mind right now, but what would happen if they tried to sneak past? Would they just end up surrounded by a vicious troop of Troopmon, or would they barely be able to sneak their way to success?
~~~~
Isaac grinned wickedly behind his mask as the smoke cleared. His plan couldn't have worked any more perfectly. The ProtoAndromon was buried up to its chest in rubble from the fallen concrete, leaving its head perfectly exposed and its body completely walled in. It tried to pull its wires free to take the wall down, but they had all been pinned down in rubble as well. Even with the mechanical speed and precision the android had access to, it was reduced to a mere sitting duck in the face of this trap. Its main offense was taken away, its main defense was now its prison, and the emergency power supply it was running on was quickly dwindling down. The prototype was now completely out of options, and Isaac finally had the chance to secure the revenge had longed for.
Would it really be right, though? As he stared down the helpless robot, he realized the time he was wasting here would just make it more likely Elliot and Maia would end up getting into trouble. He already had what he came for, and now he was just wasting his time and energy on mere catharsis. Maybe it was what Kouhei would have wanted, but with the adrenaline rush fading Isaac realized it wasn't what he had wanted out of the situation at all. The android's eye was flickering red as it tried to charge up a laser blast again, but only feeble sparks were being produced. At this point, Isaac wouldn't even have the satisfaction of toppling a hard-fought opponent. He would just be an executioner. After much thought, he turned away from the robot, disdainfully muttering "None of this is worth it."
Now it was time to begin the long and arduous journey of retracing his steps.
There was a strange silence between the two, as they watched the Porcupamon. He fell apart. Literally. Oh dear. Slowly, Maia looked to her partner, taking a step back from the legs that had finally come to a stop in front of her. "Y-you're not allowed to do that in the house, you understand?" The tamer tried to speak sternly to the fox, but was clearly a little shaken by all of this. This place was messed up.
"I could redecorate the house like this, though," the Digi whined playfully. With another wiggle of his tail, he began giggling, "this is so awesome." Yeah. Awesome. That was the word. Not terrifying or beyond destructive. It couldn't be those options.
Kuu had started lowering his masked face toward the swiping Porcupamon, in an attempt to sniff at him, when Elliot caught it's attention and proceeded to make it chase it's lower half. Well, that was weird, too. At least someone was willing to touch the stuffed monster, because Maia really wasn't going to, and Kuu only wondered if it was cannibalism to try to taste him. Oh well, moment was lost! Probably for the best, too. Nobody wanted to watch the fox lick an angry doll that was probably covered in germs and who-knows-what.
"Morbid is a really good word for it," Maia agreed, before adding a, "yeah, we're fine. Are you?" After all, the nightmare puppet had gotten a few good hits on the boy. Hearing the howl, the girl wasted no time in agreeing with Elliot. "Yes. Let's leave now." After all, at least they would all be going together, now.
Hearing the plans to leave, the champion looked between the two, then at the Troopmon. "Stealth mission!" he chimed, cheerfully. At least someone was excited about all of this. "Then we'll find Isaac and Spooky!" Oh, so now Kouhei was just called 'Spooky'? Not even Spooky Kid? And, at first he had been doing so good with figuring out the other teen's name. After all, 'The Kouhei' was a much more accurate name than either of those!
