A Light in the Depths [Hunt] (Alicia/Maia/Mitsuko)

“… Do you guys hate me or something…?” Alicia, currently in her Mercurialdramon form, asked her two spirits, who had chosen to materialize at her sides. She was really wondering if someone just had it out for her as she stared at the mouth of the cavern that her D-Scanner was pointing her towards. Why did she seem to have some of the hardest hunts to do? There was probably someone who had it at least as bad as she did though. Still…
”Kid…? We have no control over where the totems end up. Trust me we wouldn’t have made things this rough for you if we did.” Sol commented, shaking his head. This was going to be a real mess no matter how anyone looked at it.
“Kisara had one of my light-side spirits in the tundra a while back.” The Spirit Wielder shot back with a sigh. The ice maiden in turn looked away at that, whistling a bit. She didn’t want to have the spotlight on her right now. “At least we’ve got some support coming in.” Alicia mused, thinking back to the text she sent Maia after dropping Mitsuko off to change into something more fitting for the arctic weather they were going into.
Maia! Hope you’re doing well when you read this. I hate to be a bother but a Spirit popped up and I’ve got a new Tamer here who’s insisted on coming along. Any chance you could come to for some extra support? Two sets of eyes are better than one after all. I tried to talk her out of it but she and her partner were adamant. Hope to see you soon. – Alicia
”Well, here’s hoping for the best, huh?” Kisara noted with a tilt of her head.

After reading her text, with a hovering Kudamon, it was impossible to refuse the request. Even if Maia had wanted to say no, Kuu was too busy cheering about their new adventure to stop him. So, not wanting to cause a fuss, the tamer had to go along with it. Though, for Alicia, she probably wouldn't have said no, anyway.
Sure. We'll meet you thereHAIALFFIICIA
Clearly, the last part was not supposed to be sent, but Kuu had really wanted to be a part of that message. Ah well. Maia wasn't even going to bother trying to explain the text, as her Digimon's tongue hung dangerously close to her phone. She could only imagine that the logic behind this was, if his paws couldn't type, his tongue had to be able to! Now, if only the tamer had invested in a waterproof case for her poor cell phone.
Wrapping up in a long, blue jacket, with a scarf and mittens, the girl shoved her Kudamon into one of her pockets, and proceeded to the train station. She probably should have thought the attire through, as far as getting to the Digital World mattered, considering the weird stares that she received, but it didn't matter at this point.
In the Digital World, Kuu turned to his maned, Champion form, and provided a little extra warmth for the human on their trip to the caverns. And, after what felt like a horrendously long ride that included detaching a certain Champion's tongue from a random pole, Maia could see figures come into view. Oh, thank goodness.
"Hey. Sorry for the wait." Eyes flashed to her Digimon again, who pitifully stuck his tongue out, while looking to the side. "I'm sure you can imagine how difficult it is to keep Kuu on-task."

As Mitsuko walked through the icy tundra, her conversation with the spirit user came into her mind. She wondered if this was truly too dangerous. The silverette adjusted her hat and scarf, then turned her attention to her bag. Tokomon's eyes peered out at her. He has wrapped himself into the extra blankets Mitsuko had packed. "Are you okay?" She inquired, as she slowly kept going towards their destined meeting place. Her breath came out in warm clouds, contrasting the cold climate.
Tokomon nodded his head, "Yeah, let's just get to the others soon before I become a Digicicle!" Mitsuko smiled, closing her bag. She was glad for the warm clothes. Her dress would NOT have made this journey. Checking her Digivice, she realized she was almost there! The musician was walking down the slope when she hit a patch of ice. She tried to regain her balance but it was too late...
Falling upon her behind, she gave out a yelp that turned into a minor scream. She was flying down the slope like a sled ride... without the sled. They were speeding down the hill, towards the others. Until they hit a small bump in their path, for a brief instant they were weightless...
Until they crashed back upon the ground. Mitsuko saw the blanketed digimon fly out of her bag. When they came to a stop, Mitsuko was flat on her back between the two girls. Tokomon had unraveled his blanket cocoon, giggling as he hopped back towards Mitsuko. "That was FUN!" He giggled as she slowly sat up, embarrassment flooding her face.
She quickly scooped up the blanket and her partner, standing up gracefully. Tokomon turned his head looking at Mitsuko. "Can we do that again?!" Mitsuko felt herself blush more, as she shook her head."That wasn't intentional you know." Giving her partner a playful noogie. "Ice just doesn't exactly help bring coordinated." She said to the group, as she gave them a small smile. "Sorry I'm late." She hoped the other girls would forgive her less than graceful enterence...

