Eliminate the threat? Pfft. Best of luck, Paratrice Head. Scout's BigAgumon form drifts back to its feet, automatically spirit evolving to Agunimon as his D-Scanner seems to shatter and then re-form, going from black and green to red and black with golden Digicode stamped on the side of the casing. The light around him stretches up into the sky in an enormous pillar, and whilst it looks pretty boss, it's likely to get everyone's attention. "Alright. All together, now. Spirits, combine!"
An egg-like cocoon of light springs up around him, blocking the incoming shots from Paratrice Head. Oh no! How awful for the creature! Or whatever. The cocoon begins to rapidly grow as Scout's voice booms out from inside, "Triumphant Soul! Ultimate Digivolution! Agunimon Warp Digivolve to..." The cocoon shatters, revealing the apparent end-result of fusing Scout's spirits together. A humanoid dragon seemingly made entirely of white, red and golden metal, standing sixty to sixty-five feet tall. A long tail with a 'sun' shape at the tip grows from his back, followed by a pair of enormous wings bearing blue gemstones. Spikes grow from his knees, arms and helmet as his eyes open, clenching his fists, "ShineGreymon!"
His wings activate and he rockets up above the trees, only vaguely aware of how massive he is right now as he stares the Paratrice Head down. Light gathers at the glowing tips of his wings, moving along them to the large gemstones that comprise the wingjoints. The energy is quickly translated into an enormous ball of superheated energy between his hands, "Glorious Burst!" The ball seems to almost propel itself towards the Paratrice Head's form, trying to burrow deep within the creature's body and explode.
He's never felt so powerful before. This is the result of uniting five of his spirits? Jeez. What happens when he unites all seven of them?! His eyes briefly search the area to try and spot the others, clinging to the hope they haven't been taken down already.
Samudramon feels the urge to join in once more, summoning all of his energy for his big, super-awesome finisher attack. Or...whatever. Cough. Maybe he's been spending too much time with Scout. "Omega Victorize,". A colossal fiery effigy of AncientGreymon, easily as big as ShineGreymon, is formed directly around Samudramon. It roars and charges forwards with the one who summoned it, crashing into Paratrice Head at the same instant Scout's attack hits. What? All-out attack isn't a bad strategy. And the sooner they're done here, the sooner they can go back the others up.

As a second set of wings appeared on the armor champion, Kuu seemed absolutely delighted. "I asked for something and it happened, Maia! I can fly! Look at my wings!" Oh, yes. All four of them. Two separate sets of wings on one Digimon? What was happening? A digimon with a pre-existing set certainly didn't need to be sprouting extras!
Noticing the light from her Digivice, the girl lifted the screen to read it. Great. It was pretending that she swiped a card. About a thousand times over, even! "And just when I thought it was working normally," she mumbled, tapping the screen with a fingernail. Oh well. She really couldn't complain about something convenient happening for once! But, with all of the Quetzalmon's giggling, Maia could only find herself uttering, "you really don't need that many wings."
"I can never have too many wings."
The talking definitely needed to wait for another time, though, as Elliot was getting beaten, and then decided to take a rain of sickles to protect the distracted serpent. "Sharp-pointies?" Kuu hummed, as he hurried to collect Maia from Elliot. Once she was safely on his back, he began toward the Optimizer, as it seemed Elliot really wanted to go against the other monster. "I can do sharp-pointies! Maia, hold on," he advised, cheerful as ever. Sure, Elliot was kind of getting the crap beaten out of him, but it was all part of the game, right? Or, uh, mission. Yeah.
In a flash of light, the Digimon whirled from one evolution to another, only pausing at the end to flail scythe-arms around, in a karate-like fashion, and quietly announce, "Kyukimon!" Oh yes, he was proud. Not entirely sure how she managed to stay put on a Digimon through it's entire body changing, Maia was now leaning over the Ultimate's shoulder, looking more than uncomfortable as the Wings of Light continued to beat to her sides. "You better win, Elliot! Heroes always gotta win!" Kuu cheered, as he began full-speed toward the Optimizer's cords, much as Elliot had instructed. In the air, everything seemed a little strange when it came to running attacks that the Digimon was used to using on the ground, but he'd certainly make due.
