After all of the shit that the bros had been through these past few days, school had gone from a daily annoyance to a much needed escape. Elliot always had a special place in his heart for his education, but even Isaac was taking solace in the fact that he was in a place where he couldn't be zapped, blasted, cut up, and threatened for a change. The only threat he really had to deal with was being bored to death, which admittedly was a large concern for several portions of the day.
Nevertheless, he often found ways to entertain himself through the day. Japanese was the easiest of those situations, which he often took as a chance to practice ESL when nobody was paying attention to him. He often signed the words as they were said, trying to commit three separate "translations" to memory at once. If Elliot saw him, a textbook of signs nestled into his Japanese textbook for easy access, he'd probably tease him for turning into a big nerd as well. Nevertheless, it helped reassure Isaac that when he had the drive to accomplish something, he could be surprisingly capable and dedicated. Who knows? Maybe his education wouldn't be as helpless as he had expected!
Once class had finished he waited by the door, where Elliot ended up inevitably showing up on most days. This was about where Elliot's lunch break began, but since Elliot ate like the world's most efficient vacuum cleaner he often had a lot of time to spare during lunch. For this reason, that period started to turn into the bros' designated hangout period for the day. As if on cue Elliot was already waiting by the lockers, smiling and saving to his big bro.
"Hey there. How's your day going so far?" Isaac asked, wearing the usual confident grin he had when he conquered a few new signs. Today he'd been practicing a few ASL puns, and while they weren't the most convenient words for learning's sake he knew Maia would get a kick out of them.
"Oh, it's going great! You wouldn't believe how crazy Japanese histoty gets in the last hundred years or so. Did you know someone could've been born in the age of the samurai and died in the age of Coca-Cola? Like, imagine if we saw knights on a daily basis still!"
"You mean like in the Digital World?" Isaac asked, smirking.
"Oh, come on, you know that doesn't count.
Wait, who's that?" Elliot's attention had been taken by a girl that was also coming out of the classroom. Isaac turned to follow his brother's look, a little bit confused.
"I dunno. One of my classmates, I guess. Haven't really talked to her much. Why?"
"She looks familiar. Like, really familiar. Do you think we know her from somewhere?"
Frankly, Isaac had no idea what Elliot was talking about. But as he thought about it, she did seem vaguely familiar. Nevertheless he had the sense not to dwell on it too nuch, whereas Elliot kept stealing occasional looks to try and figure out this little mystery.

With one hand in his pocket, an older teen wandered toward the lower classes. After having already mistaken which grade his sister was in, Asher had to come to terms with the fact that he honestly didn't know where she had class! So, naturally, the older boy was arriving later than he had been hoping. Free fingers twisted around the handles of a small bag that he was carrying, while puffing his cheeks.
Why was school such a hassle?
Catching a glimpse of his sister, the young man began to increase speed, only to slow down. It looked like some kid was attempting to covertly watch her, though. Huh. Did she have a fanbase, or something? This boy looked to be far too young for her, after all! To come all the way to this side of the school seemed a little unnecessary, unless he had a reason. Was the reason his friend, or was it to creep on older girls?
Walking up to Elliot, the teen pulled his hand from his pocket and reached out to place it on the kid's shoulder, while leaning down a little. "Are we staring at pretty girls? While the shorter, albeit older, brother seemed to ping some sort of memory. But, surely he couldn't be familiar! Asher had barely talked to any of his sister's classmates since moving here! Why would he? They were too young for him, and sometimes just a little too annoying.
It wasn't like the protective brother was paying enough mind to Isaac to place any recognition anyway. He was too focused on the chance of guys trying to ogle his sister! Still, a grin bit at his face, as he waited for some sort of response. "I mean, it's cool and all, but don't you want someone closer to your age? Nobody likes dating older women!" Is this really how he was going to start off this discussion? There was no way this could start him on the right foot with anyone!

