Isaac blinked at Ikki's reaction. Really? Seriously? So Rei was the one who dragged the brothers into this mess in the first place, and now it turned out they had done the exact same thing to her brother? Only difference there was that they were able to get out within the first day and slowly master the Digital World. Ikki? Not so fortunate. A pang of guilt resonated in Isaac's gut, as he wondered if he could have prevented this in any way, shape, or form. "Huh. Small world," he said, trying to find even a few words that would remotely fit his reaction. These weren't the best ones, but they would have to do for now.
More important than his reaction would be Rei's. Isaac could only imagine how a sibling must feel to lose theirs. He knew if he hadn't seen Elliot in three months, he would have torn Shibuya apart looking for him. He shook his head, returning focus as he tried to bring the mission back to its number one priority. "Where does she live?" he asked, realizing that his meeting with Rei would have been completely non-conductive towards actually finding her. "We can show you the way out of the Digital World, and from there finding her should be no problem, right?"
While Isaac tried to comfort Ikki, Elliot tried to comfort those he left in his wake. He looked down at the little Yasyamon, his voice warm and gentle and a placid smile spreading across his face. "No need to worry, guys," he said. "You're safe now. We made sure of it." He wasn't sure if they knew Ikki was the Greifmon or not, but hopefully the fact that they were no longer being kicked around would help calm them down.
As he spoke to them he turned to Ikki. The look in his eyes wasn't hard or angry, but instead warm and imploring. It was more a suggestion than a demand, as if he was telling Ikki "It's okay. You can apologize now." However, it was clear he'd fix that look right on Ikki until that apology started coming out.

“Easy peasy.” Ikki affirmed to Issac’s idea, however…”But I don’t think I should go back…like this.” Sure. He could show up, have the heart-felt reunion and teary joy, and try to go back to his life like nothing had ever happened. Unfortunately he wouldn’t be able to. Not after all…ugh. Why. Why. Why. “I’m back to normal now, but who is to say I won’t lose control again?” He shook his head. This was much deeper than he initially realized. Yeah. That darkness- or whatever it was- had given him a choice. He choose to let it cloud his judgement. To allow himself to become overwhelmed.
Ikki needed to sort his shit out.
He heard Elliot console the in-training digimon and glimpsed over his shoulder, only to immediately regret his decision. The scrutiny he was receiving from Issac’s brother...okay. It wasn’t exactly scrutiny. It was more like a reserved calm and coaxing expression that nudged him to do the right thing. Gah. He struggled, looking between Elliot and the digimon and then back to Issac. Did he really have to?
Yes.
Once more he faced the other direction, shoulders stiffening as he eyed the clouds above. This was as good as an apology that Elliot was going to get from him. He coughed, clearing his throat.
“I’m sorry.” Ikki spoke loud enough for all to hear. Loud but filled with remorse. Bashfully he scuffled from one foot to another, keeping his line of sight straight up and ahead. Damn. It felt like he was being scolded by his mother.
Fluff-omph.
A ball of fluff had latched onto his head. Ikki nearly jumped out of his skin, surprised by the sudden…affection? And then he was being overwhelmed by the small creatures who crowded around him, bouncing happily. What. The. Hell.
“H-hey!” He had not been expecting this. Not one bit.
“You were just confused! We understand!” The little digimon choir-ed together. Ikki paused. No. He was pretty sure they quite didn’t get what had transpired. That they were just an overly gullible and joyous bunch….lips twitched into a small smile. Ah. Well. What can you do? The Yaamon unexpectedly hopped into his arms, shrugging with its ears as it looked up at him with those huge eyes of his. As if to say, ‘I told you so.’
Whatver.
“Okay, that’s enough. Get off.” Ikki tugged the one from his head and set it gently on the ground with the Yaamon.

"You've got a point there," Isaac advised, remembering just how intoxicating the power of turning into a Digimon was the first time. He and Elliot were lucky, in that they at least had contacts to help them mitigate it and rarely stayed in Digimon form for more than a few hours. Ikki, if he had entered the same day Isaac did, was in Digimon form for months on end without pause. If what he was doing to the Yaamon was any indication, it wasn't too nice of a Digimon form, either. "Especially when you've been transformed for a while, it can take a lot to reset yourself back to normal. And it takes a good deal of training to make the form feel all natural, tool. But really, once you've got the hang of one form, learning new ones starts to get easier and easier. It'll take a bit, but I'm sure you'll be a natural soon enough."
Truthfully, it wasn't a problem the bros had seen much of yet. Their sprite and human forms had been mostly agreeable, and their beast fractions too weak to properly overwhelm them. It was only recently that they had claimed their beast spirits, where things started to be different. "I know how you feel," Elliot assured Ikki, deciding not to elaborate further. His newest form, Gargoylemon, was like a chained-down beast, his normally well-balanced emotions split into a fire within and a stony exterior. It was an unstable, almost painful feeling, and the main reason why Gargoylemon was scarce even as Isaac easily added Devidramon into his repertoire. Even then, Isaac still seemed much more vicious, almost predatory, when transforming. "But we're here to help, okay?"
And then the man that had been so scary moments ago was now being swamped by bouncing puffballs. It was hard for the bros to stifle their laughter, Isaac the slightest bit better at it than Elliot was. However, as silly as it was, it was also an important thing about the Digital World. It was a place of new beginnings, and a place of forgiveness. Even if Ikki started out his time here on quite the bad foot, now he'd have the chance to make it up to the Yaamon. And to himself. Heck, even to Rei!

