Digital World 101 Taken to Spartan Way [Colin]

Luke and Bellamy were gradually getting better. After a small rest, both of them were able to keep up with each other. As they completed the final two laps and bounced on the final log at the same time, they grinned. If only they had paws, they'd give each other a high-five.
Colin nodded at Ryouta, but, he still had his worries. "But... when Luke and Bellamy evolve, they'll be so much more stronger than me, right?" he asked. "Like, you said that a Super Ultimate level has so much power that they can blow up mountains..." he looked at his partners. "What am I meant to do when they're that strong?" he was suddenly worried. "What if I end up as a target for their enemies? I just don't understand".
There were so many different messages coming from Ryouta that Colin was just getting confused. "I mean... I can't fight with them in battle when nuclear attacks are being thrown around can I? Will I just end up being a burden for them?"
All of a sudden, Colin felt quite unimportant to the bigger picture. Why was Ryouta and Ryu acting like they were bonded so closely when Ryu could transform into a godlike being and all Ryouta could do was wave him goodbye as he entered the battlefield?
Unless there was more to it than that, of course.

"...At that time, the choice is in your hand. Granted, a lot have no idea what to do with the sudden acquisition of huge power," he told Colin. He too, was in that position before. He thought that he could live normally, but he guess that people started to somehow expect something out of him. He loves helping, but at times, he wonders if he could get away from all sort of responsibility that came with having this sort of strength?
"...Colin, when you get so strong, yeah, you'll get to the point that you're lost at what to do. That's why at that times I think helping around is fine... I mean, I'm currently training you, aren't I? I do this so both that my conscience is not burdened by thought of someone goes to Digital World unprepared and because what else can I do when I get this strong? Spread the positivity of course. Digital World might be scary, but not all Digimons are bad. There are also good Digimons, but more than not, Digimons are strong being that evolves out of necessity. Conflict happened left and right... If you want to help, help... everyone have the answer for what they hold the sort of power they hold."
He looked at Colin and pat his back.
"It felt like that at first, that's why Digimon needed to be close to their partner all the time, but when you get to super ultimate..."
Suddenly Ryu's form turned into Slayerdramon again. "Looks like I need to show you that form, eh?"
Ryouta brandished his digivice, raising it up, then swiping it in circular motion.
"UNISON! SHINKA!!"
The Digivice let out bright light that enveloped both Ryouta and Ryu, The dragon man turned into a ball of light that entered Ryouta, wrapping him in cocoon of light with his crest on the front. Before long, there stood Ryouta in assasin-like garb, with details of Slayerdramon.
"Welp, now you can see, right?" Ryouta asked. His bluish grey eyes now turned sky blue, While it almost looks like that he's just like a normal human, this is the 'Super Ultimate' form. "In this state I might looks like I'm still a normal human, but no, you can say that I'm both Digimon and not Digimon. Ryu is with me, I'm with Ryu, currently we're one and the same. This is what I mean with one soul and body."

Colin began to understand. “I see... yeah, I think that’s the right thing to do with power” he said. Using it to help others. “And thanks for helping me out with starting by the way” he added with a small smile.
Although what would he do when Luke and Bellamy were at that level of strength, he wondered. Would they still listen to him? Colin hoped they would, they seemed like good digimon. Although... he just didn’t know what would happen once they evolved and transformed. Would their personalities change too?
“I see...” he said, when Ryouta said the choice was his. “Sorry, it’s just... a whole lot of stuff to get used to”. Only now was Colin realizing the significance of the decision that he made – that he wanted to survive and be a good partner to his digimon rather than just “have fun”.
Then the “super ultimate” form was finally revealed. Colin stood back and watched as Ryouta and Ryu seemingly combined in a dazzling display of light. And when they became visible again, they were the one being.
“Oh my god...” Colin breathed, eyes wide with wonder. “That’s... amazing!”
“Freakin’ epic man!” Bellamy said, grinning. “So that’s what’s a Super Ultimate looks like!”
“Oh... cripes, that energy! It’s so strong!” Luke gasped, barely able to see without his eyes watering a little.
“So... this is how digimon reach Super Ultimate?” Colin asked. They... combine with their partners. So that’s why Ryouta and Ryu were so closely bonded. They could combine and become the same person. Slowly... he smiled.
“That’s... incredible!” he said. So that was the final goal. Bond enough with his digimon so they would fight together, in the truest form of the word. “Thank you for showing me this” the boy said, bowing his head a little. “I think I understand now”

