"Why must you insist on going into dangerous places? M'lady." the yellow Fox and partner to the ten year old ask back against a almost destroyed wall facing the girl, she was away from most points of view talking to the ten year old more through the wall then anything else hidden in case one decided they also wished to explore a broken area for no good reason, least one didn't come to mind when this place was mentioned.
"Because, I want to explore the entire Shibuya, and you have to take the good with the bad." the short girl in the green cloak responded to the wall as the Fox behind it shook her head. This place was off limits yet Kira had asked Renamon to find out where to go to get in, which since it was a technical order she followed without and regards to what was going to happen.
"Fine, I'll still be here just in case something happens, keep hold to your digivice. I doubt you'll need it here though." the Fox finished before she stopped talking, activating a skill of hers she shifted and blended into the wall becoming invisible to the natural seeing human, dare she say it gifted with sight digimon. Kira knew after that the conversation was over and started walking over to the area, she didn't notice the other person who had the same idea as her though standing there.

Iona had the feeling she was being watched. She turned around, and saw a child. "Hello," she said in the language and mannerisms deemed appropriate by her new home, "--oh."
Her eyebrows raised. The child's features were not Japanese, but European. A sense of familiarity washed over her for the first time in months, at the sight of features which she recognized, though she did not know the girl to whom they belonged. She'd never seen her before in her life, but still...
"De yeh speak the Queen's English, wee lass?" she asked, returning to her native language in homes of finding someone, anyone to talk to...even if they were obviously still a bairn.

Kira finally managed to take notice of the elder nearby, this slow realization would of seemed embarassing had Kira not been quick to recover, or slow to act in the first place which ever fitted better. The small girl smiled a cheerful smile about to say the same hello in the mannerisms fitting where she was now, then the other person switched up to something familiar.
That's when Kira opened her eyes and noticed the other person, sure Kira had seen some people from other places but none had tried to talk to her in other languages though. So this felt good in a way, since Kira hadn't been here long. Maybe a sense of longing for her home, even though she didn't know the other person and the way and accent was different it was similar enough. And even though Kira didn't speak the queens english she still spoke the type she had been a few weeks ago.
"Well not the queens, but I do speak English." the girl responded in the language, if she recalled there was a difference. Kira was from America but learning she recalled that there was a difference between the words she learned and the British way. But would it be that different?

"Guid," Iona said, "Because Ah din't."
Hands upon her hips, she smirked. Most of her fellow Brits wouldn't exactly call her rough, accented, slang-laden manner of speaking "English" anyhow.
She stepped forward.
"Yer a Yank, Ah'll bet yeah?" she affirmed. An American was close enough, she guessed. Better than an Englishman, even if her experience with Americans mostly consisted of them being far too impressed and fascinated by her accent.
She lowered herself into a low squat so that she was on the younger girl's level. She wrapped her arms around her knees as she smiled at the girl.
"Sae what's a wee lass doing oot here, might I ask?" she said, "Ah donnae think mah Ma wouldda been happy to hear Ah was loitering aboot ffflipin' ground zero, right?"
She'd begun to say something else that started with "F" (instead of "flippin'") but caught herself. The wee bairns back in Glasgow might have heard it all before, but she needed to be more polite here. Americans still thought the "C" word was offensive, after all, whereas Iona's friends used it as a term of endearment. Her eyes flicked off to the side, apologetically.

Kira was quite interested in the way she spoke, it was simply interesting due to the fact it was something else she hadnt seen in her short lifetime. And new experences were always a good thing. "Yeah, I am." Kira said recalling that might of been another term for American. She wasn't sure so she either did good or made a idiot out of herself, either or she was fine since it was already established she didn't know much.
Despite the large difference between the dialect Kira was able to understand the idea of what she was saying, wasn't hard when she thought about it for a second. Though that last flipping did make Kira wonder why she sounded it out like that. "Oh, well I'm just exploring and I heard this was the entertainment district, though I didn't here it was destroyed like this." Kira answered, she recently discovered it looked like this and the good with the bad and all, still Kira slightly felt bad about the mention of a Ma, most likely hers had no idea what Kira was, and had been doing, this past week.

"Ah heard from mah Da, so Ah did," she said, "Ah also herd aboot yon school frae him wis burned down. If ma Da knew Ah wis here, Ah'd be dead Ah would."
Iona cocked her head to the side. She smiled in the way she reserved only for children. Few people older than twelve deserved one.
"My name's Iona," she said, "What's yours?"
Iona thought she saw something out of the corner of her eye. She looked over the younger girl's shoulder. She saw a man approaching--a short Japanese man wearing sunglasses (even though the sky was overcast). Surely he was just passing by, though. She looked back to the girl.
"Ah'll bet we look lit a right pair a eejits standing here next to a bloody ruin," she said.

Kira slowly wondered what she meant by that, if her father told her that this place was destroyed why did she come here in the first place? Oh maybe she was a explorer, Or a tamer. Though would not be wise to just assume this person knew about digimon simply because it was easy to assume so, at least for the ten year old.
Kira smiled back her normal large cheerful grin back at the elder. "My name is Kira, nice to meet you Iona." Kira noticed her eyes weren't on hers anymore and she was now looking over her shoulder, for no real reason she turn around a bit and saw what she was looking at, no cause for concern. Well maybe but Renamon was close by.
"Well. Better then looking like a lone idiot standing near a ruin." Kira said in a cheerful joking tone.