The Troopmon were already melting rapidly. To make matters worse, another bloodthirsty roar tore through the facility hard enough to rattle and crack portions of their remaining prisons. With the furnace being dragged closer, they were all steadily beginning to work their way free... And another tremor shook the area. This time it was followed by a roar, and the tremor didn't cease. It continued in shrieking, not quite even pulses that grew louder and nearer with every heartbeat. Many of the free Troopmon paused to look to each other in confusion, and they were rather unprepared for the horror that ripped its way out of the floor. A long serrated drill tipping a heavy lance preceded a fearsome metallic knight in dark black and gold digizoid armor. His thighs and pelvis merged seamlessly with his mount, a malevolent-looking MetalGreymon covered in gunmetal armored plates and flanked by cannons. Riding the MetalGreymon's shoulders in front of the knight and partially shielded by the claw-like gauntlet on his left arm was a battered Yasyamon holding a single wooden sword in his good hand.  The MetalGreymon roared, rattling the room, and spun towards the nearest Troopmon. It bit that one in half,, throwing what was left at another before breathing a ball of cold black fire at a third grouping. It rampaged through the Troopmon's ranks trampling and biting and crushing with its tail. The Yasyamon moved nimbly about its back, getting his own hits in even as the knight charged and swung with his massive drill. They slaughtered the Troopmomn wholesale, at at least the knight and MetalGreymon did. They dwarfed the slighter Yasyamon, so it was hard to say. Within a few minutes the room was in ruins and the Troopmon shattered, their data set free- not absorbed, oddly, but allowed to escape this prison and reformat. Perhaps they'd be something less awful this time. With no other enemies in sight, MetalGreymon set its steely sights on Elliot, Kuu and Maia. It stomped over deliberately, ducking its head to bring the knight closer. He would have stood nine feet tall on his own, without having a tyrannosaur for legs. His armor and style would look familiar to those observant, similar to a certain -skull-faced knight. "Sorry we've been gone," GreyKnightsmon said in a voice like Kouhei's, but deeper and encased in resonant steel. And doubled, once filled with a terrible rage. "Are you all okay?" EarlierThrough smoke and fire, Kouhei fell. He he felt it when the Spirit’s power slipped away from him and his flesh became weak and fragile again. Human. He felt himself tumble and roll on uneven rubble and his d-tector spun away into the darkness. He landed hard, knocking the wind out of him and cracking his head against something hard. Kouhei’s vision flashed white and he spent a few precious moments senseless, blind. He came to curled on his side, coughing and cradling an aching skull. He groaned, rolling to his hands and knees and tensing as he suppressed the violent need to heave. A few deep breaths, he opened his eyes and blinked away the stars. He was on some kind of low stone platform suspended in a lake of… luminous green. That couldn’t be healthy. Shadows hung thick on everything, leaving much of the wide-seeming platform he knelt on deeply shrouded. At the edge of the nearest shadows, maybe fifty meters away he could barely see the glow of his d-tector. After a few dizzy attempts to stagger over, Kouhei settled. He crawled, slowly and painfully. A slow, agonizing eternity later Kouhei’s hand closed on the d-tector and he breathed an instant, harsh sigh of relief. The effort through his dry throat made him hack and cough, which sent a sharp silver pain lancing through his side. How hard did he fall? “Bl-nngh, Black Queennnh. Chhk. You there?” His voice sounded small and afraid in the pressing dark. Underneath his palms, Kouhei felt the stone rumble gentle. What could it… oh. Oh, God. Two shining silver eyes the size of dinner plates shone out above him, underscored by a metallic, bassy rumble that could only be a growl. The ground shook as a heavy step thundered down somewhere ahead of him and a broad flat maw like a steel trap whipped out of the gathered dark maybe seven feet off the ground. It bared open its vise-trap jaws, and when it roared Kouhei’s vision went white again and he felt himself tumbling across the ground. He never heard the roar, just a vast deafening ringing that persisted in his ears like an angry buzz as he lay defeated on the ground. He was going to die.Greetings, my servants. Now what has been done to you in my absence…The next thing he knew, light filled the chamber as his d-tector absorbed a brilliant, searing beam of power. He was lifted off the ground, and heard the words: “Submit. Beast Fraction Evolution! Aagh!” The thing was gone from the chamber. He was it now. Another servant of the Black Queen returned to her fold. Two, in fact… or what was left of them. He remembered, now. They all did. And they were not happy.
