The First
The darkness of night was shattered as the light of dawn bloomed from the horizon, signaling the arrival of the morning. An impossibly great shadow was cast over the land as the rays washed over the form of a sleeping Giant, its massive form shaking as it awoke.
The Golden City of Eldoradimon bustled with life as the light shone against the walls of their buildings; Large, thick structures that reached for the heavens made of beautifully polished sandstone.
In a small, humble abode at the outskirts of the city, the rays of light shone through an open window and into the bedroom of a young, small dragon, slowly washing over his sheets before touching his eyelids.
The young dragon's brows knotted together weakly, his arm moving to shelter him from the light. He held no wish to leave the comforts of his bed.
Unfortunately for him, he didn't get a say on the matter.
The door to his room was thrown open soundly, the sound of steps on a wooden floor echoing in the bedroom even as the small dragon moaned, hiding himself under the sheets.
"Rise and shine, Young one!" A deep, baritone voice boomed, making the small digimon try and sink further into his mattress. The large, armored owner of the voice promptly reached down, grasping at the sheets and pulling them off in a single motion, throwing them carelessly over his shoulder. "Wake up, my young Squire! A busy day awaits us, let's not waste daylight!"
The small dragon, Squire, groaned as he slowly sat up, rubbing at his eyes with the palm of his hand, while looking in the large digimon's general direction. He tried to speak, but found himself interrupted by a Yawn, his small mouth opening wide.
"A- busy day?" He mumbled, licking at his chapped lips while looking up at his master lazily, his mind not quite caught up yet.
"Quite so."
There was an Inn fairly close by to their small home; it didn't often saw much patronage from travelers, but it was a regular spot for those seeking a good meal.
Sitting at the barside, the young blue dragon, now in full armor, stuffed his face full of eggs and sausages with childish gusto, ignoring every rule of proper eating etiquette he had been taught as he filled his stomach.
Besides him, in complete contrast, his master, standing at over 12 feet tall, calmly and properly ate his fill, chatting idly with the bartender before turning towards his apprentice.
"Young Squire," He started, prompting the small dragon to look up from his plate with his face still stuffed with food, a sausage dangling from his lips.
"Wha?" He asked, bits of the sausage flying around as he blinked up at the knight.
"Don't do that." Admonished the knight, making the little dragon tilt his head to the side in confusion. The Knight could only sigh. "Anyways, I have a task for you today, Young Squire."
The young dragon gave the large digimon a dirty look, prompting a small, inwards sBAN ME PLEASE from the Knight.
"You want me to work as your messenger boy again!" He immediately accused, pointing a fork with a speared egg at the large knight.
The knight snorted in response. "It may surprise you, but no."
The small dragon perked up, curiosity lighting up his eyes. "You'll be running errands instead." His curiosity died, replaced by a little frown and a pout.
"You see, a merchant trading Chrome digizoid ingots recently arrived to the city; if you remember what I taught you before, you know-"
"Chrome digizoid is rare and hard to obtain through mining, blah blah blah blah, evolution or something. Yeah yeah, I get it." Interrupted the small dragon, grinning cheekily at the Knight.
"Ahem, yes, quite rare, and expensive. As such, for knights such as ourselves, these goods are specially important. Unfortunately, I can't go myself today; I will be running a few, important errands at the inner City myself. So I want you to go to the Bazaar and obtain 2 dozens of digizoid ingots."
With that said, the knight digimon reached for a relatively small bag, letting it drop onto Squire's palms. "This should be enough."
Squire grunted slightly as the bag landed on his palms, testing its weight on his hands, his eyes wide. "There's more bits here than in the bag you paid the house with!"
"Possibly." Standing up, the knight dropped a few bits on the counter, paying for the meals before turning towards the exit of the Inn. "I'll be home by the Evening!"
Staring at his master's silhouette while munching on a sausage, Squire slowly tucked the bag of bits to his belt, swallowing down his meal before he too pushed away from the counter.
"Chrome Digizoid..." he mumbled, looking down at his steel plate armor with curiosity. "Wonder if Milord will let me use some of that." He muttered hopefully, tugging at his gauntlets; they could certainly use an upgrade.
The City's bazaar was not a place Squire frequented; it was a place that required money after all, and the small dragon had none of that. Still, he had seen the entrance more than a few times while delivering messages for his lord, so finding it was not hard.
The entrance to the bazaar was a tall, richly decorated arc, leading into large alleyway filled to the brim with stalls and tarps with the most strange and unusual of items. It was also a place filled with all kinds of shady digimon; not somewhere a child should be sent on his own.
Shrugging to himself, Squire stepped towards the entrance of the Bazaar, keeping a hand firmly on the bag of bits.