Iona laughed, peals of laughter cut through the air, grasped at the eardrums harshly. Loud, boisterous and as rough and as uneven as the the lowland hillside. Sharp, smoky and a little grating, but nonetheless possessed of a certain warmth, like a sparsely populated, but peculiarly dingy tavern thick with the smell of cigarette haze.
In fact, the smell was on her breath and it clung to her clothes. She did like her nicotine the old fashioned way, and illegal given her age. She smelled like that metaphorical tavern which characterized her voice and her laughter.
"That's right!" she affirmed. "Ah'm dead chuffed to meet ya, Kira."
Footsteps. Iona's smile melted, only to resolidify as a scowl.
"Excuse me, sir," she said, in Japanese, "It isn't nice to sneak up on people."
Iona was never good at the whole "respect" thing. That was as much deference for her elder as she could muster. As far as she was concerned, the balding, sunglasses-wearing man was a threat until proven otherwise.
The man surprised her by responding in English:
"Please forgive my rudeness," he said, "I was wondering what two young girls were doing near a condemned building."
Iona rose to her feet, warily. She stared at her small frame reflected in the black surface of his out-of-place sunglasses. She could tell she wasn't doing a great job of behaving as she was expected. It just wasn't in her programming, try hard as she might.
"Nothing, sir," she said, speaking English but dropping the heavy accent and slang. "We were just looking around. We're new to the city and we were curious."
She felt like a traitor whenever she adopted this 'proper' way of speaking. She reminded herself of the posh, upper-class types from Edinburgh (the ones that referred to their Neds by the loftier "Chav" moniker). Effing wide-Os.
"Yes," he said, "I suppose you would be. Strange things have happened here, after all."
The man produced from his suit pocket a silver cigarette lighter. From another pocket he retrieved a package of cigarettes. Iona stared at the package a moment before catching herself. She hadn't smoked in hours. It bothered her that she'd gotten addicted. She was sure she wouldn't. It was only recently that she noticed she'd get cravings after a while. It wasn't like that before. A year ago, she'd smoke with her friends, or she wouldn't. It didn't matter. It was social. Now her brain seemed to hone in on it as a strong, physical need. Her smoking had only increased when she was forcefully removed from her friends and social smoking partners and relocated in Japan, despite a stronger social incentive to quit.
The man flipped open the lighter head, placed a cigarette in his lips, and was about to light up when he noticed Iona's expression.
"Bad habit," he said, knowingly, "Apologies. I can spot a fellow addict. I'm observant in that way, but little girls should not smoke."
Iona remained silent. She wanted to demand he tell them just what he wanted from them, for it was clear to her that informing them that their location and her addiction were both dangerous was not it. She waited for him to speak, for it was clear by his poise--like a horse chomping at his bit for the gates to open at the start of the race--that he wanted to.
He responded to her silence by beginning to pace. As he did so, he flicked the silver lighter open and closed. Flick. Flick. Flick. Iona resisted the urge to cock an eyebrow at this, as was her usual reaction to such strangeness.
"No one knows what happened here," he said, unlit cigarette still balanced on his lips, "Not really. The reports are numerous and conflicting. Do you know what I think?"
Iona didn't answer. She didn't know, and wasn't certain whether or not the man was speaking rhetorically.
The man ceased to look in their direction. He began scanning the walls of the ruins--or at least that's what Iona thought he was doing. It was hard to tell given the sunglasses that masked his eyes. All the while, the man continued to flick, flick, flick that cigarette lighter. He would flick the lighter a few times, turn his head, then his body, and walk in a direction for a bit as he flicked the lighter some more. Then, he would stop and do it all over again. He did this about five times. It was beginning to drive Iona mad. She wanted to take that lighter and shove it down his throat.
"As I mentioned before," he said, "I am observant. I think something is being covered up. Not a gas leak or whatever the official reports say. Something happened here...something is being..." The man's head snapped to the left suddenly, and he stared at a ruin wall shadowed by a hanging roof. It was a very specific spot he continued to stare at. Iona thought he appeared like someone might if they saw an animal of some kind moving out of the corner of their eye.
"...hidden."

