Dust saw the goo and saw both Wormmon and Dante leap in it, Dante for good reason but not so much Wormmon. "Exp huh." Dust said before going back to his skill set and sure enough three skills were there. They were apparently classified as Unique skills. Dust supposed everyone had ones. Quite a game to take unique things about a person and make them a skill to use. "Army of one, increase status by 50% per enemy unit. Tyrant revelo. Increases overall strength by 100% at the cost of losing a lot of Hp." Dust said to himself naming two of them but the third unnerved him. "Legion of one. A massive hit with a 10% chance of eliminating the target." Dust didn't know why but it made him feel like he shouldn't rely on it.
Luna had been standing behind Dust not wanting to do what Dante and Wormmon were doing. Though when Dante said something about someone else she looked up wondering who they were. Dust also skipped out on any rewards this time, it was Dante who got them into that fight in the first place. Might as well get a reward.

Dust has some interesting abilities. Definitely suited for damage dealing. Dante scrolls through his moves. They can also see the abilities of other party members by going over to the group menu. It appears in addition to moves determined by class, and other choices made during character creation, there were unique skills based on the actual player. "My god. And I was still getting used to the Digital World. But this, this is something else entirely. And I thought I liked online games before." Dante was indeed enjoying his time playing this game. After a set amount of time, the remaining xp goo transfers into the group's xp pool. They all reach level 2, improving their stats slightly, upgrading some of their powers, and even unlocking new ones. Only level 2, and there was already many abilities to choose from, depending on the play style.
The other player comes running over to the party. It's a female tank class with orange hair and heavy grey armor on, with a red and black sash covering their left shoulder and most of their torso. "I thought I might find you here. Does one of you have red hair irl?" Dante stops to think for a moment. Why risk detection right now? "It is you, isn't it? We're in the same class." "So you're that girl. We saw you waiting in line before." "Ya. I noticed you sneaking in during the fire alarm. You wouldn't know anything about that?" "No, I just saw a chance and went for it." "Don't worry, I get it. People just can't get enough. But wait, this is your first time playing, right? Oh brother, get out while you can."
Dante shrugs off her warning. He has dealt with the whole getting addicted thing before, and was far above falling into that trap at this stage in life. He has priorities. "Ya, ya. Don't worry." The girl just smirks. "Well if you plan on stayng, then you'd better get serious. Only no lifers make it. That, or spend a bunch of money. I've heard some crazy horror stories about what players have sold just to get the best gear. So, who are your friends?" Dante couldn't just say they were Digimon. "Jeez, awfully nosey there, ugh, what's your name?" "You don't remember?" "Oh, like everybody in class knows everybody's name." "My name is Aria. And I'm going to teach you noobs how to kick ass." "Oh sweet baby Angemon yes!"

Dust had no idea what he was doing so he was just checking stuff mainly Luna's skills. "Session unleashes all hell with a dual attack with Dust." He read to Luna, no joke that was the actual description. "Oh a new person, neat." Dust said listening to the new lady that had decided to walk over and talk to them. When she asked who they were Luna pipped in like normal. "Dust and Luna right here, hi." The cheerful digimon greeted. "Yeah hi." The digimon said offering a small wave. Dust wasn't one who wanted teaching. He had years of muscle memory and experience under his belt, but he wasn't rude and waited to see what Dante and Wormmon would do, I'm all fairness it was them and Luna who wanted to play this not him.
Though by what Wormmon said he seemed to be on board with this. Dust simply crossed his arms and closed his eyes waiting for someone to do something. Luna on the other hand was already messing with her skills and learning stuff, yay for her she actually still had her healing field that was a plus.