"Eh, don't mention it," Ryouta said, smacking the boy's back. "It might be egoistical to me to say this, but in the end, all human do things that they find beneficial for them. I think what I'm doing at the moment gave me self satisfaction. Indeed, helping is a good deed, but in the end, I'm just doing this so that I felt good for helping people. Yeah, I might won't get thanks, or I'll get thanks like in your case, but I'm not glossing over it, it's for self satisfaction in the end."
He cannot deny that himself. It's just helping gave him nice amount of self satisfaction. Happiness that he accomplished something and helped someone for times to come.
"...Well, it's OK to get used to it slowly. You got all the time in the world. Remember... you three are not in this because you got chance in some sense or because you chose to be one. You three are bonded because you three are chosen at the same time. Your bond are eternal, you're irreplaceable for one another. One cannot be complete without the other two. That's what it means to be partners. Granted, you might have no choice in this matter, but you got choice to decide how your life would be from now on. That's what the most important. I say, if life gave you lime, why don't you just make all lime dish? It's not zombie apocalypse. Digimon can talk, can think, can interact. In the end, although your first and foremost is to survive and being the best partner your Digimon can get, you also need to have fun. Because that's what having adventure means."
Returning back to the appearance of Super Ultimate, Ryouta just grinned and raise a thumbs up. "You got loooong way until then, but for now, you need to build your foundation, OK?"
Ryouta did a swiping motion in front of his chest, and immediately, he becomes Ryu and Ryouta again.
"There you go~"

“I see” Colin said, smiling as Ryouta patted his back. “But I always think it’s a good thing if you feel happy with yourself for helping out someone. That way, everyone gets something good out of the deal”. Good deeds that didn’t require any sacrifice were the best, so Colin thought. And he was really appreciative for Ryouta taking the time to explain all this and help him and his partners out.
Luke and Bellamy meanwhile paid attention when it was said that the three of them were bonded eternally. Not just with each other as twins, but them to their partner. Luke mulled a little in his thoughts as to why this was, but Bellamy looked away with a little bit of guilt as the Yaamon remembered something.
The last memories he had of what his former life was.
It wouldn’t be like that anymore though, not now that they had a partner to help take care of them, and stop Bellamy from doing anything stupid like that ever again. However, as long as Luke didn’t remember, he saw no reason why to bring it all back down on him. Not unless he asked of course, then he would tell the truth to his brother.
Colin meanwhile had to grin at that saying. “Heh, I think it goes ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’” he said. “Although I do like Limes better” he felt the need to add. But he nodded with understanding, he would make the best of his new life with digimon. They were more than pets, they would become his friends, even protectors.
He nodded as he saw the Super Ultimate form of Ryu and Ryouta say that he had a long way to go. “Okay” he said. “But... at least we’ve got a good start, thanks to you guys”

"Hey, if I don't feel happy helping people, I won't help people. I'd probably do something else, screwing them maybe? But I'm the type whose heart bleeds too much I guess... I can't really harm people without clear reason. Anyway!" he looked at the twins. Looks like they finally able to synergize with each other well. He laughed when Colin corrected him, but stuck his tongue out. "I can say whatever I want about it, nyeh."
Once the biomerge is undone, he returned Ryu to his normal Dracomon form. "Now, Colin, let's see... Ryu, you go ahead and train them more... as for you, you're coming with me, Colin. I'll show you some technique that would be handy for survival. We'll start with foraging, then return here, we'll cook, and then we'll review our lesson. You can decide your own training menu. Sounds good?"