Snickering a bit at the thought of Kuu’s attempt at texting, Alicia waved to Maia and Kuu as they arrived. “Yo. No worries, I hadn’t been waiting long. I’ve got these two keeping me company while I’m waiting anyways.” Alicia returned with a smirk, looking at Sol and Kisara. The two spirits acknowledged Maia and Kuu’s presence in their own ways, Kisara waving and Sol just nodding his head toward them.
”Now we just need Mi-“ Kisara smirked as she trailed off and said silverette came sliding in screaming her poor head off while Tokomon went flying into a snow bank. ”Nevermind, there they are.” Either she was smirking because she knew where they were… or she was being mischievous again. With her it was impossible to be sure.
Still… as Alicia was snickering to contain her laughter, an opportunity presented itself. Sol looked over and shook his head. ”Kid, no.” he said simply. Alicia just smirked bigger. ”Kid…? Hey! Not the time!” Alicia was ignoring him this time, looking to Mitsuko.
“Ice to see you again, Mitsuko.” The mercury dragon quipped with a smirk “Don’t worry, silly things are just as common as serious things in the Digital World. I’m sure one of us will slip up sooner or later.”
Sol groaned, rolling his eyes. ”Alicia… really?” he deadpanned.

The tamer blinked a few times, while looking between the two that were with Alicia already. Raising a mitten-covered hand, she seemed to point between them, "so, uh, who-"
It seemed that the question would have to wait, as a scream caught the teen's attention. Turning, Maia got to watch the poor girl slide in. Almost immediately, Kuu chirped, "I wish we could have had an entrance like that!"
"Well, if someone hadn't licked a metal pole," the girl began, in a hushed tone, but shook her head. "Still probably wouldn't happen." Though, maybe that was just a sliver of the tamer's pride managing to stay in tact. After all, slipping on ice wasn't something that would be particularly out of character for her! But, now the puns hit Maia ears, and the thought of bickering with her Digimon went completely out the window. Instead, mittens lifted to cover the grin that was spreading across frozen lips. "Heh," managed out of the fabric of the mittens, followed by several failed attempts to stifle the laughter.
Ah well. Mitsuko was surely going to learn Maia's weakness eventually anyway. The blonde gave up, simply burying hysterical laughter into her mittens.
In the meantime, the Reppamon was letting out a progressively louder groan, before finally falling onto his side. Into the snow. Almost immediately, the Digimon let out a panicked shriek, hopping to his feet and rapidly shaking his body. "Ah! Cold-Cold! Why the puns? Why the snow?" The maned Champion was flailing about, occasionally lifting his front paws off the ground in some attempt to keep out of the snow, but obviously failing. Losing footing, the poor Digimon found himself stumbling backwards. With an unpleasant whine, Kuu found himself sitting in the fluffy, cold substance. "Nooo! Bad times! Bad times!" It seemed that Kuu just couldn't catch a break today!

Mitsuko turned to Alicia, rolling her eyes in a playful gesture. Tokomon however giggled, "Haha, she's rather punny." Turning to his tamer. "Get it? Punny? Haha!" Mitsuko hung her head in defeat, grumbling something about Tokomon getting shoved into the nearest snow bank.
Mitsuko turned to Maia, "Hello. I'm Mitsuko Kaioh." She bowed respectfully, her silver mane of hair framed her face. "This little guy is my partner To-" Tokomon squirmed, cutting in "Hiya, I'm Tokomon! Pleased to meet you!" Before she knew what was happening Tokomon leapt from her arms, landing upon Alicia's back.
Tokomon squealed with delight as he bounced up and down. "Weee, bouncy bouncy, yay! Haha." To say Mitsuko was mortified, was an understatement. Slowly she felt her face turn a slight rose color. Great. This was their first outting, and Tokomon couldn't keep composure. No wonder Alicia was worried.

