Things seemed to have calmed down suddenly around the Digital World. No longer was the sky dark, filled with ominous lightning. No longer was there anarchy in the streets. Surely, the rebuilding process was still underway in some other cities, but Terminus seemed... relatively stable. A familiar sight, and a location that seemed comfortable for Majin.
The duo sat on the edge of a roof, in a rather busy section of the market area of Terminus. The white-haired tamer and digimon partner wore their Vexus cloaks, but had the hood down. They simply looked down at the crowd with unamused eyes, munching on snacks.
Yeah. Even among all the hustle and bustle, Majin couldn't help but wonder about a lot of things. What he was about to do, was it truly right? What would happen to all these people and digimon? A chill went up his spine at the thought, and he quickly shook it off. He looked at the crowd, then up at the blue skies. He would save the girl, and this world, as well. Once he was done with his snack, he placed a hand under his chin, as he continued observing people carrying on with their lives. He sought balance. And this world was unbalanced.
"It truly is calmest before the storm." the human sighed, knowing things would change soon. Shadow sat next to him, disturbingly quiet. Majin remained relatively oblivious to Shadow's change of personality.

Well, for a pair just trying to get back into the swing of things in the Digital World, such 'philosophical' thinking was beyond them. It was as Majin realized: the major cities of the Digital World were finally beginning to reorganize themselves as markets, and safe havens for both Digimon and tamer. It was how this bustling market street got back into pace; heck, it was how they were now holding the same fights they did in the arena!
"Woo! I forgot how much fun that could be!" A recent spectator, Valeria, found herself sitting on the shoulder of her tamer. Her voice was a little dry, just coming from the fight stage as an enthusiastic spectator. With a shrug, her tamer responded:
"I dunno... I really just don't get it."
"Oh come on, we've fought there before!" Valeria gave a smile, a pat on her back.
"I know," Ami sighed, "But only because you've dragged me along to do it. I dunno, I guess I can't talk because I can't make things explode with my hands."
"... That does sound like a disadvantage there."
"Oh, shaddup." With a giggle herself, the two walked along, looking at various knick-knacks in the market, oblivious to the two observers above the crowd.

The digimon-watching continued for a while more, until Majin just sorta got bored and stood up, intent on walking away from the scene. But just as he was about to, Shadow stopped him.
"Wait." the BlackWizardmon suddenly alerted the tamer. His Aura Sense could distinguish between people, and he sensed someone exceptionally strong around the immediate area. Yeah, they were close. He gazed around, until his eyes rested on Ami and Valeria.
Majin stopped in his tracks, slightly confused at his digimon's quietness. But he turned back and knelt down next to the wizard, looking down at around the same direction.
"What of them?" the tamer inquired. They didn't look that powerful, really. But neither did they, currently. Still, another potential recruit was good. If he could get enough people to aid him, he was sure he would succeed in their coming assault.
"I think I've seen that digimon before..." Shadow responded. The aura was pretty familiar, he had at least seen that digimon once before. But he couldn't quite figure out where. Hopefully, they didn't come across as enemies. "Well, let's go meet them." Majin said, waving towards them. The BlackWizardmon nodded silently, as the duo jumped off the roof. The digimon floated down effortlessly - the human had a bit of a harder time taking in the sudden recoil, but he was fine. A bit of dust was kicked up, but he quickly brushed it off and started walking towards the other pair.
He walked with a smooth pace. As he did, he grabbed his shades and put them on, a charismatic smile on his face. That was his trademark farce. He could pull it off anytime.
"Oi there." he said once he got close enough. Yes, the crowd made it a bit more difficult, but he was confident he would stand out. They didn't seem like the gullible type though, he was struggling to find out a good way to approach. Perhaps the better way this time was just to tell the truth.
"You two look capable enough. I got a proposition, if you guys are willing." the human said, backing himself towards a wall. He didn't like standing in the middle of the crowd. A wall behind you was, at least this time, much more comfortable.
Shadow floated nearby. He looked at Valeria intently. He wasn't sure where he recognized her from. And it was annoying to not know.

