Kernel
Indeed, the multiple array of Demon's Fireball would pepper over both Kuu and Scout for several seconds: with the armored Mega below charging up his attack, he would find a large number pelting into his armor, enough to bring that armor to an uncomfortable baking temperature... and if Kuu could feel pain, well, he'd be quite beyond screaming at the multiple large welts over the ultimate's body! It seemed inevitable at this rate: the blasts would wear both of them down, and another couple of spheres would collect all three of them in a matter of seconds. In a war of attrition, the D-Reaper truly had the advantage!
... Well, that would be the case, if Kuu didn't take an unexpected spike in form! Ebemon had kept the shield trained forward, preparing to block whatever the armored dragon was preparing to do, that he wasn't expecting a second mega!
"Oh, no you don't!"
Sure, Kuu and Maia moved around the panels, but that didn't mean they had to stay where they were! As Kuu prepared his attack, the green rectangles broke from their current formation, creating the wall at the new location, in front of the approaching Izuna! Oh, if they didn't like a hundred fireballs, how would they deal with 40 foxes? Like this, the D-Reaper could-
- Wait what was that flaming dragon?! The Corona Breaker crashed into the middle of the impromptu shield, and with the assistance of Izuma. broke through it like a drill! Green shrapnel falling apart into red goo, the attack carried through, and struck the side of the kernel, splintering it open like an eggshell.
And there, for the first time, the Ebemon - the mastermind - stood exposed!
"Tch!"
It wasted no time! Raising its rifle in response, the Ebemon traced its scope right at the center of the Sakuyamon, reticle glowing red in its eye as it targeted Sakuyamon...
... No, as it targeted Maia's center, right through the Sakuyamon's back. "Planet Destroyer!" And a fast, accurate laser rocketed out, threatening to pierce right through the fresh mega!
D-Evidramon
There wasn't much to say about Isaac and Elliot's predicament: though the spherical barrier surrounded the two, the falling goop simply took to surrounding that than the pair as a whole. And as it fell, it even gripped around the shield, creating a ball of red, encapsulating the two inside, a hissing sound already burning away at the shield...

Inside of the Daimyo Defender bubble, something was stirring . . .
Elliot and Isaac, when they began their transformation, they thought they would've taken on the form of Dualdramon. It was a desperate move, but also the only one they thought was remotely feasible. Turned out when in the Digital World, the feasible course of action was rarely the one that actually went into effect. Instead, they found all of their spirits coming together, refining and perfecting themselves in time to achieve something entirely new.
As the light within the bubble started to fade, what was once two scared brothers was now one determined warrior. It resembled a black and gold Dynasmon, albeit with the ceremonial plating of a Samudramon covering it. In its good hand it bore a helix-shaped blade, as jagged as a lightning bolt, and the arm that still hung limp from Elliot's suicide run had the Brave Shield resting on it. A crimson cape and silver hair spilled from behind the Digimon, completing the look. It didn't exactly look in the best state. Scratches, burns, and slices covered its armor, the metal horn on its snout was cracked, and the skirt protecting its legs was torn. Nevertheless, a fresh new determination burned within its blood.
By now, the bubble was starting to crack. Even as entire conversations between the brothers progressed at the speed of thought, their internal struggles were starting to eat up a lot of time. It didn't help that the former D-Evidramon had completely surrounded the bubble, the pressure of its gooey body threatening to collapse the shield entirely. The new fusion knew its time, so short and new, would be heavily limited if it didn't act soon.
Its back unfolded, revealing a pair of jump jets. The jets sparked with atmospheric energy, erupting in green, phosphorous-fed fire as the fusion charged as high into the air as possible. Its cape spread like wings, catching any air it could and leaving it all the more aerodyanmic. The higher it could rise, the longer it would have to escape. The longer it would have to escape, the better the chance it stood to make it out of this situation alive. It clutched its sword tight, hoping for some focus as it threatened to push against the sound barrier.
It was when the Daimyo Defender was really starting to crumble that the fusion flung out its wings, stopping in mid-air. It looked around at the steadily collapsing bubble, a smirk born of desperation forming underneath its helmet. "So that's how it's gonna be? Well, then, how about we heat things up a bit?" it asked, both brothers internally cringing and blaming the other for that terrible line. Its jump jets folded up even higher, building up as much power as possible while the bubble started to fade. Five . . . four . . . three . . . two . . .
