Shi stood cold winds blasting against his face, he felt none of this as he watched War, such a strong Digimon, such a strong Mega. Yuudai and Yasuo the best mix of a fighter and a strategist was now on the ground eyes shut on the snowy ground. Shi walked closer not paying attention to the large black and gold knight that turned away from them, why wasn't he finishing the teen off? Pity maybe, maybe he was bored. For whatever reason that felt much sharper then the blades that ran through War before. Shi bent down at the large metal Digimon for a moment. "War, come on. Please get up." Shi said staring at the Digimon. Slowly the mega reverted back, it degenerated back to their Koromon forms knocked out, they held their eyes shut even Yuudai who was known for his pain tolerance, who knows what Yasuo was going through.
Shi should of know, he should of known something like this would of happened, could he of done something? Could he of affected what happened? Probably not, who was he but a human among monsters. Shi did nothing but sit on his knees staring at the Koromon the cold not even bothering him, nothing bothered him more then his own uselessness.

It was way too cold here. Taking a random Trailmon and going to whatever destination it stopped at usually ended up fine, but today it ended up with them being dropped off in the middle of the frozen tundra. They hadn't even remembered to bring jackets, either! Naturally, in their quest to beat the cold, they decided to shift into some of their more fire-equipped Digimon forms. Elliot Digivolved up to a Strikedramon, using a pillar of flame from his tail, while Isaac shifted into Impmon and kept an Imp-losion fireball cupped in the palm of his hand. It was still cold as hell, but at least the fire would help them persevere through the day. It also helped shine a light, which made tromping through the vicious snowstorms far less of a blind guessing game.
As Elliot guided his tail around he noticed a figure hunched over in the snow. He was on his knees and looked absolutely motionless? Was he going to freeze to death? Immediately the concerned Elliot began running off, Isaac snapping his fingers and taking to the air in order to avoid being left behind. When one brother was Rookie and the other was Champion, differing stride lengths became a big problem!
As Elliot got closer to the figure, his jaw nearly it the floor. That was Shi, someone so strong and determined, sitting in the snow as if his hopes had all been rounded up and slaughtered. "Shi?" Elliot asked, voice small. "Shi! Shi! It's me, Elliot! What happened?"
"Are Yasuo and Yuudai okay?" Isaac asked. He took off his Impmon bandana and wrapped it around one Koromon, then took his human bandana from his Digivice and wrapped it around the other. It wasn't much, but it was the least he could do to stop the poor things from freezing to death out here.

Were Shi in a better mood he most likely would of noticed someone else, not now, not when he got his friends almost killed and he couldn't do anything to stop it. Though these were apparently people Shi knew, he glanced up seeing one introduce himself as Elliot, the other Shi assumed to be Issac wrapped the Koromon in a bandana. Shi however stopped Issac from doing that, it wouldn't do much in this cold. Shi picked up his empty pack from the snowy ground and took off one of his jackets leaving him with his normal plaid one and a undershirt, but he didn't care that much about his safety right now, they just almost died he was fine with being a bit colder so long as they were alright. Shi wrapped the two in the heavy jacket and put them in his pack. "What happened is what you saw, I lost a fight." Shi looked down as Issac asked if the twins would be alright. "I don't know, they've taken damage before but never severe enough that they revert back to in-training." Shi answered, but that's all he had was his answer, he didn't even know if it was true.
Shi let out a sigh before standing up staring in the direction the knight left, Shi looked calm, his eyes were closed and his hands in his pockets, however this was a front for the swell of anger for that Digimon who attacked him burning inside, the only thing that betrayed this calm stated was a balled up fist he had placed in his pocket, not anger for losing, not anger for what happened but anger for how badly the two his considered brothers to get hurt. "What are you two doing here anyway?" Shi asked, it was like a snap at them but also asked with a certain calmness to show he wasn't about to go ballistic on them for his own failures.