Normally, Elliot wasn't too vulnerable to emotional teasing. Its why when the strange boy first approached him, he didn't seem to think anything of what he had to say. "Oh, no. I just thought I recognized her from somewhere," he said, no real embarrassment in his matter-of-fact tone. Then he noticed that both of them had the same bright red hair, which wasn't exactly common in Japan. Did he just insult someone's cousin? Sister? . . . Daughter?
Slowly, he started to blush a little, trying to come up with the right words to navigate this situation. "N-not that she isn't pretty. I didn't mean to insult her or anything. Or stare! Honest! I'm just trying to remember where I know her from, that's all."
Elliot may not have been easily embarrassed, but he was excellent at digging himself deeper.
Of course, Isaac wasn't one to be one-upped in the game of self-embarrassment. He found himself huffing slightly at the older boy's comment. It was reflex at this point, with how often others at school teased him when they found out he was dating an upperclasswoman. Sure, they inevitably shut their mouths when they saw how cute Maia was, but the teasing was still fairly consistent. What was wrong with it, anyway? It was only two years! That's, like, nothing!
Nevertheless, upon recovering from his bout of indginity, he turned to the older boy. Upon seeing him up close, he looked very, very familiar. Like he was always hanging around at school or something. Like, not this school, but school from way back at home. That couldn't have been possible, right? On the other hand, who had this kind of bright red hair in Japan? This guy had to come from somewhere Western, and Oakland seemed as likely as any other place.
"Okay, I swear I know you from somewhere. My name's Isaac, and my bro over there is Elliot. What's yours?"

It was always hilarious to watch as realization fell across someone's face. If Asher was a mind reader, he would surely have found the entire thought process a lot less funny once the daughter concept had crossed Elliot's mind. Did he really look that old?! Luckily for both of them, he was not capable of that sort of thing. Yellow eyes shifted briefly to Isaac, grin growing. Did that boy seem a bit flustered, too? What could he have said to trigger such a reaction?
But, he still had a more interesting target. "You didn't insult her," he started, curiously. "Unless, you were thinking about insults?" If only Asher knew that Elliot wasn't the type to think poorly of strangers!
This fun was short lived, as the teen straightened his posture. Looking to the boy that had addressed him, grin faded to a more relaxed smile. Removing his hand from Elliot's shoulder, he adjusted his glasses. "You know, I get that a lot," he stated, truthfully. While it had been three years since being an active interest to the public, it certainly didn't stop people from "thinking" they recognized him!
Still, with it being brought to his attention, he had to admit that Isaac looked awfully familiar. Heck, even the name seemed to ring some sort of bell! More of a soft chime, rather than an echoing clang, he still failed to place the familiar feeling.
"I'm Asher. And the girl that you," eyes shifted back to Elliott, "'were admiring, is my sister." Hardly pausing, he lifted his hand to catch the girl's attention. "Hey, Piper! I found some guys that want to start your fan club! Got the president of it right here!" The teen made a dramatic motion toward Elliot, while likely drawing an annoying amount of attention to everyone involved. It was really no surprise when his sister maintained her distance, only staring at the boys. Asher must be a really embarrassing brother to have!

"Oh, never," Elliot said, voice as earnest as possible. "Why would I ever want to do that? That'd just be mean!" It probably sounded like a complete captain obvious statement, but at the same time Elliot's philosophy was always to think the best of people whenever possible. That was especially true for people he hadn't met yet. Suspicion usually suited Isaac way better than it suited Elliot, and so far Elliot's earnestness had been nothing but a big gain for him. Why change gears now?
At the mention of getting "recognized" a lot, Isaac had a feeling he already knew why that was. After all, he sure seemed like someone who enjoyed leaving impressions on others. He was going for the jugular with the whole admiration angle, after all, and in quite the bombastic fashion. Heck, Isaac was almost tempted to laugh along, finally watching Elliot get some payback over his constant teasing about Maia. But Elliot was his little brother, darnit! If anybody was going to be giving payback it'd be Isaac, not some random stranger. "Had a feeling," Isaac commented, trying to figure out just where he had seen this drama king before. It was on the tip of his tongue, but he just couldn't connect a place to this face.
The comment about admiring the girl, who they now knew as Piper, got Elliot blushing enough. But when Asher started dramatically declaring Elliot as the president of her fanclub, the boy's embarrassment reached critical mass. He practically hid behind Isaac, trying to hide the neon glow on his face while shooting Asher a pleading look. Isaac gave his brother a gentle pat on the head before turning a steely gaze Asher's way. "Okay, that's enough," he commented, his earlier amusement having mostly faded now that Elliot was turtling up. There was nothing worse than having a melted pile of goo for a brother, after all, and Asher seemed fully intent on pushing his buttons until he got to that point. He turned apologetically to Piper, indicating that this was all a great, big misunderstanding. "Brothers are the worst sometimes, eh?" he asked, trying to bring some levity back to the situation. However, as he looked at Piper, all the pieces started falling together in his mind.
"You know, I'm pretty sure you guys used to go to school with us," Isaac commented as he turned back to Asher. Well, duh. "No, no, not this one. My last one. You know, back in Oakland?"