Alicia blinked a bit, realizing Maia had never seen her spirit advisers before. Oh, right that was a thing. “Oh, uh, I suppose lots of introductions are in order. Maia! Remember when we first met? I was talking with someone you couldn’t see?” The mercurial dragon patted her armored counterpart, chuckling nervously. “This would be him and his name’s Sol. Yes, him. Don’t ask how that works.” Looking over at the ice maiden, Alicia sighed softly. “Miss Queen of Mischief here on the other claw is Kisara.” And that mini pun slipped out without her even thinking about it.
”So glad to finally meet you in person, Maia! I’ve been hearing so much about you and Kuu and it’s a pleasure.” Kisara quipped, and then grinned, ”By the way have you k-“ And suddenly Alicia bashed Kisara into the tunnel they were standing before, the spirit yelping as she tumbled.
“Really Kisara!? Go be the shipper on deck somewhere else! Or at least put a lid on it until after the hunt! Or don’t rush them those things are sensitive topics!” The Mercurialdramon yelled down after her, huffing. And then her liquid body was being used as a trampoline, making her entire body ripple as she was caught off guard. Including simulated organs like her eyes. Her vision went ballistic on her and she shook her head in response. “Ah! Stop that, Tokomon! I’m getting dizzy!”
Sol sighed and shook his head. ”Long story short, Kisara and I are incarnations of the power within Alicia’s spirit totems. The first time you met her not only was Kisara not present but I hadn’t had the power to manifest like this. the steel dragon finished answering. ”We should proceed before Kisara inadvertently stirs up trouble for us.”
With that said, he caught Tokomon during one of his bounces on Alicia’s liquid body and passed him back to Mitsuko.
”I heard that!” Kisara added from the depths of the cave as Alicia slumped down into a half-formed puddle with literal confusion spirals for eyes to signal her dizziness.

Fixing her posture, Maia looked to Mitsuko. "I'm Maia Quinn, and that's Kuu," the teen motioned to her Reppamon. Strange. For once, he hadn't interrupted her attempt to introduce hi--Oh. Now, for some reason, the Champion had his face buried in the snow. "K-Kuu, what are you doing?"
"Pretending not to hear any of you!" Oh, c'mon! The puns weren't that bad, were they?
Now, it was time to look at Kisara and Sol. Catching the small pun, a smile slipped across frozen lips again. But, before she could say anything to either of Alicia's spiritual companions, it seemed that the Queen was rambling on already. "Y-yes, a pleas--" And, then the next part had been started, and quickly ended by Alicia. "Have I... what?" And, with something about shippers, cheeks began to tint with red. "Actually, nevermind." Maybe, Maia didn't really want to know what Kisara was about to ask!
Pulling his head out of the snow, the frozen fox looked to Tokomon. "Toko-kokokoko!" Kuu chirped, seeming to forget where the little Digimon's name ended. "Want a ride? I do great piggyback!" After all, it only kind of scared Maia! That meant the champion had to have some skill, right?!
Maia moved closer to the puddle that was once known as Alicia, checking on her. It was amazing how much distress a simple in-training could do to a dragon! "Are you, uh, alright?" Jeez, it was like nobody had dealt with a baby Digimon before!
...Okay, so maybe Kuu had made Maia a little desensitized to hyperactive monsters.