Colin chuckled when Ryouta dismissed his correction. "Heh, okay" he said. He supposed if he attempted a Japanese saying that Ryouta would correct it with enthusiasm, which was only fair.
Then it seemed their training would continue. Ryu would train the twins while Colin would be taught how to forage. However, for some reason, the in-training levels looked a little uncomfortable somehow.
"Hey guys, what's wrong?" Colin asked, walking up to Luke and Bellamy and kneeling down, a little concerned by the distress they had on their faces.
"Hey Colin..." Luke said, hesitantly. "We're really hungry. Can we please have a break and have something to eat?"
Colin saw no reason to deny them. The twins had been working really hard and Luke did ask him this nicely. But... he didn't have any food on his person to offer them. With that, the boy turned to Ryouta.
"Hey, Ryouta, can we have a bit of a snack break first?" he asked. "And, uh, do you have any food they could eat?"
Colin didn't doubt that his mentor for the day had food available, this campsite was already fairly well equipped. Indeed, with the load that Ryouta was carrying, he could have easily brought in an artillery cannon for defense of their training field. But Colin was taught by his parents never to presume things of other people, always to ask what was needed when it was needed.

Hmmm, indeed, the baby stages does indeed have to eat a lot... and by lot, he means REALLY LOT. He guessed it's only fair for them to stop for now and eat. That way even if they're attacked later, it'll be fine because the Digimon are full already. Ryouta smiled and gestured them to come with him. In front of the tent, he took out several packs of instant rice, some curry blocks, some vegetables and some frozen meats. He seem also took some other vegetables, self made mayonnaise and mashed potato. As addition, he told Ryu to get something fresh, the Digimon returned fifteen minutes later with five sizeable fish and a full bucket of water. He quickly begin his work.
"By the way, Digimons, especially that young can be REALLY hungry, so I'll start with the easiest first." he followed the instruction on the instant rice package and let it simmer down before doing the curry. After seeing that it's just need to be stirred, he called Colin over. "Please stir this until it's thick enough... and as for me..." he cut the veggies to make salad, then wrapped some decently sized chicken meat with mashed potato (of course he already put some seasoning there) and told Ryu to grill it after covering it with aluminium foil layer, which the Dracomon happily obliges. He moves to the fish, without hesitation starting to clean it from the scales and took out the organ, then smears it with seasoning and grill it beside the potato. In about thirty minutes, he's done.
"Well, today's menu is Beef Curry (mild), Potato Wrapped Turkey Salad with Homemade Mayo and Oriental Grilled Fish. Hope you like it!"
Of course he made about five serving of them all. "Cooking in Digital World is important. Maybe if tomorrow we're still OK, I'll teach you how to cook if you can't."