Aw! It looked like Elliot was one of those sweet, honest-types! Or, maybe he was just bashful. Ah, whatever. "Man, you're adorable," the teen snickered. Eyes shifted to Isaac, who was now playing the younger boy's shield. "No harm intended!" Fidgeting with the handles of the bag in one hand, he managed to lift both arms to try to display surrender.
Of course this was the same time that Piper had finally gotten the opportunity to walk up. Without a word, she took the lack of self defense an invite, slamming her elbow into her brother's stomach. With a small huff, the girl looked to Isaac, "aren't they? I'm still not used to living with him."
Whether exaggerating or not, the older brother leaned over, holding his stomach. For the first minute or so, Asher only let out laughter, before finally managing, "your love really hurts." With a groan, the teen fixed his glasses again. "I bring you food, and you hurt me! That's just rude!" Gaining a glare from his sister, the boy prepared to continue rambling, until Isaac mentioned Oakland.
While Piper seemed entirely expecting of the outcome, Asher was far more skeptical. "Okay, that's weird. Are you actually creeping on my sister? Because I was joking before, I mean--"
"I'm pretty sure we've had a class together, before."
Talk about an insult! It had taken her classmate this long to make a connection? Given, the girl likely made zero effort to even try to talk to Isaac. After all, this was the first time they had probably talked since he joined her class in Japan. Why would it have been different elsewhere?
Asher, on the other hand, was still plenty distressed. "So, you didn't stalk us to Japan, right?" One could never be too cautious!

"T-thank you? I think?"
It was fairly obvious Elliot had no idea how to react to some strange, older person suddenly swooping in, teasing the heck out of him, and then calling him adorable. Was that a complement or mockery? Was he being hit on? Okay, no, that made no sense. Maybe. Probably. Either way, he decided to remain behind his brother and human shield, figuring if he couldn't see Asher than Asher couldn't embarrass him any further. That was obviously how teasing worked. Or maybe it was how T-Rexes worked. Sometimes, Elliot got those confused.
A lot less confusing was Piper slamming Asher with a vicious elbow to the stomach. The older teen was sent reeling, and for a brief second Isaac was thankful Elliot wasn't taken as an unwanted admirer. If she could leave someone three years older than her and in fairly good shape doubled over, she'd probably be able to break Elliot cleanly in half. Nevertheless, she seemed in the mood for some pleasant griping and conversation. "Tell me about it. I've been stuck sharing a room with mine since we moved here, and it's been so weird. Like getting woken up super early in the morning," Isaac observed.
"Or having to pick up all the socks," Elliot retorted, shooting Isaac an irritated glance.
"Hey, don't look at me. I pick mine up. But it's not like all of us can leave our rooms looking like Martha Stewart's before we have to run to school."
"Maybe if your sleep schedule wasn't more like Dracula's, you'd be able to pull it off."
"Oh, ha ha." Unfortunately, before their banter could continue, Asher started talking again. It seemed like he took the whole dropped by an elbow thing fairly well, though, judging by how much he was laughing about it. That was when the mention of Oakland seemed to click, however, and soon Asher was giving Isaac a skeptical look. He actually seemed kind of unnerved by the comment, which was kind of confusing to Isaac. Had he still not put all of the pieces together? Weird. But then again, some people were just too overprotective of their siblings.
Yes, Isaac realized the irony of this train of thought. Don't ask about it.
". . . Huh. Come to think of it, I think you're right," Isaac commented. Which one could it have been? If he only vaguely recalled Piper it was probably math or something. That sounded about right, since there would be barely any social interaction or presentations and Isaac would spend decent portions of the class dozing off. Not really the most ideal circumstances for remembering someone. "Well, nice to re-meet you," he added, grinning. Did it even count as re-meeting if they never really met-met before? Ah, whatever.
"Huh? Why would we do that?" Elliot asked, confused by Asher's next question. He seemed really insistent on this stalking angle! "No, our mom just took us on vacation here. Then she decided no, wait, we're staying here. You know, come to think of it, I don't really think this was supposed to be a 'vacation' at all . . .
Anyway! We've been here a few months now, I think. How about you guys?"