The bullet-ridden door closed behind Isaac in his Yasyamon form, leaving the ProtoAndromon behind as he looked out over the Sisyphus Chamber. The boulder had slowed considerably and barely reached his platform before rolling back. It wobbled at the apex of its far path, and then bounced when a vast metallic roar shrieked through the facility. As it tumbled unevenly towards the middle of the chamber a large serrated drilled tore up through the floor and shattered the insane acme trap, followed by- oh my god is that a tyrannosaurus? “I’m glad you’re alright, Isaac. Let’s go find the others- get on.” Hunt Complete: B Fraction (GreyKnightsmon)
(Everything in Rob's post was run through me first, btw. No godmodding here!) Elliot started out nodding, but quickly changed tune and began shaking his head. "I don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight," he said, voice quiet and worried. Not with that teddy bear staring him down in his nightmares! However, judging by the horrible roaring sounds coming from beneath the floorboards, that might have been the last of Elliot's problems.
Yep. Literally, the Porcupamon was the last of Elliot's problems. All of the others got torn to bits by Tyrannosaurus Wrecks as he literally burst through the floor, the room erupting in a storm of noise and metal and data flying everywhere. He weakly rose to his full height, spreading out his arms wide as if to try and block Maia and Kuu from the horrid beast, only to hear an all too familiar voice coming from its mouth. "Kouhei? Is that you?" he asked, the most obvious question in the world tumbling out of his mouth. "We were so worried! Thank goodness you made it out okay.
Wait, though, where's Isaac?" he asked.
"Over here." The Yasyamon's voice was little more than a slur. It turned out that when you weren't covered in thick metal plating or dragonscale, crashing your way through an entire facility hurt. He slid off of the GreyKnightsmon's back, regressing into human form as he landed with a clumsy thud. It seemed like the battle damage from this fight had been severe enough to carry over, at least in part. Isaac's torn shirt revealed that his shoulder was raw and bloodied, and there was a nasty, purplish-yellow bruise starting to form beneath his right eye. Still, he managed to force a grin as he steadied himself.
Naturally, first priority was giving his brother a big hug, which was gladly reciprocated. In the heat of the moment he also found himself hugging Maia, but when he realized what he was doing he broke the hug and flushed a bright crimson. "I'm so glad to see you guys are okay," he said, trying his hardest to hold back the flood of worries and weariness in his voice.
He then turned back to the dragon knight, grinning. "Thanks a ton for the help there. We owe you one," he said.
"Yeah! You're a lifesaver!" Elliot added.
Maia couldn't blame the spirit user. "I don't think I am, either," she admitted, quietly. Kuu nudged his tamer's arm with his masked face. Oh, hey, he was still a Champion. How long was that going to last?
"I'll sleep on your face. It'll be okay," the Digi assured. That wasn't actually helpful. In fact, it sounded pretty detrimental to her breathing. But, he was trying to be comforting, it seemed. She couldn't fault him for that. Instead, fingers brushed through the white mane. It was weird that he couldn't fit on her shoulder anymore. Hopefully, that would change before they had to go home. At this rate, sleeping on her face would be a lot more uncomfortable, if not mildly crushing. Also, sneaking him into her house would be impossible.
That roaring wasn't overly comforting, though. Hopefully, it wasn't something that was planning to eat them. Kuu went to take a step forward as the dinosaur began chomping away at the Troopmon. Yup. More reason to fear being eaten by a Digimon. This was confirmed. Maia was never going to shake the fear of being eaten.
Except, the creature wasn't going to eat her. There was a breath of relief, processing that it was Kouhei. The Reppamon looked over the dinosaur and it's rider. "Spooky's safe!" Well, that was still a thing. Hopefully, the teen didn't mind his new nickname. It would probably take some time for Maia to make the fox realize that he wasn't allowed to rename people. "Why's everyone getting dinosaurs? I want to ride a dinosaur. Or be one! Maybe both?" Ah, yes, the terrifying dinosaur-riding-a-dinosaur-mon. Eh. No. Didn't sound so cool. Back to wanting wings or being a ninja.