Reaching blades out, Kyukimon was making sure to be careful of Maia's positioning on his shoulder, trying to keep her out of the way. And, in response, it seemed the tamer was feeling the very same way, trying to keep herself as small and close to her Digimon as possible. God forbid, someone drop her. Or strike her, instead of him. "Sanrensei," the nightmare soldier hummed, lashing toward the cords with sickled arms. One could only hope that with one appendage seemingly inoperable at the second, he might be able to get in a good hit.

D-Evidramon
It might have been a good idea to go directly for the Optimizer while it was running on low power, but despite his own request, Elliot moved right off to block the attack meant for Kuu. And to be fair, it was quite effective at doing that: each scythe meant for the armor champion instead snapped against Elliot's temporarily icy body, allowing Kuu to slip away from the assault. But that didn't mean the attack was any less damaging: even against the gargoyle's reinforced body, each scythe would leave a thin gash and a painful singe, the red mass of the D-Reaper caking over each wound after a moment. It was truly only for the merit of that modify card that Elliot wasn't torn to shreds.
And it wasn't as if the entity was going to back off. With such a willing target sitting with a wide profile, D-Evidramon took no immediate change in strategy, and continued beating its wings, the howling wind of darkness attempting to overtake Elliot's position. There was no break from the previous attack, just a continuous torrent of that sharp, corrupt energy. Elliot was left in a war of attrition!
Optimizer
This did, however, give Kyukimon a chance to switch places with Elliot... and Maia a chance to get on Kuu's back! Fast and low, underneath the smoking body of the D-Reaper, the weasel attempted to get a quick sever on those well-bound cords. But, in a way, wasn't it strange that it went all-out so early, just against the Gargoylemon?
Whatever the reason, the initial strike went through, a slice through its side a quarter of the way through appearing in a gash, thick red goop appearing right on Kuu's blades. But the threat, currently, wasn't the Optimizer: it was the field they had to fly so close to, in order to get a shot at it. Beneath, the field bubbled, and in the D-Reaper's own insane fashion, a large red palm, belonging to a hand at least twice the weasel's size, erupted upward in an attempt to snatch the pair right out of the ground. And above, the Optimizer's arms were rising once more, the 'light' turning back on in its head. Electricity was already sparking from its claws...
Paratice Head
It would have taken a miracle for one to stand up against that assault...
... Well. Discovering your mega spirit in this hellscape was a miracle all on its own. Finding its assault deflected, the Paratice Head ceased firing, in order to conserve its energy for a large blast instead: at a distance, its teeth clicked together in a fierce crackle, a faint light beginning to glow beneath. Scout, though, seemed a fair bit quicker on the draw: in the rise of its evolution, its own blast came right for it. And a red light billowed from the Paratice's palms... and slowed it down, considerably! The ball of light slowly took on a red hue. "This world has no place for such-"
At about this point, though, Samudramon's addition added onto the blast. The red light waned, and soon fell away, the Paratice head falling backwards, before being completely consumed and disintegrated in the blast. The cord fizzled with a 'pop', and began to fall away itself.
Shinegreymon had the stage.

As ice was marred by thick gashes and Elliot's white scales became caked in burning pink goo, Elliot realized that he was going to have to come up with a better plan. At this point, he had been put through so much pain from so many attacks that the pain receptors in his body were starting to grow weak and numb. He was honestly surprised that he wasn't dead yet, even as his lifelines burned away one by one. He was out of new Digivolution levels. Wizardmon had cast his once-per-day spell. He had blown his Hypoparticle, the one defensive card he had in his arsenal. If he continued to hold the line like this and his Hypoparticle ran out, he would be a dead mon walking. His luck had run out.
And then he heard Kuu's encouragement, the first kind words since Scout had broken down. Something about his best friend still believing in him despite everything caused his resolve to strengthen one last time.
Immediately he hardened his skin like a stone, an effective move for two reasons. The first was that his stony skin contributed even harder to the defense his Hypoparticle provided, the still-painful slices at least no longer drawing blood. The second was that it got him out of the direct range of D-Evidramon's wind scythes, buying him only precious few seconds to catch his breath. He turned back to normal once just above the red mass below, flushing out his wings to rise on the air currents. If he dawdled, he'd be grabbed at. If he rose too high, he'd be back in the path of the scythes. He'd have to fly low and fast, and never let himself stay in one direction for too long lest D-Evimon started leading its shots. Slowly he began his ascent, winding forwards and backwards to throw his pursuer off as he planned a course of action. It couldn't keep attacking forever.