Kira smiled happy she made someone laugh, and the loud laugh made Kira laugh at her own small joke also, just a small child's laugh full of innocence unable to be taken one way or the other, just a cheerful tone she always carried with her as she laughed alongside a new friend she, the fourth she had met here, from zero to four in less then a week, that was something a bit funny. But Kira slightly smelled something, her nose picked up on a unfamiliar smell, she had never met anyone who smoked before so of course she wouldn't understand or know the smell.
Sadly Kira wasn't able to think on it long before she heard the same thing Iona did. She turned around as Iona said her thing to see the man. Kira listened to this entire thing only slightly worried, this was a stranger so of course she should be worried, that being said she trusted Iona pretty well but for now she had Renamon so Kira wasn't as worried as she would of been before having this partner around her. Kira nodded. "Yeah just looking around." she said with absolute truth in her voice. She had no reason to lie to anyone.
Kira looked at the man as he took out a cigarette. Was he really going to smoke in front of a ten year old. Then she heard what he had to say about Iona. But Kira didn't look at Iona, not like it was any of her business. Kira was smart enough to just pay attention to this man, why was he here? Couldn't be just to say stuff like that. Right?
Kira waited for him to explain but he didn't. It like he was dancing around that topic, but what she was saying was something that made her think a bit, in digimon and on this area. Was, was this caused by a digimon? Did he know and that's why he was talking to them? Calm down girl you just found out about them yourself, Kira stopped being paranoid for a bit. Though Kira seemed a bit unnerved by this man for a bit slightly fidgeting obviously a little bothered by what he was saying, it felt a bit annoying. "Why are you telling us this?" the ten year old asked for the both of them wanting to get to the point, why talk to two people, a child and a teen, about the destuction of a area.
Renamon just remained where she was easily hidden with her skill and the lighting around her, she hadn't been paying attention to the man himself but looking in the general area, since she was to far away she couldn't hear. All she knew was two people were around Kira, and that was two to many.

"Because someone has to know," said the man, still fumbling with his cigarette, "I'm not going to rest until I find out who it is. My name is Minoru Hashimoto. I'm a detective."
Iona scoffed. It was the way he said it: clearly, she was supposed to be impressed. She wasn't. Not with this balding man. Not with his nervous lighter-flicking. What the heck was his deal?
"You laugh now," said Hashimoto, "but I'll get to the bottom of this. I've got a very important client."
"And I should care...why?" said Iona.
"You are very rude," he said, "You speak our language, show ignorance of our customs. I know of your kind. How you escaped the Europe's bottom rung I'll never know, but you're here now. We're all here, and some of us are hiding something..."
Hashimoto was still looking around the place. Iona looked to Kira. There was something about the way she was looking, at the exact place where Hashimoto was looking, that made Iona want to step in.
"I think it's time you left, sir," she said, as politely as possible, "We obviously don't know anything."
The man glared at Iona, but she did not budge. She had to look up to meet his eyes, she being so short, but she did so. She didn't stop glaring at him. She was determined to make him blink first.
"Very well," he said, "I'm off. But if you do see anything strange--"
"I'll be sure to report it to the police," she said.
"Tch," said Hashimoto, and began walking away.
Iona checked around to see if he was truly going before turning to Kira.
"What a creep," she said, "If we were in Gorbals he would have gotten his erse kicked--I mean, his butt kicked."

Kira had a frown as he started saying those things about her friend. "Jerk." she muttered out as he left unlike her friend having no idea about curse words or anything doing with that sorta thing. Despite that Kira felt like maybe she should of said something, but then againshe didn't want to possibly lose Renamon like that.
"Should of gotten his butt kicked here." Kira added obvious displeased with what just went down, hopefully Iona didn't question Kira's odd behaviour doing that time.

"Ah left mah butt kicking shoes at home," said Iona. She smirked.
What precisely had gotten into Iona, she didn't quite understand. She wasn't a confrontational person, at least not when she didn't have at least three other friends for backup. And they were all kicking someone on the floor together. She just hated to see kids being bullied by adults. And that man certainly struck her as some kind of bully.
Iona was reminded of her aunt and uncle's children. There was a slight pang in her chest at the thought. A single breath, and then it was gone.
"Yis awrite?" she asked, "He was making ya nervous, right? Me too."

Kira let out a small laugh at that butt kicking shoes thing. "Too bad." she agreed still looking at the way the man was looking, who knows maybe Renamon has moved and she was worried for nothing. Kira looked at Iona before smiling. "Yeah I'm alright, I'm tougher then I look." which was saying a lot since she really did not look threatning at all, it would be like a kitten telling you off.
"Might just be the environment that was making me nervous, after all he was looking over there a lot, I was worried he had people behind there." Kira said with a shaky laugh to cover up why her attention was so focused on that direction, pretty convincing. "Though it is strange for someone to just approach and talk for a while, detective or no detective." Kira said mostly for herself, it was rather odd.

"Or it's the uneasy feeling of being watched." A familiar, mischievous voice said, as two eyes, one green, and one red peered at the two, attached to hands descending from above, before falling down, directly on his head, his arms stretched outwards when the silly rookie-level digimon landed, "Ow. He muttered, falling down, clutching his head, as he sat there, writhing. "That usually works..." He whined, climbing shakily to his feet, still shaking off the stunning landing, "Well? How was the landing? I'll say... 1-to-ten... Spicy." He concluded, hands on his hips as he turned, to face the two. It took him a moment to realize he was standing on on an unconscious, balding man. "Oh, THERE you are! I thought I'd lost the guy who partied too hard, I mean, of all things, you know?" He asked, stepping down from his body, by walking along his back, then stepping on his head like a set of stairs, before standing on the ground, turning to face the detective, poking him with those unnaturally long and red claws of his.