There was a Digimon so dangerous and deadly in a fight that it even brought Shi to his knees. Elliot shuddered to imagine just what kind of monstrosity must have attacked. Elliot had never seen a fight go that badly. No matter how often Kuu, or Alicia, or even they lost battles, they never ended up degenerating afterward. Especially not to that extent! "It isn't still here, is it?" Elliot asked, worry fully permeating his voice. They had to get the twins and get out. Even with the fancy new spirits he and Isaac had gotten, there was no way they could take a beast powerful enough to hurt Shi and the twins like that. It was hopeless, and the sooner they could bring Shi and his team to safety the better.
Shi's snapping answer surprised Elliot, and he quieted up out of sheer reflex. Isaac felt the instinctual urge to snap back, the same he always felt when an older man yelled at him, but he bit his tongue and decided to shut his mouth. Shi didn't need that crap right now. He needed a listening ear, or maybe a way to escape. "We just took the Trailmon like we always do. Figure the best way to check out the Digital World is to hop aboard and see where it takes us," he explained. "What about you? What are you doing all the way here?"

Shi noticed Elliot quiet up as soon as he said something, Shi cast his glance downward. "Sorry, you don't need that kinda of thing from me right now." Shi said letting his anger fade as quickly as it came, being mad wouldn't solve anything right now. "It's still here yes though it's not native to this area, it was a large gold and black knight." Shi told them, best at least tell them what it looked like so they don't engage it like he did, Shi however had no choice in the matter. "I heard there was someone out here attacking travelers, he never killed them however I still can't let him attack random people so I came to try and stop him, and you can see how that turned out." Shi added with a sigh, he failed it wasn't even a close match Shi was out powered easily.
Shi felt something shaking in his pack, Shi looked down to see only Yuudai awake gritting his teeth eyes shooting daggers, it was easy to tell he was forcing himself awake. "Co--om o o on Yuuuu-dai. Keep it together." Yuudai said forcing whatever pain he felt down, he had a high pain tolerance this Shi knew but to be able to force through it after waking up was a feat all in its own. "We can't just let him keep going, come on I can take him this time!" Yuudai shouted as loud as he could, which wasn't much considering he was still wounded. "Yuudai." Shi said only, he was worried about losing them both but Yuudai seemed furious, not at the fact that he lost but at the sheer fact that he lost so easily. He wasn't about to let that stand.

"Do you think we can reason with it?" Elliot mumbled, more thinking out loud than anything. These circumstances were all incredibly suspect. The knight came out of nowhere, wasn't from around here, never killed, and seemed to be beating up whatever random strangers crossed its paths? It couldn't be doing this for just no reason. Nothing would test its abilities on random lost strangers while also lacking the malice to kill them, right? Maybe there was something it was protecting. Maybe there was something it was trying to protect everybody else from. Maybe it was just investigating strange incidents, just like Shi was investigating the strange incident caused by the knight in the first place. Regardless, Elliot had been trying hard to put two and two together lately, and this case was flagrant enough to catch even his notice. "It can't just be doing this for no reason, right?"
Isaac sighed as he looked at the shouting Koromon. "Not like that you can't," Isaac warned. "If you push yourself too hard so soon after an injury, you're gonna end up way worse off than a Koromon." However, he didn't want to be too dismissive of the little creature's concerns. Going from a Mega on top of the world to a battered and bruised baby must have been really painful, both bodily and to his pride. "If you promise not to run off and do anything stupid and dangerous, I can promise Elliot and I will give you backup next time this knight comes along. Maybe we will talk it down somehow. Maybe it will come down to another brawl. But you guys are not going to have to deal with it alone, okay?"

Shi tried to think about what could be happening, it was true the knight didn't kill but it wasn't the same area, maybe it was looking for something but still that gave him no excuse to attack random people, maybe he didn't know what he was looking for though and when he knew it wasn't his target he left? That made some sense in the teens head. "He blindsided us out of nowhere during a heavy wind, it was hard to see in the snow. Maybe he's been mistaking people for something else but due to the snow he can't fully see?" Shi said offering his own insight. "Wish I got more out of that encounter, all that happened was we fought, lost and he left without a word."
Yuudai just looked away from Issac, he had to admit he was right but it was more then that, his pride body and brother were beaten and unlike him Yasuo had no pain tolerance so he couldn't just push past it like him, that stung the worse of all that he failed at stopping his brother from getting hurt. "Fine I won't do anything stupid." Yuudai said with a sigh.