Dante was a bit miffed by Aria so far. She wasn't kind at all to the other members of the party. Still, as with any game, it would take time to fully utilize everything. And because this game has so many different features, it would increase the rate they get stronger with some help. The best leveling spots, rare items, tips and tricks. They needed someone to enlighten the party. That, and Dante has a history of not saying no to pretty girls, in video games, and in real life. "Ya, you can show us around. For now." "Excellent! Now that you've defeated the boss creature in this area, you can advance to the next area. However, you should probably kill some mobs and get some experience. Come and talk to me when you're ready, and I'll take you to the next place."
Dante nods in agreement. "Sounds good, thank you Aria." The group ventures off to kill some low level enemies. There's two main mobs in the noob valley, Longstalkers and Chobees. Longstalkers are lanky raptor creatures. They don't have a lot of health, but they strike fast, and hit hard. Even at this early in the game, they pose a threat. Chobees are fat little fluffy bee-like creatures, with black and yellow stripes. They don't deal a lot of damage, but killing such cute and defenseless creatures is kind of sad. Dante starts whacking at Chobees with his sword, getting minimal xp. He also loots the bodies and finds some kind of honey potion. It restores the energy bar, allowing moves to be used. "These will come in handy." Wormmon fires his giant laser cannon at some of the Chobees. "Hee hee hee!"
Dante decides to move on to the Longstalkers, but has to go to the bathroom. He doesn't wanna stop playing, but must get this out of the way. "Dang it! I'll be right back, guys." Dante signs out and takes off the helmet and goggles. He gets up and opens the pod door. "Ahh, reality!" Luckily, things have returned to normal in the arcade. Dante is able to walk to the bath room with no trouble. (Thinking) "I guess we are in the clear. I wonder which pod Aria is in right now."

"So to show us she has us go do something Dante and Wormmon were going to make us do anyway. Whatever." Dust said long after that girl had left and was currently firing into both mobs from afar easily taking them down do to that army of one think. "Hey Dust wanna try that dual skill." Luna asked running over to he gunner. "Session huh, alright might as well." Dust shrugs, since Dante went to the bathroom he was about to miss the single greatest thing these two would do in the game and later in real life. Dust started it off both of them attacking Luna with long roundhouse kicks and Dust with blasting shots that fired a close range bit dealt a lot of damage to closer opponents, they could move while in this state so they went through several enemies smashing their way through. Then the dual skill hit the second part and the two quickly turned into streams of black and white mowing down enemies in their surrounding area before coming to the middle.
Dust quickly bashed the ground causing a massive flood of dark energy which blew up quickly while Luna sped off and dragged other monsters into he blast radius, unleash all hell indeed for that skill. Sadly it took up everything to pull off, stamina and mana leaving them unable to use actual skills for a while, but man was that badass.

While Dante was answering the call to nature, the most frequent distraction for hardcore gamers, Dust and Lunamon unleashed a wild combo move that devastated a big group of Longstalkers and Chobees. Dante had indeed missed out on arguably the coolest looing move in the game. Because the kills were in such quick succession, the xp multiplier went up. Dante washes his hands and splashes his face with cold water. Gaming for so long was starting to feel exhausting, but it was so much fun. Dante had plenty left in him, and was willing to stay late at the arcade and keep playing. Dante stocks up on food and energy drinks, and heads back in the pod.
Dante puts on the helmet and gloves and renters the game. The familiar tone and music trigger a release of endorphins in his brain. Already, Dante was getting hooked, hook line and sinker. Back in the virtual world, Dante moves on to killing longstalkers. He charges towards one and unleashes a quick wind blast from his sword, cutting up the skin of the agile dinosaur. He jumps up and spins around, bringing the sword down at an angle and piercing the beast through the skull. Another longstalker dashes towards Dante, but he blink strikes to the other side of the beast, turns around and sweeps the legs out from under the beast. Dante steps on the longstalker's underbelly and pierces it right through the heart.
"Hey, I could get used to this. They never taught me that in fencing." "Looks like you're gonna want to do the battling from now on, right Dante?" "Don't worry, little buddy. You're still my badass Digimon partner. Even though you look like a bimbo." Wormmon gets mad and swings his laser cannon, smacking Dante in the face and knocking him down. "Ow! Come on! Really?" "I can't believe this is how you talk to ladies. All these women hanging around you, and not one of them wants to be with you." "What are you babbling about now?" Dante is not happy with Wormmon insulting his love life. Yes, he did have a lot of female friends. He just wasn't very forward with his feelings. But that didn't matter right now, because video games trumped romance for the time being. "Let's just finish up here and go get Aria." "Can do. Come here, Chobee!" Dante and Wormmon go back to killing beasts with Lunamon and Dust. After plenty of time spent grinding away, the group goes up to level 3. Dante notices one of his bars has changed. For killing all those chobees, his morality bar went down. It looks like this game also has a morality system. Yet again, things get even more interesting.

