"Well... isn't this unlike you?"
Luke's comment came with a chuckle on what many tamers would consider a normal outing in Mainframe Hills. With huge, clear sight-lines and the area being a heavy trading route, it was considered one of the safest places in the Digital World to rough it. And as Luke tapped another stake into the ground, a tent quickly taking shape, his partner (who was setting up the other end) gave a twitch of the ear. "Hm? What's unlike me?"
"Oh, come on. As long as I've traveled with you, we've never stayed outside of a hotel or a Trailmon. Look," Luke pointed, "The sales tag is still on this thing." Tearing that away and shoving it into his pocket, he gave a shrug. The wolf-man across from him gave a chuckle. "Well excuse me for being spoiled from your dorm, then. I just don't like hanging out on dirt... but..."
"Yeah, yeah, town's still two hours away, I got that. Alright, this looks good." Stomping the last spike into place, Luke took a step back. For a first time, this didn't look too bad! "Well, I guess all that time pulling this thing around wasn't a complete waste!"
"If you say so." The wolf shrugged, peering briefly inside. "Well, we got a little bit of time to kill. We can... um..." Iko blinked. And, after a moment, rested his chin in his palm. "Let's see.... um... we..."
"... Helpless, I swear." Luke shook his head, hiding a small grin.

Marshal and Coronamon had had a very long day. Between that incident at the Village of Beginnings, and helping their new friend Ryouta at Snowflake Village, the two of them were pretty exhausted. "So...hungry..." Marshal groaned.
"Can't...take...another step..." Coronamon grunted, fatigue dripping from his voice. The two of them passed out right in front of a nearby tent.

It had been some time later, Iko catching some shut-eye inside the tent, while Luke remained outside, setting up a sitting area outside. And just as the second rock fell into place, Luke stood, stretching his back, to see...
A tamer and his Digimon collapsed just outside! "Tch... Iko!"
"Hm?" His head stuck out of the tent. "What is it- ... oh, for Pete's sake..."
As Iko kept watch over the two, a few moments later, Luke returned to the scene with a bottle of water in hand. "You sure this is the best way-"
"Oh, can it. Just use it on the kid."
Luke sighed. Pulling off the cap, he would proceed to toss the whole lot of water right over Marshal's head, to at least shock him out of his fatigue! As for the other one, well... Fire and Water never tended to mix well on a campsite.

Marshal was suddenly jolted awake by a splash of water on his face. Startled, he jumped up, ready to fight. Not that he would be able to do much without Coronamon. Scanning around him quickly, he noticed two human figures. One was decidedly more wolf-like than the other. He noticed the one guy holding a water bottle and his face started to turn a bit red.
"Hey!" he spat. "Don't you know it's rude to interrupt someone who's napping?" Suddenly, he felt another wave of fatigue rush over him, and he fell over on his butt, nearly half asleep again.

At the very least, Iko and Luke were both standing some distance away from the pair... which was good, as at first glance, it looked like Marshal was going to lunge at one of them in the shock! This soon fell to mere annoyance, and then fatigue, as this newcomer quickly took stock of the situation.
Luke was concerned. Iko, however, was annoyed: he gave a scoff, waving a hand over his shoulder as he turned away. "And don't you know its dangerous to keep someone sleeping like that? Sheesh." He took a seat next to the fire pit, head rested on his palm.
"..." With a sigh, Luke reached into his bag, and pulled a few energy bars and a spare water bottle, offering them both to Marshal. "Might as well stay off your feet, for now. How's that lil' guy?" Luke gave a glance at the Coronamon.

Marshal's head was still spinning, but he was able to take in his surroundings a little better. He accepted the nourishment from the stranger and looked over at Coronamon. "He'll be okay," Marshal assured them. "We've just...had a long day." He turned to look at the other guy. "I'm Marshal North, by the way, and this is my partner, Coronamon."

A long day? Well, that much was clear! Still, Luke kept at least a neutral expression on his face, giving a nod. At the very least, these two didn't seem to be anything other than 'very tired'. And honestly, it wasn't Luke's business what the two of them were doing way out here.
"Heh... I'm Luke, and that's Iko." Luke pointed over his shoulder, Iko responding with just a shrug. He looked over at the two, and just sighed. "Well, get yourselves hydrated, at least. Must have been something rough to have you both this far outside your schedule. What, just trying to get back to Terminus?"