Part of him knew he was throwing his life away. Even with the Hypoparticle, which became increasingly thawed and cracked, he was taking bad damage. Each turn reminded him that his wings were strained and aching. The cuts on his arms and torso were bleeding beneath the pink D-Reaper goop. The burning sensation from each attack was beginning to add up badly. It was simple. If he didn't keep this thing distracted, Kuu would be in major trouble. If he did keep it distracted, he likely wouldn't be able to last more than two rounds. And what would be his reward if he did overcome the impossible and live? A dead brother? It'd be easier just to quit now.
Another part of him knew he couldn't. Isaac took up the mission to keep the Digital World safe. What brother would he be if he gave up that mission just over a personal loss? The urge to do something more, something bigger, and properly live up to his brother's goals made Isaac want to continue. A voice in the back of his head screamed at him to quit, and all he could do was say no and soldier on. Each cut, each bruise, each drop of blood was a necessary sacrifice for the good of this world, even if Elliot was really contributing a lot of them by now.
And a last part of him? Gargoylemon's primal hunger burned underneath the surface, red-hot and raging. He wanted his teeth tearing out D-Evidramon's throat. He wanted his claws sinking into its flesh. He wanted to rend its wings and send it plummeting into the red depths below. He wanted to smash it flat like a fallen stone. It was the symbol of everything Elliot lost, and all of the pain he had been through on this mission. It wore his brother's corpse like a jacket, mocking him with its mere existence. There was only one thing Elliot could want from such a creature.
Revenge.
He zig-zagged left, and then suddenly broke pattern to soar high into the air. His goal was to get to D-Evidramon's upper right flank, where his thrashing tail, gnashing jaws, and clawing hands would have a harder time reaching him. Elliot's charge was furiously paced, a bestial war cry echoing from his throat as he beelined right toward D-Evimon. His left hand remained up, protectively covering his face so he could block or parry an incoming move. His right hand was primed for a vicious claw strike, preferable aimed at a throat or other vulnerable area once the left hand cleared the airspace.
It was time to make this interesting.

With their own immediate problem dealt with, Scout and B had immediately gone looking for the others. Fortunately, they weren't too hard to spot given...the yelling and the explosions. Dead giveaway. Scout can feel his enthusiasm and energy come back as he delights in the new power that his fused spirits have given him. Time to put them to use to help the others.
Samudramon peels off and veers sharply to the side, heading off to lend Elliot a little assistance, swinging his swords around in the air. "Rinageki,". Portals open in the air around D-Evidramon, releasing white ribbons of superheated energy to try and ensnare the Digimon and hold it in place so Elliot can more easily attack the thing. "You may attack freely. My bonds will hold it for a time before detonating,"
Scout, in the meantime, uses his newfound speed to give Maia some assistance with the Optimizer. They seem to be doing something closer to the ground, so maybe he can at least distract the thing for them. The five shining blue tips of each wing begin to glow, and energy begins to crackle around ShineGreymon's body. "Solar Shooter!" The attack peppers the Optimizer's entire body with dozens of superheated energy bullets, but Scout doesn't stop moving. He circles the thing as fast as he can, always trying to stay ahead of any counterattack that might come his way. Heck, he's not even sure he's hit the limit his power yet, but he's going to need more of an opening than this. "Hey, ugly, over here!"

"Today is a very 'crud' day," Kuu chattered, through the sickle between his teeth. The Digimon felt nothing as the red goop seared across his blades, despite the fact that it was very clearly damaging him. At least that seemed a perk of this slice-y digivolution. No pain receptors! Or something. Who knew? Maybe Kuu was just naturally a little faulty.
While the fox wanted to press on, hearing Maia insist, "we need to move," brought the Ultimate to realize that there was an angry hand reaching from beneath them.