Dust and Luna watched the back and forward between the two, so his was a true tamer and digimon relationship, quite violent. "Hey Dust what's a bimbo?" Luna asked as Dust put his gun away. "No idea but he got smacked in the face for it so I assume it's a bad thing." Luna paused for a moment obviously not understanding. "Hey Dante what's a bimbo." The mercenary asked figuring the one calling others the name would understand, after all wouldn't call someone something even you don't understand right? Dust would of said drop it but it wasn't like there was much else to conversate about while looking for Aria.
Dust noticed the morality bar that Dante did and wondered why it didn't go down. Maybe that was a punishment on Dante for killing that guy, or the kills between him and Luna were distributed even. "So we killed how many with that and area only level three?" Dust asked himself, session was a powerful skill but in the end he supposed fighting lower enemies wouldn't net a lot of exp.

Being too polite to just come out and say it, Dante tries to think of a more subtle way of explaining it. For lack of a better explanation, Dante just says what he's thinking. "A person, usually female, in skimpy clothes. But there are male bimbos out there. I was merely using the word as an expression, because a certain insect Digimon went all otaku on us and made a character model that would make any 14 year old boy proud." "Dante, you're getting tired. You start talking all funny when you get tired." "I'm fine. Let's just get on to the next area and start fighting some tougher monsters."
The party walks back over to where they battled the boss, and continue on down the dirt road. They reach the border between maps, and encounter a loading screen. During this time, all they can do is just stand there until it finishes loading. "Well, might as well take a quick break while we can." Dante takes the helmet back off and opens up another can of energy drink. "So what do you guys think of the game so far?" "Best game ever! I know I've said that before, but this time I really, really mean it!" Wormmon jumps up and down, then starts chowing down on food. Fortunately there is a pizza place across the street, and they supply players in the arcade with steaming hot pizza, and Dante had the foresight to bring a box back with him. "I know it's beating a dead horse, but this is the greatest thing ever!"
The group gets back in the game and the loading finishes. They appear in a small space refugee town. The technology is advanced, but the people are poor. They see buildings to go to, NPCs to talk to, and players running around. "Let's see, where did Aria run off to? Probably hanging out at the tavern, acting all cool." "Let's check out everything, Dante! I don't wanna miss anything." "Good call, Wormmon. Let's start exploring." The party checks out the different places in town. The largest building is the tavern, and has the usual tavern things such as patrons, the bar, and beds to sleep in. They can talk to an NPC and go on a quest to get some more xp, maybe even some unique gear or item. There must be a lost child, or an ex-lover seeking vengeance.

"Otaku?" Luna repeated the unfamiliar word but Dust had just shook his head. "Don't ask." He said figuring they'd be here all day of she kept hearing words she didn't know, which was a lot of words. Dust was going to log off but something caught his eye before he did, he shrugged it off taking the helmet off going back to his Impmon form which with all do respect felt much more natural then what that was, he just wasn't used to behind human. "I suppose it's good, never played another to compare with." Dust said giving the truth. Luna just smiled. "It's great, me and Dust went all crazy like and destroyed so many of those small things." Luna said poking the air and giving visual representation of what went down. Dust smiled and nodded, they did kick ass.
Once they went back they couldn't find Aria so they waited for Dante to find something for them to do. Best leave it to the experienced gamer.