Mitsuko watched in astonishment as the liquid-esque dragon managed to backhand the Ice Maiden with little effort. Her mouth opened slightly at the quickness of Alicia's action. However, her astonishment turned into embarrassment as Mitsuko was handed her partner once again. Watching as Alicia seemed to melt into a blob on the snow covered floor. She smiled softly at Maia. "Nice to meet you, and Kuu." Mitsuko added hastily, as she tried to put Tokomon back into his warm nest-like bag.
Tokomon, however, had a more appealing option. He squirmed out of Mitsuko's grasp again, and jumped upon Kuu's back "Yay! Rides are FUN!" He squealed. "I like Toko-koko. Or however many koko's there were... That was funny!" The small digimon hopped up and down on Kuu's body, giggling. Mitsuko made a mental note to get a leash, this escape artist act was really not good. "Looks like our partner's seem to have that carefree spirit in common." Mitsuko said softly, her bell-like voice wavered, uncertainly. She was comfortable around Alicia, even regarded the Spirit user as a friend. Maia, however, was a new person. Would Maia like her? Was she judging her based on her partner's actions? Did Maia think Mitsuko was a terrible tamer? Mitsuko tore her gaze away from Tokomon, who had made himself comfortable in Kuu's furry mane. A pink head clashed against the silvery white of Kuu's fur.
Mitsuko shook her head, her hood coming loose, sending silvery strands of hair cascading down her shoulders. The musician came back to her senses, Alicia needed help. She dug in her bag, and pulled out a small first aid kit. After rummaging around, she pulled out a small vial with silvery crystals inside of it. "Alicia, this will... not smell very pleasant." Mitsuko removed the cork, and put the bitter smelling salts near Mercurialdramon's snout. After a moment, she stood back and gave Alicia some room. Mitsuko turned to Maia "My father's a doctor, I guess I picked up some useful tricks..." Mitsuko's earlier uncertainty returned, as she brushed back a strand of hair.
"Hey guys! Are we going to stand here all day or go in?" Tokomon called out "I think its safe to enter. Miss Kisara would have activated any traps when she flew in... right?" Mitsuko shook her head. Yes, etiquette lessons were definitely going to be added to her mental training list for Tokomon...

Groaning, the mercurial dragon… oddly seemed to not even notice the smelling salts when Mitsuko held them to her snout. Strange, that, since very little could ignore such a scent being used. “Mrrr, note to self… close eyes before anyone does that again… I’m fine now.” Alicia groaned, slowly pulling herself back together and swaying a bit. Putting a forepaw on her head, she sighed and started to descend into the tunnel, calling back, “Alright, let’s wrap this up nice and quick before we freeze our tails, metaphorical or otherwise, off…” She seemed to completely brush the smelling salts off.
Seeing as she didn’t explain it, Sol looked over to the others. ”To explain what went down, Mitsuko, in such a ‘melted’ state things like most of the five senses can shut down or otherwise be rendered unusable. In her current form, any given organs normal to a human body are merely simulated instinctively on what is otherwise literally just a mass of animated mercury. While a brilliant idea, I’m afraid the Mercurialdramon form is an out of context problem for many things. That especially includes standard medical procedures.”
With that, the armored spirit followed Alicia down and presumably the others would come around as well. This particular cavern was larger than most. Not to the point of being gaping, but enough that even with stalactites and stalagmites around it was at least easy to move around. However, the caverns being what they were, the team ran into expected trouble. “Map’s going on the fritz…” Alicia griped softly as she continued. At least there was pulses of energy running across the walls and ceiling of the place, keeping it decently lit.
”Seems unusual for things to be this bright…” Kisara mused in one of her moments of being strangely serious. Alicia glanced over to the ice maiden in question but otherwise didn’t say anything about it. Her form did seem to stiffen though as she continued, the only visible sign that she acknowledged the words of her spirit friend.

Maia nodded to the newer tamer, with a small smile. Hopefully, it would be nice! As long as her little Digimon and Kuu didn't go off doing anything completely reckless. At least Kuu seemed pretty receptive when Alicia told him things, so, with any luck, he'd be on his best behavior! Maybe, he feared the wrath of a dragon.
"Tokokoko, it is!" It seemed that the little Digimon was going to have a new name, now! With the Tokomon bouncing, Kuu made an effort to trot around in the snow without allowing the other partner to lose it's balance on his back. Yay for rides!
Throwing a glance to the Reppamon, the tamer let out a sigh. "Yes. Carefree." That was a much more positive descriptor for the personality! After all, Maia usually preferred to refer to Kuu as 'The One That's Going To Get Us All Killed.' But, he hadn't done that yet! So, maybe 'Carefree' worked just as well for now. "I'd ask if you wanted him, but I promised I'd stop trying to pawn him off on people." Mostly because, well, she wasn't willing to lose what she had been grounded for months over. That would just make for a waste of time and emotional distress! That, and, she supposed Kuu was growing on her. Sometimes, it seemed quite literally.
With Mitsuko trying to help bring Alicia back to her sense, Maia couldn't help but feel like the other girl was more useful than her. Despite being a tamer this long, she had barely picked up on any medical, or survival, skills. And, while it seemed useless to the spirit user, it gave the teen a quick rundown of mercurial dragon anatomy. Now, if only that could be applied to a test in school, or something!
Kuu was quick to begin toward the cave after Alicia gave the okay. After all, Tokomon should be right! His tamer chose to fall back slightly, just in case they were very, very wrong. After all, it wouldn't be the first time that her partner had jumped the gun.

