Name: Arai Ran 「荒井 乱」
Alias: Naarari
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Height: 175cm
Weight: 70kg
Alignment: Evil
Birth Date: 6th of June
Birth Place: Kagoshima
Western Horoscope: Gemini
Eastern Zodiac: Goat
Skills/Talents:
Dialect Linguist
Aside from his native Kagoshima-ben, Arai can change his inflection to assume various dialects such as Osaka-ben, Hokkaido-ben, Aomori-ben and so on to a convincing local level.
Survivalist
From his travelling experiences, Arai has adapted to a nomadic lifestyle, living on minimal expenses and traversing terrain of all sorts through all four seasons.
Rough Rider
Arai's spent more time on his bike than anywhere else- and in return a proportionate amount of skill with handling it has developed. Whilst already a good rider, whilst throttling the engine of his beloved machine in particular his dexterity takes him to top notch levels.
Personality:
Arai is friendly and happy-go-lucky, often with a debonair and devil-may-care flair- which would make him quite popular with the ladies if it wasn't matched with a cartoonishly comical clumsiness, and what seems to be an unending stream of bad luck, as if Someone Above had a bone to pick with him. His klutz and astonishing poor luck gets him down at times, but he always turns thing around with a laugh and gratuitously accepts being the butt monkey of the group. Overly romantic and sentimental, Arai seems to be living in a bubble illusion of a fantasy world too idealistic to be true. So immersed in it he is, that those that know him don't have the heart to break it to him that the world isn't that perfect, and even go to lengths to keep up the illusion for him. Overall, he's a rad guy to hang out with at parties, and a real great person to be pals with, if you're not opposed to regular episodes of calls of aid at the most unearthly hours when his bike breaks down in the middle of nowhere for the second time that month.
Donning his alter-ego of Naarari, however, Arai displays a very different personality. While still cavalier in the worst of situations, and very able to make light jokes at his own expense, Naarari behaves in a manner quite detached of moral grounds, the definitions between black and white murred and undefined. In every way a misguided idealist, Naarari imposes his own code of way upon others without care of retribution. His methods border on dogmatic extremism, often cruel. Putting his cunning to use, he is unafraid to make actions and have others take the fall for him. Perhaps the most fearful thing of all about him, is that he truly believes he's making the world a better place, and is dedicated to do so. A cold-hearted nihilist out to show his scorn for the world by making a mockery of its rules, Naarari nevertheless has his own set of principles that he does not bend, and will abide by the skin of his neck.
Appearance:
A shock of dark, matted black hair, worn long touching the tips of his shoulders, sometimes tied back in a ponytail. Arai has a fair complexion, and what he would prefer to call a 'rugged appearance' in an attempt to present himself as a macho type, but his natural affability and light-hearted joking manner throws that off and just makes him look kind of goofy instead. His eyes are dark as onyx, but with a twinkle of humor, and he has a smile like a warming hearth on a cold snowy night. Of medium bearing, Arai doesn't have a lot of heavy muscle on him; the heaviest weight he lifted in his life being his luggage. He doesn't hit the gym at all, though he does enjoy a leisurely jog, or swimming when the opportunity presents itself. Conventionally isn't picky about his choice of clothing, favouring anything comfortable and easy to move in. Most of the time he goes with a dull windbreaker or jacket over a simple shirt and jeans. Though legally a young adult of working age already, Arai likes to stay oblivious of that fact, and manages to pull that off convincingly with a winning boyish smile that takes years off his age. Goes around lugging a comically enormous duffel bag almost the same height as him whenever he can't leave it with his bike. A bead of lapiz lazuli embedded in silver hangs around his neck, and he wears copper and iron bands on all the fingers of his right hand, both a fashion statement as well as a good makeshift knuckleduster if needed.
Personal History:
Arai Ran was born as an average child to an average family of average background. He lived in a rural, backdrop village in Kagoshima, far away from the bustling urban hustle of big cities like Tokyo. It was a quiet, peaceful village; and he led an uneventful childhood. His parents worked menial jobs of sustenance, but were not unhappy- they were very willing to share what little they had with their neighbours, and in turn the neighbours were pleased to give their wares to them. It was all one small, close-knitted society, and everyone led their ordinary daily lives, dull but not unhappy, in that little town where nothing ever happened, save for the occasional stirring from the sub-active Sakurajima volcano overlooking them, coating the town with grey flakes of volcanic ash.
The town had been all Arai had known all his life, and he never knew to expect anything more, content to live his entire life without stepping out of town- that is, till a transfer student came to town, speaking all about the grand city life and its exotic sights, about towers that reached the sky, of a night as bright as day, of a city that snow doesn't come till Febuary and of a land filled with dreams.
The transfer student left not long after he arrived; but the chage he inspired in Arai was already irreparable. Determined not to be couped up in a dingy little town, Arai wanted to see more of the world for himself, to know what was waiting out there across the sea that seperated Kyushu from the mainland.
Scrapping together what little savings he had, Arai set off on a journey throughout the country after finishing high school, scouring the land to sate his newly-found thirst for adventure. He soon found he knew so little of the world, a frog in the well in his little homey village, and that the worlds- both of them- out there were vast and much wider than he had known.
His journeys had not been without trouble- expenses were a daily problem he had to struggle with, and many a night he went to sleep under the stars with an empty stomach. He soon grew to understand his naivety after running into a swindling scheme in town, only to join said swindling operation weeks later.
Grown disillusioned with the state of the world, yet still bearing a childlike ideal of an utopian world of fantasy, Arai set foot in Shibuya, adopting the alias he used in his not-so-legal activities, Naraari, with all intention of taking steps to change the world in his own image...
Backpack Contents:
Digivice:
A basic, retro , worn model of the Digivice. It's seen better times, and gone through quite some wear and tear. While originally silver, it's paint has peeled and grown faint to a dull grey.
Spirit Element: Fear
Appearance:
A small, critterlike Digimon covered in a red cape. It carries a sealed sword that it can't use, so it's about as threatening as a dormouse. Without any offensive power whatsoever, mostly Tsugirimon shies away from the public eye, using its small frame and its nimble feet to evade threats and dangers. Meant to be a protector of the treasured sword it carries, though it's not much of a protector of anything at all.
S-Hybrid Spirit: Tsugirimon
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: None
Type: Treasure Sword
Abilities:
Digivolves To: Kyomon
Appearance:
A humanoid digimon in black, chitin armor and bone like appendages. Its mask and skeletal structure serves to instill fear in his enemies. Barely recognisable from his previous evolution, the only traits it carries forward are its red cape, now draped over his neck, and his sword which can now be unsheathed and used in combat. Unlike its previous form it now has fully offensive abilities. Nonetheless, its forte is not in actual head-on combat, but in psychological play by manipulating the fear of its enemies.