Wow, Isaac looked kind of awful. But, that was forgotten when she found herself pulled into a hug. Without even thinking, she wrapped her arms around him. It seemed they both processed this at the same time, arms rapidly dropping, one moving to rest on Kuu's mask. The fox made a small, "bleck," sound, causing his tamer to turn pink. Oh, and she had done so well pretending it hadn't embarrassed her before that!
At least everything seemed to be going pretty well now. "You had perfect timing, too," the tamer managed a smile at Kouhei. This day was far too stressful. At least Kouhei had managed to reduce some of that significantly by removing the Troopmon. "Thank you."
(More approved skipping) Now that some energy was starting to return to him, Isaac took a look around the room. "And I thought I ended up on the wrong side of the tracks," he muttered. "Where the heck have you guys been? A giant icebox?"
"I think so," Elliot said. "It was a lot colder in here before that furnace was dragged in. Also a lot more filled with weird tar monsters. And that weird stuffed animal thing, it followed us here. But you picked a great time to show up! It's all fine now."
Isaac narrowed his eyes a little. "Are we talking fine or 'fine' here?" he asked, suspicion in his voice. It didn't take very long for him to break his cheer, motioning for Isaac to step aside with him for a bit. As he walked he shot a pleading 'do not follow' look to Maia and Kuu, hoping they'd give the two brothers a little bit of privacy. Thankfully, the Spirit of Order room made for a perfect nook to hide in for a one on one chat.
"Today was really, really scary. But the way those monsters just got shredded to bits-" He paused as he struggled with the right words. "I'm glad we're okay, but it was also even scarier than the rest of the day seeing how vicious Kouhei got. You didn't, well-"
"Kill?" Elliot nervously swallowed at the word as a silence hung over the two. Did Isaac want to tell him about his struggle with the ProtoAndromon? Did he want to tell Elliot about the overpowering rage screaming through his head? Did he want to even acknowledge such viciousness, when it seemed like such a one-off moment? After a brief pause, Isaac ruffled his brother's hair good-naturedly. "Hey, c'mon now. Do I look like I'd do that to you? We were under attack, and I helped knock them off of Kouhei's back. But there's no blood on these hands." Thank goodness for that. Seeing his brother at the very least contented by his response, Isaac turned to rejoin the group.
"Got even stronger while I wasn't looking, eh Kuu?" Isaac said as the two re-entered the main lobby.
"We didn't know the button meant Cold Storage," the tamer admitted. She let the brothers walk off, having no intent of following, even without the look. Kuu shuffled a little, before tilting his head to the side. With a soft thunk to his mask with her knuckles, Maia caused the Digimon to begin rapidly flailing his head, letting out a ridiculous squeal. "No eavesdropping, jerk," she huffed.
Kuu let out a small garble of sounds, before groaning. "I'm tough" he whined, using a tone far from his statement. "You're not supposed to hit tough heroes unless you're evil. You're not allowed to be evil."
There was a devious smile that crossed the girl's lips, placing a hand on her hip, "I don't know. If you eat more of my clothes, you're going to see how evil I can be." Another whine emitted from the fox, as he circled himself, chasing his tail for a moment. "And, you're still a really lame hero."
To this, the Champion paused, about to say something when Isaac and Elliot returned. With the question, the fox puffed his chest out, trying to look proud. "I gotta be tough! I'm a hero!" Kuu barely paused, before adding, "Elliot makes an awesome hero, too, though. You should'a seen him!" With all the fighting done and a dinosaur in the room, the Reppamon was full of energy and in a great mood! Everything had worked out! No need to worry at all, even if they were still in the creepy facility!