Mitsuko smiled as Maia asked if she wanted Kuu. "I am glad. I think one rambunctious digimon is enough for a tamer. I don't think either of us could handle two." Mitsuko giggled slightly, as Tokomon squealed with delight. "However, something tells me we may be taking turns with Digi-sleep overs." Mitsuko smiled at Maia. She hoped the girl would like her, why did she seems so self conscious! The silverette adjusted the strap of her bag, making sure both the bag and her violin were secured against her slender body.
"I have to admit..." Mitsuko said softly to Maia "I am jealous. You two clearly have a bond full of experience, trust and love. I hope I have a modicum of that, with my partner." Mitsuko brushed a strand of hair from her face. "Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses... I just hope that in time, I will not be a hindrance." Mitsuko could feel her unease as she watched Tokomon. She shifted her body nervously. "But with friends like Alicia, and you. I don't think I will have to worry. I will learn from the best, so to speak." Mitsuko gave Maia her dazzling, 1,000 watt smile as she walked with Maia, behind the rest of the group.
Mitsuko kept one watchful eye on "Tokokoko" as he continued to romp around in Kuu's fur, chanting his new nickname cheerfully. She listened to Sol's explanation with as much attention as she could, without breaking line of sight with her partner. "That is very interesting." Mitsuko mused "She not only changes her genetic make up from biological to digital, yet retains the digital genetic make up in a biological sense." The silverette was thoroughly intrigued. "The capabilities and abilities of Alicia's current form could potentially be limitless." The young musician could feel the wheels of her mind turning with the possibilities. Knowledge, no matter how big or small, truly intrigued her. She had to banish the thoughts away, before her intellectual side became too twitchy, and wanted to ask Alicia for research purposes...
With a small shake of her head, she brought herself back to their current situation. She slightly gaped as they entered the cavern. She could see the pulses of energy, running around the area, as if she could feel them warming something inside of her. Mitsuko snuggled deeper into her jacket, as she wondered what her music would sound like in here, reverberating off of the walls. Would they be able to see the notes hitting the walls with the energy pulses? "Hey Sol?" Mitsuko spoke before she could change her mind. "If Alicia is Mercurialdramon, I assume part of her transformation has to do with the metal Mercury... Back home that element is dangerous, albeit slightly poisonous, to humans. Will it harm Alicia?" Images of Alicia slowly descending into madness crept into her mind. Mitsuko couldn't handle losing a friend so quickly.
It was strange, yet almost natural as the three girls strode into the cave. Strange, in the obvious sense that they were in a parallel digital dimension, searching for a spirit totem with digital monsters. Natural, because it seemed... right, as if all her life was waiting for this moment. Could Mitsuko truly have friends? Would they like her for her, and not her 'talents'? Only time could tell. Mitsuko steeled her resolve, and was ready to meet the challenges ahead. With friends by her side, and her partner, she felt as if she could handle just about anything.