Small sounds of talking were easily heard from a nearby shop next to the entrance of the bazaar, mumbled thank yous and sorry's were heard as a large Mega level digimon slowly left the location, eyes adjusting the the outside despite not spending that long in the shade., with a sigh he threw his hands to his side looking behind himself watching a rookie level digimon trail behind him.
"Are you sure she said this was the place she saw him?" The dark Mega questioned the younger digimon, with a nod he looked around the place one more time, as if the target would be somewhere nearby just waiting for them to get out of the store. "Noire said she heard that the digimon who attacked you and Luna was seen around here, he bought something to help with wounds I think, you must of thrashed him good Dust." He spoke out giving away the Beelzemon's name. "Didn't give me much of a choice, it was either that or I got hurt, can't afford that to happen now." Despite the Rookie Hackmon being there he was busy with his own fight, couldn't of seen the fight even if he wanted too.
With a small pull of his jacket the dark Mega level digimon looked around the bazaar one more time, a quick glance around. "Is it just me or do people seem a bit on edge since we got here?" He asked the younger companion who raised his hand waving it off. "It's just because you're a Mega level digimon whose powered by Darkness, don't worry I'm sure he's here, Sis always knows best." He affirmed.
"Then why didn't she lead me not you."" The dark one asked himself shrugging at the smaller digimon's apparent fact on this.

Squire-Veemon had never actually ventured into the bazaar; it was quite an understatement to say he was unprepared for the wonders that awaited him. Bright red eyes widened as he went past the finely decorated arc, the sound of bustling business around him seemingly jumping a few decibels now that he was actually in the Bazaar.
Around him digimon of all types and sizes bartered, traded, conned, argued, and screamed at one another as businesses were conducted. Rare jewelry, expensive clothes, exotic weapons, unusual tools; items of all kinds as far as his gaze could reach.
So dazzled he was, he bumped face first onto one of the stalls, prompting the owner to scream at him a plethora of obscenities the boy couldn't even comprehend.
"Are those actually words?" Asked the dragon boy curiously as he dragged the back of his hand over his face, wiping away the saliva that had flown out of the stall owner's mouth.
The stall owner resumed screaming at him in gibberish. After a minute of trying and failing to comprehend the mon, Squire sighed and gave up, wiping away the saliva once again as he turned away, further enraging the stall owner and making him scream even louder.
Not a single digimon around them even looked in their general direction; just a common sight at the Bazaar, apparently. As he walked away, the small Squire's attention was drawn to a particular stall. Why?
It had one Big. Ass. Sword.
"Yggdrasil above!" gasped the small digimon as he caught sight of the magnificently humongous blade, his legs still carrying him forward even as his attention was captured by the Sword.
He honestly should have known better than to stop paying attention.
"I wonder if I could get Milord to bu- Oof!" He gasped as his body came to a jarring stop, something akin to a solid piece of steel getting into his way. Falling onto his ass, the small dragon groaned as he held the side of his head, his hard skull throbbing.
"What the- ..." His words died off as he found himself staring up at a digimon only very slightly underneath his master in terms of height. Something about him was... familiar, but only slightly. There was only one thing he knew for certain; he made for a rather terrifying character. "... Uh..."

Slowly raising his hands to his ears Dust gave a small sigh at the loud noises of this place, which was one of the reasons he never came here or the Terminus Mall, the loud shopkeepers and the even louder customers all arguing with one another on things, even one who was apparently starting to scream at something, which did wonders for the Beelzemon.
Guess we'd better keep loo- huh?" Despite the sound being masked by everything else going on Dust did feel something against his leg, he would've mistook it for the wind if it didn't vanish as quickly as it hit him. "Hackmon did you just hit me?" He questioned the rookie nearby, but seeing as the digimon had already started walking off that was quickly debunked.
Turning around he looked down, way down. On what seemed to be a, what was it? Veemon? Only didn't seem like the same digimon Dust was recalling. The three red eyes on his head looked at the digimon for a moment before he bent down, definity not reaching the same height as the digimon but coming close. Dust then slowly offered his hand out to the digimon with a small smile.
"Better places to be sitting then the ground, come on up and at em." He said in his usual gruff voice. Dust held his hand out to the digimon, should he grab it Dust would, not harshly, pull the rookie back to his feet, though if he denied the Mega Dust would simply stand back up as if he didn't offer in the first place.
Hackmon, who had figured Dust would of started following him quickly ran back over to the digimon behind him.

