{No, this isn't in Shibuki Forest, but we're sadly lacking in other Human World boards.}
Three weeks before Takahiro obtains his Crest and Digimentals, and two weeks before Scout obtains Arresterdramon's Spirit.
“I h-hate camping. I d-don't know why I agreed t-to come out here with you,” Takahiro grumbles, looking over what should be a tent, in theory. At the moment it seems to be...debris. As it turns out, neither he nor his brother are particularly handy and putting things together. Well. Perhaps if this were a computer, Takahiro could muddle through, but he's certainly not equipped to deal with...this. “You didn't, you coerced me into coming out here. I hate camping too. As I remember, you said you picked up possible signs of a Digimon out here and asked me to come with you so you didn't have to come alone. Pretty sure you could've asked a certain DATS agent to come with you,”
Takahiro shrugs, “Pretty s-sure you could stop talking l-long enough to help with the tent, too,” he replies. Scout chuckles, “Ooh. Little Hawk's got claws today, huh? Or...talons. Whatever birds have,” he looks over his shoulder, “B, do you know tents?” The BlackAgumon shrugs, having found a comfortable-enough seat on a nearby log. “You b-brought BlackAgumon w-with you?” Takahiro groans. What the heck. “You brought Petermon,”.
Takahrio grumbles again. Totally different. It takes him another hour to figure out how to get the tent set up, at which point he stows their backpacks and locks the zipper of the tent with a little combination lock, ignoring Scout's sounds of amusement. They are about five miles from the nearest person, maybe more...still. After that, the two set off into the darkening forest with Takahiro's eyes locked on his Digivice IC, keeping an eye out for Digimon signals. Maybe they should have set off sooner. It'll be hard to fight in the dark.
BlackAgumon and Petermon follow after the two, the former finding it somewhat odd to be walking around the human world so openly. Typically when he travelled in this reality, he was stored on a Digimemory, or kept in a smaller form in Scout's bag. It's not like he could pass for human like Petermon could. Not that he usually minded, but...sometimes he thinks it'd be nice to see this bizarre world a little more.
“...Hm,” Takahiro comes to a stop, thanking Yggdrasil that DATS had the forethought to give the Digivice a screen that illuminates. “Got something, Little Hawk?”. Takahiro gives a little shrug, “I dunno. S-signal's kinda weak. About t-two hundred meters north,” He points, before Scout can ask which direction that is, “c-can't tell you anything more than that, though,”. Scout nods, plucking his D-Scanner out of his pocket hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. It's unfortunate that the trees are so densely packed in this part of the forest. RizeGreymon doesn't stand a chance here, if he's needed. And the space limitations mean BlackAgumon won't be able to Digivolve either. Scout is feeling less and less confident with every passing second...
A bestial roar fills the forest, moments before purple sickle-shaped blasts of energy tear through the darkened forest, hitting trees, rocks and the ground all around the group. “P-Petermon, M-1,” Takahiro commands, trying to keep his head down. Petermon tries to figure out where the energy blasts are coming from and then races off, moving so quickly that he would be almost invisible to most.
...Not whoever's shooting apparently, however. There's a strangled cry unlike any Petermon has made before as he's sent flying backwards into a tree, his chest smoking with definite signs of battle damage. Scout pounds his forehead a few times. He can't find a way to settle this peacefully, at least not with shots being fired. He needs to make sure Takahiro and Petermon are safe, anyway. “...Dammit,”.
His D-Scanner lights up as he thumbs a button on it, sliding the display of available Spirits across until he spots the one he wants, glistening golden and...stuff. “Chozetsu Digivolution!” Golden light springs up around his body, forming a blazing aura through which only his silhouette is visible. He grows upwards to almost seven feet. Golden armor presses itself into place around his body as long horns grow from his skull. Cute. “The Golden Hero! OmegaShoutmon, has arrived!” There's a deafening guitar screech as he finishes transforming and takes to the air.
Every purple crescent is reflected in his metallic hide as he moves quickly through the air, readying an attack as he makes out the silhouette of a human-ish sized Digimon. “Hard Rock Damashii!” A fireball is launched from each hand towards the figure who...just sort of steps to the side. So Scout fires again. The figure dodges. This keeps up for a while, with explosions detonating around both parties as a result.
Finally, Scout scores a direct hit and...stares as he realizes that the Digimon is completely unharmed and...actually seems to be laughing at him. His hesitation costs him dearly as a number of pulses slam into his chest and sending him crashing into the ground near Takahiro. “Ow,”. Is that smoke rising from his chest? ...Yup. Great.
“A-Aegiochusmon Dark,” Takahiro reports, reading the analyzer on his Digivice, “Ultimate level, w-watch out for his Da—oh, I guess it's too late to w-watch out for it,” he sighs. Petermon gets back to his feet and makes another run at Aegiochusmon, only to be knocked down again. He doesn't manage to get back up this time, drawing a concerned cry from Takahiro. BlackAgumon chips in, running around the area and blasting away with purple 'Pepper Breath' attacks, each fireball finding its mark and doing...absolutely nothing.
Well, damn.
Scout struggles to sit upright and checks his chest. The golden armor is scorched black, and cracks seem to developing. He stares at it. The cracks are over where his heart is, normally. ...So what's going to happen when he changes back?
