Teaching a Prodigy [Marshal/Kira]

After SkullMeramon's attack on Terminus City, things seemed to return to normal pretty quickly. Marshal, Coronamon, Kira, and Renamon went to grab some food and took a moment to recharge. Marshal had also stopped at Terminus Mall and bought a few things. Now, they found themselves in the colosseum, where Marshal had asked if they could use the arena floor for a brief sparring match between Coronamon and Renamon, so Marshal could show Kira the ropes of combat as a Tamer. The two Tamer pairs stood on opposite sides of the arena, ready to begin.
"Are you guys ready?" Marshal asked. "We'll limit ourselves to Rookie form for this fight, but if you suddenly Digivolve again as quickly as you have proven to in the past, we won't make any promises." He laughed a little bit at his joke.

Kira had no idea all the stuff she could buy at the mall, once she actually got some bits she would totally go back, that portal and infinite storage sounded like great thing, least that's what the store person told her before Renamon dragged her away, Renamon must didn't want Kira buying something stupid. Or talking to strangers. Renamon stood in front of Kira as the girl opened up her cloak showing her hands held on her digivice.
"You ready Renamon?" Kira asked, the Fox quickly nodded. "Yeah we're ready. And I can't promise we won't." Kira said. "None of you get hurt alright." She said to Renamon and Coronamon. Already worryed about Renamon and her opponent.

"Alright, you two," Marshal said. "Have at it!"
Coronamon wasted no time in beginning his attack. "Corona Flame!" He shot a ball of fire straight at Renamon, gauging how fast she could get out of the way of an attack.

No time to be wasted, she figured that's what would happen, while Kira was wondering what she was supposed to be doing Renamon already dashed to her side avoiding the fireball, she was instantly prepared to counter something if it came hoping he wasn't just firing randomly. "Diamond." She said dragging her hand in a line as she ran straight creating multiple sharp projectiles. "Storm." she ended as she clenched her hand sending all twenty towards Coronamon.
Kira just watched, she had no idea the limits Renamon had nor how much power she had, but she seemed able to fight without much input from Kira.

Renamon wasted no time in attacking Coronamon with her signature Diamond Storm, an attack she had used earlier in an attempt to distract SkullMeramon. This time, the attack would be more potent, since their levels were equal. Coronamon quickly recognized the threat and attempted to respond accordingly.
"Corona Cloak!" he called. Coronamon was enveloped in an aura of flames. He quickly charged in, no longer afraid of the Diamond Storm attack, which bounced off the Corona Cloak. Once the cloak disappeared, Coronamon was now in close range of Renamon, hoping to keep up the pressure.
Now that the battle was underway, Marshal walked around the two fighting Rookies and over to Kira. "Alright, so now I'm going to show you what you want to do in a battle as a Tamer."

Renamon simply smirked as Coronamon came in close range, because she knew close range was her speciality. "Wrong move."she simply said before clenching her fist and stomping her foot at both became engulfed in a blue energy increasing both her strength and speed. "Lets go." she said before rushing of throwing a lot of precise punches and kicks each one renforced with the blue power.
Kira looked up at Marshal before back at Renamon. "Are you sure I'm supposed to be doing anything? She seems to be doing fine on her own, and I don't know how to fight." Kira asked seeing as neither tamer gave a single command this whole time.

Renamon didn't seem to mind at all that Coronamon was coming in close. In fact, she seemed to like it more than fighting at a distance. That was just fine, since Coronamon liked both styles equally. Seeing Renamon coming in with her close combat attacks gave Coronamon the same idea. "Corona Knuckle!" he shouted. His hands and feet were wrapped in red flames and he began to match Renamon blow for blow. The two almost appeared to be dancing around the arena with speed and grace.
"So," Marshal said to Kira. "You may not have an active role in the fight itself, but it's important to know what you can do. Your main job is to stay out of the way to avoid being hurt, but it's also good to be nearby to give your Digimon some moral support. Besides, if you're not around, they can't Digivolve."