"So much crud," the monster whined, as he scrambled to fly away from the hand's grasp. With his tamer's quick instructions, the Kyukimon managed to keep out of clutches of the hand, though it seemed that he had managed to get a bit of the burning substance on his tail. How did this kind of stuff happen?! Chances were, Kuu had a closer call than he thought. But, then again, it wasn't like he even realized that there was red sizzling away at his fur. Maia was the one panicking about all of the damage. Good thing she had plenty of distractions to forget about the part where they were still flying!
And, when the thought had reached them that this was going to be much harder than anticipated, Scout rejoined the fight. Or, at least, Maia assumed it was Scout. Who else would that be?
While the red goop faded off of Kyukimon's tail, fireballs began to rapidly swirl out from it. Five were formed, and quickly flung at the cord again. Letting out a large exhale, the Digimon hummed, "Demon's Fireball," while the attack took place. Otherwise, though, he was flying rather cautiously. Dropping Maia would be an awful thing, after all! And, she seemed really distressed! Was it the flying still? Or just being in such close proximity to the fight? Usually, Kuu tried to keep her a short distance away from it, after all!
But, since the girl wasn't talking, he wasn't going to press the issue. "I wish I could hit harder, too," the fox grumbled lowly, before waving a still red goo-coated arm in the air, to cheer, "yay, Scout!" Then, there was a pause of, "that was his name right?" Ugh. Hopefully he wasn't wrong! This felt like a long day! Heck, had it even been a hour yet?!
"Yeah, it's his name. Can you, uh, stop getting hurt like that? I'm afraid your scythes are going to dissolve."
Pssh. That would mean that Kuu had to be too careful! It was hard enough not to get Maia hurt! She was asking way too much here!

D-Evidramon
Mid-air combat wasn't simple enough that the entity could simply maintain its position: as soon as Kuu was out of range, and as Elliot changed his approach, D-Evidramon adapted, spreading to its full wingspan as Elliot made his drop. The sudden transmutation into stone gave the Gargoylemon a fair bit of acceleration, but by cutting its own altitude and spreading its wings, the winged demon move to follow its target, an occasional beat of its wings meant to pepper Elliot with additional blades of dark energy.
But, eventually, Elliot broke form and decided to go on the attack. And with its own roar from its formless face, the D-Evidramon seemed like it was baiting the challenge. All he had to do was get just a little closer-
"Graugh!"
Samudramon's interference came at just that moment! As the bindings started around its arms, the monster forced its wings out, fighting against the taut nature of the attack. The monster was left to 'improvise', which was a feat most of these straightforward entities wouldn't be able to manage.
Well. Most. Fighting against the bindings, its claws out of play and wings forced to struggle to keep upright rather than attack head-on, the creature lashed out its tail, flicking to the side in view of the Gargoylemon. And in the next moment, a burst of dark bullets, individually small but in great number, came out in a spread towards Elliot. This move, however, did not belong to Devidramon at all.
No. This was Orochimon's Rattling Gun. And a number of the creature's eyes locked on the Samudramon as well, just to keep further tabs on him...
Optimizer
With a twitch of its fingers, the once-limp arms of the Optimizer were raised again, electricity crackling over its frame as it came 'back online'. Though it would be hard to tell, this was due to the damage that Kuu had already inflicted on the cords, blue sparking overtaking the weakened area as the D-Reaper's mass began to pool in that area, to start patching against its heavy damage. The 'hand of the D-Reaper' itself, after barely nicking the bladed weasel, simply fell back into the mass, formless as it ever was.
Back 'online', its awareness of the targets surrounding it returned. As Kuu's flame rained down towards the cords, the Optimizer swiped down a claw, three of them scorching the back of the hand, as two more tore at the target. It screeched in pain... and, like with the D-Evidramon, Kuu was no longer fighting alone! In a more general sense, the large creature did nothing to shield itself from damage, deep red welts appearing over its purple frame wherever the bullets would strike. This was, of course, the D-Reaper's mass immediately moving to repair and nullify the effect of the wounds.
Still... it was far too late to count Optimizer out for the count: although it was more meant as a siege weapon, it was a powerful, resistant entity all its own, both of its palms charging with electrical energy... and of different sorts, this time. Towards the taunting ShineGreymon, a powerful bolt of energy would rocket forth, aimed at its chest... and a small distance away, it would break up into five different bolts, arcing towards the mega's metal armor rather than rely on the low accuracy of a straight blast.