"You guys share a room?" Piper's face scrunched, looking to her brother. The expression seemed to only worsen over time, clearly thinking about how awful that kind of living situation would be for herself. Well, aside from the opposite genders part. That would be awkward, on it's own. "Nope, couldn't do that," she finally concluded, with a rapid head shake. There was no way that the girl could ever share a room with her older brother!
Not paying much mind to what Isaac was saying with his sister, focus returned primarily to Elliot. It seemed that it had to have been T-Rex logic, because even with a human shield, Asher could still see him. Before answering the younger of the brothers, he listened to the entire explanation. But, the second that 'mom' was mentioned, the young adult seemed lost. "Your, uh, your mom. She's not--"
"--No."
The redhead let out a loud breath, as he moved his hand from his stomach to his chest. "Thought I was going to die, there. Whew! Okay!" His sister rolled her eyes, but didn't seem alarmed at all by her brother's intense paranoia. Maybe, this was the norm for the duo. But, now it was time to address the question at hand. "I think we're nearing a year." This received a confirmation nod from his sister. Oh, good, he got something right. But, feeling like he was supposed to give some explanation about why they were in Japan, he simply added, "the business our dad works for has a branch here. Great business opportunities, those kind of things. It wasn't a lie, after all! Then again, it wasn't entirely the truth. But, Piper placed no effort into adding to the story. "Just 'adult' things, I guess."
That was a good enough story, right? It wasn't like the ex-actor really felt it necessary to go into big details. Especially when there wasn't a need! Plus, why craft a lie when one can tell part of a truth?

"It's not all bad," Elliot added, thinking back to all of the good times he and Isaac had just chatting before bed. Or the times when they've really needed someone to lean on and decompress after a Digital World adventures. Or even the times when they've come in handy to save each other's bacons, making sure the other didn't miss school or breakfast or anything important like that. It could be really tiring sometimes, but at least for now Elliot was glad to have the option available. "But it's probably for the best you don't have to deal with it. Especially if he snores," Elliot warned, shooting a quick look over to Asher. Something told Elliot he was a snorer.
Isaac looked quite confused by how suddenly shocked Asher was by hearing that their mom moved here. He sure was an . . . expressive person, wasn't he? With how he was acting before, Isaac didn't get the impression he was faking, either. Then again, in general he had a kind of exaggerated persona that made reactions like that a little bit hard to take seriously. Darnit! Isaac was usually really good at reading people, and yet this guy was completely clouding up his radar. Not to Kuu degrees, but pretty darn badly.
Still, it seemed like a fairly normal story. Good business, change of scenery, head to Japan. It probably made more sense than getting semi-tricked there by his mother. Really, though, Isaac had a feeling the true story involved a lot more getting away from Elliot's father than their mom let on. It was fine, honestly. It was far too sensitive of an issue to really press like that. The vacation-turned-stay story worked fine enough for all intents and purposes, anyway.
"That's cool," Isaac finally said. Truth be told, he wasn't entirely sure what his side of the family had been up to recently. His mom had to have had some form of steady work by now, right? He'd feel awful if her friend from college was still covering for the three of them. She seemed to have a few odds and ends to do at all times, but she was often far too busy and stressed to talk about it. Then again, they were often far too busy and stressed to ask. Instead of things settling as they acclimated to Japan, it was just getting busier and busier. "What kinda business?"
Elliot, meanwhile, had a lot less boring work-y things on his mind. "And what do you guys like to do for fun?" he asked.