With a vicious war cry the jump jets ignited. Whereas before they were used to fly, now their power was being channeled to immolate the fusion in brilliant green flame. For anyone who looked to the skies, they would see a flaming V written in the air.
Hopefully, they would take it as a sign to stay determined. After all, the V was for Victory. (Relicdramon used Afterburner - Relicdramon lifts the back of his armor high, exposing the jump jets hidden beneath. He then turns the temperature on the jets to their maximum, overheating them to douse anyone nearby in a huge gout of green fire. Leaves Relicdramon incapable of flying for a post afterwards, both his jets and wings singed.)

Scout is left completely immobile, eye-slots dimming along with the jewels on his wings as his body desperately tries to regenerate enough energy to get moving again. In the mean time, he's vulnerable to attack. Not good. He's pretty sure Maia's got this, but he's a little concerned about Samudramon and the other kid. Not to mention the kid's brother. This whole thing had turned into a giant mess. How were they g--
Hey, wait, what's that? Look! There's a giant 'V' over there! That's cool.
'V' for Valley Girls.
Not that Samudramon's doing much better than Scout. His energy reserves have been seriously depleted by the extended battle and the unexpected digivolution to Mega. Part of him isn't too surprised to see that the two humans managed to enter some other stage of evolution. He's glad they did though. He can't keep fighting like this all day, and their new form looks powerful.
Not to mention the Samudramon-style plating on it.
Clearly they were fans.
"We need to hurry, this is taking far too long,"
No duh.
Despite his statement, he can sense this thing is coming to a head. A few minutes, maybe, and it'll all be over, for better or for worse. Wait, no. Stop being so defeatist. Redo: A few minutes, maybe, and it'll all be over, they'll have won and they can go home and rest.
'Winning' might be an exaggeration though. Sure, he doesn't know as much about humans as he does Digimon, but he's learned a lot by watching Scout over the last year or two. Notably how the stress of rampaging as SkullGreymon had pushed him into a deep depression for months. The two human boys had been pushed to their limits and possibly beyond during this. How were they going to fare after it was all said and done? Worth keeping an eye on them, that's for sure.
Scout needed to be watched closely, too. He'd flipped into SkullGreymon willingly in an effort to withstand attacks better. Not a terrible idea, since SkullGreymon's all rage and anger, and probably doesn't even feel pain. On the other hand, given the trauma that's associated with it... Yeah. Maybe keep an eye on him.
From what little he'd seen of the other human, the girl, and her Kudamon, they'd be fine. Annoyed and stressed, maybe, but the Kudamon seems too zany to be affected by much, and the girl seems like the most level-headed one here.

Oh! Hey! Things worked! Scout and Kuu made a pretty good team! Or, uh, something like that. Maybe team wouldn't be the best term, considering Kuu never put enough thought into anything to understand what 'teamwork' even meant! With a happy, "squee!" the fox-woman bounced, despite being in the air, and hugged his tamer close. "We're doing good!"
"You're crushing me."
With a slight grimace, Sakuyamon shuffled his tamer so he wouldn't risk breaking her bones. At least they wouldn't really be broken, considering this was a dream and all. But what did broken bones equate to in a mental form? Probably a massive headache. Not that Maia wasn't already used to headaches, with a partner like Kuu!
"And you should probably pay attention to your surroundings."
"I am, Maia!" The fox scoffed, turning toward the 'newcomer.' Ebemon really wasn't new at all to the scene, but as far as Kuu was concerned, they hadn't known he was there! So he was new! Of course, this was well-timed with the attack that was clearly targeting the most squishy member of the party! Not that the outcome would have altered much, if it were targeting him or his tamer, considering their close proximity with one another.
With a twitch of Sakuyamon's free hand, a card flickered outward, with the announcement of, "Fox Card!" Wasn't it funny that most Digimon audibly informed one another of their moves names? It made it kind of hard for sneak attacks, sometimes! Fast, indeed, though. The card had barely made it inches from its user's fingertips before glowing from impact with the Planet Destroyer, as it worked to deflect the move.
Not used to this sort of close call, Maia let out a small squeak, cringing against her Digimon's armor. Okay, terrifying. Yep. This mission was a nightmare! Maybe, even worse than one! How did Spirit Users cope with this kind of stuff on a daily basis?