The digimon were grateful when their request for food was acknowledged. They watched excitedly as the food and water was prepared in front of them.
"Thanks guys, of course we'd help, but... yeah" said Bellamy, the Yaamon wiggling his ears. "Can't stir much with these, sorry"
"That's okay" said Colin, and helped with the preparation of the food, following Ryouta's instructions. So, baby digimon needed a lot of food. Colin hoped that they wouldn't need too much, since when they were at home he'd need to smuggle it into his room to feed them. His parents would definitely noticed if the amoung was excessive.
In all, it took about 30 minutes to cook. Colin stirred the curry until it was thick enough. All the while, Luke and Bellamy watched with increasingly pained expressions.
"Oh man I can't take it anymore!" Bellamy whined as the smell of delicious curry wafted over to him. "Come onnn!"
"It's okay, guys, I promise you will eat soon" Colin said to them. And finally, the meals were ready. Bellamy pounced on his plate before it was even on the ground, and both he and Luke emptied their crockery in under two minutes.
"Umm... you probably shouldn't have done that, guys" said Colin, not even halfway through his own meal, looking a bit nervous.
When the digimon finished, both of them looked kind of woozy. Colin was worried that they were going to be sick... when all of a sudden, he heard a beeping noise coming from his pocket. He reached into it, and saw that the screen of his digivice was lit. However, there were no words on it.
"What's... going on?" he asked. Then all of a sudden, it began to speak.
"Initializing Evolution: Child Level" it said in a curt, artificial voice. And to Colin's surprise, both Luke and Bellamy glowed white.
Their physical bodies changed rapidly. It was as though bodies had suddenly grown from underneath their heads, although it was so bright that Colin couldn't see properly. He looked away as it dazzled him, but looked back excitedly as it began to fade. Eventually, two new digimon stood in front of him.
Bellamy was now a two legged purple devil-cat-like creature. Covered in velvety fur, with white on his face; wearing a red scarf with matching red gloves; a long barbed tail flicking contentedly; and sharp green eyes looking up at him. There appeared to be a grinning yellow emoji on his chest as well. He stood at just around four feet tall.
Luke meanwhile appeared to be a rabbit-like creature. His fur was red with white on his belly and blue stripes on his back, face and legs. He also stood on two feet, around nine inches shorter than his brother. His eyes were bright and blue, and he was wearing a blue scarf around his neck. His most prominent feature were nine feather-like tails on his behind.
Colin used the scanning function of his digivice, curious as to what digimon they were.
"Impmon. Child level. A spellcaster digimon with the ability to use Fire and Ice magic attacks. He is a devilish little scamp that will probably set fire to your underwear if you mistreat him".
"Elecmon. Child level. A beast-type digimon with the ability to use electric attacks from his supercharged tails. Using his rear end to charge electronic appliances is not advised".
"So... Impmon and Elecmon now, eh?" Colin asked the twins. "Hey guys... how do you feel to be Child levels now?" he asked, kneeling down so that he was at eye level with them.
"I... I have arms now" Bellamy said, looking at his limbs. Just like he remembered. Three fingered talons underneath red cloth gloves. He moved each finger one by one, staring at them in an almost entranced state.
"Welp, I know the first thing I'm gonna do with these new paws of mine" Luke said, wiggling his claws excitedly.
"Geez, Luke, not in front of the kid" Bellamy said, grinning at him. Luke glared back.
"I mean this!" Luke said, and gave his hip a long, satisfying scratch. He had an itch there for hours and now he finally had the means to solve it.
Bellamy grinned as he saw Luke in his Elecmon form again, just as he remembered, looking like he did on the day they first met. Only... there was something different. Luke was wearing a scarf just like his, only it was blue in colour. Was... was this a part of their shared data?
But Bellamy's thoughts didn't linger on this for long. Instead, seeing Luke in his Elecmon form again... remembering what had happened in the past, it was all too much. The mistakes Bellamy had done, the horrors that had happened as a consequence, it hurt so badly. The only thing he felt he could do was put his arms around his brother, hugging him warmly. And so he did.
"Heh... what's this for Bellamy?" Luke asked, grinning uncertainly as the Impmon held him tightly. This uncertainty changed to concern as he saw that tears were dripping from Bellamy's eyes. "Bellamy?" he asked, gently.
"Luke..." Bellamy murmured, sniffing. "I'm so, so sorry, for everything that happened"
Now Luke was just confused. "What happened?" he asked. Bellamy let go of his hug and looked at him, a little sadly.
"Y-you don't remember?" he asked. Luke tilted his head with confusion. "Well... okay. I'll... tell you later" his ears drooped guiltily, realizing that his choice of words made it inevitable that he should tell his brother of the horrors of the last moments of their previous lives.
Colin meanwhile was watching this reunion with curiosity. He maintained a respectful silence, however, because it seemed to be a personal matter for his partners, and he felt that butting in would be rude. Eventually, Bellamy let go, seemingly recovering his composure.
"Okay, enough with the waterworks there, Luke, we're here for training, not blubbering!" Bellamy said, putting his hands on his hips. Luke raised an eyebrow at his obvious attempt at deflection. "So then, what were we doing again before that little interlude?" he asked the onlookers in general. "Also do one of you guys have a mirror on you? I gotta check that everything's in the right spot! The Impster's got a lot riding on his looks ya know!"