“Taka, if you have an idea, I'm all ears,”
Takahiro thinks hard. What...could they do here? Okay, okay. Right. Scout had told him about the RizeGreymon adventure. Calumon and MailBirdramon had given their power to BlackAgumon and Scout to power them up even further. It had cost the two their lives, but maybe there's a way to regulate that. He puts his Digivice IC away and yanks out his old D3, looking it over. What's that symbol? Like a double helix? It wasn't there the last time he'd checked...
Screw it.
He simply raises his Digivice and is...astounded when it becomes primarily black with electric green grips, like a reversed version of Scout's D-Scanner. “...Y-yeah! Petermon. I need you to g-give your power to Scout!” Petermon raises his head, giving the smallest of nods. Both he and OmegaShoutmon begin to shine as the pair drift to their feet, and then lift into the air, side-by-side.
“...Petermon!” A momentary pause, as Petermon's form loses definition, becoming a glowing white humanoid figure. “OmegaShoutmon!” Another pause as the same thing happens to OmegaShoutmon, “DNA Digivolve to...” Both forms simply...slide together, starting to fuse into a new body. Seven feet tall, humanoid, clad in golden armor and with a long blue cape. A thin sword forms in each hand as the light dies. “Grademon!”
The voice it speaks with sounds like both Scout's and Petermon's. So they've fused. Takahiro nods, slowly. But is it permanent? He hopes not, for all their sakes. Still, he's impressed. His Digivice informs him that Grademon is an Ultimate level Digimon as well. Good. They stand a chance now.
“Grade Slash!” Grademon moves with even greater speed than Petermon, a flickering blur of gold dancing around Aegiochusmon, delivering blow after blow in the blink of an eye with those razor-sharp swords. Aegiochusmon staggers under the repeated attacks, but quickly returns fire with his energy blasts. Grademon dodges the first dozen or two, before finally a few hits land. Still. Those aren't enough to slow Grademon down.
“Victorize Breaker!” Grademon slashes the air with both swords, leaving a flaming red 'V' shape in the air. It spins around before crashing through the undergrowth and sending Aegiochusmon flying. Unfortunately Grademon's elation doesn't last long, as an obsidian energy beam slams into his back with enough force to propel him through a half dozen trees. Oof.
“D-DarkSuperStarmon!” Taka's voice calls, “Ultimate level,” Of course it is. There it is. He spots it as he staggers to his feet. Another pitch-black Digimon, in a forest, at night. Good, good. Ow! Aegiochusmon has resumed firing. And now they're both hitting him. What the hell.
“This...isn't exactly s-sporting,” Grademon grunts. Oh come on. A brand new form invalidated so quickly? ...Is that...still there? Yup. Calumon's power. And the bond between Petermon and Takahiro. The bond between Takahiro and Scout. It's all there. Screw it, they can do this.
“Grademon Mega Digivolve to...” Grademon's form changes again, reverting to a form far more reminiscent of OmegaShoutmon's. A little bulkier, perhaps. A large twin-bladed sword appears in his right hand, as his left hand transforms into a large triple-bladed claw. A tail tipped with a cannon extends from his back, as stabilizer wings materialize above them. “OmegaShoutmon...DX!” His voice is sound enough to sway the branches of the trees, as is the screeching guitar solo that follows. Music begins to play from all around, little more than a heavy bassline, but it's easy to tell who it's coming from.
Takahiro's digivice has no idea what to make of OmegaShoutmon DX, other than the fact it's a Mega level Digimon, far more powerful than Scout or Takahiro can become by themselves. The fused Digimon's golden armor seems to shine with a bizarre radiance, casting light on the surrounding area which...certainly helps. The combined attacks of Aegiochusmon Dark and DarkSuperStarmon seem to...just dissipate against the Digimon's hide.
“Electric Buster!” The twin blades of his sword light up with a powerful electrical charge as he shoots forward. The blades slice right into DarkSuperStarmon, cutting him to ribbons. Wow. He's...OmegaShoutmon DX is...powerful. No doubt. DarkSuperStarmon flies apart, reverting to a silvery Digiegg on the floor.
Aegiochusmon intensifies his attack, and OmegaShoutmon senses that it's time to end this quickly. They've already wasted enough time here. “Brave Beat Rock Extreme Damashii!” The guitar screeches return, reaching deafening levels again as his body lights up with golden energy. A mighty effigy of AncientGreymon forms from the aura, and shoots forwards with incredible speed, taking apart their second opponent in the blink of an eye.
“Wow. That's...I d-don't...I didn't know we could b-become so powerful together,” Takahiro comments idly, as OmegaShoutmon DX slowly comes down from his high. There's a momentary pause, and then the fusion form separates back into its component parts, Petermon and Scout in human form. Takahiro picks up the Digitama of both defeated Digimon. “Of course we can, Little Hawk! Power of Heart! All that good stuff!” Scout teases gently, “I'unno. Bonds of friendship and stuff. I'd make fun of it, but it...well, it worked didn't it?” he shrugs, “although I can't...” He yawns, “remember being so tired before. Oh my god, time for bed, if you're done,”
Takahiro nods, “Come on. These Digitama should b-be stable until we can g-get them back tomorrow,” Petermon returns to float by his Tamer's side, in-tact and ready to move on but...exhausted. "D-does today feel weird to you?"
"Like our entire adventure was rushed or something? Yeah, kinda."
"Alright,"
With that, the three turn and start heading back the way they came, ready to try and forget the night's ridiculous shenanigans in a glorious haze of sleep, sleep and more sleep.
Three weeks before Takahiro obtains his Crest and Digimentals, and two weeks before Scout obtains Arresterdramon's Spirit.