”Heeeey! Kuu, can I get a ride too? I promise you won’t even notice I’m there!” Kisara suddenly chirped, hanging back to come side-to-side with the Reppamon. Then she took the choice out of his hands and hopped onto his back without any more warning! Thankfully she was a spirit, and thus her weight defaulted to ‘lighter than air’ and wouldn’t impede or harm the Champion in the slightest. Alicia rolled her eyes and smiled at Kisara’s antics.
“Maia with Kuu, Kai with Shiro and Kuro, and now you with Tokomon, Mitsuko, it seems that while it won’t be handed to you on a silver platter, fate is very much playing favorites with the Tamers when it comes to forging such bonds.” Alicia noted, looking back at Mitsuko over her shoulder. “So, don’t fret too much okay? It’ll all work out somehow.”
And then Mitsuko got to musing about her current form, noting her reactions. It seemed she was quite the thinker. Maybe she could bring it up to the silverette later and see what she was about to go on about. That’s not to say anything was going to seriously change between them. It was just interesting and maybe she could think of something Alicia hadn’t? Two heads were better than one.
… two heads… now that was a conundrum. What would happen if she did that? Developing split personality disorder immediately came to mind making her shelve that thought right away. The last thing she needed was more voices in her head caused by her splitting her brain in half or creating a second one or however that worked. Then again… Isaac’s Orochimon form had a bunch of puppet heads so she could probably do something similar? A question for another time.
”Alas, the level of the form is a severe limiting factor.” Sol began once addressed. ”Being only an Ultimate, and a fractional one at that, heavily dents the raw power Mercurialdramon can bring forth. Otherwise, Mitsuko? You’re pretty on track for what it can do. Though I have noticed that Alicia’s been able to hit well above her metaphorical weight class before.” Nodding to himself, the armored dragon hummed, before turning around. Walking backwards so he could fully face the young musician, he cracked a soft smile.
”It’s less part of her transformation in this form and more the entirety of it. And I’m well aware that under normal circumstances it is harmful. I assure you though, Alicia has used this form many times already and suffered no ill effects for it. How to explain why though… Sol trailed off, raising a hand to scratch his chin with a claw. ”As you may know, Spirit Wielders are much hardier then the average human, thanks in part to being able to shift into a digital form like this. Wounds on the Digimon form generally only manifest as minor scratches and bruises at worst. Though a particularly vicious attack can harm the human form retroactively once they change back. It was one such injury that facilitated your meeting actually.”
Frowning a bit, the dragon looked down, closing his eyes. Despite that and the fact he was walking backwards, he seemed to always know exactly where he was going and where his feet were, never stumbling or slowing for a second. ”I’d like to say this before I continue: I have no concrete evidence of what I will speak of next, such is merely theory crafting on my part so please take it with a grain of salt. That said, I say retroactively because while transformed you could say that a Spirit Wielder’s human form is phased out of reality as we all know it. It’s part of why they can transform into humanoid fires like Meramon or animated dragons of mercury like Alicia’s own Mercurialdramon form and not suffer the immediate and long term dangers of such forms. However, to keep the Spirit Wielder anchored to the known world, a slight connection between human and Digimon form bridges the gap. In my opinion this is how, with less confusion than most, they can adapt to unusual forms so readily. Such a connection helps calm the mind and allow it to think rationally if there are no intervening circumstances. Certainly, there are exceptions which could likely challenge the validity of my theory, but that’s why I call it what it is, a theory. In the end I’d need to dedicate a fair amount of work figuring it out myself, and even then it might not be enough. It’s an interesting thought challenge though.”
“Okay, how can you just randomly start spouting so much of everything at the drop of a hat? Theories, advice, is there anything you can’t spin into something like that with a little improv?” Alicia asked, a bit incredulous. What was she supposed to do with such a chatty Spirit? But what she didn’t notice while she was talking was what was going on around them.
The stalactites and stalagmites were tarting to look less like rocks and more like especially thick hunks of ice. And the pulses in the caverns were starting to pick up their pace. Those who were breathing would start to see their breath and even Kisara seemed to shiver a bit. Something odd was going down, but what was it?

The Reppamon looked to Kisara, slightly debating on the weight of a kind-of-not-entirely-real entity. Would she be heavy? What if she squished Tokokoko?! Oh well! More the merrier! Of course, before Kuu even had the chance to agree, the spirit was sitting on him. Oh! She was light! This worked out fine! The champion would just continue on his way, with a bounce in his step.
"As long as Kuu keeps away from ceiling fans and socks, then he should be alright." Good advice for sleepovers, right? Oh, and cold, metal poles. And cats. And... Yeah, okay. Maybe Kuu wasn't very sleepover friendly. After what he had done to Shi's house when left unattended, Maia would hate to see what he would do when welcomed into someone else's home. How was Mitsuko so cheerful about all of this? The first several times in the Digital World, for Maia, were just utter chaos. Then again, with Alicia there, it was a lot easier to handle. "It's probably best not to learn much about Digimon-handling from me," the girl admitted, slowly. After all, most creatures that wanted to destroy her partner knew that a human was a nicely sized, easily targeted weakness! Were there many strengths in that regard? Probably not, in all honesty. The tamer hadn't found many decent examples of other tamers not being moderately useless, and she was hardly an exception! Though, tamers had some sort of use on occasion. Such as blatantly using yourself as a distraction!
Why did Maia always choose such dangerous ways to be a part of her Digimon's life? She did not make a good role model.
"Plus, you have... some sort of medical knowledge. So, you're already bounds ahead of most." Yes, try to take a more positive approach! Stop being a downer about things, Maia! Especially when talking to such a sweet girl! It was really just a matter of if Tokomon could hold it's own, as well. And that was something that would only be learned with time.
Though, now they were onto a lesson about Spirit Users that was quite interesting. Except for the part where Maia had no idea what she was really listening to. Maybe this would be easier to grasp if she were a spirit user. "There's not going to be a test on this later, right?" Please, no more tests. She was already having a hard enough time paying attention in class! Though, she had to admit, it was because Digimon were far more interesting subjects than most of her classes.
Kuu, being mostly ahead of the group, was paying more attention to the scenery, rather than the conversation piece. It wasn't like he understood a drop of what Sol was saying, anyway! Exhaling heavily, a puff of air was visible seeping from his mask, before the fox began lightly shaking his face. "Fogged up my mask! Oh no! Why do bad things happen?!" Why did it matter so much, anyway? It wasn't like the Digimon could see through it well, regardless!