"How did he fight?" Isaac asked, hoping to get information from what little Shi did get out of the encounter. After all, especially for something as bombastic and flashy as a Mega-level Digimon, there had to be some indication as to fighting style, right? If diplomacy was on the table, then knowing how to avoid the blindsided Digimon's misguided swings would be essential for getting a word in edgewise. If it came down to a war, then they had better at least be able to come up with a sufficiently good strategy. Isaac was never really the biggest fan of planning too hard in advance, preferring to think on the fly and come up with plans as they were needed, but to go into this completely unprepared would be idiocy.
"We need to find you guys a place to go," Elliot added, matter-of-factly. The colder and darker it got, the more dangerous it did as well. Besides, what if the black knight did prove hostile and try to attack them out of malice? They'd get destroyed being so small, vulnerable, and alone! "Is there some kind of lodge here we could stop at? If we can rest up and get back to full strength, it'll make planning what to do next much easier. Besides, I don't know how much more we can handle this cold." He hadn't seen any on his travels, but this was also a far bigger tundra than he had explored. Perhaps somewhere, there would be shelter. Even if it was just a kind Digimon who helped the group out of the goodness of their heart, or the heaviness of their pockets.

Shi was hoping that wouldn't be a question. "That's the thing, the fighting style was weird, it used a combination of long range and short range, it could use an attack that could be used at either range also. But there was something else to it, when War got hit with an attack it, now I'm not a expert on every mega but it seemed to deal far more damage then it should of, I also noticed extra marks on their armor when they were fighting, like they got hit multiple times despite the knight only hitting them once." Shi said giving as much detail as he could, though he wasn't that sure luckily Yasuo had the details he needed to finish the thought. "When he attacked us one hit didn't feel like one, it felt like several despite that I could only see one of the attacks." Yasuo answered it was weird but that's how the Alphamon fought them, it didn't make sense but it happened.
"I think I saw a place a bit away from here, I didn't come the same way you guys did I flew up to the top of the mountain and headed down, sadly I found him here instead of there." Shi said, it was a wasted trip but he really thought the digimon would be higher up then that, at least he was told that. "Follow me." Shi said leading the way.

That was troubling. It seemed to be multiplying its strikes whenever it attacked? Isaac already knew just one hit from a Mega at his current level would be painful as hell. Having it happen several times in succession just because his guard was let down a single time? That would've been murderous. He shuddered slightly, more from the fear of Alphamon's retribution than from his natural reaction to the steadily cooling atmosphere. "Alright guys. Guess that gives us a plan of action. Never get hit. Especially us, Elliot," he said, knowing that him or Elliot could get shredded to ribbons if they weren't careful. Thankfully, snakes were very good at evasive maneuvers, even if they weren't good at other things like having limbs.
"Oh, thank goodness," Elliot said, trying to contain just how overjoyed he was with this discovery. He was afraid this was going to end really poorly for the group! Now they had a way out of here, and everything was going to be okay. He intensified the flame coming from his tail, making sure it was closer to Shi and the Koromon so that they would be kept warm. "You lead the way, I'll keep you all room," he said. It was probably pointing out the obvious, but hopefully reminding Shi that Elliot had his back would help calm him down a bit. He had a rough day, and deserved to know that people cared.

"If worse comes to pass WarGreymon has a shield, I think it'll be enough to defend you." Shi said, it was the best if they couldn't take a hit. "It should be someone around here." Shi said putting his hands in his pockets to keep them from freezing. Shi saw something in the distance, it looked like a really large house, it wasn't any material that Shi could recognize but it did look a bit familiar, it seemed to be like bricks, maybe digital world bricks? Or the cold was making it seem different. Shi walked over looking it over before the door opened revealing a Gatomon who opened the door with a doorknob near the bottom.
"More lost people, I swear living out here's annoying. Come on in I suppose." She said walking back into the house leaving the door open, she was strangely trusting and Shi looked back at Elliot and Issac if they did follow, he'd shrug and go inside, if the two kids weren't there he'd kinda panic and go looking.

