Why had Maia thought that travelling in the woods in the Digital World was a good idea? This was nothing like the forest outside of her house, and to top it off, there were Digimon in this place! Sure, she hadn't run into any quite yet, but it certainly wasn't impossible. After all, it was pretty easy to get lost in a place like this. Speaking of... "Hey, Kuu?" the girl finally spoke up, after far too long of a silence. "Any idea on how to get back to the city?" After all, Maia had already consulted the map on her Digivice, which was completely useless in a tree filled area. Oh, well. They couldn't wander in circles forever, right? This sucked.
"Why would we want to go back?" Kuu started, looking around wildly. Okay, so that was a 'negative' on that front. The rookie was just as lost as she was. Why not just admit it? "It's so fun and... uh," the Digimon hummed, trying to think of a good descriptor, "leafy! Fun and leafy!" Horrible choice. Couldn't go with 'pretty' or 'peaceful.' It was just 'leafy.'
There was a big sigh, as Maia leaned herself against one of the nearby trees. "You're not helpful," she pointed out, only to get the tongue of the fox stuck out at her. "Point proven. Seriously, this is dangerous. Why did we come out here alone?"
The pipe fox looked at the sky -- or, where it would have been, if thick leaves weren't covering it from view -- and shrugged his shoulder. "Because we're never alone when we have each other!" Oooh, that one made Maia cringe. She needed to moderate the Digimon's television use. Maybe, give him less "friendship is power" and more, "this is reality." But, that would take effort, and she really didn't want to explain the shows to him. Ah, well. Worth a thought.
"Is there a place that I can exchange you for someone more useful?"
To this, her Digimon stuck his tongue out again, "nope! Warranty was voided when you opened the box!"

Shi held the new Digivice in his hands spinning it around his palm with skill. He then caught it before looking at it. Shi had joined DATS a few days ago and wondered if it was a good idea. After Daniel and all would Shi have to do the same thing. He wasn't up to threatening people and all. "Shi why aren't you wearing that outfit you got?" The Koromon in his bag asked. Oh yeah Shi doesn't know how to operate the new device sadly and his twins were stuck in their normal training form. And they were lost in the woods so yeah.
"I blame Yasuo." The other Koromon said as the first bashed him in the head. "Why me?" He asked. Yuudai just shrugged. "So I'm not to blame." Shi took both out before looking at the device. Shi couldn't get that Digi-soul stuff to form before so they couldn't evolve. Shi held his hand out closing his eyes. "DNA." Shi mumbled out as a black jumbled mess of Data formed. "Charge." Shi added hitting the top of the device as the twins were engulfed in a light.
Standing was now two Agumon. "One problem solved. Now for problem two." Shi said holding the device. How the hell should he work this thing.

Amber eyes met with yellow ones, as Maia found herself staring down her utterly stupid Digimon. "Kuu," a warning tone emitted, as the Digimon found himself clinging to the front of her shirt, tongue out and only centimeters from her nose. With a few more seconds, he would nudge it closer, receiving another warning of, "don't you dare." And, then it happened. Wet tongue ran itself across the tamer's face, as she quickly grabbed the fox by his collar, using her free hand to rapidly wipe the saliva off. "Ugh! You're not helping! How is this getting us out of this place?" Now, all she could smell were cookies from the Digimon's breakfast. It could be worse, she guessed.
Hanging by the neck, Kuu looked around, seemingly not phased. "Sounded like a good idea at the time," he answered, before his tamer decided to release him from her grip. The Kudamon fell to the ground with a small thump, but the grass mostly cushioned the fall. "Gotta lighten the mood, Maia," he finally added, from the ground. With a tilt of his head, he added, "oh, hey! Your wish came true! We're not alone now!"
What? Uh oh. That was never a promising thing for the monster to state! Unlike usual, though, he didn't go running off toward whatever the potential 'company' was. His tamer wasn't entirely certain if this was good or bad, but she'd accept it as some form of progression. "Please, tell me it's not another Arachnemon."
With this, the Digimon lifted his nose, sniffing the air. "nope! Doesn't sniff like one! But, maybe they all smell different!" That... was not comforting, either.