Speaking of Spirit Users, that V in the sky looked kind of promising! Or, uh, really bad. In a place like this, it was hard to tell!

D-Evidramon
Elliot and Isaac were incredibly lucky to have such a fire-based attack: merely trying to force their way through the bubble would have resulted in the corrosive substance collapsing against them, eating away at their weapons and armor until they were nothing more than scrap data. But, as emerald fire pulsed out in that limited space, the Relicdramon would feel the fire fill up the space, briefly singing their own bodies before the bubble would give, and evaporate away into trash data.
And this left the new fusion visible, in its brilliant and battered glory. Ordinarily, the D-Reaper would be programmed to respond to such a threat, but Maia and Scout's efforts had left the conglomerate a little more than frazzled: even its smaller agents, flying overhead, kept their focus inward towards the kernel, the newfound Sakuyamon (hey, Relicdramon, Kuu evolved too!), and Scout, leaving Samudramon and Relicdramon quite a bit of breathing room, something of a blessing and a curse.
For one, at least for the moment, neither of them were being actively hunted by the D-Reaper.
But on the other hand? They were quite a fair distance away to be able to help Scout or Maia!
Kernel
... Well, if they needed help!
So far, the impromptu combination of Kuu and Scout had been enough to work through the D-Reaper's defenses, one with the sheer power to break the shields, and the other with enough trickery to work against the kernel's own power. Ebemon had picked up enough of the pattern, though: if he managed to get over either of them, the other could simply be picked off through sheer attrition. This was why such a decisive attack was launched towards the creature Ebemon perceived to have weaker defenses!
But, perhaps his perception was off: as the laser tore out, mere feet from piercing through both of them, Kuu's shield cleanly landed in the beam's path. "Tch! Why you-"
The echoing boom of the reflected laser against the kernel silenced that notion, a wide flash of light pulsing outward, enveloping the mega and the 'egg' entirely. The kernel visibly broke apart, and as it did, the agents of the D-Reaper fluttered, and started cratering down into the crimson mass below. Smoke rose from the former kernel...
... And throughout the area, for both groups, wide, black tears would begin to open in the sky, the ground beginning to shake, wide crevasses opening up. You've done it! The Datamon's voice called out. The space is collapsing, without the strength of that mind... all you need to do now is-
"Graugh!"
From the smoke, below, standing on the D-Reaper's remaining field, the Ebemon managed to drag itself back upright. Its head casing was cracked, and several wires sparking with damage, but its primary cannon was still functional. Here, in this landscape, the android aimed its weapon skyward, and fired up, towards one of those dimensional tears!
Its... its trying to destroy the whole place! Just release, this place will collapse on its own!

The fire and flames had enveloped Relicdramon so thoroughly that it had no clue as to the success of its endeavor. Its good hand remained hovering over its helix blade, and it peered around with narrowed eyes as it tried to track the D-Reaper's movements. It was only when the flame started to subside that Relicdramon could see clearly, tongues of furious green giving way to the same stormy skies that had marked their entry to the D-Reaper's domain. The gooey red shell that had previously coated their shield was gone, ruined data wafting into the air like tongues of smoke the only sign of its departure. Slowly, Relicdramon relaxed its stance. Its sword arm lowered and its wing beats slowed, the fusion seemingly paralyzed by indecision now that its purpose had passed.
Then it started to laugh.
As it laughed it looked at down its hands in confusion. Which brother had started laughing first? Judging by Relicdramon's reaction, it didn't even seem to know. Nevertheless, the laugh only built up in intensity as it continued. While at first it was little more than an unsure chuckle, soon Relicdramon was practically doubled over from how hard it was laughing. Tears stained the rim of its helmet's eye-holes, and it had gently laid the hand of its good arm over its nonfunctional one. Despite everything, they were alive. They were here. They were safe.
With a hefty clunk, phosphorous-tinged smoke rose from the jump jets that were receding into Relicdramon's back. They were falling.
In a panic, Relicdramon thrust its wings out, only to let out a muffled curse as it noticed how torn and tattered they were. While they were still capable of getting some lift, it was far from enough to properly carry Relicdramon through the air. Instead of a glide, the fusion was now limited to a mere controlled far. In an almost childish fashion it kicked its legs and arms, as if trying to tear through the sky like a swimmer. It had come too far to die now.