"Heh, it's OK. I know when I should whip out the food. Don't worry about not helping. When both of your parents are busy and you need to feed three brothers and sisters, your ability as cook naturally increases and you can cook for five people just fine..." he trailed off and suddenly his expression darkened. I always thought that I'm ready to sever the bond with my family when Digital World is too dangerous for me to even return home, but.. who knew that mentioning my little siblings already made me almost choke? Sorry Colin... I sorta treated you like a little brother that I don't know where he is at the moment.
Ryouta watched as the twin apparently evolves and seem to nods happily at their newfound power... although he silently respects what happened in their past life. Jeanne was like that too... and he still don't understand why Digimon with past lives are appearing left and right... Ryu is not like that, but...
"Looks like your partners got past life, Colin," Ryouta whispered. "They're a bit rare because generally upon death, Digimons did not retain their memories of their past life. It's generally deleted... but hey, I know a Digimon that somehow retains their past life. Probably... it's some sort of great regret. That's why you need to make sure that doesn't happen for the second time."
Ryu looked at them with a complicated expression, but this time decides to continue with the topic of training. "Congrats for your evolution! I know that you can do it! By the way, I don't have any mirror but I sure can make your training more interesting so that you can see for yourself how strong you are now! Aniki, do we have any flour bags?"
"Sure do!"
Ryu put about four sacks, two at the fourth step logs and another two at seventh.
"...now guys, I said you need to jump zigzagging, right? Now you need to repeat that... and don't step on the bag no matter what. Can you do it?"
Meanwhile Ryouta stood up and looked at Colin.
"Well then, Colin, why don't we take a walk to the forest to forage? I'll teach you all that's poisonous and edible... then after the Digimon done with the training, they'll join us to fish for the day."

Colin was kind of interested to hear that Ryouta had a big family. "Really?" he asked. "Wow, that's a lot. I just have a brother and sister. They're both older than me though"
"What's it like havin' a sister?" Bellamy asked, curiously.
"Eh, she's alright. She can be kinda protective of me, but being busy with her last year in high school has her distracted enough" Colin said, smiling. He did feel fairly happy that his big sister looked out for him though. While when she went too far, she annoyed him, but he remembered her advice well in the moments that he needed it.
Colin noticed that Ryouta seemed a little uncomfortable with this subject, so he didn't say anymore on the matter.
When Luke and Bellamy evolved, Ryouta said that it looks like they had a past life. Colin was confused by this.
"Past life...?" he asked, then listened as it was explained that when digimon die, they lose their memories. "So... digimon come back to life after they die, right?" he asked his partners.
"Yeah... well... in most cases" Luke said, carefully. "Dead digimon just shatter into data, but we get re-configured and appear as eggs again, then we hatch out of it and start new lives"
"Wow... so... it's a kind of immortality is it?" Colin asked, eyes flicking between the two. Although he heard the last part of Ryouta's explanation, that if a digimon remembers something, it's usually because of a deep regret. And Bellamy was still sniffling from the tears he had just shed, looking very uncomfortable.
'Poor guy looks like he has regrets alright' Colin thought, but chose not to press him on the matter. Especially when he was putting up such a brave front, saying that he wanted to get right back into training. And thankfully Ryu provided a distraction - an increase in difficulty with their log jumping challenge.
"Heh, piece of cake!" Bellamy said, grinning as he jumped up onto the first log. "In fact we should make a cake later with this flour to celebrate our digivolution, haha!"
"We can jump on four feet can we?" Luke asked, the Elecmon standing on his log uncertainly. "I, uh, kind of can't jump well on two legs"
He decided to do so anyway. Bellamy enthusiastically skipped and zig-zagged across the logs, taking care to do a high jump over the first flour bag. Luke caught up with him for the most part, making long jumps on all fours. Both of them were going pretty fine, until Bellamy decided to show off and attempt a somersault over the second bag of flour... which he misjudged and fell off, landing on his butt on the ground.
"You saw nothing!" he snapped, pointing to whoever was watching. "I saw you, Colin, don't pretend you didn't just look away!"
"...are you okay, Bellamy?" Colin asked with concern, deciding not to hide it.
"Eh, I've had worse" Bellamy said, rubbing his rear. Colin believed that. "Anyway, I'll try again!"
While they were doing that, Ryouta said that Colin could help him forage, and he'd educate him a little about survival skills. Colin nodded enthusiastically. "Sure!" he said, happy to go along.