And as for Kuu? He would now have to experience the 'Hand of Mjolnir' on its own, a claw quickly moving forward as if to pluck the weasel out of the air. As before, even if the grasp missed, if he was within ten feet of its range, the charged energy of the hand would jump forth to any available target: Kuu, and Maia. He had been led on with barely dodging the hand... would Kuu think to give this one a wider berth?

Occasional peppering was far better than long, concentrated pain, but that didn't mean it was pleasant. Elliot grimaced as he tried to dodge the blades, but even as glancing blows they were doing severe damage to his last layers of hypoparticle protection. One glancing blow caused deep cracks to spread among the ice. Another caused shimmering crystals to fall into the D-Reaper's goop, reflecting Elliot's protections rapidly falling away. A third caused the ice to shatter off entirely, Elliot suddenly feeling a rush of heat as the remains of his ice shield cracked into uselessness. Now dripping wet and severely vulnerable, he knew staying away from the fight would be top priority. However, the thirst for vengeance was still screaming in his ear, ordering him to finish the fight.
It became all the more tempting when D-Evidramon was shackled by Samudramon's strike. Chains of light wrapped around him, and binding his arms and leaving him far more vulnerable. It became so tempting to just charge up to the beast and tear out its throat, and the hunger of the beast spirit was becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Elliot continued his charge, arms drawn back and ready to strike.
Then he felt a sharp pain in his side. The first of many dark bullets from the Rattling Gun had been fired, striking Elliot harshly in the shoulder. His arm drooped, and for a second he felt infinitely thankful that it was no longer carrying Maia. If it had been any stronger of an attack, it likely would have spelled the end of any function in that arm. Instead, as is, it was simply an intense pain. But Elliot recognized that attack, and that meant he recognized that there would be plenty more bullets where that came from. One strategy would be flying as far away from the tail as possible and making himself a flatter target, reducing the bullet spread to something far more reasonable. The other, and more fun, strategy was to get right in D-Evidramon's face, getting out of tail range and reaching the front.
The latter option was the option of Elliot's choosing. He banked a hard left, getting away from the tail and facing the beast head on. A few stray shots slammed into his back, smoke rising from the wounds and warning Elliot that another move like that could be crippling. However, he didn't care. The only things in his mind were him and that dirty brother killer. The Sapphire Nail extended from both hands, one aimed in a throat-tearing thrust and the other trying to rake across its frontal eyes. If the strikes connected he would hook on, grasping for the "nose" and "chin" of the mouthless beast and trying to tear its jaw wide open.
Elliot expected to have something to say, but words escaped him. Maybe he could have screamed about everything the D-Reaper put him through. Maybe he could have expressed remorse it had to be this way. Maybe he could have declared this was justice for his brother, or outrage over D-Evimon daring to wear his face and use his techniques. Instead, he simply roared and howled like a feral animal. Gargoylemon's burning hot emotions had fully pierced his stony exterior, and without Maia in his hand to worry about the last seal on his dignity had been shattered. Kuu was wrong. He wasn't the hero, he was the dragon, and his feral rage only further empowered him as he sought to make D-Evidramon suffer. He was like Kong on Skull Island, seeking furious retribution against the dinosaurs he fought.
He was also probably playing right into D-Evidramon's hands.

Pfft. Well, first of all, those energy ribbons around D-Evidramon's limbs suddenly explode, hopefully doing some damage to said limbs. If not, that's fine, Samudramon's not done yet. He's not about to let Elliot fight this battle alone, "Tera Kenjutsu," He crosses his swords again, propelling another super-high power fireball past Elliot to strike D-Evidramon in the stomach. What? Might as well try and help the kid beat this thing while he's here. He's sure Scout's fine. "Stay focused. End this quickly. I've got your back." Yeah. He should really have learned Elliot's name.