Asher looked to his sister, panicked expression, while mouthing, 'do I snore?' to her. At first, the girl looked hesitant, opening her mouth and beginning to nod, only to snicker and shake her head. It seemed that Elliot's instinct was off. Either that, or Piper never really heard him through the walls. "Not that I really care to enter your room, anyway. You need to make a path to your bed because you won't use your closet.
"The closet's so far away. That seemed like a logical response! Right? Okay, so it might be more than just clothes on the floor. Textbooks, handheld games, random puzzle pieces that didn't even have a box. Whatever found it's way into his room seemed to live on the floor!
Then, there was a pause to the question about his father's business. The teen shuffled his feet, looking around. Finally, eyes dropped to Piper. The girl let out a groan, "you really don't know what he does for a living, do you? The brother shrugged, causing his sister to let out another irritated sound. "Do you even live on Earth?"
For a second, Asher debated the answer, before shrugging, "gravity makes me live here." That, uh, was how gravity worked, right? "Dad keeps out of my business, I keep out of his. What's it matter? While the two would have continued bickering, there was a second question that could have been answered far more easily. What they did for fun.
"After-School clubs," was an almost immediate response from the fifteen year old. Was that really entertaining to her? "Or, watching movies, I guess."
Asher had to think on the response a little more than his sibling, fidgeting. "Sleeping is fun," he slowly mumbled. What else was there? "Some video games? Or. Oh! I like running." To emphasize, the teen bounced between his feet. "What do you do?"

Elliot giggled at Piper's response. "I know, right?" he asked immediately. "I mean, Isaac's not that bad, but he's always leaving stuff scattered around his room. He swears he's got it all organized somehow, but I think he just puts it down wherever he was last using it." Plates on the windowsills were a common one, since sometimes Isaac liked sitting right by the window when he ate. Or leaving towels just hanging there on his doorknob. And did he even need to get into the times they were cramming for tests and he left textbooks in the kitchen cabinets? "But hey. At least part of sharing a room means none of that stuff sticks around for long on my watch." Before they shared a move, Elliot had to deal with The Heap. The Heap was not fun.
At the not knowing what their dad was doing for a living question, Elliot and Isaac quickly shot each other confused looks. Sure, they weren't 100% sure what their mom was up to right now, but there was a difference between job hopping and completely missing what the family business was! This guy really was an enigma, wasn't he? Nevertheless, Isaac was a bit too distracted to focus on that. Mention of sticking out of dad business caught his attention, and briefly he wondered what the man he never called father was doing.
He shook the thought, disgusted that it even came up.
Clubs and movies. That was a sensible answer. Elliot nodded as Piper spoke, asking "Oh! I've been meaning to get into a few of those. What kinda clubs are you in?" It had honestly slipped Elliot's mind, with all the times he had to duck into the Digital World instead of having a normal life like a normal kid. Maybe having some other stuff to throw himself into would be a nice break from all the chaos. At least Isaac had a plan with drama club, and could probably pop into art club to check out Maia's stuff. Elliot was honestly drawing a blank on what he wanted.
Meanwhile, Isaac couldn't quite buy Asher's answers. Then again, when it seemed like he didn't even know what he did for fun, how could Isaac buy it? Nevertheless, the sleeping answer got a little chuckle out of him. "Amen to that," Isaac remarked, Elliot shooting him a quick "you sleep too much you butt" look. Still, he had to have a better answer than sleep, right? The two looked at each other, trying to think of a few answers real quick.
"Exploring's one of 'em," Isaac commented, quickly getting the most obvious answer out of the way in a much less suspicious form. "I mean, we've been here for half a year, and we're still always seeing new stuff. Hm, what else. There's movies and TV too. Elliot's been freaking out over Dragon Ball being back. He's also really into video games. These days, it's like I gotta pry him off of WoW with a crowbar. And on my end, I've wanted to try parkour for a good bit now. And I've been thinking of checking out the drama club around here, but I need to make sure I've got a good handle on the language first."
Those were some surprisingly fleshed out answers, even if the WoW comment had Elliot blushing a bit from embarrassment. He wasn't that hard to get away from the game! Most of the time.