"Ahhhh, being the youngest..." Ryouta commented, smiling slightly. "We're kinda polar then because I'm the oldest in my family. Still, because we're polar, I can tell you lot about what your elder sibling might be thinking, but otherwise I can't really say much about siblinghood or agrees with most of your 'elder sibling sucks' moment heh..."
...though apparently his whisper apparently not obvious enough to Colin that he doesn't really want to talk about it in front of the twins all that much... He let Luke do the explanation, but add his own. "How to say, this is a strange topic to talk about, but my digimon friend sums it this way: Can you call someone who lost most of their memories or identity of what make them 'them' the same person? I think you can't really say it's the same person unless the core is the same... the personality, and most of the memories, that is... so in the end, it's not really 'immortality'. However, apparently our partners in their defense are always the same unless that 'core' is destroyed... so if it's our partners, that's... immortality yeah."
The training continued. Bellamy's showoff nature become much more apparent and bad... Ryu decided that he need to fix this quickly. "Hmmm... i'll be adding more flour sacks then," he said, doubling the stack on the logs. "Now, next time any of you failed, I'll give you both some time out in some manner." he need both of them to cooperate, and think of this as a real training although it's harmless.
Ryouta decides to guide Colin to the forest and take his time telling him about whatever available here.
"Look, Colin. This one is digishroom. It's the most common food you can get in forests like this. It's not too filling for the stomach though, but you can get a lot of them easily. I suggest to make 1/4 of your digishroom finding into some fish bait."
Then he pointed at a particularly bright yellow mushroom
"That one is happyshroom. If you ask me, that can make you... 'happy' but 'sick' if you eat it, so don't... Speaking of which, what do you think about the training so far?"

Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Nov 9, 2016 3:26:05 GMT
Colin took in this explanation, although he didn't really understand all of it.
"So... are you the same digimon as you were before?" he asked his partners.
"Well... not entirely the same" Bellamy said, calmly. "Like, we only gave ourselves names after we hatched because we wanted to start anew. And..." he sighed. "Colin, I don't really want to talk about my past life at the moment, thanks"
"Oh, okay" Colin said. He knew Bellamy was real on this, he had never heard him speak so seriously before. "I'm really sorry, I didn't know it was so bad for you"
"It's fine, buddy" Bellamy said, smiling up at him.
As the training continued, Bellamy was somewhat outraged that Ryu decided to make it harder. "Hey! Who the hell do you think you are, dragon-boy?! What's the big idea?!"
"What's wrong, Bellamy?" Luke asked, giving a sly sort of grin. "Is it too hard for you now?"
"I'll show you hard!" Bellamy snapped, then suddenly realized what he had just said. "...wow that came out so wrong". Luke giggled a little.
"So then, do you think you can still do it in sync with me? Or are you too much of a digipussy... cat?" Luke asked. Bellamy gave a competitive scowl back.
"Just you watch, bunny-boy, we'll be so much in sync that we'll be one step away from jogressing!"
"Alright, but if we do, b-be gentle s-senpai, this would be my first time jogressing..." Luke said, mocking innocence. Bellamy gave a derisive laugh at this. But before long, the digimon were carefully jumping across the logs, getting faster and more accurate each time.
Colin meanwhile was paying attention to the lesson on mushrooms. Apparently they were basic as food, but apparently they could be used as fishing bait for even better food.
"Huh, okay, that's pretty nifty to know" he said. "There are fish in the digital world right, they're not digimon?" he thought he'd best ask that.
Then Ryouta pointed out a 'happy' mushroom, which Colin interpreted as 'one that would probably get him arrested back on Earth', so he nodded. Then Ryouta asked if he liked his training so far.
"It's awesome, thanks" Colin said, smiling. "I think I've learned more today than I have all year in school" he chuckled.