The much larger digimon seemed to not have quite realized he was there; the young dragon wasn't sure if he should have been thankful or annoyed at that. His draconic pride demanded recognition; his very small, underdeveloped sense of self-preservation screamed at him to stay silent and slowly get away.
Naturally, common sense went ignored.
Courage Check = Pass.[+2 Courage]
"Oi, Down here!" He barked irritably in response to the larger digimon; he felt his temper shrivel ever so slightly when the large mon finally turned to look at him, gulping slightly as all three eyes centered on him. Still, the little dragon steeled himself and swallowed down his fears, shoving them to the back of his head even as the larger digimon slowly crouched in front of him.
Even while squatting the guy was much larger than him, Squire felt sweat roll down his neck looking at the guy in the eye... swallowing down hard, the dragon boy's countenance settled on a frown, his hand grasping at his sword's handle.
Before the large digimon suddenly held out his hand towards him.
The small dragon blinked at the appendage, before looking up at the tall digimon. "Uh..." Was all he could utter as he stared uncertainly at the offered appendage.
Well this was a little awkward.
"... Uh, I... I can stand up on my, uh..." His began to mumble, his words stumbling upon themselves before he simply shut his mouth, slowly taking the digimon's hand into his own and letting him help him onto his feet; the digimon's words and his disposition were at odds with his intimidating appearance, making the little dragon a bit uncertain.
Purity Check = Pass. [+3 Purity]
"Uh... Thanks, Sir. I guess" He muttered, a slight flush of embarrassment coloring his cheeks. "I could have stood up on my own!" He quickly assured the taller mon, crossing his arms over his small chest, still flushed. "But, yeah, thanks."

Dust silently ignored the attempt to grab his weapon, after all even crouched down like this his opposite hand was still resting easily on the attached by his leg, and he doubted even if he did continue with the weapon pulling anything would come of it. Instead he just helped the digimon up standing back up as the digimon kept telling Dust he could stand on his own, Dust stifled a laugh at this raising his hand. "Heh, sorry I'm not laughing at you, you just remind me of someone I know, she would say the same thing if I ever tried to help her up." He quickly said in hopes that the smaller digimon wouldn't assume he was laughing at him.
"You're talking about Luna, right?" Hackmon questioned Dust, giving a small glance to the white digimon behind him He gave a nod. "Just checking, same could be said of Noire." Dust scratched the side of his head giving a small sigh, what was with him and being around people who didn't like common courtesy.
"And there's no need to thank me, I was the one who knocked you down, best I be the one to help you up isn't it?" He pointed out, despite the fact it wasn't his fault, technically he ran into Dust after all. "Either way Nice to meet you. Name's Dust." He quickly introduced deciding he might as well know the name of the digimon he ran into, if the dragon looked close enough he would notice a broken pendent around the digimon's neck, Du rest on the front of it for all to see. "'m Hackmon, also have you seen a large pink knight looking digimon around here?" He decided to ask figuring might as well get some info out of this.