"You'd better get ready to finish this quickly, I'm gonna be out of it for a while after I do this," ShineGreymon raises both hands to face the Optimizer, a sphere of orange energy rapidly growing there. Soccer-ball sized, then house-sized, then pointlessly enormous. "Corona...Breaker!" Yup. ShineGreymon's strongest attack. And why? Well. Honestly he's tired of fighting, but also he wants to deal with this Optimizer before he gets hurt further. Or Maia or her weasel get hurt more, of course. The energy bolt launched from the Optimizer finally connects with ShineGreymon as he stops moving post-attack. He winces, feeling the pain shoot through his body. That had...not been a light hit. But it was still much easier to deal with than if he'd been stuck at the Ultimate level.
Yeah, this fight needed to end now. Especially since the Optimizer essentially had a free shot at ShineGreymon while he was recharging his internal power reserves from that last ridiculous attack.

"Kuu." The panic from his rider was clear, if only from the quiver in her voice. This was just a bad time. The group was definitely outranked when it came to this mission, and Scout, and his partner, seemed to be the only ones potentially on-level with the enemies. And, being just a regular human, this entire event was even worse than it could possibly get.
But, Kuu wasn't paying attention to his tamer. "No promises!" The scythebeast chirped toward Scout. Well! He couldn't promise anything! Especially since he wasn't a mega! Why couldn't he be all tough? He'd have to get Scout's autograph later on, or something! ...Would that be weird? Bah, why would Kuu care about being weird now, of all times? He'd do what he wanted, no matter how strange it is to ask a random non-famous person for their signature! What was up with people wanting stranger's signatures, anyway? Oh, he'd have to think about it later. There were more pressing matters at hand!
The Hand of Mjolnir seemed plenty intimidating, after all. And, Kuu couldn't even pretend that he didn't know the affects of it. It wasn't like the Digimon was oblivious to everyone around him, and he was pretty sure Elliot had already dealt with this once!
Jerking back, the Ultimate had to make a decision on his route unfortunately quickly. Leaving without some sort of counter felt just wrong though, after all Scout had put into his move. "Will O Wisp!" While non-damaging, at least the spinning, warm lights may cause a decent enough distraction to enable him to escape without fear of arcing electricity. Maia wasn't a Digimon. She couldn't handle being zapped! The bright orbs moved toward the Optimizer, whirling rapidly around it, if not swatted away.
With a huff, the Digimon tilted his head to check on his tamer, before shouting to the immobilized Scout, "sorry! I've got a priority! I'll break Zappy-Guy soon!" Elliot would be so upset with Kuu if he had handed off Maia, just to get her hurt thirty seconds later! That would just be wrong! Plus, she was his human. Without her, there was no digivolution, and no cookies!

Optimizer
Well, well... Scout wasn't beating around the bush here anymore, now was he? As the orange blast started, and grew to a brightness and proportions rivaling a small sun, the Optimizer's attention was effectively drawn away from Maia and Kuu. The Will-o-Wisp itself would start to circle around the larger target, but the Hand of Mjolnir, in addition to Kuu's dodge, would be brought short.
If this entity was going to survive a blast of this caliber, after all, it was going to need all of its attention forward. Turning to face the ShineGreymon, the Optimizer raised both of its claws, palms facing out as the energy blast careened towards itself. As the attack would strike, the large entity quivered, forced backwards at the force of the blast... but after a moment? It seemed to maintain, gripping its claws around the fiery energy. The hands blistered, red welts popping at the back as its mass fell into the conglomerate below, but it held. And there, both of its hands started to spark with electrical energy, feeding its own energy into the blast, the small sun starting to pulse and glow brighter.
Its focus was drawn forward, entirely on this blast. But if it was allowed to succeed with this? Well... who knew what the range of this explosion would be?
D-Evidramon
The exploding ribbons were, of course, the more immediate threat: with a flash of light, they exploded right in close proximity to D-Evidramon's back and wings, bright red lines of the D-Reaper's default texture overtaking the place they overlapped. The creature staggered, but managed to maintain his position in the air...
... But that stagger was enough for Elliot to weave his way through the small pause in the bullets, and put himself right in direct range! One claw was immediately drawn up, brought to grip at the arm about to tear at his neck. Elliot's position, however, made it difficult to see behind... for ordinary creatures. But D-Evidramon made it a point to keep a large amount of its eyes directly on Samudramon, and twisting its body, the fireball would careen past its side, and off into the horizon.