Shi looked at the device for a few more moments and his hand. Holding it out once more he tried to get champion now but his hand didn't get the energy again. "Wonder why it did that before." Shi asked shaking his head before putting the ite. away. Yasuo and Yuudai both shrugged. "Maybe it doesn't like us." Yuudai suggested but Yasuo just sighed. "It doesn't have emotions." Suddenly the device yelled something. "Arrow system online." Shi looked at it. "You were saying." Shi asked before putting his hands in his pockets. Shi started walking in a random direction but Yuudai went another way. "Where are you going?" Yasuo asked. "Towards the digimon." He calmly said.
Shi and Yasuo crossed their arms looking at one another before shrugging and following the Digimon towards the Digimon. He didn't know it was someone he met once and hoped they knew where they were going. Shi wasn't sure how the Digiportal threw them here instead of Terminus but he wasn't happy in the slightest.

With Maia on guard, she found herself panicking ten times more than earlier. After all, before, it was just an 'okay, we're lost' situation. Now, it fell more into a lost and possibly going to be killed situation, which sat less comfortably in the pit of the girl's stomach. But, Kuu was still just sniffing the air. Was the scent familiar? That didn't sit well, either. Until the Digimon's ears perked up, "Friend?" he finally questioned, but the uncertainty wavered in his tone. That still didn't comfort Maia any.
Finally, though, Kuu began moving toward the smell, with his tamer quickly on his tail, "Wait," she tried to protest, but the little fox kept out of her reach. "You can't just run toward things like this. Stop moving," she huffed, becoming more and more irritated. What if he was needlessly dragging them into trouble? They needed to go home. This certainly wasn't helpful!
With a bit of following, and giving up on protests, the girl finally found a human coming into view. Wait. Was that the guy that had the Mega from the other day? It couldn't be, right? That would explain her Digimon's hesitance on if he was friend or foe!

Shi was messing around with his digivice before a large map opened. Useful were it not for the fact that in a forest the map only showed trees. Nice to know just how lost you were though good Digivice. Shi glanced back and saw something running towards them though Yuudai and Yasuo were not on guard, was it not a threat. "Yasuo you feel it also." Yuudai asked and his brother nodded. "Yeah like in the village of beginning" Yasuo said but Shi was a bit lost. Finally when it came into view there was a small rookie running towards them and a human also.
Shi knew it was the girl from before but couldn't place a name, not liked they talked for a bit after that guy wandered off somewhere. Shi was thinking of everyone he met before placing a name. "Maia, I think." Shi said figuring it to be a bit rude to forget someone's name. Shi lifted the hand that still held on to the digivice before waving with a small smile. "Hey, nice to meet you again." Shi said taking the polite route this time, sometimes a simple nod and a sup wasn't the best course of action. Plus for all she knew he was a illusion and she was going crazy. best to say something nice so she doesn't come to the insane conclusion.

As Shi waved and spoke, relief washed over the girl. Oh, good. It actually was someone that she recognized. Sort of. It wasn't like they had actually talked. In fact, Maia just kind of wanted to forget about that stupid day. At least it was him instead of the weird spirit user. After all, that other guy was kind of annoying! At least Shi had only swooped in, saved the day, and not called her names or anything. "Oh! Shi!" she managed a smile, mostly at remembering his name. With all the people it seemed like she was meeting lately, it was getting harder to remember people. "Not saving the day for random passerby's today?" she attempted to tease, masking the clear relief at not running into something that wanted to kill her. Then again, who knew? Maybe that was Shi's plan all along. Okay. No. That sounded a bit paranoid. Being lost did weird things to one's head.
"Dinosaur-friends!" Kuu announced, almost obnoxiously, tilting his head before running toward the Agumons. Oh, he couldn't have at least used that descriptor before? At least Maia would have had something to go on if he had mentioned dinosaurs! "You're not really little or really big! You need to decide your size!" The rookie nodded, as if agreeing with himself. Hopefully, he wouldn't prove to be too annoying.

Shi was a bit happy to be remembered. Though seemed hard due to his unique name, not many were named death. Once she said that he took a moment to think of a good comeback, luckily not to long to be noticed. "Not from a lack of looking, are you in trouble again?" Shi said putting more emphasis on the again in a joking manner to send a tease back, if she was going to shoot them his way he was gonna represent. "Nah actually I'm totally lost and my Digivice ain't working right." Shi said looking at he item in question, why was this harder to use then his old one. Maybe it was because he was so used to not having to charge some soul like thing in his body, though he still held on to his old one for reasons, maybe he could power it back on somehow.
Yasuo and Yuudai weren't used the the name but figured they would respond anyway. "Hey it's you again." Yuudai said with a big toothy grin. "Nice to see you again." Yasuo said rather calmly but with a small smile. "Being big takes up a lot of energy, I'd gladly do it were I able to hold it." Yuudai sorta complained. Yasuo just smiled. "If Shi can figure out that new Digivice we can get to Ultimate." Shi looked back at he two. "Working on it." He told them, at least he was trying.