The party stands around in town planning their next course of action. There's plenty of different places to visit and NPCs to talk to. Players run around town, some of the higher levels dueling in the streets. Before they can decide which quest they do next, a player named 'Soulja Boi' runs up to the party. They are playing as the soldier class, wearing lightweight military clothes, and carrying a large laser rifle. "Hey can you guys help me out plz?" The group has things to do, but they should at least hear them out. "What do you need?" "Can you help me on this quest? I can share it with you guys." Dante thinks this is a good idea. Normally his philosophy prevented him from helping out others, believing it made them weaker in the long run. However, as long as they are getting something out of the quest, why not?
"Alright. I'll invite you to the party." Dante sends the soldier an invite. They join the party and share the quest, 'Shadows of the Past'. The group scrolls through the details. The objective is to eliminate the leader of a deadly bandit organization, located in the mountains outside of town. "This is gonna be awesome possum!" "The loot from this quest must be great. Aria can wait." Dante checks his inventory. It is overflowing with low level gear and junk items. "Uh oh, we'd better sell some stuff. Maybe one of the merchants in town has some useful items." The party stops by the local vendors, stocking up on anything they need, and selling junk to free up inventory space. There's some powerful new class specific weapons and gear, but the level requirement and price is too high for now. Dante buys a steel shoulder pad that increases defense and agility. Wormmon finds a workbench, and applies some upgrades to his massive laser cannon. The group finishes up in town for now, and gets ready to head towards the bandit base.
Playing this game was incredibly fun, but it was starting to get late. It might be best to leave the arcade for now, and come back another day. But Dante and Wormmon wanted to keep playing with their friends, and didn't know what plans Dust and Luna had. Dante was use to Wormmon doing the fighting, but in this game they had four powerful characters, and battling was lots of fun. And Wormmon was actually behaving for a change. Yes, things seemed to be going great. But little did Dante know, someone from his own past was responsible for creating the new virtual game. And if they realized Dante was in the game, it could mean giant trouble for the party.

Dust followed the group but never said anything or objected to anything. After all like he said before Luna was the only reason he was here, were he being honest he'd of opted to leave and try and find his memories. But in the end he had been working his body and mind to the bone. He just hoped he'd find the girl with the Alphamon soon. Luna however had a small objection. "Wait shouldn't we wait for her? We said we would=" Luna chimed in and Dust shrugged. "Luna she isn't here, might as well kill time." Dust suggested and got a shaky nod from the mercenary. Dust didn't like leaving something unfinished but waiting around wasn't something he was fully keen on.
Luna and Dust had their fair share of junk items and sold them, it was a bit weird considering nothing was better then they started out with. "Alright I'll beat the tar out of whatever comes my way." Luna said punching the air. "Sure you will Luna." Dust said rolling his eyes before following everyone else.

The party finishes up in town and sets off into the mountains to deal with the bandit leader. They take the east path heading out of town and walk through a vast field, filled with low level mobs. Slowly, the party are the only players around. They reach the base of the mountain, but before heading up to the base, they encounter a strange looking man, very slender and wearing brightly colored clothes. The man's face is obscured by his long blonde hair. Soulja Boi speaks up. "This is where I'm stuck at. I can't get past this puzzle."
Dante doesn't quite understand what the problem is. Most NPCs just explain part of the quest, and the player continues on. Wormmon approaches the strange man. "Yo! Can you take us to the top of the mountain?" The man smiles a wicked grin. "Many go up the mountain, but nobody comes down." Dante is already getting impatient. Even thought he usually prefers strategy over straight up battling, Dante was eager to storm the base, and eliminate the bandit leader. "What's your deal? Can we pass, or not?" "Only those deemed worthy may pass. To reach the bandit base, you must answer three questions. But you cannot repeat an answer, or ask any questions once we begin." "I couldn't figure this out. The questions are designed so if you say a certain answer earlier, you can't use it later."
It looks like this is the only way they can continue this quest. Confident in his ability to solve puzzles, Dante is ready. "Very well, ask us the first question." "Listen closely, and remember, you cannot repeat an answer. A yard is to length as a pound is to..." "That's easy, weight." "Don't just blurt it out, we've got to be cautious." "Correct! 'Weight' is your first answer. Next question, you do it in line, you do it in traffic, you do it while a package is being delivered. Take your time." "Well it must be wait." "Ah, but you already said weight." "No, that was weight." "Spelling is irrelevant. Go ahead and talk it out for a while." Dante is getting upset. If this was a Digimon battle, they could just crush this bizarre looking man. Dante checks over the quest details again. "Wait you guys. This is a high level quest! Why are you even doing this quest already, Soulja?" "If you guys help me I can make it through." Babysitting noobs in video games was not Dante's style, but they were in too deep at this point. They must figure out another word to say, and they still have one more question.