Well, unfortunately for Majin, the boy wasn't the only one pulling a farce here.
And no, it wasn't Valeria nor Ami being intentionally deceitful: it was the setting. This market was full of Digimon and even a few people putting their best foot forward with everyone they met, trying to get a quick buck or two. The sunglasses, the trademark smile... heck, everything about him just made him blend in way too well!
Thus, when he called out to the tamer and her Digimon, Ami's first reaction was a blank blink and a stare, trying to figure out just what vibe this guy was giving. "Um, hi?" This guy definitely didn't look familiar. The rabbit on her shoulder gave a twitch of the ear, listening to what he had to say, before turning to her tamer. The two gave a shrug, Ami giving her response in as polite a tone as she could.
"I'm sorry, sir; just window-shopping and passing through. Nothing on me to buy anything." With a quick and polite bow, figuring that there was a hundred more fish in the sea that this supposed merchant could ask, the girl turned, the rabbit now getting a feeling that something was watching her:
"Um... huh." Well, that was a bit interesting: "Isn't that the Wizardmon from the first Infinity Tournament?"
"Hm? No, a Wizardmon wasn't in the bracket... I don't think, anyway."
"Huh."
Well, that was only worth a passing glance, then, wasn't it?

XD GENIUS The duo stopped to hear Majin out, a few seconds of silence passed before their reply. Yeah, long seconds of uncertainty. All kinds of things could go wrong. But this wasn't what Majin expected at all. The white-haired tamer froze in place as the duo walked off, confused at the human's response - but then it hit him. Oh, the sheer horror. Drops of sweat started falling off the tamer's forehead in slight embarrassment. It seemed she thought he was going to sell something to them. He did look like a black market dealer or something. What would he do now? Try and stop them? Explain himself? He would probably look like a creep, following them around like this. All the while, the girl and her digimon walked away further and further into the crowd. He took off his shades and stared at them. What a dilemma. Luckily, it seemed he wouldn't have to. Shadow floated closer to the duo, just above the crowd. He had his arms crossed behind his head, as if he was floating on a calm river... Except upside down. He kept staring at the other digimon. Was it creepy? Probably. "You misunderstand. We are not merchants." the wizard said. He seemed to be addressing the digimon. "May we have a word?" he inquired. Majin looked from a few feet away. Now that he thought about it, Shadow did seem a but different... He was sure the wizard would've laughed at the whole merchant thing.

Oh well... if they were going to make this less awkward, they should try and move along as soon as possible, away from the sweaty salesperson and his somewhat off-color and mysteriously silent Digimon. Ami was sure that they were running a respectable business here in the market, but really, so was everyone else. If they didn't try anything weird, they would simply be on their way, another small disappointment in a sea of potential sales-
"Um..."
The pair stopped, however, as the Wizardmon floated above them. Well, apparently they weren't merchants, earning a weird look from both of them. For the rabbit, however, it wasn't because of what he was saying. Rather:
"Hey, Mr. Magic Man?" Valeria's voice came across as curious: "How do you keep your hat on upside-down like that?"
"Valeria, I don't think that's what matters right now..." Shaking her head, the tamer gave the rabbit a small scratch behind the ear, Ami turning around to face Majin again. She gave a sigh...
"Not like we have anything better to do right now, I guess." Turning to more properly face Majin {leaving Valeria looking over Ami's shoulder to stare at the magic hat!), Ami stood next to the wall. "Whatcha need?"

"One of the many wonders of Magic." the wizard responded with a smirk on his face, as he took his hat off and spun it in mid-air with his wind magic. Indeed, the sudden comment had caught the wizard off-guard... It was admittedly funny. And better yet, he had succeeded in catching their attention, for the time being, anyway. "The name's Shadow."
Majin's face suddenly turned serious as he walked closer. He wasn't sure what would happen, but he had to try. He wasn't even sure if they were as powerful as his partner seemed to believe.
"Good, I'll cut straight to the chase. I'm Majin Delune, and this here is Shadow. We belong to an organization named Vexus. A war is about to erupt in Luminas, and we are seeking capable people to lead the effort." the human said, looking up at the sky.
"For too long have the denizens of Luminas sat by idly, while this world is overrun with evil. Surely you've witnessed their idleness, as well. We almost died fighting some crazed kid on the Dark Area on our own. Terminus itself has barely managed to recover from this last storm. Other cities have not been as lucky... And where is Luminas?"
Majin extended a hand out at the girl. "They use their power for selfish reasons. We seek balance. Will you lend us your power, so we can change this world?" he looked straight at her eyes. She looked like a tough one to crack. But that meant she definitely had much potential.
Shadow floated closer to Valeria. "Have we... Met before? I feel we have, long ago." the same question popped up again. He had seen them somewhere...