“Yeah, yeah, laugh it up.” The older male grumbled, churning over what they had explained to him. Ikki had an uneasy feeling that this was going to be difficult. Only at the rookie level and the form was treacherous. Would he really be strong-willed enough to handle it? If it wasn’t for these two….he would still be stuck and perhaps even forget who he was. Though by the sound of it, practice makes perfect.
“Here to help, eh?” Maybe that wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Unlike him, they would need to return back home. Already he’s been missing for months, so what would a little more hurt? It would be worse if Ikki returned now without overcoming himself….but when they did come back, perhaps they could teach him a few things? That is if they were willing…speaking of which, this was pretty much banging his pride around and he sighed, ruffling his hair.
“Um- well then, you wouldn’t mind helping out for a bit then? Would be great if someone was around to knock me out. Ya know, just in case I lose control again…” Ikki paused. “Sounds like I need to practice control…and I have a hunch this won’t be easy.” He got down to one knee, expression softening as he petted one of the fluff balls. “I wanna start over with these guys. And first I gotta start over with myself.” It wasn’t out of place to feel protective over the weak. But it was to express it openly. He wasn’t sure what got into him.

Knock him out? That was the sound of someone who was already feeling awful for what he had done before. The bros shot each other uneasy looks, hoping that it wouldn't come down to that. It would suck if this transformation was already going to be taken as a horrible curse to be beaten out of instead of something to master, but then again a bit of discretion was healthy when dealing with something so dangerous and new. It showed that Ikki was hugely remorseful over his actions, too. If he had been doing this for months, who knows how many people he may have hurt up until this point? Worse people would've just shrugged it off as some kind of bad dream, so the fact that Ikki was already thinking about how to repay it all went a long way towards helping.
They just hoped it wouldn't spill over into self-flagellation.
Isaac looked at Ikki, blinking. "Well, if that's what you really want. Lets hope it doesn't get to that point, though, okay?" It was certainly one of the weirder requests he had ever had in the Digital World, and that was saying something. Then again, provided Ikki didn't get swayed to the dark side too often, it wouldn't be much of a problem.
Elliot tried to be more understanding of the situation. He smiled warmly at the man, watching as he gently cradled a Yaamon. "I think you're already doing good with that," he assured Ikki. How could that not be the truth? The man had a gentle touch, and when he recovered from the strange fit of violence he seemed really nice and peaceful. There was no way he was a bad guy deep down, and Elliot knew that Greifmon was the exception, not the norm, in Ikki's life. Sure, he may have made mistakes, but why write someone off entirely for them? He'd find his way sooner or later, and Elliot decided he'd wait on hand until Ikki did so.

Already doing good, huh?
Just because he was kind now, did not mean the flames of revenge have been quelled. In fact, he was still looking forward to getting his hands on the bastard who almost killed Rei. But the way to do it did not require hurting the innocent. Ikki grimly smiled at Elliot's statement. It was that fire he was worried about getting lost in again. Revenge was a double-edge sword. One that he carefully had to tread. And adding the fact that he was now a spirit user, well, he was that more susceptible to it.
Then let it go.
The easy solution to it, right?
He couldn't though, not after all that.
Ikki straightened up and eyed the brothers with calculation. "Agreed. I'm not too keen about the idea of getting hit unconscious by a couple of kids." He smirked teasingly, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "So I'm not planning on letting it get to me easily again. More like, a precaution, yeah?" He stretched, that cocky grin still plastered on his face. Confident. Be confident. But the truth of the matter was that he was downright terrified. There was a lot of gaps in memories. No matter how hard he tried to recall the rest of what he had done.
"But not today. I need a break....from, ya know. I spent way too long like that..." Ikki trailed off, mind wandering again to those dark moments. He would be lucky if he got out of trauma. And he wouldn't know until he tried again. Damn. But it was something he needed to conquer. There was no running from it even if he wanted to.
"So I guess I'll just stick around with these little guys. I mean, if that's okay?" The in-training digimon hopped in excitement at the notion of a new friend. With their cheerful, well, cheers, he took that as a yes. "Do ya guys have to head home?" Whatever they wanted to do was fine with him. He just didn't want to keep them away from their home world for long, Ikki had already caused them enough trouble. Even if he did still have questions about how exactly they met Rei.

"There ya go. Hope the best but prepare for the worst, yeah?" Elliot asked. Ikki was speaking his language! Elliot was the kind of guy who'd charge after a silver lining no matter what, but Isaac was always more on Team Wait-And-See. Sure, when he did see an opportunity he'd charge into it like his life depended on it, but until then he was going to keep everything in a somewhat suspicious eye. The fact that Ikki seemed to be doing the same was encouraging. It meant he'd be able to take good care of himself once the bros helped him get back on his feet.
Wait, weren't they the kids here? It felt weird having those thoughts about someone many years his senior. Maybe Digimon experience was the big equalizer here.
That said, he was right. It was important he take a break from Spirit Digivolution before it consumed him. Hell, after he and Elliot transformed for the first time, they didn't even touch their Digivices until at least 3 days later. Even then they did their best to pace themselves, trying out the forms and growing acclimated to them before going on any extended adventures. It was really prudent of Ikki to do the same. "Good call," Isaac added. "Think of it like exercising. Try transforming for a few minutes at a time, and don't strain yourself too hard. And when you practice your attacks, please don't point them at anyone living. They can get out of control really quick." He shuddered, remembering an early sparring match with Elliot where his Imp-losion almost knocked his bro's lights out.
Elliot beamed at hearing Ikki wanted to stick around the Yaamon. "That's great! I know they'll be huge helps for you," he said. They could teach him how to Digimon, and they were cute enough to sate his ever-burning rage. It was perfect! "We're probably gonna have to head home eventually, though. Mom's been getting really worried about how much we've been staying out lately. But if there's anything else you'd like us to do, my bro and I are always happy to help."