Renamon kept attacking throwing multiple attacks before throwing her weight down low to avoid one strike before raising her legs and spining around. "Spin kick." She said quickly as she spun around, if the first attack made contact she would continuously hit him into the air before spinning around and drop kicking him into the ground, if she missed she would just go with the attack and slide away.
Kira listened but looked down a bit. "Oh, alright then." Kira said before cupping her hands together. "Come on Renamon you got this!" she shouted at her partner, Renamon heard but didn't look

Before Coronamon knew what was going on, Renamon launched at him with a powerful spinning kick. Coronamon just barely threw up an arm to block the kick from doing serious damage, but still was knocked back and unable to counterattack. Coronamon might have had more experience, but Renamon was still much taller and had more natural speed.
Marshal watched Kira cheer her Digimon on and smiled. She would do just fine, and with a partner like Renamon, how could you go wrong? Turning his attention to the fight, Marshal noticed that Coronamon was actually struggling a bit. He wondered if he'd have to use the new Digivice he had bought, but he wasn't even sure what any of his cards did!

Renamon landed the attack and managed to create some distance, luckily her move was done cooling down. "Diamond storm." she shouted creating the same amount of sharp projectiles as before launching them all at once at Coronamon before retreating backwards to created more distance just in case he had something up his sleeve, cautious is best.
Kira kept cheering Renamon on before noticing Marshal. She then tapped on his shoulder. "Come on, so it with me." Kira asked cheerfully meaning for him to cheer on Coronamon. "Go Renamon!" Kira shouted throwing his fist into the air.

"Don't let your guard down, Coronamon!" Marshal said, jumping up and down. He had to set a good example for Kira, of course! And obviously, he wasn't about to be beaten out by a kid.
Coronamon skidded across the ground on his feet. He dropped his arm to see another Diamond Storm headed straight for him. Instinctually, he shot a Corona Flame at the projectiles that were heading in his direction. The one large fireball was able to take care of the Diamond Storm, which meant Coronamon was free to rush in once more.
"Corona Cloak!" he shouted again, charging full speed at Renamon while enveloped in flames again. With any luck, he would be able to force another close combat exchange and try to mix up his approach the second time around.

Renamon didn't like being in fire, she knew this well. She also knew that punching something while it was on fire wasn't the best thing she could be doing with her power, so instead she kept retreating going back to the edge of the wall before holding her position, she silently waited for Coronamon trying to buy sometime for his ability to cut out.
Kira noticed Marshal cheering but giving advice also, but was guard really the best idea for now? He didn't seem to follow it. Eh whatever. "You got this, don't let him beat you." Kira shouted again at her partner.

Coronamon had cornered her! Backed up against a wall, there would be no way for Renamon to avoid this next attack. "Corona Knuckle!" Coronamon threw a super-heated fist at incredible speed, finally deciding to turn up the heat, so to speak.
"Woo!" Marshal cheered. "Way to go, Coronamon!"

Renamon has planned to jump up but he came to fast and she got a flaming punch into her gut, the force drove her farther into the wall cracking it. She let out a grunt of pain as she slowly managed to get out pressing her legs against the wall and pushing away from it above the small Digimon. She landed a bit towards the middle panting, she kept up her moves but wasn't good at keeping her energy up.
"Renamon, don't let him beat you. I believe in you!" Kira shouted holding her digivice. Renamon looked back before nodding and getting back into a fighting position. They couldn't lose this fight. Kira sat there as her digivice began to glow. "Renamon, digivolve to." she said as he form quickly changed from a two legged Fox to a four legged with multiple tails all of them on fire. "Kyubimon!" she finished as her tail flames lighted up.

Marshal was absolutely stunned. There was no way this girl was for real! This Renamon had already hit Champion level on their first trip to the Digital World. He wasn't sure whether to be impressed or angry.
"Are you kidding me?" Coronamon shouted. All action in the fight had suddenly stopped. "You guys have been messing with us this whole time, haven't you? It took me months to hit Champion, and you're telling me you were able to do it during your second fight ever?"
Marshal shook his head in disbelief. "Kira, how did you do that? Even when I was in huge danger, it was really hard for Coronamon to Digivolve to Champion."