The small dragon patted the dust off himself as the larger digimon stiffled his laughter, probably trying his best to not embarrass the little dragon for his over reaction. "Yeah yeah, laugh all you want." He said irritably, once again crossing his arms over his chest, the larger digimon's explanation flying into an ear and coming out of the other unheard.
A much smaller digimon had now joined the conversation; the Hackmon the larger dude had mentioned before when Squire bumped into him, apparently. The little knight sized up the other apparent rookie; their little chat about their friends went unnoticed as he took in the details each one of the two.
He concluded he had never seen the two, or anything like them. Strange enough, as Eldoradimon's population was exceedingly vast and varied. His irritation slowly washed away as he realized the two digimon before him were likely outsiders and visitors.
After a few seconds, he realized the larger digimon was actually talking to him.
Purity Check = Pass. [+3 Purity]
"Uh?" He uttered eloquently, blinking at the larger digimon before his words finally registered. His slack expression finally hardened back into slightly irritated, bratty expression, his arms crossing over his chest once again. "I guess that makes sense. I will forgive you; just this once though!" He said, giving a nod and a harrumph.
"Dust? That's not a digimon name I've ever heard." He mumbled in confusion, his brows knotting together to show his bemusement as he tilted his head to the side. "Eh, whatever. My name's Squire-Veemon. Nice to meet'cha." He said, nodding at both of them. The question Dust followed with tickled slightly at his curiosity.
Knowledge Check = Pass. [+3 Knowledge]
"A pink... knight?" He asked again, as if for clarification, staring at them in confusion. "I don't think I've ever seen such a knight around here." he mumbled, scratching at the side of his head. "But, uh... I think you could go ask at the Knight's guild of the city?" He had only seen Knightmon and Gladimon there, with the occasional, rare Mega like his master. "Never seen a pink armor, tho. Master might ha-" He paused.
"Oh, crud!" He suddenly uttered, slapping his hand against his forehead, "I should have gotten that Digizoid by now!" He said urgently, breaking into a small run past the other two, once again forgetting his manners.

Dust had to stifle another laugh as he heard what the smaller digimon had to say about forgiving Dust, more and more this digimon was just sounding exactly like Luna, it was pretty funny. "Thanks for your forgiveness, last thing I need is more people putting me on their bad side." This was sadly true, despite the nice nature of him there were plenty of mega level digimon and one above that wanted his head badly, Lucky for him he manages to get out of that easily.
But with the misunderstanding Dust decided to try and clear that up. "Oh my species name isn't Dust it's, and he's gone." Dust watched as he broke into a small run past them, which for the third time reminded him of Luna, though this time on a smaller scale than before since he wasn't going the wrong way. "Seems like he was in a hurry." To that Dust simply shrugged not knowing what he had to go and buy, after all didn't seem like much he could use around here, someone could most likely find use for anything here.
"So there's a knight's guild around here?" Dust asked himself looking around for a moment. "Should we check over there then?" Dust shook his head dismissing that idea. "Doubt someone like him would be part of a guild, after all pretty sure it's frowned upon to attack someone in the city, plus we don't know where it is anyway. Should probably ask." Since he was the one to mention it he must have some idea, plus Dust would want to ask this master of his if he knew about it, he did say they might of seen something like that. So with no other leads at a slower pace the two followed the digimon.

The small dragon had already forgotten about the short encounter with the imposing mega level, tearing through the bazaar at top speed to find the Digizoid Merchant. A few questions directed towards a few of the kinder stall owners led him deeper into the bazaar.
In the deeper parts within the Bazaar, warehouses used to store the greater, more bountiful merchandise of the wealthy merchants could be found. Having followed the instructions given to him, Squire found himself speaking animatedly with the digizoid merchant, a Perfect level digimon dressed in garbs fit for the high class. Behind him, the gate leading into the warehouse housing his merchandise was wide open, flanked by two Fierce looking Ultimate level Bodyguards.
After a short exchange, Squire's money bag found itself into the Merchant's hands, who thanked the little dragon for his patronage. The small rookie found himself staring at a wooden crate containing, 24 ingots of Chrome Digizoid, stacked neatly and held together by a strong rope inside the box.
The little digimon stared at the stack with his lip curled; regular steel ingots were pretty heavy as it were; he could only imagine how much digizoid weighed.
Releasing a sigh, Squire-Veemon interlaced his fingers and then flexed them in front of him, letting them pop soundly before letting his hands fall to his sides. "Sooner I get started, sooner it'll be over." He mumbled, Squatting in front of the crate and letting his fingers slip underneath the wooden frame.
With a growl and a forceful heft, the little dragon yanked the box off the ground, before supporting it over his shoulder, both hands straining at the weight contained within the crate, his knees bending under the pressure.
"T-This... is gonna be a long way home." He bemoaned softly as he began to walk towards the exit of the bazaar, his legs carrying him as fast as they could; the sooner he could drop the crate, the better.