"You could say that," Marshal muttered, not sure if he should tell the duo what was going on. He figured it wouldn't be too much of a bad thing to let everyone know what he had seen at the Village of Beginnings. "We ran into a strange Digimon at the Village of Beginnings, trailed him all the way to Snowflake Village, and were trying to get back to Terminus."
Meanwhile, Coronamon started to wake up slowly. "Ugh, my head..." he muttered, eyes still shut tightly.

'A strange Digimon'. Wait, weren't all Digimon kind of strange to begin with? Mulling that thought over, Luke decided to let it off with a shrug. Still: "Wait, you've been following along for half the continent? That's a few hours by Trailmon, let alone on foot... you must have pushed Coronamon to his limit!"
"Oh, please, we've dealt with worse... we were in that Network Plains mess, after all." Seeing the Coronamon start to stir, Iko kept one eye on the rookie, giving a chuckle. "Well, good morning, there. Wanna jump at us just like your tamer did?"
"Iko... please, just let it go..."

"Like I said, it's been a long day," Marshal said, blushing lightly. He didn't mean to push himself and Coronamon so hard, but it seemed like there was no other choice. "We're still not sure who that Digimon was, or what he was doing to the eggs there, but we're still investigating."
Coronamon woke up to some other guy's Digimon berating him and Marshal. "Well," he said curtly, giving a light smirk, "I don't believe in violence for the sake of it, but if my Tamer jumped at you out of instinct there must have been a good reason for it."
"Coronamon!" Marshal shouted sternly. He didn't want there to be trouble, considering Luke had been quite hospitable to them.

Huh... something about Digi-eggs, then? As much as Luke wanted to pry and get a little more information than that, it didn't look like they would be continuing this conversation anytime soon. After all, Coronamon had quite readily taken Iko's bait, both Digimon acting on their own at this point.
As for Iko? He just smirked. "Well, looks like you've gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. What, a tamer and his Digimon can't set up camp out here?" His words were said in a more joking tone than one might imply, Iko stepping up and looking over at the fire Digimon. "Or maybe you got somethin' against the Dark Area?"
"And there he goes... just trying to get on his nerves..."

It was not very often that Coronamon acted outside of Marshal's wishes for his behavior, but this Digimon was really starting to get on his nerves. "Not at all," he muttered, "but I do have something against smartasses."
Marshal was in shock. Where had Coronamon even learned how to talk like that? He had completely lost control of his Digimon, something that had never happened before. "I'm so sorry," he stammered to Luke. "He's not usually like this, I swear!"

"Ah, really? So how many mirrors have you broken in the past month, then?" It looked like Coronamon had fallen right into Iko's pace: Luke's partner had an issue with unfamiliar faces as it was, and with the fire Digimon so willfully egging him on, Iko just kept on it. Really, to him, it looked like the little guy was about ready to pop! "Not even a 'thanks for keepin' us from bein' dragged off by monsters', really? C'mon, what have I done to you?"
"... Yeah, Marshal, gonna have to say the same here." He sighed, watching Coronamon and Iko trade verbal jabs and stare the occasional dagger into the other's eyes. "But once Iko gets going like this... oi..."

That was enough for Coronamon, who started to envelop himself in a Corona Cloak to possibly intimidate Iko. Not that it would do much against a Champion.
"Shit," Marshal swore under his breath. Unsure of what to do, he grabbed his Digivice and cards. He looked sheepishly at Iko. "Sorry, man, I just don't want my partner to get hurt." If a fight was about to break out, Marshal would surely have to give Coronamon a little help.

"Hm? Oh, now we're getting hot-headed? Sheesh..."
Coronamon wanted to play with fire? Iko could play with fire! Fanning out his right hand, black fire danced from Iko's palm, before he clenched it back into a fist, dissipating the heat. And, as he heard Marshal's words, the wolf just chuckled. "What, he really want to go? That's fine by me, but..." Smirking, he kicked away from the log he was sitting on, moving further from the campsite. There was no need to draw fire towards the tents, after all! Staying some distance back, he raised a finger, egging the Coronamon to approach.
"Hmph. Don't worry, Iko only puts about as much as his opponents give him. At least, for stuff like this, anyway." Luke sighed. "But with that smile on his face? Well, he wants at least a little bit of a fight."