It was, indeed, hard to forget a name that translated to Death, but who was Maia to make a comment like that? After all, a guy couldn't really help what his parents named him. Unless Shi was a codename. That was always possible too, right? Wait, no. There went that paranoia again. She needed to knock that off. Stupid woods and being lost in said woods. She was going crazy, it was confirmed. Kuu likely had a part in the insanity, of course. He would have to take primary credit for being such an obnoxious thing.
Maia chose not to immediately answer the return joking, considering she was, in fact, lost. That could count as being in trouble, right? She'd rather not be viewed as a 'damsel in distress' all the time, however. "Oh, that's... not so great, actually," she pointed out, throwing a glance to the rookies. "Considering we're lost, too." Well, at least he couldn't expect her to help him out of the woods easily this way! Leaning to look at the device in Shi's hand, the blonde paused. "Wait. That's your Digivice?" No fair, she wanted a fancy looking one, too! Then again, if he couldn't get it to work well, maybe she didn't want one. She had a hard enough time with the standard one that Kuu came with! "Why does it look like that?"
The Kudamon looked between the two Agumon. They sure did have different personalities, huh? Kind of like Kuro and Shiro! But, maybe a little less grouchy than Kuro. "It's me again!" he confirmed, with a nod. "Do you prefer being big, or just smaller dinosaurs?"

"Oh sorry." Shi said figuring he should apologize for the joke, he was actually hoping she knew where she was, but beggers can't be choosers. "Well at least we're together, five is better then two or three.' Shi said hoping to cheer her up a little bit, might as we not be worried about being lost in a large forest in the middle of a world very few knew existed. Wait strike that why wasn't Shi freaking out. Shi looked at his device before deciding to answer. "I got it when I joined up with a organization called DATS not that long ago. They gave it to me but I'm not used to it yet." Shi said but smiled a bit. 'So at least now I'm not a random passerbyer. I'm a random passerbyer part of a organization few have heard of, quite a step up no." Shi joked, he had no idea what joining DATS did but hinder his mega level.
Yasuo and Yuudai both had different answers. "Big" Yuudai exclaimed but Yasuo said. "Small" Yuudai looked at his brother. "But we look cool bigger." Yasuo had a argument. "But we're easier to maintain strength small." Yuudai stomped wanting to get his point across. "No one will mess with us big." Yasuo calmly had a retort. "No one can find us easily smaller." The two argued this way for a bit.

"That's true," the tamer nodded. This was a hard comment to refute, after all. They were lost in a forest, so at least the more of them, the less likely they'd die, right? It would only be more comforting if Shi hadn't felt the need to get a glitchy Digivice. It was true, beggars couldn't be choosers, huh? Oh well. At least she was with someone who clearly had more experience with Digimon than she did. After all, at one point his monsters could reach Mega! Kuu had hardly been a Rookie for a few days at this point!
She listened to the explanation to the new device, thinking about it. DATS. That sounded familiar. "Oh, I think Kai mentioned DATS once," she murmured, mostly to herself. "So, it there an upside to the new Digivice? Or, is it just something to confuse you more than the original one?" Maybe they were just for aesthetic purposes. It was hard to tell with how stupid some Digimon-based things were. Like... well, everything. Everything about Digimon seemed pretty stupid to the girl at this point. None of this really made sense to her. Still, with the joking, Maia found herself smiling and trying to joke back, "well, that does make you sound pretty fancy!"
Kuu listened to the two bicker back and forth, ears twitching occasionally to correspond with whichever one was talking. Okay. Maybe they weren't like Kuro and Shiro. It wasn't fair to compare Digimon to one another just because they're both twin-based! "Can't they both be cool?"