"Your trainer~" Ryu said, seem to not minding Bellamy's tone at all, but for some reason, his voice turned sneering next. "Honestly, here I thought it's so easy, but you thought it's hard huh? Well, I guess it's to be expected for someone who fell on their back for their little stunt?"
Of course to the onlooker who have their blood rushing to their head, this sounds very much like mocking. However, to those who are calm, they would sense tinge of playfulness and at the same time nervousness. Sign of someone who never did it at least once and only did it from mimicking someone. He however, looks happy when the two is being better in this sort of job. Now...
"Well, here... next, you should take some break, then spar with one another. Don't ask me "why", but ask yourself why you should do it. No, I'm not saying go all out. Hold back if you please, but remember, treat it as a real practice. I don't mind if you hit the ground, but do not hesitate when attacking, even if you meant it to be miss. Yeah, you heard that right. You don't have to attack each other directly. It can be miss, but do not hesitate."
Meanwhile, to Ryouta's side...
"Honestly, I don't even have an idea what to call them. I guess you can call them 'Digital Lifeform'. They're like... how to say this? They're not Digimon probably because they're not... well, they're not able to think of their own other than their basic instinct. They're like... animals, I guess? So they're foods to Digimons."
Seeing that Colin is happy, Ryouta also smiled and ruffled his head.
"Many of that to come, and next time you should experience them yourselves! This is just the 101!"

Bellamy's temple throbbed as Dracomon sneered at his misfortune. "Just... watch it" he said through clenched teeth. Nothing good would come from him losing his temper. Instead, he'll surpass this guy one day. And with his brother and partner, he felt like he could actually do it.
Their next task, after a break it seemed, would be to spar against one another. Immediately, Bellamy felt scared about this.
"But..." he looked at Luke. "I don't wanna hurt him" he said, quietly. He had only attacked Luke once in his previous life, back when he was still a delinquent thieving sack of crap. And he never wanted to do it again.
But the Elecmon smiled and walked up to him, gripping his shoulder. "It's okay, brother" he said. "If we learn how to battle each other, we can work better together. Do you understand? We'd know how to cover each other's weaknesses, we'd know how we'd move" he smiled. "And don't worry, I'll only use little thunderbolts on ya. The worst you'd feel is like getting a bit of a static shock, heh heh. But it might make your fur stand on end"
"Hmph" Bellamy said, but he didn't mean to scoff, he was smiling. "Alright, Luke, ya've convinced me" he bared his teeth in a competitive way. "And in return, I guess I'll dial down the heat in my fireballs, but you'd still best dodge 'em"
Colin meanwhile listened to Ryouta's explanation on digital fish. "Ohh, I see. I guess like, even though there's a big variety of digimon in the world, there's still lesser lifeforms?" he asked. "I guess that makes sense. Are there other sources of meat too? Like... um... chicken and beef?" he asked curiously.
He laughed and faked objection when Ryouta ruffled his hair. "Yeah, I'm actually really looking forward to it" he said, kind of excited to be going on adventures with his digimon partners. Of course, there were dangers and he would not put his own or his partners' lives at risk, but, he really looked forward to this. A whole world to explore, it was just brilliant.