Thankfully, Relicdramon had it better than some. D-Reaper agents, once circling overhead like buzzards, were now plummeting to the ocean of sludge in a freefall. At the rate Relicdramon was falling, it would have more time than them before gravity decided to have a frustrated word. However, this relief gave way to a question. Namely, why was the Reaper falling to pieces in the first place?
The smoke rising in the distance made it clear. Relicdramon turned its body slightly, guiding its controlled fall more in the direction of the smoke. As the smoke dispersed and Relicdramon got closer, it could see that the D-Reaper's kernel had fallen into a complete state of disrepair. The monstrosity's heart had been torn out, and with it gone its infinite hands were left without direction. Immense relief and immense concern washed over Relicdramon in equal part. One half of its gestalt brain saw the prison that had housed it for an unfathomable amount of time completely destroyed. The other half of its gestalt brain now realized just what exactly it had been through.
It was only when an all-too-familiar figure in the kernel's center stirred that the relief had passed entirely. While the D-Reaper's heart had been shattered, its brain still hung on by a thread.
Isaac remembered the torments that Ebemon had put him through inside of that kernel. He remembered the cold, clinical dissection of countless Digimon beings, immortalized on screen for its "studies." He remembered the strange injection he had implanted within him, screwing up his code and his vision while cutting him completely off from Datamon's intel. He remembered the fact that, just for the sake of its ego and curiosity, it let itself be complicit in everything the D-Reaper had done. Worst of all he remembered the creation of D-Evidramon, the exact moment at which his confidence in making out of this day alive had shattered.
Elliot remembered the horrifying way the Bubbles' grey flesh bubbled and decayed into red goo, then data, as he lit it ablaze in desperation. He remembered the Paratice Head, staggering around and clutching its throat as if suffocating to death once its cords had been severed. He remembered the horrid physical pain that he had been put through and the horrid physical pain that he was forced to put the Reaper through. He remembered the way the Pendulum Hands snatched his brother away, and the way D-Evidramon swallowed him hole. He couldn't even pinpoint the moment at which today had ruined his innocence. It had slowly been assaulted throughout the day, only a hollow shell left.
In Elliot, Isaac had regained his hopes. In Isaac, Elliot had regained his strength. Now, reminded of what they had lost, their newfound completion let their rage burn twice as hotly. Relicdramon flapped its tattered wings, hastening its fall yet also its approach, as it tried its damndest to get in rage of Ebemon.
As Ebemon let out one last groan, Relicdramon sheathed its blade and clenched its fist.
"Final . . ."
As Ebemon thrust a hand to the sky, Relicdramon drew its hand back. A small, green flame seemed to wreath around its fingers.
"Spirit . . ."
As Ebemon fired a blast at the rifts above, Relicdramon thrust its fist furiously in the alien's direction.
"Cannon!"
All of Relicdramon's rage, all of Relicdramon's hatred, and all of Relicdramon's fighting spirit poured into this last punch. The green flame intensified and flickered furiously, forming the shape of a long, coiled dragon. With the force of its punch Relicdramon launched it right at Ebemon, jaws stretching open as if aiming to swallow the cyborg whole.
With that parting shot made, Relicdramon was satisfied. It glowed a dull white, slowly separating into the Dynasmon and Samudramon that were its components. Any attempts at staying airborne were forsaken, the two glowing shapes plummeting as their heavy eyelids closed. Minds finally untangled, both brothers sent the same thought Datamon's way.
It was time to let go. (Relicdramon used Final Spirit Cannon: Relicdramon calls forth a draconic aura made of atmospheric energy. It takes up all of his remaining fighting energy, but overwhelms the enemy with a furious bite. Cooldown: Once Per Fight. Relicdramon has split, degenerated, and jacked out.)

Scout takes a deep breath as he watches things start to fall apart around them. Finally. It felt like he'd been in here for months. Years. He was ready to leave this behind and get back to his life, at last. He degenerates back into BigAgumon before flickering with static and disappearing, jacking out and heading back to the real world.
Uh.
Real-Digital World. ...Whatever.