This left the last Sapphire Nail, directly at its head... and Elliot's grapple would take hold, the Gargoylemon occupied at that head, trying to tear it right open! Beneath, the creature seemed to writhe and struggle... but Elliot, in his enraged state, had likely made a critical error. Beneath, both of the creature's claws made a bright red glow, Ruby Nail covering both of its claws. It would try and bring one arm around the Gargoylemon's back, and keep Elliot close in that grapple...
... And it would try and thrust its other claw right forward, towards Elliot's chest, and dig his claws right for the twin's core. It wouldn't just be the sharpened nails: the burning force of the D-Reaper enhanced it as well. Heck, Elliot would feel the burning on his hands, even just trying to rip open those fangs!

Elliot giggled as his Sapphire Nail landed directly. He didn't mind the pain. That was just further proof his attack landed, the jaw hooked and the eye raked. The warm splash was every bit as much blood as it was acid, and even as steam rose from his nails he found a primal bloodlust tickled by the sensation. Once he made contact he started to pull and wrench with all his might, continuing to giggle as his brother's killer writhed in his grip. Elliot seemed gone, at least for the time being. Now Gargoylemon was in full control, and Gargoylemon wanted to make his prey pay. His concealed eyes were focused entirely on D-Evidramon's maw, just waiting for the sweet moment where he literally tore it open.
If only he paid more attention to what was going on around him. The beast was impossible to sate, and a hungering beast's focus was far too single-minded. It was only after D-Evidramon's claw pierced into his chest that Elliot noticed what its plan was. His giggling gave way to a bestial roar as the nails jutted into his chest, burning him from the inside. Elliot didn't know the specifics of how Digimon anatomy worked, but whether a heart or a core he knew anything going for the chest was bad news. His grip started to weaken from the pain, and his vision started to blur slightly. He released the top of D-Evidramon's head, frantically grabbing for his foe's wrist instead. It would burn like hell trying to keep his claw away, but he couldn't let it run him straight through. He fought to keep airborne, propped up slightly by D-Evidramon's claw, and his breathing grew heavy.
As he groped for the wrist, however, inspiration struck. He turned to Samudramon, roaring "Cut it!" as his freakishly large hands tried to clamp around D-Evidramon's wrist. With one hand around the wrist and the other hooked around the lower jaw, he took a deep breath and turned himself to stone. A clamped wrist was hard enough to pull out in the first place, but when the wrist was locked in a stone shackle it would be even more difficult. Meanwhile, his increased weight was now pulling straight down on D-Evidramon's jaw. Even if it wouldn't be as strong as a straight prying open, it'd hopefully keep putting pressure on an already-weakened area.
His plan was set now. All he could do was try his best to hold his focus, even as the world blurred around him and pain seeped through the inside of his body. Just hang on for a little bit longer, and then he'd get a much-needed edge.

Scout sighs inwardly as he watches the Optimizer catch his attack. The most powerful attack he'd ever pulled off. Heck, so powerful that he was completely immobile now. There was no way to beat this thing. It was unstoppable. And even his best was naught against the power of this...entity they were fighting.
Unfortunately, a defeatist mindset wasn't exactly what had been anticipated by whatever forces had willed his spirits to fuse and his D-Scanner to evolve into its new form, and the spirits to fuse together into a single heroic form. With a flare of purple, he reverts to SkullGreymon, still immobile. Cheer up, emokid.
The change doesn't go unnoticed by Samudramon, even as he and Gargoylemon continue their fight. He sees the dark energy pulse over from where his partner's glorious Mega form had been standing, and feels his 'gut' drop. Worse, his own form sparks with violet energy as he feels his strength start to fade. Maybe they really are linked. "We must hurry. I do not have long. Cross Slicer," His swords light up with superheated energy. He does away with his usual fluid movements and makes a direct, to-the-point motion, attempting to slash through D-Evidramon's arm as quickly as he can with the energy-wrapped blades.
The sooner they're done here, the sooner he can get Scout away from this nonsense.