"I think we should just put hazmat tape over his door," Piper shrugged. It was the easiest solution! Just consider the bedroom a lost cause and hope that nobody tried to enter it! ...Then again, doing that could encourage her brother trying to sleep in her bedroom, and that certainly wasn't happening after this conversation, either! The room would be a mess within a hour!
With a sheepish smile, the girl thought about her clubs. "I'm in a lot of them. Uh, I attend photography club most Tuesdays and Thursdays, she started, tapping her fingers. "Debate club on Friday afternoons, sometimes," eyes shifted to Asher, who had an eyebrow raised at his sister, "and softball on Mondays and Wednesdays." When did this girl have time for homework or friends?! "I'm going to try to join the student council next year, though." Too many hobbies, Piper! A blush had began to cover her otherwise pale face, seeing her brother's stare. "W-what? It's really not that weird."
A soft click came from the older brother's tongue, while he shook his head, then listened to the duo's explanation of hobbies. There seemed to be quite a bit of detail put in them! Asher had barely been able to even think of 'sleep' as an answer! How were these guys coming up with so much? "Maybe we should game sometime," the redhead stuck his tongue out, looking to Elliot. If he hadn't made the kid too uncomfortable to ever deal with him again, that is! For all Asher knew, Elliot was going to avoid him like a plague after today!
Hearing parkour, Piper began to snicker. "Asher tried that before. Almost broke his leg!"
The dramatic boy cringed slightly at the memory, "yeah. Well. Television makes it look way easier. Did you hear, someone died trying to do some of those stunts, like a week later?" With his sister staring at him wide eyed, and shaking her head, he realized that this probably wasn't a great time for a statement like that. "Not that you should let someone dying stop you! Chase your dreams! Break a leg! There was a pause and another cringe, "but not literally! Unless that's what you were going for, then why stop there?" With a soft thump from his sister hitting his arm, Asher grinned, looking away. Okay, he had definitely gotten a bit carried away with that. Oops.
But, with drama club mentioned, it became eerily quiet between the two. Piper shifted to look at Asher, who had a strange zoned-out type of smile, as if he had just completely tuned out of the conversation. Was he not going to say anything? Reaching over, she lightly patted her brother's arm, to bring him back to earth. "No comments on this one?"
"Hmm... Nope!"
"Seriously?"
Asher shrugged, humming, and looking around the hallway. "I got it! Uh! Leaning down a little, yellow eyes locked on Isaac's, "do not, whatever you do, imagine the audience in their underwear! I don't care what the internet says, it will make for the most uncomfortable scene of your life."
"Is that seriously the best advice you have?" Why did Piper think that Asher was going to be helpful in this situation?!

"Good idea," Elliot agreed, laughing a little at the idea of Asher being trapped in his own room by an overly intricate web of caution tape. "Maybe one of those warning signs that's all 'Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.' Ooh, you could set it up so it plays horror movie music every time someone opens the door or something." Elliot was having way too much fun brainstorming about this kind of stuff. His only regret was that he missed his chance to show off the nightmare land of Isaac's half of the room during Halloween.
He stood back patiently to listen to Piper's long list of clubs and achievements. He listened. And listened. And kept on listening, eyes starting to go a bit wide with shock. How did anybody have time for even half of that stuff? Especially when you threw a sports team into the mix? Elliot liked to think he was a bit of an overachiever, but anything he had done paled in comparison to this list. "That's awesome! I'm so glad you've had time to do all of that," he chirped once she was done. He probably wouldn't have time to curate even half as impressive of a list, but it at least gave him some ideas on which clubs might be cool to check out.
At Asher's statement he simply nodded shyly, making sure to firmly hide behind Isaac. He still seemed heavily flustered by the older boy, apparently.
Isaac was a lot less flustered. Instead, he was just confused. The mention of not even letting the risk of death stop him earned a somewhat understanding nod, though. Boy, was that a feeling Isaac experienced all the time in the Digital World. "Not planning on it. Giving up's just not in my nature," he said, thinking back to all the times he nearly got killed trying to help out others. You know, if he had the guts to do that, he probably did have the guts to give parkour a try as well. He made a mental note to bump it up on his priority list, if not in Shibuya than in the Digital World next time he visited.
It shouldn't have surprised Isaac when the weird guy acted weird, and yet between his zoned out stare and strange smile Asher was continuing to plumb new deaths of oddity. He looked confused, ready to wave a hand in front of his face to check if he was still alive, but then Piper did an admirable job of keeping her brother tethered to the earth. Somehow, Isaac found it hard to believe gravity alone was doing its job of keeping him down here. The advice he gave only further cemented Asher as quite the odd one. Was that really the first and only thing he thought of? Something told Isaac he had plenty of experience trying that method.
Wait, he probably also had a lot of experience on stage, too. After all, he seemed to be talking from a position of "I have tried this before," and Isaac had a feeling someone like Asher would've thrived in front of an audience. "Makes sense," he said, even though it didn't really. "Been on stage a lot before?"
Oh, if only Isaac knew what he had likely unleashed.