Shi looked at he device. "Well it can make something called a digital field which is hard to see in unless you have glasses. It also has access to something called Burst mode which seems to be a huge power boost. It can also apparently connect to the database the organization has." Shi explained. "But, none of that really justifies me losing Mega, apparently it works on a digital soul thing which I have to make." Shi said shaking his head lightly and sighing. "Its quite confusing." Though her comment did make Shi crack a small smile. "What you saying I wasn't before?" Shi joked faking a little crestfallen attitude for some reason he felt like joking. Weird he was normally a lot colder then this, maybe it had to do with him getting lost and he was just masking his possibly doom with jokes. Alright time to stop thinking that way.
Yuudai and Yasuo had stopped arguing when the Digimon talked. "Sorry, we normally don't argue like that." Yuudai said scratching the side of his head. "Yeah no matter what we're always cool." Yasuo said before Yuudai agreed wholeheartedly. It was hard for Shi to believe these two fused and formed a powerful Mega when they let brotherly rivalry get in their way a lot.

The tamer listened to all that the device did. Not all of it really made sense to her. What was the point in making a place difficult to see in? The power boost sounded pretty nice, though. She couldn't deny that. But, a database? What kind of database did the organization have? Not that she'd ask, because that seemed like it would be private information. It probably didn't involve her, anyway, after all. Seeing the faux-offended reaction, Maia placed a hand on her hip. "I don't know," she teased, still smiling, "I mean, having a giant Digimon smash a spider was pretty fancy." What better way to cope from stress than with some form of humor? Not that Maia had seen Shi in a colder mood, though. After all, when they first met, he'd joked with her, too, albeit briefly.
Listening to the two Digimon agree that they didn't often fight, Kuu found it a little hard to believe. But, now they were agreeing, so it had to be true! Right? "That's alright. You're both super cool!" he nodded, making sure to nod at each individually. After all, they were individuals. Except for when they weren't. Oooh, that could make things confusing. Why did they have to become one Digimon together? How was he supposed to know what to call them like that?
Maia threw another glance to the three Rookie, choosing not to eavesdrop too much on their conversation. Chances are, it would only make for a headache, anyway. Instead, she'd turn back to talk to the seemingly sensible tamer. "So, do you have any ideas on how we stop being lost?" That would be a good start, right?

"Very true, can't get much fancier then that." Shi would of included the fact that it is also hard for humans who haven't been to the digital world to be in the field but he wasn't that sure on it himself, heck he just got the thing not like he tested it out first chance he got, alright he did but not that much. "Unless you want to wait for me to figure out how this works I suggest heading towards one of the areas in the forest. If we can get to the village of beginning or the training grounds I can find my way from there." Shi suggested, he had been to both places before and getting back seemed like it'd be easy from there. So long as they were there it was a simple matter of going east. He didn't have a compass on him right now, should think about that but a compass wouldn't work in the digital world. He'd check the sun but how could he be sure the sun set in the same direction, this wasn't his world.
Yasuo and Yuudai smiled. "Yeah we are, but I'm sure you'll get super cool also." Yuudai said encouraging the digimon, might as well right. "Yeah." Yasuo agreed with his brother and his hopes to get the digimons spirit up. Little did they both know he didn't need anymore then he had at the time.
"So which direction should we go?" Shi decided to ask her, he'd rather someone else pick the direction since he always led to people in need and right now they were in need. No need to add more people to the group.

"While it would be nice to see your Digivice working properly, maybe it would be better to be someplace safe for that," after all, who knew what else could be in the woods? It seemed too peaceful. But, she certainly didn't want to jinx it, either. Peaceful was plenty desirable at this point! The next problem was the idea of finding one of the places that Shi had suggested. Maia honestly had no idea how to find either of them. After all, she'd only ended up in the Village of Beginnings because of that stupid portal, anyway. But, if they found that place, she'd even be able to find her way back to the Trailmon Terminal after that.
Kuu seemed excited about the concept of becoming cool. What would he look like? Would he be able to fly? Flying would always be nice. Or, maybe he could be a dinosaur, too! Who knew! "I hope so!" the Rookie nodded, overenthusiastic as always. But, he didn't have a brother to merge with! How could he ever dream of being as awesome as the Agumons?
There was a short hesitation from Maia while she looked in each direction, she finally pointed to one side, which seemed like neither direction that the other had walked from. After all, what could randomly picking a direction hurt? Maybe a lot. Better not to overthink it. "This way looks... promising," was her delayed response, turning to begin walking, but making sure not to go too far before confirming if Shi was going to take this advice. There were no guarantees that it was a good plan. But, how big could this area be, anyway? As long as they managed to walk straight long enough, they had to get out of here and be someplace better, right? Trying to think of something to discuss, she started with, "so, how long have you had Digimon?"