Things seemed a little bit less hopeless than they did before. They had a plan for dealing with this situation. They had a strategy for the fight, just in case things went south. And now they had a home for the night, so at least Shi's poor, injured Digimon would be safe. Elliot turned to the Gatomon, smiling brightly. "Thank you very much for the help! Is there any way we can help out over here?" Elliot didn't want to be rude or ungrateful, after all! The Gatomon seemed a little frazzled and stressed, and if Elliot could help lighten up their burdens in any way he'd definitely try and help with it.
"So what do you think, Shi?" Isaac asked as they entered the room. "Any suggestions on how we should go about this?" He definitely didn't want to risk this, but at the same time he was just some stupid 15-year old in over his head. There was no way he'd be able to handle being the man with the plan here, so he might as well try and go over it with a total Digimon expert. Worst case scenario, he'd just be on hand with every weapon he had in his arsenal.

The Gatomon looked at the kid up and down before pointing to a broom. "If ya want to help you could sweep up around here, no idea how this place gets dirty but it does." She said before walking off. "Just don't break anything and I'll be happy." She said with a shrug before going into another room, she seemed a mix of nice and rude, still it was nicer then most Digimon who would you know kinda just ignore a human in danger.
Shi looked at Yuudai and Yasuo, Yasuo was still knocked out and Yuudai despite trying hard still had a lot of wounds, how he was still awake was beyond Shi. "Right now all we can do is wait for these two to recover, no offence but without them we don't stand a chance." Shi said before sitting down closing his eyes. "If he is looking for something else we shouldn't go when it's storming, who knows maybe that's the case. If it isn't well all we can do is fight him with everything we got and try not to get hit, crude but around here there's no place to trap him nor is there a way to sneak up on him. He was able to detect us three before we could in a storm so getting a preemptive strike is out of the picture." Shi admitted, this plan wasn't the best but it was all he could get. "I don't think he'd suspect us to figure out what Yuudai told us so we have that over him, if we have to fight that it." Shi said, truthfully he didn't want to fight but if it came down to it he would, he couldn't just let him keep attacking strangers.

Elliot nodded, pensively taking the broom and feeling its heft. It was way lighter in his Strikedramon form than it would've been as a human. Digimon forms could be so useful, sometimes! He walked off to start sweeping, surprisingly diligent for such a bulky, muscular form. Soon the room would be far less dusty and dirty, Elliot nursing a little pile of the stuff in one of the room's far corner. Later he'd be able to break out the dustpan and finally clear it out of there, but first he'd have to finish sweeping. As he worked on that, the older duo continued their planning in the war room.
"You are completely right," Isaac said. "We have got ice, ice, and more ice here. There is really no chance of us pulling off an ambush. It is going to come down to facing him head on and hoping conditions clear up." He tried to consider the way that they were going to put their plan into action. If it came down to a fight, approaching directly might get them killed, but at the same time it might have been their only option. Shi was right, there was no sneaking up on such a huge, overbearing Digimon. "What do you think we could even say to it? It sounds like it attacked first, asked questions never. Did it show any signs of hesitating, or did it just keep on fighting?" Maybe Isaac was hoping he'd be able to find some sort of triggering phase that would stop the Digimon in its tracks, at least long enough to make it listen.

The Gatomon watched Elliot clean with a smile, not many actually took her up on that offer. Shi took some time to think about this next part, he slowly recalled everything that happened in the battle before and after he was beaten and could only recall one time he stopped attacking. "Only time is when the storm stopped and he could get a better look at us, then he stopped and left. I was distracted by War to try and talk to him." Shi explained that was the only time but Shi recalled something else about this Digimon. "Actually now that I recall some more the people who were attacked in the area by him were Digimon that were Mega, maybe he's hunting them to get stronger." Shi said, maybe that was it, but what Mega could he be looking for?
"There is a way we can sneak attack him." Yuudai said, Shi looked back at the Koromon who closed his eyes and started explaining, gone was the childlike tone in his voice, he was in his element now. "We can make a way to hide, the snow is easy to manipulate and despite him sensing us before he wouldn't be on guard around now would he, he just won a fight there's no way he'd expect the same ones to fight again." Yuudai explained before giving a small sigh. "The only problem is we don't know where he'll be and if he stumbles on us when we're setting up that could be a problem." Shi closed his eyes and a idea came to him, but not before the Gatomon that lives here talked first. "That big ole knight right? Yeah he wanders around here everytime same day, always mumbling something to himself, something about a bastard I dunno I normally keep my door locked around him." She told them giving them a helpful hint.