"And I'm Valeria." Well, at least this Wizardmon was entertaining! With a wild smile on her face, the rabbit continued to look at the magical display, entranced by the champion's silly performance. It was definitely a stark contrast to what was going on the way Ami was looking, the boy putting on a serious, dry expression.
Just what is this about? Some extremist? Hm?
Oh.
Oh.
Well, this just took a dark turn. As Majin spoke, Ami's expression was blank, Valeria's ear twitching as the rabbit turned to face the boy, as she caught wind of what he was saying. And this didn't sound like peaceful or enticing at all. No, this was a terrorist! Seeing that outreached hand, Ami looked towards Valeria, who was already whispering in her ear:
"We can't be seen with these people! Let's make an exit!"
With a small sigh, Ami gave a shrug. "Oh, I'm not much of a politician either. So... if you'll excuse me..."
"Maybe I've seen you? Either way, I think we've gotta be going..."
This was going about the opposite that Majin wanted. It was all Ami could hope that she could just lose them in the crowd she was inching towards. After all, Majin had just explained his entire plan to attack Luminas. If she got away, this would be a perfect chance to inform the city, and make the attack nigh impossible!
But it wasn't as if they could raise hell in the middle of crowded Terminus... could they?

Mere moments before finishing, Majin could just see the odd expression on her face. Her answer confirmed it - she wasn't in. He was a fool to think otherwise. He looked at her, then at her digimon, then at Shadow. The only thing he could do right now was salvage the situation, and attempt to confuse them if anything. It only took a moment for him to move; he burst out laughing, as his outstretched hand turned into a thumbs up.
"Dang, guys. Sorry, couldn't help myself." he said, scratching the back of his head. Shadow looked at all three curiously. It took him a bit to realize what was going on. He simply shrugged to Valeria. "Sorry. He sucks at jokes huh." the wizard added.
"Boredom does that to ya. Sorry, I probably messed up our first impressions huh? I didn't catch your names though." the human said. Thinking quickly, he pointed towards the coliseum.
"Don't recognize me? I'm the Champion of our last Beginner's Cup." Majin said, a wide smirk on his face. He turned serious again.
"I'm actually looking for volunteers to resume work on Rustport." he added. Yes, he had been to Rustport in this latest storm. The city was still being rebuilt by Beverly and the others. What a convenient excuse. Good thing he was gifted in these kind of things, but if all failed, he supposed he'd have to go extreme, indeed.
"What do you guys say? Interested?" he inquired. If they agreed, he'd just dump them in Rustport.

Wait... now what?
This seemed more than a little weird: Majin Delune had bounced from that serious expression, which divulged absolute sincerity of his feelings towards Luminas, and tried to pass it off as a joke? It was clear now more than ever that these two could not be related to this guy: he was either insane or a terrorist, and Ami's expression clearly showed that.
It also didn't help that Rustport, of all things, was the city that Majin brought up: a city brought to ruination by Valeria's hands. "As, um, noble as that sounds, I don't think we're qualified or prepared for repair work. See, we're just passing through, and-"
"Huh. Beginner's champion... that might be why it rings a bell..."
"Valeria." Ami sighed. "At any rate, I hope your repairs go well. As for my name, well, its 'Ami'. Either way..."
"Let's go, already, Ami." The rabbit pulled on her sleeve, and with that, Ami gave a wave. She didn't buy it at face value, and it couldn't hurt to just give Luminas a tip. If they were wrong, well, Luminas probably got false leads all the time.
But if they were right...

Majin simply watched Ami's reaction. Yes, she seemed confused alright. He smirked at the sight. Living in the streets prepared you for these kind of things. You could tell a lot of things from people's facial expressions. He wasn't the best at it, but he managed.
Shadow blinked. They seemed in a hurry to leave. Perhaps Majin's distraction hadn't been as effective as he thought. The digimon hesitated to do anything about it, though. He calmly waved to Valeria as they started to walk away.
"That's too bad. Well, if you feel like helping out later be sure to look for me here!" the human said in a rather cheery tone, a smile spread across his face. He was pretty disappointed at this turn of events, but oh well. Not everyone shared his convictions.
Shadow floated a bit forward. "Should I pursue?" he spoke in Majin's mind. The tamer shook his head. Even if he didn't convince them, it was unlikely that they had any considerable ties to the Luminas government. That, and those elitist angels were very adamant in regards to trusting humans. A random girl suddenly shouting wolf would be unlikely to catch much attention. As much as he wanted to cause an 'accident' and silence them, he knew this was the wiser decision. Besides, Vexus was on the down-low. Up till now, only members knew of it's existence. They would discard this as yet another ruse by a human.
"Let's go notify ChibiMachinedramon. That digimon seemed to recognize you from the tournament... Perhaps he can figure out who they are and keep an eye on them."
With that, the tamer raised his digivice, and a dark corridor rose up on the wall. Majin smirked as he looked out, before walking through.
"Why do I feel... Like we'll meet again?" Shadow muttered, before floating in himself.
*Exit*