Dust again had little idea what was going on but it appeared there were a few questions. Like Wormmon Luna was going to blurt out a answer but one slap from the Digimon shut the mercenary up. "Well we can't use a word that sounds the same? Ugh they should of said that repeating a answer makes it sound like we could just not use weight again." Dust slightly complained, rules should be set out so it's understandable, not misleading. Dust made sure he wouldn't give out the answer to the NPC before talking. "Well the answer is obviously wait, even I can see that. So what about saying Waiting. It's the same word but different then weight." Dust said figuring that would work. "But a lot of words use ing at the end so maybe that's not the best idea." Dust soon said after slightly shooting down his previous answer, they had to be careful.
"I'll just leave it to you guys, I'm not that smart." Luna said before wandering off somewhere. If Dust wasn't so sure she was most likely the dangerous thing here he'd go after her, plus she could find something so win win. After all no way Dante would take them somewhere dangerous. Right?

The group discusses what they should give for a second answer. Dust comes up with 'waiting', while a slightly different word it more or less has the same meeting. The puzzle master thinks for a while. "Hmm, yes, I suppose 'waiting' works. You found a loophole in the system, good for you." Only one question left. Surely, the last question was super difficult, to ensure not just anyone could summit the mountain. "For the last answer, you cannot repeat an answer, as before. However, you also cannot use an answer if you've used it as part of your first two answers."
Uh oh, here comes the trick question. "What is 4 times 2?" The answer is obviously eight, but they already used that sound with the other answers. "What kind of a set up is this?! How do we know you're not just making up the questions as we go?" "Hey, I'm only doing my job here." "Oh ya, well what if we just kill you instead?!" Dante takes his sword and hacks at the puzzle master. His sword stops right before hitting them in the head, and an energy blast sends Dante flying back. "Surely, you're not so stupid to think you're the first one to try that." This quest had become an unwarranted burden. There was no way to give a correct answer if they couldn't say 'eight'.
This time, Wormmon tries thinking of a loophole. "Well if you're going to get all technical on us. Four times 2 is four plus 4." "Wait, you can't give that as an answer!" "Why not?! Trust me, for a bug I know a lot about math. I've paid attention when Dante is in class. I've studied fractions and percentages while Dante's sister was watching crappy reality TV. I've even done Dante's taxes!" "It's true. You should see him play monopoly." "4*2=4+4. That's called an equation, and even though it's not the answer you're looking for, it is technically true." The puzzle master is stumped. "A bug, huh? Fine. You may pass. My boss is going to blow a gasket. Although it doesn't matter anyways. You'll be ripped to shreds by the bandits."
The party notices a buff on the puzzle master has expired. "No! I, uh, gotta go now!" The puzzle master starts running away. Wormmon charges up his massive laser cannon and fires at them, taking them out with one massive blast. "I was right. He was only invincible so he could ask us the questions. Once we got by, he lost his power up." "Serves him right for being such a smug shyster." The party continues up the mountain path, heading to the base. It isn't long before a group of shady bandits surround the party. "Well they know we're here now. Let's have some fun!" Dante draws his sword, and Wormmon charges up their cannon. The party had fared well in battle before, but these mobs are higher level, and it would take a lot of skill, and a little bit of luck, just to survive.

Dust watched everything unfold with whatever was going on. He was a digimon he had no idea what math was but it looks like they were able to get through. Dust was about to follow but Luna had come up. "Hey I found something." She said holding some large staff. "I hit a wall then something yelled and I got this." Dust was going to ask several questions but didn't care enough and just walked along. "Aw come on, I think this is some legendary artifact." She said following the gunner. Little did Dust know that the item was some legendary weapon but he didn't care at the time. "So which way, stealth or assault." Dust said to get everyone's attention before they went. This was a high level place they needed to be cautious for crying out loud.
But judging by the last two events they were most likely going to go loud and proud.