This was terrible, possibly one of the worst things someone could of done to them, it was bad but sadly it had happened and there was no way to change it. The Shield, the only means of attack and defense they had, was smashed. It was smashed due to some ghost from his past, he was sure he was stronger then him before he went after him, so sure he spent everything he had on guards to keep his fiends distracted so it didn't end up like last time, how that backfired he had found more followers to help him out.
But what was that? Scanning through the crowds he saw a small little dragon dressed in some garb, he hadn't seen a digimon like that before but he was carrying something, something that might be useful in helping with the repairs of his armor and weapons, he doubted he could of stolen it from the two Ultimates guarding the place with the condition he was in now, but what about a rookie level digimon? He could swipe it and make off with it faster then he could run. Why would anyone around here care about that? He had paid for it so the guards wouldn't, it was perfect.
Despite the fact this disgusted him to stoop this low in order to repair himself he had little option, and he wasn't about to let that evil Beelzemon gain more power before he could stop him, thinking on it for a few moments he steeled himself for what he was about to do.
Dashing forward through the crowd the large pink digimon moved as fast as he could towards squire coming near him, he would grab the crate he was carrying by the sides trying to pull it away from the rookie level digimon, should he hold on though or fail to get out of the way surely he would be simply dragged along by the large mega level knight.
Dust and Hackmon both didn't notice where the digimon had gone off two, in any case though he seemed to be after something, Dust had the quick thought of just helping him carry or find whatever he was looking for and get some info in the process, it was a win, win unless he just wanted to tell the Mega and Rookie, in the end they wouldn't force them at all.
Though the small rookie had taken to sitting on his friend's shoulder to get a better view, it was quite nice when a larger digimon didn't block literally everything, though with that he did notice some pink thing moving quite fast towards, something he couldn't tell looked like a box from his angle.

Well, the box was not getting any lighter. This was problematic. At the rate he was going, he would only be getting home by evening. Kind of problematic, as his master expected him home three friggin' hours earlier than that.
'He knew this was gonna happen, the darned old coot.' The damn knight and his taskmaster ways would give Squire an ulcer at this rate. Whatever! He just had to power his way through it. Willpower will carry him through the task! Everything was possible if he believed!
... Except moving any faster with the damn crate on his back, apparently. 'Goddamn it!'
And then suddenly it was much lighter. 'Oh, that's bet-' And then he was getting yanked off his feet at rather ridiculous speeds, his hands still stubbornly attached to his crate as it was carried off by a much larger thieve.
Oh, he was getting robbed, apparently.
As if.
"Oi Bastard, I paid for these! Step the crud off!" He hissed out at the thieve, a pink armored individual who seemed to be paying very little attention to the rookie attached to the crate he was trying to steal. "Pay attention, goddamn it! Just you wait until you get tired of running! I'll open a can of whoopass on your ass!"

Things were going good, he would just take the crate and get whatever he needed to be repaired repaired, considering it was pretty heavy it must of been enough. Hard to eyeball it when you were running at a crate being held by someone else. Except luck was not on his side as the digimon that was transferring the stuff, was still holding on to it. As if things just couldn't go his way for once in his life. "Either let go or when I stop running I throw you under one of Eldoradimon's feet, your call shorty." He threatened the rookie his voice as cold as he could, despite the fact he just wanted someone dead he wasn't about to just stop mid stealing of something, kinda had to do should of thought of a game plan.
Meanwhile with the duo of the rookie and the Mega the white digimon watched as the pink thing ran over, and then picked up the moving crate and left. Catching the small squire as the crate turned around, who was now very mad Hackmon quickly patted Dust in the face/Eye horribly pissing the Mega level digimon off, but for good reasons. "Dust I think that rookie is being stolen by the digimon." He said as he kept patting Dust in the face pointing towards the target. "Ughh, Hackmon stop that. You're worse than Luna when she wants to get my attention." Dust reacted pulling his gun out pointing it towards the digimon one eye closed staring at them tracing along their path with his eye as he tried to line up the shot, but couldn't due to the crowd that surrounded him.
"Why does this always happen to me? After him." Apparently no one else that was around Dust could be bothered to care, they were bothered by the Mega level digimon pushing his way through the crowd, priorities.