Tokomon watched in awe as Kisara suddenly hopped up beside of him. He poked his head out of his furry nest. "Hiya!" Tokomon said enthusiastically, he slowly pawed his way over to the Spirit. "Thanks for checking out the cave first. It was rather nice of you." Tokomon said innocently as he pawed his way onto Kisara's lap. Mitsuko rolled her eyes, as if Kisara had a choice. "Keep Tokomon away from pumpkin seeds. Last time, he got stuck in the bag." Mitsuko told Maia. "But I feel as if Kuu and Tokomon would benefit from having a nonhuman friend to be with from time to time. Besides, your Digi-handling is probably better than anything I will find out on my own." Mitsuko shuddered at the thoughts of what would happen if she had Tokomon and Kuu at the same time, with no Maia. Something told her, the mansion like house, would become one giant place of hide and seek. Aww crap.
Her attention brought back to the conversation with Alicia. "Yeah, I guess I don't have to worry. We are brought together for a reason righ---" Mitsuko halted her comment mid sentence. "Wait, you know Kai and his partners?!" Mitsuko wheeled around with such force, she almost slipped on ice, again. "He was... the one to explain my destiny to me." Mitsuko added softly. She hadn't seen Kai in ages. He had promised to help find her partner, but had never contacted her. He had been dismissed from the hospital, and seemed to have vanished. "Have you... seen him? Is he okay?" Mitsuko couldn't help the words escaping her mouth.
Before she could even blush, Sol began his intellectual debate once again. "I see. Well, I am glad to know that Alicia will not suffer any long term side effects of her forms. I know, in the real world, when you start messing with the bio-genetic code sequence... results are less than desirable." What if the effects would have been less than desirable? Would Alicia stop using them to save herself? No. Mitsuko was sure that Alicia would use it anyway, to save others. Saving others at the cost of saving yourself. It is the choice Mitsuko would have made herself after all.
Mitsuko had never spoken this much before, and hoped she didn't annoy anyone else in their makeshift party. "Well... The medical knowledge is very rudimentary. Stuff my father ingrained into me since I was little. He wanted me to be practical, and have a job that truly helps others." Mitsuko shifted the violin case on her back. "Well, lets just say his knowledge is useful, but not where my true heart lies." Mitsuko felt a soft smile spread across her face "No, no test." Mitsuko was glad that Maia was able to joke so easily with them. That meant something was truly going right... right?
Tokomon had contented himself upon Kisara's lap, curled up into a soft pink ball, when he started to get a bit chilly. "You know Kisara, you're really pretty... but not so warm." Tokomon hopped back into his fluffy, furry nest. "No offense, but I don't wanna freeze my data off." Tokomon felt Kuu shaking his face. "Wee! Weee!" Tokomon bounced happily around in the warm fur. Tokomon leaned his head over Kuu's and extended an ear, using it as a makeshift windshield wiper (or was it a mask-wiper) attempting to clear off the fog on Kuu's mask. "Looks like our partners are already learning on how to work together." Mitsuko couldn't help as a grin broke out across her face.