"I wonder if I could get the art club to make a sign like that," Piper mused, only receiving a glare from Asher that heavily implied not allowing her near his bedroom any time soon. Given, that was just fine with her. There was no way she wanted to go in there! Let alone decorate the door. But, it was an interesting thought!
Asher listened to Isaac's statement on giving up, and nodded enthusiastically. "Gotta agree with you, there." Surely, that was little surprise. After all, the teen seemed a bit ridiculous, and probably just as stubborn. But, Piper had a tendency of not allowing the brother to do every stupid idea that came to mind. Maybe, she really was his anchor to Earth.
"Well, at least we know he's not one of your fanboys," the little sister chimed to the final question.
The young adult shot yet another glare to his sibling, mouthing, 'you suck.' It seemed that Asher wasn't necessarily fond of comments like that being turned around on him! Or, maybe it was just the subject at hand. "Since I was a kid?" Asher looked to his sister for confirmation, while she just scrunched her nose, in a 'really?!' fashion. "Though, is it still called a stage? We called it a set." Eyes shifted around, checking the people watching him.
"You have a phone with internet? Our surname is Callum. Search his name."
Immediately, the teen spun to his sister, wide-eyed. "You betrayed me! I brought you cake, and you betrayed me!" There were jabbing motions at the bag that he had been carrying around, but his sister seemed absolutely uninterested in the action. Sure, she had to want the cake, but this was just being a little dramatic.

"There's a plan!" Elliot said, laughing a little. Then he looked over to Isaac, eyes lighting up mischievously. "You know, we've got an in with an artist, too, so maybe we could help you there. I bet Maia'd scribble up a sign for you if you took her on another date, right Isaac~?"
That was Isaac's cue to join in on the teasing sibling elbowing session, although his elbow was far more gentle than the smash of doom Piper delivered to Asher earlier. Honestly, it was like Elliot had forgotten Isaac was the only thing standing between him and the big, "intimidating" Asher. Still, he found himself muttering under his breath "It doesn't work like that, anyway . . ." in response to Elliot's question. You couldn't just ask an artist to do things for you just because. That'd be rude!
Nevertheless, it seemed like this guy was a far bigger deal than Isaac first guessed. Now that all of the pieces were being put together, it seemed all too obvious that he was some kind of Hollywood guy. Nobody not from Tinseltown would've been acting so dramatic and flamboyant without bursting into laughter at their own silliness. Although how anyone could forget the fact that they were acting since they were young honestly boggled Isaac's mind.
Elliot was quick on the draw reaching for his phone, helpfully warning Piper and Asher "I got it!" In his haste he almost grabbed the wrong pocket, fingers brushing against his D-Tector before he realized his mistake and switched to the phone pocket. Man, wouldn't it have been embarrassing if he accidentally loaded up a Spirit Evolution in the middle of the hallway? Sure, in this case "embarrassing" probably meant "slapped right onto a DATS watchlist," but it was still quite the funny mental image in his head.
Once the phone was properly drawn he quickly typed Asher Callum into his search bar, ready to see what the world wide web had to offer him. It was mostly just episodes from the television show he had a starring role in, with the occasional embarrassing commercial, clip from his movie cameo, and at least one fanshrine clearly made in Geocities by a gaggle of 12-year old girls. Elliot decided not to click that last one, instead pulling up a montage of times when Asher's catchphrase said his catchphrase. "Aww, you started really young!" Elliot said, his sentences backdropped by at least 50 deliveries of the exact same phrase.
While Elliot was giggling over this very repetitive Youtube video, Isaac saw himself facing a golden opportunity. He still had no idea what he wanted to do, and now he was looking right at someone who basically took an interest in drama and made a career of it. This was a golden chance for Isaac to evaluate whether he'd want to try and go down that path as well. "What was it like?" he asked, hoping Asher wouldn't find a way to derp this question up.