The infinitely more powerful Mega level digimon was threatening him.
Courage Check: Pass [Courage +1]
Squire was not impressed.
"Do your worst, Pinkie Pie! Make you sure you stop by a blacksmith to get some REAL armor after yer done, too!" He screamed at the top of his lungs at the incredibly powerful knight digimon, holding onto the box of digizoid like a leech to naked skin. "Did your mom dress you up? I can tell she wanted a girl!"
His courage/stupidity was commendable, though he was likely not doing his survival rate any favors. Unfortunately, Squire was a spitfire. He would go get himself killed long before he chose to let this thieving bastard get away.
"You realize who I am, Punk?!" He screamed, still attached rather firmly to the box. "My master and guardian is Dukemon! Just wait till he hears you tried to steal his digizoid! He'll shove his lance so far up your-" Unfortunately, such long sentences were hard to word correctly when trying to stay attached to a box moving wildly. Squire ended biting his tongue in the process of insulting the pink warrior.
"ACK!" He yelped, shushing for once as the pain spread over his tongue. It wasn't meant to last though, the Squire quickly opening his mouth again to shout at everyone around him. "Come on, people! I'm getting robbed here in broad daylight! SOME HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!"
Unfortunately, it seemed like non of the merchants or buyers around wanted to take their chances at tangling with a Mega leveled digimon. Bunch of cowards, the lot of them!
"Y'all are getting a chewing out once I'm done with this bozo!" Promised the small dragon, gritting his teeth. It seemed like he would have to do everything himself. How typical.

Ohh he just called him pink, most likely not the best idea to call someone who was currently dragging you around like a bag of rocks. "Foot stomp it is, enjoy the last few minutes you have left." He simply said not even bothering to give the name and stupidity a response. Offing someone in the middle of the market was a lot more, messy than just running off and killing them later.
Meanwhile the heroic duo was currently shoving their way through the crowd, literally and figuratively as Dust just accidentally knocked someone over, he did grab their arm and stop them from falling into a stall but that did little as they were still pissed off at the Mega, seems like they only cared when it was them being messed with. "Darn, we ain't gonna catch up to him like this, we need to slow him down." As soon as the Mega said that he looked at the rookie that was sitting on his head. "Dust, why are you looking at me like that."
And then in the next five seconds Hackmon had evolved to BaoHackmon and was being held by Dust. "Fly Hackmon, Fly and save that person we just met." Dust shouted as he threw the digimon as hard as he could STRAIGHT at the pink knight. "DUST I'M TELLING NOIRE!" He shouted back as he was flung across the crowd, what Dust lacked in speed he made up for in brute champion throwing strength. Wasting no time the Mega started rushing through the crowd again.
"First, smash this kid and absorb his data, next go repair my shield and armor. then kill that evil Beelzem-Mphhh." He was cut short as something hit the back of his head very fast and held on for dear life. "Cross Combination." Wasting no time the now BaoHackmon made fire erupt from his claws and proceeded to bash the Mega in the head as hard as he could, sadly even with the Increase due to attacking someone far stronger than himself it didn't do much. Did do enough to annoy the Mega and lose their grip on the box. Though with that he did grab Hackmon and toss him to the side.

"Oh, please! Have you looked at yourself?" Jeered the small Veemon, his words coming out as hisses as he spoke. "You can't kill me! You look like a friggin' side character of your own miserable life! You think you are hot sludge? Bring it on, pinky!"
The pink armor had failed terribly at striking fear into the young child level's heart. Instead, it had unfortunately become the main object of Squire's mockery.
"And seriously? You think Eldoradimon will stomp me? Please! Eldoradimon is sentient, dumbass! He will sooner rampage all over evil ass than kill one of its citizens!"
He was talking out of his ass at this point. Heck if he knew if Eldoradimon would notice a pair of fleas walking underneath him. But hey, he sure as heck knew more about Eldoradimon than Pinkie Pie; the pink knight should know that.
Before the small dragon could continue his endless tirade against the pink Knight, a white blur suddenly slammed into the Knight's helmet, unleashing a fiery blaze all over it. It didn't seem to do much, unfortunately. But, it did make him drop the box. And Squire by extension.
He feel in a heap, all too lucky to land on top of the box instead of it being the other way around. He wasn't too sure if he would be able to move the box off him.
"Finally some help!" He screeched, looking at the scene before flinching as the BaoHuckmon was thrown off the larger digimon. "Oh crap! Hey man, thanks for the help and everything, but you should probably run now!"