"You-You're kidding," the tamer huffed, watching the Optimizer grab onto the powerful attack. Eyes turned back to Scout, trying to collect her thoughts. Okay. Okay. They needed to be able to do this fast. And, at this point, it wasn't even a matter of if Maia was going to get hurt or not. With Scout already de-digivolving, and who knew how well Elliot and Samudramon were actually handling, they really needed to take the opportunity of the Optimizer's hands being a bit full. The flying Ultimate hesitated, not entirely sure what to do. Feeling his tamer tighten her grip on his fur, he shifted to try to look at her face better. "Holding tight?"
This received a nod, while she buried her face in her partner's blue mane. "Mhm."
"I'll be careful!" It was always less reassuring when the Digimon tried to make her feel better about things like this. Not that it particularly mattered in this instance. Flying was already plenty out of Maia's comfort zone, after all!
"Don't," she snapped, quickly. And, just as Kuu had begun to move, he stopped again. "We need this to end, quickly." Well. That tone implied there was no negotiation. But, it would be hard for the Kyukimon to not worry about his tamer! If only she could live in a little, safe bubble someplace!
Still, he wasn't going to argue. Otherwise, it would result in Mad Maia again, and he just wasn't feeling that right now! "Kay!" At least Kuu had to sound cheerful about endangering his tamer, right? "Keep tight! Off we go!"
Moving toward the earlier target, the cord that Kuu had been working at earlier, the Digimon appeared to glide across the air. Working into a spin around the distracted monster, sickles shifted outward, in an attempt to cut the entire circumference of the cable. With any luck, digging blades around the entire thing might sever it properly! "Kamaitachi."

Optimizer
'Unstoppable', though perhaps perceived from the creature not immediately being felled by the attack, wasn't quite right. For one, the damage from the attack was certainly frightening, and two, its attention was still drawn forward towards the fireball. The entity couldn't neutralize the attack, nor could it pull it to either side - that would risk damaging the core - or throw it upwards and away. Thus, the Optimizer was left with only one option:
Self-destruction. Instead of try and divert the blast, the creature chose to agitate it, electrical energy pulsing from its hands, turning the sphere into a makeshift bomb. If it would be allowed to detonate it, everyone around would be caught in its explosive maelstrom. There was only one chance:
Its exposed cord. The size of the blast made time, time enough for Kuu to sneak underneath, behind the blast. And, with several slashes, red goop caking over the weasel's blades, the Optimizer's support would be entirely cut through. Above, the creature gave a spasm, its arms sparking as it started to give way. Under the weight of the blast, and losing control like the Paratice Head earlier, it started to fall backwards -
Wait. Under the blast? Yes: unable to restrain it, and having laced it with its own power, the bomb would be forced to go off prematurely. With a loud, deafening 'boom', it would pulse out wide, in all directions, a maelstrom of fire and electrical energy, enough to reduce the Optimizer to shreds, create a crater in the D-Reaper's field itself, and move outward quickly.
Devidramon
It went without saying, that Elliot would not be in the best of conditions at the moment. Whether or not the entity-turned-demon could pierce Elliot's core, the gargoyle would not only feel the burn around his palms, but through his chest and ribs as well. The D-Reaper's corrosive touch would be embedded deep within Elliot's body. At this rate, it would only be a matter of time -
Ah, stone! Feeling the quick shift in weight, the creature struggled to maintain in the air, the claws gripped around his arm and hand. The Samudramon's follow-up was precise, moving right through that trapped arm, severing it in one complete cut. And at nearly the same moment, the claw would sheer through that jaw, yanking it right off...
... But the effect of these physical attacks would prove difficult to gauge. There was no response of pain from the D-Evidramon, the chin bubbling as the wound started to seal shut, leaving a flat, smooth surface where the blade had severed its arm. The other claw, though, was still deep within Elliot's chest, and separated from the body, it didn't keep solid form: embedded in the Gargoylemon's chest, was a red, pulsing, corrosive goop, intent on eating through the creature's chest. The entity gave Elliot a mere glance, before turning its attention towards the Samurdramon.
The D'evidramon's remaining claw gave a pulse. And a moment later, it raised a blade, that of a Samudramon, right towards the air. Imbued with lightning energy, it would give a slash out, intending to take the mercenary in a direct exchange of blows.
As for Elliot?
The D-Reaper no longer even thought of him as a threat.