GreyKnightsmon remained quiet through much of the group's reunification after the ordeal, his MetalGreymon crouched low and rumbling deeply in the back of its throat. The dinosaur at least eyed his companions with a not-entirely-healthy interest as they gathered and shared in their mutual relief. The knight on top, a Knightmon of some kind, slumped a little and leaned on his drill lance. His black armor was marred in many places with dings and scratches from his climb and subsequent battle- clearly Yasyamon hadn't been able to get all the Troopmon before they counterattacked. Ah, well. It would have been worse without Isaac, certainly.
Don't rely too much on the Pawns. They have their use, but they exist to serve. Remember that.
"I'm glad you're all safe," GreyKnightsmon admitted in Kouhei's weirdly doubled, metallic voice. Was the dinosaur speaking, too? MetalGreymon heaved itself to its feet, rising as his Knightmon torso raised his drill lance with some effort. "I think I would quite like to leave now. I hope no one minds the direct route." Metallic dinosaur claws stomped over to a particular wall, and he aimed the lance at a spot near the floor at a shallow downward angle. The weapon began to spin, and MetalGreymon spat cold black fire over the wall to weaken it before he slammed the weapon in. Soon, metal and stone was shrieking in protest as he quickly, mercilessly and quite directly carved a path through the lab large enough for three people to walk shoulder-to-shoulder behind him. There were some sharp edges and melted metal cold enough to burn them if they weren't careful. But honestly, it was much safer than this nightmarish fun house. GreyKnightsmon didn't stop until he'd ripped his way out into a familiar rock tunnel- their starting point inside the Grotto.
The moment they were free, he was wrapped in a shimmering cocoon of energy that shrunk his form down and dissipated into the human Kouhei. He was battered and bruised and appeared to be limping, but hey Isaac, at least he wasn't dead? The boy turned to watch his companions pick their way through the tunnel, sitting heavily on the nearest rock he could find at the Grotto's entrance. Turns out the transformation had only healed him from the worst. But again, hey. He wasn't dead. He would wait for his new... friends, maybe? Allies? Pawns.
He would wait for them to exit, and they would leave this terrible place together. If he'd been thinking clearly, he might have sealed the exit behind him. As it was, the thought wouldn't occur until much later. By then, well. He'd just have to hope nothing in there held a grudge.
"Direct ro- Oh. Ooooooh." Elliot's voice shrank somewhat as he slowly caught on to Kouhei's plan. It was every bit as destructive as he expected it to be. It was hard to be surprised after he so viciously mauled the Troopmon. It seemed pure destruction was the main purpose of this form, and Elliot made a mental note to stay far away from it while it did its thing. Hopefully, Kouhei would have a little bit more restraint the next time they worked together!
"I swear," Isaac said as he watched Tyrannosaurus Wrecks smash through the facility like a sledgehammer through butter. "That thing freaks me out. Thank god its on our side." At the very least, Isaac hoped the strange bestial hybrid was on their side. The fact that they weren't turned into dinosaur snacks as soon as the Troopmon were gone was a good indication of that fact, but the form seemed downright unstable compared to most spirit user forms either brother had seen so far. Really, they just had to stay on Kouhei's good side. Maybe then they'd be okay.
"It's better than the rest of this place, at least," Elliot said. The boy made his way through the tunnel, his bad leg making it a little bit harder to climb out of the facility than he'd like. Still, he was doing admirably well at escaping it. It helped that most jagged edges or debris were also promptly described by the force of nature known as GreyKnightsmon.
Isaac left shortly thereafter, smiling at Maia. "We sure dodged a bullet with that one, didn't we?" he asked, referring to pretty much the entire chaotic day in general. "After this we've earned one hell of a break." Maybe he'd call her up in a few days to hang out. The two certainly deserved a chance to unwind after this mess. For now, though, the number one priority was leaving. Soon all of the brave adventurers would have been gone and a calm would have finally fallen over the facility.
Except for a ghastly moaning noise. An all-too familiar shadow loomed over the open hole that Kouhei tore open. After a few seconds it took a pensive step, the first one it had ever made outside of the facility's metal walls. A tiny bit of stuffing was left in its wake.