B does much the same. Not that he has much choice. As soon as Scout degenerates from ShineGreymon, the bond between them dims and Samudramon automatically changes backc into his rookie form. Grunting as he plummets towards the ground, he briefly wonders when he became so jaded that falling towards inevitable death was little more than an inconvenience.
And then he disappears too.

Wow. That worked way better than Kuu had thought it would! Digimon and tamer remained still, while processing what had just happened. "Did we just win?" It certainly looked like it!
And, if there was any question about it, the attack from Elliot and Isaac finalized that thought.
Cringing further against her Digimon, Maia took a deep breath. Too much stress! Too many sounds! But, wait. Did that mean that Isaac was safe? Or, alive at least? "It looks like it," she finally answered, watching as two digimon fell from what was once Relicmon, and they disappeared. Soon, Scout and his mercenary followed, leaving the duo as the only two from the mission remaining within this world.
"I feel like this took a year," the Sakuyamon chirped, watching the scenery fall apart around them.
Shifting in the Mega's arms, Maia didn't seem to reciprocate the interest in passing of time. "I feel like I want to throw up. I hate flying." And extreme heat. And almost dying repeatedly. And having her boyfriend kidnapped. And...
Okay, this list would take a year, if she was given the chance to write it down! "At least nobody died!" Way to look on the bright side of life, Kuu!
Speaking of bright, a light wrapped around the Digimon, dispersing only as Maia began to fall. Arms reached out, pulling the now-Kudamon close to her chest. Flying wasn't quite as terrifying as falling was. But if it meant that they were going to finally leave this nightmare, the tamer would gladly deal with it.
Finally, the two of them vanished like everyone else had.

Unfortunately for Relicdramon, the results of his attack wouldn't appear before his very eyes, nor would it for the rest of the group: as they all focused, and thought with intent to leave this mental space, they would, very simply, vanish on the spot.
And for as smooth as the entrance to this mental space was, the forced exit was far less kind: to each and every one of them, it would feel like a strong jolt down the back of the neck, 'shocking' them awake on the floor of the boat. In anticipation, the Wizardramon gave the group some space, refreshing a barrier that he had constructed around the vessel.
"Oi!" The Datamon called over to the sorcerer, as the machine himself logged out - though in his case, it was just a matter of withdrawing his wires from their respective Digivices. "The crazy kids managed to pull it off... though, expect a bit of chop!"
"Oh, I know." This wasn't like the last time this happened, where the central participant of the mental space was quelled: beneath the boat, the ocean gave a desperate groan, rumbling across the vessel. Neither the Wizardramon nor the Datamon seemed especially alarmed, and slowly, the rumbling came to an end, trash data floating upwards in a red maelstrom. As the sorcerer raised his staff, the lot of it quickly magnetized into a blue color.
"Modify! Wisemon's Blessing!"
A white card appeared before the wizard, the staff quickly taking the shape of the sorcerer's book: the pages flipped open, and the entire amalgamate of data came rushing forth. As insane as it seemed, the scientist willfully absorbed the data into the tome. That entire mental space, the code of the D-Reaper, the remnants of the Ebemon, were soon bound in those pages... and with a snap of the hand and a leather strap put into place, it was simply held in the wizard's hand.
"Hmph. You sure that's a good idea?"
"I've had better, but I've certainly had worse." His musings were short, though, as he first stepped over to Maia, pulling a single card out of his pocket: Wings of Light.
"As with that Wisemon card, I had to destroy the one I borrowed from you to have it function like it did." That was the Wizardmon's first apology, and it wasn't even directly stated! "Curious, though... I never imagined that two separate disturbances in this place would be D-Reaper nests. I wonder if its at all consistent-"
"Ya'know, before the lot wants to knock your head around, Wizardmon, maybe you should shut your yap."
"Hmph." 'A job was tasked, and they finished it.' The thought crossed the mage's mind to say it, but he kept that much to himself. "Just handle the formalities, Datamon."
"Whatever." The machine Ultimate wheeled up to the group, starting to work off the tracking equipment, whatever the group hadn't already ripped off of themselves. "Digivices here, everyone."
And as they were offered, Datamon's cable would briefly link up to them: after a 'blink', the displayed account on their bits would jump upwards by a significant amount. "You're now free to leave your rookie forms, and we'll be back at shore in an hour's time."
